The movement on the bee is mildly nauseating and making sure to get back into your base is a bit weird feeling. I think the idea behind it is really good. I like the idea of gathering resources and feeding your bees and getting more and more of them, then warring against the enemy hive. I think if the gameplay were cleaned up there's a lot of real excitement in the theme and the "bee-building".
Interesting game, I feel it has some potential given some polish. I wasn't able to really control my bees or influence them aside from one accidental moment. It felt a bit unintuitive, but maybe I just suck!
Nice interpretation of the theme, I think beehives work quite well.

The game has potential, but at the moment there are a lot of controversial points, maybe you overreacted a little.
@mabirus Thanks, I didn't mean for it to sound this way. I've rephrased it a bit. This section was meant only to be optional so folks knew the intended mechanics, because in a game jam you can't always tell if you've encountered a bug or are just missing something. Some things are intuitive only to the creator.

was a good entry . enjoyed the concept
I love the transition out of the hive to the bigger world. Thought that was really clever :)

Cool game, but the controls are confusing, it's hard to get back into the beehive

Fun idea, I love the butt wiggling concept. Controls feel a bit off, especially I think the forward movement is too fast, too far. Also, the game was overall quite hard for me.

At the beginning, I was a little surprised by the way we control the bee but after a few minutes, I was fluently moving it where I wanted to move it. If a few minutes only are required to learn to play your game, then, *it is ok*.
I don't think I'm the kind of player that is really targeted by your game, because of its initial repetitive requirement *but...* even I, can appreciation several aspects of yoru work. By adding that really strong arcade like movement with the neccessity to collect and then to command in a single game, to fight enemies that are numerous and moving freely... you made something I find more ambitious and audacious than most other games.
Indeed, it may be less graphicaly or musicaly (sfxaly :p) polished than others but most games that are very polished are also often very simple, even sometimes, primitive. Your game have nice aspects: the way bees come in and out of the hive is very cool. The magnet you've programmed make fluent the action of going in and out and *yes, at the very beginning, for a minute or two, it was disturbing* but after this ridiculous time of practice it was not a problem at all.
I admit I have quite quickly switch to the debug version to see what your game was offering after the first step and I'm glad you are proposing it. I'm also glad you thought about bringing a mute button for the music. Your sound effects are nice, but the music you chose is quite... I would say invasive, even if I understand why you have chosen it.
Red arrows are a nice addition that really, helps. I would have like - actually, I thought it would be possible - to enter into other bees hives to attack them. I was surprised to see them enter in my own, and it was a pleasant surprise - even if, yeah, it made me lose the game.
To conclude on a specific point, I don't think you need to restrict your game to a more "comfortable and easy" control. I think you should instead search new radical and unusual features to add to the one you already have. Keep things fast.
A very cool concept with the bee dance to show the way to others, but it wasn’t intuitive to do. I tried playing twice and tried to quickly build a bee army. In the end, the red ones came to my hive and ate everyone, and I didn’t even understand what I was doing wrong. The bees themselves were quite funny.
I had a lot of trouble actually getting ramped up with my forces when playing, they just didn't last.

The entry/re-entry feels really awesome, I have not seen anything like that in a 2D game. Also the dancing feature is cool, too bad I was not fast enough to keep up the production;
I also tried second time with cheats to understand how the bees control works (angle, distance) and it was totally worth it!
Here is my first attempt:

How do you tell your bees to stop chasing enemies and help you feed the larvae? Nice job anyway! it really transfer a sense of urgency and chaos

It feels like there's potential here. I like the idea of the bee dance and it's cool that there's some real world science in the game. But in practice, it wasn't clear that the dancing I did had any actual effect on the game. Nice use of "Flight of the Bumblebee" as the background music. It gets a little repetitive after a while, so thanks for the mute option!

Ambitious game. Controls weren't smooth enough to make me want to figure it out. Flight of the Bumblebee is getting you humor points not audio points.

This was a really cool game. It's unlike any other game I've played, but it still was easy to get into (using your guide). The work you've put into building and balancing the different systems shows, and I enjoyed commanding my bees.
I found the gameplay interesting, there are many nice ideas here. Waggling to send the bees in different direction fit very well thematically, and I liked having to scout the direction and distance beforehand. The actual task of doing the dance was a bit tricky for me though, it was hard to get the parameters right while simultaneously tapping left/right. I think having a separate "dance mode" toggle would have made it easier for be, but I understand that it would not have fit the bee theme as well.
Another small feedback is that it would have been nice to have an easier level to start with, before being thrown into the big map with lots of enemies. Just to let the player learn how to play.
Anyway, great game! It was fun and novel, and it had a nice level of strategic thinking.
