LD51 — Every 10 seconds

Binary Blasterz『ロボット 弾幕』 by Junber 2022-10-04T06:22:36Z

So clever! What a smart interpretation of the theme! 10 but in binary! What great art and aesthetics: binary color palette, binary timer, binary level select. This game kicked my butt but I kept going back for more. The extra ships with their unique mechanics was a great exploration of the idea. Felt like a finished product -- give me more.

Ten Seconds Again by khaotom 2022-10-06T08:04:08Z

Great music, and love that you started your design with a risk/reward balance, it gave the game some interesting play.

Bunny is going places by kuro 2022-10-10T03:51:39Z

Very, cute game. The music is super catchy, I'm sure it'll be bouncing around my head for the next few days! Really great writing, the humor really helps give it some nice polish and quality, and makes for a very memorable time.

There's a good difficulty climb here, but I think I stayed in each 'level' too long. Maybe if the level's had a bit more variety. Regardless, the mechanics are very "rub your head and pat your belly" and it was satisfying to get better at it.

I wish the theme was present a bit more, but the meta-humor makes up for most of the loss.

Great job!

Relay PeaJay by aeveis 2022-10-07T06:21:40Z

Immediately felt like I was in a cute and cozy little bird game and then suddenly I was faced with a bunch of complicated speedrun courses! I loved it. Great sprites and animations for the little birds and a nice touch with the little NPCs you can chat with - they really give the game some nice production value.

The game was surprisingly tough -- I eventually switch from keyboard to controller, so thanks for supporting so many control schemes.

I'm off to go chirp constantly!

Exorcist Patrol by PeachTreeOath 2022-10-04T04:51:44Z

Really loved this idea. The interaction of different spells that play with space AND timing, and being able to place them on two different paths to make that interaction even more diverse and tricksy is great! Very cute art as well. I can easily see this being a full on Terry Cavanaugh style Dicey Dungeons game. Incredible design space to explore, would love to see more.

Tiny Jukebox by bobo_oh 2022-10-04T08:03:20Z

Cute and well made! A great collection of 10-second songs.

Parcel Problems. by Jacob Diaz 2022-10-04T05:50:14Z

Really enjoy this and a great use of theme -- you never quite feel like you have enough time! The chaos starts pretty high and just gets higher as you play. Would be great in VR!

I wish I could here the grumbles and failures from what I assume are countless other workers near me doing the same ridiculous job. Darkly funny and topical, but still remains innocent and fun. I never got good enough to get very far, but maybe I'm just not cut out for this type of work ;)

Quad PD by CodeChomper 2022-10-07T06:08:13Z

Controlling the drone around the city to punish and fine CRIMINAL SCUM was pretty great. The controls where nice (PS: Thanks for the note about invert!) although it was kind of hard to aim the drone. Nice touch with the humor for what the tickets where, they got a good chuckle out of me each time a new one appeared (we fine people for flying kits in parks!)

Ten-Second Murder by lectvs 2022-10-04T04:21:02Z

This was fabulous. Great humor, great sprites, and what a GREAT use of the theme. The 10 seconds never feels like enough and I let so many innocent sprites die! "Use intuition" is actually such a subtley clever way to describe how you should play the game.

Laughed even when I lost. Lost this one.

The Point of Power by EvoGenGames 2022-10-08T21:57:45Z

Well this is very unique! The idea was a pretty good hook and you delivered on it. "Think outside the box" was very clever. The final level was impressive and difficult, but a little more "thinking outside the box" let me pass it lol.

I love that you even linked the "source code" as just... the same file hah!

The Ghosts in your Mind by Mercuryal 2022-10-04T08:08:14Z

Great art, love the hand-drawn sketchy style. Together with the music you nailed the somber aesthetics. Having the arrows have such huge arcs sometimes let me hit with them on the way down, which made me feel extra skilled. You 100% should be proud of your submission - everyone has some details they wish they could have got in, but this is great in spite of that.

ZombieGrade by Jejkobb 2022-10-07T03:41:36Z

Fun game. Nice selection of powers, and like others, I think the Magic Bullet was the most satisfying to use. I do think it's a little too easy to just sprint off in one direction and not find any enemies, but for a weekend game jam there's plenty here to enjoy.

Other people are mentioning their reticle getting stuck and that seems to happen when you go extremely far through the map -- while YOU can keep going, your reticle is bound to a smaller area! (But really - why be a coward right? Stand and fight the zombies!)

bäbäböx X by Kultisti 2022-10-07T06:32:31Z

Great arcade-style platformer. The difficulty really ramps up and wow did this game kick my butt. I had a ton of fun with it, and felt myself slowing understanding the timings and mechanics better, and improving at the game -- great mastery climb!

The art style is great. In fact both the audio and the graphics are top notch, really love the entire presentation.

TOOT TOOT by Quackqack 2022-10-06T19:34:05Z

Man I'm as good at playing Toot Toot trumpets as I am at playing real life ones -- not at all good! Clever use of keys to feel like the keys of a trumpet! Silly and fun, love the idea. Makes me wonder if there's a way to use the 10 second theme in a way that paid off with the mechanics a little better, but still a nice submission.

Hocus Poquest by Miyolophone 2022-10-06T08:41:07Z

Luny! Where is my interesting text!?

Train Trader by FadrikAlexander 2022-10-07T07:02:22Z

Ooooo I was so close on my second try! 117 gold and ONE bean away from victory... and then I ran outta fuel! The difficulty is nicely balanced. Thanks for giving us a little sidekick dog, the Pomeranian was great!

I had the same problem as a lot of other posters with the controls in the map, but overall I enjoyed it. Good application of the theme and made getting ready for each trade stressful and interesting.

The Crumbly Fumbly by Lezzlebit 2022-10-07T03:58:21Z

Wow - like others before me the production on this is super great. Feels solid for putting it together in a weekend! Love that you injected humor into it, and also contributed to the polished feel. I wish there was a simpler level between the tutorial and the first level as it really jumps a LOT in difficulty, but hey, when time I tight it can be hard to find time for these things and what you provided was a great exploration of your movement system and a great use of the theme.

Intomb by LittleBlackDog 2022-10-06T07:57:30Z

@peachtreeoath Omg thank you for the high praise, it's so cool you saw appreciated the detail and care we tried to put in the game. You never really know until it's out there how the balance and difficulty is. Glad you enjoyed it, and thanks for playing!

Squirrel Time by Finn Pickart 2022-10-06T08:19:36Z

A game that feels peaceful at times and dangerous at others. The somber music, the beautiful palette, and a very interesting exploration of the theme. Simple and small, but still offers a lot in that little package: well done!

Boulder Bash by W4YN3R 2022-10-07T06:40:11Z

Loved the idea and your implementation of it is fantastic! The control over the ball is this perfect balance of having total control and yet you can so easily lose control -- a hard to do balancing act that you nailed perfectly. Games like this live or die by tight controls, and this one soared.

The variety of little punishments that happen every 10 seconds had a good variety, but this game feels like it could easily be expanded on. More "enemy" types (maybe different shapes or just different masses and bounciness) and of course new challenges.

Great job!

Termination Imminent by Kizilejderha 2022-10-07T03:51:08Z

Tense and fun use of the theme. You certainly used the 10 seconds to your advantage, where I often was thinking "oh man if I only had one more second I could have lived!" Good pacing as well, where persistence would pull me through each challenge.

I think it was a little hard to understand what would get me caught, so I ended up erring on staying further back and playing it safe, and I think that pulled out some of the tension from what seemed liked very thought out levels. I imagine if I watched someone play this game well I'd see all kinds of things I did poorly. That said, for a game jam this came together very well! The legal/illegal mechanics seem like you can take this game further and do more with it!

Great job!

Final Bastion by Kusaji 2022-10-07T06:48:18Z

Nice touch with the pixel-style shader to give the game a neat look. Classic Tower Defense -- I felt comfortable and powerful and like "oh man so easy" and then the next wave taught me another lesson in hubris! Great job.

LD55 — Summoning

Eye for Mischief by Vyolfers 2024-04-16T06:33:05Z

Wow the menu and the custom title animation are so great. And I love the tutorial art. What a well polished game!

Demon Break by Raphiell 2024-04-16T02:26:33Z

Loved it! Great little game loop of destroying towns to earn new structures. The first one that gives you waypoints is such a smart little in-game tutorial like design choice, made the game super clear. I did struggle at first to realize that the arrows moved the camera (I read all the sprite based hints on this page, but missed the controls section right above it! My bad.) Loved unlocking the firebreathers at the end. I kind of wish the end had been a little more difficult, because my army was pretty big lol, but what a great game. Congrats!

Glyph Tower by YogurtTheHorse 2024-04-16T06:18:11Z

Oh man I love mouse gesture games. The use of elements for various spells was pretty good, although I certainly had some difficulties keeping topped of on resources. The art and audio creates a great aesthetic and one that compliments the drawing aspects of the summoning spells perfectly.

Penta-mania by SirLich 2024-04-16T06:47:59Z

Very cool strategy game. Turning a monster swarming game into a turn based one is a fun concept, and well executed here! I really liked the dash move, plus being able to refresh all my abilities with the green powerup - certainly was a way to escape very bad situations! Pretty good assortment of powers. You could totally take this game further.

Legend of Lady by Spice Cabinet 2024-04-16T03:06:33Z

As a big fan of Mr. Driller I was excited by this. Great main character, fun controls, fast and responsive. But I couldn't collect any gems, so I couldn't seem to get past the first level :(. I did, however, summon my little buddy Monty, and Monty did just as advertised -- protected me from those pesky worms.

Summoning Circuits by DarkWolf 2024-04-16T06:25:30Z

Great little puzzle game -- made my really think and the last one was kind of tricky! I avoid using the hints ;)

Elemental Path by Luc-creationallabs 2024-04-16T03:16:39Z

I love seeing puzzle games in the Jam. Made to the end, and felt clever doing it! Very classic design with a great twist where the world moves around as you play cards. I could you taking this much further, and like you say, the design space here is huge! It's also interesting to hit the end of the puzzle with extra cards. It's almost like you have different difficulties in one puzzle room -- If you need all the cards, you have them... but if you can finish only using two or three that's almost like the "advanced solution." I really like that.

Don't be to bummed by the way time worked out, I think you put together a great demo of what your idea could be, and it was fun, puzzling, and super successful. Congrats on getting the game in the jam, and I'm excited to see the next one.

Sorry, I can't come to the summoning today by Malte Hedenstrom 2024-04-17T05:56:50Z

Very interesting idea here - a swarming game where the monsters aren't the dangerous thing, but instead the stage hazards. Certainly a fun start, and if you guys decided to take this further I think you'd certainly be able to do a bunch with it.

I really REALLY didn't want to be summoned though.

The Royal Writ by Save Sloth Studios 2024-04-16T03:50:33Z

Very interesting deck builder! The graphics, audio, style and whimsy of this game are off the charts! Love the aesthetics. But beyond that, the game has an interesting twist on the deck builder -- normally trimming your deck down is optimal, but in this game, because its about have points on the board, it changes that up. I was happy to see the balance of the game not too hard, and I was able to beat it, but I can see a lot more design space here. Great job, loved it.

Summonware by HelperWesley 2024-04-16T02:37:44Z

Well hard to dislike a game inspired by Warioware Microgames, I love that series! Great art - the details in the room are a delight and the minigames themselves are fabulous. I def had some framerate issues, even when not maximized, but other than that a very well executed game jam game. (Nice little extra letting my chuck the little creatures around the level!)

Imagining Dragons by Falk Hoeppner 2024-04-16T02:56:29Z

WOW! I absolutely adore the purple-spotted flying brown newt-like dragon! Redacted is the best. The game seems pretty tough, especially when underpowered, but the parts I could finish were great. Neat style combo with the backgrounds -- the game has very strong chill out vibes, along with the audio and the pastel colors.

Redacted for President of Ludum Dare!

Summoning Survivor by Bowen 2024-04-16T02:49:28Z

Hah - a reversal of the survivors genre... but that was already a reverse of the bullet hell genre, love it! Great idea, executed very well. Loved the mix of summoning small minions and using my mouse to gesture for larger ones. I never got the module to work, so the arrow gestures still elude me, but other than that I think that by the end my summoning skills were at least a solid B+. Very fun, great job by the team.

Flying Buttress by Jack728 2024-04-17T06:29:16Z

This game is challenging! I enjoyed getting better at the movement mechanics as I traversed the level, and although I got lost/confused a few times, generally I made my way through the level pretty well! I love seeing collectables and timers in gamejams, really encourages people to play through the games a few times to perfect the play. Cute graphics and audio.

summon that star manz by Liole 2024-04-17T06:19:21Z

Congrats on finishing your first compo!

QUICKLY TYPE A CIRCLE HERE! 10 SECONDS!

Out of Chalk by coffe789 2024-04-16T03:31:51Z

KRKSKKRKSKSRK!

I dunno what that was... anyway. What a super clever game. What seems like a standard on a summoning circle is anything but! It's a bit mental puzzle, a bit physical puzzle. Cute little story to go along with it, and the graphics and audio are superb! Very polished, wonderful little title. Great job.

ColorMon by FloweryAndy 2024-04-16T02:06:40Z

Cute little game, you pulled a lot together! I wasn't able to get up the little slope to get into the cave, but I did collect a full collection of the base Colormon. Cheese kept kicking my butt though, and still eludes me! Loved the really catchy overworld tune in the game.

LD56 — Tiny Creatures

Karma Keepers by Nazariglez 2024-10-14T07:32:59Z

Cool submission for the jam, and a really unique use of the theme. The game has a lot of tension in the middle where it seems like all is lost, and then you can get a key upgrade and swing things back in your favor. Very interesting tug of war.

Crossfire by Jack D. Taylor 2024-10-10T02:42:18Z

Man, I've been dealing with ants in my home lately and I now super glad none of them have weapons. I had a lot of fun with this one, and while I see that a lot of people are mentioning the controls as a sticking point, I wonder if the fiddleyness of them might actually be what makes this game so charming. It's kind of difficult to do what you want, and even with practice you are still kind of clumsy, and I think it makes the combat a little more fun and a lot more surprising.

Welcome back to the game jam, hope you make another game next time!

Silk & Snare by MartensCedric 2024-10-10T03:33:23Z

This is a really clever, but simple idea, done well. It's very satisfying to build the web, and then those jerk bugs show up to bust it up. But I guess I get the last laugh anyway, as I do devour a bunch of them. Great job.

HATCH by jelch 2024-10-09T04:21:26Z

Well made 'little' pinball game! The graphics almost have a Win2000 pixel style to them, and certainly feels a bit inspired by 3D Pinball Space Cadet.

Slime Store Simulator 2024 by gamesplusjames 2024-10-10T03:11:49Z

What a great store sim game, and in such a short time as well. Loved the slimes, they are a pretty fun interactable, and I could see you taking it much further. Placing items on the shelf is done in a really satisfying way - watching them all line up on the shelf is fantastic! I didn't make a lot of profit but my customers seemed happy enough!

Fluto by pataya 2024-10-09T05:27:07Z

Wow what a wonderful, whimsical game - the art style grabbed me instantly! Making a tactics game be about music and vibe is great! Even just chillin in the forest with my little friends was great, and to build on that with some city management makes it so much more. There's probably more in here to explore! Great game!

Critter Conflict by SpiRiTs 2024-10-09T04:48:23Z

I love the art! The bear level is a great example of how to really sell the theme of being tiny - the bear is so big that you can't even see the whole boss on the screen. Love that another team is using Godot! The game is very difficult, which goes with the Cuphead inspiration, but maybe for a game jam it's more fun to be able to see more of the game? Either way, really good game, great art, quite fun!

Sammich by ColeSlaughter 2024-10-14T07:11:18Z

Wow - an incredible little game that is super cute and really charming. It's really fun to build up the 'limbs' of your sandwich and use it to both balance but also grab new things, making the balance out of wack. The push and pull of that mini-game is really fun, and creates a lot of tension and fun moments.

Great opening cutscene as well, but the guy with the sammich... he's okay right? He's just about to wake up, right?

Right?!

Well, either way, great entry!

Crazy Hive by Luk3 2024-10-09T04:32:50Z

Wow - each level being hand draw and making all parts of it unique is really wild! I love how it gives everything a unique look. Loved seeing another Godot user, there's a bunch of us now! Great job.

Buzzzy Buzzy Beez by jeroenpx 2024-10-13T23:00:02Z

What a cute clicker game. Great music -- at one point I found myself clicking on bees to the beat! Although once the game got fast enough that was obviously no longer a choice, hah.

Battle for the Pages by Andreas Roschal 2024-10-14T01:06:23Z

I got off to a pretty good start and was able to build up enough defense and strength to last a very long time. I wasn't sure if the game would be able to catch up to my stats, but eventually it did and at that point I couldn't bounce back. 52 rounds though, so that seemed pretty good. Would love to see more animals and books, but for a jam this was a great game with way enough strategy to be fun. Great job.

Highway Crossing Frog by jcbeaureg 2024-10-14T00:27:48Z

What if the frog in Frogger worked out with the Battletoads?! Wonder no more! Fun and silly, really nice jam game.

Flea Patrol by Sviborg 2024-10-10T05:28:47Z

Hard to be tinier than little fleas! Love that you went the route of using pixels to represent your creatures, really nailed the theme. The cover art and the name really drew me in, good job on that. I figured out how I could leap my fleas off of each other in the air, which meant I could really defeat some of the levels in cool, impressive ways.

Leafkin Quest by Ethernal Tech 2024-10-09T05:19:43Z

What a great 'little' game! And it wouldn't be a game jam without a bunch of things you had to cut before the deadline, hah. There's always next jam :)

Great use of theme, being a berry is great. And such a nice little option to be able to pick your color - I made sure to be grape (clearly the best berry soldier).

Help From Within by Pincushion 2024-10-14T06:51:48Z

Wow - what a tough and creative puzzle game! Great use of theme, as well, hard to be much smaller than microscopic! The linking system seems like there would be a ton of design space here, and you've seemed to have started off very well. I think you've got a pretty good proof of concept to take it a lot further. Either way, great game jam submission!

Deck Derby: Sluglord's Speedway by Baconeta 2024-10-14T07:05:15Z

Wow - a real-time, strategy, racing card game! Only in a game jam would I get to try something so creative and unorthodox, and I had a great time with it. The variety of cards was nice, but they do all seem to have a very specific use, I wonder what else you guys could add with some more time. I loved the art and it's a very cute use of the theme. Great job.

Void Creatures by KaDokta 2024-10-10T02:34:58Z

Wow, this is very satisfying to play, the way the creatures move is great. It's a simple game loop but still ends up being really fun to play. It is a little frustrating to just wait whenever the portal is completely covered over by danger, but maybe I need to get more patient :P Great job on the game jam.

Tiny Survivors by wospy 2024-10-09T04:13:43Z

I love the fact that dying in this game is per-upgrade. That still means taking damage is really costly (and probably game ending when you are deep into the level) but it a cool way to make the risk/reward really compelling. I wish the camera was a bit further out, as I felt ambushed in an unfair way a few times, but this was a great entry!

Bugtallion by goodwincek 2024-10-10T05:58:14Z

Great vibe, great aesthetics. Fun, simple premise that you can easily understand with enough strategy in movement to make it fun. I think the randomness involved with rolling can make some impossible to lose games, but with a little balance in the rules for deployment this game would be quite addicting!

Pom Planet by LittleBlackDog 2024-10-09T04:34:28Z

@thomas-gelman Thanks! We hoped people would find all kinds of clever and unique solutions... and in my mind there's probably some kind of super optimal "two-click" solution to each one! Thanks for playing.

Pom Planet by LittleBlackDog 2024-10-09T05:35:25Z

@i-cam YES! We love that you found it! Pikmin is def an inspiration for us and thank you for helping our tiny, helpful, self-destructive Poms get to safety.

Pom Planet by LittleBlackDog 2024-10-10T03:16:53Z

@sviborg - Wow thanks for the incredible praise! I love that the classic puzzle vibes from something like Lemmings was felt, we were definitely trying to live up to such amazing heritage.

@goodwincek - You included a video! This is so cool, I love this. It's cool to watch how different people solve puzzles. I kind of like that there's a few puzzles that you felt you cheated on, makes me wonder how many levels could be optimized if you REALLY tried to figure out the 'best solves'

All this positive feedback is really heartwarming. Made my day!

Creature Falls by Ansible 2024-10-09T04:07:06Z

The way that the game path just keeps going down and down and down is really compelling -- really invites you to the challenge of getting the tiny creatures down to the end. I was not good enough to get any down there, and it does feel pretty random a lot of the time, but with some more practice I bet I would learn the paths and how to use the machine shake in order to win. Great submission!

Bug Bounty by woona 2024-10-10T05:44:42Z

Wow, this game starts off with a BANG. Literally... who knew that the apocalypse would star tiny creatures?

I love that as I get stronger (more guys) it also gets harder to stay safe (I get so big!) The feeling of progression as you grow your army is really rewarding.

GARDEN RUSH by Wyvex 2024-10-14T07:17:39Z

A very satisfying game to play, with a lot of care to the look and feel. The sounds and juicy animations really shine here, I can tell you spent a lot of time on that aspect, and I think it paid off. The game mechanics are fun, but also, I think I was able to get really far without really having to think too much. I think there's something here, especially with how good it already feels to play, and so with just a bit more strategy to the game (and maybe to make the birbs a little more visually distinct) I think would be a really fun puzzle game. Amazing job considering this is a Jam game, the fact that it's so well put together is quite impressive.

Nanobot Tactics by zSharpFire 2024-10-14T01:19:51Z

Great puzzle game with a lot of charm! Like a lot of people said, the third puzzle is quite the jump in difficulty, and is one of those 'tricky' answers. Great aesthetics, great soundtrack (even the one that seems quite inspired by Fireflies ;) ) and some clever level design. Great job!

Niblo and Mubbit by milq 2024-10-14T06:57:22Z

Yo another Godot game! There's been so many of these, and I love seeing it. I also love the little creatures you've created, their design reminds me of old arcade games, and they have a lot of personality in so few pixels. The mechanics are quite fun, although I do think you could expand on them some, and I love that I don't seem to be able to die, everything just sorta gets in my way and increases difficulty, but nothing is punishing or makes me reset progress. I enjoyed trying to help these little guys get home - great game.

ConquerAnts by Pierre-Marie 2024-10-14T06:39:15Z

Fun and interesting combination of genres here. I had a bit of difficult time early on, but once I got setup I was able to go on some missions, feed my family, and start to expand. The game seems really tough, and man did those beetles destroy me, but I can tell there's a lot of action and tactics beyond what I could get through! I won the first mission by the fraction of a pixel!! Impressive scope and scale for the game jam. Great job.

Cordyception by Rakthalekk 2024-10-09T04:38:00Z

What a cool game - it really reminds of the old NES Little Nemo game where you took over monsters to get their powers. Not quite the same aesthetic, but still kind of close, in that you guys made such a whimsical and magical world to travel though. Great game. Great puzzles.

World's Tiniest Desktop Pets by PlusOneRabbit 2024-10-09T04:00:52Z

What a fun 'little' idea! Loved to see them eat away at my image food. Great audio, great vibe. Hard to be much tinier!

Small Problems To Grapple With by Tetracold 2024-10-13T22:48:59Z

Really fun game, although I'm a bit partial to games that feature grapples :P I liked that you could use the dive button to bounce higher, a really simple but fun way to get a bit more altitude before firing off the grapple. A bit like a platform-puzzler, solving for the best path to stay alive and getting higher. Great job.

Don't Touch My Sandwich by FrikiLight8 2024-10-10T06:09:04Z

Omg my worst nightmare - an anthill on my ceiling and ants pouring down the wall to get my sandwich. This is eerily close to one time I had ants in my home, maybe I should have used a shotgun instead of bug repellant! Great little game.

Gobbo Freakout by Seth L 2024-10-10T05:15:06Z

I really like the look of this game but I couldn't really get it to behave very consistently. I like the concept of a Worms-like game but that you also use those mechanics to move around. Nice use of theme, congrats on the game.

Maze Bat by oliver_day 2024-10-10T02:55:58Z

Chill vibes, what a nice vibe break from the standard LD submission. It was nice to solve a maze with an animated ascii bat (PS: love the ascii bat! ^^) and just let the music play.

The Fish that Figured it Out by Dean Goodson 2024-10-14T07:44:03Z

Another Godot game, I love seeing it.

This game is so charming. The little fish, the music, the way they zoom around when you click on the fish. The game seems to be tuned for a very long experience, which is quite unusual for a game jam, but works out very well for this as it encourages you just to let it run for a while in the background as your fish get their chores done. This is one of the projects that I think would also do well outside of the game jam environment. Great job.

Placeholders vs Golems by mcdima 2024-10-10T02:48:45Z

Wow - for a first game this is excellent - and doubly so considering you did it with the extra stress of a game jam! Congrats and here's to many more games to come!

Ink Rebels by perka 2024-10-10T05:24:44Z

I really love the art in this, the hand drawn style is super endearing. I had a lot of trouble at the beginning, even just moving around I fell to my death, but eventually I was able to get enough paint to make a small army. I still got obliterated after that though, haha.

I like the idea you've got here, very unique and interesting. I think with the way it plays out, it's really hard to feel the game aspect of it, since the mouse doesn't try very hard to escape, and what I can do seems glued to the mouse's perspective, so I can't build out the maze any further out that I can see on one screen (which is quite zoomed in.) However, this idea of playing against this AI agent trying to escape, and you frantically attempt to keep it confused and lost is really neat. I don't know if you ever plan on revisiting this, but there's def something new in here that could be really a ton of fun.

Great jam game, love how creative you were with your idea.

Rattalion by MaybeitsMir 2024-10-10T03:25:00Z

Very interesting game, I love the combination of rhythm gameplay with strategy gameplay. Even though I had a really hard time understanding what my rat crew was doing, I still think you guys have something special here. Really whimsical music and art, and certainly makes a great vibe, I felt like going to war! Good luck on the post-jam version, I think it's gonna rock. (PS: What a smart idea to have a cheat button for people who are blasting through these games... I'm totally going to adopt this for future jams! Elegant solution and kind to the audience you know you have!)

Huh, by making it have an exact target this almost becomes a puzzle game, where you are trying to setup the combo of units and clicks just right. Interesting twist, very clever.

Heart Attack by pacific14 2024-10-09T04:28:10Z

I'm so small that I'm protecting the heart! Great use of theme. I wish I leveled up a lot faster at the beginning of the game so that it was a bit easier restarting when you die, but nicely put together for the jam!

Spirit Stumps by amooseinaroom 2024-10-09T05:55:36Z

I can certainly see the Pikmin influence, and with some more things to use your little creatures on, this could be quite good. I liked that you brought the survivors from level to level, although that did get me a little in trouble when I lost a bunch during a tough fight. Cool that you used your own custom language!

Horseless Headman by SwanBoat 2024-10-10T05:35:33Z

The awesome visuals captured me, and the fun gameplay kept me playing. It's interesting to separate your attack and your body, makes it a lot more of a challenge to keep track of both, and while I felt like an expert at first, the game really humbled me by the half way mark! I could see this having more mechanics and being a lot bigger of a game - really nice entry!

Beaver Drop by hkeane 2024-10-09T05:05:44Z

I was able to pick up a bunny once, and I think they started to mass reproduce once, but I couldn't get the wolves and bunnies to interact.
