LD47 — Stuck in a loop

Dopamine Drip by cireneikual222464 2020-10-05T21:40:56Z

Cool idea - I think this could be an interesting route to go down for a bigger game with more involved interactions. As it stands though, it's pretty easy to win by just grabbing your own flag and then letting your teammate do all the work while the red team just go around aimlessly - they don't seem to learn to chase after you if you have your own flag. As a tech demo it's pretty cool, but it's not the most fun game to play

Waves Industrial by Wolfier 2020-10-05T20:18:32Z

Good bones to the game - there are many parts of this game that are well executed (like the way the minerals get pushed around by the conveyor belts, and placing different parts). The built-in tutorial was good to point out the controls, but I think it would have been improved if there was more direction given to it - for example, I wasn't sure what the different objects in the left pane did, and I couldn't get them to work properly - if these were given names or a basic demo was shown on screen (maybe a small working set up that the user could see?) that would have made it easier to figure out what to do. I ended up getting a bit confused and ended with a score of zero but I enjoyed it while I was playing. I also really liked the rain effect :)

WhileTrue by ArthurDDev 2020-10-05T19:58:57Z

I liked this! Cool idea, nicely executed. The graphics could do with a bit of a polish, and maybe a few more levels (I was getting into it when it ended). Good level progression, but it might be good to have a bit more instruction given to the user - I didn't realise that the instructions were going to loop until they started looping. Overall good game, I would play an expanded and more polished version of it :)

Cheese! Over and Over Again. by Brian Welsh 2020-10-06T01:00:07Z

Overall a good little game - maybe next time you could add more variety with the bad guys?

Mechanic in a Loop by Dogmann 2020-10-05T22:33:32Z

I really liked it! The concept is really abstract and I liked how the levels paired up with the story (like when the character 'goes insane' the level is very downhill and difficult and far apart, and then when they get better it's a lot more straightforward and flat). I was a bit confused at the start, and fell off the first platform a few times - I didn't realise that you had to jump/double jump with space, and I wasn't sure where to go. I think if you work on it a bit more it would be good to include ways to let the player know what to do. It might also be good to pair up the narrative to the game play a bit more to make each stronger. I liked the gameplay of jumping around, the level design was a good level of difficulty, and each level took me a few tries before I could complete it. For a first completed game I think this was really good!

LD49 — Unstable

Lost Vault by zimennik 2021-10-05T11:50:15Z

Really cool idea, and the graphics are great. Very stressful to play! When multiple alarms came in at once it was tough juggling everything, which was fun.

I had trouble deciphering the morse code panel (I thought I had the right answer but it kept coming up wrong, but I think that's probably my fault haha). Good game, nice entry!

Unstable Hospital by LittleDaimon 2021-10-05T10:25:29Z

I really liked the theme here! Reminds me of old Theme Hospital games, but spooky

I think the tower-defense-hospital idea is great, and I think this could be refined into a proper game. Right now though I think the gameplay loop is a bit confusing - it's hard to tell what patient requires what aura (maybe some sort of icon above their head would be useful?) and it's quite hard to tell where they're going to move, so it's very fiddly to play, especially with more than one patient. Good idea overall, just needs some refining :)

Funstable by emk4 2021-10-05T09:38:57Z

Really nice graphics style, and the music fits well too. I liked the world that you've built for the game

Improvement-wise, I think it would be good if the build mechanics were more explained-in game - I ended up softlocking myself by building a ladder, then getting stuck at the top trying to get a chicken from the church.

Island Merchant by Bruno Molteni 2021-10-05T12:20:16Z

Nice concept! I found it quite hard to pick up crates, maybe next time the controls could be via the mouse rather than the keyboard? Overall a fun game, well done :)

Overpowered by njs 2021-10-06T11:50:13Z

Great game, I had a wonderful time

Babysitting Simulator by LeXian 2021-10-05T09:53:56Z

The art style is really nice! And I really liked the idea

I think it would be good if there was more info about how to play - for example it took me a while to figure out you could restore health by going to the karaoke, and it also took me a while to figure out how to interact with the baby or how to defeat monsters. I also kept getting game-overs and I didn't know why. Overall cool idea and a nice looking game :)

LD50 — Delay the inevitable

The Beast Within by cad 2022-04-05T20:34:54Z

Fun game, and very on theme, and looks really nice! really good submission

I played it through a few times, and I think I've now cheesed the game because I'm on day 16 and I've found a way to survive indefinitely (by putting the lego bricks in middle-floor doorway and then running up to the attic - he tip toes so slowly round the door frame that most of the night is gone before he eventually gets through) - not so inevitable any more!

Brian Is Burning by zappablamma 2022-04-07T10:10:01Z

@jakubbala Thanks! Sorry about the RSI - just a heads up that you can hold space to heal rather than just tapping it!

Robots attack! by Lichead studio 2022-04-05T19:10:37Z

For people who came to the comment section to figure out how to play/what is going on - I think I eventually worked it out:

- Hold Space to move (towards you cursor) - Left click on an object to pick it up when you are close - Right click to put it down - There are automatic guns and rocket launchers and torches that you can position around the room - Bad guys come out from the red lights at the side of the room - The grey cogs should be put in the shute

To the creator - this is a cool game, but you really need to convey what you're meant to do/how to do it! It took me a good while to figure out how to do anything, and I nearly just rage quit after dying 5 times in a row not knowing how to do anything, or what I was meant to do.

Once I eventually figured it out: it's pretty cool! I liked the light mechanic where most things are dark, and the fact there are hidden guns in the dark that you can use. Pretty neat game idea and genuinely had a lot of fun playing it

(edit: looks like you can also buy more guns/resources using the switches in exchange for 5 cogs)

LD56 — Tiny Creatures

Tiny meat boys by Byzilio 2024-10-12T17:50:59Z

Cool game!!! Fun mechanic and interesting puzzles

Duck Rescue Patrol by rkhadder 2024-10-08T16:28:16Z

Cool idea! I would have loved some more levels - but it sounds like you ran out of time to make them, which is a shame. Overall a good idea that could definitely be expanded on with more time!

Tiny Balance by SolidHinken 2024-10-08T21:38:20Z

Really silly game, it made me laugh! Very charming. I liked how their job was to serve hotdogs, and how cartoony everything was.

Gameplay wise, it got a little too easy once I it figured - I was making more money than the rent, and the levels weren't getting harder, so it got a bit repetitive - but if the difficulty ramped up after a few days it would be really good. Well done!!

Tiny Creature Breeder by Ausstein 2024-10-12T18:37:06Z

Really fun little idle game. I got down to 298nanometers, with 1 billion coins. Pretty easy to learn gameplay loop, but the upgrades and making the games money increase exponentially like that made it feel really well designed. Good job!

Tiny Space Quest by betovf 2024-10-12T17:55:30Z

Nice idea, I found it very difficult though!

Tardi In SPACE by zappablamma 2024-10-14T15:07:55Z

@bjornstenlund Thank you for the detailed feedback and the mockup! You're dead on about giving the player more information, that would have been a really good addition to the game and would have made it more readable. If I was making this game again, I would definitely add that

Tiny Elevator by webDrag0n 2024-10-12T17:34:55Z

Really good game - I liked the collage graphic style and the gameplay (especially when you get onto the two-elevator levels) was interesting and fun. In the first couple of levels I was thinking "is this is? It's a bit slow" but then by the end I had maxed out both elevators and it was going really fast, and it was really fun. Great job!

Noah's Rabbit Chase by Jesse Martin 2024-10-08T16:50:42Z

I found it quite hard to figure out what to do! I couldn't find where the rabbit was for a long time (I was beginning to think the game was bugged and there wasn't a rabbit!) but when I did, I got my brothers together to trap him, but he snuck past me and I couldn't find him again :( Nice idea, but more guidance to the player would have been helpful (maybe with the rabbit leaving footprints or something?)

Nanobot Tactics by zSharpFire 2024-10-08T17:19:16Z

Cool idea! Like a couple of other people said the physics were a little bit funky at points, but that's often the case with LD games so it's not a big deal. I sometimes forgot what different bots did, but I got there in the end. Good puzzles - not too complicated, not too simple, and they made good use of the different bot types. Really nice game - I ended up completing it!

(PS - Just a heads up that .rar files aren't the best choice for zipping! It means that the game can't run in the official itch.io desktop application, and it means that players have to have Winrar installed. Better to stick to just .zip files - much more accessible!)

Wish Town by Iwant_Pizza 2024-10-09T20:37:49Z

Very spooky!! I liked the ambience of it. The motion blur and other post processing effects made it run quite slowly on the web build, but that's not that bad. Overall good atmosphere and nice puzzles

One day by BOHNE 2024-10-12T17:04:18Z

I liked it. Very moody and weird. Good job!
