The graphics are surreal. Are you going to make the source available? currently the link to the source is returning an error: The requested URL /LD26/Source.zip was not found on this server.
Yeah, the UI to make what's happening clear needs work. Here's an explanation; the dialog with 3 text boxes shows the first 3 numbers of a number sequence, from top to bottom. The game uses those 3 numbers to generate the rest of a number sequence; i.e. 1,2,3 becomes 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8. That sequence is used to remove cubes. The first number removes red cubes, the second green, the third blue, the fourth goes back to red, etc. This goes on until there aren't enough cubes left for the next number in the sequence.
If you mean how I create the number sequences, the equation is explained on this site: http://mathforum.org/library/drmath/view/51538.html
My implementation of it is on lines 115-117 of this file: https://github.com/Feddas/LudumDare26/blob/master/Assets/Scripts/CreateCubes.cs
Great game. The first level totally reminds me how much I suck at micro in Starcraft2. Doubles as great micro training!
Two spoilers/walkthrough tips for those stuck:
1. The objective of the game has to do with the door that you start the game next to.
2. The spinning flowers give you momentum if you continue floating by more than one.
Yay for usable negative fuel. :-D
Cheats:
if you're at 63% - 69% pick 30 min.
if you're at 56% - 63% pick 1 hr.
if you're at 50% - 56% pick 1.5 hr.
Glad you guys like it! Thanks :-)
Steve, try getting drinks somewhere in the middle of the 2 endings you received. you want to eyeball the yellow bar in the top left to be between 50% - 70%. Then use the cheat shown in the first comment to pick the right wait time.
Linux build added! Let me know if it works. Never built for Linux before.
Cool idea. Using the arrow keys instead of a/d make it impossible it the space bar as well.
Each frame is a different puzzle to figure out. Couldn't figure out what it has to do with the "10 seconds" theme. But great retro style puzzles!
Pretty cool. I do wish the mouse didn't effect scrolling at all, only the arrow keys or WSAD for scrolling.
Would also be awesome to be able to click a house then a resource at the top. The house would mine the closest resource of that type.
Pretty cool, tho pretty hard to tell if an object is hollow or not.
Awesome game!
For me the ultimate space ship was a straight line, a single cube high horizontal line. The left half thrusters, the right half lasers. It's easy to evade attacks, easy to collect, only spawns the little guys, and tosses some nasty javelins.
Cool idea! That turn radius makes it maybe too hard.
Awesome idea. You should add an explanation of what's going on and the controls. From what I can tell you attack every 10 seconds, use this to stay alive as long as possible. The controls seem buggy however, like after a while down takes you SouthWest instead of just South.
I had to play again to see the squatting animation, it is awesome!
Cool take on the theme. Also, great art & audio.
Great fit to the theme
Awesome game! I like the way the units are balanced. It's a bit difficult to tell which units you have selected. Also, be nice to single click to select a single unit.
Great puzzle mechanic and great levels! I found level 14 trickier than 15.
Thanks for all the comments :-)
I did mean to submit it as a compo entry. The photos I used for the skybox aren't one's I took myself. I only did the work to create a Unity3D skybox with the images. I thought if we made clear what parts were from other sites we're okay?
You know, I didn't really examine the grass much. I thought it was from some photos. But now that I look at it more, maybe it is ComputerGenerated.
Awesome theme implementation. I like how you did the double jump mechanic. Getting it at the peak isn't something I'm used to with double jump. The hero does seem unusually sticky.
I love these real-time multiplayer on the same device games. Great work on this one! Not saying you copied this, but if I make a game it's because I like playing that kind of game. so just incase you haven't heard of it, check out "King of Opera" if you have an Android device.
Took a couple tries to figure out what was going on, but once I did, I liked it. To other players, re-read the intro text after you give it your first try!
Fun game. I liked discovering where I could just stand in the middle and hold down the fire button to kill the guys on both sides.
Awesome, game. The player having to avoid hitting the wall was just frustrating deaths.
I did have some trouble making the car playable, at first I was trying out using the gun explosion to propel the car. In the end, I realized I'd need more time for good vehicle physics.
Awesome, your pretty much did "choose your unconventional weapon". Found myself just bumping the ghost randomly around in whatever room the bad guys were in. Another mechanic that might work better could be clicking an item for the ghost to posses it, then do an angry birds aiming thing with that possessed item.
Great game. My mouse skills kind of suck tho. Would be cool if you allowed for WASD or a gamepad analog stick instead of the mouse.
Well polished game mechanic.
Cool game idea and execution of it. It seems a bit overly tricky to lay down barricades.
Love the "you have died" recording.
Great game. The hit box got me killed unexpectedly a few times.
awesome dialog, music and art. The feasibility of the inspectors final deduction seems a bit too crazy.
Awesome puzzle twist on that old game "Boulder Dash"
Great game. Loved how even though the mechanics stay the same, I had to change my style of playing to progress. I'm debating if a pause feature would even be good, the frantic nature gives completing a level that much more satisfaction.
