LD4 — Infection

Insanity by allefant

very polished for 48 hours. i was impressed. the raised surfaces are a nice touch. the game didn't seem to restart after I died. I had to hit escape and play again. i couldn't figure out the map editor. more action during combat would also have been better.

Jelly by Cenozoic

i had some difficulty with the controls, and spent a lot of time bottom feeding on the last line of the screen. however, the game has a very unique look to it that makes it interesting.

Infection Terminator (as done as it is getting) by segludian

graphics look nice. there didn't seem to be an win/lose condition.

Pathogen Warrior by tonic

i don't easily give best scores, but you're game is the greatest I've seen so far. And it works on my machine, which many entries don't. The biggest points for me are the game is unique and fun. It seems polished, other than, it seemed a bit hard to see exactly how much time you had left to find the correct vaccines. Getting past level 5 was also hard for me. If you update the game post-competition, be sure to add difficulty settings.

infection-terror by Chronocore

reminded me of an old C64 game called fort apocalypse or atari choplifter. graphics and screens look very polished. my only big gripe is the controls were too hard for me, so I didn't play too long because I kept crashing.

Snag by shredwheat

very polished game. reminded me of the game squares. the controls seemed a bit strange to me. Like sometimes I clicked and it didn't seem to capture the square like I thought. I probably just misunderstood the rules.

Raids (not finished) by drZool

use of real photos was good thinking. the captions when you fire were funny. i cleared the level but nothing happened.

Gonorrhoids! by sinsolent

very polished. i'm amazed at everyone who included in-game instructions. your animations are very good. Controls, shooting and explosions are all an enjoyable part of the game play. i like how exploding big aliens spawned smaller ones. I also like how you had to balance controlling your ship and shooting the aliens. also, i would have probably tried your game sooner if you had included in-game screenshots instead of just the title screen.

LD24 — Evolution

Rift of Time by martinbussyparis 2012-08-28T12:37:00

Great audio and atmosphere with graphics. Don't have a microphone so couldn't get very far.

The Lost Laboratory by Kayelgee 2012-08-28T15:33:00

You are doing it right. Like music.

Evolve and Conquer by skintkingle 2012-08-28T12:47:00

Couldn't really get very far with the controls. I also didn't hear any audio.

Mars Evolution by morganquirk 2012-08-28T15:43:00

Very impressive and feels polished. I just didn't know what to do.

Caveman Speak by AdricZero 2012-08-28T15:26:00

I'm sorry. I couldn't view your system information at that link. It looks like had a .txt file extension but was all unreadable binary. I tried just now on Windows Vista 32-bit and Windows 7 64-bit and it works. I did try Windows XP and it did not work, due to some vsync error in pyglet. I'm looking into that.

Caveman Speak by AdricZero 2012-08-28T15:35:00

After running did it create a Game.exe.log file?

TreeVolve by GetFun 2012-08-28T15:49:00

Beautiful game. Well executed. Amazing work for 72 hours.

LD25 — You are the Villain

On the Run by spacechase0 2012-12-28T14:00:00

controls were a little difficult for me.

Villainscape by Sylence 2012-12-28T12:40:00

Like the concept. Couldn't get past guard, or I was too close to him. I also had to quit and restart application to restart game.

Fugitive X by frosty 2013-01-05T15:58:00

Great little game here. I played it through and enjoyed the experience. Very good inspiration that a great game can be created with very few graphic assets.

Mr Toothy by psychopsam 2012-12-30T17:05:00

Definitely innovative. Enjoyed the soundtrack. Not as much tension as Jaws but still good.

Evil Cat by Zener 2013-01-01T14:39:00

Impressive quantity and quality of graphics for a non-programmer. Audio would have been good to add, but my entry doesn't have audio either. Adding some element of danger might have also made the game more fun. The cat didn't seem to ever be in jeopardy.

Dastardly Diver by Spierek 2013-01-07T15:42:00

Liked it. Wished I had more armor though. Worked for me on Windows-64 bit.

Credit by ElScootro 2012-12-28T14:14:00

I read the directions, but still had a hard time at first figuring out what to do. I gave it a second try and it clicked for me. It was a lot of fun after I understood I had to go scouting first, try to find the most expensive houses, then try and get the customers sold on those expensive houses. It did get a little repetitive after that. It might have been more challenging if there was a competitor.

Battleship Texas by Yngar 2012-12-30T15:50:00

I'm from Dallas so maybe appreciate this game more. This is definitely the wildest game I played, but satisfying to play it through to the end. Enjoyed the mini games. Also the soundtrack was great and reminded me of Planet Caravan a little. Great work.

Evil Gnome's Revenge by Spelchan 2012-12-30T16:15:00

Very difficult to herd them out. I got one in the time allotted. Maybe if the size of the corral was smaller to start out. Also to repeat the comment about the black on dark blue was hard to see in opening screen.

Tower Attack by hallsofvallhalla 2012-12-30T17:11:00

Liked the idea. Starts way too hard. The towers seem way to powerful, they just seemed to always pick off my guys before I had enough cash to get more on the field. With some more tweaking and some sound this could get a lot better with just a little more effort.

Tower Attack by hallsofvallhalla 2012-12-30T17:23:00

As I said it starts out too hard. But I eventually got a few through to the other side and then it became too easy to rack up points indefinitely.

Goods by ThomasRyder 2012-12-30T16:25:00

Great music and mood. Just limited on what you can do when the cops show up so frequently and you already have a high suspicion level. Feels like there could have been another element to let you do a little more. Maybe if the playing field was larger and you could make deals out of their line of sight.

Robin Banks by BlockBrains 2012-12-29T14:18:00

great work. I liked everything about it. Fun and simple. Great graphics and animations.

Krampus by 3dwoody 2013-01-05T15:06:00

Great background music and sound effects. I could have used them in my game too. Good graphics too and good game play.

Word Works by cooper6581 2013-01-07T15:52:00

Seemed like a fun innovative game. But it was moving too quickly to enjoy. Also don't see the theme reflected in the game, only in the potential villainous guy on the intro screen. I do see potential here if you were to continue on with this concept and make a tablet game out of this and slow it down early on in the game.

President VS Eevol by SunShiranui 2013-01-06T13:53:00

Great game. Loved the graphics. Music was good for setting the mood but a little too repetitive. At the end I could not tell if it just kept repeating or not after I bombed the guy on the goat. It just kept repeating after that.

Ride Away! by Kotucz 2012-12-17T15:30:00

Great little game. My only suggestion is have the goats start appearing a little sooner in the game.

Subordination Day by gilesa 2013-01-07T15:28:00

I thought the city specific landmarks were a great touch and chuckled. I found it difficult to evade the jets and wished I could defend my ship against them. Liked it overall.

Villain's base management by har_g 2012-12-17T15:26:00

Great music

Bag Snatcher by jamesca 2012-12-29T14:12:00

I could not figure out how to spin or avoid getting damage while trying to steal handbag.

Who stole christmas by StMatn 2012-12-26T16:49:00

Spent several minutes trying to get it to work on Windows 7. Could not find the main class.

Minelia by Doelia 2012-12-30T14:42:00

Looks good. It looked like some kind of tower defense game, but it is so random I had a hard time seeing where the strategy is and it's more about luck. The theme also does not seem apparent.

Satan's Little Helper by Frolacosta 2012-12-17T15:34:00

Great music and good twist on a simple idea. Graphics nicely done too. My only complaint is I had a really hard time quitting the app. I had to kill it from Windows task manager.

Burglar! by Kalakian 2012-12-28T13:49:00

Black screen only. Using latest Chrome on Windows 7 64-bit. Radeon HD 5770 video card.

Monologuer by Devenger 2012-12-30T16:53:00

It was a little hard to get into the game at the start, but enjoyed it after playing longer. I felt more tension as more and more rescuers starting coming and I had to quickly click the right traps at the right time.

The Villains' Empire by Colapsydo 2013-01-06T13:36:00

I liked the graphics and sounds effects, but didn't feel like I had any control at all.

Cruel Cruel Dastard by alect 2012-12-24T13:57:00

Definitely a favorite of mine. Great concept, well executed.

Just Politics by brantkings 2012-12-30T17:27:00

Wanted to enjoy the graphics, but the instruction page was cut off on the right side and I could not start the game at this point. I was using Chrome on Windows 7.

Namcap: Reverse Pacman by caranha 2012-12-27T15:29:00

Great execution on your idea.

Susie's Xmas Hit List by AdricZero 2012-12-18T00:25:00

Rex: If you have Python installed and install Cocos2d, it should work from the source on Mac or Linux. I just don't know much about packaging binaries on those platforms. You can download Cocos2d from this location:
http://cocos2d.org/download.html

Susie's Xmas Hit List by AdricZero 2012-12-28T03:12:00

Added Mac OS X version. I have never attempted to package a Python project as a Mac binary before, so interested if it works for anyone.

Susie's Xmas Hit List by AdricZero 2012-12-31T14:14:00

Joozey: The window size should be 1024x768 (or slightly larger for the window frame), so it should have fit. You should also be able to press Ctrl-F to toggle full screen. If the presents collide with Susie at the bottom than Santa has won. You should be avoiding Presents and Reindeer. If the gifts reach 0 then Santa wins too.

Dr. Villano by GetFun 2013-01-06T14:03:00

I really liked the retro graphics and arcade gameplay. My only complaint is after getting killed (really easy for me), from the time the name input box appears to playing again was unbearably slow on my system. After entering the name the game appeared to lock, then went back to start screen, then loading, then game start. Maybe it was system specific, but that prevented me from playing more than I would have liked to have played.

Earthmination by Dreauw 2012-12-30T14:30:00

Highest mood score I have given thanks to the great eerie alien music track.

LD27 — 10 Seconds

Duke Dashington by AdventureIslands 2013-08-26T17:37:00

Great graphics. Controls were a little hard for me to use.

I HATE AIRCON by Wuhao 2013-09-04T16:04:00

Looks great. It was just really really hard for me to play, so I didn't get as much fun from it.

Every 10 Seconds a Window Washer Falls to his Death by dom2d 2013-09-04T16:24:00

The entry I have rated highest in all categories.

TIMEBUG by kbm 2013-08-28T13:47:00

Great graphics and polish. After losing the first time, I could not get the bug to move anymore until I reloaded the page.

Routine decisions (in 10 seconds) by Yozz 2013-08-26T17:43:00

Very innovative concept at capturing quick decisions. I just felt some of the choices were not always appropriate, unless I was missing something. Definitely pleased to see a unique idea.

10 Seconds Before the World Ends by Lustdante 2013-08-26T14:21:00

Great execution on the idea. I like the simple music. Gives me inspiration I could do simple music like this for my next entry. I have only had sound effects in my entries.

Team Seconds by AdricZero 2013-08-26T17:52:00

Any EXE downloaded that is not signed will show this warning.

I understand your concern. My future entries will all be web based.

Team Seconds by AdricZero 2013-08-26T18:14:00

@EmptyFlash I would just verify if the avbin.dll got extracted to the same directory as the game.exe file and you are running it from that directory.

Team Seconds by AdricZero 2013-08-26T18:16:00

@zanzindorf I agree about the repetiveness. The Lemmings reference is a good one. I did not consciously realize this until when the game was almost complete. Even the green heads was coincidental. I was going to have red heads to denote the First's but had to cut that feature.

ROBOT PLANET by GeorgeBroussard 2013-08-29T17:48:00

Love the gasping air sound effect as you are about to run out of oxygen.

Teleportant by Miltage 2013-09-04T16:14:00

Great job on the music. It was well worth the extra time you spent.

LD30 — Connected Worlds

Light Rails by Chris Zamanillo 2014-08-28T02:58:00

I don't like that you have a web link, but it's not playable in the browser.

I Must See You by Split82 2014-08-30T11:29:00

Unique application of the theme. Polished.

Outside by Verz 2014-08-26T14:06:00

Liked the mood and humor due to the narration and excellent music. Found it frustrating after getting to the surface and falling back down to the start again.

Orbit by Noah Ratcliff 2014-08-30T16:55:00

Fun little puzzle game. The first level seemed to be a little more picky about getting the planet in the dotted position, almost gave up at that point. The sound effects are appropriate to the game play.

Binary System by rogueNoodle 2014-09-07T13:56:00

Fun game. I did find it difficult though. Since having the two connected planets made avoiding asteroids 2x more difficult. I liked the music a lot.

Fear - Friendly Extraterrestrial Assembly Robot by Erkberg 2014-09-01T15:27:00

Liked the music. Found it way too difficult.

Rockmorse by eralpkaraduman 2014-09-01T15:20:00

Post-compo version was fun and polished. I had to rate you on the compo version though. You were definitely on the right path based on the post compo version.

Super Galactic Space Bus Driver by Laddo D 2014-08-30T14:24:00

This is my highest rated game after about 30. This game has good depth without being boring, is innovative, and has great mood set by the music. Good work.

The only suggestion is after the first few times I would liked to have disabled the popup information dialogs.

Star Trucker by Dissiden7 2014-08-31T13:29:00

One of the better resource balancing games I've seen this LD. Liked the music to help set the mood up really well.

Capsule by PaperBlurt 2014-08-30T14:17:00

Really could have used some music to improve the audio and mood scores. Liked the storyline though.

Connected Worlds Defender by pcmccull 2014-08-26T13:20:00

Didn't hear any music. Would have helped with mood.

Sinister by Joe Williamson 2014-08-29T13:28:00

Graphics and audio are great.

Space Pirate by Oli 2014-08-31T13:23:00

Looks really polished. Liked the graphics and the music, but would have liked some sound effects for shooting and explosions.

Computer, Open That Door! by pLaw 2014-09-14T13:10:00

Interesting game. Would have liked more feedback when I clicked stuff, took awhile to get a hang for what I could and could not do. Also didn't understand why sometimes I could do something to harm the crew member and other times nothing happened. Liked the music and mood.

Chipset-0 by deepnight 2014-08-30T11:47:00

As always another innovative polished piece of art.

the HEROES quest by enderosc 2014-09-01T14:51:00

Keep up the good work.

Interplanetary Plumber by muumeroinen 2014-09-01T15:31:00

Simple and fun.

Creep Patrol by carlmartus 2014-09-01T14:47:00

The graphics did not load like the screenshot. It looked like real tiny random garbage in the middle of the screen. Not rated.

Gifts of the Forest by Nut 2014-08-31T13:49:00

Agree with comment about text being difficult to read.

Work World by bw 2014-09-01T15:23:00

Nice music

Hello Worlds by dustyroom 2014-09-14T12:48:00

Great idea. Loved the music. Compo version was on the difficult side. One of the my more highly rated games.

Rift Walker by Skills641 2014-08-26T13:58:00

Looks polished. Had to go fullscreen to avoid the popup menu when using the right mouse button for shield.

Close Your Eyes by nonetheless 2014-09-01T15:11:00

One of the more unique game mechanics. Not sure with the connection to the theme though. Was fun to play.

Parallel Rift by liquidminduk 2014-08-27T12:10:00

Very polished. Looks and sounds good.

Portal Mortals by aufdemrand 2014-08-26T13:25:00

Couldn't figure out what to do. I loved the music though. It was great, I'd buy that MP3.

Melody's Long Ladder Home by AAGH Games 2014-09-07T13:43:00

Found the controls very difficult. She moved too slow up the ladders. Music and graphics were polished.

NOODLE FEELING by Magdev 2014-08-29T00:27:00

I have no idea what this was about. I feel like I just woke up from a nightmare. Creative and polished looking, but I have no idea what it was about.

Planet Jumper by Hot Box Games 2014-08-31T13:42:00

Your entry was similar to Hop Hop Planet, but moved a lot faster, was more interesting and had more humor. Music and sound effects were very good too.

Hop Hop Planet:

MS. PORTAL MAN by nickculbertson 2014-08-26T13:13:00

Did not care for the mouse button to shoot.

World Connector by chiefnewo 2014-08-30T14:28:00

nice little game. would like to have seen a few more levels. controls felt good. like the lose sound effect. not sure what it was though.

Worlds Apart by Koukku 2014-09-08T13:33:00

OK match game. Music good. Could use more juice.

Monochrome by Monochrome 2014-09-01T12:39:00

Took me a minute to figure out how to start the game, by hovering ship over planet and pressing space.

Would have liked to have heard some sound effects for shooting and explosions. Couldn't tell if my shooting was having any effect on the bosses because there were no explosions and my bullets seemed to go right through them.

Very nice music.

Stellarlink Corp by LTyrosine 2014-09-08T13:50:00

Loved it. Fantastic graphics, effects and sound/music. A little on the difficult side and I found myself getting impatient waiting for satellites to line up.

Schrodinghost by Carduus 2014-09-01T14:58:00

Beautiful graphics and atmosphere with the music and lighting effects. Good humor too.

Galactic Tollway Authority by AdricZero 2014-08-25T14:17:00

Fixed game not loading due to .ogg files with Safari. Converted and added MP3 versions to load properly.

LD32 — An Unconventional Weapon

Funky Knight by Fluffy Tigers in the Sky 2015-05-09T13:43:00

Great graphics and voice acting. I could not get past the first guard though.

Fathom by Joe Williamson 2015-05-02T12:13:00

Cool game. Impressive for just 3 days solo. Innovative, fun to play and polished.

Anagram Attack by ethankennerly 2015-05-10T16:20:00

Fun to play. Nice to see a typing and puzzle game combined. Made it to word 44.

The Grand Carpet Hotel by dunin 2015-04-21T12:09:00

Innovative game with nice graphics. The music volume is way too loud compared to the sound effects.

The Legend of the Yo-Yo Salesman by seankimdesign 2015-04-26T13:33:00

Great entry. Wished it was a longer. Was looking for combos when hitting more than one enemy at a time. It was satisfying to destroy enemies on the return trip of the yo-yo.

infusion by cambrian_era 2015-05-10T16:36:00

I'm never really figured out what I was supposed to do. The weapon didn't seem to have an effect. I came back to the description and comments and it got that I had to fuse together enemies, but couldn't get the first 3 to follow me or anything. On the 4th screen, got them to fuse together, but then still couldn't kill the combined entity. I love the mood created by the music and audio effects though. I think making it a little more clear what I needed to do would have helped.

SoulWeapon by dieblume86 2015-04-25T21:23:00

really nice looking and unique with the noise effect and glitches. really refreshing and polished entry

Greedy Knight by felipeberquo 2015-05-10T16:29:00

Very nice graphics and audio. Difficult to play for me. It does not seem very unconventional though. Overall very polished game.

The Rock the Paper and the Scissors by BIZM 2015-05-02T11:47:00

Very talented team. Polished, innovative and fund to play game. I love the music.

Glorch's Great Escape by wg_phancock 2015-04-26T14:09:00

Great game. A lot of fun and innovative concept.

LIGHT by MSiddeek 2015-04-25T14:25:00

Like the idea, implemented very well.

A Good Tunnel Is Hard To Dig by Draknek 2015-05-09T13:52:00

Challenging. I got a lot of use out of the "R".

Mac Squeaks by AdricZero 2015-04-23T14:26:00

@Jakob37 Yes, I think Phaser + CoffeeScript worked well together. I had to debug the JavaScript generated code in Chrome Dev tools instead of directly debugging the CS code. I also wasted some time getting Browserify + Coffeeify + Watchify working in a smooth workflow.

LD46 — Keep it alive

Balloon Rush by CocaPasteque 2020-04-26T19:23:45Z

Very well polished game. I like the concept, but it was very difficult for me -- kept crashing the balloon.

Space Jelly Factory by Taldius 2020-04-25T11:21:26Z

Looks very polished with very nice looking graphics and sound. However, I had a very hard time getting a hang of the controls to make a match. Also the theme seems like a stretch.

It Rains Swords by fullmontis 2020-04-24T11:14:03Z

Nice creepy music. Maybe more sound effects on game action.

Keep Morality Alive by adriczero 2020-04-24T11:06:37Z

@sievo @alaska Thanks for comments. Agreed I didn't quite balance the minions movement well enough. After they move to a balloon they are supposed to walk to another balloon or a random position. I think they are reacquiring the new spawned balloon too quickly.

Vote Jack! by kfischer-okarin 2020-04-24T11:25:56Z

Of all the protect the king/president games in this LD, this is definitely my favorite. I found it a little difficult to aim when zoomed in on the shooter though. And I think one game I was zoomed out, but couldn't tell where the shooter was before he killed Jack. I loved the music. It was very suspenseful and totally made the game more immersive. Excellent overall job. Writing this review with music playing still in background -- love it.

Shark Storm - Nom Nom Nom by doomshmuck 2020-04-25T11:08:39Z

Very playable little game. I liked it. I'm not sure why the shark wave wouldn't go for the free food though. A little tough when that mine field appears (not sure what you call it). Good entry overall.

Lost Island by JPiolho 2020-04-22T02:04:10Z

I couldn't figure out how to get/use tools.

Oak Defenders by Hugimugi7 2020-04-24T11:18:57Z

Very polished, very good music, sound and graphics.

Party Bus Forever! by TopperVideoGames 2020-04-24T10:39:28Z

Great take on the theme. First level was simple enough. But on the second level I really couldn't figure out how to avoid the cop car. Nice music track and graphics very polished.

Lost Souls by Raineii 2020-04-24T02:05:58Z

Sound really helped set a mood. I had a similar idea, but went in another direction. I like how your idea turned out.

The Stuntman Simulator by Tomas Poblete 2020-04-25T12:40:50Z

Liked the music. Was not sure why I was dying after not hitting anything.

Catastrophe: Wildfire Firefighters by Kaappis 2020-04-24T02:02:48Z

Loved the voice acting, audio and music very much. Really helped set the mood. I couldn't get the scrollbars to work though.

Game play interesting. I pushed the crate too far to the right and I don't think I should have done that. Very polished game, excellent job.

Liked the music. Very John Carpenterish. Like the mood and the losing laugh.

Great music. Liked the intro music the best.

If there were sounds, I could not hear them. Would have helped with mood score.

Your games are always beautiful little masterpieces.

I know unfreezing controls don't work too well. If you are at the keyboard the 'z' key will activate the unfreezer and the next click on a frozen piece will unfreeze it.

THE OPERATOR by simex 2022-10-06T12:31:40Z

Liked the retro feel of the game from the terminal and CRT effects. A little difficult to get started, but worth the effort to learn. Stacking commands was very fulfilling experience. Nice atmosphere with background chatter. Also each command taking 10 seconds to execute with drone was unique take on theme. Good job.

Like other comment, I also played this longer than I expected. Fun game, with fitting music and sound effects.

I expected drag/drop to work. I felt it was a bit awkward having to left click again to drop a piece instead of just releasing mouse button on the drop spot. I didn't hear any music or sound on my machine. At least clicking noises to acknowledge mouse actions would have been good. I liked the concept though despite these minor suggestions.

Seemed really polished. Liked the music and the hit audio effects. Turning corners was definitely challenging.

It looks and sounds amazing and is a very interesting idea. But, I didn't really understand how my choices of which babies or their placement on the arena had what effect on the outcome of the game.

Entertaining game. Loved the music. I really didn't know what the Roll action was for.

A motion sickness warning might be appropriate here. Took me a minute or two to figure out what I had to do in the game play. Very unique idea and loved the music.

My favorite game so far for this LD. Great use of the theme. Very polished all around great entry.

Graphics very nice. I think the scale of the graphics made it more difficult than if they were smaller and you had more room to manuever.

UMBRELLA REVENGE by SAGIII 2022-10-05T11:24:41Z

very nice atmosphere, although very dark intro. I found the game itself difficult with the double jumping needed for climbing the walls on the second level. very polished feel.

The Spacetime Contraption by Craig King 2022-10-05T11:31:58Z

Intense music fit the game well.

Cockroach Hooray by NickPick 2022-10-05T11:59:54Z

Liked your game. Very innovative. I found the guy to be a little too smart on second level and made it very difficult. If there was sound/music I didn't hear anything on my machine. I think audio would have improved the atmosphere of the game tremendously.
