Still one of my favourite Ludum Dare entries ever, I think about his game at least once a year <3
Maaaaan, I still think about the soundtrack a lot <3
Sweet game! The gameplay is interesting and works really well! The graphics are simple, but fitting. The egg's expressions are priceless! The music is OUTSTANDING, one of my favourite songs I heard this Ludum Dare! All in all it creates a great mood.
Great entry!
Amazing game, awesomely polished! At first the heights are hard to distinguish, but you get used to that really fast. It's astounding how much content you managed to create in just 48 hours! Easily one of my favourites.
Nice narrative! Errm, well. Not really nice. But good. Well, if you take it literally not good, either. But you get the gist! Sweet game! Or sour, oder bitter, to be more appropiate. Maaaan...
I liked the story you created :) The music is great, too! When you aim the knife from the side or below, it often does not register hitting the plushie (or bunny  ).
I love the subtleness of the tutorial! Everything was instantly clear without breaking immersion. And speaking of that - I'm really impressed by the atmosphere! Starting with the title screen you don't really think about and an ending that wraps that up perfectly. Nice job!
Sadly the performance is really lacking on my PC. But the concept is really cool and works quite well. You created a well made dreadful atmosphere! So I liked spending my time with your game, even if it lagged horribly. The UI could use some polishing, but it's functional, so that's all we could ever want for a Ludum Dare. Nice job!
Man, the world you created is amazing! The tone is great, as is the atmosphere. Somehow the ripped generic pictures work insanely well. The mechanics are interesting, but sadly reeeally hard to master. @goplite and @peachtreeoath made some great suggestions I can only agree to!
I loooove the soundtrack you made. The song is amazing. I beg you to put it on YouTube! :)
Nice entry.
The Timer seems to be really short. Which is a shame because there is so much to see in your world! With the nonskippable intro scene I sadly couldn't be bothered to try till I beat the game. But I saw a lot and it was totally worth it! Graphics are insane!
Is there any reason you opted out of Humor? Because I would have rated you highly!
As a game, it is quite easy and not that much fun. I understadn however, that it is abput the journey. And a great journey it is! The 3-color art direction is superb, the style is really cool. I like, how it all plays out. Music would have helped immensely in setting the mood, but it played in my overly imaginative head anyway, haha. Nice entry!
This plays amazingly well! The graphics work, the characters are nice, music is TOP NOTCH!!
Sweet entry, very well done!
Maaan, I love this concept! It would fit perfectly on smartphones :)
The execution is really good. You nailed the feeling of leading an entire skeleton cohort. The dialogs are a nice addition. Combined with the various colors, it gave the skeletons some real personality. Graphics are really cool, too. I especially love the design of the green enemies with the bandanas. So cute <3
Music would have been nice. In my head, I knew, how the soundtrack was supposed to sound like. Or at least would sound like, if I were in charge, haha.
Great entry, you definitely need and deserve more votes! :)
This game is quite basic, but really fun while it lasts! Raiding occult dungeons is totally a thing Gunther would do in his free time!
Graphics are clean and functional and the music, while not your own, is a nice choice.
Sweet little game!
Truth be told, you won me over even before I downloaded the game with that insanely clever punny title! The game plays incredibly well. Nothing new, gameplay wise, but the execution is top notch and the humor awesome! I totally didn't expect the tone your game has judging by the screenshots. Makes it even more hilarious! And those tasks... One can feel the fun you had while making this. And this fun is infectious. Really great game!
Amazing entry! Stellar pixelart, extremely fitting music, fluent gameplay, awesome use of the theme! I always wanted to play a cult simulator! There is so much content, too! My only gripe is, that I didn't know what to do, after I killed the big demon guy. Is there more content or is that basically the end?
Awesome game, a 5 for sure!
And you even made a trailer for it :two_hearts:
I loved it! The game plays really smoothly and the conflict between pleasing the two parties is very tense. The screenshake and reddening is amazing. So much better than a simple bar like you'd see in a lot of other games. The graphics, of course, are amazing. I like the clean look.
I think the jump was maybe a little fast. For me, it was hard to adjust to that. Other than that, everything about this game was quite perfect! I had a lot of fun.
Great job!
Music and sound were really good choices, too!
Haha, I love your artstyle! It's like well made and crappy at the same time :D Compliments the tone and humor very well! A very funny game, I liked it :)
I think, the voiceover could use some more inflection, it sounds a bit monotonous. It's hilarious, though. And being there in the first place is a big plus! Nice one.
When you get to close to the bottom of the screen, you can't move up anymore and are lost to the domain of the betentacled eyeballs. Apart from that, propably a bug, yes. Thank you for playing! :)
I love the idea of singleplayer coop-game! I can easily see it as a main mechanic in fleshed out, properly released game - in fact, I'd love to! It works really well, as do the other gameplay mechanics :) Graphics are reaaaally cool and sound design too. My only nitpick is the ridiculous "Dinner is ready!" that kind of hurt the mood a little to me.
All in all a great entry! Thanks for creating it!
You seem to have a penchant for weird, dark stuff.
No wonder they starved on that diet...
The style is simple, yet so great! I love the atmosphere created by the innocent simplicity of the graphics, the warm soundtrack and the cute sound effects! The animations for the day are great, too!
Such a lovely little game :)
I'd love to play it, the art looks superb. However, there seems to be no download file attached on your itch page ๐ค
The idea is pretty neat. The texts are cool and were what made me stay. The transformation of the character is a nice effect. Good story! However, the gamplay was really infuriating. I have to say, I quit on the alternating paths level. It was to much random restarting for me to bear.
Nice game that just works! Apart from the humor I especially like the sound effects! It put a smile to my face :)
I have to agree with @woofdog99 , this game could easily be released! Insane production values. You even have a trailer already!
Everything feels just soooo right. Graphics and audio are top notch. The responseviness is incredible - The screenshake made my day (I will definitely look into the talk you posted!)!
Thank you for making this game. It's a favourite for sure.
Can I give you some productive feedback? Hmm... Maybe the enemies in Level III are a bit hard to see. But then I guess that could also be the point.
I like the game. It's a bit hard to figure out the controls, but once you did that, it's smooth play.
That dog is like the cutest illustration of a dog I've seen in a long time <3
Well, @bartosz basically has said everything there is to say yet.
I really like the premise and it's not hard to see a solid foundation of your game here! Art is really nice and music works well too!
I like the idea and the Squish is super cute <3
Sadly, to me the mechanics have their potential, but weren't that much fun in this game. Basically it boils down to a platformer with a "Nope, you can't make this jump!" effect, but the next time you can. There is no strategy involved, you just repeat what you wanted to do the first time. It can become a bit tedious in the longer passages. Some puzzle aspect where you'd need to time your jump or get stuck when a corpse blocks the way (so you'd actually need the R button) would have been nice.
Anyways, machenically the game is solid, the jumping feels good and Squishes are incredibly lovable, so you have a solid groundwork for a fun game!
Wow, the mechanics work really well! They remind me of my favourite part of FTL, alloting your limited resources. This makes combat quite stressful and I love it that way. I thought about maybe making the game pause while opening the reactor screen, but on the other hand that would take away from the fun. Maybe you could make it bigger to have it easily accesible. However, the implementation works really well as is already.
Graphics are minimalist but neat! The short looping soundtrack does all it needs to do.
Great job! :)
I really like the slightly distressing mood your little world creates! The designs are wonderfully weird in their strange creepiness. This worked really well for me. The animation of the legs works really well, too! This all lifts the basically very simple graphics up by quite a few steps!
As with every silent game, sound would have been nice, but it was not hard imagining it, so it didn't hurt the experience by much for me.
The game plays fluently, but fighting the enemies is not that fun, because everything is very tanky. Dealing and receiving more damage would have made it more fun, because right now dodging is very hard while still dealing considerable damage. It boils done to two contrahents standing in front of each other and sponging all their shots.
All in all a nice entry!
And now you have your deserved 20 votes :)
Gameplay is basic, but functional. What makes this game good is the atmosphere! It all feels good, even without character animation. It creates a world I'd like to explore!
Also, I want to compliment on your font selection. To must of us fonts are more of an afterthought. You nailed the atmosphere even before I saw anything from the game, just because you took the time to find some *truly* fitting fonts. Nice job!
I liked this game! The graphics are a bit barebones and a few effects could notch up the experience a lot. The music was amazing, though! And boy, the gameplay! This game plays really well and after losing initially, I was totally hooked to try again! Great job!
The idea is ingenious! Sadly, no one plays it right now.
But the effort is vastly appreciated and this game has so much raw potential! I am in awe!
The "secret room" was the first room I stumbled into :D I love secret rooms and self awareness! Made me laugh out loud. All in all a really funny little game with a warm and cozy atmosphere. I'm amazed how much character and atmosphere you were able to convey with such a low pixel count. Graphic design is really great, as is the audio. Very well done!
This was unexpected :frowning2:
I hope the cow ends up in limbostore.heaven :grimacing:
You conveyed the message very well.
This game is totally not what I was expecting, it's hilarious :D
As others have pointed out, the gameplay is not the strongest, but it's functional, buttery smooth and propably not the main point of the experience - graphics and worldbuilding are absolutely wonderful and make the game really memorable! We at Beebo Studios always appreciate a good fish :)
Your game gave me a good laugh, well done!
The premise is super unique and dark. I felt the events could be a little more varied, they start to become repetitive quite fast. On the other hand, trench warfare was really repetitive, in the worst way imaginable. In that regard you really feel the worthlessness of your actions, of your personality. Duck, shoot, repeat. Then die. Definitely strikes the right chords.
I don't even know what to say. You spent your 5 hours extremely well
Very well done Nuclear Throne clone, that plays incredibly smooth! Except the upgrade screens, it's a hassle you have to select the upgrade with WASD and then click on it with the mouse. Maybe it's just a bug of the web version.
But graphics are neat, the music fits, gameplay is amazing - well done game!
Also, your character design is amazing! It took a moment, but it's simply amazing. Our main character approves ;)
Love the concept! The execution is really well done, too. Nice graphics, great atmosphere. The frantic Highscore chasing gameplay reminds me of those freeware flash games I played as a child for hours. Well done! Also, I laughed out loud!
P.S.: My final score after 2 tries was 285. I'd love to stay, but there's soooo many other Highscores to chase... ๐
I really like the premise and it all looks quite beautiful in a retro kind of way!
Super cute artsytyle, amaaazing sound design (reciting all those sources is quite genius to set the mood!), hectic and fun Wario-Ware-esk gameplay, a goofy and cute story - what not to love? Again, a really strong contender! :)
Sadly I encountered a bug where I could not start the fire in the final round. The fanning worked fine, but flame and temperature did not increase :( Apparently noone else has encountered this bug so far, so I'll propably try out again later to see the ending.
This time it worked fine, I guess it really was some kind of bug.
And now I'm actually laughing because I played through mostly the whole game again to see THAT  Awesome. I'll keep the last song play for a while, I hope you'll put it on your website ;)
This is so dumb. I absolutely love it.
Whoa, this game feels incredibly polished! It's one of those gems where you forget about it being a Ludum Dare entry altogether. The overall mood is outstanding, it feels like a real, living world. You captured the adventurous spirit one feels when first exploring the World of a Zelda Game (or Minit, though because of the strong and coherent vampire theme your gameworld feels even more alive than Minit's). Thank you for making this game!
The gameplay is quite basic, but functional. I wished I could see a bit further, maybe in the direction I'm facing. Or have some kind of indicator where the enemies are because the camera is zoomed in so much...
.. on the other hand we all know why it is zoomed in so much, and for good reason, because your graphic assets are abolutely outstandingly amazing! Music too!
I had fun playing :)
A really fun and particularly well realised game that feels extremely polished! Gameplay is smooth and feels even smoother because of the outstanding art direction. Very, very well done!
The mood you manage to conjure is incredible. It's even better because of the goofy contrast with the dialog scenes. Trying to impress ~~Bowsette~~ Emna was an amazing experience!
The feels. All the feels. This game resonates way too much with everyone. It's brutal.
Easily 5 Stars.
Love it! It also looks so clean, very professional! The game has a really great feel, the smoothness of animation, the stylish graphics and the great soundtrack all add a lot of ooomph to this :)
This game warms my heart <3
The graphics are cute, it's all super stylish, you **totally** nailed Amsterdam - anyone would have recognised it instanly! But the music... Whoa. This is so infinitely nice. Everything fits together so well, even the notes you produce. I am in awe. This is one amazing piece of art.
Wow, the presentation is amazing! Just add some audio-feedback for delivering a potion and I couldn't be happier! I love your graphics, they are breathtaking! Especially the character design  The game plays really fluidly which is very nice. Very well done!
The game works really well mechanically, I love the fast pacing! It's all quite fluent and the feedback is really nice! The graphics are also quite cool. I love running around on this giant's table and trying my best to outsmart him, I really feel it. Well done! Audio would be a great addition, but it's a game jam after all. I felt it to be a little unfair/unintuitive that the hand cano damage you when it's flying. But with just a tiny bit of polish you'll have a really great game! Good job :)
This is super weird, I hope my roommate doesn't judge me
Super innovative idea, great implementation, outstanding graphics and mood, one awesome game!
You have a really solid foundation there! All points on what to improve have already been made in the first comment.
I really liked the movement. It felt really fluid and responsive. Music and sound are fitting. The graphics are super simple, but somehow still pretty charming. With a bit more going on I can totally see this as a pretty cool world you build there. The premise is quite cool, too.
So yeah, maybe the project was a bit ambitious, but one can see the direction you were going for and that's a good one, so still a good job :)
The game is really sweet with a great atmosphere, both graphically and acustically! It plays quite smooth. I'd have loved to be able to use the keayboard for navigating the menu, too. The puzzles are quite simple and the game ends pretty fast, but it's a great premise and you really just want to see more of it! Very well done!
Whoa, this is an incredibly smart puzzler with an incredibly cute coat of paint ๐ฒ
I actually lack words to describe how much I love your game. It's clever, it has a LOT of content, it has a Highscore board (I'm currently in first place, yay!(Nido)), the graphics are positively amazing, the jazzy soundtrack is super slick, the face of the cat after clearing a level is worth playing the game alone, you created a mood that makes it super easy to stick around and not get frustrated... Love, love, love. Even though, I could not make it past the level with the bird and the bunny at all.
The level of polish is absolutely outstanding. Your game is easily among the best ones!
I could play alone, but actually, after that amaaaaazing intro, I'm way to pumped to check this out with friends to prematurely spoil any surprises. I'm hyped! You'll hear from me.
Is there anything to add? This is one hilarious experience, buttery smooth gameplay, graphics and audio on a level from beyond this world (do your artist have instagram or something so I can follow them?), an awesomely dumb idea pumped to 101 %. Love it through and through!
I encountered some bugs. I got stuck in a half destroyed shelf and tried to quit via pause screen. After starting again, I couldn't move at all, so I had to reload the page. On my next try, I could replicate this problem. Maybe something deactivates upon using the quit button? However, on my third try the game went through smoothly, till the scoreboard, were the webplayer crashed after entering my name due to memory overload. Well...
Let's talk about the good parts!
The idea is hilarious, as a nightowl living next to a supermarket I can totally relate! Graphics, animation, music, setting - it's all amazing and conjures the best kind of goofy mood. It's a lot of fun and was totally worth reloading it 2 times! Love it.
I really like the effect of the falling droplets in the more vertical stages. I think a reset button would be a good addition, because sometimes you misplace a platform and die and then you know you'll not be able to finish the level, so you have to intentionally create useless platforms to reset it yourself. But overall a nice little game! You can have this donut instead ;) ๐ฉ
Works quite well and plays smoothly!
I liked the floatiness of the character. The design is really cool, too!
Two things I think could be easily improved: 1) It's a bit straining on the index finger to have to keep clicking. The ability to continuously shoot by holding down the button would be greatly appreciated. 2) Since the game auto-restarts upon death, it's really hard to catch your score.
Was there supposed to be music in the game? I didn't hear any, but I see you did not opt out of audio, so it might have been a bug in the WebGL version.
Otherwise, cool little game, I liked it! :)
The combat works fine and the style is amazing! A great compo entry :)
Man, this looks so amazingly good! The mood you conjure is absolutely, positively, outstandingly awesome! Great writing, too! The gameplay loop works really well and by the time you figured the game out, it gets really stressful to reach the end. Really well done, thanks for making this gem!
Inspired by one of my favourite comics :D
It plays quite smoothly. I dislike I have to navigate the menue with the mouse while the game plays via keyboard.
But good entry nonetheless!
Was it made in GB Studio? I always wanted to try that one myself! Really cool you used it for Ludum Dare - and in such a great way!
It is quite hard, but reeeaaaally fun! The game plays incredibly smooth, the two enemy types work well, graphics and animation are very charming and the music is incredibly cool. Very well done!
Nice little runner. The graphics are nice and the game plays quite smoothly! Jumping is unexpectedly floaty (you can even fly), but it works. As others have mentioned, the music is a bit monotonous. I didn't give it annoying, though.
It works really well on mobile! Overall, good job on the game :)
Quite a fun game, plays really smoothly! You created a reeeaaally weird atmosphere there. The walking style is something I haven't seen before. The coin blend to the next scene is also something special. I love it!
With the current camera you are constantly on edge because an undead crab could pop up from top or bottom anytime, it's close to survival horror
But great mechanics, smooth gameplay, nice concept, super cute crab migration :crab: , awesome Enter-the-Gungeon-esk graphics, effective sound design - your game has a really nice atmosphere and overall feel, I had a lot of fun, even if it was quite difficult with just a single life! If the camera worked as intended, I seriously would not have a single negative point, really well done!
Wow, your game plays really well and the presentation is very good! I really like your simple pixel art style! The music was really good and well fitting, too! I love this game!
The game starts out a bit slow, on the other hand this is the PERFECT kind of tutorial - the player learns all the rules without even realising. Also, you can just skip it by level selcting, so it'S okay. The amount of polish is amazing! This game feels better made than a lot of games on the AppStore!
Wow, this game is a real challenge! I really like concept and execution, you are basically forced to speedrun the game, but in your own time? It may sound paradoxical, but it's actually quite genius. Very well done.
Haha, this is a really funny and weird premise. I liked how you kill people just for a nicer living space :D
Wow, your game really deserves more votes, too! It plays like a charm, the mechanics are really sound. I don't even know how long I played, but I played till all my sins were paid. 5 Minutes? 10? 15? Even longer? Could be. It's the kind of game that makes you forget time.
The graphics are really nice and cozy. And the music, though not made by yourself, is a really fitting pick, too! Very well done!
Whoa, you crammed a lot of content into this one! Art and audio are really well done, I love to see my room evolve by my actions :) I don't even know what's so addicting about your "gameplay" loop, but I couldn't stop clicking and enjoying and now I'm a star! :)
Well done!
I really liked the premise and the groundwork is really solid! The downgrade dynamic is pretty nifty and well implemented. I had no issues with aiming at all, it felt really fluent und respondend! The graphics work well and the sound design is quite good! After four tries I'm pretty sure I explored the entire reachable map, but sadly could not find I way to get higher up. Is it acutally possible to finish the game?
Nevertheless, nice entry!
I just now realised it's a compo entry :open_mouth:
Simply amazing. Most teams would not be able to make a game like this in 72 hours.
Good clean arcade action _indeed_! Send your game back to the eighties, charge a quarter to play and - boom! - you are rich by now and the Gold Digger would have stared in several platformer, racing, party and other spin-off games. A-ma-zing job!
This game feels insanely polished! It plays so smoothly and looks so amazingly good, it's a blast to play! I'm actually a bit sad I don't have a second player right now to share the fun!
This game is amazing! I like the no-nonsense approach regarding handholding. You really have to think from the start! The graphics work well and the music is really good. The gameplay is really innovative and the puzzles are really rewarding, great job!
Wow, you made mental math fun! Who would have thought this is even possible? :D The game has a great flow and and even more amazing feel. It's all so fully realized, perfectly round and polished. Additionally, your audiovisual art direction is, simple put, outstandingly marvellous. Among the most beautiful Ludum Dare entries for sure, quite possibly the best one.
Thank you for making this gem!
It's quite frantic, but really fun! I love how you went all in with the effects. A lot of fun to play, well done!
Wow, your game is really big! Eventually, I tried to fly through the game, but on top of the big $ on top of the vault my money ran out - quite ironic :D The mechanics are well realized though, good job! :)
The base mechanics work really well! The game looks quite good too, even though it's all very technical, but that really fits. I really appreciate your interpretation of the theme!
As others have pointed out, some finetuning could greatly improve the experience, like a way to judge how much energy you need to spend/keep for the door. The sounds are relatively too loud, too.
But all in all a really, really solid job, especially for a compo game!
You created a really eerie nightmarish atmosphere, amazing job on the graphics and audio front! Gameplay works really fine, too :)
Whoa, the atmosphere in this one blew me totally away :open_mouth:
The camera controls are really wonky and the quickly floating textboxes are a bit irritating and hard to read, but...
The game itself is amazing. The graphics and audio are absolutely wonderful, the world you build is incredibly charming while also spooky... It all gits together. This game just * * feels * * right. Amazing job.
This feels really polished! The gameplay works surprisingly well! Music and graphics are beautiful, this creates a really charming atmosphere. A true little gem you created there :)
One thing to consider: Some European countries use the QWERTZ layout for keyboards (and some AZERTY). It's not that much of a hassle to change the input type, BUT it would still be easier for us QWERTZ users to not be dependent on using the Z key. An easy fix would be to let the Y key do the same thing. Or in general add different possible buttons for different keyboard types. It's a really small thing, but it's much appreciated by foreign users :)
Such a weird little world, I love it!
This game is insanely polished! Your main mechanic is really refreshing, I haven't seen anything like it before. And it works marvelously! The graphics are absolutely charming and the audio design likewise. You created a great mood there! All in all your game feels like a fleshed out, finished product. Awesome job!
I also encountered the bug were you spend money on units by just clicking on them in the shop. For me it was in Level 1. At one point it suddenly worked thoug. Weird.
Anyway, great little game that plays quite well! The simple pixelart actually works really well, it conjured epic pictures in my head :)
I am sorry, I did not really understand the game. Am I supposed to collect "life" to get the game over? Am I supposed to dodge everything? I figured out that with "money" I can fire the coin that destroys objects in its path. So I guess dodging anything but life and money is the goal? It could all be a bit clearer.
The graphics are super simple, but they are charming and work. As do the sound effects.
I have never heard about scratch. It seems to be a really cool project! Contrary to NICO_THE_PRO I don't think you should necessarily use a more powerful engine. It is really cool that anyone can participate whichever way they want and it's also great to hear about all these options you might not even know. So thanks for using scratch!
It's true that you should rate a lot of other games to get a rating in the end. One can only encourage it :)
Anyway, work on clearer instructions and you'll have a nice little game there :)
I like the concept and I'm always in for some gambling ๐
First, some critique: The interface is not quite clear to me. What is the counter above the money counter for? The font for organ and disease is maybe a bit too small. Is audio supposed to be a single sound effect or is that bug? (The effect is really good, though!). Oh, there are also minor typos in the intro.
Now to the good parts!
The presentation is quite strong. Graphics and shader effects are top notch. Great character design and personality! It reminds me a little bit of Papers Please because you too judge strangers by minimal data and possibly decide their fate. A great and gruelling interpretation of the theme. This left a really strong impression with me. The intro also really helps set the mood. Well done!
It's an absolutely genius name to let the player choose for whom to sacrifice! The mehcanics work quite well, it's all really atmospheric. The music is great and the graphics, simplistic as they may be, actually work quite well, too. The sounds for the unenlightened attacking the temples and the scream are maybe a bit on the earpiercing side ':D
But a great entry! I'm very glad I played it :)
Your game feels really well realised and polished. It's outstanding. It's all there - nice and fluent gameplay, amazing graphics and sound, funny writing. It all combines to one amazing adventure I'm glad I could experience. Thanks for making this game!
I too was catching a strong Titan Souls vibe! I love the worldbuilding you guys got going on! I had a blast exploring the map and fighting those imaginative boss designs. Mechanically, the game is quite solid. But the atmosphere created by those neat graphics and great music is what sealed the deal for me. You captured the charm of exploring a foreign world, of BEING in that adventure. So yeah, I'd agree to the early Zelda game comparison, too.
I got stuck on the puzzles, though. The one on the westernmost side I solved by accident, I think. But well, I also didn't put that much time into it to get back to action.
Very well done!
A nice little game with a really nice mood. Your graphics and audio work great in tandem :) The gameplay is a bit monotonous because you just walk from one side to the other. Bill should presort his letters :D However, it can't have been that bad, because I saw through till the end and only really noticed afterwards. The box was a nice touch, like a little puzzle :) Nice job, congrats to your first jammed game :)
You created a really good base for a game! Right now, it is really basic and repetitive, but the mechanics per se are sound and you added nice touches for the mood like the names for all the lost ones.
Quite impressive for a first and solo entry!
Ha! Your game is totally hilarious, too! I love it
It's a real pity the game ends after the first round (reading descriptions really helps, could have saved reloading 2 times ๐คฆโโ๏ธ), because the charming graphics and AWESOME music got me totally pumped. The base mechanics seem pretty sound. Maybe hitboxes for the world objects would be nice. I love how you have 3 different idle states! That gives a lot of personality to your character.
Awesome game! The combat works really well, you really get into a flow. Going the extra mile and implementing a "perfect" parry with the right timing adds a lot to the combat! It's quite fascinating, immediately try again, because you know next time you can do better - and you actually do! It's a great feeling to see yourself progress. Well done! One thing that's a bit confusing though is the missing item descriptions. When you trade for your life, experimentation is not exactly what I want to do as a player. So I agree to @rose , maybe just post them in the game description :) I also found the small, fast attacking eniemies way more dangerous then the bigger ones and the ones with two swords, which seemed a bit counterintuitive. But it's a minor thing, really.
The assets are absolutely gorgeous, too! You really did a splendid job on the art front!
A really great entry, please stay awesome, too! :)
This one is really innovative!
Wow, this game feels incredibly polished! You fully forget it was a LD entry :open_mouth:
Amazingly well done; gameplay, tone, graphics, audio - it all fits - and how it fits!
It's a little like a Darkest Dungeon typing gambling game. I love it.
This was a really fun exerience! I wonder why you opted out of humor because it felt pretty humorous to me. Good job on this one!
This is a really elaborate practical joke :D The presentation is amazing!
The game looks and feels really great! Sound is quite functional.
I think it is quite hard, to evade the zombies, I am unable to last longer than about 30 seconds. Maybe zooming out a bit might help, or speeding up the player/ slowing the enemies. Maybe I just suck. Anyway, it works all quite well and fluently. Paired with your great sense of style, you produced a really nice solid entry! :)
Neat idea, exellent execution! Your art direction is outstandingly amazing! This applies to the audio, too - that tune is otherworldly! And the sound effects are extremely fitting, too! And it's all so funny! And then it was made in only 48 hours and one of your programmers even made ANOTHER game in that time (that I'll totally play now)??
I was brought here via the frontpage and I really hope you'll get your 20 ratings, this game totally deserves it!
The game is really basic, but the basis works fine! The lack of challenge eventually made me fail on purpose to see the ending. I did not quite understand why I was able to go left or right. At first I thought it was kind of a speed up/down, but it did not seem to make a difference.
Graphics and animation are absolutely amazing! I can't believe how much character and mood you could cram into so few pixels! Well done!
Overall a really finde entry :)
I'm worth 10000 Pound and finished in 82.55 seconds (second try, on first I ended up worthless :D).
I really love the game! The super clean presentation resonates extremely well with me. Gameplay is basic, but charming and fun. The Audio fits really well too! Thanks for making this game!
This game is so cozy! You did really well in the audiovisual department to achieve this effect! That's why you forget you are doing the same chore over and over again. Maybe your game is little too much like real life in that regard...
I agree to the others, the platforms could have been placed a lot more generously.
But otherwise the game is really solid! Your storytelling approach works well and the overall mood is phenomenal. Your art is really good, too! A great world you created there.
Good job!
Clever little story type of game and interesting take on the theme!
Ha! I love your world design! The coin is super cute and the rich guys look so comical! Especially the one riding the fly :D The game plays really smoothly and the choice of soundtrack is just perfect. I love this whimsical endless runner! :)
It's amazing how you were able to create this in just 3 days! A great homage to Hammerfight :) Plays well, looks, sounds and feels great - awesome job!
Wow, a Pico-8 game! The game has a really good presentation. Everything flows. Graphics work really well and the sound effects are fitting. An inventory would have been great, but whatever. What amazes me, is how this game got me hooked. On the surface you basically do very little, you just walk around and sometimes pass an obstacle. And yet it got me hooked from start to finish. Somehow your little maze just works. And that is an awesome feat.
Really great puzzler! The mechanics are sound, graphics are nice to look at and the soundtrack is sublime :sunglasses: It offers a good challenge, too. The puzzles are fair and logical. Also, new mechanics are introduced the perfect way to figure them out yourself :)
Gamedev god, indeed! Nothing more to add.
Thank you for implementing the super informative jukebox! 'Face your destiny' is actually playing on repeat right now :notes:
The writing is really strong and funny! Insane presentation, with incredible pixelart! I had so much fun with this. Seriously, it's 5 Stars easiliy. Even if it's more interactive story and less game. But it's an awesome story!
I played up to 106 and then stopped because my economy was still strong yet the game seemed to offer nothing new. But, boy, was it a journey up to that point! I love, love, love what you did here! The presentation is super strong, obviously, but the gameplay is really addicting, too! I could totally see myself playing an enhanced version on my phone for quite a while :)
Amazingly well done!
Please, please, please do some advertising on the frontpage! It would be a pity if an absolue gem like this would not get a rating in the end.
Great gameplay, awesome mechanics, cute graphics, it's really good!
In my opinion, it just needs some more balancing - my run felt quite easy and there was not much intent to change established minions. The powerups seemed pretty strong in that regard. But still, it's absolutely amazing for the timeframe of the jam!
This definitley is one of the most unique entries I ever played! It's super cute and looks amzing, too! Very nice :)
I love it! You took a very simple base idea, but it does not seem so simple because the levels are tightly designed and the odd choice of objects (a plumbus, why a plumbu? ) had a nice diversity. Graphics are really good and the losing scream is sooo fun  It all comes together in a really sweet package. I love this entry!
One thing I disliked was the controls when you reach the edge of the screen. There is just no chance to rescue yourself when the mouse gets out of bounds. Maybe you could add border where the game screen ends but you still have room to move your mouse.
Amazing idea, wonderfully implemented! Seeing everyone else's timeline fills my heart with joy! timeline-small.png
Super stylish and fun game! The animated intro screen and intro alone sold the game for me :) And the music, oh, it's so incredibly good! It's actually a bit sad that battles are over so quickly because the fighting theme is out of this world (fighting the turrets in the room with the moving platforms took me the longest)!
The moving platforms were difficult to manage because they don't carry you with them. I actually avoided them by dashing over the gap between entrance and exit - did you know, this is possible? :D And in the battle I eventually ignored them and lasered the turrets from safe ground.
Apart from that: Super strong entry! Very well done :smiley_cat:
Regarding style: I really like the graphical style you got going there! I am a bit disappointed Mr. Something doesn not really fit in there. But it's nor big deal of course :) The music is super pleasing and sets a great mood :) The physics sadly don't work as predictably as one would hope in game with an invisible protagonist. I got stuck on slopes a lot or my jumps would not register appropriately. Still, the base idea and atmosphere were charming enough for me to see through it :) Nice little game.
I like the look and feel of your game. Simplistic as the graphics may seem, the Pelinguin und Slimeblob are super cute. Everything has a nice mood to it, I'm especially a fan of the twinkling stars :)
I had problems, though: In the tower like level I was not able to progress upwards because my jump was too low or the slime pushed me out. I could not figure out what to do.
Also, I think the choice of controls is suboptimal. using the arrow keys to move is good, but E is really far from the keypad. On the other hand A and D are used for moving, but I can't jump whit W. This feels weird. And forcing use of the mouse to close dialogues is also a thing I did not like about the controls.
Nevertheless, I am a fan of your cute atmosphere :)
Incredible journey that makes you feel things. I'm not fully sure ewhat things and I am a bit confused, but it touched something inside. I will ruminate on this. I was not dedicated enough to decipher the strange language in the end, but I got "nothing" and "ludum dare" out of it, so it might have been the credits? Anyway, great job, great presentation!
It's amazing what you were able to throw together in just 6 hours! It's clever and engaging and really funny in a very meta way!
The game looks really, really cute and has a nice feel going!. You have some cool ideas there, thanks for publishing your design ideas!
Playing the game sadly feels quite unresponsive. Having to hold E is really counterintuitive, in fact, I only figured it out after looking through the comments. Attacking also feels quite slow/delayed. It sometimes felt like my inputs weren't registered. Maybe the cooldown for attacking could be shorter.
Nevertheless, keep it up, I can see your vision :) Running out of time is part of Ludum Dare :D
This game is truly beautiful and has a lot of potential!
Right now, it feels a lot like a demo, because you introduce all those mechanics, but not a single one has a real moment to shine. Which is totally reasonable because it's Ludum Dare, but it all works so well, that you leave us players with a real craving for more!
Wow, this world clicks immediately! Hilarious setup, awesome characters, graphics that are otherworldly, the moody repetitive song doesn't even seem repetitive (seriously, I only noticed through the other commenter). If only the trading would sometimes be easier to figure out. But still, an amazing puzzle. Everything about your game is great! I love it
Amazingly tense atmosphere! The first runthrough seems nice enough, but once the spikes started to appear, I resented those glaring bunnys and bats. The difficulty ramps up quite sharply with the last obstacle, but it's doable and I felt motivated to beat the game with all four colors. Beautiful monochrome graphics, super clean and clear sound effects and a great choice of ambient music. It all comes together perfectly.
This game is so sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet! The presentation is lovely, starting with muffin sound, ending with like a bazillion beutiful assets - seriously, what kind of artist do are you? :D You can't look at this game without a big smile on your face. At all.
The gameplay is quite simple, but very functional. I can easily see it expanded with more puzzles :)
I think Level 2 was the hardest and I'm not sure I would have been able to beat it without reading your hint. A better introduction to this gameplay concept ingame would help a lot, if you decide to do a post-jam version :) Is it intentional that you can multijump close to the Muffingham Dance Club? Because you can, might be a bug.
But yes, as I said, insanely sweet game that is a lot of fun and makes me feel good
This was one amazing experience! For the first few characters I kinda lacked information what they are supposed to be, therefore I drew them really unfitting. Which made it all the more hilarious, especially paired with the weird story choices I made and the super accented voice acting :D The concept in itself is insanely cute and this kind of storytelling has a lot of potential! You realised it fully well for an LD entry, I am in awe :) You really poured a lot of soul into this entry with your cute stories. The graphics and music are super good, too! The soundtrack doesn't even become repititve, I could listen to it all day ^^ Great job!
Ahhh, I died at 166 gems when a system message popped up and I accidentally switched tabs upon closing it :face_palm:
Your game is truly amazing! The design is really innovative, graphics and audio are fine and most of all, it's incredibly fun! It's hard to stop playing, once you got it going! I'll plunge in for another round, after one play I already think I'm addicted ;)
This is really sweet and boy, oh, boy, are graphics and audio stunning!
I think a note that the game pauses if you switch tabs or minimize the window would be welcome.
This is a _ really _ unique experience. This is one of those gems I will send to people who would probably never touch a typical Ludum Dare entry. Interactive poetry is a thing that should definitely be further explored!
I like the basic premise and presentation. However, I have some points of improvement for you: The camera should move earlier than the last third of the screen. As it is right now, you can only barely see ahead which makes it really hard to judge where you are going. Also, I had no idea how much gold I actually needed to pass the level.
@gonzalol This is unexpected. We already found a lot of bugs and are polishing up a more stable version, but this has not happened before. Have you tried reloading the page?
@jlv Thank you so much for suggesting the immediate frog rotation! This little feature makes the game so much more accesible!
@thecritterscove Sadly the unique frogs were a bit overambitious. I've strewn them into the levels as random talking frogs so they don't go to waste.
@catie-jo Just thinking of your comment makes me smile - because "childwen" is simply a product of my inability to properly pronounce the letter "R"
Hello @polinnich ! Thank you for playing such an old game of ours! โบ๏ธ You have to move the Toad King from the left side of the stage to the right side, where you have to leave the screen to enter the next level.
This game is really, really good! And even works on my mobile phone! I am truly impressed, never saw anything like it. It's amazing how you even incorporated sound into the concept!
Your game has a really fresh and unique feel! You hooked me the moment I realised I _am_ the phone. The story had nice turns too and the dialogue options were great. The voice sounds were a bit too loud and droning in relation to the sweet music for my taste. But overall well done :)
Really unique base idea that somehow just works too well! The graphics may be simple per se, but the animation works so well, that you don't notice at all. The game looks and feels really polished! Great job!
First of all I want to say that I am only here because I identified you as a fellow frog and Toad lover in the comment section of Froog :frog:
Your game is a really cozy experience. I like the warm music and the sweet characters. The art direction is something extraordinary and it saddens me that a lot of people seem to have missed how to play your game and therefore missed all the cute graphics. You should definitely add a note somewhere! To everone else: **to combine items you have to click on them in the item collection screen!** The interface could use some improvement. But the core experience is really nice :)
This takes our inherent human desire to amass stuff, only to force us to throw it away to progress. It is a parable on the shackles of capitalism, I guess?
Seriously, super fun game and a great hook! Oh, and those designs and random outfits are whimsical :D Playing two games at once is stressful, but I for one really like it! Typing game arena shooters a now one of my most well regarded genres.
One thing: The controls on keyboard are a bit laggy and in the beginning it was not quite clear to me, how to throw away stuff, since it displayed the A button even though I used a keyboard. And, well, I pressed A a lot. The other numbers worked fine, though.
This puzzler is really well thought out, works like a charm! The presentation might be simple, but it does it's work and does not distract. And oh, is that moving sound effect satisfying! The puzzles are real brain burners and put their hooks deep into me!
Congratulations to one amazing game!
I can't wait for the postjam version! This is so addicting and fully realised! I call winning potential! 5/5 easiliy
Interestigng puzzler with especially great sound! The graphics arent't pretty, but the moody soundtrack more than makes up for that! A big part of a lot of the levels consists of walking around. I think, some of them could have been pakced more tightly, since the distance does not add to the puzzle itself.
However, especially since it is a compo game, well done! There is also quite a lot of content :)
Very well made! I am a fan of the combined keyboard and mouse controls, it's really neatly implemented! The game plays super smoothly and looks and feels great, too! Great choice of music, too!
Super polished, great looking game with an amazing soundtrack and innovative mechanics! Awesome! It was not super obvious what to do at first, but once it clicked, pure joy followed :)
Very sweet idea, neatly implemented. The gameplay is really tense and I for one am a sucker for this kind of multitasking stress test in a game. Graphics and sound are pretty sweet, too. I'm really fond of the different enemy types. And boy, that cover art!
Very well done, I love it
No one has pointed this out yet, but this is about a person recovering from a coma, right? It's beautifully produced and really touched me.
The hitboxes were not quite clear to me and I didn't get the behaviour of the enemies. Was it random? The game was really easy to beat. I like your presentation and the idea of a runner where your body parts are your lives is solid :) It's a good base, but could use some more polish :)
Kinda weird premise? :D Also really fun.
The game plays reeeeaaally well and I'm amazed how many levels you were able to create! Great graphics, great choice of music - you created an all around winner! :)
This is one hell of a game.
Beautiful graphics, beautiful audio, super cozy atmosphere
The game feels quite fresh and the screen wrapping and expansion of the landscape are implemented in a really satisfying way. Seeing how everything comes alive and together is simply gorgeous :) Very fine entry :)
Maaan, this is amazing. It's totally personal and makes you immediately ultra involved. The graphics are superduper cute and the interface ist ultra pretty, too. Really, the only thing to add would be sounds and music.
The third game I played this LD is already one I can see placing way up high! Well done!
As you noted, it is a bit rough around the edges. I think the Victory and Game Over screens are mixed up - this caused a lot of confusion to me after my first death. The graphics are really cute and the choice of sound is great! I am a great fan of your lockpicking mechanic :)
You guys should definitley rate some other games or else your game shows pretty much last on most lists. It is the give and take of Ludum Dare - by rating the games of other creators, you get more ratings yourself :)
It's amazing how much content you managed to cram into this game! And how much cleverness! Reading through the comments I can see that nearly everyone who thought of a "Ha, they couldn't have expected THAT!" comes out of it pleasently surprised :D
It's really outstanding, the presentation is super slick, too. Easily 5 Stars, I call winning or at least top scoring potential!
To me, the game felt really samey at around day 3. I played for a whole week, but basically clicked through all the adventures and always felt like I had more than enogh resources by doing so. Felt really easy to me, but not engaging enough to continue after that. I really liked the whole mood you created though! And even if the music might not be by you, it was an excellent choice!
With a bit more polish like added animations/effects and especially more feedback when you are hit this game has a lot of potential! Nice entry :)
This is one slick battle royale game! Great presentation, great mechanics, super cool "surprise" at the end - I simply like everything about your game. It's really fun and plays amazingly well. Great job!
Your game made me laugh out loud! The dialogues are really good :D
Frog Love :frog:
Man, the atmosphere is soooooo cute :green_heart:
The graphics are super cool, the upbeat music is really, _ really _ good and all in all the little world has something wholesome to it. The gameplay works really well, too. It's some kind of fun condensed single player Overcooked. As everyone has noted, isometric movement is really unintuitive. But that's okay, one can get used to that. Very nicely done game! The Toad King approves! :frog:
The game is really basic, but it works fine! Some more feedback would improve it a lot, like a little animation or shake when you are hit and of course sound. You could opt out of the Audio category, since there seems to be no sound at all. For the gameplay, you have a solid basis there! It actually is fun to find a safe path to the next level. Better graphics would improve the game, but of course not everyone has access to an artist. Or time to spare for graphics. This game is obviously not a masterpiece, but a good and servicablefoundation, so well done for your first jam! Keep it up :)
I'm especially fond of the audio, the soundtrack is really good! The whole premise and art direction are also really swell. The fighting system is a bit on the simple side and could make use of a bit more work. On the other hand the experience is short enoguh that it does not get dull.
Short and sweet game. Leaves me with a warm feeling, with that great presentation and humorous setup :)
The premise alone would have sold the game to me. And you really went all in with that! Great writing, great graphics, everything's one perfect package :)
Maaan, it took a while to get how this controls, even with reading your comments. Anyway, really unique idea! I don't think there are many games out there where you play as DNA polymerase :D The presentation is really good, too! So a really cool project you've got here :sunglasses:
However, I too had the notion that the spawn rate slowed down.
I think part of the problem is that the dragging end is flashing while you have to grab with the other end. Once you know how it works it is crystal clear (lock-and-key model), but at first I tried to kick the bases around with the wrong end.
You could add a tutorial screenshot to the page where you mark the grabby and draggy ends of the enzyme and tell players that bonding takes a moment. I guess that would already help most players get it.
The atmosphere is really strong! I love how you are forced to frantically run through the cave, even though it can be a bit rustrating at times, but that adds to the experience in my opinion. Graphic and sound desgin are insanely beautiful.
The design is spot on, I love your pixelanimation! The title alone is worth gold  Gameplay is smooth and plays well. For me there was a problem with the sound for hitting enemies - it made my speakers scream in agony for a second, so I had to mute the game. Nevertheless, really solid entry!
Nice little 2 level challenge! The platforming was tight and the levels well designed. I had fun :)
I think the main character's design clashes with the rest of the artstyle and I think it's a weird decision to have the jump sound play when you are falling. But these are nitpicks, since you made the game in just 48 hours. For that timeframe, it's well done :)
Super cute game! I love the audio in this one and the art is amazing, too! Also, it's really funny with it's eccentric choice of items :D The gredd mechanic was not quite clear to me. Nevertheless, I managed to get hold of the moon on my first try ^^
Love it.
This game feels incredibly polished. You totally nailed the jumping mechanic so many jammers struggle to implement in a satisfying way. Your game is really challenging, but, except for the birds in level 2 that have been adressed others already, always fair. And that's why I gladly spent my 18 minutes to finish the game with all 134 coins. I became fully absorbed. Seriously, you did so many things right, I don't even know where to start. Well, I guess everything has been said above by others ^^ The rat behaviour is something I actually never saw in a platformer before. It's ingenious! Platformers can still be fresh and surprising! And adding to that amazing gameplay, you also have super good pixelart! And so many little touches that bring the world to life! Like those tiny pin wheels that don't even serve a purpose except than to please me! I also loved the dialogs in the transitional levels, the hedgehog you land on gave me a good laugh! Ahhhhh! Your game is just too good! I could propably go on and on about it! Have a bucket full of love
Awesome looks, awesome sound, great mechanic that is deeply explored - what's not wo love? Well, maybe Level 2, which is waaaay to hard that early in the game :D Awesome job, guys!
Great Title, great gameplay, great presentation. Great, great, great. 5/5
This game feels really polished to me. Everything is minimalistic, but it feels oh so satisfying. The movement is super smooth, the shader and sound are lovely and let you forget it's basically just some polygons in a void, the mechanics are instantly clear, work really well and most of all the whole package is totally fun! Love it :)
This was really, really cute :) The music and the pleasing graphics conjure a wonderfully cozy mood. And yes, those aphids are really annoying, you just HAVE to get them off the plant. I'm glad I could make my grandfather proud :)
As always, I'm absolutely stunned by everything you two managed to create in just 3 days. The gameplay is really addicting, since the controls are super tight(I did not have a problem with mouse detection outside of the game window by the way) and the assets are so charming. It's a heartwarming cutesy gem that just begs for the (thankfully upcoming!) mobile port.
This is incredibly cute and hits all the right nostalgie chords. The dancing animation is the cutest ever <3 But that jukebox... That was weird. And awesome :D
Dying due to happiness is a good death I guess :D
I especially love the music! Pure bliss.
Oh my god, this game is amazing! Yes, it's a hot mess of WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING, but this is so, sooo perfect. It's ultra satisfying to keep the pug alive. It's the best kind of stress. The music simply amazing too, just listening to it makes my blood pressure rise.
I'm so stupid, forgetting to put all the controls in the description :face_palm: Yes, you can use X to pick up stuff and C to use it. There are 3 shows that start on consecutive days.
To the finest of makers,
Your superb idea executed with such exquisite style spark light to my dim existence. I'm glad I found you and long to revisit you already.
In awe and utter astonishment,
Your fondest of admirers <3
Haha, this plays really well and has looooaaaads of style. The graphics work well, the audio is amazing (singing? Singing!) and there a super cool little touches (sattelite dishes on old sandstone houses? Hell yeah!). Really, really well done, and super fun too!
The boss fight was certainly unexpected! Even though the jumping mechanic teased that there could be more. Nice little game :)
I don't like the ending though
Very dreamlike, totally absorbing in it's beautiful weirdness.
I love it when games get creative with music! Very charming little game in a bizarre little world. Well done!
Wondeful graphic design, I love your palette! The game has a really nice mood. Does it end with the "Hmmm?" though? I did not find a way to progress.
This is incredibly polished and accessible for everyone worldwide. Amazing. I might send the link out to friends who otherwise would not get much out of LD entries.
Awesome job!
Awesome fun! I could only try it with 2 players. I wonder, if it really works with a large player count due to the limit of simultaneous key presses keyboards can regisiter. I really hope it does! Sadly, we all won't be able to test it out soon
But I'll definitely will try it with 4!
Awesome idea, awesome execution! As others have noted, the hitbox seems to be a bit bigger than expected. Everything else runs absolutely smoothly. The graphics are cute and fun and the music IS ABSOLUTELY THE BEST!! My highscore was somewhere around 2600. Very, very well done!
This game! I simply love it! The Gameplay may not be anything special, but it's super tight. The art direction is great (I love the palette! It may just be four colors, but oh, are those colors well chosen), the sound design is absolutely outstanding - it's unbelievable, how so few sounds can have SO MUCH character - and the theme song is AWESOME. Seriously, if this was a real arcade I would have gladly put my money into it! <3 <3 <3
This is almost like a virtual pet game xD
Funfunfun
Awesomely simple gameplay, awesome artstyle, grewat sound effects, insanely efficient animation - your game is just made for mobile app stores!
The one button gameplay is really solid, it's such a neat package!
I love how much personality tako has <3
Awesome game that just feels right in every regard. The retro graphics are super nice, sound effects are neat, the music is a total hit and the gameplay loop is sooooooooooo satisfying! I looooove it!
So much style! So much humor! Absolutely love it
I only played a little today, but I'll definitely revisit for more endings.
I wiped out 88 % of the Dinosaurs with a mass of 23235 kg. Yay!
Very cute and very well polished game! I love the retro style, you really pushed the Pico-8 engine here! Sounds and Music are very nice, too.
I love it!
We played it 10 minutes before we were allowed to rate and where absolutely blown away by all the polish and style! Your game feels so complete, it's insane! It would actually be hard to find anything to make the game even better, except more content. But there is so much content already, way to much!
I just found out 2 of my absolute favourites of the last 2 jams where also made by you
You truly are a Ludum Dare legend!
At first I was like what? And then I was like whaaaaat? And then I figured it's like a really strange pattern recognition game and could not find the last thingie at all. And I tried to blow up everything anyway. And then I saw the closed door and boom. Happy for the resolution. After finally getting the ending I was like whaaaaaaaaaaaat?
I have no idea, what you created here. Not a clue about the story/message. And now I read above it basically is the same for you too? This is so weird. Where did it come from? Did you create it in a dream?
I have no idea, what this is about. Or why it was compelling and, yes, fun. Really fun. But it's beautiful. And I love it.
My biggest fear is that people won't get (which I don't either. At all.) and for that might rate you lower than you deserve(i.e.: high).
You really captured the Antichamber vibes, but with your own hyperbolic spin. Really cool! We sadly got stuck after obtaining the key. Pressing Esc apparently crashes the game :slight_frown:
The whole game just ooooozes style! Graphics and sound are top notch and come really well together with the gameplay. Gameplay was a little bit slow and a bit to passive for me personally, but great nonetheless, it plays really smoothly. Very well done! :)
Wow, generating deep content really is addicting. I spent about an hour with your game now
Do you know InspiroBot? I feel like I am its algorithm now :robot:. And I spent hours on that site too. Maybe I'm susceptible to pseudo profoundness. Profauxndness?
I love your idea, I love your implementation. The design is super clean. deepr deserseves to be seen and used. Do you plan to support the site after Ludum Dare? It has the potential to become really big.
My only gripe is that sometimes you _just need that one word_ after figuring out all the rest, but it's not there. Though that is part of the whole experience of course. Oh, and is there a way to see random posts? Or only ever the newest ones and the ones with the highest score? Because I kind of feel like that would massively favor the posts on the leaderboard.
Anyway. Amazing idea, amazing implementation. Congratulations on creating a game that will linger on the mind long after "gamier" games are forgotten! I already spread it to circles beyond Ludum Dare. Thank you
I love the cute and bizarre little world you put together here! It was so dreamlike, in strangeness, lightness and unease all at once. Both real and unreal. I don't want to talk about the story for spoiler reasons (~~first~~ second comment and all ^^), but again I marvel at your talent to create characters with emotional depth. I have no idea how you do it, Pastel is mostly just a face and a handful of lines, but I cared for him. Actually, this triggered a Goodnight Meowmie flashback in me! :scream_cat:
The dance scene was my highlight. After I finished the game, I restarted it immediately to experience that sweet dance again :dancer_tone1: The opulent and nostalgic music might be mostly to blame, but the gameplay was really satisfying too! Makes me wonder if you planned out a different game (or even two?) at first?
Anyway, thank you for always creating such high quality games and experiences
I closed my eyes, too! You did a really great translating the concept into a game. And it even worked! I breathed to the sound and my button push and that was all that was needed to bring me into the zone. Actually the words were kinda irritating in the way that I instantly thought about the stuff mentioned, but it's a great tool to teach meditation principles! Well done!
@eta 42069 beebs?!?! :scream: I would have not thought that possible, given the bug that makes you fail, once the song is through :astonished: We have a new champion! :trophy:
While playing your game, my first thought was to recreate user profiles from ours. I decided against shameless self promotion though. But of course I, and all of us, would feel truly honored, if you are _actually_ serious about adding our advertisements to deepr, doubtlessly one of the most unique creations on this site ๐ฏ
Maybe we can start a social network for social networks created during this Ludum Dare?
@eta @kameia this is what a whole weekend of bodily neglect does to your brain  Thanks for enlightening me ๐ And congratulations to our new champion for real this time ๐ I actually haven't noticed those numbers till now @tekses...
Wow, what a unique experience! And soooooo stylish! The background reminded me of the games of my childhood with prerendered backgrounds. Really nostalgic! The mini games where fun and the humor on point! You really nailed the whole presentation!
I want to make a counterpoint and say I immensely enjjoyed the hacking, even the fourth time around! I don't get how mindlessly hacking the keyboard and see text appear can be fun, but it sure is!
The first game I played this game and I already have a feeling I found the winner! This game is INSANE? What are you? A god? Can you stretch time?
Oh, another note: The music is so catchy I thought it was a rhythm game at first and did every action in sync to the music XD
Whoa, it really takes a while to wrap your head around this unusual jumping mechanic. It's a really unique experience unlike any other vertical platformer or line runner!
I really like the graphics and the ambient music. To me, the Dash and the voice were a bit over the top or at least clashing with the rest of the style.
I really, really like your game though! Well done!
Man, this is what I call style! I can't exactly put it into words, but your game is insanely immersive! It makes me feel like someone or something else, like in a different reality, fully absorbed. It's a bit how remembering games from the N64/PSOne or related computer era _feels_.
It is a really relaxing experience. The piano adds so much!
Wow, it's incredibly polished! The style is soooooo good and the mechanics are super tight! The ball always did exactly what I expected, all mess ups are to be blamed on me, not unexpected behaviour. This is really impressive!
Very, very well done and polished game! Even with Leaderboards!
Not much to add to the comments above. Even though you cut most sounds, I _really_ like the two available! This simple piano gives do much! I wouldn't go so far to say I continued playing because of the piano jingles, but they played an important part!
Overall a really nice little android game.
This game already has a nimpressive amount of content and there still is so much potential! It's really not hard to imagine this being developed into a "full" game! :open_mouth:
Very well done, super unique concept and well realised! Also extremely pretty and great choice of music!
Wow, the presentation is super slick and it plays super smoothly! Very well done!
Oh man, I actually beat it, but sooo close! My heart is still pounding! Amazing job!
This game is lovely, the presentation is top notch and everything just falls into place. The insctructions are really clear, yet you still need several tries until you even have a chance of surviving for longer than a few minutes. And if you do you feel infinitely mighty! You have distilled the essence of every skill based game into just a few minutes! Love
Wow, this game just feels so soft and warm! Amazing aesthetics in all departments! I felt a childlike joy exploring the city.
Apparently I was the only one who had no problem whatsoever to retrieve the dog
This game gets intense pretty fast! My heart was pounding when I very, *very* closely managed to not break out in tears in the end! This feels way too real
Awesome presentation!
Thank you! @pigeonliam Not being able to catch both is actually the intended behaviour. Not even Captain Canary is *that* tough
I love this game! he difficulty ramps up a little slow for my taste, but it gets oh so intense! I encountered a bug where I used my slam to save my siblings yet all the eggs stayed in place while the nest jump sideways - all but two died in that single move :cold_sweat: I did not encounter it in subsequent playthroughs though.
Super cute, stylish and well executed game!
I encountered the same bug as @kraghan and was very confused at first  I really dig your idea and the atmosphere is superb! Very nice graphics and great voice acting, I love the satisfying grunts and lines of Belial! The game itself was very difficult, I did not manage to get past round 1.
Bugreport: When you open the help screen in the main menu, you can't close it. Reloading did not solve it. Okay, now to your game: Really neat stacking game! And also really funny! I love the idea and the noises those little stupid guys make. Also the aesthetic! Might be a weird thing to note, but the sky and the clouds look oh so satisfying. I looked at them way longer than I should admit here. I also liked the gameplay. It could feel a bit unfair through the randomness of who moves where (or I did not see through the logic of room allocation), but the randomness is also reeeeaaally fun. And a year is a cool timeframe. Thanks for making this game, I had fun :)
Whoa! I NEED MORE OF THIS; WHY IS THERE ONLY 2 TASKS??
Seriously, this is exactly my kind of game. It's a bit like a simpler single player Keep Talking And Nobody Explodes. The whole presentation, nah, the whole game is perfect!
If you actually decide to add to it I will come back for sure!
Nice little game. Others have already stated the points this game could be improved upon - in my opinion making the controls more consistent (or more intuitive, they are consistent in a way, I guess) and making the game a bit more balanced are the most important ones. It really does work though and I was determined to reach level 10. I wondered if the game woukd end there and was really surprised with what happened instead! I really loved the great song too!
Really great job, your art, music and sounds are truly lovely and the game plays really smooth!
This game is awesome and it would work super well on a phone!
Phenomenal, very polished entry!! The whole style, both graphics and sound, is super awesome! And it plays quite well too! For me it was a bit on the easy side once I noticed it's quite easy to run past enemies. Nevertheless it was a lot of fun and even had a boss fight :scream:
Nice job!
Wow, super cool, I felt like I was playing a metal album cover :sunglasses: Love the whole direction you took this game, it's super aesthetic in a very unique way! And plays well too! Great job!
One thing I, as a QWERTZ-keyboard user, dislike is having to use the z button, but well, no one can expect every developer to respect every keyboard layout. And I can change it in my settings, it's still a tiny annoyance.
Wow, very nice compo game! Lovely use of the theme and great presentation! I kinda spent the whole first round figuring out the game (I brewed a total of 2 potions, haha) and had not much fun during it, but I wanted to give your game another chance. Now, a few rounds later, I'm really happy to currently occupy 3rd place on your leaderboard  The game is really fun once you understood it!
One thing that was not clear to me was how much points you get for each potion. I wondered if it's worth it to go for the ones that have other potions as ingredients. Yet during preparation I did not have the time to also look at the score increase.
Anyway, thanks a lot for making this :)
I especially loved the music! Nice mood in the game!
Wow, I love, love, LOVE this game! It's so incredibly cozy! I haven't felt this much warmth since Kirby's Epic Yarn ๐ฎ
I subscribe 100 % to what @owca said!
You created a really cute world with an awesome style here. I especially like the palette! Sadly, I did not finish the game, I was missing just one piece, but after walking around the whole map 3 times I just gave up. Still, I am amazed how fun it could be to "just" walk around!
It's so frustrating in a good way! ๐ โบ๏ธ
Nice little basic game! Some more detailed graphics and sound would drastically imrove it I guess, but the foundation is there!
I think it would be improved if you could turn to stone if there already is one, maybe by destroying the previous stone. Also you have to quit by Alt+F4, at least for me Esc did not work
This seems like a very solid foundation for a game! I love the aesthetic and basic gameplay seems servicable. A little more time and content and I can see this become a lot of fun :)
Does the game have Audio? Because I wasn't able to hear any. You can opt out of the category if there is no sound to rate ;)
Really cute little game with a great atmosphere. And playable on phone! This fancade thing is really fascinating! I felt like there is not much reason to for items that are far away, I always want with the ones close at hand. Maybe having orders of multiple items or reshuffling one of the listed ones when you deliver another could add a bit more of a challenge. Have that's just me though. I like the slipperiness, it reminds me of what I like to do at the supermarket when no one is watching - starting to run and then lifting yourself up on the shopping cart ๐๐ It's quite a different experience if you constantly crash into people though ๐
This was one hell of an experience. It's so polished, seeing it as a new go to casual game making big rounds is not hard at all! It's amazing how such simple gameplay can make for such a challenging and addicting game!
I needed quite some time to figure out when and why I bounced, even though it's pretty obvious once you noticed. Super unique controls! It's really innovative, I haven't played a game quite like this before. It's really beautiful too and the sounds are sooo satisfying!
I really like your puzzle platformer! The style is great and the animations are awesome - I love the spinning when you win! It's super cool how you managed to create such fun levels. Only thing I wish was different was more control over your jump height. I felt like I always went up way higher than I intended. That lead to some jumps of faith that did not necessarily need to be. But it's all okay, I hat a lot of fun!
Also I want to thank you in behalf of all the other fancade developers you mentioned in your blog post and whose games I all played. Content like this on the frontpage makes me happy <3 Also my WLAN does weird things today and without your post I propably would not have been able to play any games this evening <3
This plays really well on mobile! The piano music is really beautiful, in my opinion something heavier with more bpm would have fit the the intensity of the dining islands better (love the shaking! Generally love the artstyle โบ๏ธ).
Sadly I couldn't get past the falling pillars either, but I tried so many times and I wasn't even mad! I really love the retro vibes, I felt like a kid again, exploring a random freeware game that was somehow crammed onto a CD in a magazine. And that was great!
I LOVE this game! This is such a great spin on that old, dry as bones puzzle we all were impressed by as 6-year olds! I love, love, love it! It looks so simple and "cheap" at first glance, I'd never have guessed it from your header image, but your game turned out one of my FAVORITES this jam! Everything you did here oozes so much charm, the animal (and vase) rules, the cute graphics, the super fun sounds and the ingenious puzzle design!
There are only 2 minor things: 1) I would have liked a hotkey for the boat to start sailing since it can be a little crowded on the boat with one of the larger animals which makes the sail harder to click. 2) for me it was not immediately clear the elephant can carry animals (and the vase) too, maybe add that to its description ;)
Apart from that, this game is perfect to me in its simplistic way! Thank you for having this idea, realising it and sharing it with the world (especially me)!
This is the cutest game ever! Such style, such cuteness
Amazingly polished no-nonsense sokoban game. The atmosphere is really, really great, music and art work perfectly well combined with the harsh step counter. I'm used to leisurely try around stuff in these kind of games, here I was on edge the whole time! Who would have thought this is possible in a sokoban game
I love your game! It shows us how the logistics of war can be just as brutal as the actual fighting! Great concept, great graphics, nice gameplay loop and great mood!
It's almost a tower offense game :D I love the idea behind this, looking at the machanics only it seems pretty plain, but combined with that backstory it's really whacky in the best way. Great choice of music too!
This is a really cool twist on a tried and true concept and the premise and story is quite cute :) At first I didnt't comprehend Steady moves only when Zip moves and was a tiny bit confused. I moved to the beat though, which felt very satisfying. I got it quickly though and it makes a lot of sense as a premise. Well done puzzler!
Having so much momentum in movement felt like a dealbreaker at first, but I actually really liked it, once I got going!
I really like this "behind the scenes" idea. Lovely twist on tetris!
Funny premise for a tower offense game :D Gameplay could use a little tweaking, as it is, doing nothing and waiting till your flowers have accumulated is rewarded and having a spam wave of VW buses escalates your score quite dramatically. But mechanically it works well!
Very nice puzzle game with an interesting theme. Great music and graphics, nice atmosphere! I just wish for a restart button and smoother transitions between levels. But very, very nice puzzles, and I encountered not a single bug!
I love how you created a working "social" deduction game during a game jam! Very original and oozing style in every way! Awesome!
One thing that aannoyed me was that I sometimes couldn't read the hints properly because they were hidden by the neighbour's order. Other than that I did not encounter any bugs :)
Cozy little game! I definitely did not expect a visual novel kind of experience! I really like the atmosphere you created with all the little particle effects and the very, very soothing soundtrack enhancing the story immensely!
With ads this amazingly exciting it's really hard to play the game :D Lovely mechanics, I like playing it a lot.
Th ending killed me  Awesome job!
Whoa, if you pitched the raw concept at me, I'd have said that can't be fun. Oh, was I wrong! The sense of discovery is very real, I feel like on an expedition, drawing the map while I hunt for treasure (which I am not actually doing, I know, but that's the feel I get from your game). Design, graphics, audio, everything is perfect here! And the music is super nice too, very calming and not annoying at all even after playing for almost half an hour. Very well done and very original idea!
I love the concept and controlling 2 different characters in general! Combining a drone and a fridge sounds totally ridiculous but somehow it makes perfect sense here? You implemented cool puzzles with your mechanics. One thing I found a little annoying is how often you have to click to fill the feeding container. Reducing the number needed or being able to continuously shoot while clikcing would make it a little more anjoyable, might be a me problem though. I encountered a bug where, when I moved the drone from one side towards a closing door and the fridge from the other, the fridge became trapped between two doors and I couldn't progress.
Overall a very nice game though, with a little polish I could really see it shine!
I love what you did with the theme! Perfect anti delivery game, yet so, so cozy too! Lovely!
Damn, I didn't expect the Mail Men to throw a box through the window! What a super silly fun idea for a game, I love it! Every game with a bark button is an auto win. I really appreciate using O and P for the action buttons.. That's so much more comfortable than what most developers go for, my wrists want to thank you very much!
The presentation here is top notch! The crowd clapping unenthusiastically really git me
The music is really, really good!
I am very, very sorry to report that your game was extremely unstable for me and always crashed after about 2-4 customers (Windows version). I tried at least 6 times, but I could not identify any trigger I could name. It's a shame, because I love the setting, music, character designs and overall atmosphere! Also the idea, it seems like a kind of spin on Papers Please, which I love. Feel free to ping me if you should release a more stable version, I'll gladly give it another try and immerse into your world! (Call the cops? Why would I need to call the cops?)
Whoa, the first parcel was a weapon delivery? I'm glad I found out the story about that while playing further :D Very nice difficulty curve and great selection of assets!
Ingenious use of the theme! The atmosphere in your game is very dense in the best way. The rain, the super slow menacing undead... It's really, really tense! The art is very nice, and I especially love the music, it evokes feelings of desperation adn desolation, it's also sad in a kind of nostalgic way? It's hard to describe how music feels, but to sum it up, I love it!
Regarding controls: using a QWERTZ-style keyboard it really is a pain to use the Z button (my system somehow didn't allow me to change keyboard style internally). I'd like to suggest simply adding Y as an additional button next time for all us QWERTZ users :)
Took a second to get into the game (having the option to show the helpscreen again really helps), but oh wow was this a surprise! I always hated this type of swiping puzzle in games, yet you somehow managed to turn it into a pretty deep tactical delight! It also looks cute, has great thematic soundtrack and plays butter smooth!
I played till I defeated the Evil Lich Queen, and I loved every second of it!
You captured the stressfullness of real parking PERFECTLY. At least, in your game noone is watching and there is no traffic I'm blocking...
Your itch-page seems to be restricted, so your game is inaccessible right now.
I am in awe with the world you built here! I love that there is no explicit story, yet so much implicitly unfolds in my imagination thanks to your gorgeous art and sound direction
Noooo, I stumbled with my 66 Stars!
Incredible work for a 3 hour timeframe! Yes, the game is barebones of course, but still engaging enough for me to collect 66 stars, haha. Great job on the art and sound design too!
Definitely not what I was expecting! Super cute and fun entry. The graphics are especially appealing! Super tense soundtrack too!
The game was quite easy, even though I was sure I'd lose to the Ghoulish Gypaetus, but alas, the last townsperson in my cheeks saved the day!
Very unique experience!
Happy International Lesbian Day ๐งก๐ค๐ฉท I love this concept!
Lovely mood, great idea and execution and actually insanely funny and engaging for, mechanically speaking, "just" an inventory managament system. I'm a big fan!
Insane quality regarding the timeframe!!
The game is quite frantic, so I usually just went for the one pair heal, since I found it quite difficult to keep my eyes on both the hand and the field. Anyway, I managed to reach level 57, lots of fun!
Super duper cute and amazing art direction and resulting atmosphere! The impression will certainly stay in my mind :) The game is very compact, a nice little experience! :)
My laptop screen has quite a high resolution while being relatively small, so it was not super easy for me to distinguish which clown colors I had already collected. I recommend making the UI not being affected by the lighting!
Fun little game with tight platforming challenges! I'm not a fan of the perspective personally, I think the tilting could be a little gentler. Even though I don't suffer from motion sickness, this felt a bit ctoo lose to how I imagine it
@gamedevtraum and @martynas-dargis gave really solid feedback I can wholeheartedly agree with. All points I wanted to talk about have been covered already :)
The game was really difficult for someone with a high resolution
Yet I managed to capture the elusive Compopocom :sunglasses:
I love your little game, it's really inspiring! I was as hooked as a 2 year old figuring out their learning toy. Pattern recognition, yay! :blue_heart:
This is so cute ahhh my heart
Meta humor IS still cool and that stuff is super funny @pandalk ! The credits are absolutely killing me
Super ultra fun game!
It all feels so incredibly nice to interact with, the friendly visual design pairs so well with the choice of music and the sound effects. It's soooo satisfying!
Amazing experience!
Amazing idea and nice execution! I gotta admit though, I really suck at this frantic game  I love the doodles on the wall! Noticed them only halfway through, almost felt like discovering a secret.
Though I really like the song, I don't think it fits the overall mood too well. But that's a matter of taste I guess.
Thank you for making this!
I love the graphics, especially the leaves with the double outlines, that contributes so much to the overall atmosphere!
This game is so incredibly simple, yet still addicting! I think the funny noises do a great part at keeping me hooked!
I am sooo hooked!
Graphics and music are incredibly pleasing too!
Sprite-0001.png
This is what a 5 Star entry looks like! The production value is simply insane ๐ณ Tight and buttery smooth gameplay, an absolute unit of a BANGER soundtrack, over the top character design, I'm simply blown away.
Thank you for creating this gem!
You might want to add "HTML (Web)" to your list of links (it can be the same link) because right now it implies you'd have to download the game to play (might deter some people, and they'd really miss out!).
I love, love, love this game! It's exactly my jam! It reminds me of Wildfrost a lot, was that an inspiration perchance?
The monster designs are absolutely lovely, the soundscape fits the mood perfectly and the game is fun too! The only thing I missed was the ability to take a look into my backpack (which monsters do I have left?). And I wasn't really sure what the End Turn button does, apparently the same thing as pushing one of the play buttons?
The catlike monster with the scarf and the cute one with the bow and the dress were my favorites. And the final boss tossing its teeth onto you is such a great concept! Your design really hooked me, I'd love to see more of it!
Thank you so much for creating this game! Easy 5 Star entry
Maybe I'll try my hand at something similar in the future, you really inspired me here, hehe!
I loved your game so much, I played it again on my phone. Works like a charm! Cranking the egg monster up to health levels above the final boss felt like a real flex.
I discovered a graphical bug: if you already have 5 monsters and hover over one, but don't replace any, the replace symbol stays.
This is a 5 star game, dead simple. I love the unique artstyle, the music, the overall atmosphere. I truly forgot this is a Ludum Dare entry.
The game was super easy, yet you added so many items, so many insanely cool graphics! I would looooove to see this fleshed out, I was CRAVING simply for more and truly sad it was over so quickly! Guess I'll have to boot up Dicey Dungeons again to bridge the time until you release an updated version with hours of playtime :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
I am stuck: What do I have to do to send my phishing mail to Kesi? They do not like mooncake, I got that, but with these settings, what parameters are invalid?
Sprite-0001.png
Thank you for the explanation! From here on I managed to finish the game :) I think I learned a lot while playing! A big thank you for the extensive background info, too!
This was a truly unique experience. I am absolutely wowed. The mystery of discovering where exactly I'm breaking into was so suspenseful!
Who would have guessed a game with, at face value, such simple graphics would even be able to do that! The art direction is absolutely on point!
A special shoutout to the music too, especially the song with the flute and harp (the other song and the ending song are great too of course)! It was sooooo pleasant to listen to!
Remarkable entry, and definitely saved because I know for sure there'll come a time when the topic comes up and I'll have just the perfect game at hand!
5 Stars, thank you so much for creating this gem!
My heart is melting
This was a truly unique experience
I love the art direction and that every food item even has an adorable name! :)
Really impressive! The absoletely gorgeous artwork (!!) and the amazing soundscape tie the story together really well, what a great mood!
Some things I noticed: The contrast between the light grey textbox and the white text is really low. You might want to increase it for accessibility purposes and reduced eyestrain. Often, squares appear in the dialog, I guess there are some missing symbols? Also, the text appeared way to slow for my personal reading speed, so I formed a habit of doubleclicking. Due to this I missed all the puzzle piece grapphics ๐ฅฒ Maybe some kind of failsafe for these scenes could be an addition to consider.
Anyway, you created something really special. It was a joy to experience!
Fun! I love the framework of being a child who just comes up with nonsense - young investigator sounded so serious
The best and most intense game of memory I ever played! 5/5!
And whoa, the presentation is AMAZING ๐ฒ
The whole game is intense, I prayed for my life there!
Really intrigueing with a mysterious atmostphere. I like how I had to figure out on my own what even happens. The soundscape is amazing!
Is there a way to truly beat the game or does it simply loop?
It actually only partially worked on my phone (you might remember, I asked for recommendations in a blog post) because I twice encountered a bug where the game wouldn't show the button to continue to the next day on day 2.
I'm really glad I finally did come back, it was so worth it! Amazing atmosphere you created here! I love the switiching between day and night mode!
I absolutely LOOOVE your game, OMG, there's so much content! I have sooo saved this so I can play it again from time to time, ahhhhh, you inspire me!!!
Almost everything is perfect, tight controls, great puzzles (I especially liked discovering the "secret" triangle keys), a true sense of exploration, BANGER soundtrack, super consistent art direction *swoon, swoon, swoon*
The only things I could wish for were even more content (absolutely riduculous demand for a game as meaty as yours (and it's a compo game even!)) and for someone to tell me HOW I CAN BLOW THIS THING UP!! Dr. Bad needs to be stopped :weary: screenshot.png
Easy 5/5 stars, thank you for creating this radiant jewel of a compo entry!!
screenshottt.png
Hilarious! I was already 100 % invested after reading your description, before even starting :) I love "manage all the fires at once" kind of games, and this one was so incredibly funny!
The phone was my personal highlight. I would have loved to actually read the popups and inspect the cards - which made the situation so much more immersive :D
Super unique experience, amazing work and amazing voice acting, I was so incredibly invested! (even though I suck at OCD apparently)
You deserve your name!!
I was too greedy and got cought in the end ๐ฅฒ Maybe I'll come back later to see where exactly my colleague is going with all the labor they extract from me ๐
I played on my phone and it worked really well! Though a digital dpad as always has the problem of missing tactile feedback. My finger slipped a few times and that's how the humans caught me. Curse you, humans! If I play again I'll do it on my laptop for that reason.
I love how you took such a simple concept and limited scope and made it so engaging. The rhythm of playing and story was great! It almost felt like I was playing a minigame to unlock more dialogue ๐ (and I mean this in the best way possible!)
I love it! I wasn't able to make it through Night 2 though, I will probably tra again later :)
When the fisherman offers the parts of the slain abomination, is there ever a reason not to go for the fuel?
The Drunken Sailor jingle alone sold your game to me before it even began, oh my god!
Incredibly polished!
Simplistic, but neat and effective presentation and GREAT puzzles, I love how the difficulty gradually evolves! Moving yourself almost feels like breaking the game in a hacky sense, hehe. It was a satisfying package! A speed-up button would have been nice, but it's okay since each individual puzzle isn't super long.
Really nice entry!
I have to admit, reading the first two lines of the description on your itch-page DID NOT prepare me for what was about to come - "BOOGERS" on line 3 took me completely off guard :D
Insanely fun! And very nice "Flash era of online games" style :sunglasses:
It was a blast to play, and the balancing worked perfectly for me! Thank you!
Oh wow! What an incredibly polished entry! Movement is smooth, the graphics, especially the effects are INSANE, BANGER soundtrack!
I loved the distortion during the first few levels. The camera gimmicks in Level 5 captivated mee most, though. It was actually super fun to quickly switch up your way of thinking about navigation. Level 6, while great in theory, ended up pretty frustrating. I just couldn't beat it either, even taking the replayss into account. Though I have to admit, seeing the car shooting up the mountain and running stray accros the trees did make me chuckle!
I don't know how much more content there is (honestly, I didn't even expect the game to continue after Level 5! There's so much content, so much JUICE!), but seeing the ending animation cured all my frustration instantly!
Thank you for creating this gem! :)
Love the Cat btw!
Thank you so much, everyone, I worked on this game alone and poured my heart into it, your sweet comments mean a lot to me :blue_heart:
The game is created in [wareware](https://wareware.rip/), so the 3D world, movement, falling physics, dialog system, talking sounds etc. are predetermined. I can wholeheartedly recommend wareware to anyone even vaguely interested in making a similar game, it was pure joy to immediately focus on graphics, level design and dialogs without having to deal with a framework โบ๏ธ
@andriybyelikov Your reports are very much appreciated, I fixed these things immediately ๐ซก
@skeyven @neshtyak There's another area if you leave the city through the path between Stardude's and Selkie's house. I will try to add something to make this more obvious. Sorry you got stuck, but thanks for giving me this valuable feedback!
I finally managed to play your game! Better late than never I suppose
The atmosphere is CRAZY!! Really evocative music and sfx, sweet voice acting, nice graphics, wheee.
The puzzles were quite hard though. And I would never have figured out the whale puzzle without the walkthrough I think.
But yeah, really great what you did here, I'm proud of you :fish:

I just finished your game for the first (possibly not last!) time. This was a really unique experience! You really captured the feeling of being stuck with a novel sense humans typically don't have!
The game is, simply put, beautiful. It's amazing, what you wrangled out of PICO-8 here. The sound/music is also super atmospheric. I was really immersed! Figuring out the rules of this world tingled something in me that I thought was reserved to nostalgia
I played on my phone and it worked buttery smooth, however being able to jump with Up was a minor nuisance with a digital dpad because I jumped a lot accidentally. This was really minor though.
Thanks for creating this gem!
Quite frantic! It took me a moment to fight out what I was doing, but this is a really nice action-puzzler!
The aesthetic made me nostalgic for the computer games of my childhood
I love the premise and execution! Sadly, I couldn't help Phranna to save the city because for the life of me I was unable to find more than 2 jewels, so I only got to experience half your game. I tried several times, but in the end I gave up. Maybe I'm just too stupid to properly understand the hints though.
Anyway, here's a list of things I loved:
- the audiovisual presentation is *chef's kiss*. The title screen alone is so captivating that I spent at least a minute before even starting the game (your music is SOO GOOOD!) - A village full of silly litlle NPCs who react to current developments? Why, that is exactly my jam! (haha, literally: the heart of my game too). I love how even in these retro limitations they left their mark. I simply must know more about Sir Cle and Lady Soup - how mighty are they that the two alone can slow down a whole army?? I yearn for a manual of yore with illustrations, lore and jokes ๐ - Your spritework is incredible and the idle animations are an unexpected twist that really takes the aesthetic to another level. Special shoutout to Felix, by far the best 16x16 px cat I have ever seen :heart_eyes_cat:
Extremely stylish! The atmosphere is really dense. The game has several mechanics that are not super obvious the first time around (e. g. that your flying power diminishes if you stay airborne), but it was fun to discover them in subsequent runs. The water felt a little oppressive if you get stuck with too little energy for the frequency needed at the moment. I drowned three times with four or five gold tokens, so I think I will give up for the moment.
Anyway, you really captured the feeling of navigating a hostile world with a sense we normally don't have! And Kittenbaticorn is super cuuute! The music worked perfectly, too!
I'm glad I left this tab open until you fixed the link :)
Same problem here! @decadedecaf You might have forgotten to check the "played in browser" box. I'll keep this tab open and come back later :)
Aaand another mention for the music! :open_hands:
I liked it. Playing against the AI (no human opponent in reach) was kinda nice actually. That the AI has its own cursor is a solution I have not encountered before. It made it really transparent what actually happened. The gameplay was smooth, but very RNG dependant. Maybe a bit too much for longevity. Sometimes I was offered the same plan twice for example. But of course I realize how hard it is to balance such things and just leaning into the RNG can be alright for a short jam game (last jam our team stood before the exact same task and we, too, decided to just go with it ๐โโ๏ธ). I had fun overpowering my opponent with what I was handed :smirk_cat:
The animations are snuuuper cute by the way!!
I'm glad I waited for the reupload :)
The neighborhood somehow gives me sims 1 vibes in the best way haha
It's a bit of a catastrophe simulator, and I'm the cause for that catastrophe  (I mean that as a compliment  )

Suuuuper dense, oppressive atmosphere, I'm impressed you managed to do that with such a limited perspective! The audio work is amazing!
A screenshot really does your game a disservice, in motion and with the (really, really good!!) soundtrack this is a totally stylish minimalist aesthetic! It's impressive how you created such an in depth simulation. Great use of the theme! Even though it's very hard, but that kinda adds to it, in a way.
In most cases, using the keyboard layout as basis for the keys is the way to go (if I have to run around with arrow keys and do actions with X and Z it requires finger acrobatics on my QWERTZ style keyboard), but in the case of this game where I had to look up the controls all the time, it was quite annoying how often I pressed the wrong key  I know, I know, I just changed my keyboard layout to QWERTY, but only after it annoyed me way too much. It never occured to me, but does Godot use your local layout as the keyboard map in the game instead of the user's? If yes, that's good to know for the future.
First try I had a bug that stopped happiness from decreasing. After realoading the site, I could beat the first level, but had the same bug on the second level. It's a bummer, because I loooove everything about your vision here! The title of your game alone promised a good time already, the great art and the mischievous music (and voice sfx!!) come together really well for scheming saturday morning cartoon villain energy and the core mechanic is super fun!
Feel free to ping me if you manage to fix that bug, I'd love to experience your whole game!
@blue-pin-studio Thank you for the clarification! I tried it again and managed to beat Level 2 this time!
Level 3 was too hard for me. But I really admire your game anyway ๐
This is so incredibly cute. I already love the idea, the graphics are super nice, the soundtrack is so soothing and it all just feels so cozy! My record was 24.something seconds :)
I'm a big fan of random character generators, this is thematically a perfect use for one!
Very well done!
Holy shmeckeroly, I have not been hooked this much by a rhythm game since Crypt of the Necrodancer itself!
Everything fits together perfectly! The difficulty curve is really good, the game's good style and especially the music is amazing - which is essential for rhythm game! The beats are soooo satisfying to move too! I actually had problems to stop when it was necessary for the puzzle because I WANTED to move :D
Both songs SLAP and the lyrics are a hilarious, yet ingenious addition. I'll carry the music in my ear for the next few days for sure
And thank you for including bonus levels!!
Absolutely amazing, 5/5 game
6450 on my third try! Tried two more times, but can't beat myself here :D
Super cute game, the art is adorable and dynamic music is always a pleasure ๐
6565 - apparently already used the beat as much as I was able  1593 in hard mode :sunglasses:
I actually enjoy hard mode by the way. I am very glad you included it because it actually gives a reason to look at your cute dates while in a flow state
HOW IS THIS FUN YOU MADE ME DO WORK ๐ญ๐
Graphics and audio are FIRE :fire:
I love how the heroes have different personalities and squabble!
Math, but fun, wheee! :open_hands:
I would love to be able to generate the soundwave ingame
I got stuck on level 11, I might now read up on this interesting topic ๐
Wow, really fun once you get into the flow! The music is a BOP, I was moving my head to the beat the whole time through :notes:๐โโ๏ธ :notes:
Sadly my flow state was so strong that I immediately clicked away my final scorecard. I think my score was 257.something doll hairs?
Great entry!
The overall aesthetic is super nice, graphics and sfx work really well together. It's super satisfying to put up the smoke signals!
The game is not very meaty and right now it's super easy to win (or rather, hard to loose :D), but this is a really great foundation I'd love to see something build upon :)
15 minutes in, I give up. I'm sorry, I really can't figure it out.
Really well made game that's very stylish too! The graphics are perfect for what it is, colorful, pretty yet very clear to read. The start and end screen made me giggle too! The choice of music and sound creates a really epic atmosphere. I liked the novel mechanic of having to manually order your turres where to shoot. This was really novel for a tower defense game - and actively participating made it way more fun for me than sitting back and watching!
For me, the game was pretty much on the easy side and I would have welcomed 1-2 additional harder levels. It was still super fun and leaving a taste for "more" is a very good sign!
I played on my phone, worked like a charm (I didn't miss being unable to reload manually, there was enough to do already)! Just at one point I somehow placed a missile and gun turret on top of each other and couldn't separate them again. This was not much a problem during gameplay though.
Whoa, I was wondering how it would end. Bleak.
I love the idea behind your game, it really works!
So close!
Sprite-0001.png
This game works sooooooo well, even though it's super short (but that makes it all the more easy to replay)! Special shoutout to the insanely good music (the menu theme alone had me hooked and linger in the menu for way longer than I would have expected), also the increasing intensity *chef's kiss*
Very well done! I feel like a little kid playing Moorhung/Crazy Chicken for the first time again
Hahahaha, I booted up the game, didn't even play for 4 seconds and got Ending B
Got Ending C now. I liked it! It did feel like work, but I felt immersed in that work, and helplessly invested in the end.
Even though I kinda somehow feel this is an elaborate tool to learn remember the number of each letter in the alphabet. I could totally spell my name in numbers now
I love how ragged our protagonist looks. He really looks like he's in dire need of finding treasure :D
Interesting use of the theme and very nice atmosphere!
I was NOT prepared for what happened after the intro
I'm a fan of the odd art direction! Gameplay was interesting, felt a bit like if Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime and QWOP had a baby, haha! Super soothing music!
It is very difficult because it is so easy to run out of battery charge and it's quite difficult to find new juice. So I had to give up after a few tries too many.
I really like the idea and the cutscene art is absolutely stunning! The music, while simple, also works quite well!
"You play as the signal itself" is an interpretation of the theme I have not encountered before ๐
Really somber, calm mood, I loved that! The art is great, the sounds are pleasing, gameplay starts out very simple, but the double tracks were a really nice challenge, took a moment to adjust the brain :)
For the frequency modulation, I think I might have actually prefered if there was no square, just the wave. Otherwise that part seemed laughably easy, even though it's sooooo incredibly satisfying to ACTUALLY be able to modulate the frequency ๐ฎ
Anyway, I feel good about having finished this game, may help come swiftly before everyone's dead!
Very unique aesthetic, even if a little hard to read at times. Very dream flavored, in a way.
Regarding the pzazz mechanic I can only agree to what has been said already. But! It's still very impressive for your first game! The vision is there and if you two continue down this path, great things will come of it ๐
The whole atmosphere is really cute and the nature sounds were a great addition that does so much for the game! I really did feel like a tiny creature (the shovel, omg!)!
I'll share one little piece of Godot wisdom for games with "2D top-down 3/4 perspective" with you:
- make all visible objects in the game world (ants, mushrooms, grass etc.) children of a CanvasItem (or a derived node, e. g. Node2D) - enable Y Sorting (under CanvasItem > Ordering) - change the offset of all Sprite nodes (or their parent) to the bottom of the sprite (instead of center) - the rendering order will now be determined by the y position of the objects instead of position in the tree, thus objects "nearer" to our vision will appear in front of objects "further" away - you can now reduce the size of hitboxes to the part you would actually collide with (e. g. the base of the mushrooms) so you can walk behind the parts that are "higher up" (like you have already excluded the top of the mushrooms from the hitbox, now you could also exclude the stems)
Keep going, you've laid a strong foundation!
I adore the idea. In fact, I had a similar, unrealised idea years ago, so in a way, you built a dream game of mine
I deeply respect your vision, the game is suuuuuper atmospheric with great and varied art. The vegetation is so lush and alien, I love it. Also, your choice of music and sfx works extremely well.
In practice while playing, I have to agree with what others have said before, a little more communication about the traits would go a mile in playability and fun.
But! Even though I think your game could easily be * more * fun, it still left a mark on my, this is an experience I definitely cherish!
Great choice of music and great atmosphere in general! I love the ultra stressful gameplay, that's great use of the theme!
The platforming was pretty unforgiving at times. For example, in the room with the moving transmitter and the lift I didn't make the jump the first time and it took foreeever for them to synchronize again in a way where I could make it.
The core is really solid and the graphics are really nice too!
The first 3 comments already encapsulate everything I wanted to say perfectly.
So let me add just one thing: When I spot a mermaid, I'm in! And I'm really glad that I followed this siren's song ๐งโโ๏ธ
Great entry! Visuals and Audio work sooooo well! The atmosphere is the perfect blend of cozy and creepy :)
Props to your voice acting!
The style is unusual and that makes your game really stand out :sunglasses:
I found your game quite hard and wasn't able to get too far. But I love the mechanic of integrating the upgrades as additional inputs to your spells!
The atmosphere is great, really opressing in the best way! The music kept you tense the whole time through! Personally I would like it more if there wasn't a symbol denoting the looming threat so you would be forced to be more careful and discover how the signals work for yourself. More diversity in threats would be better, obviously, but this is a really solid game jam entry!
I'm glad I managed to guide the poor little squirrel safely home :) Cute little game!
Some gameplay things: The platforming could be improved by adding a slight amount of "coyote time" because it can be pretty unforgiving if you walk over an edge, especially since the dropping speed is so high. And the water didn't feel very natural, having the same sinking speed as aerial dropping speed. On the other hand, ground and aerial movement felt really tight!
What do the acorns do? edit: found the answer in your comments!
Damn, I killed myself with the beam that was supposed to deliver the last rock needed for my third tower
Great atmosphere, I love the art direction! The visuals are great and the music is AMAZING!
Your interpretation of the theme has a lot going for it.
