The movement of the player could use some animation but there is only so much you can do in the limited time. The music made the game very moody and seeing his energy drain when in contact with other people feels sometimes familiar.

If this is a commentary on the subject matter, and that it's a drag, then I guess it fits? But as a game, piece of entertainment: - It's confusing as heck, I have no idea what to do, where to go. Apparently I picked up a cigarette, it's now in my hand, and I expect that it's a weapon, but have no idea what to do with it. I have a yellow blob, and people on the street are yellow blobs. I thought it was a jelly zombie apocalypse. - If this was "going to the shops", wouldn't you know where the shops were? I have no clue, there are no directions. That, coupled with the super slow speed (yes you can shift to run but that basically is pointless because I don't know where I'm going and therefore will run out of energy before I get there and be forced to start over again. - The "yellow people" have completely unpredictable movement or non-movement, and move faster than you, and that's not fun.

The mood is nice but the the game is a little hard to understand. I think you should add more explanation about the purpose and the rules of your game. Also, the music was not playing (It is may be only my machine because I use a mac and the mac version was not working so I used the windows one with wine). But I listened it apart and it was good !

I agree with other commentors, I wasn't sure what to do here. The controls are finicky (it's hard to get through doors and you can't move diagonally). I like the atmosphere of the game though, and congrats on finishing your game!

Started off strong in the room, got a good sense of atmosphere and it was nice to sort of explore the few interactable objects, but beyond that it wasn't clear what was going on from there. Were the yellow people draining my energy? Were they the thieves from the description? In the room I seemed to pick up a yellow dot that was added to the HUD, does it do anything? Does the cigarette?

Like others are saying, I like the atmosphere, and the music helps a lot to set the mood. Nice work!

Gave it several tries and couldn't really figure out what I was really supposed to do. All the rooms I found were empty except for the one with the cigarette vendor. And I could not figure out what those cigs did either. Then I found a knife (maybe) from a manhole cover but that was pretty useless as well because it was easier to just avoid the yellow men.

Few nitpicks that kinda annoyed me were the clunky movement and sketchy AI. Just being in the sight lines of enemies kills me? Even through closed doors which was super cheap when they sometimes just camped my spawn room door. Also, the doors were too tight. I would increase their size a bit or decrease the player hitbox so it wouldn't be so pixel perfect to be able to go trough them.

And now I watched to video above and still can't quite understand the game. It looked like you were doing even worse than me playing it :D

All the nitpicky critiques aside, good job!

And as for the slow movement, I forgot to say, you can run by pressing "shift", but you lose your XD energy and it's a yellow coin, and you can buy another cigarette and if you can get it to your room again, End game. I did not want to talk about the "objective" of the game, because it has no purpose, it's just an expression of my mind, in this world without purpose, believe in one would deceive me, it's just something, even. I liked what came out and I intend to take it forward. And thieves, you can see one in the video, it tries to steal your coin, if you do not deliver it shoots you.

I added more information in the description, it was that I was tired, I uploaded and went to sleep, sorry.

I really like the darkness and the sound of the game, it is a little bit confusing at the beginning but I liked it.

I edited the description, it was that yesterday I was really tired, I just uploaded it and went to sleep, I hope it can help to understand the game. @Lyon in my previous comment I talked about the coin, it's a coin, sorry for the bad design, I had to run with them, And the thieves have an AI different from the people, they are not the ones that drain energy, in the video appears one of them. XD but "not knowing what to do", was really what I wanted to spend, we are in life and not We know a lot what we have to do, the idea was to walk the world and go discovering things, of course I have to improve a lot, the streets are too wide, I would like to create a city, where there were many objects,  and of course keep the energy issue and the atmosphere of the game, I wander through it, and go interacting with the objects, follow me on itch.io or twitter @perdugames that when possible, I will continue the game, I do not know the rules of LD, so I do not know when I can update the game, it's mine First LD XD

Couldn't figure out what the game was about for a few minutes or so. Could use some guides. :) Like, what's the lore behind the yellow people? What's the cigarette for?

I get the theme and the dark music. Really fits into the game. As a game, this feels like it lacks something somewhere, but I can't place my finger on it. Don't get me wrong! I liked the game and can't wait to see a complete version of this.

Thanks for the feedback, I do not know if you could get the time to see the update I made in the description, I try to explain the game better. Yellow people suck their energy just by watching you, and the cigarette, there is a possible end to the game, try to come alive with the coin and buy a cigarette in the bar and go back to your room before it erases that will have a message on the screen And you go to the menu, and the game is over. I had to be fast, there were great difficulties that disturbed me, and I also have less than a month in the engine I used, and I stayed hours to be able to rotate correctly until I discovered that the editor uses "degrees" and what I was using was "rad" , And I was only find out after sending, today, so imagine the rules gambiarra that is in the code to just correctly rotate people XD

cool game, top down graphics are awesome but a few animations would be nice. theme music also suits the game well. it makes the game darker.

I can definitely relate to the concept, I know how jarring it can be to leave your safe programming zone and face the outside world. :) So it definitely gets good grades for mood, further improved by the soundtrack and overall design. However, I have to agree with the previous commenters about many of the problems with the game. It was too dark to see clearly, the character moves too slowly and the distances are too big so it gets a bit frustrating. I didn't know where to go/what to do either but that's probably by design and fits the theme somewhat. Also, I didn't like that you can't walk diagonally and there were some collision bugs, sometimes I got stuck in doors. So nice idea overall but the execution could've used a bit more work in my opinion.

Thanks for the feedback, I also think there is a lot to improve, I did not have time to create the animations, but I plan to continue it and finish, set everything up so that it sounds better, and you can run with "SHIFT", but lose power XD, the question It was the same time, I would have to do a lot of things, and it's really far away, I did the scenario first and then the character and when I went to see the character was too small, but then I left it to settle in the end, and ended up not giving time To repair. But the idea is to be a much narrower street even as the IA tried to do something more complex and ended up wasting time, if it had been simple would be working better and would have spent the time to fix other things, wanted a music for each environment too, But I did not have time.

Fiddly and it took me a couple of goes to find the shop etc, but it creates an appropriate atmosphere and I know what you mean about feeling drained from other people seeing you!

I love the message and atmosphere this game gives off. Really well thought out for only 48 hours of time! My only issue is the finicky movement and collision. But overall great job!

This was a very solid game and I enjoyed the experience. Loved your use of the theme and the mood was fantastic between the dark visuals and eerie music. Graphics could maybe use some work but other than that I think the game is great!

This game is quite hard to understand. I wasn't sure what I was supposed to do exactly, so I just ended up wandering everywhere until my stamina depleted. I kinda get the tone but I don't feel like this really fit the theme of the jam.

The visuals and the audio totally fit the game atmosphere. Plus the lighting effects have been implemented really well. Although, the purpose of the game is somewhat hard to understand. Nevertheless, good game

Loved the mood of this game, it felt so dark and foreboding, it really communicated the feeling of depression. The gameplay felt so close to good I was kind of frustrated it wasn't there. It would be nice if the people turned slower or had some indication of when they were going to turn. The knife mechanic was hidden and I doubt I would have found it without your help.

Thanks for the feedback, know where the people's eyes are, this is very easy to implement, it is that I did not have time to think about everything, but I do not know if I could do this in a fixer bug, but how much speed I think possible, I put it faster than before, before they were very slow , I think I did not find the balance XD but it is going, as for the graphics, I think of taking it forward, even creating a city with several objects to interact, and improve people's AI.

Very atmospheric. Music sets the mood quite well. I wish there were more in-game instructions, and I found it very difficult, but it communicates a feeling very effectively.

Very dark mood, I loved it! The difficulty is here, trying not to get looked at is very hard and the mechanic of sprinting to avoid stares by sacrifying energy brings a lot more to the game. Good job ;)

I love the mood and the gameplay of the game, and the music really fits the game. It would be better if you add some "game over" scene before sending player back to the original position (his room) when the character running out of energy so people won't be confused why they suddenly go back to the room (-if they forgot to notice their depleted energy bar-)

The game has a nice and moody feel, I like it! I found it very hard though... I made it up to the guy in the alley at the top left of the map, but then he asked for more money... did I forget to bring my coin? Anyways, it besides the hard gameplay it was interesting and well composed :)

Like another commenter has mentioned, it started off very strong with a nice confined atmosphere and mysterious music+city. Afterwards it was a lot of dying as I tried to navigate the city and avoid pain. Reading the comments after I had played explains a lot and I'm sure you already have ideas on how to improve. Very good start to an idea though.

Cool little stealth game. The atmosphere was great, and I had a lot of fun trying to figure out the best path to take. It would've been nice if you could move diagonally, there seemed to be no reason to restrict it to only vertical or only horizontal. Overall very good though!
