LD56 — Tiny Creatures

Critter Club by someone 2024-10-09T19:46:09Z

Cool that you made your own engine!

The battle was fun, catching the critters was a but frustrating (especially because you have to focus that you dont accidently press ctrl-w).

The downloaded version doesn't work for me and a friend of mine! [broken.jpg](///raw/38a/3/z/68582.jpg)

Critters and Vermin by mechanicallife 2024-10-09T19:50:14Z

I get a big warning when downloading the game, maybe you can take a look at it? warning.jpg

Zig Zag Bug by Papaver 2024-10-09T19:59:33Z

Frustrating is fun right ;) You got my blood boiling a few times.

It felt polished and quick to play! Nice level design.

Bubble Blast Cleanup by abductedPlatypus 2024-10-09T18:13:57Z

I liked the theme, and love a puzzle game! It might add to the fun if there was a fast forward button (to increase the movement speed).

Chirpy's Adventure by DJTequila 2024-10-11T18:03:59Z

I like a good puzzle, tried to get past this one for a while but no idea what i was doing wrong :/

huh.png

The jump mechanic was satisfying!

Mercenary Exorcist by juju 2024-10-09T17:48:13Z

Was satisfying to shoot! Part in the basement was a bit slow. Game crashed at the stairs. A second enemy type would be cool!

The Sloth Machine by J0ye 2024-10-11T18:58:30Z

Looks cool, everything fits well together. Good _vibe_ :-)

Wished there was a bit more strategy to the gameplay

Bonus points for the name of the game!

Metamorph by Renier 2024-10-16T19:31:53Z

Checkpoints would have been nice, nice thematic mechanics with the metamorphosis options!

Microbial Menace by tetrapteryx 2024-10-09T19:34:20Z

It was nice that new mechanics kept being added. It kept going, not sure if there is an ending?

P.S small bug: the sound keeps on playing when the spray button was pressed the moment in the perfomance review opened :-)

Crab Game 3: Shell on Earth by crispybacon 2024-10-09T18:21:52Z

Love cooking games, love plant versus zombies: Combination was fun and hectic! Some orders were a bit difficult to read.

Coven of Critters by JamieOK 2024-10-16T18:55:51Z

Nice to see a platformer! It was a fun little game. The only thing that took me a while is that it was possible to walk through the chrome wall, because it looked like the walls of the cube with the crab inside which you couldn't walk through.

Tiny Tiny Tribes by James Wilson 2024-10-09T19:20:02Z

I liked the game! The UI looked great, lots of upgrade options. I did have a hard time getting used to the movement.

Grablin Battle Festival by HaaYaargh 2024-10-11T18:39:36Z

Small exploit with the archer to grab it, let it loose to shoot once, then grab it again repeat. Enemies cant do a thing :-)

It looks beautiful, sometimes had a feeling that it was better to just nothing, but maybe I just suck.

Candy Quest by Lautaro Q 2024-10-11T18:23:10Z

stuck.jpg I got stuck when trying to enter the party after collecting everything.

The art and _vibe_ was absolutely amazing, the quests could maybe have been a bit more inspiring (now everything is just collect x)

tiny adventure by RoTob123 2024-10-09T18:35:27Z

It was interesting that you target the enemies indirectly, but it became a bit frustrating aiming the cannons. Pixel art was cool!

MushMush by Leykal 2024-10-16T19:24:53Z

The game instantly shuts down when pressing escape, that is really frustrating, lost all progress :(

Looks amazing, nice little game!

Tiny Dirty Tricks by Pimping 2024-10-11T18:48:56Z

Game looks great and its immersive, the gameplay could've been a bit more engaging, it felt quite repetitive and with no 'goal' I had no incentive to keep going.

Tiny Fate - Lost Ruins by sketchbookbug 2024-10-11T19:06:13Z

Game looks great! Felt like the pickaxe was a bit underused, the gravity ball felt really satisfying though. Controls were a bit awkward, because you need to use the arrow keys and the mouse.

Fishfestation by ProstoCupOfTea 2024-10-09T18:46:31Z

beautiful 2D art, nice that the game had a bit of story! Fun mechanic :)

LD57 — Depths

Captain Peggles: That Man's Chest by Sheepolution 2025-04-13T09:10:19Z

Really original idea! And sorry for the person that has to find my map...

Depth Delver by superpokeunicorn 2025-04-13T09:01:25Z

The controls could have had some care like others said, but I had fun!

Escape From GR0K Tower by paulhocker 2025-04-13T08:01:49Z

A bit more compact of a game would have been nice (100 levels is a bit too much). My friend had quite a few bugs in which did the level did not spawn the required stuff to finish it.

Dirty Little Secrets by winniehell 2025-04-13T08:06:54Z

Nice bit of story and art! Would have been nice to know how expensive everything is. I also felt little incentive to go deeper in the ground.

Pressure of the Depths by slay a stone 2025-04-11T13:24:33Z

@defrag thanks for the feedback! Lotus of ideas were cut indeed, because we ran out of time:

We wanted to add that you needed to connect to more ending for the water puzzle (would give the T and 4 way sections more sense)

We wanted to add 2 more puzzles: Fight a threat in which a large undersea monster would come into view. You would need to throw a harpoen at it too kill.

Second puzzle was calibrating the reactor rods in which you needed to position vertical rode in such a way that it would allow a straight line to pass through.

If only time didnt go so fast!

Somnium by Roitchie 2025-04-23T17:35:34Z

Cool little mind-fuck game, I won but I have no idea what I did correct in the end, I just went through a few doors :D

Low Maintenance by Juutis 2025-04-09T17:47:54Z

Nice variety! Nice that there is quite a bit of story going on, I enjoyed it!

Dyamid by leorean 2025-04-23T17:16:45Z

Super clever game! It did feel like the game ran on quite low fps? That was the only thing I noticed.

Leap of Faith by Kyrios 2025-04-13T07:44:32Z

Nice all the different environments! Looked amazing. 2 suggestions: - It was not always clear what was 'background' and what was 'collidable' - I never really needed the dash move, would have been nice if that was really necessary (beside being faster to the end)

Vs. the Deep by Life_Lich 2025-04-13T08:40:40Z

I always like card games! Felt a bit unsatisfying when you do not get any cards to gain power, wasting a turn. Nice game!

GTFD! by Valentin Roche 2025-04-13T07:52:52Z

Tower defenses are always fun! A bit more feedback when a wave starts would have been nice. Maybe an option to upgrade turrers, but there is only so much time :-)

Going Down Protocol by Ein 2025-04-09T17:10:23Z

I also got a bit motion sick due to the head movement and the head-wiggle. The puzzles were cool, I couldn't figure out the goo chamber unfortunately.

Deep Underground by Thrawn911 2025-04-09T18:01:21Z

The water sounds were really nerve wrecking and loud, it did feel claustrofobic. Would have been nice if there was a bit more gameplay.

Timmy's House by GroseilleDodue 2025-04-09T16:59:48Z

Amazing cutscene! I do think I had a bug, because the monster stopped moving completely. When the monster did move it was quite difficult to out-run it.

Escape The Depths by Jag 2025-04-13T08:49:32Z

I really struggled with the movement, it felt way too jittery. The fact that each level was the same was a bit of a dissapointment. The concept is cool felt satisfying!

Squirrel swirl by rucksack 2025-04-15T17:53:16Z

Cute game! It felt nice to built a small economy. UI could have been a bit better (like telling ingame what towers do, and showing upgrading/building possibilities when you lack the requirements)

TRENCH by toilari 2025-04-09T18:08:14Z

Absolutely amazing graphics, and i chuckled when the guy fell out of the boat ;). Shooting felt a bit awkward at times, would have been nice if the beginning went a bit faster. I want to buy stuff!

Crab Royal by woona 2025-04-15T17:59:57Z

Looked really nice! Shooting felt nice. Movement felt a bit "floaty", causing it to dodge things a bit difficult. The boss looked cool! Only a bit frustrating sometimes that it was hard to see the crab, because it went off-screen (because of its size).

Dancing in the Depths by nrankin13 2025-04-13T08:26:37Z

One thing that was a bit confusing at the start is that I had to film closer for the money to go up, I was really confused that my uploads did nothing (because I was too far away).

Anglerfisch by Arluci 2025-04-09T17:33:14Z

Graphics were cool! Few things I would change: - Not make eat/dash the same button, this was quite annoying - Dash had zero cooldown so you could spam it and move insanely fast - The fish were kinda hard to find, i didn't manage to find 20

Depthscalation by octartis 2025-04-09T17:56:20Z

Would be nice if the objective would me more clear in the game. Maybe some power ups would spice things up a bit!

Flatline by Empyreans 2025-04-15T17:31:07Z

I really wanted to love it, I like difficult puzzles, but the fact that every respawn took multiple seconds was really irritating. Beside that good job on creativity!

The Tomb of Mysteria by Plackett 2025-04-15T17:16:40Z

I like the mechanics like switching the gravity. Puzzles that use mechanics like that are always really creative!

The physics felt a bit rough, sometimes it felt like i was suddenly attached to a magnet or sliding on ice. I also encountered a bug with an invisible wall, I couldn't finish after that: bug.png

Life&Depth by Jacky San 2025-04-09T17:16:31Z

Looks very cool, impressive art! Oxygen did go down really fast, it felt I did not have enough time to reach the oxygen spots. Especially when you needed to 'wait' to go down.

DepthBrain by GARYglhf 2025-04-09T17:23:36Z

The button i needed to press (right-bottom corner) had a really weird clickbox, I had to position my mouse in a very specific spot in order to be able to click it. That made it quite confusing.

Echo Dive by Ricesteam 2025-04-13T07:38:47Z

Played the game after you left a review on ours. Indeed fun how similiar our idea is, but with a completely different execution! Luckily your art skills are much better ;). Nice game!

Blurred Escape by pizzabudet420 2025-04-15T17:44:04Z

Really creative idea of depths! When i started moving i got really nauseated and had to stop.

Flushed away by IDos 2025-04-13T08:53:39Z

The inverted controls really dragged the game down, I couldn't play with it. I also had a big blue box on my screen. Is that a bug?

bug.png

LD58 — Collector

LOOKING FOR THE GOOD STUFF by Ntimi 2025-10-21T19:51:11Z

Like others said a solid entry, everything is on point and looks great! It really feels tense when everything gets dark. Maybe some sort of ability 'ghost fly' to go really fast for a short amount of time to add a bit of strategy and help with the backtracking or to escape those last-second pinches.

Bonkers by mechanicallife 2025-10-12T08:25:36Z

I also really liked the UI design, fun cute little game :)

ASTRO JAMS by jelch 2025-10-12T07:39:52Z

Building up the beat felt satisfying! I do think it was difficult to anticipate a big astroid on the path, maybe a visual cue to incidate an astroid will soon appear would help a lot.

Astrocracy by slay a stone 2025-10-07T04:46:04Z

@Tommeh thanks for the kind words! More complicated tile placement was indeed one of the original ideas (like the park), but unfortunatly time was running out :(

Runesmith by Baturinsky 2025-10-21T19:37:47Z

I like that this is completely different than all the other games. Few pieces of feedback: - I think that it would have helped a lot of if the stats had a little spacing around them, it is really difficult to read right now - While I think having the combat being off screen is a good idea, it felt like I really missed something to have an idea of what is happening, everything feels like one big black box. Maybe some small flavor text log like "The wizard killed an enemy" would already help a lot.

Kudos for managing to create this idea in the short amount of time!

Scalper Beat-Off! by chelC 2025-10-12T08:05:57Z

Cute graphics, The combat felt a bit lackluster, maybe having the cards add something to it would have been cool. Not being able to pass through this spot felt a bit counterintuitive:

stuck.png

Piggybank goes forth by Flying Dog Fish 2025-10-12T08:54:27Z

I do like platformers and it started like a fun game! The camera was really nausiating so I had to stop :(

#1 Card Collector by Jvdwijk 2025-10-12T07:57:43Z

My first pack was 100 gold, that felt like quite a lot. Maybe forcing the first card pack to be cheap would make the introduction to the game a bit less steep.

BirbDex by Fiordarancio 2025-10-21T20:15:11Z

Really original idea! I did manage to call one correctly, which I see as a big win since I’m completely not musical at all :D

Unfortunately, the bird was gone before I could take the picture :(

Maybe a small visual cue to guide you through the first few birds would have helped a lot to get a better feel for it.

BallBoy! by Neandi 2025-10-12T08:31:39Z

These tennis players are quite bad for the amount of balls i need to collect for them :-). Nice take on the theme, throwing the balls in the basket felt satisfying!

Enter the Cardgeon by Placeholders 2025-10-12T08:15:06Z

Creative take on the collector theme! Building the deck and it having an effect on your next rounds is cool. It was a bit too easy, I could just spam the attack on the enemies.

Cat & Swords by MrMastin 2025-10-12T08:46:46Z

Nice little numbers go up game! You could abuse it a bit with an auto clicker :-). Took a bit to find out that I could swap weapons

I Need Paperplanes by Kvn 2025-10-12T07:46:57Z

Fun little game! It did felt a bit solvable as in when you know what to do you can clear the levels quite fast and get ahead of the nurse. Maybe a few checkpoints would have avoided that.

Numismatic by David Sheffield 2025-10-21T20:05:49Z

I like the idea! felt satisfying when you could make a big profit on a coin, few points of feedback:

- The introduction text felt a bit too much with Mr Coinface - Maybe some way to teach us how to find a coin that is valuable, then we learn something while playing :D - The auctions felt a bit weird, beccause at the start you kinda had no chance to win.

Where The Forest Ends by CojocscurtVlad 2025-10-12T09:06:40Z

I got stuck when attacking the rats:

stuck.png

The initial text when starting up the game was really difficult to read (lack of contrast).

Nice little game for a first Jam :)

LD59 — Signal

Plug n Play: Mixed Signals by LandoSystems 2026-04-22T18:24:31Z

It looks beautifully and the sound is great. Funny lore :D . Gameplay wise it felt like I didn't really needed to do anything, I just connnected the 3 middle turrets, watched and won.

Signal Chaser by Wisch 2026-04-26T08:57:31Z

The puzzle itself was fun and satisfying, few points of feedback:

1. The timer felt quite punishing, sometimes when you had to connect 2 points far away it became quite stressful. 2. I would have made the progression of adding new mechanics a bit faster, it became a bit repetitive. 3. I would have liked the signal to turn a different color along the path that you've already connected to make it easier to see if you've made a mistake somewhere where it's not connected yet.

Beside that the graphics and all look great, seeing the entire path at the end is a cool detail! Nice entry.

Signal's Shift by Snowdrama 2026-04-26T09:21:10Z

I liked it! Got to the end. The graphics look great and it was fun to play.

A few points of feedback: 1. The text at the beginning and end went away very fast 2. The jumping took some getting used to, for example here: puzzle.png It felt like the 'logical' jump would be the upper platform, but the character had a lot of vertical velocity, but barely any horizontal.

Fade by feffers 2026-04-26T08:33:25Z

I always envy people that manage to make a puzzle game during a game jam. The premise is cool. A small ingame tutorial would have helped a lot with helping what I am supposed to do.

Bleak Signal by Quoclon 2026-04-22T17:52:02Z

I kinda had no clue what was expected of me, I suddenly 'won' the game without having any clue what I was doing. A little bit of context would have been nice.

Signal City by cax 2026-04-29T17:40:16Z

Absolutely top notch graphics and solid gameplay loop. It was a bit frustrating too see how far apart the towers can be placed.

Maybe a different tower for long range travel, but no coverage would have been nice.

Due to the camera angle it was sometimes a bit finnicky to detach a wire

Charging Station by Boudichon 2026-04-26T09:08:38Z

Great take on the theme, and I love the art.

One point of feedback is that it became a bit difficult to see the more 'extreme' puzzles in which I had practically a flat line. It was quite difficult to see if it matched

Barely Edible by JustCreative 2026-04-26T09:35:37Z

I played the original build, not the post-jam.

Overcooked games are always fun, but it felt a bit too much the same, maybe a bit of a twist would have been nice.

It was quite polished. The most annoying thing was that the order of putting things on the plate mattered.

When multiple people order the same thing you can't see who was first (in order to FIFO)

Art/sound etc all on point!

Radio Tower by dod108 2026-04-22T18:01:14Z

Very cool and creative idea and nice graphics :) . The game became a bit frustrating/chaotic with multiple turrets (would be nice if selecting an other turret would immediatly fire the current input before switching to the other turret).

Defying Fate by Psevdonim 2026-04-22T18:14:27Z

The potential is there, A bit more depth would have been nice. Currently I don't really have any choices to make

I think the background is made with AI? That makes rating graphics a bit weird.
