I found it difficult the first time but realized, I could just get in a car as soon as the cousin steps out and just park it in the "delivery"-area and get a checkmark :sweat_smile: Unsure if intended or not.
It was quite funny to see the cars getting squashed from time to time. The controls felt cool, I would like to play a sort of racing game with controls like these. Keep up the good work :)
The game is very fun and the idea was similar to something I wanted to try, glad to see it was done this well. It would've been nicer if the interval between new cars arriving was a bit bigger, but overall very good :)
Cool. I like that there were achievements, and I like the camera perspective.
So fun. The concept is hilarious, the gameplay is chaotic, and any supposed "bugs" just make the game more enjoyable. After finishing I had $565 in savings. I found the best strategy ended up being taking the cars straight from Ernie and launching them back out into the street, before the car owner even gets in line. At one point that led to my own downfall though, since the pile I created at the exit caused Ernie to crash the cars straight into the pile, and then go back to get another car, creating an extremely fast buildup of cars just crashed out in the street that caused me to lose.
Man Ernie should not be allowed near cars, haha. This is an amazing idea for this jam and was very fun to play. I love how it fits the theme so well and it's absolute chaos slamming cars around the lot trying to keep everything organized. Really amazing work on this, it's probably my favorite game of this jam so far!
Very funny, especially how the computer guy parks the car. Reminds me of 'No brakes valet'.
This is a lot of fun! My team and I were considering making a very similar game in our brainstorming session -- great minds think alike! On my first playthrough I got stuck without any cars arriving (not sure why), so I got bored and figured out that I can just keep walking to the right without anything stopping me. After reloading the game it seemed to work fine though, and it showed me how bad of a driver I really am. Awesome job! The controls feel smooth and chaotic without being unfair or frustrating, and the humor of the game is great.
@robin-schmitz Taking the cars to the delivery spot straight away is not unallowed! But we did randomize the return order, so like @themixedmaster found, it can work against you! By the way, amazing score dude!
@haste06 hey that's a great suggestion. We spent a little time on balancing the levels, but we didn't play with the arrival time too much. We'll try out some variations, especially in the first level!

@skoprimon that's an odd one! There is a link between the tutorial and the level activation, so I can look at that. We also have colliders bounding the player, but I think you might have just hit the ones off screen. I'll take a look at that also haha! Thank you so much for all the feedback. Very fun game, sometimes i wish for more 2d car games. Great job)
After failing miserably at the first try, i too figured out that you can cheese it by launching the cars out of the parking lot immediately. Funnily enough the checkmark will not be removed if you drive the car back in - so that made things easier.
I managed to beat the game and i noticed that it stayed a bit repetitive. While the driving is fun, the levels didnt really feel different from one another. I think this would have been a thing to improve on with more time.
And another (small) gripe i have is the missing visual uniformity: While the actual game world has a coherent style, the texts/ui really lack one. We have the handdrawn font and the post it style for time and score, but then the very standard font blue on white for the car identifiers. And also a tiny light blue settings icon in the bottom left corner. I would suggest sticking to the post it format for all of the ui. It fits the game better and is nicer to look at if it's uniform.
The handling of the cars felt quite tight. I think for this scenario that made sense. Ssomehow i managed to make my cars airborn on numerous ocasions anyway xD

We were definitely okay with the "cheese" strategy for the jam, as there was enough risk/reward involved if you filled up the workable space too much.
The level progression was a Sunday addition, and I think our dev got the difficulty curve right. I agree that there isn't much variation beyond that. We imagined being able to improve your lot somehow, and our dev even had a prototype for a car elevator!
Great notes on the UI. The claim tickets were an item that I ran out of time to update the prototype graphics on! I'm glad you're noticing the little details that would help improve the game. Cheers!
Great game. Although once you annoy everyone in line, it's hard to catch up. Maybe having a single timer would've been better, or timers that would get faster when being first in queue. Having 4728 cars in your parking lot is good enough for feeling overwhelmed

@dock-frankenstein I think I understand what you are saying! When the line of people gets long, the ones at the back are already losing patience (the timers), and you will get $0 tips from everyone. Yes, I can understand how it would be impossible to catch up.

that was hectic and very fun! i loved the frenzy and the juice of the game, i was completely lost after 4 cars parked but i laughed so much! controls feel nice to play.
the only issue for me was the sound: it got mute after like 10 sec of game and never got it back. that's sad because during these 10 seconds, i heard crash sounds, and i'm sure it would have make my adventure even funnier!

That's an odd issue with the sound. I may have seen other players have similar issues.
Edit: WOW! Thank you for pointing this out, seriously. It turned out to be a silly issue where the settings menu was navigating when the player was hitting input keys. So just by moving around, you could end up changing the volume. We'll get a fix uploaded for that!!

Possibly the funniest game I've played so far (and pretty fun too). The gameplay is smooth, the premise is hilarious, the physics are pretty funny too.
Like others, I found it difficult and hectic at first but quickly realised the optimal strategy. Actually I kind of agree with some comments that it might be a bit *too* cheesy - but that could be fixed pretty easily with the addition of a physics object that limits how many cars you can 'check out'. Not really a criticism, though - it's really hard to get game balance right in such a short time. I've upped the rating I gave for audio now that the bug has been fixed - nice work finding out the cause! Which reminds me - only music would have made the audio better (not that I can talk, I didn't even do any audio for my game because of time pressure :P)
@destroyertech thank you for considering audio! I had about an hour at the end to try music, which I usually have much more time for. I could have grabbed something online, but I didn't want to opt out. Not sure what the right decision was at this point.
As far as strategy goes, my teammate and I realized at some point that we were playing the game differently. I was waiting for patrons, being a bit more careful, and finding it hard. He was flinging cars around, and a lot sooner, and found it easy. I figured better a bit easy than a bit hard!
For the post jam update, I'm going to try prohibiting early delivery and see how that changes gameplay. Thank you for the suggestions!!

That is hard but a lot of fun. I really like how you can damage the cars. Somehow I managed to deliver a car on top of another (upside down) car. I also thought it was funny that I could put cars out for pickup before the patrons ever showed up for their car After a few tries, I managed to make a whole $40!
It's fun how the game becomes a complete mess, including cars blowing up XD And I liked the difference between the days/levels. Good job!
It's good that you can clearly identify patrons (I've played another entry that fell short on this). However, it looks like they come back in the exact same order they leave their cars, a little randomness here is the only thing I really missed.

Funnily enough, there is some randomness to the return order. I've observed it sometimes, but we didn't spend much time tuning the value, so I think you end up being right most of the time. I definitely want to experiment with different values, and also prohibiting early delivery, because I think that would increase the challenge!

Haha. This game is awesome! I had so much fun playing it. Great idea and use of the theme. I really like that the game is you playing with this bad AI to achieve a task. Cousin Ernie just piles the cars on top of each other, but then he gets 50% of the tips I earn cleaning that mess up?!? No way man! Lol! Great work!

A very funny game. I often can't help but laugh while playing. New cars keep coming in, and I have to move the earier ones to customers. It reminds me of some parking lot staff I met in LA when I was dining in a Korean car restaurant. It's a very lifelike portrayal. Plus, the direction in which players drive depends on the car's front, adding some challenge while making it realistic. I noticed the parking and retrieval order is first-in-first-out. If it were in random order, it would be even more chaotic and fun, lol. The only drawback might be some collider issues; many cars tend to clip through objects. Still, creating such a fun game in just a few days is absolutely amazing!

Cool parking game! The controls were intuitive and was funny how the cars just smashed into each other. Loved the deformation that was happening to the cars, and the customers were fine with it lol. It got hectic really fast, I tried to fix the parking job at first, but ended up just scrambling to try to deliver the cars to the people quickly. Overall, great job!

Really fun take on the theme!! Loved the destroyed cars and the chaos but I still got overwhelmed pretty quick. It would make a really good coop game... not a good game for friendships though :laughing:
