I don't know, Chrome says Nuclear Arms could be dangerous... Am I going to destroy the world by playing this? :O
I like it!
I liked it!
Pretty funny!
I like it!
I was defeated by myself multiple times. :)
Pretty funny! But hard to control.
LOL, sorry if it doesn't run on your computer. I didn't do any optimizations at all. There was a time where I considered compressing the textures to get the file size down, but instead I chose to grab all of the free cars from the Unity asset store and add them to the game.
It runs smoothly for me, on a desktop with a 5 year old graphics card. And my laptop (with an Intel Atom CPU and integrated GPU) feels like it gets 8 FPS at max settings.
I just moved the zip over to Dropbox, it is sooo much faster to download there than from my GoDaddy webhost. Now you should get it in 3 minutes, instead of 30-120.
I like it!
Fun!
I like it!
Nice game!
LOL, "-- What I have Learned -- You can not make an MMORPG in a weekend, but you can have fun trying."
I do the same thing every Ludum Dare, try to make something cool, don't exactly finish, but have lots of fun trying.
This is a great game, I think it might finish #1.
Nice game!
If you want to make a version 2.0, you should speed up the player and bullets, use some explosion/dust particle effects, and maybe get this Unity asset for the backgrounds https://www.assetstore.unity3d.com/en/#!/content/7095
LOL, I love it so much. You should put the web version on Newgrounds and Kongregate, and make some ad money from it. Last time I checked every 1,000,000 plays was worth around $1000. So you too could become officially rich! But more importantly you need to share this with the world.
Nice game! I recognize those houses from the Unity asset store, because I used them in a zombie game I made last month. LOL, I guess it's a small world.
Thanks for testing and playing! I'm glad it runs. The Mac version worried me because it was a little TOO easy to make, just a few menu clicks and 30 seconds to compile, another 30 to zip.
Thanks for playing, glad to hear it ran well on linux!
I had to opt out of graphics and music categories because I didn't make them, they came from AudioBlocks, CGTextures, and the Unity Asset Store. I just played around with them until I got the look of Diablo without all those stupid numbers flying around during fights. :)
I like it a lot. I would probably play every day if you put this on the Google Play store.
I like it! Even though I went bankrupt...
Good job, and you got it to run in the WebGL version too. I have NEVER gotten anything to compile and run smoothly in WebGL from Unity. :)
I like it!
I liked it! My high score was only around 60 though, because the spacebar just leads to a quicker death. And checking my score every couple seconds also leads to death.
Good game! Awesome art style!
Interesting game! Good art, the 2 button controls are annoying.
Haha, I too have lost a lot of time messing with collision in Unity. And gravity, and raycasting, lol.
Great art! Good game!
I like it!
Mamma Mia!
I disagree with all the previous commenters, I liked your game a lot. My only complaint is the cost increase. Why does it eventually cost me 30 sunshine to make a new leaf? LOL, I worked hard to gather that sunshine don't price gouge me like this! :)
I wanted to see if I could grow my tree to the top of the screen (without breaking it), but I think it would take a really long time to gather that much sunshine.
Fun game, great music and sound. I like your interpretation of the theme. :)
Good job guys! In all categories.
I never knew how much fun it could be to hunt, kill, and eat a deer!
That was fun!
A PvP versus mode where you race against someone else would be A LOT of fun. I could probably play that for a couple hours a a time.
Thanks for playing! I will try your games soon!
VladRusu, you must have killed a lot of them. :O I Should have moved the camera up slightly every time the tree grew.
Farelle, it's lacking in polish and fun because I ran out of time. There really is no deeper meaning to the game, you play as a tree who grows because that fits the theme. Lumberjacks seemed to be a good enemy for a tree. Tanks were supposed to balance it, to come blow you up or light you on fire. But I ran out of time.
Roffe, it's kind of hidden on the Game Jolt site. Click the "more" button on GameJolt right next to the "download" button, and you'll see download options for Mac and Linux versions.
abuzreq, ahahaha that's a great idea!
LOL, I wanted to have chainsaws. But ran out of time.
Very nice! You should finish it and put it on Steam, there's enough content to make the Greenlight page now.
Good game!
Pretty good! My high score was around 15, I think... I'm not sure because it disappears when you die. :)
I always need more time to really finish my Ludum Dare games too, but it's still a lot of fun to program or learn something completely new and then share it with other people.
I went with the web version, because I don't know what to do with a .7z file. I think it ran correctly, although it was very dark and I never got attacked by anything. I just got lost a lot...
Also I'm not sure if I'm using the exact same torches as you, or they all just look alike. :)
LOL that's the best menu!
I think you have the theme covered multiple ways, spikes are pretty ancient technology (I think, based on movies I've seen), so are coins, and Atari.
I disagree with your boulder physics, how do they keep following me and not get stuck anywhere? But then again they wouldn't be much fun if they landed and stayed put...
I like your 2D camera effect, it looks cool. Although I wonder if it would give me a headache or motion sickness after playing for too long haha.
Not bad, but how many flowers does it take to make a pyramid!!
I'm not sure what to do, the juke boxes seem to want to kill me, the guy always runs left if I plug in an Xbox One controller, and walking onto a blue chair launches me into space. lol, Unity physics!
@Bob8213 haha well I did go back to the chair to launch myself again. :)
It looks great, and I have always wanted to shoot Romans. Just waiting for itchio to finish downloading...
That was fun! You forgot to use the best parts of Unity though, the built in Image Effects!! These free assets would probably look really good if you turned on the Ambient Occlusion, a color ramp, some motion blur (for their swords), and bloom.
Great game, thankyou so much for having the option for an inverted whip direction, I find slave racing games completely unplayable unless they let me invert the whip.
But seriously I would love to play a finished version of this on Steam, and show off to people that I have the badge, the trading cards, and 100% achievements for "National Egyptian Slave Racing League"!!
You made a nice relaxing world to walk around in, but where is my ancient technology? :)
Also might be fun to turn on a few camera effects so it's like you're drunk and trying to find your house in the dark.
Thanks for playing everyone!
@Strike Oh yes I will make the settings work in the future.:) It's all asset store assets, AutoDesk Character Generator people, stock music / sound, and borrowing a lot from my existing code. Then altering and adding to it until my simulator was realistic. I could never make a whole FPS with decent models in 72 hours, lol just working around random Unity problems/physics/weirdness can take more time than that. I'm pretty sure I spent longer than that just figuring out gravity in Unity, sure it worked when I set it in the RigidBody but as soon as two things touched eachother one would launch up into space. :)
Looks nice, but there's no one to battle me. :(
I really like the look of it!
I like it! The floatiness of the camera adds some nice challenge to it too.
Fun game, would be great on a phone. The music is all right.
Fun game. Oh and it's a compo entry too? Good job!
Good job, I like it! Has a nice feel to it.
Only bugs I came across were my onscreen gui disappeared after dying a few times, and a second of floor I kept falling through - but it respawned me back where I left off, so no problem there.
I tried, but the apes won the planet. :) Pretty cool game. Nice art, interesting gameplay, funny scenarios.
That was awesome! Are you going to sell a bigger version on Steam or Google Play or someplace?
5/5, because F blind people!! Just kidding, but I did like it!
Funny game.Felt like I was running on ice trying to get those mushrooms!
lolol, a vacuum platformer. That's a great idea.
Hahaha great use of the theme. I want to get a Roomba for my house, and didn't know they also chased away mice. They should mention this in the marketing materials. :)
Thanks for playing everyone. If you're on a laptop or an old PC, try lowering the graphics quality and the resolution to get a higher frame rate.
Thanks for playing everyone.
I'll probably turn it into a VR game if I ever get a Vive or a Google Daydream.
I'm really bad at this game, but great use of Unity's physics!
Such a strange game, I liked it!
I enjoyed this game a lot.
@cesta don't feel bad about the fish, it was his destiny to disappear, so the voice can bring him back in the future!
@scrapmetal thanks for playing! It definitely gets harder and longer each level. I ran out of time to fine tune the difficulty.
@kvn thanks for playing! I like idea to alter the friction. Right now it's just using the Unity 2D physics.
@cazik21 thanks for playing! I ran out of time to polish the gameplay. The pace is kind of unrelenting and unbalanced.
@stuffmancer thanks for playing! I thought about a list of things to do. But ran out of time, and settled for not repeating the level if you fail. This was after I failed some of the levels, repeatedly.
@roitchie thanks for playing! Guy's story evolved, originally it was just a memory game, and he would explode if he got anything wrong. But myself and the voice realized that Guy deserved better.
Also I understand the karma system now. After playing and rating 10 games I figured it out.
@coderaurus thanks for playing! The game could definitely use more difficulty balancing and fine tuning. I settled on "no fail", so you just get different narrations if you fail, but the story moves forward no matter what.
@ellaris thanks for playing! That's exactly what happened. You started interacting before it counted. I had to add this limit as a temporary bugfix for preventing the narrator going crazy.
@alex-de-la-cour thanks for playing! I had a strategy to defeat the voice on the longer levels, when he started talking I would start interacting before he finished. I thought I was so clever, but I guess everyone does that.
@joegreen thanks for playing! It's not just you, I struggled after 3 or 4 things.
I actually played your game yesterday but never left a comment, overall it was a fun puzzle game.
@7uc4s thanks for playing! I never did solve the design problem of having the narrators description match what's active in the scene. Except the fish. You can never win with the voice and keep the fish.
I like it! I got eaten, but not before I solved a puzzle!!
Lol, those little mopeds have a death wish.
It looks really nice, and I see the potential with your original ideas.
After I figured it out, I was a pirate destroying machine!!
I really liked this game. I got overpowered pretty quickly though.
I had a lot of fun playing this! Despite playing on keyboard + mouse (I was too lazy to get a controller  ). I loved the variety of platforming then the combat timing.
I had a lot of fun with this. The levels are short enough that it doesn't matter if you fail, and it's fun guessing at the completely random requirements for winning. Then the master blacksmith's narrations made me want to finish each level just to hear what happens next. Sadly I never beat level 6, and I don't know why I earned 60% on it.
I liked it! The puzzles, the look, the story.
I like the idea! But I also could not see the buttons. I tried clicking everything, and only the ping button worked.
I couldn't get a good frequency. But I discovered the joys of randomly turning dials and flicking switching, hoping for the best.
I don't have much to add, other than it was a fun puzzle game.
