This was awesome. Such a vibe - bringing back the tamagotchi vibes. Sends me back to childhood! Love how this fit so well in with the theme mate, graphics are amazing.

Amazing game! I love that, even though it follows a typical Tamagotchi-style format, the game still feels very original, it breathes new life into this kind of genre! The contrast between 3D and 2D is awesome, and throwing the gadget and mailing the three-heart monster feels so cathartic! The music fits perfectly too, creating a great contrast between the calm soundtrack and the pixelated sounds. The use of contrast overall is phenomenal! Even with the great tutorial art, It took me a little time to understand the mechanics, but once I did, I had a blast! 5 stars in this category! Some minor complaints, It takes a second to understand the monster’s needs, and in a fast-paced game like this, that can be a bit frustrating. Also, the sad and hungry faces look too similar, which can be confusing. Lastly, the mail button is a bit far from the monster buttons, which adds slight frustration. But those are just nitpicks, I absolutely LOVED the game!!

the game is very original and very beautiful. always wanted my own tamagotchi and there are 3 of them here) (maybe more but that's how many I got to)

gaalsien 2024-10-07 21:44

VERY IMPRESSIVE! I love physics of tamagochi flying around, also really nice 3D models and 2D style)

Wow, this is super impressive. I really like how it looks, moves and sounds. The concept was very well implemented especially with the theme given. They look like real virtual pet devices. Managing all the virtual pets is very fast and difficult but also fun. I'm no good at this game but there was a lot polish and talent involved in its creation. Even the little icons in the corner was a great touch. Great work!

Why is no one talking more about this game!?! Let me be the first. This is really cool. I've never seen anyone do a digital version of an analogue game like tomogotchi before. Definitely got a lot of 5's from me. The only thing I didn't give full 5's on are humor and fun, but the latter is just because it's not my personal genre preference and the former is because I don't really think humor was the goal here.

I really think it could be a successful simulator game with some minor difficulty/design tweaks (more time to meet requests, maybe a better way to differentiate which pets need immediate attention), but I really liked this and it definitely blows anything I could make out of the water.

I don't like how I kept losing before I even got my bearings in the level. My high score was 10, but once I got the hang of things I definitely started feeling like there is a rhythm to it. Maybe if you had like hot keys 1-9 to cycle between the pets and the lose condition was like (obviously if one dies in your care, but also) if you already have 10 and you don't send any back before the next one comes in. Not gonna lie, it took me until like the 3rd game to realize you need to send them back out to get points. I really hope this becomes something more. Wishing you guys the best.

Wow! Very cool concept and very high stress managing all of those damn gatchis

sergykoraduba 2024-10-08 08:14

It looks great

The interface is directly on 3D objects. This is black magic. It feels hard. I have not passed the dark souls. I didn't pass your game. I'm not sure that it can be won. I envy, again, the sound effects. Were you able to make the tamagotchi interface as part of the competition or did you take a ready-made logical solution?

5/5 for graphics and theme, I loved them! I had difficulty in controlling Tinygotchis at first, mostly because we also did a Tamagotchi game, but we used a different control scheme.

My only critiques are the music volume was too low and the UI was small in my 4K screen.

vinicius-veronese 2024-10-08 12:25

@sergykoraduba Thanks! And it was all done from scratch, as part of the competition.

dywanix 2024-10-08 14:14

Such a lovely idea! Artstyle and gameplay is great

panicmore 2024-10-08 14:44

You've managed to actually make Tamogotchis fun and engaging! The physics on the handhelds is so satisfying and it really made it feel hectic. In fact everything about them is great! The art, the effects of the screen/LEDs just wow!

I had a few scaling issues in the UI and some of the tamogotchis would fall out of frame even in full screen.

Apart from this game is so much fun and really polished feeling.

zakku 2024-10-08 14:52

You did damn manual ahah amazing, so much detail for a jam game ! So hard to keep them all happy and alive ouch

kirass 2024-10-08 18:09

This game is so cool! I loved it!

gudkova-ds 2024-10-08 19:43

очень прикольная игра, задумка мега супер крутая!! графика просто восторг, всё понравилось!! <3

michaelshollaj 2024-10-08 20:45

Super cute game, and very creative, great job!! :D

scrapmetal 2024-10-08 20:57

WOW!! Looks INCREDIBLE!!! :scream:  The mix of 3D (the detail in that model too... damn :fire: ) with 2D pixel art absolutely blew me away. Gave it such a nice tactile nature too. Felt very immersive. (To the point I was legit annoyed at whoever kept tossing me more Tamagotchi's. )

But... I also completely suck at this apparently. Even when I thought I was catching on (re-reading the cutest manual ever about... 5x)... then trying again and feeling like I was getting better, it would end and I got a whopping high score of 000 every time. :sob:  Even when I felt like I was doing pretty good, and keeping most of them above 1 heart, somehow it would end.

Does it end with a timer? or when one of them reaches no hearts? I'm guessing hearts, but that part was unclear to me. I also must have missed a step, because even when I reached 3 hearts, I still ended up with 000 at the end. :open_mouth: LOL.

I'll definitely be coming back to this one. Even if I suck. haha. Such a killer entry. Nice work!!

codeserk 2024-10-08 21:41

dead tamagotchi simulator :__

I was sad when I was a kid and I killed my (_only one_) tamagotchi... you brought that memory back 100x - thanks!

The game is fun, the models are super nice and design in general is great! good job :)

dianavi 2024-10-08 21:45

wow, it's really cool and very original !

vinicius-veronese 2024-10-09 00:26

@scrapmetal Thanks! When your pringeous gets to 3 hearts, you have to return it (by clicking in the letter icon), and then you will receive a point. If you don't return it, you have to keep caring for them. Once one of them die, it's game over.

monkseal 2024-10-10 02:08

can see myself being obessed by this game, my only note is probably when my tamagochis just flew offscreen. overall well done, gonna bust myself giving as much attentions to my gochis as much as possible. <3

arthur-tang 2024-10-10 06:24

Really awesome art. Lack of tutorial might be a problem but it is such a great project for an 48 hour gamejam.

momotiktik 2024-10-12 23:09

Actually this is going to be one of my most favourite entries for this ludum! I really like both the idea and the execution, I like both art and sound design, and I adore the little critters :D awesome job!

nadia-pixel 2024-10-13 14:01

The art and style are amazing! I absolutely adore that you have 3d+pixel art.

metriko 2024-10-17 20:48

Top notch visuals and audio is on point! It might be cute but this is definitely a very challenging game. The gameplay loop is simple but well designed. I can see a lot of thought went into this.

The only thing I would add would be a some kind of small indication where cursor is pointing at. Sometimes I was pressing mouse button multiple times because I wasn't sure if I aimed properly on the object/button.

This is a well polished and innovative entry that creates exactly the experience it was meant to create.

sasa-2010 2024-10-18 18:24

Great job! Nice visuals and nice idea! Keep making games!

mar-zockmeister 2024-10-23 20:52

Wow, the graphics are really awesome; when I first saw the screenshots I did not think they are actual ingame graphics. Also great take on the theme. The game itself is quite stressful and not really my favorite type of gameplay (I was never a fan of tamagotchis) but still, this is really a cool idea.
