LD51 — Every 10 seconds

thanks, II hate it! by thristhart 2022-10-04T13:04:00Z

This was so funny, when the wordle came up I genuinely laughed so hard. It was really fun even though each mini game was a familiar game from before. The wire connecting one was a bit hard to find the accurate hitbox but other than that this was fun.

Binary Blasterz『ロボット 弾幕』 by Junber 2022-10-04T13:12:00Z

oo the graphics is so cool, every time frame could be in a manga page. That's a really unique take on rhythm games and the theme, I really liked the music as well.

Sprawl: A cyberpunk interactive graphic novel by m11 2022-10-06T05:22:40Z

Such a unique approach. Definitely eye-opening to see more AI art put in practice. This was inspiring. Interactive pdf was also a new strategy I haven't thought of before. Thanks for making this!

Come Shell or High Water by ursagames 2022-10-06T05:03:49Z

Hahaha that intro to the BGM was hilarious, I wish the part with lyrics looped more. This is a solid game, I just wish there would be a shadow where the seagull are flying/about to come down. Anyways, I had a blast looking for donuts rather than fish.

À la carte by Steing 2022-10-04T09:37:50Z

Wow this game was so fun, I haven't discovered all the recipes yet but I will keep trying. The first few times wasn't so intuitive, like when I got eggs and tomatoes together after getting them individually, my initial reaction is to combine them in some way, but it was impossible to make anything out of it. But when I got two eggs the game starting rolling. a small tutorial would be nice, I also didn't notice that the cutting and mixing areas were locked until I passed the early levels. I kept trying to cut things when I first started playing. Overall this game is one of my favourites! I really enjoyed every aspect of this game! hope to see a full polished version!

À la carte by Steing 2022-10-04T20:58:58Z

The new version is sooo much better, I came back to play this game again since I'm so addicted. Please keep making more recipes, that was super fun. I didn't quite understand the tiers of different colors, is purple the best one? It's still a bit unclear, raw cut fish and cooked fish were both green, but raw fish costed me a life. I thought that was sashimi LOL. It'd be cool to have a tier list, or an indicator that shows the food can be further cooked or upgraded.

Game Name by Strega 2022-10-04T08:08:51Z

Such a smart idea! it had so much variety in the mini games, though it got a little repetitive towards the 3rd day (aka typing the same exact code) but I guess you gotta do what you gotta do to finish a game jam. Super impressive overall.

Yes, Comrade. by Hugimugi7 2022-10-04T11:36:10Z

The voice acting added so much to the mood, the music was spot on too! It reminded me of papers please in the best way possible. It was pretty addicting, but I wasn't sure if it mattered whether or not the connected country was an ally, maybe I should've tried to sabotage. It's a really well done game, the 10 seconds break down was a smart idea but wasn't punishing enough in my opinion. I wonder if there is a way to win the game, I will keep trying!

Bear's Home Repairs by AMastryukov 2022-10-06T08:23:19Z

LOL i did not expect those cute bears to just explode with blood everywhere hahahaha nvm, that was fun!

ForgeBoard by Thesandgamer 2022-10-04T05:42:24Z

I feel like the concept could be so cool if the mechanic was a bit clearer. I'm kind of confused on where I'm supposed to move them, maybe some tutorial text could help explain the goal? The music really fit the vibe! It was really new to me to see the "keyboard" on the screen respond to my keypress, weirdly satisfying. Hope I will be able to see the full game.

BeaT-Rex by Andreas Roschal 2022-10-04T10:01:09Z

that was fun! what a cool idea. Though the lasers quickly got hard to manage around, I almost had to take HP every time I got the chest, maybe i'm just bad :( Maybe some variety to the beats would be nice, but it was really fun and addicting!

Smack Demon by Firebelley 2022-10-04T08:25:11Z

That was so fun! I really liked the level design. I was confused at first between "seconds" and "turn" so i was just spam clicking thinking I didn't time it right, but once i figured out that it was turn based the game made more sense to me. Graphics and music matched well together. Great work!

[X-ED OUT] by Nash 2022-10-04T10:18:17Z

this game is a simple idea executed flawlessly! I really liked the sound effects, and mechanic was easy to understand. At first it was kind of hard to aim, but once I got a good run going, by about 6th, 7th round, when I have the big gun, I can pretty much hold down one direction and spray nonstop in a circle. It'd be good to have more variety of aliens or some other mechanic that would punish people for abusing that. I had to stop playing when it felt like the level wasn't getting much harder. I also wished that I could see how many more coins I have to collect to upgrade. It would be interesting to see what would happen if it was required to get back to the tank/circle before the time runs out, I wonder if the greed to collect more coins will kill people more than the aliens haha. Definitely not me yelling at the person to walk faster :')

10 Second Mixtape by Scott Steffes 2022-10-04T12:31:47Z

omg the art for the mixtapes is so cute! Now i wish there was a sticker pack for those multi colored tapes. I really enjoyed all the customizable parts. I wonder if it would be easier to punch in the notes if the asdfghj... were in a horizontal orientation like a real keyboard? it took me a bit to figure out which key connects to which music note, but it was still fun :D

Call It A Day by Stenyin 2022-10-04T08:07:01Z

Graphics and music were amazing, I did get stuck in a rock once, but other than that the game was pretty cool!

Lys by VPhyre 2022-10-06T07:06:02Z

Hello! long feedback sorry :c

First off, I really liked the idea of this game, I have never thought about colour changing mirror puzzles. It was well combined with the theme and it's rare to find a puzzle game that uses colour theory. It's amazing how much assets you created, background and character art, UI, gameplay assets... that's crazy! And to have a story on top of it too!

I feel like there're a few things that could help elevate the game: - I really really liked the colourful background art/cover art you created for the game, it fits the game perfectly! I wish there were posters of it <3 However, I think it was a little busy to use for the dialogue window, as there are white texts on top of it. It was a bit draining to read. I really enjoy the use of multiple colours, the aesthetics stood out in a good way, it just needs some clarity and hierarchy. Same goes for the prisms on the background art, they blended in due to the lack of edge clarity, a brighter outline in white for the prism might help?

- The levels were really fun, I liked how there were "misleading" mirrors that made me think again, I feel like that worked really well. The learning curve was also well adjusted. One issue I had was how the mirrors could only be turned towards 3 angles, but they're in a circle which implied that you can turn them 360 deg. I often found myself clicking on them multiple times to see it's maximum angles because it wasn't indicated already. And like others said, sometimes it's easy to just spam clicks on the prisms to solve that puzzle.

That being said, I think mirror puzzles are some of the most difficult and intricate puzzles to design, so you guys did really well for picking such an ambitious theme. You may have already seen these two games for inspo: Portal & Talos principle. They had some really well designed laser puzzles.

Cubical Mayhem by pepnou 2022-10-04T11:14:06Z

I feel like there is so much more thinking and strategy I could do with this game! It was such a fun idea, I definitely had to pick and choose what to prioritize. I didn't really understand what the map is for on the bottom left, wish there was more instruction for that. Found a minor bug where the volume control no longer works after returning to the main screen. Really good graphics, great job!

Armillario by Ingo_holle 2022-10-04T11:53:23Z

This was so relaxing, I really liked the audio effects and how the soundtrack builds as the organism grows. It was a really unique take on the theme. I don't know if I got lucky but all my enemies were spawning from the right side, and none from the left.

What's the rules? by Pusheeneiro 2022-10-04T10:39:13Z

that was pretty fun! It did get slightly annoying that I had to start over every time, but maybe that's the point. Maybe if the leftover time from previous tasks were added to the next level, I would be in the 1% LOL

Starmony by bamberga 2022-10-06T07:18:43Z

Aw this game is precIOUS!!! At first I was confused with the rules, but then I didn't care anymore and just shoot as many stars as I could. The game was simple and there wasn't any punishing mechanic so it was just super chill, I actually liked that. And the stars made music too, that's such a nice detail. It felt like a stress reliever <3 thanks for making it!

Rockatoo by AdamCYounis 2022-10-04T12:36:27Z

of course the animation is never disappointing from you! I loved the music you created for different stages. It was a little bit hard to look at other places when I'm focused on hitting the right moves, overlooked the new moves for most of the game. Really cool and polished game still.

Ticktock Tactics by Cral 2022-10-04T11:01:31Z

Wow the pixel art is so polished for a game jam! I liked how there was an option to make the turns go faster.

Citri Plays Noirwood by AploveStudio 2022-10-04T03:30:57Z

I loved the art and the idea of playing as a twitch streamer. I wish there was a way to actually interact with the chat. Sometimes she would say that "i think we got away" but the monster is still right on the screen. I definitely laughed out loud for some of the comments

Chicken Golem! by T C 2022-10-06T06:18:00Z

The controls felt really good for platformer. Pretty incredible to do all that level design in such a short time! I was a little confused with how the switches didn't reset the timer, but got used to it after a bit.

Poda Wants a Statue by Doot 2022-10-04T10:48:33Z

oh my, it took me 215 years, Poda needs to chill!!! this was such a cute game, really polished, I wish there was more. This island looked so lovely, really good concept, it was cool to see the progress of making it.

Bearly Fishing by SakuH 2022-10-04T09:54:34Z

It was challenging yet fun! I really liked the graphics, the music was so well done too. I liked how the water was a checkpoint so you don't have to start over, otherwise it would be too frustrating. Overall really polished, I like the title of the game c;

Work Hard Game Harder by NomadicRockMan 2022-10-04T08:47:55Z

Haha this was too realistic, however I discovered that I suck at multitasking. Really fun idea! I'm tempted to solve all the work questions and see what happens..

J-Menuing by nyxkn 2022-10-06T05:33:24Z

What a clever way to turn a classic game mode into something new and interesting. Really refreshing to see!

Hotel Catastrophe by Xeltide 2022-10-04T00:05:47Z

This game is so cute! I wish the jumps were less floaty, but the cute cat noises and the graphics kept me playing. I'm a little confused about the numbers under the cats, sometimes I would have 3 cats with the number 2 under them. There was one small bug where a cat is just standing still at the check in, facing the other direction. I can't check in with the cat either. see image: Capture.PNG

Scribble Rush by Str0nkyK0ng 2022-10-04T01:04:38Z

I personally love drawing games and this was funny and cute at the same time! I really like the idea, it's simple yet well executed.

Discomobulate (ง'̀-'́)ง by Usenrame 2022-10-03T23:59:00Z

The idea of two muscular chicken punching each other is hilarious! I wish the buttons were more intuitive (like WASD, W for punch, S for block/retreat?) Overall really good take on the theme, I haven't been able to beat the chick yet.

Drone TD by Stefan B. 2022-10-06T05:53:09Z

Being able to fly around and collect money for tower defense was pretty new compared to passively gaining money to upgrade purely through killing units/time passing. I liked you can hear where the alarm is ringing from through a headset, that's some good work on audio!

One small thing: I understand that you may not want to reveal the entire environment through a mini map since we're supposed to explore on our own, but I definitely got lost a few times because a vast majority of the land had no memorable tile pattern that were distinguishable. Perhaps an arrow pointing where the base is would be helpful? then at least we won't be lost on the map.

Thanks for making the game! good job c:

ShipIt! by Joey Van Lierop 2022-10-04T08:59:35Z

This game was soooo cute, the way its ears flap.. It was a little hard to line up the with the exact square I want to plant on. Same issue with interacting with the exact thing I want to pick up, I wonder if highlighting the item will help, it gets quite hectic when there are so many plants and seeds on the screen! Overall super cute game, loved it!

Shady business by Peche et Tradition 1867 2022-10-06T06:03:00Z

Superb mood and immersion in this game, unfortunately I couldn't finish the entire game and quickly got motion sickness D: (my problem) It's super impressive to whip up all these assets in such a short time, great entry!

Delivery Rush by Georgy16 2022-10-04T09:44:25Z

the background sound made the task so much more immersive LOL, I liked how simple the game was, though i wish the act of packing was more satisfying and neat, sometimes objects would just fly everywhere due to physics and bounciness? Anyways, it was a relaxing experience :D

Bygone Melodies by Save Sloth Studios 2022-10-04T20:18:15Z

The aesthetics, the music, the gameplay, storytelling, all perfectly matched each other. This game made me so happy :D the only complaint I have would be that the rhythm in the second level got a little static, it seemed easier than the first level. Other than that this game feels extremely polished, every scene looked like a page out of a published illustration book.

Best LD Game Ever! by alks 2022-10-06T07:57:29Z

can confirm, best ld game objectively.

Impact-Effect by IdeasPerSecond 2022-10-04T08:43:57Z

Oh the music gets me so hyped! The slow-mo when you're attacking is soooo satisfying, I really enjoyed it. The dotted trails that enemies left behind are too similar to the enemy themselves though, maybe change up the size to make them more distinguishable from one another? It gets pretty hard to see which is which when there are 50 of them swarming around. I really liked the color scheme, kept me focus on the gameplay.

Decrypt by Gabriel Chan 2022-10-03T23:56:20Z

@raphaeltan Thanks for playing the game! The animation does look pretty static, we originally had more animation planned out but didn't have enough time to add it. We will try our best to add it in a post-jam version :D

@ideaspersecond Yes! the game is a "twist" on tetris, thanks for playing! We have a tutorial panel that can be opened through the question mark button on the top left. We will consider adding that to the title screen as well.

@str0nkyk0ng Thanks for the comment! We are planning to fix the letter moving system post jam, stay tuned for a smoother animation :)

@nbumgardner Thank you for the comment, we will try to make the experience better in the post jam version. Thank you for the comment on the music as well, the audio person wasn't sure what vibe she was going for :')

@joey-van-lierop Thanks for playing! That's an excellent suggestion to reveal which words the player lost on, we'll add that to our update list.

Decrypt by Gabriel Chan 2022-10-04T01:31:45Z

@radetech yeaa... we still have issues with implementing UI on different screen sizes, so you have to play on full screen to get the full experience. thanks for playing!

@beetlebox thanks for the kind words!

@bougiebirdie Thanks for the feedback and screenshot of the bug! We will get on the bug fix right away. I applaud you for getting to stage 3! (artist of the game struggles to get to stage 2)

Decrypt by Gabriel Chan 2022-10-04T02:48:27Z

@x000000 Thanks for playing! bonus points for discovering a bug haha! we will get on the fix.

@jess-from-online Thank you so much for the kind comment! there's a tutorial panel if you click on the question mark on top left, we should make it more noticeable. Thanks for the feedback.

@anniv4x @georgy16 @lautilaj @firebelley @flonotone thanks for playing!

@protowlf :OOOO you must be cracked at unscrambling! thank you so much for the feedback, we will keep working on it. It is a little hard to gauge whether 10 seconds is too long or too short for different players, we will try to balance it out more.

@paul-avallone Thank you! that's a great suggestion, we will add that to our list :D

@zakroutil @pusheeneiro Thanks for playing!

@nash Thank you for the feedback! We are trying to figure out a way to make the dragging mechanic feel smoother and more intuitive, the indicator suggestion really helps!

@asue Thanks for the comment! That was a worry we had as well, but during playtesting some native english speakers were struggling as well haha (i won't say who :face_palm_tone1:) We will keep testing to see if there are certain words that are too hard in our word bank!

Decrypt by Gabriel Chan 2022-10-04T13:00:29Z

@thegamearchitect thanks for trying it out!

@excy I feel you, I'm losing my mind over these words.. thanks for playing!

@honest-dan Your feedback is really helpful!! thank you so much for the ideas. We will definitely keep working on it.

@steamdr4gon Oh no, sorry for that! that sounds frustrating, we will add that to our bug fixing list. Thanks for letting us know c:

@m11 thanks for playing!

@shiro-white @mrmaico @ramelio @karen-shum Thank you guys for all the comments on the UI!! We will continue to polish it so those bugs won't be there anymore :D

@nyxkn one of the hacks in the later stages gives out that ability, but it's random, maybe we should let players equip a skill they want to start out with? thanks for the feedback!

@jackofcups We just discovered that bug too! Thanks for reporting it to us c:

@john-llyod-apolo @pinnyo @asbjorn Thank you for the feedback :D The letter dragging system is top priority on our fix list! :wrench:

@motti We will consider adding word banks for different languages, I think that's a good addition!

@birdy-games @helzinko Thanks for playing!

@hellsquirrel Oh wow I didn't know that, that's pretty funny. The overlapping letters and dragging letter bugs are definitely some common ones amongst many others :((( who knew that UI dominant games could have more troubles than regular games. thank you for the feedback! We will keep working on it for sure c:

@gibss We appreciate your comment!! that's a really good point, we will look into integrating the current UI with a more friendly light mode for other audiences in the future :)

@doot Thank you for playing our game! We will continue to adjust the click and drag feedback. I'm a big fan of your game c:

Thanks for everyone elses' comments too! They mean a lot of us. We are working on improving the drag and drop system (including visual feedback), filtering the word bank, as well as the remaining bugs. Bugs that still occur: - ~~*letter sticking to cursor*~~ - ~~*some "hacks" causing the game to be unplayable (unable to see any words)*~~ - *baseline ui looking weird* - ~~*Ui not scaling correctly out of full screen*~~

Also super impressed by everyone who posted their high score, apparently I suck at my own game

Stoked by Alexzoin 2022-10-04T00:52:04Z

it was so calm and relaxing. It was a little confusing on the goal of the game and how the lost souls worked. Maybe the mechanic will be more challenging if it costed something to stoke the fire? ex. you have to collect a certain amount of souls for one reignition? I was so sad to have to let my fire die. I really liked the music.

Scratching By by rsheepdv 2022-10-04T08:17:33Z

Omg this is my favourite type of game! I really liked the variety of drinks and food you can make, the pacing was good as well. The BGM really fit the cute vibe but it might need to be normalized or the frequencies might need some balance, sometimes it gets a bit harsh. Well done game!

Four Cents by BougieBirdie 2022-10-04T00:44:58Z

This game is so lovely, I love the graphics and the audio. I wish I would own such a cute cafe irl. It was a little confusing that I had to take their order when it's already displayed on screen. I wish the work area (where the barista is moving around) would take up a bigger portion of the screen. Well executed game, I'll keep playing until I can retire happily c:

UMBRELLA REVENGE by SAGIII 2022-10-04T02:31:50Z

The artwork is incredible! it's so impressive to create such a polished look in a game jam. I wish the wall jumping mechanic was more responsive. That cover art is just the best!

Exp10sion by lynnezzzy 2022-10-06T08:09:17Z

关卡设计真的很厉害,让我想起了时空幻境。就是有一关的倒计时挡住了后面的平台。The difficulty and learning curve are also well adjusted, no cases of cognitive overload. Must've took a lot of effort. Well done <3

Void Well by Helzinko 2022-10-06T06:34:57Z

I really enjoyed the aesthetics and art design of the game. It had the right amount of contrast between all the elements. Visual clarity was high even in a small vertical space.

Prom Pandemonium by NotALobster 2022-10-04T08:34:54Z

It's so ambitious to make a visual novel for a game jam but you guys have done it! That was a solid game, there were just a few small things that could make the game feel more polished imo: - the music stopped after a while, looping it would be nice. - some small things about the textbox, the choice indicator was white on white which was hard to see, and there was one time the text was too long for the textbox so it got cut off. - some hints about the time change (10 seconds) in the visual would be nice.

The writing was really relatable though, good job guys!

Don't mess with my papitas by rascher 2022-10-04T00:12:41Z

Ooooo I love this idea, the game reminds me of stardew. The graphics is so adorable! I wish there was a cute soundtrack to go with it. The walking feels a bit like sliding on ice. I think the game would feel better if there was more visual feedback for successfully purchasing a seed. Really cute game, I love potatoes.

Time: Cardmancer by AkaCMD 2022-10-06T08:15:33Z

wow the pixel art work done here is incredible! I really like the blurred out background, it had that tilt shift photography feel, that's a really nice touch. I think the description of what the cards was just a tad hard to read, especially since it's on the right side, but there was so much information in the middle (timing, cards..) Maybe some time before the time started to get to know those cards would be helpful! Really cool game :D

EVERY TIME YOU BLINK by robobarbie 2022-10-06T07:42:07Z

wow.. so much raw emotion packed into this game jam game. the writing was incredible, the puzzles themselves also helped with the mood, and the mechanic also puts you in a similar mentality with the character. At first I was a little taken back by the constant flashing, 10 seconds was maybe too short. By the story really got me hooked. Really well done. Also Abel's really hot lmao. Thanks for making such a beautiful story!

Eucalyptus by Coderah 2022-10-04T12:54:44Z

This was such a unique idea, please keep working on it! I didn't really understand what the placeholders were supposed to be, but it made the game more mysterious. I liked how the filter made the game more stylistically similar to those telltale games, but in some scenes it was getting a bit too dark, not sure if that's adjustable. Pickles was so cute! please give pickles lots of treats and love.

Two More Minutes by burrowbling 2022-10-04T00:29:19Z

The idea is so relatable, just two more minutes of sleep please.. I liked the graphics and the jump physics feels good to play. I'm struggling to make it past the higher platform in the first level however, since the camera is locked on the left side and I can't see the rest of the map or enemy (which was on the left side of the hand). I will keep trying!

Quick Quack by theohay 2022-10-04T09:48:56Z

I like how you can manually kill the duck c:<

This game had the better jump physics than most other platformers. great job!

What's Under The Teapot? by thegamearchitect 2022-10-04T11:43:49Z

Hmm, maybe 10 seconds is too long to test short term memory, maybe add more tasks than staring at the teapot to make the game more challenging? or switch up the position of the items to make it more interesting. Overall felt a little slow, but for a solo jam this was some solid effort!

Timeslime by asbjorn 2022-10-06T06:28:07Z

Wow this was hard. The mechanic is really unique and theme-fitting but it felt really difficult to use when the enemies spawns are rng. I feel like with some more level design it'll be a really fun puzzle game. I liked the slime animation tho, it was so minimalistic but you could tell immediately that it was a slime, good frame timings :)

LD54 — Limited Space

Bill's Cave of Numbers by jefvel 2023-10-03T06:37:34Z

I love sudoku so this game was very enjoyable. I do wish that there was more active gameplay when you're outside of the cave rather than just waiting for tiles to drop. it'd be nice if hovering over a number also highlights the same number that's already on the board. Overall this is really polished!

Cubic by Afra Gerami 2023-10-05T02:43:08Z

I liked the minimalistic take you took with this, I wish there were more levels and maybe expand a bit more on what you can do with 2 or 3 circles before adding in more. At some point I felt like I was just doing trial and error but I enjoyed this game a lot!

Botpourri's Space Chase by Antti Haavikko 2023-10-05T00:22:38Z

This was another polished entry as always :D I loved the idea of limited space as in bytes but also space in the way you can get cut off with your own paths. I think it would have been nice if the moves refreshed when I returned to a computer before I expended all of the moves because to me the computers felt like safe havens? but then the bot went all the way back around. There was definitely a point where I felt like the bugs were doing nothing to me because I got all these powerups and then all of the sudden I felt overwhelmed by the sudden increase of the bugs, I'm not sure if it was an rng thing. Overall this was super addicting and polished, it was kinda funny how the music goes out of tune every time you meet another bug.

Fowl Play by Simon Rahnasto 2023-10-08T18:35:24Z

This was such a cute and polished entry down to every single detail. I loved the rhymes and the humour throughout. Great narration, even the ducks' voices had tone in it hahaha. And the ducks holding up the props was just adorable. Some feedback I have would be: - The fight scenes seemed too easy to even be necessary and as a player I wasn't prepared for them by the narrative. - I'd like to see the items again in my inventory just in case I forget what the note said before - personally I don't see the connection to the theme limited space, perhaps it's limited space to investigate? - for the hallway scene, it'd be nice to see which door leads to which room. Actually for all scenes this would be a nice addition I think. - **spoiler** The ending could have been a bit less obvious because one character's confession of getting rid of the weapon was too damning (nice twist tho)

Overall I really enjoyed this entry, a narrative game is a nice break from the other genres.

Seagull Island | L'île aux Goélands by Seb_degraff 2023-10-05T03:22:45Z

this was such a lovely entry, I played for many many times and aimed to build aesthetic towns rather than scoring high! I felt like the art and audio and the game play fit each other perfectly, I especially enjoyed how the music changes as you start to get a higher score. In some runs the rng was reaaaally bad and I had only a few buildable pieces. But in some other runs I felt like I was always getting the ones I wanted haha. It felt a little bad that I had to restart and it would destroy my little town, I wish there was a way to collect them in a little archive :D

Flob the Bloing by Branquelo 2023-10-04T20:28:20Z

omg I love the art in this one! the mechanic reminds me of the celeste one but done in a different way. I think the music was cute, I feel like if it wasn't in such a short loop I'd be jamming to it! I didn't quite catch that you could jump again in the square until I saw the other comments but that made it easier, I think it has to do with the way this mechanic was introduced. But I think the jump felt good which is crucial for a game like this, and once you get the mechanic down, moving through the squares felt satisfying. Again, great art and sound track, good job! p.s. also a webgl build would be nice and maybe moving could be in wasd as well for us 60% keyboard users hehe.

MoveMasters Limited by WilloXs 2023-10-05T01:56:25Z

I think this was a good idea and it was funny too. it reminded me of the password game but this was way less annoying and I thoroughly enjoyed it! nice pixel art too, though I would suggest to put a black overlay behind the instructions bc the white text on the tiles was a bit hard to read. I wish there was some sort of instruction on which ones were the "bigger furniture" and when it counts as seeing or not seeing directly. I'm almost figuring out the last demand and I will continue to try!

Introvertigo by Scott Steffes 2023-10-05T02:34:08Z

Your team never fails to impress! another great and relatable entry and the first dude was soooo creepy omg. I'd love to try the stages I failed again, sometimes it's hard to tell what I'm doing right but that's like real life. I love the art and the audio and the vibes, and I never thought you could incorporate AI like this. I think this is a super innovative take on the theme. Thanks for making it even when it costs money <3

Antigravity Cat Orbs by John Saba 2023-10-05T02:05:28Z

hahaha the meow meows in the audio is so cute and so fitting. I wish there was a bit more depth to the gameplay, perhaps if the player had some sort of magnet, or some way to play around with the gravity. Unfortunately I got some motion sickness from all the spinning but I guess that shows i'm not astronaut material. It was a fun little entry!

Alice : The Wonder Game by telo.philippe 2023-10-04T19:55:27Z

I really enjoyed the route you took with limited space, it reminds me of superliminal in the way your situation changes based on size. Awesome concept! here are some things to in case you want to polish the game:

- I feel like the speed up of the character on the floor felt a bit slippery, that might have to do with the lack of animation as well. - It would be nice to get a hint when you hover over the item in your inventory so you know what it does before you use it, like how you can use the dice and that it's not a consumable like the cookie. - The two keys could use some distinction to help players grasp which door it opens, something simple like the colour of the door and the key could match. - and as others mentioned about the restarting, I don't think it was a big issue until I fell off the table after shrinking a second time. I felt like I wasn't alerted as a player that I couldn't jump on the shelves in the medium size. I think having more feedback on which platform the current size can interact with would be helpful! - lastly it would be nice if the UI of E to interact could change in size when the player changes in size.

Overall I liked the design of the puzzle! I think it was a great take on the theme.

Hank The Busdriver by Helen 2023-10-04T20:12:12Z

This is so morbidly funny the way the bus driver pulls up and there's a swarm of kids just headbutting into the front of the bus HAHAHAHHAHA. and it's honestly terrifying how they just crowd up around you like zombies like the other comment said lol. It was a little bit hard to grasp the goal and the win condition, and the ai pathing could be adjusted to avoid all the visual cluttering on the left. I think with a bit more guidance and clearer win condition this could make a really fun game about counting and reaction speed. I rate it 5/5 on humor and it's nice take on the theme!

Ominos by OgelGames 2023-10-08T18:01:23Z

oh this was so much fun! The puzzles were engaging and easy to understand. I love how you used the same colour in the conditions and for the blocks, it makes it so much easier to know which one's which. It'd be cool if I could see how many blocks I've placed in because sometimes I lost count and the same colour blocks blend together. I think the level progression could pick up faster at the start, or perhaps there could be bonus "4-star" challenges like use only 5 blocks or fill up the entire square. :D Would love to play this on mobile as a full game!

Though I Walk by AdamCYounis 2023-10-04T19:35:24Z

Innovative puzzle design, I liked the concept! Impressive art and mood as always. I encountered a bug the first time I try to claim a soul, where the player gets stuck in animation and is unable to move but the soul animation was still playing.

Clockwork Express by mira 2023-10-05T01:36:42Z

The graphics were great! though I do feel like at times it was lacking some visual clarity in terms of which ones were luggage and which were walls and sometimes the highlighted texts are hard to read even though the colours were used to distinguish them from white. I think at some point I gave up making space and just started to swap the rooms out whenever the other resources were depleted which I don't think was the intended way to play. There were also times when I failed and the restart would take me all the way back to level one, i'm not sure if that's on purpose? The later levels definitely had more challenging levels with really good design. I think overall it just needs a bit of balancing and it would make a fantastic jam game!

Roots, for LD 54 by slimefriend 2023-10-03T07:55:54Z

this is so cute! the resource distribution idea is really cool. It's like stardew but more thinking. I just didn't catch that there wasn't an inventory so buying a second seed would get rid of the first seed you purchased D: I had to restart for that. other than that I loved the animation and the music! well done!

Corridor Duels by nyxkn 2023-10-05T01:15:24Z

I liked the concept and the music. I think the concept was easy to grasp too! I feel like the difficulty could ramp up a little faster with more variation in the terrain or the shape of the corridor to avoid repetitiveness. It was a little hard to tell which enemy I hit and how much hp they have left because the feedback wasn't strong enough. But it felt satisfying once I found the rhythm. Nice work!

Rough Housing by AGK 2023-10-03T07:29:56Z

As a city skyline player, this was super fun! although I find myself not looking at the score calculation, maybe having to do the multiplication in my head before landing the block was a little confusing to me? there were also times when I got 675 population x 1475 happiness = 995620 to reach 800000 on the last turn, but it still says I ran out of turns so I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I'll definitely come back to play it more. well done! :D

Mechanizyn by Lincolnsalles 2023-10-08T07:08:53Z

I think it was a little difficult to get through the first level because I thought you could reach the right tunnel by holding space but I always ran out of energy. Having a restart button would be nice but I also understand the lack of time for a solo project. For the second level I think it was easy enough to understand that the electric wires will kill you so I think you could up the challenge by placing the wires closer to the middle, it'll also make the theme of limited space more obvious :D Great start for a solo run!

SlimeTastic! by Alpha Wolf Studios 2023-10-03T06:44:22Z

I won but I'm confused, could any devs update a how to play or controls please? :)

Downsizer by RyanWoods 2023-10-05T02:02:06Z

we love a well designed visual piece, the typographic details in everything... The way everything is designed, thought through and laid out, and the cover art! I think the game would benefit from a tutorial walkthrough. Great job!

Burn Beetle by Pious 2023-10-08T06:58:53Z

The pixel art was great, and what a cute idea of finding your family! The lighting effect is great too. I think your team made the right call of keeping the scope small because the game feels really polished! Here's a few thoughts I had about the game:

Cherry:

- I felt like the cherry placements could be more purposeful. For example, I think following the trail of cherries shouldn't lead me to a complete dead end. The drops should lead me towards the right path without the players noticing, which can be done by placing them in a triangular pattern. This will make the player feel like they're exploring a rather open space while still having a sense of direction.

- Picking up a cherry while I had full hp/full fire felt unrewarding, but at the same time it didn't make sense to avoid one and try to find my way back to pick it up when I actually need it. I think there could be some sort of bonus for the player if they managed to pick up cherries while being full hp (for example, longer fire range?).

Graphically:

- I think the blue blocks could use an outline to distinguish itself even more from the grass, because the colours are similar rn there might be accessibility issues especially when the tile is in the dark.

- I think the growing grass could have an anticipation frame to warn the player where it is about to grow, so that the player doesn't feel like they lost an hp because of the lack of warning but rather it's their slow reaction.

I was surprised when I finished the game because the objective seemed a little easy. I thought you would have to go find individual members of the family scattered around the forest, and escort them to a safe location! But that's for the future. :D My best record was 0:47, and if the terrain were procedurally randomized I'd be able to try and replay more times. I loved the atmosphere of the forest and it's such a cute ending. I'd love to see a post-jam version!

Loot Goblin by Gustavokado 2023-10-05T00:49:56Z

i liked how you gave the tetris inventory system another layer of playability! the idea of items having characteristics and limitations was smart! I wish that there was a preview of the shape and size of each item so I don't get caught off guard by my decisions. I also kept looking at the most left item as the next one even though there was a big arrow which is my bad. I didn't catch the part where, I could lose by touching the top of the bag which counts as overflowing even though I thought I had more space to the left. I encountered a small bug where things were falling through the bag or falling through other items, I got a screenshot for one time it happened.

Capture.PNG

But I think the game is cute and has big potential, the goblin character art is super charming. I wish the soundtrack would loop because it really helped with the mood :D

HEXAK by Phillip Scott 2023-10-05T01:04:48Z

I thought the game was going to be really fast paced and technological bc of the graphics but it was actually super relaxing and fun! The graphics look super polished and maybe the orange/blue contrast didn't match the meditative music but each thing on their own was great. I didn't understand what the goal of the game is at first but after playing for a while I think I sort of understand. It would be nice to get a mini tutorial that doesn't require the player to read through a whole manual. I liked how every map you get is different. I hope this gets a post jam version and gets expanded in the gameplay!

Pixel Piles by Gabriel Chan 2023-10-02T23:04:52Z

@josep93 @morris @triangle-point @helen Thank you so much for the comment! Thanks for playing :D

@mushboom it's definitely a harder game that takes a while to get good at, even some of our devs are struggling. thanks for trying it!

Pixel Piles by Gabriel Chan 2023-10-03T22:35:25Z

@mrperry Thanks for the feedback!! It was definitely hard to balance between how much platforming or tetris there should be. The next block used to spawn right when the previous block lands (similar to tetris logic) and we delayed it by a second to help with the reaction, but it isn't the first time a player requests more info on when the block is dropping. We'll definitely put that in our list of things to consider!

@nyxkn As someone who struggled to pass the 400 mark I totally agree! It's definitely a challenging game, and I've put down "adjustable difficulties - hard/normal/easy" as a possible feature to consider in the future! Maybe we will be presenting the rotation in a different format. Thanks for playing!!

@100th-coin I'm impressed! you may be one of a few that actually achieved that and I'm jealous. the video feedback is great, it's always helpful to watch someone playtest in real time. I'd also like to thank you for writing the vet advice on discord back in January. That, and your innovation in the past entries inspired me a lot!

@antti-haavikko WOWWW thank you so much for such a detailed comment!! you may be the only one in this comment section so far who has gotten **the mystery achievement and the big one!congrats!** :D As for the hold block, it's definitely a last-minute feature we decided to add just because why not, but it comes with many design flaws. We do have plans to address that later on!

Rotating the blocks being tricky is a common feedback we've been getting so we're trying to figure out a better solution to encourage the players to move and platform while balancing the trickiness of fitting in a block. So far we are trying to emphasize the importance of prioritizing survival over high score.

Our team also had a debate over 3-block jump or 4-block jump, while 3-block jump gives the player decision a bit more depth, it definitely steepened the learning curve. For the slipping it was a conflict between having forgiving hitbox while also maintaining accuracy for position in a terrain with constant high/low. We will continue to adjust that.

And yes, I 1000% agree with you on the next block not actually being the next block, I will report to the devs about that!

It's definitely not the game I'm best at haha but I'm getting lots of joy watching everyone else struggle at it :smirk: But thank you so much! I've been a huge fan of your past entries, so it was really exciting to see your feedback.

Pixel Piles by Gabriel Chan 2023-10-04T19:30:08Z

@fupi thank you so much for the detailed comment! We definitely have some tweaking to do with the layers of mechanics in the game, I've personally felt very defeated when I accidentally rotated the I blocks so I feel that. and omg thanks for the drawing!!!

Card Café by Orionhart 2023-10-03T08:01:48Z

I'm not sure if it's an issue on my end but the itch version sends me directly to the produce shop? After buying items there's nothing else I can do. I'll come back to play this later :D

Limited Grades by Triangle Point 2023-10-04T20:04:50Z

the spoken tutorial was so funny and it was such a genius idea of conducting a quick tutorial! I'm gonna steal that the next time we do a jam hehe. But I also ran into the same issue as some others in that it was a little unclear after the game started what I'm supposed to do, I just randomly got F's here and there. Maybe the tutorial could go a bit longer, it adds to the fun anyways!

Burned Out, Shut In by cawfee_art 2023-10-05T01:41:14Z

Aw this made me feel better in my mental space and honestly gave me motivation to get up and clean my room too! one step at a time right? As a fellow artist it's actually impressive how much you got done with the coding and so much art!!! all by yourself! I think you should feel proud :D I loved the mood and the message you tried to send with this game, I hope to see it finished one day <3

Feng Shui Struggles by Nozomu57 2023-10-05T03:35:30Z

my asian mom would rate this game 10/10. Other than the controls being a little janky I loved the last level, the things we would do to make sure the "money direction" wasn't blocked sometimes haha. I do feel like that level could come before the 4th one though, because it was way easier. I think the gameplay could be elevated if you gave rules about fengshui rather than showing the solution right away, like you could say, the bed has to be in the corner, the desk can't be next to the window and things like that. I think it would make the player think more about it as a puzzle rather than a long chore of moving the furniture around. (although it was really relatable to what happens irl, PIVOT!!)

Room Life by Hinamarina 2023-10-05T02:15:11Z

This was really relatable and vulnerable! I loved every little detail you put into the interaction animation, everything was very believable. The gameplay got a little stale in the middle but I was touched at the end. We all need a friend like Mary! <3 thanks for this game

Pazuru Packing Sushi by Gabreu 2023-10-03T07:11:20Z

this made me crave for some sushi, well done! I wish I could rotate the tempura shrimp vertically rather than just flipping, but other than that it was really relaxing and fun.

Expedition 32 by onionlabs 2023-10-04T20:34:15Z

I love this game, you nailed the mood 100%, there was just enough spook to get my heart racing but also gave me enough space to think. The art and the music worked together perfectly. The puzzle were great, and it's on point for the theme. If I had to nitpick it'd be that the character didn't have a shadow which was a little off putting when the other lighting elements were rendered well, but hey maybe that's the point! I really enjoyed this one, congrats!

Claustrorush by Neon Kuroasa 2023-10-05T02:49:36Z

This was so cool, the graphics and the music really fit the fast paced gameplay. I love this take on the theme and the double use of the walls closing in but also lending a surface to jump on is so genius. I'd love to see a bit more tutorial and some sort of indicator that I could do wall jump because it took me a second to get that. I couldn't figure out the best way to use my dash because it felt like I didn't need it for an upward movement focused game? but maybe I need to play a bit more to figure that out! great entry!

Tower Swap - A Card TD Game by Jeldrik 2023-10-04T20:00:49Z

Aw I really wanted to try this game but I think the UI might be bugged? I couldn't drag the cards unfortunately. here's the screenshot of the game, on the top right I assume you had buttons but they loaded as white squares. It might be a web version issue? I will come back and play it later if it's fixed :D Capture.PNG

LD56 — Tiny Creatures

Blobbies by tuism 2024-10-08T03:30:08Z

it was super chill at first and I almost thought it was too easy, but it quickly started to build up. Really fun entry! Found out that I could throw them out from the side too if one of them really annoyed me >:)

TINY PACK by xk_the_name 2024-10-08T03:02:05Z

Really interesting concept. It would be cool to see a library of all the different creatures and what they do!

Fluto by pataya 2024-10-08T01:05:45Z

This is super cute, I love the way the graphics is polished without being overwhelming. I wish the map was bigger or maybe even procedurally generated. Would love to see a post-jam version of the game with even more structures

Hamster Hamilton's Cardboard Quest by Yaen 2024-10-08T03:58:44Z

As a new hamster owner, this is so real, they are absolutely adorable and so blind at the same time! :D

Super cute art and idea :) I noticed that you can technically miss click outside of the map and drop the treat out of the map which was a little frustrating (I think partially because the square indicating where you're placing is slightly misleading since you can actually place the treat anywhere inside the square). Other than that, great entry!

Wink and the Fae by Pious 2024-10-08T03:37:38Z

Love the art! Is there a full screen button? would love to see it on big screen.

I wish that having a line of friends behind me would give me some sort of bonus effect so that the player would have to make a choice between keeping them behind the player or sending them back to the safe zone :)

Please Find Them by AdamLenglen 2024-10-08T03:51:32Z

The art is super polished, the voice acting cracked me up! I will finish the puzzles once I have more time, ADHD + ESL can't read ; ; But a really cool idea!!

Hamster Shelter by Doonutsaur 2024-10-08T03:22:49Z

Love this game, could totally see it working as a mobile idle game. Love the art as well, music is great too! The controls being all on the mouse threw me off a little at first but I quickly got used to it thanks to the clarity in UI and feedback visually and audibly.

Let's eat Grandma. by Yoav Kagan 2024-10-08T04:02:17Z

This is such a fun idea, love the little sounds and voices coming from our little guy. I think it'd be great to be able to see the last parabola you fired at so you can make small adjustments :)
