Wow, that's a really good surprise. I had a lot of fun playing it, love it! The gameplay is polished, the variations are quite good, graphics are pretty cool, everything checks. Good job!

Fun game, the ball is a little hard to control at times, but reminds me of marble madness in a way.

erikengineengineer 2022-10-03 18:29

I love the sounds! really addicting gameplay

Fun game! Was really fun trying to trick the AI into falling off the platform. Sometimes the game felt a bit slow and I felt like I wanted both the player and the enemies to be a little bit faster, or maybe progressively faster? Overall great entry!

Great game and what's there is really well done. Got repetitive after a while but still a strong game for a game ja m

For me, your game perfectly captures the spirit of game jams. Your idea is easy to understand and the game mechanics got me hooked from wave one. Totally agreeing with @theheheo on wanting to trick the AI into doing funny things, in the early rounds I found it very effective to move up the platform when it started tilting, so the AI boulders would mostly just fall down from the angle of the platform. This is great fun! Really awesome job, looking forward to future projects. Keep jamming :)

Pretty simple but match the theme perfectly !

Surprisingly fun, mashing the little balls off the stage and hearing the little clinking sound was very satisfying! Just a heads up though, the game ran very poorly in google chrome for me. It ran a lot smoother in edge, though. I would suggest including a downloadable build of your game, as web browser performance can vary wildly. The little mixups that happened every 10 seconds were enough to keep me on my toes, the player physics felt pretty dramatically different depending on my size!

w4yn3r 2022-10-06 04:52

@theheheo thanks for the feedback! I experiemented with a bigger/more immediate pushing force, but decided to tickle a bit down for accessability and a bigger possible sclaing range for different sizes, but i totally see the point. Hardest part here was getting the physics to a sweet spot :D Glad you enjoyed it though!

mediflect 2022-10-06 05:46

Super solid gameplay! The physics for the boulders feels just right. This is a game where I feel like 10 seconds is just the right length for the primary mechanic. I like how the effects are cumulative, so you get to experience the randomness for longer than just 10 seconds. I really liked the audio as well. Great job overall!

volodymyr-karchevskyy 2022-10-06 10:57

VEEEERY FUNNY GAME!))

@mediflect @volodymyr-karchevskyy thanks for the feedback!

Good simple game, the physics felt really nice even with the random changes. I got through like 8 levels before I realized it was okay to hit the other balls, maybe the red made me think they were dangerous

adam-martin 2022-10-07 01:32

Love the music and the controls felt good.

landosystems 2022-10-07 01:54

Really fun game. Surprising how much variety the changes added. Art style was pretty simplistic but audio was good and after getting used to the weight of the controls it was really fun dodging and bonking all those DUMB balls around :8ball: Great work!

real-human-1000 2022-10-07 02:08

I sure showed those STUPID IDIOT BOULDERS who's boss! I like the sound effect and music. Gameplay is simple but very fun. I also like all the different random adjustments, although on one run I kept getting Player Size Change and it kept making me smaller for some reason. Like, to the point that it became hard to see where I was. Once you're small it's really hard to push the other balls around. Good work!

w4yn3r 2022-10-07 04:33

@ch33sybacon thats pretty interesting, thanks for the feedback! I would definetly have to look how to comunicate that clearer tbh

zungryware 2022-10-07 05:51

I got to wave 11, both times dying because I was too large and the arena was too slanted so I just got mobbed off the map. It was so very satisfying to knock the enemies off. The physics felt perfect. Great work!

Edit: The super tiny ball is fast 0_0

ronn-fever 2022-10-07 06:40

Loved the idea and your implementation of it is fantastic! The control over the ball is this perfect balance of having total control and yet you can so easily lose control -- a hard to do balancing act that you nailed perfectly. Games like this live or die by tight controls, and this one soared.

The variety of little punishments that happen every 10 seconds had a good variety, but this game feels like it could easily be expanded on. More "enemy" types (maybe different shapes or just different masses and bounciness) and of course new challenges.

Great job!

simba 2022-10-08 13:58

Fun games with simple mechanics like this are just awesome! I made it to wave 12 and was just about the size of the island . I would love to see different kinds of enemy behaviors or shapes in a future update. Fun entry!

reinhpash 2022-10-10 09:04

I enjoyed this game immensely thanks to its simple mechanics and short gameplay time.

2022-10-10 21:30

I love the physical game good job !

attala 2022-10-10 21:33

What a simple but fun mechanic. It really shows you dont have to make something complicated to make something entertaining. Well executed design and gameplay.

pickens-inc 2022-10-10 22:08

Very well executed game! This highlights how a good jam game should be - focussing one simple mechanic with lots of fun variation added in with the environment changes! I think perhaps making the objective be to avoid the balls rather than knocking them off might be better as I found they tended to fall off by themselves! But overall very polished experience!

poshdan 2022-10-17 11:27

It's just the right amount of chaotic energy being applied every 10 seconds. I like it. Go home, other boulders!
