Thats So Punny by recursor 2023-05-08T22:44:50Z

Ok... this was SUPER amazing!!! Love the unique take! So much polish and the cheesy voice-over really added to it all!

I actually had an idea at one point to do a stand up comedian 'delivering' jokes...but wasn't exactly sure how to pull it off. Was something about choosing different punchlines to get the audience to laugh the most etc.

Comedy_Idea.jpg

But I love this execution! It's a lot of fun, and a part I liked is seeing how nonsensical some of the other answers are. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

If you wanted to add some additional depth, you could potentially have some scoring system, so rather than right or wrong answers, it's more least funniest to most? So then people could compare scores based on how funny their answers are? idk. it was just an idea that came to mind.

I love this as it is. But how may jokes did you have to enter??? That's impressive.

ΗΠΛ Debate Club by Ava Skoog 2023-05-18T20:40:22Z

Love this take on the theme!! The multiplayer concept is cool too, but playing by myself, would have been nice to have an AI opponent of some kind. :stuck_out_tongue: But that is also a lot for a 72 hr jam!

I loved trying to deliver a matching 'debate', and there was a bit of quick decoding on the fly, which was great! I struggled a lot with the controls at first though and the rhythm part in general. It was very unforgiving in terms of exact timing. I kept trying to use the arrow keys at first and failing a lot. (Maybe the UI could indicate the input?). Once I figured out using WASD, I did a lot better, but still did poorly at hitting the timing. It might've been because of running the html build.

The art is super charming, and I loved the sound FX! Overall, this was great!

The Newspaper Deliver by jk5000 2023-05-17T11:58:49Z

No matter how I did, it said I didn't deliver a newspaper to a customer. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

It took me a sec to figure out that I needed to throw newspapers to the newspapers. (And I'm still not sure that's right, but at least I made money, instead of negative dollars on my first few tries. lol).

The voiceover audio is so great!! Sometimes I deliberately smashed windows just to hear the reaction. :joy:

The biggest points of feedback I would have would be:

1) The speed of the steering on the bike. The overall speed forward was fine. Any faster and the game wouldn't be as fun. But the speed side to side just made things feel sluggish overall. Snapping that up a bit would make this feel nice.

2) I loved the throw mechanic, but I think it would've felt more fun if that bar filled faster. I just wanted to sort of flick newspapers. And it felt like I had to wait a full 5 sec or something for a full meter. Once the bike sped up, I couldn't throw fast enough and it just got too frustrating. If that filled faster, it would be this fun little mini-game trying to get it in that sweet spot in time.

There were some great things here that made for a fun experience. - Trying to dodge cars - Throw newspapers at the right speed - Deliver newspapers to the right houses - Pickup more papers - Pickup more fuel? Oh, I guess I was on a moped! - All while not hitting cars! :open_mouth:

That was a lot to think about and balance as a player that made me try multiple times. I think with a little tuning on some of those, this would be a great little game.

Was a nice nod to the classic. :newspaper2:

The Newspaper Deliver by jk5000 2023-05-20T21:32:25Z

@jk5000 That’s a pretty interesting evaluation. And I kind of felt that way when I was brainstorming. I had other ideas that felt more unique or original, but ultimately went with the one I thought would be most fun to work on or make.

Icy Porch by jebouin 2023-05-02T14:22:43Z

The level design and puzzles are SO stupidly GOOD!!! :sob: A few times I almost gave up (ahem, curious cat, *cough*).... and then pushed through each time and was like OOOOOH. So many good aha moments.

If you're not a level designer already, you really should look into it.  The levels are so well done.

The polish and art on this is ridiculous for a jam game. Holy crap. Nice stuff.

I also love that the premise is basically a delivery guy kicking boxes out of the back of his truck to the front door. LOL. Might be too realistic. haha

Parcel Pursuit by bloodyaugust 2023-05-03T00:35:31Z

The art is gorgeous!! I also had a hard time with the jump. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Undead Express by Zaphire 2023-05-18T16:23:57Z

Dang!! This looks super fun! Even at a glimpse, the way the car suspension works looks so great!! But unfortunately my PC isn't powerful enough I guess :sob: I'm running at around 5fps, which isn't enough to even control the car well. I'm not sure why, it looks like a low poly style. There must be some odd thing tanking performance. Which sux, because I really want to play this one!

Haul and Pray by Shess 2023-05-04T13:17:15Z

Wow..... I wish I could score this even higher than 5 stars for mood. The music, art, storytelling... all comes together so perfectly to create this immersive experience. I had a lot of fun with this one and really got into it.

I'm stunned at what you could accomplish in a jam. :open_mouth:

With some additional tweaks, I could totally see enjoying a full version of this on my ipad. It already fits well with touch controls. And looks beautiful.

I love the inventory system. It made for some interesting choices. And needing to choose what to keep/get rid of.

I also loved experimenting and trying diff items, there was a nice sense of discovery. I think for me, there were a couple things that would've made the experience even better?... (maybe in ver 2? :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: )

- It lacked a bit of tension. This was the main thing missing for me. It was such a great setting, with great character, and there were a lot of interesting player choices... but I didn't feel like I had enough indication or info on what some of those choices meant. Or why I would want to get rid of an axe to choose an apple etc? That's a really interesting choice, but there wasn't much reward or consequence in either. If I could tell my hero was about to die of hunger, choosing some food or fruit over a weapon could feel really rewarding. Or if I had hung onto my axe, and it pulled me out of some bandits stealing some stuff, that could feel satisfying as well.

- I already mentioned this above, but I think just a better indication of the state of my hero? Maybe it was there and I missed it somehow. But just some way to know am I low on health? Are massive mosquitos going to kill me? Am I about to die of hunger? (As a side note... I also couldn't figure how to cook the meat. )

Ok, this is way too long a comment, but I really really loved this one. And with a couple tweaks to make the choices feel more meaningful, it could be really amazing.

Haul and Pray by Shess 2023-05-04T15:21:19Z

@shess Yes!! And I realized a lot of that was tough within that time constraint. Like near impossible maybe. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: I'm honestly impressed how many events and items you had! :O

I also don't know what the right solution is. Just having a UI meter I don't think quite fits your vibe in this... so not sure what that is? But could even be some indication in a story event? Or maybe a change on the character ui inventory? Some way to give that tension. Since with it hidden I didn't know if I was close to dying or hungry etc.

I'll have to keep an eye on this one, as I'd totally buy it later.

Mead War Valhalla by UnidayStudio 2023-05-19T19:43:34Z

This was fantastic!! Love the art style and idea.

At first it took me a sec to figure out the controls. But got the hang of it pretty quick, and launching packages was a blast! (And I LOL'd quite a few times when it smacked a pole in front of me  )

For the time, I thought the UI worked fine for launching, but the look of the game has this nice chunky, almost Blizzard style look to it?... I really wanted it to be an in-world catapult or slingshot or something.

I also kept trying to pull back for power (like it was a slingshot) at first.

Loading the packages by dragging items to the box would feel more tactile as well.

I loved the feel of the world, but I think the UI and number keys took me out of it a bit.

But dang, I had a lot of fun with this one.

Witchcraft Starter Kit by Belea 2023-05-02T13:44:18Z

LOVE the art and overall feel on this. The little boxes are so great, I liked opening them each time to see what was inside.

I also cringed hardcore when I first used the pliers. :grimacing: The sound and all was way too effective

I completely understand cutting back based on time (all too well  ), but even from starting this, I was really excited for the 'alchemy' aspect. Trying out diff ingredients to see what they'd do, and how they'd affect the story or outcome. Instead it felt like just clicking through after a while. That was the only thing really missing for me. It felt like my choices didn't matter.

The feel and mood of this is so spot on though! And I liked the unique interpretation of the theme.

Electron Odyssey by Ziamor 2023-05-15T12:07:36Z

Cool puzzle game! I loved the concept, and it was very rewarding to power on the light.

The time slow was also a nice touch, but I also wish I had a little more time to make a decision.

The only reason I had to stop playing was the camera motion was a little too 'bouncy'. It started to bug my eyes. Which made it hard to take in the different elements and what choices I needed to make.

Overall, this was super cool and one of the more unique takes on 'delivery' I've seen! Love it!

Neo City Express by Pedro Medeiros 2023-05-03T01:36:05Z

WOW. JUST WOW. I am in awe. :open_mouth:  :fire:

Everything is so ridiculously good. And even when I crashed in a fiery ball of flames I was laughing my ass off.

I'm also crazy inspired and just as angry that you could create something so insanely good in a single weekend.

FredEx by ScrapMetal 2023-05-02T17:08:25Z

@twowolf Hahahaha! If I could vote on comments, I'd give this a 10/10.

FredEx by ScrapMetal 2023-05-02T21:37:55Z

@waptaincaffles :rofl: me too. lol

FredEx by ScrapMetal 2023-05-02T21:47:55Z

@bloodyaugust LOL. Yeah... it definitely needs some tuning. It should be hard, but right now, it is practically impossible. That $%$%&$ing tv and mattress.

I had a build where you could deliver everything at one point, but yeah, right now, it feels like $300 is a pretty high score. :face_palm:  I must have busted something in that last mad dash final hour of the jam.

I find it hilarious that Fred can't even manage to deliver a few packages only 20 feet down the road, but admittedly doesn't make for a very fun game.

I do wish I could fix the position of that stupid tv and upload a new build, but not sure that is very jam-like?

KissKiss Delivery by Jammin 2023-05-16T16:23:56Z

The controls took me a sec, as I realized you had be moving at max speed to turn. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: Which... WOW, that car is fast!! LOL.

Super cute concept and game!

Perfect Delivery by JulienLussiez 2023-05-19T19:23:04Z

Wow, the art style and animations are appealing af!!! :fire:

The polish here is really nice. I loved everything about this. Packing the truck was super satisfying to play.

Sometimes I would get a box that felt a bit 'sticky', like I couldn't easily let go of it, but overall, this was so much fun!! I love it so much!! Killer job.

Rogue 'n Royal by Bauke Regnerus 2023-05-03T15:18:21Z

What the crap. How many games did you make?? :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

I absolutely adore the look and style. The amount of mini-games + level of polish is astounding. :open_mouth:

It was such a fun game to play through multiple times. Such a neat idea and vibe. The music is perfect too. :ok_hand: (If not a bit intense in parts. lol). It was hyping me up. Even opening a treasure chest was stressful.

RPG The Game by Becher 2023-05-16T11:41:01Z

It took me a sec, but I figured out the drag and drop pretty quickly, (even though from the animated gif above, it makes it seem like you can just click to place a tile).

I do wish there was a little more feedback around the dragging a tile part. (Such as the tile being picked up, dragged with the mouse, and then 'placed' in the track).

I was also a little unclear on which track was for which character. All the icons on the top are the same, so after a while I wasn't sure if my actions were doing what I hoped. I think some connection or feedback from the track to the character doing the action would help a lot.

Overall, this was a very unique entry! Time to try the post jam version! (I wanted to evaluate the jam version as-is first).

EDIT: oh... one other thing I forgot to mention from the beginning, I felt like the story text might feel better if you could just click space through it, to go to each beat. Holding space to fast-forward felt odd. Like, I still wanted to read it, but wanted to click to the next one without skipping.

EDIT 2: Ok, just tried the post-jam version, but I'm not sure what is diff. :grimacing: :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: I would double-check that build. It feels the same to me. Also, with the credits below, I was expecting sound and music as well, but couldn't hear anything.

RPG The Game by Becher 2023-05-16T14:00:34Z

@becher Sweet!! Np! I'll check it out! Thanks!

RPG The Game by Becher 2023-05-16T15:40:19Z

Just played the post-jam version... oh yeah! That was way different! Nice improvements! That was fantastic. I loved the vibe of the music and sound fx.

And all the readability on the tiles and placing them was way clearer. I actually stood a chance this time. :P Nice work!!

Ariadne's Thread Delivery by Advarsky 2023-05-03T00:57:48Z

This looks so insanely good!! I was really looking forward to getting into this one... but also really struggled with the controls. I don't mind the weightiness of the truck, I actually loved that, it felt heavy... but the rotation on the truck felt completely unresponsive at times.

Forklift-em-up by BadPiggy 2023-05-02T12:56:04Z

Such an awesome take on the theme! I love this. So satisfying. I too would've loved some indicator on the box itself that it's about to break? (As it's a pretty important piece). That's usually when I died, not knowing when my box was about to break, then I'm jamming on the attack button, and before I know it, it's gone and I'm dead.

I do like how difficult this is though. Awesome entry.

Forklift-em-up by BadPiggy 2023-05-10T18:36:26Z

Just played the post jam version... the improvements are great! I got a total score of 2240 on my first try (51 zombies). Where I think before I could only kill like 9 zombies. LOL

Chateau Grenouilles by Paul Merkamp 2023-05-18T19:59:44Z

The graphics are FANTASTIC!! I love the art and humor. Pretty neat concept too. Hard as heck tho.

Part of it could be it felt cropped oddly on my screen. I felt like I wasn't seeing everything. But I really dig this one!

Deliver the baby! by Enad96 2023-05-03T18:51:29Z

My face from start to finish: :open_mouth: :eyes: :scream: :joy: :open_mouth: :open_mouth:

That was so awesomely good.

The audio and music were so spot on. Just incredible.

I do wish the attacks were a bit snappier, but maybe that added to the charm. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: Hard to complain about anything when that just kept getting better and better.

That was epic. :fire:

Also, did I just play the origin story of the liver king? :joy:

Handle With Care by HumanIsRed 2023-05-07T14:37:43Z

Holy crap!!!! :open_mouth: This was so much fun to play. Experimenting with the different parts was a blast. (Even if ending in total failure on multiple attempts)

I'm blown away how much you were able to fit into this jam. It's insane!

Everything is so ridiculously awesome. The player animations are crazy good. I absolutely loved the feeling of being the builder in his garage, welding together random parts... and I think all the player controls and amazing animations really added to that feel. (Rather than simply an editor). The building part was a big aspect of the game, and felt immersive, rather than separate.

I am in awe.

This was one of my first (failed) attempts at my vehicle :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

handlewithcare_vehicle_01.jpg

That time I got to help my father in his new garage by Seraphyi 2023-05-18T22:45:12Z

Dang, I've never been so stressed out trying to pick the right tool. :cold_sweat:

This game is triggering! The emotions and trauma it created in me was uncomfortable af, but damn, the art and animations are so good!

📯 POSTAL HERO 🏹 by Caca 2023-05-15T11:56:58Z

WOW. So ambitious!! :open_mouth: I can't believe how much of a full game you have here in this amount of time. It's really impressive. I love the art style and vibe!

I also loved the sorting part before the delivery, it really added a lot! At first, my instinct was to drag and drop letters to each box, (which would've been a fun tactile element, but for time sake, it's totally understandable).

My only bit of feedback was related to the mailboxes. I had to check the map a lot, which was really critical in knowing which mailboxes to deliver. (A hard lesson on my first day when I rode out the opposite side of the city by accident. LOL). But it would've been nice to indicate a slightly diff color or some way to know as you pass it, which mailbox needed the delivery. Even after checking the map, I found myself just shooting letters at every mailbox. :joy:

Volksdam by Wuppos 2023-05-02T13:24:28Z

The vibe of this is sooooo good!! The art and sound and everything is just fantastic. Really amazing.

My only bit of feedback would be if there was a way to put the arrows just above the player's head somehow and still have it read ok? I really wanted to look down there at my character and feel like I was riding the bike delivering papers etc, but instead I was looking at the sky the whole time. Anytime I wanted to take in the art, I did poorly. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: But otherwise, I really loved this one.

Return to sender by Katya Pavlenko 2023-05-17T14:43:40Z

So creepy and moody. The art is so ridiculously good!!!

Hell'o-Cargo by agudar 2023-05-15T12:58:56Z

WTF???!! This game is absolutely GORGEOUS!! :open_mouth:  The art, animations, audio, puzzle design and controls that just feel really good all come together for an extremely enjoyable experience.

The difficulty ramps VERY quickly, to the point I almost quit at the 3rd level. But there was something about it that kept me trying until I finally beat it.

I loved all the little details, (the way the jump feels, the little squish when you press down, the dust fx on your feet, how you die, how you die when you get squished by a platform, :joy: , the way the lasers feel and react, and the charming jump in the box anim).

This game is stupidly good, on all levels. If I had to pick a top game for this jam, this might be it for me.

Delinquent Delivery by SJPixels 2023-05-05T04:15:32Z

Super appealing art and animations!! Holy crap! You even got a 3-hit combo anim in there?? Geez.

Also love the theme :cowboy:

This was super fun right from the start. I love the brawler style while trying to escort the wagon. A very unique take on the theme. So great.

Even though I totally sucked at it (even tho I tried many times), I had a lot of fun.

The only feedback I would have (and these are super nitpicky):

- I struggled with the dodge roll a bit. I couldn't just hit a button and dodge and the direction influenced. It felt like I had to be hitting an arrow key AND shift to even do the move at all. It was such a useful move, I had to use it, but it usually got me killed more times than not. - The hit detection on attacks felt pretty specific. If I was too close to an enemy, it completely whiffed the hit.

Again, these are crazy nitpicky. Especially for a jam. What you accomplished is killer! Love it!

Cow Delivery by RenardGames 2023-05-02T11:39:37Z

That eating animation!!! So good! And also shocking. :open_mouth: :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: It has such a cute feel, I wasn't expecting that. lol.

I love the vibe of this, the music is so fitting as well.

Egg Panic by RobLaro 2023-05-07T14:01:27Z

This is amazing!! Love the look and style.

Such a simple concept, but so well executed with a lot of great details! I love the expressions and the way the eggs crack. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

I want to try it again on my main pc, as the gif you posted looks so smooth. I think my laptop was running it slightly slow, which for me, was causing the player rotation and turning radius overall to be a tad wide and slow. Which made it really difficult to dodge chickens.

Machine Meltdown by Stefan Funke 2023-05-02T21:03:17Z

Absolutely GORGEOUS!! I love the color palette and look of this. One of the most beautiful games on here...

At first I was going to give my feedback after playing with keyboard, but decided to grab my controller and give it another try.

It feels way better on controller. (but your notes already say that :stuck_out_tongue: )

I think with a little tuning, it could play as good as it looks. (Some of these might be repeats above, but I didn't read through all)

Here are my notes from playing:

- There is a slight lag or delay on the attack swing. (Maybe it's deliberate, but it's just enough it feels sort of bad).

- The choice of mouse button for attack (when on keyboard), didn't work too great for me. I was trying to play on a laptop and the trackpad for attack was awkward. It's better on A button with controller, but I still would have preferred X I think.

- Needs a checkpoint when you die. Having to re-click through dialogue is too punishing.

- The boss animation is absolutely killer!! (But yeah, taking damage when he touches you was slightly confusing, I thought I was trying to avoid his fist attacks).

- An audio mixing pass would help a lot. (Some sounds were very quiet and others super loud)

Great job on this though!!! It's pretty incredible for a jam game. Damn. :fire:

GobEx by WeirdBitGames 2023-05-17T13:36:35Z

WOW!!! That was chaotic and just a blast to play!!

I really loved the creative take on the concept and it was executed so well. (A postal delivery goblin that steals shit??? omg! ) So good.

It did take me a few tries and then finally reading through the tutorial to figure out how to package stuff properly. On first try, I thought the items below were things he wanted. (I also thought the numbers meant how many, not hotkeys).

Everything else felt so tactile. I loved the drag and drop and physics feel to it all. And the way a package looked and sounded when opening. It was very satisfying ripping packages open!

Having to hit (or remember) hotkeys for which items took away from the tactile experience of it all. Maybe clicking those could be buttons? And it drops those items somewhere to grab? Or maybe you just drag from there (as if there are boxes of that stuff, and it puts the item into the mouse drag).

Regardless, I really got into it and played multiple times. The fact you have a high score leaderboard on top of it is crazy!!!! And awesome. I might have to dig back into construct again, because everything felt so polished and nice, and I can't believe how much you packed in here. Such awesome stuff!

As it got more frantic near the end, a few little minor tweaks stood out to me that might make it feel that much better...

I loved how gratifying it was to package a fake item. More satisfying than giving the goblin a thing. And I realized what it was... when you are dragging a fake item and you hover over an empty package that matches, it's instantaneous. You don't have to click again. It just does it. I wish it did the same when dragging an item to the goblin or the spring launcher. That extra click got painful as it got crazier. Having to click an item, drag, then click again over the goblin started to feel a bit cumbersome, and I wanted to just drag it quick and he just takes it and does his little happy thing. If the spring and the goblin were as instant as packaging an item, this game might end up being too much fun, and then I might not play anything else. LOL

Overall, I had so much fun with this one. It was so frenetic and such a blast. If I could give it 6/5 stars for fun, I would.

Delivery Boy by waptaincaffles 2023-05-04T16:31:49Z

My highest was $1632. I know I can do better. And the best part is I want to keep trying. But the phone ringing got me stressed out, so I need a break.

This is so FANTASTIC!!! The art, music, sound, game loop is so cohesive! It's super fun and addicting.

The controls are nice and snappy.

Originally, one of the ideas I thought about trying was along the lines of being an uber driver. Picking up orders etc. And this might be the closest thing I've played to that... but far exceeds it!!

You really nailed the frantic-ness of taking orders and delivering stuff at the same time. It's so great.

Also, falling to your death might be one of the most painful ways to fail. :grimacing:

Office Rush by ryegame 2023-05-18T23:05:51Z

WOW!!! Holy shit this game is awesome looking!! :scream:  How did I miss this one?? It looks so amazing. I love the style and vibe and everything so much.

I was dying when I delivered a package to the wrong person. :eyes: :fearful:  And when the boss walks in at the end.

I also LOVED the sound and music. So fitting. (The only sound I did not like at all was the dialogue noise. It felt a bit ear piercing and not quite mixed with the other audio, but otherwise, the sound fx and music added so much).

I do agree with others that the controls could be snapped up a bit, the up and down feels a bit sluggish, and doesn't quite match the vibe or art, but it's a minor thing, and would just make it feel more polished overall.

This is such a killer entry. One of the top IMO. It's a shame you don't have an HTML build, I think you would've gotten a lot more plays.

House on Time by kesha11S 2023-05-16T20:57:46Z

The art, music and overall style is SO good!! Love the vibe of this.

Not gonna lie... when I first got hit by a car, I jumped and almost screamed in my chair. It really made me jump. The sound on that is perfect. (And the screen it goes to is very fitting and made me laugh).

This is nitpicky, but the main thing that took me out of it is the fact the cars drive in opposite directions in the same lane and just pass over each other. It's a small detail, but makes a huge diff.

I love the characters and world. The music is fantastic.

Delivery G.U.I. by JpBaraky 2023-05-03T15:35:53Z

I hate to admit, but first thing I tried was hitting a bird. :grimacing:  Glad they were ok, even if at the cost of immersion. LOL

This is such a cute game. I love the concept!! Such a fun vibe right from the start. I actually really love the mix of high tech and people out in the wilderness. I actually thought I was delivering supplies and food at first which would've been cool.

Here were a couple of my notes from playing: - The art looks killer!! But I think it would feel even more polished if things matched in resolution better. (It's weird how the boxes have so many pixels compared to the background etc). - I wish the controls were snappier/faster. Like I want to be able to go really fast if I choose to. Especially with the delivery point that far away. The trade off is handling or crashing? The horizontal movement just felt slow for a drone imo. - I thought I was delivering to the npcs at first. It wasn't super clear. And even when I made a delivery, some extra positive feedback would be nice. (I was still unclear if I made a successful delivery or not).

Overall, I really loved this! Killer job!

Message to the End by edenic666 2023-05-02T12:41:16Z

Wow! The art is so incredible. I'm genuinely impressed how much you were able to make for the jam. I also love the work you've put into your characters. This had a lot more depth than I was expecting. Really nice work.

LD54 — Limited Space

LIGHTDANCER by xk_the_name 2023-10-10T13:12:34Z

WOW. :open_mouth: So much polish. The mood, audio, atmosphere, color palette... amazing FX... all work so well together.

I love the little shake on the bow. Gives really nice feedback to firing.

Really incredible ramp into difficulty as well, and organically teaching the player at the start. The whole thing is so well done. :raised_hands:

I also love the how the red eyes show through in the dark. That was a nice touch.

Donut Park Here! by Rongo Matane 2023-10-03T16:41:01Z

Such a great take on the theme! SO many great little details too... the physics are tuned so nicely, the way the cars react to getting hit, customers getting pissed off, the art is GORGEOUS, and super cute, day/night cycle, nice sense of progression... even the little horns on the front of the orc truck?? What?? So good.

I was laughing my ass off at this one.

There is also a nice ramp in difficulty/skill required. Like once I figured how to drift etc, it was very rewarding. But I still had a hard time getting cars out without a scratch, which made it aggravating and hilarious. (Because it feels achievable).

I am blown away by what you were able to achieve in this time. :open_mouth: It's insane... and so so good.

I did have a little trouble running it on my laptop at first, it ran such low fps, I could barely control it (especially in full screen)... so I wanted to give it a fair shot and run it on my PC before rating.... and WOW, it is a blast to play, and just looks absolutely beautiful. Nice work.

I'm going to have a hard time getting through the other games, as I can feel myself pulled back to this one to keep getting further. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: It's got a great hook.

Tiny Tour by Bugord 2023-10-04T12:47:39Z

Great concept and vibe!! The art is fantastic.

I would love if the crash was more satisfying, like car crunches and smoke goes up? But that's nitpicky.

You have a lot of great levels that ramp up in challenge. My brain is tired now. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Critter Crunch by ScrapMetal 2023-10-04T14:34:23Z

Great feedback all! And I agree with all of it :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

My plan was to have very expressive critters (so @svenerik your note is spot on :ok_hand: I also love the idea you could scatter them, that sounds pretty fun) and multiple levels with a sense of progression. Still working on a post-jam version that I'm hoping will be closer to what I envisioned. Still learning how to get all this done in a few days. I never leave myself enough time for polish. :sob:

But these are great notes! Much appreciated!

A Better Place by SvenErik 2023-10-05T13:55:19Z

The visuals and audio are just so spot on. :ok_hand:  They compliment each other nicely. And the little dust effect and audio cues when you are sorting trash make it super satisfying.

It did take me a few tries to really 'get it'... at first I thought I was a racoon just sorting trash into the proper bins. And the faster I went, the better the score. Which, as relaxing as it was, didn't seem like it had a lot of challenge. But when I realized I could pre-sort trash into piles for extra points, it got way more interesting. And I really felt like a racoon sorting and organizing trash  That actually felt relaxing and was fun... the downside is, I couldn't get the right-click to work for whatever reason. I finally figured out I could use shift-drag to move those piles... but I couldn't figure out how to get them in the bins.

I do think there is something there... there is a risk in piling stuff beforehand, and you get a bigger payoff/score... but you're also risking not getting any points if the timer runs out. I just wish I could figure out how to actually get them in the bins. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

The art and audio is so dang good. Great stuff!!

Ben The Binder by KewDev 2023-10-04T17:24:08Z

WOW..... the vibe on this one is SO good.... I love the dim lit pixel art look with the immersive audio. I was hooked immediately.

Love the take on the theme too! I had multiple times I hit max space on that stupid floppy disk

I will say, it got a bit grindy for me near the middle.... but I was so in it, I felt compelled to keep going and finish. I loved the premise and setting. I think at the start, I had expected there to be more messing with files on other servers etc. I realize that's probably way out of the scope of the jam... and so for how complete this is, it's just awesome.

Part of me wants to replay and deliberately do badly. I was so on top of getting rid of viruses... I'm curious what happens. There was such nice build up and anticipation with the clippy thing.. I love it, but when I did well, it didn't have much of a pay off. Just the audio alone made me jump a couple times. But I thought maybe there would be more of a tease or something happening.

The biggest thing I would tweak is the camera bob. I actually felt motion sick and have a headache now. :grimacing: :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: I think it's the back and forth rotation on Z... seeing your horizon line bob like that will make anyone motion sick over time. I like the bob... but maybe get rid of that rotation? Especially with how much walking you do.

This is such a killer entry. Nice work!!

Packed to the Gills by npckc 2023-10-10T13:22:46Z

The music, polish and overall flow is just incredible... it feels like a full game.

Limitverse (ludum-54) by eugene-b 2023-10-06T03:03:20Z

Cool concept and the art is awesome!! Has almost a modern 80s vibe to it. I dig it.

I felt like I needed the damage or rate of fire higher? The shooting got a bit frustrating. And at one point found I could just bypass monsters and go through the door, so I started doing that instead and just avoiding combat altogether. :grimacing:

I kept clicking on the gun hoping to swap weapons. With the bouncy walls and tight spaces... I feel like there is something interesting here, just need to make the player feel a little more powerful and have some variety of weapons?

Nice stuff!

Bloody Barrels! by Lucas Vaudaine 2023-10-03T16:57:40Z

Damn!! The atmosphere is just killer on this one! It really feels like you're below deck with pirates above. So many great nuances to give you the sense you are there. The audio and visuals working together were just fantastic. :ok_hand: Was I smelling damp wood and ocean water at some point? :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: Really nice work.

The dialogue is hilarious too.

It looks so insanely good, I kind of wished the collision shape on the barrels were a bit tighter, it looked off when they clipped into each other sometimes. You set the bar so high! I also kept trying to jump. I get why you didn't have it... but even if spacebar did a terrible low jump, it would help a little with some of the frustration. haha.

I actually felt super claustrophobic at the beginning. So... great job?

LD55 — Summoning

No one makes the Grand Warlock wait! by Danga 2024-04-16T21:36:22Z

This was really great! Loved the overall vibe... even with the simplicity, felt very polished. I loved how satisfying it was to pick up a demon in your net and lob them off a cliff. :stuck_out_tongue:

Took me a few tries to understand what the UI elements meant. But once I did, and figured out that I needed to capture a specific demon... and that the red circles were my health... the game became super difficult for me. I wished there was a way to get more health somehow, because once I got hit, it was so hard to recover.

I did really love the sort of bounty hunter/demon hunter aspect a lot... but I did find it difficult with the angle of the demon faces to find the right one at times... I'd take damage trying to figure it out... is that 4 eyes or 2?? :eyes: Oh shit. Only 2. Dead. LOL

I think if there was a mix of some kind of weapon that would just blast the ones you didn't care about off the edge... and then the net took more hits and difficulty trying to capture... could be a fun mechanic.

Really nice entry!!!

Summonion by KeithSwanger 2024-04-18T17:36:09Z

I have no idea what I just played... but I LOVED every second of it.

And just when I thought I beat the game... that punk ass kid unleashed unholy hellfire on me.

This was so great. On so many levels. Love the sound effects too!!

Spirit Edge by BadPiggy 2024-04-16T20:14:52Z

Killer stuff!!!! :open_mouth: (as always ;)) It's so good, and so juicy. :ok_hand: Super super satisfying... and this one has such an addicting hook and loop. I like the balance of slaughtering guys and then having to reap their souls for extra health. It creates this nice brutal difficulty while still giving you a chance to survive. LOL Really great stuff! If I could play this with a controller, I'd probably play it for hours and lose track of time...

A cake from beyond by Nuanda79 2024-04-23T17:06:34Z

Vibe points: 100++++ :100: :raised_hands:

The art and music... just perfect. :ok_hand: They set the tone so well. And overall nod to Day of the Tentacle feel... SO GOOD. Wow. Super impressive. That is so much work too. :open_mouth: Really great job.

My only notes would be: - Dialogue would be nice if you could click to speed up? - I realize for a jam timeline, this might make it too easy, (and maybe not enough time to implement) but I do wish I could do things out of order a bit. Some of the best things about those old games was doing the wrong thing, or picking up random stuff and the characters saying funny things about it. "I'm not putting my lips on that." etc

Throes of the Javelin by MatterLinx 2024-04-22T20:27:38Z

WOW.... :open_mouth: I am in awe. I have no words and a tear in my eye. It's SO beautiful and so well done. :cold_sweat:   :sob:

The music is just perfect and so emotional.

I absolutely love this take on the summon theme... and the way you throw and recall the javelin is just SO satisfying.

The art, sound effects, animations, controls, and music are all so cohesive, and just add to the overall experience.

I really really loved being able to play through with a controller too. It felt so good.

This is the top entry IMO. :raised_hands: Congrats on getting 1st place... (my prediction) :trophy:

Ascension by Pigeonescu 2024-04-21T20:14:59Z

Really nice work!!! And the music is incredible. :open_mouth: :open_hands: Creates such a nice atmosphere.

The chain mechanic is such a cool idea. With some extra time and polish, could be pretty satisfying to use. At the moment felt a tad slow... I kept trying to charge it up and aim it at first (like a slingshot etc)... but I think the way it works now could be cool if the chain came a bit faster and the speed of rotation was slightly higher?

Really neat entry!! Nice job. :ok_hand:

Vampire Summoners by DenisMarasan 2024-04-21T19:58:29Z

It's an interesting concept... and the art is super cool!

I was a little unclear on what the swipe effects meant that kept appearing next to me...

And maybe I missed it, but wished I had some short range or melee ability I could use in a pinch, along with the timer abilities.

Great entry!

LuciFare by Aaron Hart 2024-04-17T21:41:52Z

This gets extra points just from the name alone. So great! :ok_hand:

My first time, I just drove around and couldn't figure out what to do. Then when I went back to the main page and noticed you could hit E to bring up your phone, I did a little better the next time... :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: Such a great concept!

LD56 — Tiny Creatures

Blobbies by tuism 2024-10-17T12:47:25Z

Such a great vibe!! And so much polish!!! My gosh. It's so good. Really nice progression of difficulty too. Outstanding.

Jelly Gang by Split82 2024-10-17T15:16:39Z

OMG. :scream: This was FANTASTIC. I loved absolutely everything about this. Such a unique take on the controls too.

It's so well designed. From the art to the sound to level design... wow. Such a nice simple graphic style. But they feel so cushy and bouncy. It's so much fun moving a big cluster around.

It's weird when you come across a game that was a similar idea to what you had at one point, but then does it SO SO WELL. I don't know whether to laugh or cry. :joy: :sob:  SO WELL DONE. :heartbeat: :raised_hands: 11/10

TINY PACK by xk_the_name 2024-10-17T12:40:34Z

The art and gameplay... OMG. :open_mouth: It's astounding what you accomplished in 48 hrs. Damn. Really cool entry. I now have a lot of guilt losing so many of those cute little critters... :sob: :joy:

Adelie - When We Were Young by Meep 2024-10-21T15:36:14Z

@rickylee @itsboats @kuviman How TF did you guys do that?? Omg. That's impressive. I got 210. Eat that.

Adelie - When We Were Young by Meep 2024-10-21T15:39:23Z

This game was SO much fun!! The movement felt so fast and fluid. And there was just a nice flow to it. Very rewarding when you could deliver a bunch of fish. Everything read really nicely and you could catch on to the gameplay easily. The little babies were so cute too.

Those spikes can suck it tho. BRUTAL. My poor penguin babies starved because of those f*ing things.

Walk the Planck by alexrose 2024-10-08T21:23:46Z

HOW TF did you pull this off?? My gosh. :boom: :flushed: :scream: :eyes: The vibe is SO good and it's just OOZING POLISH.

The voiceover work really makes it. As well as the super charming polished art. I was laughing the whole time... until... I was crying and cussing at my screen. Then I rage quit so hard I may have broken my keyboard. I ctrl-alt-deleted so hard. :grimacing:  10/10 Would play again when I fix my keyboard and feel like being punished.

Build The Sun by TRASEVOL_DOG 2024-10-22T14:43:34Z

OMG. This is incredible.  I actually had to stop myself from playing because I needed to do other stuff, and I could literally play this for hours.

It's so fun and satisfying. Such an engaging loop, and the music and art and everything make for a very chill relaxing experience. I loved the little jump into the slots animation. It's so dang cute.

The upgrade style reminded me of Kingdoms and I absolutely LOVE that game. There is something so gratifying and tactile about it. This game takes that fun interaction and makes a very new and unique experience out of it.

There is so much I loved about this I could go on and on... I wanted to keep exploring and building out my colony all day.

I only had one bug that kind of hindered things for a bit, and that's when I lit my second fire, my fire scout guy stopped working.. .he didn't light up the path any more which made it difficult to explore. But then that fixed as soon as I upgraded that fire.

I am absolutely blown away by this entry. I really want to play a full game of this now. :fire:

I wouldn't be surprised if you guys are one of the top overall entries. Definitely deserve it. :raised_hands:

Summony Flute by Amolker 2024-10-22T12:38:56Z

This was a really cool premise and gameplay loop. As others have mentioned, maybe having a smaller enemy to encounter first would ramp players into the combat part? My first group was massive and intimidating. (And honestly felt like a mini-boss), and I had barely summoned a bird.

I love the idea of playing the instrument with gestures and summoning creatures that way, but I had some bug where it was trying to draw off screen at times, and didn't recognize my shapes then. (I also think drawing the shapes with a mouse was difficult, touch controls would be easier). And I think that part hindered my experience a bit.

But this is such a cool entry! And very unique.

Critter Conflict by SpiRiTs 2024-10-17T10:18:37Z

The huge bosses look awesome!! :open_mouth: I also suck at the game. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Carrot Patch by Historymaker118 2024-10-21T14:59:50Z

Grey carrots are bad mmmm k? I couldn't tell if the purple gave me a boost, but I like to think they did. The rabbit explosion was really well done and the sounds were SPOT ON!!! So good!! I loved this entry overall. :carrot: :rabbit:

Tinygotchi Creatures by Vinicius Veronese 2024-10-08T20:57:15Z

WOW!! Looks INCREDIBLE!!! :scream:  The mix of 3D (the detail in that model too... damn :fire: ) with 2D pixel art absolutely blew me away. Gave it such a nice tactile nature too. Felt very immersive. (To the point I was legit annoyed at whoever kept tossing me more Tamagotchi's. )

But... I also completely suck at this apparently. Even when I thought I was catching on (re-reading the cutest manual ever about... 5x)... then trying again and feeling like I was getting better, it would end and I got a whopping high score of 000 every time. :sob:  Even when I felt like I was doing pretty good, and keeping most of them above 1 heart, somehow it would end.

Does it end with a timer? or when one of them reaches no hearts? I'm guessing hearts, but that part was unclear to me. I also must have missed a step, because even when I reached 3 hearts, I still ended up with 000 at the end. :open_mouth: LOL.

I'll definitely be coming back to this one. Even if I suck. haha. Such a killer entry. Nice work!!

Pot Life by chuckeles 2024-10-08T19:58:54Z

Nothing like watching a cute little creature hatch from an egg and then... BURN IT. :fire: :flushed: :eyes:

This is SUPER cute and so adorably charming. I loved just watching them walk around in the magnifying glass, and the little footstep sounds are just perfect. :ok_hand: Even the little touches of the tiniest critters moving around and seeing the plants move to indicate one of them is there. So many great little details.

There is something oddly satisfying about using the magnifying glass to burn. (Even if the sound effect was a tad loud imo :stuck_out_tongue:).

I think if you fleshed this out further... maybe have multiple categories of things for the player to choose how they want to interact? Some positive and some destructive? I can see a lot of progression or upgrades. Or being able to check some meaningful stats... then give them items they need, such as water etc. There is a lot of potential here. But making it more 'sim'-like might be fun. The critter design is SO cute.

I actually had a lot of guilt burning that many bugs over time. LOL

But wow, this is one of my fav entries so far!! It's so good!

Pot Life by chuckeles 2024-10-08T21:28:30Z

@chuckeles thanks for sharing your progress in discord too! It was fun watching this one come together. I was looking forward to playing this one first thing

Boba Teeny by ScrapMetal 2024-10-11T12:45:41Z

@chrisbeck @pacelin @co5monaut Ha! Great find! :grimacing: :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

My original intent was to have the straw come in at random positions and angles... so maybe it would help with that? Then you couldn't just wait at the straw each time.

I also want to have a funny reaction when you get sucked into the straw but are too big. So maybe in that case... the suction also stops and the other bobas flee. (So you can't just cheese it so badly lol)

Boba Teeny by ScrapMetal 2024-10-11T12:47:23Z

Appreciate the great feedback all!

Boba Teeny by ScrapMetal 2024-10-11T12:48:57Z

@liliebagage Yeah... this was where I wish I had been able to get that in... better progression and varying colors of 'boba drinks' etc would help a lot.

Boba Teeny by ScrapMetal 2024-10-11T12:50:48Z

@pacelin Hmmm... might need to add some volume sliders in a post-jam version. The sounds are probably a bit loud huh? :grimacing:

Sewer Tales by Matthieu Riboulot 2024-10-08T21:53:07Z

This was INCREDIBLE!!! :scream: The look and feel of it I absolutely LOVED. Very satisfying to gather a huge group of rat followers. The amount you guys were able to cram in a 72 hour jam is astounding. "How many enemy types should we make for this? 50? Yeah, that sounds good". And then you pulled it off. :flushed: :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

The ninja turtle cameo was the best. :raised_hands:  I did feel a bit like Splinter walking around with my apprentices. lol.

Like others mentioned, maybe having some win condition of some kind?... instead of just dying would be good? But honestly, I enjoyed just exploring around.

Is the level endless? I was trying to figure out how you did that part... it's seamless however you did it. It feels so cool. One of my fav entries so far. Really nice work.

Snail away by Thomas_Bringer 2024-10-17T10:33:06Z

WOW! This is AWESOME!! In so many ways... the art style... music... super satisfying mechanics... My fav might be the stretchiness when you launch off a mushroom. Feels so fun. Being able to stick to all kinds of surfaces and defy gravity in that form is also a nice take on what you would normally expect. The way the snail conforms to the surfaces is FANTASTIC.  This is one of my top entries I think.

Mini Monster Market by mira 2024-10-15T15:18:34Z

Great game!! Loved the concept. You guys created a LOT of creatures for a jam too. :eyes:  The music and art came together for a fun vibe. (Because of the intensity, I wouldn't have minded the move speed just a touch faster...so I could store more in boxes). But I loved running my little creature shop!

Rift Critters by jebkam 2024-10-08T01:56:20Z

"I wasn't in it for the history. I was in it for the money." :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

The art is fantastic! I love the look.

I was a tad confused on the dimensions... (sometimes when I hit 2, 3, or 4, it didn't seem to respond)... so i wasn't clear what to do. But you guys might have the BEST cover image of all the entries. Really stands out.

Miku's Minion Madness by Miku 2024-10-17T09:17:33Z

Nice! You went for the 'tiniest' creatures! :spy: lol. Took me a sec to figure out how to play, but it's intuitive enough, I caught on pretty quick! I love the sound effects!!

Blob, To the Top! by MetRiko 2024-10-17T14:58:57Z

This was SO great!!! I loved the way the blobs changed as they stuck to each other. And tossing them around the level was a blast.

I do wish the charge up was a tad faster. (my fps wasn't great on my old PC either, so maybe that was a factor?)... But this had such a nice 'toy' factor. So many amazing details too... and the level transitions were really nice. :ok_hand: The amount of levels and polish you were able to cram in. Wow. This is such a top entry.

Blob, To the Top! by MetRiko 2024-10-17T15:19:24Z

@metriko yeah, the browser version was a bit too slow for me... so I opted for the download exe and it was much better. Thanks again for such a great entry!

Fairy Haven: The Search for Home by David York 2024-10-17T11:03:36Z

Wow. Epic battle of the squirrels!! I knew I shouldn't have messed with them. :grimacing:  This brought me back to some old text adventures! So great!!

Ludum Dare 56 by Mantsje 2024-10-09T19:35:51Z

This game taught me I should never be a kindergarten teacher.

I love the vibe and concept! Even if it's hard AF. :flushed: :cold_sweat:

I just can never keep these dang kids alive. After a while, I just started playing with the snake because I love that animation so much.

I loved this unique take on the theme!!

Shrimpy by Kultuk 2024-10-10T14:50:24Z

The art, music and sound all come together in a way that is SO relaxing and such a fun vibe! :relaxed: I really love the art and animations!! So cute.

I really think you just need a little more danger (tension), and some type of things to collect on the way up? (I kept trying to eat the little sushis :) )

If the spiky walls hurt or killed you... (which was a player expectation I think)... I would maybe tune the left/right speed down just a tad... I loved the responsiveness, but felt just a hair twitchy imo. I had a hard time controlling. But that is super polishy. Such a great entry!

RPigG by WeirdBitGames 2024-10-21T15:24:16Z

This was a super cool concept!! And really cute art style and vibe all around.

It did take me a sec to get the controls and gameplay. (Even after reading the tutorial a few times). I pressed everything but spacebar at first. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: And blew all my stars as I was just clicking the arrows. But after I figured out the movement, it all clicked. Really unique concept. I really got into it and got MUCH further my second play through. :joy: I can't believe how many levels and enemies you got in here. :open_mouth: Once you get into later levels, the trade off between just taking a hit and using stars becomes really important and a lot higher stakes. I really like the progression and having some easier levels at first to get the concept. I did feel like all my treasure chests were bogus near the end tho. Which made me feel like I wasted some stars toggling to it. Those would be really useful then. (Even though I like the risk).

I also wasn't sure what the broken hearts or broken shields did? I'm guessing they busted a heart container or shield? But it didn't give me any UI feedback. If those worked, it would've been crazy hard. LOL.

This was super awesome!! I loved it! Really nice work. (I also started learning Construct before Unity and have a deep fondness for that engine and greater appreciation for games made in it :).

RPigG by WeirdBitGames 2024-10-21T15:50:01Z

@weirdbitgames Oohh! I see! That makes more sense. Just a null item that isn’t damaging, but isn’t useful either.

This was great! I’ll definitely check out the post jam version!

Please Find Them by AdamLenglen 2024-10-11T12:19:59Z

WOW!! This is so great!!! The art is top notch and super polished. Looks amazing. I was super immersed in each house.

I'm amazed you had this much variety and so many houses in this amount of time. :scream:

Some of the hints got very complicated as you got further in and my brain got tired. LOL

I loved the feel of going through the doors, and the nice transition between rooms was a nice little detail.

The design and animation of the little creatures was my fav!! Really great entry.

Billions must bite by Spica 2024-10-10T15:47:20Z

I LOVE this idea! And drawing from real world inspiration is so awesome. (Even if annoying af). :grimacing:

The art and sound is ADORABLE.

The wall splats are super satisfying. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

I think gameplay-wise my main note might be?... simplify? It felt very slow to get into the gameplay (before mosquitos appear), and I almost wish I just hit space or E to wake up and try to smack as many mosquitos as I could so I could get back to sleep. But the longer you stay awake, the more annoyed you get, and (maybe harder to hit?) Like maybe your 'fly-swatter' cursor is a bit more wavy and inaccurate the more tired you are? (My main instinct was to just click the mouse to smack them).

The mini-game was cool... but sort of took me out of it a bit, and because the slider didn't stop when you hit or missed, was hard to tell when I was successful.

The score could maybe be simplified a bit too. :stuck_out_tongue: I felt a bit like this when it appeared:

math_meme_small.jpg

Maybe I'm not good at maths. lol

:grimacing:

Great work though!

Billions must bite by Spica 2024-10-11T19:17:13Z

Wow, this was really cool! The art is incredible. And the hamster movement is mesmerizing. Super addictive. Having to destroy a tile after upgrading felt painful... I kept wishing I could just move tiles around sometimes. But I think that might break some of the fun of this. The hamster info UI was :ok_hand: SO helpful to have the controls and info super handy right there. It really made the experience that much more enjoyable.

Tiny Takeout by Saprina289 2024-10-15T15:27:17Z

This looks awesome!!! I loved how interactive and 'sandbox-y'/sim everything is. It did make it VERY hard to fulfill even one order though, but I liked how clunky and noob employee I felt. Added to the humor. lol. I would maybe make the timer on the customers more forgiving? So you can manage to get a few orders maybe? Even when I had a cup of coffee made, I didn't know where to stand to give it the customer. But the shop looks so cool and I love the mood.

Defenders of the Crystal Skull by Imagicaine 2024-10-22T13:55:57Z

This was great!! Art, sound and vibe are so killer. :ok_hand:

Possible quality of life tweaks? (that might make the experience even more fun/enjoyable?)...

1) Keep the skeleton type selected in the UI. So the player can just keep clicking to place that type of unit. Would make it fun and easier to just place a bunch of grunts etc. (It's a minor thing, but having to click back on the right side constantly made placing units get really tedious).

2) Maybe some upgrade/progression to unlocking new units? So you start with just base grunt, then after killing so many enemies, or leveling up, you unlock ranger etc.

3) I kept wanting to zoom in sometimes :)

I did love being able to place units anywhere tho. Reminded me a bit of a super old game bungie did (myth?). Loved it!

Espionausage: Wiener Takes All by IonBingo 2024-10-11T12:38:27Z

I think some extra UI feedback might be good. I love me some blackjack or poker based games, and this seemed like it would be a funny take on that.. I loved the vibe and characters. :)

I was very confused at first. And it was unclear when the dealer won or what happened at the end of each hand. Some UI feedback would help there I think.

If you just wait too long, the game crashes too.

I had to try again after reading the directions... but I still was a bit confused on how to cheat etc.

I loved this concept though!!

Candyween by Megurt 2024-10-22T12:51:27Z

SO ADORABLE!!! :scream_cat:  Moving the little kittens around is so cute. Love the moody witch girl too... all of this has such a great vibe.

I had a hard time finding the candies at first. Maybe that's part of it, but they are really hard to see, so made it difficult to know what I was trying to do before reading the full tutorial. It was also a bit unclear how to use my kitty powers to help against the dogs too.

But overall, I loved this! The art and animations are so well done. Nice job!! :smiley_cat:

Would You Still Love Me? by RachelfTech 2024-10-17T12:29:24Z

The mood is so great!! And that music... :heartpulse: It's a subtle thing, but I actually really liked how much character your dialogue boxes had. It added so much to the experience! Nice work! (on a separate side note, just checked out your YouTube channel... you have some great vids on there!)

A Little Garden Prank by plasticsword 2024-10-17T10:22:00Z

I wish I could play this one. Been on my list from the start... but for some reason UE games give me an error on my PC...

Cute little game! That piano track was amazing!

LD58 — Collector

The Collector by Split82 2025-10-10T02:57:18Z

WOW!! I'm legit impressed you pulled this off in one day. :scream: Similar thing happened for me where I had so much going on that weekend, I decided I couldn't participate, but then when the theme dropped, I had a little idea I just HAD to try out even if I didn't finish. And only had Monday to do it. :sob:

But dang!!! You completed an entire game!!

It's funny how your idea is related in that I thought it would an interesting idea and choice for the player to try and collect things, and either deposit it, or use it as ammo.

This was so satisfying. I'll admit, I played so many rounds in a row, I had to take a break eventually because my fingers started to hurt. :eyes:  It's a very addicting loop. Especially with the upgrades. (Was definitely a "ok, one more round." then kept going for 10 more type of experience). :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Loved the art, sound, game mechanics, loop and everything... The only thing that didn't quite suit my tastes might be the pace of enemies? It felt like you only got a tiny window of a few seconds at the start to 'collect'. Something about the collecting was really fun in itself. And once the enemies spawned, they came so hot and heavy.... it became stressful SO fast, with no breathing room. Even when I cleared them successfully. I wished I had more 'moments' to just collect if I managed to clear some enemies.

I know that is more nuancy tuning... but I think I would've dialed down the enemies just a tad, and made things cost a bit more? idk. That is very subjective. The enemies made it crazy stressful, that's all I'll say. I loved what they added, but their spawn rate was so aggressive.

Overall, this has been one of my favs. Loved this little gem of a game this jam. :raised_hands:

Star Collector by boddiul 2025-10-12T17:22:00Z

3 hours??? Well damn. Bravo. So simple, so effective and a lot of fun. Really impressive. Geez. Nice job.

Happy Cleaning Co. by auxC 2025-10-13T00:05:20Z

"Slime is my only joy in life."

The voice acting is top notch!!! Such amazing characters. :joy:

This is SO INCREDIBLE!!! One of my top entries so far. :raised_hands: :fire:

The art, the audio, voice acting and mechanics are all so crazy good. I can't believe how many levels you managed to create as well. :open_mouth:

I loved the toy-like quality of sucking objects up and blowing them back out. I had so much fun playing around with that.

Also.... what in the Ninja Turtles??? An underwater level?? :turtle:  Loved how you had to use your reverse vacuum here.

Top entry. 11/10. Would clean trash again.

Outward by chuckeles 2025-10-10T15:19:07Z

SO GOOD! I love the chill experience, the art, sound, UI and everything is so cohesive and appealing. :relaxed:

The sound and music add SO much imo.

Some really nice polish on the upgrade pop-up. The way it rewards you when you complete your tasks.

The zoom and moving around all feels nice, and I like how you gradually reveal the map. I love these resource gathering games.. and this one has a great vibe! with lots of potential to add more

This is such a great entry!!

The Collector by ScrapMetal 2025-10-13T21:04:31Z

@stefan-b Good catch!! I'm so annoyed by that bug :face_palm:  I thought I fixed it just before submitting... but.. apparently not. :grimacing:

GEE by deniskazantsev 2025-10-17T19:24:09Z

Brought me back to bus rides! :bus:

Love the nod to those classics. The tactile buttons are so cool. (i loved hitting reset for that reason).

I love how minimal the frames are etc. Feels very authentic. But I also had a really hard time reading when an egg would drop. It almost needed a frame of it actually dropping before the splat? I could never get the timing right. I think that may have helped give some 'last min' saves that would feel rewarding.

This game is CRAZY hard atm.

Super Sucker by leorean 2025-10-12T16:57:24Z

WOW. This is so cool! I love the look and feel. I played with a controller and it felt so nice. Such classic vibes.

My sucker really sucked at first. :joy:

Such an interesting take on a puzzle game... sort of more open, but solving puzzles around the map to get upgrades.

I read this part AFTER I played: ""Every run is different! You’ll spawn randomly, and the upgrades are also randomized "" <----- WHAT???? This is random generated. Holy crap. :open_mouth:

I can't believe how much you crammed into a weekend jam. This was insanely IMPRESSIVE! :scream: :fire: :raised_hands: Fantastic job.

Wizard of toilets by BadPiggy 2025-10-13T00:12:24Z

As usual... HARD AF. :scream: :fire: :fire: But Oh soooo good. :sob: :heartbeat:

I said "shit!!!!" and slammed the R key more times than I'd like to admit.

Bug Bequest by Bea 2025-10-12T16:34:02Z

The controls were a bit tricky going from aiming to mouse controls... and the aiming was kind of sensitive, I struggled a bit. Couldn't figure out how to get the bugs in the box.

But the environment and cute art!!!! So good. Loved the overall idea.

Energy Rush by Stefan B. 2025-10-13T21:10:26Z

The masterminds artwork of the team above is absolutely FANTASTIC!! I was really looking forward to trying this one.. but my machine is too old apparently. :sob:

Out of Chalk by JustCore 2025-10-12T16:20:12Z

The atmosphere, art, color palette, audio and mood are all sooooo good!! Wow. So much polish to the movement and everything.

The puzzles are really well done. The difficult ramps dramatically though :grimacing:

I was able to finally do it, but had such trouble with the 3rd one I think? Then gave up on the next. :grimacing:

The puzzles might be TOO good. My brain is tired now.

Collecting Dust by jacobwinters 2025-10-10T02:38:22Z

I LOL'd many times at this one. Such a great take on the theme!

At first I was doing the wrong thing.. thinking i needed to literally collect dust. haha. So I was running around trying to collect the dust particles like it was an idle clicker. And the roombas were my upgrades. And couldn't figure out why I was not advancing. :face_palm: :grimacing:  I was like, damn, I need to collect a LOT of dust I guess.

Here i was thinking I was trying to clean... but I need to in fact make it dirty.

Those roomba cats were so dang cute and made me laugh everytime! :heart_eyes_cat: But also caused me to rage quit. LOL.

Great little game and fantastic art! Nice job!

My main point of feedback might be the font color? The grey was pretty light and I had a hard time reading some of the prompts. :grimacing: But that is a super nitpick. Oh, and maybe the sequel, you play the roomate and clean up the dust?

Nice work!

Garbage collector's minion by Mibi88 2025-10-14T18:43:40Z

I think I'm too dumb for this game. :grimacing: :joy: I managed to get through a few levels, but I didn't actually understand what I was doing. lol

Watching you build the code for this was crazy impressive though. :raised_hands: And I loved how snappy and streamlined it all felt.

The Witch Chef by dumchevdev 2025-10-14T22:15:36Z

This was AWESOME!!! One of my favs of the jam. :raised_hands:  The art, audio and vibe are absolutely INCREDIBLE!

I loved the explorative nature and discovery of trying out diff ingredients.

Over time, after I unlocked most of the recipes... it started to get frustrating as I really wanted to make them all and kept failing and getting the Unknown over and over. I thought maybe the order mattered? But I don't think it does. I eventually gave up, but it left me frustrated as I only had 3 left! :grimacing:

I also noticed the full screen option looked the coolest, but cropped the screen quite a bit on the sides for me. So it made me think I was missing something.

I couldn't figure out the soups for some reason. :disappointed:

This was so awesome though. I loved the tactile nature of stuff. And brushing by diff objects and how they would react. Made it super fun to interact with. I could see this expanded into a larger experience with ingredients you could quire or buy.

I'm genuinely impressed by the amount of amazing art created in just one weekend. :open_mouth:

Crown Crow by ThDudk 2025-10-12T22:01:51Z

Wow! Such a great concept!!! Loved it!! The flying animation and all the art is just GORGEOUS!

Kind of wish the walk speed was a little faster, but maybe it was on purpose to encourage you to fly?

But holy crap that golden crow... geez. So hard.

Might've been nice to have a return to home button? I didn't like that I had to die to return stuff and then it felt like I lost an item.

Overall, even if a bit on the hard side... SO well done!! :raised_hands:

Raccoon Captain: Cosmic Feast by Ruolin Zhao 2025-10-12T15:41:19Z

So cute!! Love the crazy creature design! :open_mouth:

I couldn't quite figure out how to put on my mask, but I did eat a lot of food! :joy:

Kind of wish the movement wasn't as grid locked... (like I couldn't press up and left at the same time) but it didn't hurt the experience too much.

For a first gamejam entry, this is crazy impressive!

THINGS I KEEP by APDT 2025-10-15T19:04:51Z

WOW!!! So incredibly beautiful!! The art is ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS! :scream:   :sob: I am blown away by how much incredible art you were able to make in that time! Super cute and appealing.

Such a heartfelt story too... got me choked up.

The art and audio just creates such an incredible vibe and mood.

The monster was scary af. :eyes:

Gameplay wise... it felt slightly flat to me. But tbh, building any kind of adventure game puzzle in this amount of time is an impressive feat.

One other nitpick... I wish I could've had a player initiated prompt to further the story panels. I felt rushed trying to read and take in the art, and then the screen would automatically change. Would've been nice to have more time to soak on the beautiful scenes and artwork.

Overall, really great job.

LD59 — Signal

Signal Towers by GanonsSpirit 2026-05-04T02:28:00Z

This was short. But a cool idea. It'd be nice if I could pick them back up too. A little more playful toylike tactile-ness would make this fun.

The Lighthouse by Iluvatar 2026-05-09T01:58:01Z

Wow!!! This was just incredible. :open_mouth:  I am in awe.

As a lover of old school lucasarts style adventure games... this really hit in the nostalgic sweet spot. The art, audio, story and level of polish are astounding. Killer job.

I immediately loved the tone and vibe it set. I wanted to snuggle up in that chair with a cup of coffee. :coffee:

I even failed and started over because I wanted to explore the other options and see the end. Just AMAZING stuff.

Missed Signals: Road Rage Frenzy by Random-storykeeper 2026-04-27T17:39:30Z

Wow. this just confirmed it's a good thing I don't run street lights IRL. :grimacing:

The idea is really cool. But my brain had a hard time tracking all the diff traffic patterns. It made the choices feel a bit more haphazard than deliberate.

Do it Right by captain-awesome 2026-04-22T01:36:13Z

The art and setting is SO well done. It has so much charm. And i love the living space. It's a cool concept but I had a hard time focusing with the voice going on that long. (And the mix is pretty loud)

Late For Work by ScrapMetal 2026-04-22T11:38:27Z

@crimsontrouper Driving after a beer would definitely improve the experience.:red_car::rofl:

Late For Work by ScrapMetal 2026-04-22T19:35:48Z

@vela-pulsar    I am dying...

Cadence of Glob by Orjan 2026-04-21T23:40:32Z

The character in this is just INCREDIBLE. Love the expressions and art style. The mix of 2D and 3D works well. I love how the lighting affects the 2D characters.

Maybe it's just me... but the dialogue might be too much?. I had to bail after a while. It's hard to read quickly with the animated effect. (As cool as it looks!).

The rhythm game was fun, but wish there was more juice there.

Also... I got derailed in the beginning and thought it was about the ball. I spent the first 5 min trying to get the ball in the device. :face_palm: It was crazy hard. lol. Impossible actually.

Rail Rush by Sharky3188 2026-04-21T16:18:48Z

Awesome game loop and progression. The wooden block theme is super cute. Just made it so playful and appealing instantly.

Having a collision was soooo painful and hard to recover from. The pain part created a really nice tension. But the loss was so hard $$ wise, it was impossible to recover... I usually just had to start over. :cold_sweat:

Avalanche by JulienLussiez 2026-04-21T03:58:12Z

WOW. first game of the jam I played. :metal: Vibe-wise and aesthetics... you KILLED it. :fire: Sounds design is phenomenal.. snow particles would've been awesome. But also... i love the way you can get around the environment. Good stuff!!

New London 3D Turbo 2000 by Revetoon 2026-04-29T01:28:08Z

This is INCREDIBLE. The car controls... camera... rear view mirror. :eyes: :open_mouth: what?? car damage.... :cold_sweat:  city and everything. :cop:

I love that I can play with a controller. (even tho I think it is easier with keyboard). The amount of polish and detail you managed to squeeze in to a weekend jam is astounding.

I wish I could adjust the sound levels a bit as the music was pretty loud. But... I mean... you had polished music and SFX too!! what the crap. it's so well done. I had a blast with it.

SIGNAL by ybzpp 2026-04-22T11:23:33Z

This has such a cool atmosphere and vibe. The driving is really well done. I loved your camera! I wish I knew how you did it. :flushed:  It followed the car nicely, but still had some nice rotation etc.

I feel like the steering and accel could have been a touch faster. The slow steering made it really difficult to avoid the bots or get away easily. I do love how weighty the car felt though.

The detection radius on the bots felt super high. I didn't know how to avoid them in some areas. Made it near impossible when I had 4-5 bots on me. I wasn't sure how to deal with them.

Overall, I really loved the concept. Nice work.

Seagnal by Pikario 2026-04-22T11:03:18Z

WOW. this one is SO impressive. :open_mouth: I played yesterday morning, but didn't have a chance to finish and rate. I found myself really looking forward to playing this again all day. The initial impressions... it sets the stage and atmosphere so well. It's instantly immersive. I found it fun to just wander around on the boat and just look around. The water and boat movement just blow my mind. It feels so good driving the boat. I love how you handled the boat control AND being able to move around the boat. Everything felt so good. And those waves on the water!!! What. :flushed:

I love the idea, and getting to the points on the map to find the signal is super cool. Part of it is just the way you delivered info. I didn't have to read the directions beforehand and felt like there was a sense of discovery on what to do in the game. All the info was there built in. LOVE IT.

When the cops started chasing me, I was slightly confused. Maybe I was going too fast? :joy: Then I realized, they are just coming at me no matter what? It had a nice element of danger and needing to avoid certain areas. I liked that it was possible to lose them. But I think it was a little unclear how to deal with the police boats. One X point looked like I had to go through the rocks, and it felt fun to try and figure out how to get there. I was having fun checking my map and comparing the actual terrain to see how I needed to navigate. But then the cop showed up and ruined my fun. Made it a lot less peaceful. Probably not in scope for the jam, but it might've helped to have a 'danger zone' or off limits area that you knew the cops might come after you if you went there. Having them coming after you no matter what made it pretty hard. I never found the first X.

The writing is really funny and very well done. :ok_hand: The radio was great. It felt a bit loud imo? I wished I had a way to turn it down or switch the radio for a bit. I kept looking for that on the boat somewhere at first. It just sort of dominated the nice atmosphere you created.

Overall, this is incredible. One of my favs so far of the jam. :raised_hands:

Melting Sun by JustCore 2026-04-24T21:06:44Z

SO GOOD. :open_mouth: :raised_hands: :fire: Damn. The atmosphere, art, sound, everything... engages you immediately. I love the papers please inspiration.... but building off it with something new... and managed to squeeze a story in to this short jam using this method. Unbelievable. One of my favs.

I wish I had not read that last comment tho... :grimacing: :cold_sweat: I had been doing each one by one.... ooops. :face_palm:

Dot Dash Mash by chybby 2026-04-28T02:22:52Z

The art and music overall create a very polished feeling experience. Unfortunately, I didn't quite understand it. I tried the first time and must have failed, then no matter what I entered, I could only reset the puzzle.

I also couldn't figure out how to get the dialogue to skip ahead faster. It felt pretty slow to read the text.

The buttons feel very tactile though. Which I love.

Plume Tactics by WeirdBitGames 2026-04-25T12:56:35Z

This is a cool idea!! Love the art and animations!

Morse Defense by ZenithStar 2026-04-22T12:20:33Z

This is awesome!!! :open_mouth: I feel like I know morse code now. Kinda. lol. It's pretty amazing that in just a few min, i felt like I was able to pickup basic morse code that quickly. The UI feedback and audio is phenomenal. I still felt it was tricky to nail the timing exactly right, but I felt like each time I played I got better. It got really cool when you started to get into more full words. Such a neat concept and so well executed. So polished for a jam game.

FixTheDamnSignal! by anszwa 2026-04-28T03:00:15Z

This was great!!! LOVE the simple but super effective art. Audio is super funny. Controls are fantastic. :ok_hand:

That tv sux tho.

I do wish I could have a few more clues to find the right spot, but yelling Dad every few min is a part of the experience. LOL.

I'm now going to need therapy from this toxic relationship.

Cardboard Delivery Service by skale 2026-04-28T13:26:50Z

This is such a cool idea! And love the cardboard theme and aesthetic. The art and little details are perfect. I felt like I was actually driving around in a little cardboard play area and map that someone built irl. My fav detail is when you hit something... the sound and feedback on the van looks so great. :raised_hands:

I really love the gameplay loop idea. Connecting the tower signals works so well for the theme.

I had a little trouble understanding I needed to find the main hub to start with, (I kept trying to connect to any tower at first) but it clicked as soon as I found that one.

My other minor point of feedback was the camera felt pretty bouncy when stopping. The follow cam overall felt SO nice, but something where you are starting/stopping a lot, it got a little motion-sicky for me. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: (And took away from the nice controls a bit).

It also took me a sec to realize I needed to connect to the towers twice with 'E'. One time to connect the signal, and another time back to my van. A lot of times, I thought I was connected and drove off to the next one, only to realize I hadn't connected twice. That part was a little confusing.

I also got my van stuck in a few spots where I couldn't get out or move. (Which, for a jam game is totally understandable) . But I wish I had a reset van option instead of abandon. I had to restart the whole game when that happened and lose all my towers connected. Which made it more painful. And I just kind of quit the second time that happened.

SILENTIUM by Shram 2026-05-04T03:24:05Z

WHAT. THE. CRAP. :open_mouth: :open_mouth: I don't even understand how this was possible.... hands down The winner of LD59 for me. :raised_hands:

I don't always feel compelled to finish LD games... but this one I was SO immersed right from the start. I wanted to see the end.

It's so freaking good. The immersion, the art, audio, vibe, mood, music, interactions... WOW. It took me a while at the start to figure out how to even start my car. But I kind of liked it. At first I was trying to put gas in, jump start it etc. Before I found the key. But it was a nice way to introduce the world and my car. I loved driving around. The mood and atmosphere was just incredible.

I'm so blown away by what you were able to accomplish. It's just astounding. I enjoyed it immensely from start to finish.

I didn't quite get the end completely, but that ending cutscene was EPIC. :open_mouth:

Also... how many banger audio tracks can you fit in ONE jam??? :scream:   :musical_note:

Overall, I give this 1000/100 She-Kitties. :smiley_cat: :star: :star: :star: :star: :star:

Short-Range Robot by AJISBOSS 2026-05-08T20:27:09Z

This is really cool concept! Took me a few tries to realize I could actually shoot back with my mouse. :grimacing: :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

And before I understood how it worked, I was thinking... these controls are too sluggish for this type of game. :joy:

I love the idea of balancing dodging and trying to stay near the signal... but tbh, a few things sort of took away from the 'fun' of it for me.

I do wish having a good signal meant having really snappy controls, or a shield, or a way to dodge, or a powered up gun or something. Some reason to have a good signal. Having it go from sort of normal-ish controls to no control at all made it get frustrating real fast.

I also felt like the orb or signal source should have small or no collision? Like... I'm supposed to get near it, but can't get closer than a 2M radius around the thing. :grimacing: it felt kind of punishing in that way.

But I do think this could be a cool game loop. Nice job!

My AirPods?! by Vela Pulsar 2026-04-21T13:52:32Z

I didn't quite get the gameplay... just when I thought I got it, I'd lose to finding the wrong airpods? :grimacing: :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: A lot of UI to take in. The art and overall vibe is so great!

Distant Driving by GrayMansion 2026-05-04T02:24:56Z

The physics on this felt so good!!! The bounciness of the suspension especially. I loved the art and the UI was so polished for a jam.

I understood the mechanic pretty quickly... but I didn't quiet understand what to do about it? Like, my car could only go so fast... so I just felt helpless during the offline bits. It's an interesting idea and the coding felt solid and complete. But I didn't feel like I had enough tools as a player to deal with it. Maybe a boost on a cooldown, so I had to time it right? Or getting enough air to collect signal booster items? Idk. Some way to deal with the disconnection part. That was the main thing lacking for me. That combined with the car being pretty slow, there wasn't a lot of choice. I kept thinking I failed. But adding some additional way for the player to deal with the loss of connection and this could be pretty fun.

Scary Chef by Mamadox 2026-04-22T01:27:06Z

I didn't really understand it. :grimacing: The controls felt like they took over at times, and the physics and controls were all over. It took me a while to get I needed to use the arrow keys to fill out the code?

Trying to understand the lava thing and signal theme?

Either way, I thought I was going to play a cooking game by the thumbnail image. :joy_cat:

Brain Rot by fimiq 2026-04-28T02:31:10Z

not sure if it was just me, but when I finally made it outside... the cars were driving backward and crashing all over. Looked like a typical Monday morning.

If the controls were meant to be hard. SUCCESS. :grimacing: :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Made for a challenge for sure. But also made it pretty hard to play. Maybe if it didn't slide? Often times, I would try to stop, then let up, and my character would drift.

I love how the brain seemed annoyed at you for moving at all. LOL.

Laser Beat by Gotlib 2026-04-22T12:07:04Z

WOW!! This is super cool!! Had a lot of fun with this one! Is such a neat idea to not just play with the mirrors, but to try and match the rhythm as well. Felt fun to mess with and not punishing if you messed up.

I felt like it worked better within the browser than full screen (as the buttons got small and far away). And I couldn't figure out what the blue circle button did. But super minor nitpick. :stuck_out_tongue:

Overall, LOVE it!!! Nicely done.

WOW. The mood and sounds and atmosphere on this are SO GOOD. Love the setting and vibe.

I'm not super into hard jumping puzzles, so after missing a lot of jumps on the tiny leaf, I had to bail. Maybe it's my keyboard? But sometimes I thought I hit jump, but walked off the edge instead. And died. But I really didn't want to bail. I wanted to see the end so bad. Everything else about it pulled me in so much.

I loved the digging. I loved the sense of danger and needing to hide before moving on. All of that was so great. Such a neat take on signal.

The way the animations and audio and background all come together, it really set an amazing mood.

i love you, too by tolviere 2026-04-22T12:40:01Z

This is fantastic!!! I liked the forgiveness on the matching, but still accurate enough you had to be pretty 'dialed in'. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: It was fun just turning the knobs. Felt very tactile. I liked the 3 ping thing. You knew when you were getting close, but not close enough.

At first I turned the speed dial manually trying to match. Then realized I could actually just match it closer, and not have to track by hand like that. lol.

The text was hard to read playing in browser. I just guessed at which knob did what at first.

This was really satisfying to play!
