Loving the game loop!
Wow, it's interesting. The animation and design are good. Great job!
Interesting idea. I think it would be cool if the player can choose when to attack.
I wanna play this but when I click Play it shows me a tutorial text and I can't move around or do anything.
The itch.io version isn't browser. Please correct that :)
I am unable to play for the same reason as @jackaljk
can't play neither, same as above 😥
Interesting and just gorgeous ! Did you make the assets during the jam ?
Same as above, if anyone has a fix I would love to play the game
Sorry guys, this is our first game jam. We'll try to fix everything now.
Interesting interpretation of popular game! Good graphic and fun mechanics. An indicator of enemies taking hit would be nice. Overall, nice work!
Almost no player or enemy feedback. The concept is fun, but needed some more weapons or upgrades.
Woud be nice if enemies didn't hit me while I am shopping. Also couldn't find out if I am dealing any damage to them before I upgreaded my sword and started to actually kill them. Had some fun though =)
game cool, but need some animations)
Unfortunately I couldn't play the game.
My PC's resolution is 1366x768 and the game was not adjusted to it. I couldn't even get out of the tutorial screen (I tried the download version too and it has the same problem).
Sorry but couldn't play the game and the option menu just crashed. Good visuals tho.
@joao-marcello Sorry. The game supports a screen resolution of 1920x1080.
Tried to play, but unfortunately I couldn't move the character. Too bad, because the game looks cute, hope you will find a way to fix it, wish you luck! :-)
@lgg try to click "?" button and close the window after that. it help you to play)
I tried the game on an other computer and it worked this time, maybe it was a resolution issue the first time. That's a great game for a first jam, nice arts and music. As others have pointed out a damage indicator or something that show that you damaged an ennemy would have been great but it's not that much of an issue. Good job guys
This is a great base for a Survivors-type game, but as it stands it's a bit rough on the edges. Initially I had trouble figuring out where I was supposed to take the rune, but once I found the different colored circles it clicked.
There could be some feedback when you hit enemies. Right now it's hard to tell where the attacks are hitting.
Also, at some point the enemies just seemed to stop spawning at all.
Good job on finishing a game in your first jam! You managed to stuff plenty of features and some nice graphics in there!
Is there no gameover state? I could just stand still and wait until enemies stop spawning.
Also, as others have mentioned already, feedback / effects on enemy hits / attack is highly recommended. They could even be a major selling point for survival games with minimalistic gameplay.
Sorry, but I didn't get what should I do. After I accidentally find where can I upgrade my character after killed instantaneously as soon as I spawned, I killed every enemy and nothing happened.
I did eventually pick up the gem and find the right portal in the corner and placed it. Unfortunately nothing seemed to have happened, it just disappeared.
It's fine, it's your first game. As others have said already, you need player feedback. As of now, we're not informed of whether something happened or not. If you don't have time for walking animation, you need at least some kind of "hit" state to indicate you're hurt, like knockback or character flashing. Same goes for enemies. And same goes for pickup up and placing gems, seeing if it's successfully landed in the portal, etc. If animation is too hard you at least need sfx.
I was looking to play this because of the title screen, but uh... 48~72 hrs is not enough time to make a beautiful title screen alone. Since it's jam I suppose it could've been prepared. It's fine if the graphics is imperfect, just try to put in game-necessary callbacks (i.e. animations, sfx, etc) and refine the game loop so that we as players feel like we're progressing.
Overall, nice starting place though. You'll get better at time management and game design coordination each jam with accumulated experience, don't worry.
1. I can't hit enemies, so they just stack around me and killing. Also it would be better to make a full respawn of enemies after player death. I died near bonfire, but after i revived this stack of hundreads enemies killed me again 2. I finaly realised where I should to carry runes, but it would be better to make a pointer on a screen that navigating me.
Gorgeous character design! The font choice was a little strange for me, it is not one of the most readable pixel art fonts, but it serves it's purpose. I have to point out that the music button on the menu does not work - also, is it supposed to have music during gameplay? It took me a while to understand that the colored roads lead to the magical colored circles. I do wish the game gave some feedback about placing the tunes tho, as well as being hit/hitting an enemy. Anyways, good job finishing the game in 72 hours! It is a fun little game!
This could work as an idle game too.
Neat little game. I was a little confused where I was supposed to go and that I could buy upgrades. If the tutorial had pictures or diagrams it would help a lot. I like the art style. The sword attack and the circle glow effects looked cool. Good job.
Didn't really get how to play. Didn't see where the runes were. My guy got big and then shrunk. Could use a sound when my guy gets hit.
More guide should be given. But the mechanic and loop is worth playing. Welcome to play my game as well.
Nice game. I feel like a bit of sound during gameplay would have added a lot of dimension. Also I think the enemies are a bit too fast: del_surv.png
Great looking game with a simple, easy to pick up game play loop. A minimap would have helped a lot to stop me wasting so much time. Also when you moved diagonally you moved faster. I don't know if this was intended or not.
Visuals looking really good. Wasn't able to pick things up with E. So couldn't play further.
I also could not pick things up with E unfortunately.
The game is good as a base game which can be expanded on. If sound could be added into the game itself plus more game mechanics that would be great. Other than that nice game and some expansion can make it great!
Couldn't pick things up with E. Either that or I got no feed back when I did pick anything up, so it appeared like I couldn't pick anything up
The gameplay was simple but pretty fun. As someone who love mildly exploitative tech in games, I liked the ability to spam pickup/drop to move faster. I found I could outrun enemies even with no speed upgrades using that method. The fences were a bit frustrating, especially when your character barely fits through when carrying the rune.
I couldn't really understand the game loop i wasn't sure how to actually deliver anything. The monsters just come at you but it seems like they just randomly die maybe it's the weird sword slash thats hitting them but its unclear.
E only seemed to work inside the portal and then it significantly slowed me down when i dropped the crystal as the market it didn't seem to do anything. Some sound effects would have helped with understanding that my actions were actually doing something.
Overall i think the game needs a bit more of a tutorial or explanation.
Cool concept, the movement speed can be tuned a bit I think, it was a bit slow. I think the hit box can be tuned a bit. The hitbox goes too high in the character, like, the head shouldn't get stuck on a fence. Ideally it should be higher up in the body, so maybe the hitbox should only as high as the character's neck.
I cannot play. There is something wrong with the web-browser game !!! You commented my project and I would like to do the same. Is there something wrong?
I like the idea and the gameplay loop! I think it's just maybe missing some feedback like enemies getting hit or maybe some audio cue to let you know that the delivery was successful. Also the orange one was a bit bugged for me because my character couldn't fit through. Apart from that I think it's a pretty good job and I had fun!
A Vampire Survivors-like but with actual goals sounds neat. Unfortunately I couldn't find the run. I ran around the market spamming E, but nothing changed. I followed the roads to other locations with glowing rings and couldn't interact there either.
Also the skeletons can move through water but the player can't. Barriers that only affect the player are tough. When I respawned, I appear unable to take damage, so I'm just accruing a large pile of skeletons on my leg.
Also is the description meant to be funny? Feels like you're waaay overselling it. I didn't experience much of the travel "through ancient forests, across dangerous swamps, and over treacherous mountains to complete your deliveries." Seemed like a field of green with some roads and locations on it.
