My OCD instantly kicked in and tried to fit the rooms together in such a way the there is no deadspace, I enjoyed trying to build a small colony of robots(?)

I opened the game, I saw the title screen, rolled around on the floor for a good minute or two from laughter, started playing the game, got quite a bit far, died, proceeded to wheeze even more, tried again, had fun, it was great! Then I was writting this comment when I realized something, tested it and laughted even more, this game is the epitome of humor! Now some things I noticed: -the title music doesn't loop and just abruptly stops... -that's about it actually, very fun game!
The sound effects are funny, the leaderboard is a nice touch, the game is simple, it fits the theme fine, overall a nice and pleasant game to play!
simple and fun game, wish it would restart from the level you were on instead of the beginning, otherwise it's a nice game!
This is a pretty fun game! you are trying to keep your little bacteria alive while the red bacteria just casually overtakes the entire petri dish! Still got a score of 13K what could be a fun addition is good mutations, like green buddies that hunt the red baddies, maybe upgrades to increase the range of repellant and disinfectant, so much you can do with the game, but I really liked the jam version a lot! I have not tried the post jam version yet, might give it a go too and see what happens :D
The game is super easy and addicting to play, I only begun understanding the rules and how they work together to fill a board, The puzzle generation is a bit slow however as I see the game chug trying to generate a puzzle, the sound effects are nice, wish it had a calm music to accompany the game, but without music it also works just fine, there was also a crash after the tutorial, unsure if it was fixed or not, bot overall a lovely little game I will play when my brain needs a restart
now I'm a logic oriented person, but I have not a clue what half of the nodes do, the other half I barely know what they do, but hey I passed level 1 with great results so yay!
This was a pretty funny game! it has a vibe similar to games I played before, made in gamemaker, the mechanics are simple and it's a fun little game, with some additions it will be perfect!
PS: I feel you on the Unity thing, I'm in the same boat as I started learning godot a month before the jam and felt like might as well try, I never used 3D godot before the jam and just winged it, gamemaker is a fun alternative, I also do recommend godot as it is similar to Unity, really hoping these smaller engines become true competition for Unity now...
Fun game! The camera is a bit wonky at times but otherwise a fun little game, it would be a very cool large scale game if it ever happens, also that twist ending was deep ngl...
in 6 hours, you made a water cup puzzle, 5 levels for it, sounds, and made it looks nice too, as a logic game enthusiast I enjoyed this little game, well done :D
This game is stress, I love it, early game is just mindless pumping tho, late game is the question "should I push my luck or no?"
the accurate recreation of my thought process: "okay sokuban, so we push boxes... I don't really get the force field part yet... Ah I see 6 moves that's the limitation... *makes 6 moves* what was that sound? ah well seems like I can keep going *makes 6 more moves* OH THE RED BARS ARE THE FORE FIELD! Clever!" Very clever implementation of a classic sokuban game!
The game is pretty fun the mechanics are clean, the graphics are nice, I enjoyed it, a little too many buttons for me crammed into a small space but that's a me issue because I can't 2-hand keyboards very well but either way I really liked it!
A fun little game, graphically it looks pleasant, it's fun to play, good job!
The sound design sells this game far too well, it really has that: "yeah I make random noises because I'm immersed in a tabletop game" the grephics are very nice, the game has a very well thought out mechanic, and just going full throttle off a rap into the abyss is so incredibly hilarious! Well done!
addeum 1: the menu lore is hilarious too
addeum 2: I want the expansions >:(
Fun concept, great execution, great level design, simple, very much in theme, this is a straight perfect score from me! Well done!
This game was fun, had to think a little bit about how to position all the shapes and objects but I had a plan to make sure all will fit, and all did fit, off to my new apartment I go B)
the classic mode is fun! Glitch mode is just cruelty and it's hilarious XD well done!
A silly, but charming text rpg game, one that I also managed to win, I liked it!
This is a very fun game, easily expandable, the art is awesome, it has a sweet spot for me because I vouch for a moonbase being a thing, the music is nice, sound design is great, overall a very fun game, unfortunately on the web version it has a huge lagspike issue, but otherwise a fun game, would be fun to see it expand a bit too :D
This was extremely humorous, very fun to play, tho the timer did spike my cortison levels a bit, dialogue was charming and the ending was hilarious overall a very nice game!
This is a very fun and humorous game, I enjoy, well done!
For a 2048 clone it's pretty good, tho harder to read because no large numbers, but it looks more pleasant to have proper sprites of increasing trash volume! Also I see you started using Godot too! I'm pretty new to the engine myself but I can say that it's simple and fun to use so you will get the hang of it quickly, but for a first project this is awesome!
The game looks nice, the music is fine, sadly the music doesn't loop or anything, controls are a bit janky, and I was majorly confused on merging slimes and the diagram, it's a nice game to build on but it really needs some extra work sadly
What if we grabbed the charm of FTL, turned it into an auto-battler, and create a fun game in 48 hours? The results? this beautifully executed game, seriously it has the charm of FTL which is a nice game, the auto-battler is fun genre for this space battle game, I did find 1 bug and a few things to improve upon: firstly I managed to start a round while holding a ship and it appeared as a ghost during battle, secondly it would be cool if we could re-arrange the ships after combat, also would be nice if we can select the side to expand, and lastly (tho this is a nitpick and can be ignored) I want ship chunks flying when something is defeated, kinda like in FTL, overall a nice game :D
Interesting take on tetris, I got to 20k points with no idea what I'm actually doing, the hitboxes for the hammer is a bit finnicky, I managed to bug my cursor into a hammer once, and sometimes the game paused with the hammer sometimes it didn't (idk I wasn't paying full attention), it was hectic but overall an interesting game! good job!
This was awesome, I loved the feels, the lore, the gameplay, it was a perfect game to play, I have no complaints here just: well done! I also appreciate the extra secrets in the game you can collect and the unique ways movement can be chained together!
The mood is perfect, the design is perfect, it's just perfectly frustrating, the last level is where the humor peaked and my previous disappointment just faded (I really wanted to break the windows yes), overall a perfect game I really liked it, awesome job congrats!
For a first game this is very nice! With a bit of polish it can easily pass as a fun little game!
image_2023-10-06_152016961.png We did a little tomfoolery and managed to duplicate our players by opening the game in a new tab, but we had 3 of us testing: me, K, and E, I like this game and multiplayer is hilarious, I actually invited K for a quick test, E came along and broke it with the duplicating players, I will mark their opinions here too: K: It goofy, E: *legends say they are still trying to break the game* They are also sending their regards, they are a bit upset because the player is 1 pixel misaligned with the bg
I got genuine chills playing this game, at first I was confused and scared, but then I followed my inner light and found the way out of the maze of fears and confusion... this game is poetic, atmospheric, and genuinely very cool... 5/5 this was a very touching and deep experience...
now this game screams modern retro game and I love it, it genuinely reminds me of a C64 game or some other ancient pc game, it's simple, fun, and genuinely a nice little game!
there is a rhythm to this game and once you catch onto the rhythm you can easily assess how long you can stay in the water before the shark will kill you, finding this rhythm was very satisfying to me, well done!
@diadem-games Yeah I forgot to explain that the bars are bound to 1,2,3, made sure to say it on the itch.io page :/ but basically they are 3 basic bars all depleting with no relation to anything besidesthe more modules you have on the more defense and less damage you do, if I ever update the project I will make the mechanic better
@seam00se Thank you! I tried my hardest to make something presentable, had to cut a lot of stuff sadly! As for the issues: -I will fix the menu if I update the project into a proper game for our "company" -Yeah forgot the crosshair will add it in the full version -Might be a nav mesh issue... fixed that quickly, if it still crashes then I will have to change up the bullet code up... got ideas but stupid ideas :/
@passbykamenrider Thank you! I made everything myself in blender, and used some settings in GODOT! as for issues and questions: -they are bound to 1,2,3 I added the keybinds to the tutorial now -Will make sure to telegraph enemy attacks better when I do make a full version for the game with my "company"
@nozomu57 this is why you always test builds... I fixed the issue, now it should only crash 30% of the time, as for source code: idk how to export it from godot so I dropped the project files as a zip, easy to import into godot to check code... (it was written in GDScript so only useful for GODOT anyways I think :/) however I did add it to the itch page as source code :D
@woona Thank you! and yeah I really needed a few more hours... worst of all my game refuses to crash so no clue why it continues crashing... but the absolute worst part was when I wasted a few hours fixing enemy AI to reduce lag while the incredibly large amount of objects in the rooms caused the lag... but thank you, I will hopefully eventually fix the game up with my team and make it actually playable :D
@rubatotree Hey there! you are the second person to report this and I genuinely got no clue why it does that, you can bring the game to life by using the DebugStart.bat which loads the game usinf openGL, ofc for some odd reason it is more prone to crashing but atleast the game becomes playable :/ I plan to rewrite the entire game to make it work better in the future after LD is over... sorry for the inconvenience... ran out of time to fix bugs (also can't reproduce the bugs)
@silkworm-sweatshop Thank you! Yeah I realized that the difficulty spike is extremely large, congrats on beating the game tho! The feeling of crampedness is natural it was my second way of making the game a "limited space" first being the modules system, also yeah I should've added a hit sound for the robots, I will be sure to make that happen when I rewrite the entire game :D
@op-orange either an optical illusion or it actually does that, why thank you I made the music myself in beepbox, after you commented (forgot to reply whoops) I wanted to make a 3rd music for later, it's not complete sadly because I lost the groove to make it sounds good :T
@archeroffaith Thank you! Yeah the game has a huge difficulty spike, and if I had to guess the hit detection is buggy, when I update it I will rewrite the entire hit detection algorithm (and game itself) :D
@brokenbridge Thank you! I messed around with the environment to make it sort of like a dark creepy horror game, also yep I need to fix the hit detection and combat, and the bars are getting quite a rework, already brainstorming on the reworked gameloop with the bars, and fair to say it will hopefully be more engaging
@noya Thank you! I plan to add more indicators and refine the bar systems in a full game build, also appreciated that you like the music I made them all myself in beepbox, and already cooking 1 more track for a boss for the full build! ALSO YOU ARE A GODSENT FOR SENDING THE CRASHLOG NOW I HAVE AN IDEA WHY THINGS ARE CRASHING! THANK YOU SO MUCH!
@mozokevgen The color markers rn refer to what type of damage they deal to you, but later (and you caught onto my post-jam schemes) they will actually have weaknesses based on colors! like green ones will be more resilient to blue and red attacks but will be weaker to green attacks! for now that is just their damage types, but already started on some post-jame upgrades :D
@lcstark Thank you! I mostly just followed intuition and whatever online resource I could find to glue together code to make everything work as intended, I already started working on the post-jam version that probably fixes the crashing issues (maybe), adds more responsive combat, and now has the enemy projectiles being more clear added to the list, unfortunately it introduced a whole new can of issues that I need to remedy before I can release it properly... (it became incredibly laggy when I added the proper collision checks for the barrels, I have ideas to remedy this, along with easier way to make maps so I can expand to more than 1 map/floor easily)
@gilborn Thank you! I already begun working on most of the issues you mentioned and I feel like soon I can release a post-jam version to make the game more playable, tons of fixes including enemy bullet visibility, also rebalancing the levels a bit and maybe some new things too :eyes:
@henk Thank you! yeah the enemy AI rn is basically: "OMG GET TO THE PLAYER'S POSITION ASAP! GO GO GO GO GO!" which was the easier approach to get the game done in 48 hours, I plan to overhaul the AI soon (after fixing a ton of other bugs, and learning how to do so) so they will have more interesting attack patterns and enemy types, along with some overdue overhaul of basic features the game was missing due to time constraints, also I will consider your approach of powering robots on and off, and might also experiment with "spawners"
@phlip45 Thank you for your insights, yeah I'm fixing most of the issues raised here in the comments, I base my initial bucket list off of the comments here, but the project has come a long way since the jam release, still fixing some bugs that re-introduced themselves due to some coding issues on my part and I had to redo a lot of the Map assets for the same reason but it's looking better now, the idea to stop robots for a second upon getting shot might be something to consider so I will tinker around with that too!
As for the bar system, I'm still working on a way to make it more crucial to use, by introducing proper resistances and all that, trying to balance between some of the feedback in the comments and my ideas too, I have a few solutions but I need to figure out which one is the more applicable to make the bars easy to use but complex to master
@real-flamingicecubegames Yeah, you basically pointed out all the design flaws, I could've done better, and will try to do better next time, however you are right, it needs more work, and I will work on it more, most things you said I already begun working on, we got a crosshair, I will replace the menu when I finally get a good idea for it (which is why the screen with the bright green was thrown in there), meter management will be more crucial, however thanks for saying the graphics, the sounds are nice, I will still make them better but good to know my simple music and blender skills are decent, so yeah I will be working hard to make this that "Good game" you wanted to see with further work!
@frank-gevaerts thank you! From the comments I deduced there is a lot more one can want but glad you like the game as is  and yes I will replace the menu background... it was the last thing I made so I was creatively bankrupt by that point
@freeworld Thank you! I had some prior experience in blender so I just threw my knowledge at the wall until it worked... you wouldn't believe me if I said I had to painstakingly put the map together into 1 model because I learned gridmaps after the jam
@ciobeni Thank you! I made the crates are barrels in blender based on my vague memory of both in games, barrels almost got some classic green sludge too but never made the cut, plan to model and add more objects to the full version tho, and yeah I know of the crashing issue and I think I fixed it for the most part! Also yeah the enemies are a bit harsh so I will tone them down and bit and make their AI more intelligent so they can be toned up and down based on difficulty :D
@dsk thank you! :D
@naphalm thank you! I tried to make it as high quality as I could with my limited knowledge, also didn't have much time concepting the game out in detail so I designed as I went, still glad people like my silly 3D models :D
@aurailus Thank you! also would you believe if I said I already have theory behind implementing your idea of bar management? ideally iteration 3 (yes I had 2 iterations before) will have the bar you activate deal more damage to other types so blue deals more damage to red and green this applies to both sides... so you either have blue on to defend blue or you take more damage to deal more damage, I'm unsure if this approach is perfect if you have feedback to write a comment here, also I made the shots bigger and better looking, and I may buff projectile speed
@tanis thank you! I'm working on improving the feedback to the user with particles and proper crosshairs etc etc I will keep up the great work! :D
This was a pretty simple but fun game, maxed out both bikers, really hope more will get added later because this game has potential!
There are no words to describe the satisfaction I felt when I managed to fit all items into my tiny bag, this is a very classic fit things into a small space games, and it does the job very well, awesome stuff!
I really like the concept, I wish there was more than 2 levels (unless I'm dumb) some things need better telegraphing like once you get the key what to do, otherwise it's a fine game!
fun little game, the gameplay loop is a bit rough but overall a fun few hours of just messing around building a factory :D
Fun game, with a simple concept, the music was great! Well done!
perfectly emulates the stress of getting hacked, I like the limited space implication with the OS, and the demands are pretty funny :D
this game gave me vibes of another game I really love playing called Just Shapes and Beats, I really love this game, the lasers are perfectly telegraphed, the spiky balls are predictable as they spawn every 15 seconds just avoid the middle, how the level becomes smaller is a nice touch, and I will be playing this until I get a score of 60 or more :D
This game is very simple, yet elegant, frustrating yet so satisfying, well done for making such a fantastic game
I watched the youtube video and wanted to try the game, I'm not disappointed the game is fun, the mechanics are solid, the difficulty goes a bit nuts at the end (probably skill issue on my end), and yeah the controls are a bit floaty, but another thing is to disable movements when you possess something for just a very tiny fraction of a second so I don't instantly ram off the platform when possessing (might be another skill issue), but in general this is a fantastic submission for a 48 hour game :D
Pretty fun game, I struggled the first few games then did a 100+ run and I had fun, it really hits the spot when played well, otherwise you feel that cluttered mess vibe which is bad, god play is rewarding and bad play will make you unhappy, very nice skill based game, also like how you can technically change the colors
I really love this game's vibe and mechanics, it has a feel similar to a game called "Reigns" where you also make decisions as a monarch, with a few more prompts and the prompts being random this can be a really good resource management game, well done!
An interesting entry, mostly focuses on entailing a world through carefully assessed questions, it's a simple little game anybody can pick up and can get immersed in quickly!
This was a fun game, if only I wasn't heavily dyslexic at random intervals writing words so badly that I was laughing the whole way through, with no backspace every mistake is also even worse, I liked the idea and concept!
This was one of the best games I have played during this jam, it was awesome, music and sounds were perfect, the puzzles were good, good pacing, I had a ton of fun, no complaints here
it's tetris, it has candles, it's a nice variant of tetris, I love tetris, it's a great game! a few crashes here and there rn but I'm cursed anyways
first game I tried and this was actually very entertaining in both humor and gameplay, it was a short and fun game overall!
A very fun little entry, once I found the rhythm of the game I was crushing the enemy like they are paper (get it because trees make... nvm) graphics are nice, audio is also pretty cool... I liked it!
I got to the dead end in the outside area, I used my torch everywhere and refrained from using orb because it extinguishes fires... but from my limited experience it's a really fun little puzzle game with nice aesthetics, and also turns my PC into a jet engine (thanks Unreal engine), overall a really nice entry
A little rough around the edges, however it's a really fun game, some things I noticed is you can cancel mid dash by selecting another power, the right click to cancel mechanic is a little finnicky when I select another item (it uses up the item), but visually and gameplay wise it's neat!
A fun little game, I also appreciate how when asked NOT to do certain things I proceeded to do it because I had to, yielding a funny sequence, overall a really good entry Ps. I got cursed again and broke the power demon summoning segment
ah yes the game that mocks me for my bad 2D art skills /j
joking aside really fun game until it demands I draw toxic and makes sparkly because my circles are too square-like, but the failures just add to the narrative and gameloop so a really really nice game
This is by far the best game I played this Jam, it was simple, aesthetically pleasing, I could take everything (which I did), and overall a fun game! (Tho sad I couldn't pick my stats, name, and sigils at the end of the game [I hope somebody gets the joke here])
The game is incredibly simple, yet somehow captivating and incredibly fun to play, sound effects are noice, the visuals are really cool, overall a really great game entry!
A fun little game, I'm terrible at it but I still hand fun just swinging my axe killing things, got a but startled by the portal first time around, and I see the main character has a spike allergy as they should, good job on the game!
An interesting concept! however I somehow keep getting obstacles stacked on top of each other and I'm unsure if that's intentional or not, if intentional the that's a skill issue from me (tho how would you jump over a wall in a lava pool) if not then my curse to break games strike again :D
A multitasking anti-summon game, I really like the twist and mood the game portrays like you are in hell, old and drinking coffee as your neighbor is sucked into a portal to be summoned, your average wednesday, and you said: "Nah I wanna live my life so I will rig all the D20s cast on people I like to roll a Nat 1 (I play too much DnD)
Now this is a very interesting way to take the theme of summoning, combining the simple gameplay of chess, checkers and the summoning aspect, to a degree I wish the levels had you start with X points and you have to use those but the way it is set up now is a skill check on it's own which is also pretty neat, overall no complaints really fun game!
a simple little game with aliens and robots, very nice!
I will put up an itch.io page when I wake up, I'm really tired and need a breather
@mrwarranty Thank you, thank you! Indeed mayhaps my writing was a little on the simpler side, the gameplay was my lesser focus this time wanted something more visually compelling to not burn myself out further, as for the trial, there are different endings I think I will add a spoiler to the itch page for the 3 endings and clarify there are 3 endings
@owtuvammo thank you, thank you! Yeah I wish I had a few more hours to expand on the dialogue, I almost had to scrap/jam the game, however I appreciate you liked the visuals I spent far too much time on them
@noobman64 Thank you, thank you! I did indeed spend too much time on the visuals because I'm heavily burnt out from coding (as per I did most coding for a team of mine) so I wanted something simple but visually stunning (because I love to 3D model), actually this LD made me realize that I could just make very simple to code and play games but make nice visuals for interactive art pieces
@expiredcode Thank you, Thank you! I spent too much time on it because 3D modeling is my passion
@lestat Thank you, Thank you! Glad you found it funny, I wanted to add a good amount of comedy without fully breaking the heavy atmosphere, it appears my efforts were successful
@ugly-robot Thank you, thank you! Yeah I spent a bit more time making the visuals peak and the gameplay simple so I can focus on visuals... the code is far from polished but it's good enough to not crash, or bug out... wish I had that 6 hours from the start where I tried a way different and worse project... then I may have made the bad end animation better
@vivid-hallucination Thank you, thank you! Yeah the character sounds were a bit sharp... I need to find better ways to create sound effects because I still refuse to use fresounds.org... tho perhaps I could use bfxr as I did before and do a little bit of premier pro sound editing
@thomas-gelman Thank you, thank you! Yeah I spent a lot of time on the aesthetics and went with a simple gameplay loop!
@daandruff Thank you, thank you! Yeah perhaps I should've raised the lights a bit, and people said the sound effects were a bit sharp... I will probably update a few things post-jam just so I feel satisfied with the end product...
@tolmera Thank you, than- wait what do you mean upload a cover? for the itch page? yeah let me see what I can do with that one...
@tudvari Thank you, thank you! Yeah Visual Novels have this issue and with my current system it would be quite a nightmare to pop to a random state (spoiler: I'm actually lying it's changing 1 number, but I plan to make a way better system for my future projects) and even if it was easy (which is it) there is no real way to easily tell you to jump to number idk 52 in the dialogue (there is but the visage system would break if you jump too far always ending in Neutral so then I have to let you define your visage too) so yeah sadly not much i can do with it for now
@zablas Thank you, thank you! now that sounds like an idea I can get behind... I been working on a way better more top of the line dialogue, cutscene, and movement manager, so maybe I will expand upon the world of John's Visage... there is a lot of positive reception so just maybe... (this time I will hold my horses or it becomes too big and I can't/won't do it)
@henk I'm going to break my format of always saying thank you, tahnk you first, because I absolutely get what you mean with the disappointment, that is actually a good idea! Issue for that during the jam was... I spent 6 hours on a different project and I just barely finished up the bad ending animations, and going into jam would've been a very bad idear for the game's size and setup, but possible for the post-jam version (if I get to it)
A cool concept for a simple auto-battler, with some extra things like a career/arena mode and maybe a tutorial and extra bits and bobs this would be a really fun little auto-battler
@quasilyte Completely valid, I was focusing on visuals for my game over the actual gameplay so I know how it is to focus on a certain aspect, also lot's of interesting insights on the game's working. I hope you have fun with the visual programming aspect of the game then!
Great writing, the lack of graphics and audio makes it somehow better... like a book almost! An impressive and great entry overall
A fun little game with a fun little mechanic, I had fun playing through the levels even if I didn't get very far sadly, my brain was not doing the thinking when I played it
Awesome game! I had some trouble finding the last 2 candles but I managed to figure it out, well done!
This is an awesome game! I like the art, the audio, everything is top-notch here, and the game also offers a mode made for me, where I have no idea there are charge attacks, dashes, and other things and beat the game with basic attacks
A little hard to understand the controls but after reading the instructions I had some fun with the game
This is a really fun little game, simply and clearly explained mechanics, nice graphics, for a Compo game this is really good, and as a jam game (unfortunate page glitched) it's also a really good game!
A simple concept of summoning bergs, has a vibe similar to games where when you die your previous dead character helps you out, the level design is peak however, showing off different mechanics! (I also broke the level with 2 buttons, as per expected from my curse to break games) overall well done!
I love games where you can just slam your keyboard to progress, makes me feel like some elite coder, then we got goblins, overall a really funny and fun entry (especially without a game engine)
The gameplay was a bit hard to adapt to because I had no indications when to hit a note key, I managed to spawn a skeleton into the wall, and navigating was hard without the fabled yellow paint (tbh I prefer to be lost and trying to find my way around than actually following a trail) overall a neat concept, I had fun playing but just a few extra things would've made it perfect!
A lovely game! has a lot of potential! I almost played the game without moving then wanted to ask how to get points then I read the controls, I had fun blasting, attacks have a nice OOMF to them
The concept is clean and fun, I love puzzle games so I had much fun, like how the game doesn't hard reset but let you keep thinking on your previous failure, actively forcing you to evolve it till you win, graphics are simple, charming, and clean, and this game might have 1 music but it's an absolute banger! Awesome game!
Simple, clean, still managed to spook me a bit, audio is scary but works perfectly, an absolutely awesome LD entry!
this is a fun little browser game, I love the concept and everything about it, it's nice and simple, and I like the story, and the name of the game especially hits because I feel like you based it on Papa's games, a lovely hidden gem!
WORLD RECORD FOR BREAKING THE GAME BEFORE IT STARTED! (peak performance from me) Anyhow I'm not super sure what I was doing but I was doing something I think I will play another run and try to do things differently, very fun game tho as usual Rémy :P
Update on the breaking of the game... if you tap the flame guy on and off from the first flame it can extinguish itself and lead to a lovely softlock and crash
image_2024-10-11_112046502.png
@trasevol-dog no worries! I love breaking your games both in the record and in the code sense :dragon: (buff pickaxe part drop rate I beg you)
combining an obstacle course with tetris, this might jsut eb my favorite concept of a game, and I also am really bad at it! I had a ton of fun messing about tho!
This game was absolutely awesome! I can see many ways to play this game like going in assault rifle blazing, pick people off with the sniper, or stealth with the pistol, movement is a tad bit floaty for the turning but overall fun to control!
Not to boast but I beat the entire game with pistol only, was a fun experience trying to not get swarmed and lose all my HP in the later levels
combining what is essential conways game of life and flappy bird, genius, a really simple and clean concept executed perfectly!
The first, and quite possibly only second person (yes that's a thing) game I played during a ludum dare, daring yet done elegantly, this is one of my top picks for this jam, BRAVO!
Ps: Second person refers to a game where your character is perceived through the perspective of another, in this case the bug is perceived from the perspective of the exterminator
looks to be a fun entry, got a bit confused because there are no tutorials or indicators or anything, alas looks to be a classic management sim with a fun twist, I like it!
man this game is tough, but a fun little maze runner, had a lot of fun trying to find the right way without being spotted, well done!
a simple merging game, fun and addicting as merger games tend to be!
looks charming, I had a bit of trouble figuring out what I was supposed to do, still a really solid little game :D
Awesome entry! The controls gave me some trouble but I got the hang of it, like the aesthetics, well done!
This entry is really fun, still in a run as of writing, I'm going to crash the leaderboard :) the graphic is charming, the audio is nice, the updates are borderline busted later on, but I don't mind, for I have become death, destroyer of worlds with my oppenheimer jealous minions
Update:
image_2024-10-11_182910277.png
good enough...
@serenewind well played, I got cocky and lost right before 5K
Incredibly fun and unique game, well done!
A fun little endless game where spirits violate osha regulation by throwing heavy coal at each other or step into the fire, fun stuff and has a nice difficulty curve! well done!
Holy, this is a banger! I had a lot of fun playing through it, this game has potential to go big like undertale or oneshot, one must hope you guys keep developing it and adding more zones and stuff! game so good I'd pay for it, absolutely magnificent work!
(also hello from the void)
image_2024-10-12_194241883.png
it's a simple minimalist game, the mechanic of using your own mass to gather more mass is great fun, overall a pretty fun little entry :D
Okay this game is hilarious because the physics are incredibly janky, I'm all for janky physics and even put together a few of my favorites! (at the end of this review)
The music was a bit bugged together but didn't bother me too much, the idea is awesome, execution is there, I had fun playing and abusing the physics!
And now a collection of my favorite bugs!
WHEEEE!

gotta replace your batteries :D
image_2024-10-12_112954383.png
@zsharpfire see the battery to the left of the stronkbot? yeah I tipped it over and because the game points to the barrel when the stronkbot carrying it is selected the arrow's orientation aligns with the battery
Usually I only rate the game but I will make an exception, I love your energy and art style, dropped a follow on every platform conceivable, excited for your next game because you have talent (also yo another punkcake and shotgun king fan?)
Okay now for the game itself, the art is beautiful but silly, absolutely perfect for my brain, combining checkers with the most random piece choices is incredibly innovating, they are tiny creatures on the board so really fits the theme, has a great value of humor, audio was a treat, be it a tad bit sharp on my ears, bravo this is easily a top 3 of mine this jam
incredibly funny game! It is quite literally how my life looks sometimes! Played the game for 10 minutes could've gone more but the difficulty didn't increase anymore, the artstyle is funny, creative name and concept, overall a superb endless game experience!
Fun little game, managed to get an impossible run, then won with a solid score of 0, I liked the different paltforms wished the platforms that had spikes at the bottoms would prevent you from jumping through them, just a game dev nitpick from me, alas the game way fun :D
fun little game, I love how the ants start to swarm up near dead ants like they are trying to nurse them back to health (which is a real thing btw) sometimes when I died I got stuck but a quick reload was enough to get me back to shooting, was a fun little experience!
fun little turn based strategy, featuring hexagons which are the best for these types of games, audio was nice, game worked pretty well, no real comments on the art because graphics was opted-out of (tho I liked the assets used) anyways a solid game!
Awesome entry! The visuals are unusual but I love it! (my pc... less so ) I had some trouble navigating but I got there in the end! was a lovely platforming experience!
@diabolical-sloth Thank you! Yeah I was gonna add subtitles but time was not on my side, had to cut so much content, I have a makeshift solution for missing the solutions which is to write them out into the description in a spoiler tag, or rather into a .txt file
@dogesquad ah that one, you press the back arrow (at the bottom) to fix that... I somehow made a control system more buggy than my first game for LD, I been reworking the code so much I'm inclined to believe it does that to spite me especially because it's inconsistent so it may or may not happen again
@sviborg thank you! Yeah I wish I had just a bit more time to polish up the gameloop, but I was also not happy with the gameloop to spend 24 more hours and enter the jam...
As for why so little ratings, my smart score is abyssmal I'm yet to rate and touch anybody's game because mental health and physical health said nah, I'm going to try and catch up today but basically you need to rate games to get rated else your game will be... understandably put into a really low sector of the smart tab to prevent people coming in making a game and not engaging
@splittheatom Ah yeah the voice recorded tutorial! it came from me looking at the clock and going: nah got no time to make a menu with a typed out tutorial, record my voice, send it, same goes for the clues ran out of time to add subtitles, glad you liked tthe vibe!
@blazerker Yeah the arrows are limiting but I didn't wanna do yet another FPS controller, wanted it to be more unique (be it somehow more buggy), subtitles were planned but time constraints got me, the game is confusing because I failed to make things more clear, not my greatest performance and I'm already considering making an entire remake purely because of that
@crcdng I love going spooky and mysterious, as for the music I got no time for it, I have a bunch of music samples left to rot will probably toss it up on youtube soon:tm: as for the narrator... that might be a me voice skill issue I have an awful voice so I wanted it to be deeper and more radio-ey what would fix that issue is subtitles alas **TIME**
@damdoshi greetings!
Yeah subtitles not being present is a big issue, I just couldn't squeeze it in there on time, and truth is I really despise the gameloop as is, doesn't feel like I did the idea justice so that's why I have not been updating the game for subtitles sadly, if I update the game it will be a brand new gameloop with subtitles and maybe better voice acting, etc etc. (unless I feel lazy and let bermuda perish like the rest)
Alas there is a .txt file with the solutions, sure it's cheating but atleast you can try to finish the game, otherwise I dunno people seem to like this little bugger might worth to run an upgrade cycle on it and my LD 55 entry, alas for now life is hectic in game dev land so I will report back later!
I apologize for the inconvenience and my crappy voice
Update: I caved let me whip up a web build specifically on itch.io with subtitles (I feel adding them is against the spirit of LD as it is me adding code and stuff instead of fixing bugs)
@fint thank you, my voice acting career is getting there! As for a more fleshed out version... I plan to go from almost the ground up and push the game to something more akin to tattletale, better Bermuda AI (anything is better than nothing), actual map, less bugs, more movement options, better story... either coming soon or a dream in my head!
+1 bug LOL at this stage Narrowlabs runs better than this game, shameful on my part
yes yes subtitles, did a little bit it's not easy, hints are easy tho might just push hints and call it (being lazy wins again!)
@henk according to the diagram...
image_2024-10-12_190041160.png
it is infact Purple, 8, waxing gibbous...
yeah I wanted more sounds for death anim, **TIME** and those 2 analysis paralyses also didn't help my case...
The creature as is a waste of time besides being the theme sponge, I had bigger plans but 2D art said: nah (I just recently got a new artstyle yet again)
speedrunner is partically the intended routte with all the bugs...
secret music is super luck based... you have to die and get a secret death message that is rare... and one of the rare ones demand you alt+f4 lest you wanna hear 2.5 minutes of me reciting [redacted]
so be my guest: https://youtu.be/3FCUl7MiWO8?si=i_Cm8RZCQW-hxA__
PS to anybody else: the entire OST and UST is up on my channel :D
@bentglasstube yeah so the machine part being far or near is a bug (this game is barely functional at this stage)
+1 subtitles/hints
I'm glad you liked the graphics, I'm still refining the characters and the processes I make them with so they become simple, but good to look at
@hanafl0wer oh really? Well the game itself is small so it makes sense, I had to dig through the .js file to ensure it runs on this site tho, I can confidently say tho that after a week of my classes (we started HTML and JS right after Ludum Dare LOL) that HTML and js is way more powerful than I thought especially with three.js that makes animating and importing blender models a breeze
Okay enough about my future coding endeavour rant yeah somehow the controls became super buggy probably because I wanted to use lerps to smoothly rotate and move about, voice acting was just a haha funny I tried people like it but it's hard to make things out and requires subtitles (there is a solutions.txt on itch actually) so I will see if I keep giving these shape guys voices or if I return to noises and text
@m2tias I sure did dare, initially it was WASD/Arrows but for some reason I wanted it to do arrows... honestly the entire control system is incredibly bugged because I wanted lerps, I'd say I will use animations next time but I'm in the middle of an engine/language swap so who knows what I will use next (probably better tho)
Yeah my graphics/audio/mood seem to be my strong suit from what the comments tell me, which is great but my games fall into the "all style, no substance" category because of that...
also you don't have a career choice... (wow actual lore I didn't expand on/made up after the Jam, alas yes I think we all agree that Sillycone got cooked with this job)
impressive little game, you can build, throw pebbles, die to ants! charming and fun, hope you expand on the game :D
the style is magnificent, the idea is flawless, the tower placement is a bit wacky but I had a lot of fun defending the cheese!
image_2024-10-21_205136448.png
if I didn't know any better I'd say this was a game in the works for months if not a few years, bravo!
it's criminal this game is in the danger zone, the game concept is amazing, the myth behind it is interesting and fun, graphics are nice, gameplay is fun, a top tier entry!
One must imagine the dawn beetle happy
the visuals are nice, the story is great and funny, clean mechanics, I had a lot of fun playing this game!
I enjoyed the game, I eventually figured that the best strat is to never split and if I split recall immediately as every minion killed lost me max HP, a 1 man army approach, this game iy really funny and I even called it "wow somebody made silksong before it even released" because it has a very slight hollow knight feel to it for me (not me continually yelling SHAW! while killing hornets) well done! with some polish this can be a super fun game!
The graphics are an absolute charm, the music and sound design is absolutely well done, the game loop and design is superb, I like this game, I like the story behind this game, I like to throw things across the restaurant while yelling "YEET!" in this game, I had a ton of fun, well done to the team!
(Tho I must ask did this game take any inspiration from the animated movie ratatouille? I can see some mild paralells between the game's story and the movie is all, and curiosity got the best of me)
a charming entry! I had fun roaming around the arcade figuring out how to get the tokens, journey broke tho so even after rescuing everyone and doing most tasks I could never see the awesome dance party, besides that a lovely game, if you guys are plotting a fixed version let me know I wanna revisit the game for the dance party :)
this game is where you have 2 moods... you are either laughing like a psychopath having fun or you are screaming at your 3 AI teammates for being so utterly stupid, absolutely magnificent, it looks nice, plays nice, sounds nice, everything is nice in this game, 10/10 would recommend
The lack of graphics is a perfect choice! the audio is a perfect representation of the engagement, it can and will give you a sensory overload, all the people are numbers, but the casualty feed give everyone a name, first you feel they are just tiny numbers, then you glance over the casualties, the horror sets in as your banzai charge of "just numbers" suddenly materialize as a massive list of people who died, artillery orders also play into this, shrapnels were super dangerous and painful, same with gas shells, this game has a strong mood, perfect audio to play into the mood, the perfect amount of visuals to let the whole thing set it, a well done, clean, and simple entry
