Well done renditions of classic games!

Awesome and heartwarming given the opening!

Hi, do I understand correctly that your father passed away? In that case: I'm sorry for your loss

Three games in one LD entry is impressive, even if an LLM is involved. I used an LLM myself to fix some calculations in my code and ended up wasting several hours resulting in me just giving up and rewriting those functions from scratch. It isn't that simple as people think if large parts of the code base are already developed. Then it is an art to shoehorn LLM-code in there I think 😁

Enough about AI, I think you already knew: the games themselves weren't *that* special. They were just clones from the originals. I had most fun with XONIX, I didn't know that game yet, so it felt new to me. Maybe you could have made alterations to the games you implemented and sell it as "the mandela effect"?

I had fun playing with the computer itself, at one point I found out you can actually use the on-screen keyboard 😄

WOW. 😮 ❤️ 😢

This is one of my favs so far. And has me even more conflicted and confused on AI usage now. 😰 😅 Some that rely too heavily on it can start to feel empty or soulless.

This one has so much heart. That tribute to your Dad at the start brought up similar nostalgia and memories... the boot up sounds and attention to detail is ASTOUNDING. This is one of my favs because of the immersion and emotional impact. I found myself playing tetris with tears in my eyes.

(Side note): That may have been the hardest version of Tetris I have played. :P Without the modern 'ghost' placement of pieces to line things up, or holding a piece, and the straight bars were so rare... made it a lot harder. 😳 😂 But it was so much fun. I can't believe you have a full working version of Tetris on here.

I wish I could have rated it on audio, because the sound of the fan, and attention to detail on the key presses and everything is just perfect. It warped me back in time. And I was smiling and getting choked up at the same time.

Also... 3 games??? Geeeez. LOL. I kind of forgot about Xonix! That really warped me back in time. So cool.

I can't believe all the buttons work too! 👀 I found myself having fun just messing with the computer after. That might be my only note... I was kind of wishing there was just a little of digging into the directories or something... and finding hidden files? Maybe a note from your Dad etc.

But overall, I really really loved this. The immersion is top notch.

I think your Dad is smiling and beaming from this one. ❤️ Fantastic job.

The vibe of the game was great, although I really dislike the heavy use of AI. That AI can make tetris doesn't surprise me. Even small alterations could have added more 'soul' to the little games.

Sorry for your loss, I hope that the memories stay with you.

This one hit me right in the nostalgia! 🥹 I love the idea of bringing back the games you remember playing on your first laptop and turning them into a tribute to your father. It feels heartfelt, and I really appreciate that you shared something so meaningful with us. Your father will live forever inside of you. ❤️ Thank you for sharing this with us! May your daddy rest in peace 🌻

I had flashbacks from the aesthetics and it was an emotional, thoughtful game.. well done on this piece

roitchie 2026-10-26 22:00 ♥ 1

This is a really thoughtful entry. I really enjoyed all three of the games. And as others have said this is filled with a lot of heart and emotions. I only really am opposed to AI assisted entries that are soulless but this one clearly has a lot of thought and love put into it. I am glad your memories can live on and be immortalised in some way. May your father rest in peace.

very old-tech game audio

geckoo1337 2026-10-27 16:18 ♥ 1

Very good entry with a solid interpretation of the theme. It reminds me of my youth too. The games are well executed especially Xonix which is still an amazing little game with a solid gameplay. You made a good entry with good vibes. Nostalgia. reading your message, I guess that it's not always easy in your life. So I wish you all the best. Thank you for this trip in the past for a few minutes. I really appreciated it ++

Very retro, I had never played xonix before so thanks for sharing

coda-highland 2026-10-28 01:14 ♥ 1

Oh, so I had played Xonix before, just under a different name. It's like Jezzball or Qix.

Your comments warm my heart so much.. - bringing a genuinely deep emotion from an `old tech` era (our childhoods in this case) is what makes Ludum Dare so special to me, no matter even the tools that were used! Glad we shared something so profound together... ! 🥹

I will try to answer every single one of you once I get some time! Sending love and best wishes. ♥️

I love the attention to detail. The fan noise and boot animation really bring back that nostalgic feeling. Nice job!
