LD46 — Keep it alive

Triage by phi 2020-04-21T10:06:50Z

The art style and subsequently mood are great but I was unsure what to do when organs were greyed out. (I probably missed something but I just couldn't figure out what).

Lost Goblins by pndaa 2020-04-21T12:48:30Z

Great game unlike any I've seen yet. I wish there was an auto next-turn button so I don't have to spam the next turn button when I have finished the puzzles.

Fueled by Fire by Scornz 2020-04-21T12:32:41Z

Great game visually with some diverse and interesting enemies (did the colour of the enemies mean anything?) I wish it was easier to strike the enemies as 'x' was an awkward key for me and I found that I was often trading blows without any way of dodging incoming damage.

Coalesce by James Dunlap 2020-04-28T15:10:32Z

Really fun game with a crazy and interesting twist that, until mastered, is suitably punishing. My biggest issue was that the floaty movement, as stated by some other commentors, meant that a few times I would lose all my health points from one obstacle that I would become trapped on top of.

🐱 Cat Fun Factory by gamescodedogs 2020-04-28T16:05:11Z

Thoroughly entertaining game with so much room for growth I'm excited to see what you do with it. As others have said, frustrating at first but I felt I understood a lot better as I was reaching the 10,000 data point level. If there was a bit more of a tutorial that would be brilliant! There was a bug I encountered where, if I selected the road to be placed. It would just place it everywhere I dragged my mouse without me clicking.

The Machine at the Center of the Earth by p53 2020-04-21T12:40:30Z

Awesome game, I particularly enjoyed the vertical game-play allowed by the booster in the middle and the art style and story tie in well to provide a great mood. I would have liked the tutorial to mention that the position of the flashing lights gives you an idea of where the issue is as initially I was running around endlessly. Also if there was a visual indicator right before a plume of smoke or lava hit you that would be quite useful too.

Orb Crunk by Claybro2021 2020-04-28T15:43:22Z

The best looking game I have seen so far in the competition as many others have stated. The one thing I found was that I went to every part of the map before I went down to see the old man, I was wondering if anyone else found that they went up and around before deciding to go down and finding the old man.

Night in the Garden by nikchernyakov 2020-04-28T15:35:35Z

Exciting game with a great atmosphere due to the art and lighting. The pacing was great as I felt I had to get further and further from the plant to get more jerry cans. As others have said the movement felt clunky due to the way the character is rotated. I am assuming you are either linearly interpolating or using SmoothDamp to move rotate the player. I think if you made the transitions between the target vector and current position faster it would feel a lot more responsive. Also if we had some sort of way of knowing where the mouse was on the screen it would save some confusion.

Until it blooms by Eryph 2020-04-21T12:20:00Z

Thoroughly enjoyable experienced, small but really well done and it looks amazing.

A Cozy Night In by AkwardWhale 2020-05-12T10:13:11Z

Would be great if there was a way to save your images or see them in an art gallery, but I still enjoyed how chill the whole experience is.

Picturesque by JLV 2020-04-21T12:59:11Z

Like a previous commenter said, clearing the paintings is like using a pressure washer and very satisfying. It would be great if there were a few different tools to use on the paintings for different tasks so the game-play was a bit more varied.

Starship Clicker by neuronezero 2020-04-21T10:28:38Z

Really fun to have a story behind the point and clicker that you have to figure out yourself. However the Bot Repair option for me also uses 5m^3 of water which makes the game very difficult as generating new bots takes a long time due to lack of water. I don't know if this is intended as it doesn't say under the uses section. Also I would like to have a use for data in the late game but I couldn't find one.

How to raise a Demon by zmoa 2020-04-21T11:07:08Z

The game looks great, often I overlooked important objects because they blended into the background too much. I also found that no matter what I did I wouldn't die.

Pong-Pong by Geri 2020-05-12T10:38:57Z

Awesome game, enjoyed how difficult it gets. It would be great if the transitions between levels was a bit faster to maintain the pace of the game.

Treevenge by Kr4sh3 2020-04-28T15:19:17Z

Really nice looking game with a simple yet challenging premise. At times I thought the game was really tough as I struggled to get passed wave 3. I felt that taking damage was something that could be worked on or reworked, the only obvious indicator that you have taken damage is the audio queue which I sometimes overlook due to the hectic nature of the game. It would be nice if there was some visual queues too such as a change in sprite or knockback.

The Flamethrower by Feingehacktes 2020-04-28T16:16:01Z

The game is really well done and a very intriguing concept that is quite similar to ours. I found that in one area I got stuck and kept dying as I jumped down a hole in some cave like area and couldn't find how to progress so i little bit of instructions on where to go could help.

The Genie of Light by Wilko 2020-04-29T16:13:22Z

@feingehacktes We have attempted to make builds for the other OSs.

The Last Flower by Unimaginable_Code_Studios 2020-04-24T23:08:44Z

Awesome game really enjoyed how challenging but rewarding it was. If the camera was moved down slightly so that I could see more of the level beneath me it would be quite useful. Having a cool-down on shooting the swords would also make it that bit more challenging and satisfying. Good luck in your future game jams!

Postcard Ninja by CarlOfAllTrades 2020-04-24T23:24:15Z

Great aesthetic, addictive and very challenging (I like challenging games). I had a small issue where sometimes I could not jump when I was touching the ground that led to a few frustrating deaths, but the easy repeatability made me skim over this issues.

Krabbenritter by Mono 2020-04-21T10:42:00Z

Really challenging but fun game when you get the strats down. Looks amazing. I would have loved a timer to see how quickly I could kill the crab as well as seeing some more content. Sometimes the hit boxes behaved oddly but this is still one of my favourite games of the jam so far.

Carrying the Sun by vidim888 2020-04-21T11:55:39Z

Great idea and good execution and difficulty curve, would have loved to see some more levels and different ways to use the sun. Agree with previous about sound.

Overheat by SlimmerBurger 2020-04-20T23:32:07Z

Super fun game, intuitive and addictive. I really enjoy how hectic it gets. I think that the progression curve could do with some refinement. I would have liked it to start slightly harder but get more difficult at a more gradual rate.

Feed the Turtle King! by Butzbo 2020-04-21T11:29:48Z

One of the best looking games, incredible how you got it all done in such a short amount of time. I would have liked the game to be a bit harder or maybe greater diversity in the enemies.

Catch The Mouse keep it alive by GameOverMexico 2020-05-12T10:28:51Z

Awesome game, really enjoyed the sun taunting me as I went passed. The one think that confused me for a while was how some mushrooms bounced you up but some didn't. I think a change in colour as well as size would help players realise that they perform different mechanics when collided with.

Günther by Massassen 2020-04-21T10:36:03Z

Easy to pick up and play centred around a core mechanic. Like others said, my score would not update while playing and the performance of the game tanked when the blood particles were created.

LD47 — Stuck in a loop

NightmESCHER by Rodrigo Denúbila 2020-10-08T12:27:32Z

Really enjoyed playing this one. Took me a bit to wrap my head around the controls but after while I was moving around fairly fluidly. I think that the zoom out option shouldn't bring you back in and I wish I could control it. As a smooth brain it takes me a while to understand the whole level and the few seconds you get weren't enough

Hyperloop by R3L0ad1 2020-10-06T18:39:14Z

Loved the game, wasn't what I expected and I loved the shake up with the slalom break, would have loved to see more. One thing that would have made the game even better was if the music was synced up to as you're passing through those X's

PoopLoop by himeija 2020-10-06T18:29:00Z

The game looks great and the catch that you're throwing the poo back at the rabbits was a smart and hilarious twist. I found that I didn't really need to pick up the poo though and I could just wait for the shovel.

Chicken Leggacy by Magic_mike 2020-10-06T18:23:02Z

The presentation of the game is really well executed and the the chicken, fox and onion look great. The one thing I found that held it back was that I found the attack hard to control so I often felt that running away was better than fighting.

The Time Terrorists by Wilko 2020-10-11T16:02:22Z

@vlandemart That's a really good idea, definitely worth putting in and I wish that I came up with that

Nailed it by Krg 2020-10-08T13:04:38Z

Sometimes I found that I couldn't aim downwards. I did like how there were multiple ways to beat levels to get a better time though.

BagJam by Ryan Paton 2020-10-27T17:44:45Z

Good pacing to the game, the one thing that I would change would be the ding when you get something correct.

Retro Loop by Minos_L2b 2020-10-06T18:53:27Z

Good first attempt! I felt that the controls were quite slow and sluggish, I couldn't tell if that was a hindrance or this made it difficult enough to make it challengingly fun.

Egg Game by zdandoh 2020-10-27T17:34:58Z

Great idea, wish more people found it. Love the jump sound.

LD49 — Unstable

Catastrophic Journey by Abregado 2021-10-06T22:18:56Z

Really good looking game, very simple but like others have said. I only realised later on I was gaining / losing health. The movement was a bit jarring although.

Wizard of Unstablely Place by terryg 2021-10-11T20:03:08Z

The wobbly platforms were a nice addition. Some points that might help: There should be more indication of where the platform was about to fall. Either the rumbling should increase or an audio queue. Also, like others have said the controls need to be more forgiving.

YuraYura! - Tidying up the tilting tower! by Cornflowerblue 2021-10-06T22:13:15Z

Excellent game, looks great and is really challenging. Maybe a bit too challenging, but if that's the type of game you're aiming for this really is a stand out of the competition.

Pop Shove-It by ColeSlaughter 2021-10-11T19:41:45Z

Probably one of the most refreshingly unique games of the competition I really enjoyed it. I just wish it wasn't quite so difficult. I felt like I was getting punished for trying to do cool things like triple flips and all that.

Trembling Tomb by EternalXP 2021-10-07T21:50:41Z

Fun game. Managed to get a high score of 1269. I liked how you had to get out in order to get a score, good risk vs reward. I wish the wall jumps were a little more consistent.

Tipsy Toddlers by Wyatt 2021-10-05T19:46:59Z

The art is incredible, the fact that you got that done in such a short time is a real credit to the artist. I would have like to see more gameplay elements. The loop of trying to drag the toddlers to the bottle got old after just a couple drags and I couldn't see any change in difficulty.

Cloudfall by Diego Escalante 2021-10-07T20:14:58Z

I really like the chromatic aberration when you slow down time, it adds a lot to the atmosphere. The only downside was the music, wasn't really my kind of music.

Unstable Fury by Wizard 2021-10-05T19:41:50Z

Managed to get a high score of 18. Found myself dying a lot because I was trying to explore the map. I think it would be better to move the gamma zones around so that you can't just stay in the same place.

Gem of Stability by JakobTheQuizGuy 2021-10-08T12:34:19Z

Very polished game that looks fantastic, especially the fireball spell. Also the current high score being kept in the top left is a very useful addition.

UnStable Reactor by honzapat 2021-10-06T20:32:38Z

Like others have said, the game looks great and the mood is good. But I was very confused as to what to do and the sensitivity of the mouse was way too high.

Unstable States by ELBIDEV 2021-10-05T19:56:07Z

The character art is great. I found I was often stuck waiting to transform as not all of the transformations had uses.

Warp Driver by Wilko 2021-10-05T20:26:42Z

@peco Thanks for the feedback. Yeah, I think we should have but more emphasis on the unstable engine (maybe tuned the timing a little bit).

Warp Driver by Wilko 2021-10-06T11:36:19Z

@liss1024 Thanks for the heads up, fixed the server so it should work in web now

Crysterra by Teto 2021-10-19T21:45:57Z

The camera controls are really tight and the presentations is really nice. However it took me quite a long time to get my head around the controls and what to do

Snowbody's Mountain by WeAreDev 2021-10-07T21:56:36Z

Great game, with a nice aesthetic. The core gameplay was easy to understand. It would've been nice if their were checkpoints because dying was super punishing.

Hellbamb by Alopar 2021-10-06T22:06:07Z

The art is some of the best art I've seen so far, well done! But I didn't understand how to get "better" with each iteration. It would be nice to see the orientation that you had done in your last launch attempt.

Quadruple trouble by gerrrard 2021-10-11T19:50:17Z

Relaxing game, I think the information dump at the beginning was a bit too much. If you slowly introduced each of the ways to stabilize the element and got players to learn them by doing them it would have been less intimidating to start off.

Unstable light by st00nsa 2021-10-11T19:55:05Z

The atmosphere you created was really good. I wish that Greg responded to what I was saying though, when I tried to cheer them up Greg just seemed to get more sad. Although everything got fixed with a hug :)

Wabba-Jakku by Scrawach 2021-10-06T21:48:17Z

The voiceover is fantastic and the art looks great

My First Game Jam Game by thedude3600 2021-10-05T19:24:18Z

Really fun concept and your game looks great, I wish there were more levels to play. Like others have said I would have liked to see the movement system refined more; moving faster and more intuitive controls. I'm not too sure where the theme fits in though.

Bob's Monday Morning by ruofusun 2021-10-06T21:56:57Z

Great art but I was a bit lost and just ended up floating around.

ABRI by EmilAlix 2021-10-05T20:09:38Z

The art style is really nice and unique, love it. Would have liked to see some more instructions for those of us who are a bit slower :) I also noticed that the walking animation doesn't always play and the camera misbehaves when you're climbing the ladder.

Meltdown!! by manzdeh 2021-10-06T20:25:56Z

Love the character design and quite a challenging and intricate puzzle game. I would have definitely appreciated a restart level button cause I wasn't very good.

Battery Boy by JuniorA_ 2021-10-07T20:20:09Z

The aesthetic is good and the music was very addictive but I wish that I could see more of the level to stop be running into things. I also found that the jumping wasn't very responsive.

Uncertain Orbits by Malcolm 2021-10-11T21:04:33Z

Got it in 17! Is that any good?

Realignment by Mediflect 2021-10-07T20:35:30Z

Such an amazing atmosphere and mood, you really nailed it. I would've liked to have seen a tiny bit more visually maybe or perhaps make the robot move a bit faster. Glad I stuck with it until the end a really enjoyable game.

LD50 — Delay the inevitable

Hurrikeyn by Josh Riley 2022-04-06T22:51:28Z

That menu is awesome, neat idea, topical and fits well with the theme. Thoroughly enjoyed it and it's the best LD50 typing game I've played so far.

Love Finds A Way by Dining Philosopher 2022-04-05T12:34:32Z

I think a little more explanation would be nice, it took me a while to understand what was going on instead of just pressing end turn. Once I understood the game it became fun to try and optimise my routes as much as possible and it's a really unique idea. Was the inevitable part the fact that they always find love in the end?

Daybreak by LoHii 2022-04-05T12:24:17Z

Your game looks fantastic and it's a really neat idea that fits in well with the theme. I would have liked some kind of score or timer to measure my progress between runs and I also found that I never switched off of the revolver because there was never really a need to use the other guns as they limited the resources I could drain from people. Really excited to see if you expand upon this game.

Post Solis by Nikolay Zapolnov 2022-04-06T17:54:30Z

As others have said there's so much here and the journal and help is really appreciated, great game. I had one issue where when I tried to speed up the game my framerate dropped to a slideshow which hindered by ability to progress quickly.

Aloffed by Tyler Miller 2022-04-04T23:12:59Z

Great game, love the inclusion of a leaderboard to keep it competitive and add replayability.

Grandma's kiss by Gaming Night 2022-04-06T23:06:43Z

The grannies look great, especially when they dislocate their jaws to swallow you whole. I did find that the difficulty curve was a bit intense going from quite easy up to 100 grannies where it suddenly becomes impossible, the highest I could get was 104.

Cute Crumbling Corpse by Chewie Henwitch 2022-04-06T17:13:06Z

As others have said, the game looks fantastic but I could have used a lot more instructions on what to do, I found myself just clicking on repair until I couldn't keep up and I died a lot.

Run Run Granny! by Hartvichio 2022-04-06T23:12:15Z

Great fun, would have liked for all of the different objects to cause the steamroller to slow down in different ways. Like the roller would spin around when it hits the bananas.

Stickman Dam by Sawyer 2022-04-04T23:19:48Z

I love dams, I love stickman dam. Would've been nice to have a score to track my progress / get a better one next time. I would have liked a replay button too. Also some visual indication as to where the dam leaks are would really help elevate the gameplay.

Tick by ChewieCB 2022-04-07T18:29:02Z

Snappy controls that felt responsive, made me feel like when I made a mistake it was my own fault. Would be quite cool if there was a bit of drifting so that I could go even faster. I also think that a mini map would've come in handy because it was quite hard to follow the arrow.

Climate Crisis by Wilko 2022-04-05T17:54:30Z

@online-play We forgot to mention in the description the solar panels do actually work better at the equator and they also only work when the sun is shining on them. But 3824 is a pretty high score!

Climate Crisis by Wilko 2022-04-06T08:27:23Z

@mopifish Thanks for the feedback! You're right the balancing for the coups was way off, the number of emergency responders is calculated as a ratio of the buildings that you have and we had the ratio set way too low, we've now changed that ratio. Thanks for the heads up :)

Deck the Zombies by PerfectSquare 2022-04-06T22:59:12Z

Great game! Got some real slay the spire vibes from it and I mean that as a compliment. I found that there was a major build up of zombies on the left hand side and all my spells affected the right hand side.

ShadowScape by nohac 2022-04-05T12:53:49Z

This is the start of a really great game, congrats. I found that sometimes my units would get stuck behind bushes, it would have been nice if they could move around them automatically and I would also like a little more direction as to what the end goal is. I look forward to you adding more content.

The Assessment by Okamit 2022-04-06T17:48:31Z

Great mini-games! Although I just couldn't work out the tooth game. I would have liked a score so that I could compare my runs.

Gods of Divine Stuff: RAgnarök by Anaxie Studio 2022-04-05T12:42:47Z

The artwork is great and the dialogue shows a lot of effort. Some feedback: Sometimes it felt like I was just spamming as many units down as possible as oppose to placing units down logically. Also when you restart a level it would be better if the dialogue wasn't replayed again as it's quite long and already been read.

RM: Rescue Man by Angrybeard 2022-04-07T22:46:50Z

Super unique mechanic, really fits in with the theme and the pixel art is really good. I liked that you could place your bombs in advance and plan out the level, I do wish that the lave moved a bit quicker though.

Forest Guardian by svemir 2022-04-07T18:12:28Z

The dragon looks so cool! It would have been nice to have some variation in the trees or the background so the levels don't feel quite as repetitive.

Fountain of youth by greenphox 2022-04-06T17:39:59Z

I would have liked a reset button so that when I get stuck I didn't just have to wait to get old and die.

Oort's Escape by conduit.games 2022-04-07T22:40:54Z

The audio and graphics really stand out, they look super clean while maintaining a retro vibe! I also like that population regrows; something that we totally forgot about and I wish we'd implemented in our game.

Ancient Shooter by attentionadmin 2022-04-05T12:48:18Z

Congrats on the first Game Jam entry. I also couldn't find the exit. I felt as though there was no need to zoom in or out because there was no benefit to being zoomed in.

LD51 — Every 10 seconds

Gem Collector by nervous-composers 2022-10-05T18:17:31Z

I got the holy grail!!! Nice game, would have been nice to see the shop for a bit longer than ten seconds, maybe at the beginning because I had no idea what I was buying

NIMBOSTRATUS by huskitch 2022-10-05T18:40:49Z

Really neat looking game. Constructive thoughts: I often got hit from behind, some visual or audio indicator would go a long way to stopping that frustration.

Pig Clicker by justking144 2022-10-05T18:26:56Z

Nice clicker, would be nice if there was some choice in the upgrades instead of just going down the list slowly ticking them off

Gravity Run by Jonas Michael 2022-10-04T20:36:15Z

Love how the effects compound on each other, travelling on the ceiling and in the dark.

Bake-o-mancer by Fis 2022-10-04T19:50:59Z

Fantastic game! Inspired by games like slay the spire, but with a great twist that suits the theme. Finally managed to beat it after several runs. My only complaint is that in order to win you need to hit a draw additional cards powerup at the beginning otherwise you just run out of steam too early and die.

Anxiety by lesinvisible 2022-10-04T20:09:39Z

Really unique art style that really stands out. I struggled to figure out what to do with the items in my inventory and the arrows sometimes seemed non-intuitive.

Boss Swap by Wilko 2022-10-05T17:41:51Z

@adriczero It's a dodge. You can't take damage while rolling and you move slightly faster.

Dekasecond Sushi by Fimbululfr 2022-10-05T18:07:39Z

I love the voice acting, I had to reload the page once to get it to work tho, i don't know if that's just me or not

Toy Factory by otaviobia 2022-10-04T19:25:19Z

The mechanics here are great and it's a fun game but it's sooooooooo difficult, the best I could do was 50%.

Do it slowly by epeachyband 2022-10-05T18:34:54Z

Great game that is really difficult. Sometimes it felt like I was slipping off the edges a bit too easily and my jump wasn't getting registered. It might be worth considering "idiot-proofing" your game a bit; making the colliders for the platforms a bit larger than the asset, or better allow the player to sill jump a fraction of a second after they've slipped off the edge of a platform.

Short Fuse by Orionhart 2022-10-04T20:28:09Z

Good game with a great looking character, sometimes I found that I didn't know where to go or what to do and when I pressed esc and then tried to return to the game, it crashed. The main menu with individual volumes was greatly appreciated. :)

Cardiac Coup by jamersjam 2022-10-05T18:20:42Z

Like others have said, some kind of visual indicator that the walls hurt you would be very helpful

Boulder Bash by W4YN3R 2022-10-05T21:10:54Z

Great game and what's there is really well done. Got repetitive after a while but still a strong game for a game ja m

LD53 — Delivery

Delivereach by DroidDare 2023-05-05T14:04:25Z

Nice game, really enjoyed it. I think that I would have enjoyed it even more if there was a way to automate actions so I wasn't just spamming my mouse

Autopotion by BinarySpark 2023-05-05T13:49:43Z

A really neat factory game that looks amazing for the amount of time that you had. I appreciate that there was no timer and you had time to explore for yourself and work things out.

Pizza Cat by DeadByDeath 2023-05-05T13:53:11Z

Neat game! To improve it I would try to make the colliders match up more to the sprites

Dinolivery - The adventurer delivery service guild needs you ! by WegPast 2023-05-03T21:41:50Z

The game looks excellent! I would have liked a way to fast forward the players so it goes a bit quicker, particularly in the first level.

Dungeon Matchmaker by sprunth 2023-05-05T14:15:59Z

Great game, feels a bit sad when you feel like you've played as well as you could but you still end up sending people to the wrong areas to keep the game going

Balloon Dropper by Anthony Katona 2023-05-05T13:41:20Z

I liked the guiding laser that shows you where your parcel is going to land

I don't know what I'm doing wrong but I only seem to be able to go backwards (s), if I try to go forwards I go so slowly that I never leave the depot area

I think something that would greatly benefit the game would be more information: info on how much gold you have, how much things cost, etc. But you have the groundwork of a really solid game and a great first try!

This game looks beautiful, a real credit to the artist(s) who worked on it!

Great looking game with a simple, easy to pick up game play loop. A minimap would have helped a lot to stop me wasting so much time. Also when you moved diagonally you moved faster. I don't know if this was intended or not.

Like others have said, a scoreboard would have been great to see how I progress between runs. Also sometimes I feel like the order were unachieveable in the time limit given :)

Nice game! I don't know if other people found the same, but all the food tended to pile up in the middle as opposed to being distributed evenly.

Great game! Way more difficult that I originally thought it would be!

Nice demo, with some great character art" I wasn't entirely sure how to get passed the boulder that chases you or what determined where the lights spawn
