LD42 — Running out of space

Maroon 2 by juju 2018-08-20T18:01:20Z

@worai I'm glad you enjoyed it. It took a lot of effor to get it just right.

LD43 — Sacrifices must be made

Var'alith by Akuirako 2018-12-05T13:25:34Z

Very cool art style!

Maroon3d by juju 2018-12-05T15:41:59Z

@jisam Sacrifices must be made :P @robin49 thanks for the feedback. it might take some trial and error, but should be very easy once you get the gist of it @evgeniya-zapolnova you have to press space to sacrifice your friends

Kamikaze Kevin by Bit 2018-12-05T13:24:59Z

Awesome idea, wish it was a little longer though

LD45 — Start with nothing

(void) by juju 2020-04-16T11:35:08Z

That awful feeling when one of my favorite game designers, @shelldragon , plays my absolute worst game :(

LD48 — Deeper and deeper

The Pit by ehtd 2021-04-26T16:19:00Z

Very cool! I only wish the weapon was cooler, like a flamethrower or something.

Finding Nemoth by Jajo 2021-04-26T15:49:27Z

Very cool game, loved the lovecraftian undertones!

Jupiter Diving by juju 2021-04-26T01:46:35Z

@msduo13 Thanks! So I started with something else in mind, but then ran into problems and ended up going for this voxely, colorful style. The square screen is part of the original idea. I thought about changing it later on, but then ran into issues with the balancing, so that's that. Thanks for playing, and thanks for the feedback. The depth meter is a nice idea too, I'll look into it later on.

Jupiter Diving by juju 2021-04-26T03:28:22Z

@gd60jace I thought about implementing mobile controls, but it would take too long to make (GMS1 is severely limited in this regard). I think it'd be cool to have tilt controls though!

@thatmanrobin thanks for playing! My record is around 200m, but it took me a while to get there. I'd definitely enjoy something like this as a loading screen game too!

Duskwood by Voidsay 2021-04-26T18:35:49Z

This looks very nice. Got a Nintendo DS kinda aesthetic going on. Wish it was a little more polished, but I really think you could finalize this and make it into a full game in the future.

Deeper & Deeper by Edgar Quex 2021-04-26T15:59:37Z

Very cool game! Digging gets a bit tiresome though when you have to press the same button like five times to break the rock. I think it'd be cooler if you could break rocks with one or two hits.

Mind Hunter by Hotpaw 2021-04-26T01:44:22Z

Cool game! I have no idea what I'm doing, but in regards to style it looks and sounds awesome.

LD56 — Tiny Creatures

Critter Club by someone 2024-10-09T20:39:30Z

Very cool concept, but I found moving around the game and interacting with stuff quite hard. It's a great idea though, you should keep working on it!

Silk & Snare by MartensCedric 2024-10-09T16:28:44Z

Very nice little game! You should keep working on it! Impressive stuff for a jam, IMO.

Your Dreadful Majesty by Shess 2024-10-09T23:37:48Z

Love the art style! Very unique!

Mercenary Exorcist by juju 2024-10-09T02:54:55Z

@kadokta it was, in fact, not working. I've reuploaded it on itch. Hope you enjoy!

Wrath by MadHumster 2024-10-09T23:45:51Z

Interesting use of the theme. Also, always great seeing fellow UE developers working the engine within the time constraints of a jam. Great job!

Who's Behind the Fix? by 1337life 2024-10-09T20:34:55Z

Love how stylish it is! Wish it was longer, though I'm aware of the struggles of making long games in jams. You should definitely keep working on it though.

Incandescent by Ray Himmel 2024-10-09T03:06:00Z

Very cool game!

W.A.S.P. - Warrior And Scout Protocol by Paroxysmal 2024-10-09T23:55:13Z

Outstanding art style! Lots of fun as well. I'll be revisiting this one!

Kinda hard, but very fun! Also, gotta love tardigrades <3

STONEMOTH by bradjste 2024-10-09T16:26:12Z

Very cool game! Kinda like a more relaxed Army Corps of Hell.

Swarmfall Protocol by Lélek Hunor Kadosa 2024-10-09T20:33:29Z

Super cool game! Loved the voice acting, and the enemies remind me of Gauntlet!

Will of the Wisp by Lachlan James 2024-10-09T23:44:37Z

Very beautiful game. I can't quite place it, but it gave me SEGA 32X vibes! Impressive work withing the time constraints of a jam.

Creature Crusher by BlackCat508 2024-10-09T16:29:36Z

Great use of the theme, and lots of fun for such a simple mechanic. Cheers!

Very cool concept!

Exaltation by HellHound 2024-10-09T16:19:07Z

Very impressive for a jam game! I wish it controlled a little better though. It felt kinda floaty, but otherwise, many kudos!

Night at the 8th Warehouse (八号仓库奇妙夜) by hidden61ade 2024-10-09T16:22:11Z

Game looks incredible for a jam title! Really hope you keep working on it!

Very cool execution. Please, keep working on it!

Soul's Descent by maneoliz 2024-10-09T23:41:11Z

LD41 — Combine 2 Incompatible Genres

CardRacer by Smooth 2018-04-24T11:32:06Z

Windows link is 404'd :(

Putt-Putt BOOM! by LandoSystems 2018-04-24T11:30:41Z

This is awesome! Neraly made a hole in one in level 3. Some really tense moments too when trying to aim under fire.

Alida of Arx by jsmars 2018-04-25T12:02:18Z

Whoa, this is some serious work for only 72 hours. The dialogue volume is a bit "everywhere", but considering that it even has voiceovers is just amazing. Just stunning.

Mob Defense by dkdwrek 2018-04-25T00:37:02Z

Love the music! What engine did you use?

Breacard by Mr ChocolateSalmon 2018-04-24T13:06:58Z

I want more.

Hadecken by La mecanique du plastique 2018-04-24T13:00:38Z

Simply amazing. You guys should invest in this game. Make a full version or something.

PORTABOY by Lumpy 2018-04-24T23:51:28Z

This is just amazing. Nice job!

CCC: Cyber City CAB by Yetman 2018-04-24T12:19:45Z

Game: I found it quite fun to play, if a bit too hard on combat and a bit too easy on the whole taxi thing. I guess adding lateral movement would go a long way towards allowing the player to dodge and return fire. The view felt maybe a bit zoomed in, too. Backing the câmera away when the cab speeds up (like in GTA1) would perhaps fix that. Graphics: Parallax forever <3 Audio: I thought it was a bit too moody. Felt like a cab driver in a cataclism or something. Needs more Offspring :P

GuitarPicks by Solnak 2018-04-24T22:46:47Z

Spat water all over my keyboard when one of the hags walked over the puddle and fell. 10/10

Pongun by Yack Sebblen 2018-04-24T23:53:08Z

Can't wait to play this with my girlfriend. Still, super fun with the AI opponent

Guitar Fighter by johnnyjw 2018-04-24T12:09:20Z

Awesome concept, though it could have used some more polish. I found it pretty hard to multitask, though I can't think of a better way to mix up the elements onscreen.

Paddle Pals by Mors 2018-04-24T23:40:52Z

This looks just amazing. It's a bit heavy, though. Still, love the art style and the music!

Paddle Pals by Mors 2018-04-25T00:10:05Z

@CosmicGem Oh, sorry. English isn't my first language. I mean It's kinda slow, as if the PC is struggling to run it. Though it might just be my crappy computer giving up the ghost at this point

Happy Harvest by Ziamor 2018-04-24T14:49:44Z

Awesome art style. The tall dude gave me a legit scare!

Gobbie's bad day by Procrastinaaaa 2018-04-24T13:13:44Z

Just keep going. Game jams are the best place to learn how to scope your project.

Splitscreen Hide N Seek by PackNSlash 2018-04-24T11:23:56Z

Very cool concept in an era when couch gaming is nearly gone.

Cyclevania by Allen Oliver 2018-04-27T03:08:35Z

Awesome work. I just wish it had some parallax on the background, and maybe a life bar. One-hit K.O.s ended up making me give up on the game, though I did reach a key at one point.

Nmbr Krncher by gamebuilder 2018-04-30T11:32:30Z

Nice work! Reminds me of the edutainment software of yore.

Holding Aces: The Card Game Shoot-em-Up! by NerdyTea 2018-04-25T13:29:13Z

Awesome job, dude! Entertainer is always win/win. Making pixel art work in 3D is always a challenge, and you seem to have got it quite well. Also, I love the game loop. Feels like playing something on the NES or the Master System, with the screen scrolling quickly to the next part of the level when you reach the doors (people think of Zelda, but many games did this at the time). I'd put a little more variation in the cards, I guess. Maybe some with wacky effects. As of now, they just seem to be a stand-in for a gun. Other than that, I found it quite fun to play.

Turn the Fight by Andreas Roschal 2018-04-24T13:16:52Z

Dat dithering <3 I like how well balanced this is. Great game!

Driving simulator by Nickc5802 2018-04-24T14:53:18Z

Lack of content is a very popular genre these days. Can't wait for the first DLC.

Star Brawler by SamuelDeboni 2018-04-24T12:35:47Z

Thowing enemies around is always a fun time.

SHIRO NO OJO by ROBOWARRIOR1982 2018-04-25T13:42:22Z

Addicting! My score on Normal is 158982. I guess it plays a lot better on the controller too, since I kept losing track of which key was which on the keyboard. I'll also be taking a look at the source. Lots of stuff to learn here :D

ColorTagSurvive by vimlock 2018-04-25T14:42:46Z

I love the look of the game. Really into those retro or retro-looking camera effects, which you seem to achieve with an ortho camera. Painting in games is always a fun time, too.

Maroon by juju 2018-04-24T12:52:40Z

@La-mecanique-du-plastique Thanks for the feedback! I got both of those bugs during testing. You can get the ship back by getting it offscreen, though it is a pain. As for the ghosts, they were supposed to die when they hit the "puff" effect, but that just doesn't work and I'm not sure why :(

Maroon by juju 2018-04-24T16:49:02Z

@Solnak thanks for the feedback. That was the general idea, though with time I would like to have added more platforming elements, maybe enemies to jump over or something. Also, the ship was not supposed to "walk" on the floor, but I couldn't figure out a way to do that without messing up the jump.

Maroon by juju 2018-04-24T17:43:58Z

@RustyMonky Thanks for the feedback. We actually had music in an earlier version, but it started glitching, so I turned it off. I'll be fixing this (along some other bugs) later today. Feel free to give it another go, then!

Maroon by juju 2018-04-24T22:39:48Z

@Yetman Thanks for the feedback. I just uploaded a new version in which I fixed the infinite death/respawn bug, among other things. Let me know what you think if you feel like playing it again :)

Maroon by juju 2018-04-25T12:22:07Z

Thanks for the feedback, everyone <3 @blobo It was our first time making animations, so that really means a lot!

@nina I patched the game yesterday to make it a little more fair. Bees are easier to go around and shoot in the back, but now you have a better chance even if you die near them. Ghosts can no longer trap you, though. Let me know if you give it another go, please :D

@FredricW Thanks again for the feedback. Those animations were also a pain to implement. The carrot has three states, for instance, and figuring out the perfect timing was a lot of trial and error. Im generally not a fan of anything "flappy" either, but I felt it was necessary to make our platformer side of the game work out. It's a ship that jumps, after all. I just wish I had more time to make platforming levels and enemies with it.

Maroon by juju 2018-04-25T13:21:48Z

@ROBOWARRIOR1982 and @NerdyTea I just uploaded a patch to make it harder to softlock the game. The ship object was already supposed to kill a bee in contact, but I changed it to the smoke, which has a longer animation cycle. It seems to be working now. Thanks for the feedback!

@freso It is indeed quite easy to reach the end by just "flying above the level", like in Super Mario World. However, you won't be scoring any points this way ;~; Getting all the coins can be quite a challenge, since bees tend to provide covering fire for the carrots, and once those reach your x position on the screen, they're gone. Either way, thanks for playing, and I'm glad everyone seems to be liking the game :D

Maroon by juju 2018-04-25T13:44:20Z

@RockhopperGames I'm glad you appreciate it. It's very hard to make something look pretty in just 72h. Our artists, @Vittusteckel and Pietro slept very little in those days to pull it off.

Maroon by juju 2018-04-25T18:07:27Z

I'm glad you enjoyed it, @Toge :D The backgrounds were finished in the nick of time, and it shows, but we wanted to keep it because it feels nice when the screen moves. Thanks for the feedback!

Maroon by juju 2018-04-28T22:22:42Z

@paulhocker and @HPMNK thank you for your feedback! I'm glad you enjoyed the game :)

@Kristian David Thanks for the feedback! The ship was made slower on the ground because it was making the game too easy, and also there were supposed to be some more uses for the player on foot (think of switches, etc), so the idea was to make the ship non-optimal for ground movement. The very first release had it "sliding" over ground, and it looked really bad :P Otherwise, I'm glad you enjoyed the game.

@Yetman Thanks for giving it another shot :D

Cities: Platforms by lucasbra1 2018-04-24T11:18:14Z

Fun game to play, though I stopped playing twice due to the jump just glitching and sending me offscreen. The music is great!
