GOTY 2024 !!!
INSANE GAAAAME, INCREDIBLEEEEE 🔥
So proud of the result ! :v:
Congrats, team !! :fire:
I love the graphics!it looks so good!
Nice idea for the setting. It's fun that you mix up the order of the levels - that gives motivation to do more runs. :) The hitboxes of the gaps in the floor felt a bit too large for me - I died a few times until I learned to keep a larger distance. The style and isometric view work great, beautiful game!
Nice submission, very fun game!
A mini tutorial for the ones who aren't reading the description would have been nice because it took like 20 minutes for me to realize that I can attack and not just dodge. This game definitely has a learning curve as you need to get to know the enemy patterns but I really like it its a fun arcade game I could play 20-30 minutes of whenever.
The graphics are great and they fit each other very very nicely the music is also very fitting and I quite like it I vibed the whole way through. The Leaderboard is a very nice touch however it doesn't seem to be working fully as my submission did not get on but I beat the last player on there.
Also the movement is a bit wonky as the screen is in like a 2.5D angle however when I press W it literally just goes up so you need to press a diagonal e.g. W+D to go in a straight line. It wasn't too disturbing but it would've been nice if it worked properly.
Anyways very cute game and I really liked it I might sometimes even play some of it on my own time:))
Very good game! The graphics and the music are very cool. The gameplay loop is very engaging, nice work!
This is so fun
I think some indication that you can also damage the eyes would be nice and that they only damage when you are moving
Very fun and good looking game !! The graphics are awesome I like it sooo much ! I might have preferred if we could choose the attack direction based on the mouse, as I find it counterintuitive to attack with the mouse but have the direction of the attack depend on the keyboard. I’m not used to this style of game at all, so maybe I’m an isolated case! Once again, congratulations on your game, I loved it, and the Leaderboard makes me want to keep playing even more!
Very nice and original game! I had some issues with sprite rendering order (my ink creatures started flickering at some point with each other and the carpets) but that's fine. Controls vere a bit hard at start (too heavy for me) but I got used to it. Thanks a lot!
Nice! But hard... But nice
I was struglling to make it past chapter two at first, but eventually got used to controlls and collisions and made it to chapter 19! So, the gameplay can be pretty addictive :) The game can use some tutorial, but I know how it is, we didn't have enough time to implement one either -_- Cool art, gave me some Bosch vibes. Nice job!
Like the idea.
This game is super fun and visually impressive! The graphics are amazing, and I absolutely love it! One thing I might have preferred is being able to choose the attack direction based on the mouse, since it feels a bit unintuitive to attack with the mouse while the direction is controlled by the keyboard. I’m not really used to this type of gameplay, so maybe that’s just me! Once again, congratulations on the game – I really enjoyed it, and the Leaderboard feature makes me want to keep playing even more!
Fun game, funny enemy design :) I liked the graphics and sound. Level generation is also very cool!
hard but fun! I really like the art
I really love the art in this, the hand drawn style is super endearing. I had a lot of trouble at the beginning, even just moving around I fell to my death, but eventually I was able to get enough paint to make a small army. I still got obliterated after that though, haha.
Hey there, nice entry! Really enjoyed the game and got the hang of it after a few tries. The art and music are awesome
I have a few things to say. First, the level design is great. It's easy enough to get into, but hard enough to be a real challenge. The art and music are fitting together perfectly to create this middle age feeling. Music and SFX were great. I liked the leaderboard too - it makes you want to play the game again and again, even if the levels are procedurally generated. The UI desing was great and really reminded me of old book pages. Ink system is great - the combination of life resource and summoning at the same time made you able to concentrate on one figure and not to check them all. Really liked the enemy design - for example the eyes. In the beginning, you don't know how to pass them, but as far as you know how they act, you can make up techniques to avoid them. Beautiful levels too. Liked the diagonal perspective, which reminded me of old isometric RPGs. Overall, you did a great job. One of the best games I ever played in LD (I'm pretty new to the jam, but I already played a lot of games, too. Keep up your good work!
great udea and artwork, i liked fistfrom above the most!
Great job all round here guys, good fun especially once you get on a roll with multiple little dudes
The artwork is beautiful and original, but that something everything agrees on. The game plays fun and comfy.
There are some areas that could use polishing like among others readability of hitboxes (falling down, knights and eyes hits), layers ordering (sometimes my dudes are "behind" the carpet).
I've checked your profiles and I've noticed you are all new accounts, so congratz on your Ludum Dare debut, very solid entry and promising start!
Cool graphics, and interesting take on the theme. I was having a really hard time dealing with the eye ball enemies but still had fun playing. Overall I think you did a great job, nice work.
I really like this game, at first I was attracted by the graphics and it's very addictive to play, but I'm really not good at proceeding and restarting over and over again is full of fun! I've noticed some possible problems, the relationship between the layers seems a bit strange, the blood packs that drop from defeating pawns seem to be under traps and also carpets
