This was one moody looking game, it has a unique eerie atmosphere that works to it's advantage, with the light adding to the mood. The protag was a bit goofy looking, clashing with the style, and I noticed them shifting sizes quite often, the jump anim was noticeably smaller than the normal sprite. That said, it's clear that a lot was added to the project, and I ended up spending a little longer than expected. I only got to the 2nd map, but there's a good reason for it...

There are a couple of bits of criticism that must be made, because they did stand out to me: Sound is incredibly important, and for audio, there was a massive lack of sound effects. An absence of sound can make a project, sound and art are key for setting a mood, and the art was let down by total silence; even a subtle jump sound and some ambience could have helped massively. The music that turned up during the creature encounters was the only thing your ears get. Now for the other issue... I softlocked myself! I pushed a block, fell, died and found myself in a situation where I couldn't jump out of a pit...! My journey ended on the second map, a little after the chase. I then paused and... couldn't escape the pause screen. Yeah.

I hope other people try out your project though, it clearly had a good amount of effort put into it.

The bugs that you have mentioned is now fixed and we are now busy adding a more detailed SFX system that should be able to warn you about the approaching animals, such version is coming very very soon. For now, welcome experience the latest version that should be able to let you play the whole process!!

I was definitely hooked on the cover of the game! The atmosphere is creepy, the graphics are good. Before meeting the ant, there was no musical accompaniment, which confused me. I would like more sound effects. It's probably a matter of taste, but I would like the flashlight to have a larger area of illumination. Overall, a good game. I wish you success!

The game graphics and style is so cool! I'm not a big fan of scary themed games, but this game really did a great job on developing the scary side of tiny creatures.

The graphics are simply mesmerizing, and the mysterious atmosphere keeps you on the edge of your seat from the very beginning. 🌕 Although it would be great to add more sounds at the beginning to enhance the effect, the encounter with the creatures is done at the highest level! 😱 I really liked how you played with fear through the little creatures - it really works! 👏 Great job, team! 🚀

Good vibes! The metrics could use some fine-tuning, but I really like your idea for the entry. I got stuck in an out-of-bounds area and wasn't sure what to do next. When I jumped, my character suddenly shrank and it almost felt like some hidden mechanic I could use, like jumping into a vent or something haha. Congrats on finishing the entry, and good luck at LGU lol

Your team did an amazing job! The atmosphere is great, and thank goodness for the auto-save feature—I died so many times, and it’s such a relief not having to start from the beginning. After reading the comments, I started the game and was a bit confused at first by the lack of sound, but after passing the first switch door, the BGM kicked in. I'm not sure if this was intentional, I personally think it might be better for players to hear the bgm at the first moment, so that they can build up tension in an instant. The music is excellent!

看看自己连最基础的碰撞盒都不会拉,视觉传达都不懂,关卡设计更不用说的情况下,到底该不该浮于表面去急着讲什么深邃黑暗爱与残酷的世界的中二病故事,还平台跳跃,你知不知道平台跳跃+讲故事还要讲这种故事是多高阶的开发难度?

I won't rate this game but, This game is pure garbage and I've seen way too many of these, before rushing making a fancy huge-story-telling game, please at least, learn a bit of basic design stuff please, or any game making skill that comes useful, because as i can tell, this is purely packed with nonsence baby yellings and no grown-up skills at all. And is based on beginner-level nonsense platformers? Play some freaking Mario before jumpping into wells that you have no idea how deep it goes for just being cool, it's NOT cool.

关于游戏本身,碰撞箱方面的问题,视觉传达方面的不足,关卡设计的缺陷,我们也是十分清楚这个情况,在自己测试的过程也有抱怨。 可是: 1、我们的六人小组中只有三个人有不足一年的Unity经验,甚至有着游戏设计经验的也只有两人(包括我本人)。我们的美工第一次接触与游戏相关的视觉传达,我们的关卡设计更是第一次“干这件事”。 2、This is LD, a game jam, and our group is consisted of 4 rookies in basically EVERTHING. Two of us in this group who are more experienced(though only more experienced for 1 year) will have to also shoulder the task to teach them. 3、If this can't remind you of your days as a rookie developer to have some basic mercy, and even keeps you rushing towards us and scold more hash words, man, what can I say? 4、Wish you all the best for your COMPO game in this LD!!And welcome you to witness the growth of our" bunch of rookies that can't even make a freaking mario game!":)

@hidden61ade 我前年的现在还没下载过游戏引擎,也没做过几个游戏,没有在任何比赛里拿过任何瞩目的成绩或者成绩,我只关心游戏和游戏开发,以及对游戏开发技术和各种知识未知领域的最基本的尊重。

You should never underestimate Mario series, they are extremly well designed textbook on platformer the genre itself. Do play some marios please... Me personally has no hard feeling on any of you guys, just, plz learn and make better games, and focus more on basic things, dont bite crazy story telling that you barely swallows a bit of,and try hard to make games that plays for itself.

@wo-ri-gou-le Surely I see your emphasize and the importance of Mario to you from your perspective, and indeed that my Mario experience of merely Maker2 and Odyssey(Something I tried so hard to gather all the power moons but failed halfway due to my broken NS),and the latter I have to use help mode for those power moons is indeed too shallow that our game is in no way close to any Mario game.

And Yes, we will definitely make better games in the future and use some more advanced game techs. We will also make a game that does not have much plot and try to focus on some more innovated gameplay--something we haven't yet dive into too much. Wish we make progress together!!

Nice atmosphere, graphics and cover is creative, although not all keybindings are intuitive. Gameplay is fun even though it's a platformer game, the darkness helps to create ambient theme such as in little nightmares game - I like it!

The atmosphere and light mechanic made for a neat experience. The controls were frustrating though. If my character was touching a wall they either couldn't jump or would only jump a small amount. If my character hit a wall while jumping, they would stop going up. This made for a very painful experience while running from the cat.

A very classic game with a very interesting atmosphere. You had me hooked when the music started x)

The way the control works make me think you used the builtin physics. It does not serve well arcade-like games, frictions is something you should avoid (except for the one your feet provoke - this one is classic enough to be added) If you plan to do this kind of game again... you will need something more **primitive** as physic x)

Very solid atmosphere, but quite hard to control character so I died a lot. Also I know it's a lot to ask from a jam game, sorry :), but it would be better to gradually introduce controls over a bit of time than to dump them at the same time in the beginning.

@wo-ri-gou-le Thank you for your advice on visual transmission! It was my first time to take part in game design and draw something for a game. I had no idea with the art of visual transmission before you mentioned the concept. It made me reflect on my creating process and I realized that the art part was too disconnected from other parts (Maybe it is because I am not very familiar with Unity, with how to do map editing in it and with how to control characters in the level of programming....) Next time I will learn more and design art from the perspective of the entire game!

操作手感比较差,而且容易粘墙,卡角,地刺边缘判定不清晰。 但是其余方面很优秀,氛围营造,追逐战等。但是提一个意见,操作手感不好的追逐战真的是折磨(。 下落时侯那个作为体前屈的动画很容易卡墙

@rico-click 确实确实,操作手感方面四个程序都被拷打个遍啦🥵最新版本的操作手感大改是修改摩擦力并且把两侧墙壁的检测关掉,已经体感上相对之前有比较大的改善。感谢友组反馈!回去我们再想想办法!大家看到这里也可以去玩玩他们的游戏!

哇,上面那哥们儿真心够暴躁的,我以为LD只是一个凑几个朋友像摇曳露营一样聚集起来开开心心做个游戏然后和全世界的同行(也许更单纯只是同好)一起玩的一个像派对一样的活动。开发水平的高低也许可以成为给分的客观依据,怎么还成了攻击别人的说辞,甚至还用英文评论一段更让人难绷的话。说实话,大部分时候我在LD上只见过非常友好和正向的讨论氛围,发出这种评论实在是难评其内心阴暗的程度,话里话外还显示出自己的某种优越感,连对未知领域的最基本的尊重都来了,看得让人汗流浃背。啥未知领域啊,您上过班做过正经商业项目吗,项目月流水或者steam销量多少啊?别人做个gamejam,爱侧重叙事还是侧重你神圣的平台跳跃关卡设计关你啥事啊,能在做个pong都能夸夸的LD说出别人作品是纯粹garbage这种评论的,你也是个神人了

First of all, I personally have reservations about discussing ideology or expressing opinions in a relatively relaxed and enjoyable activity like game jam (of course, games are also literary works and are naturally ideological, which may be why that dude was so angry), but trying to tell a story in a game jam is definitely something worthy of praise. In particular, you have created a great atmosphere and tension through lighting and art design. The audio part may have improved at present, but it is indeed lacking as the first comment said. Similarly, the operating feel is indeed a bit lacking, but these are not big problems for a jam game.

Super cool! The overall mood (light and audio greatly contribuing) is excellent and is this game's greatest asset. Two minor suggestions: 1) maybe polish the death screen a bit more, 2) I'm not a huge fan of the precision platforming elements, I feel like they don't combine really well with the horror genre (you can have platforming, but when having to do very precise jumps, I prefer to be able to see all my environment).

A great entry!
