It was a little confusing for me at first. But when it clicked on me, it wa a nice experience. Nice Job!
Had a little bit of trouble trying to figure out how to play the game, but once I did, I got really into it!!
I really like the Art Direction of this game. My feedback would be to design FTUE and maybe more UX design in-game to understand faster how it works.
Inputs were extremely buggy, like half of my inputs were just being dropped. Wasn't clear either that the player needs to mouse-click on a target in order to have them selected, which was very confusing.. I would merge a slime and losing control without knowing what to do was scary.
Good concept, good music.
Like other's said, took me a while to understand how to play. Mood was lovely and I had a nice time after getting use to it, congratulations on the submission!
Looks really nice but even after figuring out how to play the game it was really hard to know what I had selected and when I was allowed to move it.
I couldn't figure out the controls :( how do you move stuff? I started just running my hand across the whole keyboard and pressed all the mouse buttons but nothing was having an effect.
An interesting game. I would suggest having a tutorial to explain how to play in a little more detail, as well as a way to see what slimes and tiles you have selected. The music is great and has a very comfortable vibe. Well done overall.
The game is unfortunately buggy and gives no clear indication that you clicked on anything. It also doesn't give any feedback on what you clicked so there's no real direction in what to do. Other than that it's a basic match game, fine for a first jam submission but hard press to believe that it was made by someone who knows what they're doing
I won but I'm confused, could any devs update a how to play or controls please? :)
Unfortunately I couldn't quite understand what was happening in this game. I would recommend adding a tutorial or some UI explaining how to play the game. I also ran into a bug where it said I won the first level, but then when I tried to press "Next Level", another screen popped up and it said I lost. I liked the background audio and the visuals though!
As others have already mentioned, the controls are quite unclear. I think that you're supposed to click a slime, then use WASD to move them, which worked for me for a while until it didn't work anymore. I also got a "You Win" and "You Lost" screens at the same time so it was quite confusing what was going on.
Felt very clunky to control with no much feedback on any input. I would get stuck in weird situations. Took me to almost quit the game to see the different types of combinations. I like the concept but I would have liked to have seen a bit more polish!
A relaxing and cute game. I really like the slimes, they are especially adorable. It feels like the board is a bit small, maybe it could be enlarged a bit?
Actually I was confused because I see Your Win and You Lost at the same time. Nice music.
I couldn’t know how to control it...
The visuals and music in the game are fantastic, and the gameplay involves merging and eliminating elements on the board. However, there's a lack of guidance in player controls. I couldn't find any relevant hints, so it took me a while to figure out the correct way to play.
Here's what I discovered:
- Clicking on a slime selects it (although there's no feedback, you did select it). - Using WASD keys moves the selected slime. You can merge them when you move them onto suitable slimes. The merging rules can be found in the pause menu.
Overall, it's pretty good, but it would be even better if the control scheme could be optimized.
Incredible art, for sure! The cover image and the 3D elements are great. I had a hard time figuring out the conditions of winning and losing, and couldn't discover why slimes could only be merged once. It seemed like I should have been able to merge the second stages as well, since that would have made a lot more room on the grid for more elements. Some feedback for player actions would go a long way communicating what you can and can't do, and I think this could be added in a future update and make the game much more enjoyable. Music is suited well for the gameplay, nice and calm! Good job.
Interesting concept, but definitely needs an explanation or tutorial.
Lacks a tutorial, but I was able to figure out what's what. Especially when I saw the diagram in the pause menu. The controls are a little unresponsive. Sometimes I don't understand why the slime doesn't move. The 2d design is great as the music. Good job!
The game looks nice, the music is fine, sadly the music doesn't loop or anything, controls are a bit janky, and I was majorly confused on merging slimes and the diagram, it's a nice game to build on but it really needs some extra work sadly
I'm really drawn in! Great art and music, and I agree with other commenters that I'd appreciate a tutorial/brief explanation of how to play - took me a bit to figure it out. Really nice work!
Really need some guidance. I like the art but really get confused about the control at first and then the game goals.
Very cute and creative. I'd just repeat what others have said that some instructions on how to play the game are necessary. I had no idea what was going on for most of the first level. I also swear that I click on a slime to control it and then it doesn't respond. Also, when the slimes merge, it feels like I have to click on the larged merged slime again to control it. I think the gameplay would go smoother if you kept controlling what is essentially the same slime after merging.
Interesting idea and artistically well done, but like others had no idea about the controls or combination mechanics. Beyond text or a tutorial, an indicator of selecting a slime would be nice. It's also not clear what the goal is, I guess just to not fill the grid all the way? I beat level 2 by doing nothing, so maybe needs some balancing too.
