Interesting concept. Graphics are nice and the game is mysterious. The idea of controling the interface that control the player make the game more active than it may appeir and I found it entertaining.
I found one of the four triangle because of luck (A weird flying object) and kill some red things.
Sound effects are nice at the beginning but after ten minutes, they gave me a little headache. : /
This is fun and pretty. The control is nice and the whole idea is innovative. I like it. : o
It is nicely done. Graphics are cool. I will try to not forget to come back after mechanisms had been added.
Full five. Nice gameplay, nice graphics, good idea. Difficulty is ok, not too hard, not too easy.
Just have to try 8-9 times. That's cool because you can feel that you can do it.
o/
It is a pretty cool work. I like it.
Pretty cool. It was nice, the graphics are okay and the music is funny.
I've encountered a wall surrounded door one time (And "lost") xD Maybe a little random generating mess. Not a big deal.
Good work.
Fantastic concept ! : o Nice graphics and cool controls. I found your game pretty awesome ! \o/
Amazing. This is beautiful.
I am astonished.
Nice concept. You should explore it. It may be a cool and pretty original video game.
Pretty nice game. It is fun, the control is hard but not too much. The theme is cool, the score look fair. Good job. I have bump everywhere now x)
=> I've fixed the link for Windows. = o
Super game = )
Graphics are nice, music is cool. Sound effects are ok.
The puzzle concept is great. The best is certainly the level design.
Win ! Cool snowman. x)
Nice realisation. Some know should be turned a little more (Some letters shot really fast)
That is cool-Too hard, but cool.
The music is good, the graphics are okay, the concept is nice.
I would prefer it with checkpoints, but if some people want it without, defining a difficulty is certainly possible.
Good job. o/
This is a funny little game and the work is pretty accurate. Graphics are nice, and little hidden objects made me smile. x)
Windows version ! = )
Yes, the vectrex and all vector games were my inspiration. Tempest made me discovered a whole family of game and I wished to create a new one.
I have composed the music. Just, I did not found that is was enough to ask for a vote on sound. Some friends tell me it was a mistake, so you can now vote for sound too.
Thank you for feedback. = D
That's pretty. The sound is cool and the work is nicely done. I do not know if I have understood well the game itself, I have just won two games and I've never been under attack.
(Just read the description and saw that I was normal)
I'm an AZERTY user, and I find this entry offen... lol no, just a little disapointing, but that's okay (we are too few).
Good idea the books (and the multiple "weapons"/effects) ! And great work for making the game playable for 2 or more !
Good work, but difficult to understand where to go.
The graphisms are nice, but the ambiance is a bit strange...
The hairdryer and the outlet are a good idea, but I couldn't understand how to make the red things "die" or being repulsed.
Very good work !
Pixels are probably too fat, but that's okay for the resolution.
Good idea for the poiting action (but hard to discover without the commentary)
Quick story, but good one !
Nice work for the story, too bad there is no music (or I can't play it ?!).
Remind me some old game from the 90's.
The egg attack is funny... the "TV" you hold... uuuh... strange... but why not ! xD
The game is too simple I think, but it's a funny one.
Tu as eu tes dix notes. C'est très bien.
Cool. = ) The player animation is quite pretty.
Nice game.
C'est très sympa et plutôt bien réalisé.
Encore quelques votes, et tu auras ton point Hack a Rush.
Very cute graphisms ! (but not enough animated)
It's a bit difficult (can't pass the blue octopus and the fish), and a lifebar would have been very useful !
Hello
I can't figure out how to start your game.
The linux package is only a binary, and if I tried to download all assets and to compose the game directory, I failed at launching the game; Same thing with the windows version with wine.
It say "No data folder". Of course, I tried to create one. The Windows version complain about a data file which seems to be an executable one.
Can you help me ? xD
Ooh, that's gloomy. The graphics are nice. The concept is original. I did not found a way to survive long yet. x)
Very nice game = ) This is pretty original. The worm splitting was unexpected and awesome. xD
Le rendu est super = D L'animation, le graphisme, la musique aussi. C'est expéditif, et on rentre direct dans la partie. J'ai un peu de mal avec le scrolling (c'est l'age), mais c'est cool = )
It is cool = D
Great concept, great program. This is a wonderful game. = )
Nicely done = ) I like it. Good mod, nice control.
That was pretty cool = )
Amazing. = )
Really nice concept, and well done.
Well. It is nice, we can play, there is challenge, there is space to explore and enemies. Graphics are the minimum, but they are enough to enjoy the game.
Let bullets going throught stairs would make it a little more easier.
I do not know if it is normal, but I was hit by a monster one time and almost all my live went away. So, the second time, I was dead.
It reminds me "Toto" on the Atari ST. In this old game, you had to go left, right repeatidly, and then press to scratch and then throw a potato to the kitchen. (Without breaking the joystick, if possible)
It is nicely done. The concept is tiny, but well made: graphics are nice, smooth and cute. The tutorial text is funny. The music fits.
It takes a little time before realizing the flipping does not flip the gravity for the box... :p After that time, well, it is easier.
The concept is nice. You can certainly stretch it to a bigger game. The graphics are simple, but enough to play.
With a music that developped, having better graphics would really increase the game mood. The character itself is nice, but the environment deserve more.
It is a nice game, a good work.
That's nice. The game is smooth and dynamic. Bats are absolutely awful :p
The graphics are great, and the music is at least as good.
Some colors and instruments remind me the Atari ST and the YM2149.
It must be nicer with another player.
The animation is pretty cool. It seems quite promising. It is too bad that we cannot go far.
I hope you have learnt a lot of things during this LD and that you will make a wonderful game next time.
Well. It is funny to discover how your machine works. A goal would certainly be nice, but, I do not really figure out how to include it inside the concept. But well, there is certainly a way.
I guess it was fun to program, though.
It is really cool. It could certainly work well as mobile game. : o The concept is nice and it is well done. Good job.
Your game is beautiful. Your graphics are advanced and the music is well done too. The UI fits the game.
The game itself seems pretty cool too. I did not manage to go far (and finaly burn every program and files), but that's my problem. :p
It was nice. The graphics are authentic. There is some challenge. Good work.
Nice. I like the graphics. The game itself is well done.
The control is smooth and pleasant.
Nice entry. = ) It is pretty simple but your graphics are fun and mechanics are here. Good work for a first LD, even more as a team of teenagers.
It is really funny that this kind of game appeir here.
It is nicely done. Good job.
It is nice. The graphics are cool, the objective is clear, we can play, there is challenge... The sound effects are convincing.
It is nice that some actions actually have an impact on light, it makes it a real part of the game, and not only pure graphics.
The movement on the grid is a little annoying. I think you can keep your grid if you change a little the way your character walk. If it can me smoother, it will be more pleasant.
It is nice to see hand made graphics, even if characters are colorless. The concept can be cool. Having to reload and collect different items can be really interesting.
Nevertheless, I found the level does not allow this characteristic to be exploited well: we cannot really miss something, because it is straight, and I do not know if it is possible to dodge a shot, I do not succeed to. Most of time, we have to jump to reach the platform where the enemy is, so the shot is direct to the heart.
If it was possible, I think having to reaload can be more important, because the way you dodge will open or not a window to do it (or not, if you fail, because it will take more time and you will get shot while reloading)
I can't figure out where the collision is made between the sword and enenemies. It seems easier to fight when I was looking on the right... ôo
It is nice that you manage to add different weapons and way to fight.
Nice graphics and gameplay. Having a marge map, items to found and to buy make the game longer. That is a nice thing to create this mood of adventure.
Good job.
Graphics are nice. It is pretty. The music is cool too. The shot sound effect is a little cheesy in comparison.
The mechanics appeirs a little to slow for me. It seems the character is still in space.
The concept is good. The graphics are simple, but bringing raytraced shadows make it great. The first three puzzles are good, I do not know for the others.
There is no music ingame. But I can see files in your music directory, and they are pretty good.
I do not know if my machine is the reason, but your game is very very slow. On SDL1.2, alpha treatment can be intensive, but with that resolution, even with raytraced shadows, it should not be that slow. On SDL2, if you are on GPU, it should be really fast.
Do you have programed a real time loop?
I would love to end your game, but with that speed... : /
The music works now. I have end your game. The final puzzle was okay too. Good job. I like your game.
Having an invincible nemesis like Anubis is pretty stressful, I think it was really a good idea to put this in the game. Even if he is not really dangerous if you pay attention, it creates a wonderful mood.
Hey, it is a really nice idea. = ) The concept is cool and well done. We had fun playing your game.
Graphics are cool. The sound is okay, adding music would be nice. The falling is a little too slow, but well... We always take time to think about our next move, so it is not really important.
It was fun. I found graphics originals, they are not a simple drawing, they are not tile, they are made for this game with depth and all.
Puzzle were good. The last one is the best one.
It lacks a little contrast sometimes. And sound.
The text is nice too.
It a simple puzzle game with a pleasant mood. The notes are a good idea, it quickly creates a sort of plot.
I think it would be better if the character movement was smooth instead of tile to tile. It makes it feel a little primitive, but in 3D, that is strange. Tile to tile movement can be used but they fits better in a retro-looking game.
@TerraCottaFrog
Thank you. ^^
Yes, in the jam version, the game exit when the character dies or wins.
I miss a little time to fix this. It is fixed now.
You are absolutely right about the full screen. It is now fixed too.^
@Junber
It is now shorter, and easier to read because there is more text on screen thanks
to a smaller font. The issue with the pit is fixed too.
Thank you for your feedback. = )
@Narkhos
I played a very old game on the Atari 2600 where you are an helicopter and
where buildings are made of stacked square.
Since this day, I wish to make a little engine that works this way. The
technique was so primitive but funny and efficient, in some ways...
Thank you =D
@TeamBALD
Thank you for your feedback. :-]
Yes, the view was a little wrong because the point of view was not
exactly on the character (Because the hot spot of tiles was not in the
middle but on top left... as usual)
It is still strange because the character does not have any
depth, so it seems to go under the pillars when you are really close,
but it will need too much improvement to fix this problem now.
There was a call to exit when the character dies or wins, thats why the
game seems to crash. It is fixed now.
@ianb96
I tried to add more color to the only enemy to make it easier to see.
It is not bright, but maybe it is better still.
Thank you. =°)
@Wicked7000
Thank you =o)
@yotam180
You are right. Now, it returns to menu after three death.
Exiting the program was a fast way to implement death, but not a good one.
Thank you ^_^
@Alphish
Yeah, the view is not perfect. The technic used is quite simple and
I have not managed to found a way to make it perfect yet. Maybe it
is not possible and I will have to change to fix all, I do not know right now.
I have added a heart, and three lives. And... yeah, allanuminium :p
Thank you for your feedback =D
@Culturebosh_games
I have added some messages to tell the player he will have to shoot.
Thank you a lot ;)
@Venneque
Thank you =J I am happy that it creates so much effects.
I think it will be easier now. You have now three lives and four hearts.
@AODQ
Thank you for your feedback. = )
It was certainly because you died, the handler was exit. x)
@duskpn
I would love to.
Thank you for your feedback. ;D
@LittleDoomDevs
It would be a good idea to shoot diagonally but I do not know how to make it
without using the mouse. Currently, the shoot command in instant: keydown, and then
it goes. I would have to program a delay to see if another key is pressed down, and
I do not know how it will feel. : /
The other solution would to have a single button to shoot and having to move where
you wish to shoot instead of having a Binding of Isaac control.
Thank you for your feedback. X°)
@darthbox1
I think you will like it more now, with more lives and not a return to windows
when you die! :) Thank you #)
@Casevse
Thank you :+)
@komilll
Well, it is only a parralax but it appeirs quite cool.
Yes, it is quite classic. I have decided to make a Zelda like game
with a Binding of Isaac control. Sometimes, you want to try
something new, sometimes, you wish to recreate something that
you love.
I think I can, later, make this game different not only by its graphics
but by its story or its level design... If I go one.
Thank you ;+]
@ramoncb
Now boxes give two hearts if you have only one left (and if you are lucky).
It also give more often lights, and it restore faster light than being hurt remove it.
I do not think anyone notices (because it is told nowhere) but the character
blast destroy turrets blast, so dodging is not the only way.
I would love to make a bigger game after the jam. I will try the greenlight,
if the main concept please, I will make it.
Thank you for your feedback. =D
@BloodJohn We will try. Maybe increasing a little the resolution to have more detailed graphics would be nice (Or maybe it will just reveal how primitive the 3D is xD)
@leondryaso Thank you = )
@kfischer_okarin Thank you = )
Now, it is time to insert the story that also fit the atmosphere x)
@Jelinib
Thank you = )
I will try to fix it. >< Sorry for that.
- - - - - - - -
Nice work for a first game jam. The game is playable, there is challenge. About the graphics, they are ok.
Adding light was a good idea, it creates a little mood. I think adding music would really increase that mood. Even simple noise or echo effects on your sound would be enough.
It is pretty good. Graphics are nice, the music fits its retro look (Well, it seems even more retro. More like Atari VCS music) The game itself is nice, there is challenge, you have to pay attention and adopt some kind of little strategy.
I like it.
It appeirs that there is a link between the program life and the character life. It frozes when he die.
It may a good idea to make a platform game "on ice" like your game. It could be really good. In a way, Sonic made it, but it was not as fast as it could be today.
It is nice to make something playable for a first game. Congratulation.
And the music was cool. ;)
The concept is awesome and the game is really well done.
I've plenty of fun playing Pant + Birds, and I think I will share it one with some of my friends.
That's nice. Having the shooter and the character separated seems to offer many possibilites, it is a good idea.
It is a pretty game of life. Puzzle difficulty seems cool. At the beginning, this is relatively automatic, but sometimes, it takes a little time.
Well, that was fun to make these soldiers explode with the final weapon. I would love to have music and sound effects, I think it would increase the hit effect when you shoot. (Maybe have 10-15 differents screams :p)
Nice work.
It is funny how different the game itself and artworks are. The game is quite happy (even with sawblades), and the graphics are a little horrorific.
The control is special too. The basic jump make platforming easy, but the wall jump is hard to manage.
The text is quite cool, especially items description.
The game crashed on the "The End ?" screen. It seems that you tried to read something that was not set.
Wonderful concept. I love the mood of your game. The game over screen is suprising and really funny.
I like a lot this kind of graphics, and I like your soundtrack.
The game itself is a little hard the first two minutes, but I managed to find a way to attack that was efficient, so it isn't so hard. Of course, you have to pay attention because one little mistake, if you are in a dead end, can end your game, even if you are full of heart.
It works. The graphics are nice, even if the UI can certainly be upgraded. It miss a goal... and maybe sound effects or music.
There are errors when I try to unpack your file. : /
The music is nice. The graphics are simple, but it does not bother me. The text create a pleasant mood.
The game itself is not very exciting, it is a maze, but considering you made it quickly and that it is your first jam, it is cool.
Hey, this is certainly would be a great game to play multiplayer. At the very beginning, it is a little "where am i supposed to go", but after a one or two minutes, you get it, and then, it is ok. This concept is nice, it made simply but efficiently. Good job.
Well, that was quick.
I cannot judge anything, it is not finished. Can you tell me more about what was your concept?
That was nice. This is well done: The graphics are cool, the control is good. It miss some music (even a very simple beat would be fine). I see some csv and tmx files in your asset folder, some additional levels could be nice too.
It works fine, it is complete, good job.
Nice. I like the way you introduce the game. A short introduction and here we go. It miss some music (and maybe some effects). It is harder than we thought to avoid being catched.
This is pretty cool. It is simple but we can play it and there is a challenge. The graphic environment is well done.
Having an objective could improve the game. An objective and new obstacles coming while the energy level goes up.
Pretty game. It is simple but esthetic. These old keyboard sounds make me feel like if I was typing super quickly. x)
It is fun how the music slow down, it sound a little gloomy. The game is pretty simple, but you managed to make it full. There is several levels, an objective, a challenge. Good work.
This kind of game stress me so much xD This was really nicely done. I liked the music and the "full package" appeirence: the harmony between menus and game.
I have sent it to a friend which love DDR, maybe he will manage to go throught it... I had to quit at level 4 because I was super tense, shamefuly. xD
It made me thought about Operation Jupiter on Atari ST for no other reason than the one-mission game concept with several phase. x')
You had a great idea. This was pleasant to play Sabotage. The graphics are nice and the music is good. The character is slow, but considering the game, I don't think it is a big deal. It would be frustrating if the ship was bigger, but like this it is ok.
GG/Good game ! :)
Gaphically cute... easy to use... As others stated, there is nothing more to say : the game is cool ! It could have been a game and watch.
@random-storykeeper
Thank you for your feedback. I agree with all your points, I am working on another postjam version that fix those. : )
Funny idea to make the dog piss on batteries. x) Pretty simple, but complete. Well done.
Very well done. It is quite polished.
Graphics are nice, sound effects are cool. Even if the initial concept is simple, it is achieved neately.
One or two additionnal kind of creatures (maybe with patterns?) would be great, even if the bear stamina is of course already challenging.
This is a really cool idea. The concept is pretty original and I would have love to play it more! :p Your turret have shot me so hard that I feel sad now :p Falling into this pit on level 2 and then die, that's tought xD I don't know if it fits well with the control. Having one and run, or jump over it, ok, but the pit and the turret fits more a classic platform game like Megaman than your mechanics.
Anyway, that was great. The graphics are cool, the voice is nice and the music create a cool mod thanks to all those sound effects. Well done!
I liked it. It is smooth, the objective is clear and there is a nice challenge. The introduction is simple but cool.
I think the difficulty does not increase fast enough. There is a little time I was wondering how long will I be playing.
That was very cool = ) It is pleasant to play and pretty. The boss was nice. I wish there was an other level.
That was great. It made me feel like playing my Atari ST, with all those sounds, thoses colors. x) I think I am gonna share it with my friends. The initial concept is pure simple arcade, but you have pushed it far! There is plenty of things in your entry, this is pretty complete.
Well done!
That was fun. I admit I have found the control quite difficult too. Graphics are nice. I like games with light & shadows.
The greatest game I've played on this jam. I'll certainly play again today, and I'm already making some publicity :p I don't know how big your game is behind, but it feels wide and complete. The atmosphere is great, the music is good, the way you tell the story makes me want to go on and try again.
Maybe this way of telling stories should revive a full video game genre, bringing computer novels strongly and detach them from only being the point'n click ancester.
I'm gonna spent some time translating it to french so my friends could play it - as your engine is fully json based \o/ a great thing ;)
Edit: nakiwarai.json is pretty different from other files. Its seems to be from another story. x')
Edit2: example.json contains a lot of events and the description of gauges and seems to be rewritten by force at each game startup, it prevents me to do a full translation. What can I do?
Nice mood and pretty game. I like the direct gameplay. I would have love to have more levels xD Even pretty simple one, some that allow to enjoy a little longer that speed feeling. = )
It was fun. The recoil is a great idea, and the fact that the soul does not only approach you but follow precisly your path is a subtle difference that change quite a lot of thing. : o Great game.
Well. 126 seconds. Got to buy stronger glue next time. It was funny to switch abruptly from puzzle game to something more arcade like, especially with those sound effects.
☭ ! It is a nice and well done game. I've sent this page to some comrades from the french party :p I think they're gonna laugh.
Mechanics are simple to understand but tuned to be pretty smooth and nice. The game seems quite fair to me at least in the balanced version.
You need a chiptune version of the Internationale. x)
Which build @team-on ? The zip file containing the windows build was not reachable...
Thank you @incobalt. Actually, the problem was in the used protocol. My domain does not support httpS.
Yeah, I won : p Well, it was not easy, but it's quite fair.
The character's inertia makes it feel heavy - a thing I find a little annoying - but well, I assume that's part of your design choice.
I don't know about the music... It is nice to have some, but I hardly associate it with the game and it is a little too short, making it repetitive.
Graphics are simple, but that's ok. The game itself is the strongest point in your work - which is good.
Well. It was quite original and funny. It may be a simple game but it is very well done and complete.
I won :p That was nice. Cool lighting. It creates an interesting mood combined with your music.
Very well done. The retro feeeling is relatively authentic, mainly because of your music - I like it. The third boss felt invicible the first 2 minutes, but it was ok after some bashing. The first monster is indeed the hardest as it forces us to move, to jump, that can be weird if we compare with the last one... But well, it is a jam game, the beginning of most game is almost always better than the end :p Good job
Your game is pretty. Textures and general style appeals me quite much. The tile based movement remind me Dungeon Master - in quicker because I don't have to play with my mouse :p - It is nice to have set a level generator.
Maybe adding a map would be nice (with progressive discovery, of course). In Dungeon master, the obvious exploration objective makes its absence quite nice: you have to draw a map by yourself, which is fully part of the game. Your game is a little more action oriented so... it may be better.
I miss music and sounds - Even some synth pads or some very simple chords (with an arpegiator (https://youtu.be/wsdoVewGD7Y?t=111 - https://arpeggiator.desandro.com/) for example! : o Of course, footsteps or sounds of spooky approaching with positioned sounds would be great, but music alone would already be a great addition.
Congratulation. Good work.
I admit I felt a little annoyed by tiles and by the need to press E to pick up what's on the floor. Graphics are pretty nice for a game jam game. It is cool you find a way to stretch its length with that skill tree. It makes feel we may progress, see how far goes the map, and discover more of your universe.
The mood is pretty good. I liked the graphics and the music... But the control makes it hard. If you're accustomed to more "classic controls" (ie Megaman X, for example) it makes your game feel like a rythm game where you have to precisly hit each keys. Read in the comment section you can simply keep up pressed make it simpler, but still... I would love to play again your game with a few modifications about that part, because the atmosphere was great. Your intro and your graphics makes it feel like it's gonna be a great ludum dare entry - which it could easily be.
C'est un jeu très chouette, M.Fromage qui... :p
C'était rigolo de voir s'ajouter les obstacles sur le chemin.
Well, it simple. I won't lie, I'm not a huge fan, but it is a little poetic.
At least it is not a ransomware :p
I have not participated this time so I can't note you, but still, here is my comment... I have tested it after having built it in MSYS2 on Windows. I have sent you the build so you can give it to people on Windows.
I am very happy you managed to go throught the game jam entirely and have delivered a full playable game for your first game jam - and with your own 3D engine! The control felt a little wacky at start until I realized it allows me to jump from almost any point of the map to another... and then, it felt great. My high score is currently 23, after 2/3 games.
May I suggest to add a screen shot and why not a youtube video? = ) I would gladly add that video after to my playlist "Made with LibLapin".
Your concept is a pretty nice finding. It would certainly deserve you to go on with it on a more polished version (not that this version is rushed or something like that, we're doing a game jam and this is neat in this context) There can be a lot of levels and additional concepts. It is fun and relaxing - while being hard enough to not be boring. Good job.
I'm gonna share it.
I think it does not work well on my computer. The action button makes my character teleporting from a side of the spot to the other side before coming back and starting again so fast it is hard to go anywhere x')
Well, I have reached the end "Mario Warp Zone style", using the behaviour the game has on my computer. I'll rate graphics and theme - cause I have not really seen other side of the game as you should have certainly designed it.
I'm using Chrome on Ubuntu Mate, on a Thinkpad T laptop - I know nothing about my screen. Maybe it is a delta time problem.
It is simple but I liked the humor inside it. It is fast and can be challenging. I admit I would have prefer to loose when I fall. x)
@marra Here it is = ) Two versions are now available, one as the game was monday evening (the "midnight version") and an "early pot jam" (because we plan to more soon :p)
@brainles-etertainment Thank you xD But not anymore.The windows version is now available, thanks to MSYS2.
Yes, we agree x) @eerongal.
The game was more at the beginning supposed to be a puzzle game (the game physics and the clunckiness of the character are - more or less - designed to be this way) but went too far on the platform side with the original level design. The new level is closer to what we were looking for at the beginning.
@mackain Thank you = )
About LibLapin It is a library I've designed years ago to teach at the same time graphics and audio programming while strengthening mastery of C programming. I've added so many tools inside (that my students can't use - because they got to reprogram everything by themselve before bulding stuff like 3D engines from pixel arrays :-p.) that it became the library I use for my 'commercial' games.
You can switch the language of the website by clicking on a flag at the bottom right of https://liblapin.org :p https://github.com/Damdoshi/LibLapin But to be honest, this website was not designed to be really a complet course - my school, "L'EFRITS" was designed to do that x) (..And it is not fully up to date, the kind of thing that happen when you're alone :') )
LibLapin main strength, in the context of a game jam, I think remains in the ability to load configuration files instead of directly loading resources like PNG files, giving the ability to remove a lot of code from C or C++ and simplify greatly regular objects like sprite manipulation. It can load a bunch of different formats but mostly rely on my own format 'Dabsic'. It can be pretty verbose thought.
@picttarge It is an regular ELF file we named game.exe to avoid having to change its name while compiling on Windows.
@ellearx You may have an alert for security - because those are ZIP files going throught a regular HTTP communication. Your browser needs a confirmation before going on. Try clicking right on it to open your contextual menu and save it throught that way.
@triggthediscovery Thank you! Did you also spot fire and water cellular automaton? :p
@pietmichal We have hosted the early post jam version on another domain.
@nazariglez Thank you :)
nfs.efrits.fr server's fixed. Links are working again.
Very nice and versatile concept. Cute graphics and music. I like your game. I think this is my favorite in this jam so far. As other people said, "more levels". x)
There's so many items that could be used to extend your concept that I really wish you will go on after the jam.
It is a very nicely done simple concept. I like it. I wonder how you could extend the concept.
It is fun. The creature is cute and the mechanics are righteous. I'll share it with my teams, it is a nice game to play.
Nice and complete. Easy enough to be done, with still got some challenge. Graphics are nice and funny.
I would allow arrow keys, mainly because using WASD + E is not very comfortable, and I think you could avoid using the mouse. x)
Nice contribution.
First game was quite short but the second one got me halfway. Patient cured 149 killed on third game.
I like the concept of having to manage a ship. Mechanics here are simple but efficient - and more important - they give ideas, they are inspiring.
Graphics are nice - but maybe a little too small x')
Very good graphics and nice atmosphere. The game itself is pretty simple but well served with all the work your provided on its realisation. Adding elements of contexts is a nice idea to thicken the universe but I admit I would have traded some to an additional game mechanic.
Good work.
Graphics are nice. Concept is simple but can generate rich situations. The atmosphere, wells served by the audio is strong and lovely.
It lags a lot and it does not seem right, there not so many particules. When I was with ~100 creatures, I reach around a single frame per second.
At the beginning, I was a little surprised by the way we control the bee but after a few minutes, I was fluently moving it where I wanted to move it. If a few minutes only are required to learn to play your game, then, *it is ok*.
I don't think I'm the kind of player that is really targeted by your game, because of its initial repetitive requirement *but...* even I, can appreciation several aspects of yoru work. By adding that really strong arcade like movement with the neccessity to collect and then to command in a single game, to fight enemies that are numerous and moving freely... you made something I find more ambitious and audacious than most other games.
Indeed, it may be less graphicaly or musicaly (sfxaly :p) polished than others but most games that are very polished are also often very simple, even sometimes, primitive. Your game have nice aspects: the way bees come in and out of the hive is very cool. The magnet you've programmed make fluent the action of going in and out and *yes, at the very beginning, for a minute or two, it was disturbing* but after this ridiculous time of practice it was not a problem at all.
I admit I have quite quickly switch to the debug version to see what your game was offering after the first step and I'm glad you are proposing it. I'm also glad you thought about bringing a mute button for the music. Your sound effects are nice, but the music you chose is quite... I would say invasive, even if I understand why you have chosen it.
Red arrows are a nice addition that really, helps. I would have like - actually, I thought it would be possible - to enter into other bees hives to attack them. I was surprised to see them enter in my own, and it was a pleasant surprise - even if, yeah, it made me lose the game.
To conclude on a specific point, I don't think you need to restrict your game to a more "comfortable and easy" control. I think you should instead search new radical and unusual features to add to the one you already have. Keep things fast.
It is interesting and well done.
A little bug usage have helped me solve a case : p (We can click on bottom right buttons even on the conclusion page)
A very classic game with a very interesting atmosphere. You had me hooked when the music started x)
The way the control works make me think you used the builtin physics. It does not serve well arcade-like games, frictions is something you should avoid (except for the one your feet provoke - this one is classic enough to be added) If you plan to do this kind of game again... you will need something more **primitive** as physic x)
Nice contribution.
I can't say I'm able to enjoy it but that's mostly for an interface reason: I'm not a native english speaker it is hard for me to perfectly understand you. I'm able to get most of your speech but I've missed one explanation and was not able to solve the puzzle. I have tried again, paying attention specificaly to the part I missed - but you get my point I think. You should consider adding text to ease our understanding. I will glady retry your game later.
Nice. I was wondering which game to play and was certainly expecting something with ants and stuff to hit... and then I've remembered your comment on our game and came.
I was not expecting to chill, and then it happened. Your game is pretty, I would say, comfy too. I liked the music but also the objective: it is something gentle and soft. I wouldn't have thought I would appreciate a game like that years ago, but things have changed and I'm more enclined to play things to feel - in physical term - good. It is a little like a small window from which you can see holydays.
Well made. x) A beautiful test of patience.
What a strong atmosphere. I have started by playing a cute game and a few screens later and an underground passage, I was vibrating like when I played Burnhouse Lane the first time. Your music and sound effects are very efficient. Your graphics are nice too, they're pretty and your character design is interesting.
I have shared your page. I may play again later. Good work!
Nice experience. I can't really consider it a game in the classic sense, but it was pleasant and sometimes, that's enough. Music and sounds effects, as the chosen graphic style enhance the ASMR atmosphere.
Well. It still says "Bomberman" in the bottom right corner and that's the kind of game nobody on earth does not know.
I just have a single question: Why not try to add something original? There is so many stuff that could be added that would make a Bomberman game a specific and worth new game. Try to customize it to make it your own.
@6knowledge @guardianmad @yuxin @huihang It was not finished on time. Ticrum is still working on it but alone as I can't really go on with him.
@flying-dog-fish We don't ask you to compile it. It is simply not available. But if you don't even want to download it, then you will never play it. Nevertheless, as long as you don't rate it without playing it... that's allright...
This is a good idea. It is fun to play. Sounds and music, as the whole presentation make it complete. Good job.
I think I will keep it on my desktop and show it to some friends. That may motivate them to participate to some next jams.
