I almost felt bad after destroying all those planets. Almost.
Gamejolt sadly won't let me play :C
The projectile system seems really solid and I like the way enemy's slide backwards when you hit them.
Wow, I didn't realize there was such a problem on OSX. Sadly I don't have OSX to test it out on a make before submitting.
I tried re-building the unity project for "Universal" architecture instead of X86, perhaps that was the problem. No promises though.
Very nice aesthetics. The lack of instructions made it very difficult to understand what was going on, but I figured it out eventually and it was fun. The AI maybe too easy until the last level though.
Looks and sounds amazing. My guy died a few seconds in on my first try but lasted a couple minutes my second after I learned I could just spam the buttons.
Nice idea but the gameplay seems a bit repetitive.
Wonderful game, very engaging. Even though some levels were almost impossible I managed to beat them all.
Very pretty game. I was ready to give up at the elevator until I came back and read the comments.
Once I was on vacation and a meth lab down the street from where I was staying exploded. This game reminds me of that.
The doughnut was a nice touch
Working that carnival is hard, everyone got fired on day 2.
Wow. This is brutal :). I've been going at it for 20 minutes and still can't get past the 3rd section, but I like that. It was hilarious when I turned on god mode and hit a wall and the guy started spinning like crazy.
Solid game! I could play this for a while. My high score is 98. It could have used some simple directions but still good.
The music does a nice job of setting the mood. I couldn't for the life of me get past level 5.
I like the fail messages :)
It took a minute to understand, but the concept is good and fun. My only two complaints would be that the controls feel a little bit slippery and enemies don't die when they walk on lava.
I think the isometric camera angle works really good in this game.
I died, crying in a corner.
I figured out the mechanic pretty quick and thought it was a fun game. Got to rank 70
Hard, but I think it's supposed to be that. I think it's a good concept and has a good execution. The controls were good and it's a fun game. Good work.
I've played a lot of games like this but I thought having tiles on the bottom and top was a good touch. Very fun.
Thanks for the comments guys. Sorry that the ending was kind of disappointing, I almost ran out of time.
@Secret_tunnel
I wasn't exactly trying to say anything. I was trying to create more of a feeling/mood like 5T4Mp5 said, but I do like your interpretation. I kept the story kind of minimal and open to allow people to interpret it their own ways.
@SaintHeiser
Sorry you didn't like the game :(
I was trying to show simillarities between the worlds by creating simillar dialog. Maybe I shouldn't have gone that route though.
I'm not an artist but I didn't think level 4 was THAT bad :(
@trueyomic
The atmosphere is actually what I was going for. I'm glad it kept you playing. Don't worry, there isn't a second ending.
It's too bad you missed the compo, but at least you made the jam. Still an awesome game. I would love to see more levels and such in a post compo version or something.
I like breakout. This game has it's bugs but it's still fun.
Pretty fun and I love the visual effects and music.
If you're looking to fix wall jumping in unity, I've had difficulties with it too. I found a solution this Ludum Dare though. What I did was create a box collider slightly underneath the player that had a small height and a width slightly less than the playercollider. then you can use it to check if it is grounded each frame with onTriggerEnter2D. It's maybe not the most elegant way but It works.
If you polished this up you could have an excellent game!
Good game, great music, and good art. A and D was confusing, I think up and down would have made more sense.
wow, crazy. I really like how the terrain looks.
I'm not very good at spelling games, but nice color scheme.
Controls felt a little sensitive but other than that pretty good.
One moment no sharks, next moment 7. Good concept, the difficulty could scale better though.
Kind of short. I would have appreciated a help list of available commands instead of doing a lot of guessing on what I could or couldn't do.
Pretty cool. I made a game that was similar last Ludum Dare.
