The sound track was so relaxing and the gameplay was so funny, when I was first playing it I was like "this isn't that hard" then the ads starting popping up and that made the game so challenging, the art and sound design is so well made. Ps: if you open the 'internet browser' (aka, the game) more than once, one of them won't work - intentional? And it was hard to tell which levels are unlocked. At first I thought I had access to them all, so I wasn't worried when I closed the 'browser' for a second to chill, and wanted to reopen it and continue my game(but could only access level one...)

The popups were hilarious at first, but by the end it was just hindering the gameplay and it got annoying.
The artwork is fantastic, (even for the popups), the music is fun (I love the occasional meows), and the gameplay, when not hindered by popups, was also a lot of fun to figure out! The levels are nicely designed.

There's a tiny bug I found in the last level; when going downward, the blue displays the wrong arrow direction when clicked.

I loooooooooooved this entry. Positioning the game as a game in a game was pretty cool. Led to interesting interactions like the popups. Reminded me of a certain era of the internet, hahaha. But yeah the controls were also simple but very effective. I had a love hate relationship with the lack of general text in the game to tell you what is expected of you. Loved it because I discovered the game naturally and hate because there were times I just wish I knew what to do next. But hate is a strong word. I didn't hate any part of this game. I loved it throughout.

This game is incredible! A fast paced little puzzler wrapped in some of the most adorable, cleanest art I've seen. I could gush for hours about the vibes on offer - absolute top tier. Noting beats the off-kilter aesthetics of rainbow vista. And I love your sense of humor - "Best streamer is online" fuggen sent me for some reason.
And the 'crashed' symbol - equal parts hilarious and adorable.
Just looking at the itch page alone is a total joy - what I wouldn't give to have a little programmer cat icon.

I never hated popups as much! Very interesting use of it as a mechanic. It would be awesome if the music loop was a bit longer, but it definitely matches the look and tone of the game. The "virtual desktop" was also a nice touch. Very awesome execution of the theme. :)

The Windows XP Cat OS was amazing!
Most of the functions were very nice, although I just got to play the game after I read a comment over here (my dumb ass thought the explorer was to "warp levels" only, and the start button was elsewhere).
The game itself is pretty cute, with a super basic mechanic but works very well when things get hectic. As funny as the ads were, I would rather have them easier to remove. The close button on all windows was a tad too small. The 10 levels have a very good difficulty progression.
The audio is also neat. Chill song and clean sound effects.
I sort of laughed when I found out the credits window, good job!

I just love the energy of this game. Only thing I'd say is the popups aren't predictable and come at some hard moments but that doesn't feel like what the game is about. This is just fun in its own way. A simple game dressed in a very ridiculous and amazingly charming wrapper. Really well done.
THE VISUALS ARE STUNNING, the best digital art I've seen so far on Jam. The music is lively and fills me with the urge to dance. The computer simulation is very well designed. I seriously laughed at the ads that came out during the game even I didn't focus on the game after checking some of them, it's a bit difficult to control more than one motorcycle and the pop up ads spawn a little too often, I keep dying until I turn them off XD. Purrrrfect!!

The game starts out carefree but very quickly gets stressful! I had a challenging (but fun) time trying to manage multiple delivery cats! I did think that the windows were a little bit hard to close, but maybe that's part of the challenge :joy_cat:

I'm giving this a 0 because every time I clicked the Hot Kittens In My Area ad it was a scam! Just kidding :-). I loved the fake ad popups and this such a cool and unique idea. Genuinely enjoyed playing. Good job!
These advertisement are INSANE, it's actually just like on YouTube. Luckily the first two levels were a breeze to get through, but the rest of the levels are really tedious. Some ads take up most of the screen and sometimes I click a deliverer wrong and I had to restart. Like the mixed art style though.

I'm a sucker for fake operating systems and this game was an absolute treat! <3 I thought the gameplay was really simple at first but it got challenging really quick, it really puts your multitasking skills to the test. The best part has to be the popups though, I really wasn't expecting those and oh my god they're the funniest thing ever I need more of these. Maybe the only nitpick is that the music could have been longer but it's okay! Loved it a ton!

Fun idea, I don't think I played a game yet where the deliveries can block themselves, it's an interesting concept.
The only critiques I have would be related to the clicking, the moving of the drivers using right and left mouse button is a bit confusing when perspectives change and the button to close the ads is so small it became more annoying than the ads themselves, but wait, I guess that's realistic to real ads haha
Also, I would totally be using an add blocker, so not that immersive XD

I am a 45 yo father, probably one of the oldest people playing this game. I am a single father to my Son, who is 14 now. My son got this game for Christmas in 2021 from his uncle, so we installed it on his computer and he started playing. By the end of the week he had 24 hours on this game. This was horrible for me, as it was already hard for me to find ways to spend time with my son, as he is always out with his friends or just watching YouTube. So i decided to make a Steam account and get this game to see if I could maybe play alongside him. I loaded into the game, picked my character and world and started playing but I was stuck on what you where supposed to do. I asked my Son for help and he hosted a game for me to join. I loved it as it was the best time I had spent with my Son since my wife had died. This game has ever since brought me and my son closer again and now we actually spend time together outside the house together as well. This game reminded me that there's fun to be had in everything, and it has brought both me and my Son many happy memories.
holy moly this is some of my favorite art and UI design ever! love the neko kitty details all across the OS. i really dig the humor in the art direction, i wish that all ads in real life were replaced with these ones. ^^

The graphics were incredibly well-done and added to the overall immersive experience. I found the game to be quite difficult and the theme to be very silly. The whole fake virus angle and the abundance of cat-related elements felt very silly.
I appreciate the added difficulty the pop-up ads provided, but I found them to be a bit difficult to close. Eventually, I started shoving them off-screen to get back to the game quicker. What inspired the decision to include pop-ups during gameplay?
I enjoyed the challenge of the last two levels and was glad that I was able to finish the game. However, I was left wondering about the sad-looking cat that was pointed at after completing the last level.

I thought I click on it and it turns towards the house, but it was driving in the opposite direction. Desktop simulation just killed me! Cool idea. You are great fellows! Nice team art!
Pop-ups could be further developed via sounds and maybe some detriments from clicking on them (e.g. another pop-up if you click anywhere on the current pop-up except the window title bar)

Really fun little game! I loved the classic windows XP look. Controlling the cats got pretty intuitive after a few rounds. This game really benefits from the full-screen option, which I first had to find. If I had one gripe, it would be that the windows shut down button doesnt actually exit the game.

I suck at this game tremendously but I love it anyway! It's really funny. I thought that popups will be frustrating but they are not, the balance is in the happy place. Music is really bouncy and now lives rent free in my head. Great job!

Wow that was nerve racking even by level 3. I saw the yellow cat and I was like "Oh that cat is my rival. I just need to not hit the yellow cat" but then I realized I'm controlling 2 cats! Also the pop ups were annoying, hilarious, and a great mechanic.
I never seen a game like this where you control the direction with right or left mouse clicks. That is super innovative. I was getting so stressed trying to move the cats around with the clicks. Really great game!

Whaaat? How did you manage to make a game with so many people? You need to give a talk or make a blog post about logistics and coordination, it would be interesting to know because in such a short time you can't spend much time coordinating or otherwise you don't get work done, etc.
@sergilazaro We were all friends for a long time, and we worked on other projects together before! Almost everyone in the team is also from the same game dev college, so we know how we work and what we can and can't do. We were also on discord calls 24/7 :3 Can't speak for the programmers, but as artist we made a list of everything we had to do the very first day, then we had a short talk about what everyone prefered to do, like ui, character animations, map decorations, coloring, etc. When everyone had their things assigned we just worked until we finished everything! we came up with more assets as time went on, so we just gave them to the person that was free at the time. Everything came together well (I think) bc we had an "art director" and every asset had to be approved by them to be considered finished, for example we would send it and they would say "make this color more red", "delete this line", "add this", etc. Hope that helped! <3

OOOOMMMMMGGGG this game is so CUTE really loved the ads but I feel like maybe in mid game there could be a game mechanic to add like an add blocker or something to reduce the frequency of pop ups cause it does get rather annoying towards the end but over all great game loved the messages on some of the ads (one of em even outed me for a sec, wew glad no one was around to see me panic)
Fantastic presentation! All of the art was fantastic, the UI was extra AF and I loved it! The gameplay was simple but engaging. The music was a bit too short of a loop imo, it got pretty repetitive... The only thing that I might have tampered with is the way left and right clicking work, it can be a little frustrating when you need to set turns at the start of the level but right clicking on one goes left and right clicking on the other goes right. With the already artificial difficulty of having to close gay miku, any little bit helps. I do very much appreciate the arrows though! Great game!

This is a very cool game! At first, I considered for a very long time what is in the main menu. In the game itself, I was very attracted to virus pop-ups. However, in more difficult levels, they no longer amused, but annoyed, since in simpler levels, when skipping a turn, there is still some chance to correct the situation, in the last 2-3 levels this already leads to defeat, due to the large number of vehicles and dead-ends. The last levels involve long manipulations, which is why the level is not so much difficult as it takes a long time to complete them. They are long to go through, and all those errors at the end of the level with virus pop-ups no longer seem so funny. But I must say, the design is very good! It's just the kind of game that can get really pissed off, but they're really good.
Sometimes :x: button on the window doesn't work so I pressed many times to close the window. If the button would be bigger it could help to save the situation. I understand that virus popup windows have small close buttons, but all other windows have buttons of the same size. Closing worked for me only on pressing the upper left part of the button. It would be nice if the button worked over its entire surface. I had a fullscreen, which I somehow managed to do in the browser version by unchecking and rechecking the corresponding option.
Also, I would like to cancel directions on drivers. Like press left+right mouse buttons to make them go straight because sudden truck is appeared. You could make the trucks come smoothly from off-screen instead of suddenly appearing in the middle of a crossroads. Then a player with drivers at the edge of the level would not lose because of cars suddenly appearing.
Laughed from many moments in the game, memes are gold. Pull the development team out of the recycle bin and put it in "Favorites" folder :heart:

I love the art, the cats are super cute, the gameplay is OK but the pop-ins are super frustrating. The game revolves only around luck and you can finish a level if the pop-ins don’t come in your way.

This game is sooo good, my motor coordination screammed in agonizing pain every time a pop-up showed up, but overall this game is simply awesome.
The music can become a bit annoying after a wile, but besides that this game is purr-fect (maybe chill a little with the pop-up to help the less dexterous?)

Neat game! I played through 10 levels, replaying many of them until I passed because I kept crashing haha. I remember vaguely in LD51 I played a game called cat.exe (https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/51/$301111) that also featured a cat game on a nostalgic windows pc. That entry had a very different cat game, but the pc menu concept was kind of similar if you wanted to reference it! Also, very impressed by the size of your team and all of the collab it would have taken to push this game out. Cool art, and nice music. I agree with a previous comment about increasing the size of the X on the ad windows, but I didn't have any other issues than that - it was a unique obstacle. Maybe a "speed up" button could be a nice-to-have feature if you're confident in the cat delivery paths, but out of 10 levels I probably would only push that button twice.
Excellent audiovisual presentation. Great graphics and aesthetics. A simple and working arcade puzzle idea. In general, everything's cool, but I don’t quite understand why there is so many distracting popping spam in this game. Is it some kind of post-modern trolling? Still, the game's good, beaten it with pleasure.

I played it through till the end even though it's not the type of game I tend to play, but the difficulty really helped to keep me determined. It was hard enough that I had to replay levels a few times, but easy enough to avoid frustration. At the third level I got stuck for a bit because I didn't realize that you could guide the non-pink cats as well, but I figured it out eventually. Also, really great job on the graphics and the OS and ads.

Awesome presentation! Dressing the whole game as this CatOS is very clever and adds a lot to the first impressions. Graphics are cute and pleasant. The color scheme is superb! I also liked the music - it went well with the atmosphere and added the rhythm to my playthrough. I imagined that it's exactly what the delivery cats are listening to while working :smiley_cat:
I'm not sure how I feel about the pop-up adds. While they are amusing and add a layer of difficulty, most of the time I just found them superfluous, and sometimes even hard to close.
Very nice difficulty curve - wonderful design there. Great work on the game and congrats for managing such a big team effectively!
Absolutely stunning and adorable submission!! I loved everything from the art to the audio and gameplay!! The pop ups were so funny I actually got crashed multiple times because I was laughing so hard at them haha. Really amazing submission, great job!! I really can't express just how much I love this game

Maybe the music loop is extremely short (like ours) but for a jam it's really good!

Really cool game :D Those pop-up windows were SO FRUSTRATING haha. Special kudos for the Y2K main-menu aesthetic.
Small critisim: the X button is slightly too difficult to click on, and there is no feedback when you click it (so when I have to click on it multiple times I don't know if it's done on purpose or a bug)
I managed to enable fullscreen thx to SurWeaver's comment, but I had to check it in the settings *then* click once more on the window. It was really useful as click area are quite small. I often just drag the ad popups too, seems more reliable than closing them.
At first I clicked on the Desktop icons to open the manual but it didn't work. It would be nice if it was an actual shortcut.
I feel like the core game would have been a nice game on its own. To counterbalance the lack of popups, you'd simply have more delivery cats to manage and obstacles to avoid!
@hsandt Thanks for the feedback! You can open the apps through the desktop icons but you have to double click them, like real shortcuts :3
