LD53 — Delivery

Air Delivery by pianoman373 2023-05-07T22:15:57Z

Absolutely incredible!

I've played others pico-8 games here in the jam and your is the best so far (by the way, yours is my top 5 best mood games; I really enjoyed this).

The pixel art is adorable and I loved the little details: the dust when we move, the wind when gliding, the care with the NPCs...

The music is relaxing and it doesn't get boring with time, which is great!

I managed to finish your game, but can't find one of the person to deliver the letter (by the way, the letter count on top-right of the screen showed 9/9 but I still had one letter to deliver; It was a bug?)

Overall, a excellent entry! Congrats!

ΗΠΛ Debate Club by Ava Skoog 2023-05-18T21:43:31Z

Loved the concept and very polish entry!

The art is cute and the sfx from the audience as the debate unfolded was an excellent touch.

It was a bit confusing figure out whats going on at first try, but once i managed the game keeps pretty enjoyable. However, don't having someone to play may spoil the fun (like others commented, add a AI opponent would solve the problem) and the Windows version presented lag after the third round.

Overall, a nice game! Congrats!

Rush Deliverance by ryusui 2023-05-07T21:21:24Z

Nice endless runner game! Impressive work for a solo developer! (being a solo dev too I understand the problems that surge in our way...)

Good graphics; I just didn't like that the notifications disturb the player visibility.

Overall, a good game.

Lame Duck Delivery Service! by zxeno 2023-05-07T20:48:24Z

It was not that clear what to do in the beginning and the ship's rotation was a bit too slow...

Liked the graphics and the care you had to add some SFX.

PS: I cannot read the in-game tutorial cause it keeps outside of the screen (my PC resolution is 1366x768)

Beelivery by Jejkobb 2023-05-03T21:44:01Z

OMG, what a nice entry :scream: ! Congrats!

The animation intro was soooo cute! I really liked the 2D art of your game (the animations need some frames, but this is not a issue overall)

The gameplay was really addicted! Some parts were hard (the trees with the wheels for example), but the feeling of pass trough them are very satisfying!

Finally, about the music, the chosen soundtrack was the icing on the cake from your game! Good job!

:musical_note: Let it bee! Let it beeeeeeee! :musical_note:

Hexpress by RunicPixels 2023-05-03T21:23:20Z

The visual of your game is absolutely amazing! Nice use of a limited color palette!

Plus, I liked a lot of your isometric tile map. By the way, a BIG map considering the jam's deadline.

The game needs some implementation (scores, objective, etc.) but, I liked what I saw here!

Good job!

Holiday Halfpipe by Marcus Otterstrom 2023-05-09T14:02:41Z

Absolutely incredible! Had much fun on this!

Just like some players, i initially played only jumping across the roofs without caring for tricks until i notice they give much more points.

Loved the graphics and nice parallax! Also the music is pleasant to hear (would love play this game on Christmas)

Overall, a great game! Good job!

Sky Drop by HagamosVideojuegos 2023-05-07T22:46:17Z

Cute game!

The work with the graphics were notable and I found the characters very charismatic.

About the gameplay, since we have to drop the packages in the target, would help a lot to allow visualize the shadow even at high altitude.

I did not realize what the crows are for: they seems not inflict damage on player and die very easily.

Overall, a liked this game! Good job, guys!

E.T. Eats by Reef 2023-05-05T02:08:08Z

Fun little game (the ship's moves remind me my own entry)!

Beautiful pixel art and the movements are easy to master.

Add some soundtrack and SFX and it your game will be perfect.

Good job!

Banana's Invasion by coatline 2023-05-08T21:34:43Z

Such a cute entry!

Easy controls and nice graphics; great use of SFX for weapons.

I'm kind undecided about the allies: at first it's great have some help in the battlefield but they kill the enemies so fast that I felt the game was playing itself. Also, they need some IA adjust since they constantly kept stuck in the wall.

Overall, a good entry! Good job!

Swallow Express by Tomssuli 2023-05-04T14:58:12Z

I've already played some "Bird delivering something" games here on Jam and yours was the most fun until now.

Loved the dialogues and the SFX when the animals are speaking (remember me Banjo-Kazooie from N64 and bring back some nostalgic memories)

Unfortunately, a weird bug make me get stuck in the ground and I had to start all over again  .

bird-error.png

Suggestions: - you should change the obstacles color to better contrast with background. It's really hard distinguish one from another. - The duration of the game is maybe too long since you have to constantly press space to keep flying.

Finally, I liked the glide mechanic and the fact that you added a ranking.

My best time was 00:04:54

Overall, a good game.

Storky McStorkface Express by Flying Dog Fish 2023-05-03T19:42:52Z

Pretty fun game! Loved the music, but the SFX became annoying very quickly and it ruins the mood of your game.

Graphics simple, but it serves its purpose. The only thing I dislike is the discrepancy between the level art and the characters art (pixel art vs. cartoon?)

Overall, I enjoyed this little game. Good job!

Warmazon by Kaish 2023-05-06T12:52:10Z

Great game!

Nice pixel art and interesting color palette.

The dialogues are funny and the music and SFX really helped to give the war feeling for your game.

However, the items were not very useful once we can pass the levels only running and dodging the bullets.

Overall a nice entry!

AstroParcel by Martynas 2023-05-05T16:09:06Z

Challenging, but incredibly fun!

The controls are hard, but pleasant to master.

The minimalist graphics are amazing! I'm impressed with the little effects (the UI text effects in special).

It was a good work! Congrats.

Zip and Steady by TopperVideoGames 2023-05-05T01:43:28Z

Wow, here we have well designed puzzles with new mechanics presented at each level. Well done.

The graphics are cute but need some polish to become more attractive.

Nice that you put hints in the levels (that helped a lot).

Overall It's a good game. Good job!

Potion Delivery by Ethernal Tech 2023-05-04T17:04:24Z

Cute game and beautiful work with pixel art. Good job!

License To Serve by No Grapes Games 2023-05-03T19:28:49Z

Very intelligent puzzle game and creative use of the theme.

Loved the anime art style, but the discrepancy between the art of Susan and the art of the NPC's was a bit anticlimactic...

Overall, a competent entry. Good job!

Mail-In Vengeance by YellowKamel 2023-05-05T16:01:09Z

Nice concept!

Took me a while to master the controls due the lack of some "how to play" tutorial but after some time the game keep so smooth!

Liked the soundtrack, and the graphics do their job.

Great Entry!

PS: you could add the tutorial here in the jam's page, it will help a lot others players.

Level Delivery System by Le Don 2023-05-05T15:51:52Z

I liked the minimalist art and It's great that added many different gameplay (very ambitious considering the jam's deadline).

It's not clear in the game what the Special Ability does in the game due the lack of some animation or effect. Add these little details would help a lot to improve the player's satisfaction.

One tip: generally in game like this (composed of some minigames), It's common organize them to play in sequence one after other, with no need for player commands, like the Wario Ware minigames.

Good job!

The Holy Scanner by Teun de Vries 2023-05-03T15:34:15Z

Your game is absolutely hilarious  !

The music is pleasant and the graphics are great. The movement of the legs and the arms of the player made me laugh a lot haha.

The only problem was that your game don't support 1366x768 resolution and I can't read the dialogues. It's a shame, cause judging by the comments, they must have been pretty funny.

Overall, a nice entry! Good job!

Dimensional Delivery by DarkWolf 2023-05-06T12:57:29Z

Simple and interesting concept. The text box really helped a lot to understand your game in few time. Good job.

Spider Sorter by the_martijn 2023-05-07T22:31:00Z

Such a great game! I liked the concept.

The controls are, somewhat, confusing in the beginning, but due his simplicity is easy to master (played using the arrow keys).

Despite the lack of animations, I liked the graphics.

Some music would be a great addiction to your game but I understand that the jam's deadline might be cruel sometimes (my own game doesn't has music due this  )

The gameplay turns really frenetic at the end but I manage to score 39 points.

spider2.png

Overall, a good job! Congrats!

WitchDelivr by alpacalypse 2023-05-03T12:58:40Z

Nice controls and beautiful pixel art. Also, your game fits perfectly the theme. Run over the pedestrians added a great touch to your game.

But I misses some objective after a while as the game was a bit too easy...

Air Fast Chaos by MadR 2023-05-05T01:06:03Z

Very funny game and good use of theme.

The simplistic graphics are competent and the music and SFX do their job.

I didn't like that cars hurt us even when they are stopped in traffic, and sometimes It's hard leave the house without take damage.

Overall, a good game!

Delivered With Care. by Stevi60 2023-05-05T02:01:17Z

Nice graphics and challenging game. The mechanics are a bit hard to master and the lack of checkpoints make it almost impossible to finish.

I liked the concept and you used very well the theme delivery.

Overall, a good game! Nice job!

PS: I loved the footsteps sound.

Deliverance by EpicGameFan 2023-05-08T21:53:34Z

Strong inspiration in Celeste and Shovel Knight, which is nice!

Liked the graphics and the music is the best in the game for sure! Really like it.

The physics need some tuning: the player can't jump/move near to wall without being stick in it, which is frustrating and ruins the mood of your game.

With some adjustments in the physics, this game will be great!

Unwanted Postman by ironcutter 2023-05-08T21:21:51Z

I Loved this game!

His simplicity in controls and concept make it a pleasant to play.

Competent graphics, and great soundtrack and SFX.

Overall a great entry!

PS: that dog will give me nightmares...

Purrfect Delivery by Mashiro 2023-05-03T13:53:14Z

Wow! What a nice and fun game hahaha!

Took me a while to fully understand the controls but once I managed, the game kept really fun.

The pop-ups added a nice humor to your game (I laugh a lot with some of them). Very creative idea. Although after a while they get really annoying (they're pop-ups after all).

Great job!!

Inconvenient Conveyance by LucDeligne 2023-05-06T12:29:54Z

Great concept!

I liked that the house's colors keep changed forcing us to explore the area instead to throw the boxes always on the same house.

The pixel art is nice and competent.

Like others said, just add some Music/SFX and you game will be perfect!

Nice job!

Hell'o-Cargo by agudar 2023-05-03T20:36:37Z

Divine polish game :scream: ! By the way, It's The best I've played in the jam so far.

The SFX gave a nice feeling to your game and the graphics are simply amazing! The animations are very fluid!

Smart Level design, with new mechanics been added as we pass trough the levels. Some puzzles forced me to think for a while.

The only negative point was that the controls using the arrow keys are uncomfortable (J + [Keys]?). A solution could be allow the player grab the box with the 'F' key for example.

Overall, a great entry! Good job, guys!

PS: The plot twist on the final will make me have nightmares at night

Winter Factory by Jul._.li 2023-05-06T20:53:00Z

Loved the concept, right on theme!

The graphics do their job and the music is relaxing and not become annoying as the time pass.

Good progression on difficult.

Only thing I dislike is the rule on the top-left side of the screen cover the device that drop the gifts.

Overall a nice game! Good job!

Cow Delivery by RenardGames 2023-05-03T13:20:18Z

I love your concept and the game was incredibly fun! The music fits perfectly with your game, i liked it a lot.

Some advices: - I found some problems with the boulder's physics, for example, when we drop it close to a wall, the bolder get stuck. - The color of the boulder sprites could be better to contrast with the background (gray, maybe?)

Overall a great entry. Good job!

Machine Meltdown by Stefan Funke 2023-05-06T22:13:58Z

Excellent work with pixel art!

The intro with the tutorials were a great addiction to understand the controls, but I missed some way to quickly restart the battle (waiting the dialogues finish over and over became annoying as the time goes by).

I agree with others comments that the controls were a bit tricky to master

Overall, a good game!

Note by Chii 2023-05-05T12:25:27Z

Such a relaxing game!

The simplistic graphics do their job and the music is nice.

I wished that the spin speed was a bit faster and I found a bug: the first time i played the note fell off the game screen!

Dungeon Pizza Delivery by Kujoen 2023-05-05T01:52:16Z

Love this game. Incredibly well done considering the jam's deadline. The variety of enemies is impressive and I like the pixel art.

One possible adjust would be decrease the shoot reload time to lower the difficulty a bit.

Good job!

Deep Delivery by Savidiy 2023-05-03T21:56:18Z

Simple but competent game.

Some areas seemed unfair as our submarine's width is a bit large, making difficult to dodge the obstacles sometimes.

I liked the music and the graphics style. Add some animations would make it even better.

Overall, a good job!

Panini by vividfax 2023-05-04T17:11:44Z

Such a unique concept! Great Job!

The aesthetic of your game is so adorable and I liked that the slippery movement add some difficult.

The only thing I missed was some score system, but overall I really like this little game.

DeliveryQuest by RaggedyJam 2023-05-13T14:18:26Z

Nice mini games!

I hadn't problems with the first and the second, but the third it's too hard...

One solution would be decrease the package gravity, this way the player have more time to attack the enemies and to grab the package later.

Overall, a fun game! Good job!

News @ Doorstep by Petronus 2023-05-07T20:37:36Z

Unfortunately, the game does not support 1366x768 resolution and I cannot play it 😥

game-tt.png

GobEx by WeirdBitGames 2023-05-18T21:19:10Z

Nice and unique concept!

The art is so adorable and the music and SFX help a lot to increase your game's mood! (Liked the "Yeah" scream when we deliver a item to goblin)

Took me a while to figure out how to play properly (I thought the game would only use the mouse and didn't notice the hotkeys), but once I managed the game becomes very fun!

Nice that you put a online leaderboard into your game (I didn't get my place in the ranking, these players are too skilled for me  ).

Overall, a incredible and nicely polished game! Good job!

Void Scion by TechnoPorg 2023-05-06T22:26:55Z

Congrats for your submission on your first game jam!

Liked the combat mechanics (the void was my favorite) and I found you created a big map considering the jam's deadline.

The music and the SFX were pleasant to hear.

For some reason, some parts of the map dropped the FPS.

Overall, a good job!

Delivery Boy by waptaincaffles 2023-05-03T20:06:19Z

OMG! What an addictive game!

The pixel art is simply divine and I loved the little details: the money splash, the musical notes when the phone is rigging, the smartphone interface... Seriously, very nice.

Question: Your character was inspired in Fry, from Futurama? I found them very similar

Fry.png

Hamazon Waremouse by Hoshinu 2023-05-04T14:22:49Z

Beautiful pixel art and well use of the theme. However I think that I don't understood what exactly to do...

Despite been so loud, I liked the music

Witch Brunnette by joao-marcello 2023-05-02T13:01:31Z

@stalemeat thanks for the feedback . I will work on the Witch's physics to increase the weight when pressing 'down'.

Witch Brunnette by joao-marcello 2023-05-03T14:59:14Z

@teun-de-vries Thanks for the feedback!

Sorry, I really forgot the people who like to play with mouse  .

I just uploaded a version with mouse control. Give it a try.

Witch Brunnette by joao-marcello 2023-05-03T15:02:39Z

@renardgames I appreciate your feedback

Now that you mention it, I also preferred the movement with a greater deceleration in the x axis.

I uploaded a fixed version.

Witch Brunnette by joao-marcello 2023-05-03T22:01:51Z

@rabbert unfortunately the online leaderboard only works on the Windows version, sorry for that

Yeah, the 100k points from @blazerdom it's scaring me until now (my best was only 18k, so don't be so disappointed)

Witch Brunnette by joao-marcello 2023-05-03T22:18:09Z

@blazerdom You pointed some REALLY useful feedback here, huh? (It's times like this that I miss having a beta tester)

Let me talk about some points you mentioned:

- "I also noticed that bats periodically for some reason fly away. I think you needlessly limited their number."

I don't limited their number, but his time in field (20/25 secs). That's needed because the game quickly turn into a chaos if the player resolve don't immediately kill them and maybe that would frustrate some players.

As the time pass, the time for add a new bat will decrease but a I notice that even the minimum is a bit too large for some skillful players like you. I made some tests and adjusted some game parameters and now it seems a bit more balanced, but I will not uploaded the new version to not be unfair with others players trying to beat your score and with you, that spend some time making this absolutely insane score (yeah, I'm still impressed; when I have some time I will try to beat you to restore my Dev's dignity  )

- "The optimal strategy at the moment is to fly above the ground, from one edge of the level to the other, parabolic around the enemies and not distracted by the falling wings."

Same strategy I use but you probably mastered the bouncing mechanic better than me hahaha!

By the way, very thanks for the detailed feedback

Witch Brunnette by joao-marcello 2023-05-06T11:58:20Z

@luxiffre Thanks for the feedback!

The player's movement was adjust and now it turns immediately to left/right.

About the bounce I'm still tuning some game parameters to reach some balance.

- "You can still add another level of difficulty by making it so that each additional bounce adds even more points"

This I will definitely add in post jam version (actually, it was the initial idea, but I had to change it because of jam's deadline) :sob:

Witch Brunnette by joao-marcello 2023-05-06T12:07:27Z

@reef thanks a lot for the feedback!

Let me talk about some points you suggested:

- "Something else that might have been fun is having to pick up things from different heights, like apples from a tree"

That's was my initial concept, but I had to limit the game due the jam's deadline (but I will add this feature in a post jam version)

- "The mushrooms on the ground are low, and the falling bat wings are a dynamic target, something always up high would have been fun too"

Good point, I hadn't thought about that! I will definitely implement this!

About LÖVE: the love.js it's really great nowadays, but we need use it with some caution (no threads, no FFI, no stream audio, keep the game simple, etc)

Witch Brunnette by joao-marcello 2023-05-06T21:57:29Z

@aviv-levy Glad that you liked it

The mouse coordinates only works properly if played in fullscreen mode (think I should add this info here in the Ludum Dare jam's page to guide others players).

Out of Time by Benjamin Gearig 2023-05-03T15:41:17Z

Too shame it isn't finished (I supposed)

The controls seems very responsive and the pixel art is nice, but I missed some objective (I just following the arrow's direction, but reaching there don't give me nothing).

G.E.L.D - Guild Express Loot Delivery by Lucas Taniolo 2023-05-06T12:19:34Z

Amazing pixel art! The care you had with details is impressive! Liked the music and SFX too.

However, I found a bit tricky play it with mouse and keyboard combination, maybe add an option to play only on keyboard might be a good idea...

Overall a great submission! Good job!

Haitatsuin no kaeru by kartun04 2023-05-04T15:20:28Z

Pretty graphics. Work on a parallax background would be a nice touch.

On the other hand, the gameplay need some polish: most of the time the jump does not allow the player cross the snow on the way and wasn't clear what was the objective of the game...

Solar Eclipse by Luxiffre 2023-05-05T01:26:56Z

Wow! Nice platform. One of the most mood games I've played in the jam until now (yeah I'm a huge fan of platforms  ).

Interesting idea of using the attack command together with the double jump, though this makes the game a lot harder to master.

The pixel art is beautiful and I loved the design of your main character (remember me Bill from Dragon Ball Super).

The music give the Asian climate that your game intended to convey, but I missed some more elements from that culture to be perfect.

Some suggestions: - Add some checkpoints would be a great addiction to your game, considering his difficult. - The dialogues take up a lot of screen space and distracting after a while. Turn their off after we dead could be one solution or else you could shrink the font size.

Overall a great game! Good job!

Valhalla Calling by Aviv Levy 2023-05-06T21:04:30Z

Such amazing retro feeling! Congrats!

The art is simply phenomenal: the minimalist pixel art is great and the use of shaders just enhance his beauty.

For some strange reason, even reading the tutorial and knowing that we could use dash, I did'n t use in the game (??)

The music and SFX were also pleasant to hear.

Seriously, you did a GREAT job here, and it's even more impressive to know that you did it all by yourself! Good job!

Delivery Survivor by Smoky01 2023-05-03T13:38:06Z

Unfortunately I couldn't play the game.

My PC's resolution is 1366x768 and the game was not adjusted to it. I couldn't even get out of the tutorial screen (I tried the download version too and it has the same problem).

Crazy Chimichanga: The Pixelated Adventure by pezdqk 2023-05-03T13:30:51Z

Nice pixel art and funny music haha!

The map sometimes generates obstacles in a unfair way and the hit boxes seems a bit off, but overall, a good job.
