Fun little game :) Nice and easy to understand and with a really fitting art style. One thing to think about is that after I'd gotten in all the rooms I could fit initially I only really had to swap out my rooms once on each level and then sit back and wait. If the resource bars drained slightly quicker or at significantly different rates it might encourage the swapping in-out and moving around of all the rooms consistently throughout a level and keep the player on their toes.

quandtuniverse 2023-10-03 03:37

Cool concept with fantastic graphics and theming. One problem happened when I failed the first level and everything just kind of hung up, I had to refresh the browser and start over. I also think the highlight text color for "cargo" and "rooms" is really hard to see against the background, especially the purple "cargo" text, and kind of achieves the opposite of a highlight. It might help to choose a different color, or put a border outline to help it stand out! Other than that, visually it looks fantastic. With a little smoothing out of the controls for picking things up and setting them aside, it would be fun to play for a long time.

mcbombadev 2023-10-03 05:12

A fellow 'Clockwork' game! (Ours is Clockwork Tower) :)

The art in this is really nice. Lots of detail in the different cargo rooms you can add. Nicely done.

However, I couldn't figure out level 3 after several tries. But then again, I am very bad at organization-type games!

portalis 2023-10-03 10:52

It's just amazing! I'd really like to know more about game lore and backstory

lespaul59 2023-10-03 12:11

Nice game, really enjoyed it. Great graphics and overall mood. Great Job!

anirbas 2023-10-03 15:34

A very polished game, The art is amazing, and very nice concept. Nice job!

ryzhovalex 2023-10-03 19:08

Polished, attracting game. Very interesting. Maybe the best i've seen on the jam so far.

itisjoy 2023-10-03 19:09

The art style is really good and it is really a fun game. It also fits the theme greatly. I really enjoyed playing it. :)

arzi 2023-10-03 19:34

The tutorial made it sound more complicated than it was - more like a management game. But definitely a great little puzzle with amazing art and, well, can't say no to steampunk!

hofendrior 2023-10-03 19:36

Very nice game! It has excellent graphics and great use of the theme. The music is really fitting and, together with the story, sets the mood very well. It's pretty challenging as well, without being neither too long or too hard.

I'd have loved a slightly more rewarding ending, and the "resource low"-voice was perhaps a bit too mumbled (was it "gosh"?), but otherwise this was hands down the best game I've stumbled upon yet =)

anton4ik-dev 2023-10-03 20:21

Beautiful, interesting and good mood. I like it

kinami 2023-10-03 22:06

Nice game! 😄

The artstyle and the theme fit the gameplay well! I feel like it became a little too hectic around the end, where I had to click and drag lots of rooms, while still trying to free up space with the cargo.

A very fun challenge! 😃

janinna21 2023-10-03 22:23

First off, the art style? Chef's kiss. It melds seamlessly with the game's theme, making the gameplay feel like a beautiful dance of pixels on my screen. The way you've captured the essence of the Ludum Dare spirit with your creative touch is truly remarkable. đŸŽ¨đŸ•šī¸

But, oh boy! As the challenge ramped up towards the end, I felt like I was trying to juggle flaming torches while riding a unicycle! 😅 Balancing the act of clicking and dragging rooms, and simultaneously finding spots for that ever-increasing cargo? Pure adrenaline! A little chaotic, but in the best kind of way.

Maybe, just maybe, a smidgeon of breathing space in between those frantic moments could be the cherry on top? It's like being in a dance-off – sometimes you wanna bust a move, but other times you just wanna groove. 😜

All in all, a thrilling challenge that kept me on my toes (and fingers!). Massive thumbs up for serving this delightful gaming cocktail!

chompdev 2023-10-03 23:39

Fantastic pixel art and puzzle gameplay! The puzzle pieces being actual rooms that perform functions for the passengers is such a cool concept, and I bet you could turn this into a really interesting full game :)

steamhat 2023-10-04 08:03

Cute little game with solid gameplay, the in world themes feel a little at odds with the payoffs of the actual gameplay, but the mechanics are solid and the art looks crisp and lovely, if a little noisy.

the purple used for "Cargo" doesn't read in the text boxes, and speaking of text boxes, this game is exceptionally wordy for a very simple task, the actual gameplay takes a shorter amount of time than listening to the very chatty captain. Editting down to the minimum needs would go a long way (this is mostly felt in a new game situation)

crylica 2023-10-04 11:41

The art style is beautiful! I'm really impressed at all the animations, and even the unique pixel art font. It definitely gets difficult juggling all those rooms and the cargo. I think I'm a bit of a slow player so maybe an easy mode or "slow time" mechanic as a clutch save ability would be helpful for new players. This is really polished for a game jam, good job!

byzilio 2023-10-04 14:53

AMAZING!

100th-coin 2023-10-04 15:23

I'm a huge fan of steampunk aesthetics, and you did a great job with it. The puzzles were well made and difficult to manage, and I really enjoyed the final level's difficulty. It had me for a while, but I beat it!

Puzzle games are hard to provide feedback with words, I think what you're really looking for is knowing exactly how well the difficulty curve was balanced, and where players got stuck, so here' a recording of me playing the game!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5inNp5g9sRo

vrerabek 2023-10-04 17:09

wow, @100th-Coin, that's an incredible feedback. Thank you for taking your time to record it.

anper 2023-10-04 17:59

Cool artwork but gameplay is not very interesting

svenerik 2023-10-04 19:02

Very neat work, polished in all ways. I love the aesthetic and the pixel art there, splendid work! Airship Tetris is quite the fun and I can see ways to expand it even further, great idea! My only gripe was that the pacing was a bit slow for me, but probably it is because I've played too much tetris or something like that hah.

Marvelous work!

mary-orlova 2023-10-04 19:04

Cool game :3

sebi 2023-10-04 19:33

Great work on the graphics and audio! With little polishing it could just be a full title

cawfee-art 2023-10-04 20:19

This was really nice and the graphics were great!

lincolnsalles 2023-10-04 20:26

The graphics and sound are very good. I'm terrible and I only managed to get to the second phase. With more effort I could go further. The idea is great and fits perfectly with the theme. Perhaps the highest rating I've given so far.

pichiiparu 2023-10-04 20:31

Such an innovative game! I love the twist with the tetris concept, and it was very well implemented! Additionally, the art and the audio truly bring the atmosphere to life, so incredible job! The game truly seems so polished for being made in such a short amount of time, so kudos to the dev team!

okshirl 2023-10-05 01:36

The graphics were great! though I do feel like at times it was lacking some visual clarity in terms of which ones were luggage and which were walls and sometimes the highlighted texts are hard to read even though the colours were used to distinguish them from white. I think at some point I gave up making space and just started to swap the rooms out whenever the other resources were depleted which I don't think was the intended way to play. There were also times when I failed and the restart would take me all the way back to level one, i'm not sure if that's on purpose? The later levels definitely had more challenging levels with really good design. I think overall it just needs a bit of balancing and it would make a fantastic jam game!

zeit 2023-10-05 02:48

It is a very fun game, I can see how the theme and gameplay combine well together! The art is also interesting!

somewan 2023-10-05 06:36

I really love the art style of the game. The creativity is also impressive and fits the theme very well. However, I wonder why the rooms cannot rotate? It might be even more enjoyable if they could rotate.

nilan 2023-10-05 07:50

This is so much fun, like a sliding puzzles game. I really like the graphics and musics.

raassh23 2023-10-05 08:30

It's so fun, really fits the theme too, good job!

nardandas 2023-10-05 09:25

Woah, what a cool game. I played this on stream, don't let the first handful of levels decieve you! The end of the game is almost an entirely different game. It's second-to-secondresource management and it's awesome. The only bit of criticism I have for this thing is that the click-drag-drop is a bit finnicky sometimes. With that fixed this would be 100% great!

digital-bacon 2023-10-05 09:37

Beautiful game! Love the art style and sound. Gameplay is an interesting take on the theme. Excellent work!

dodoita 2023-10-05 10:15

Honestly can't think of any negatives, if not for the drag and drop being a bit funky sometimes. Otherwise gameplay is fun, level design is very clever (I got to level 10), graphics and audio are top notch. Really good entry.

hagamosvideojuegos 2023-10-05 12:55

I love the ambient, the graphics, the columns like music, mechanics...

Well done! Take a candy! :candy:

firellon 2023-10-05 17:22

Excellent production value!

I found it tough to not be able to pause the game and redistribute cargo momentarily rather than have to do it on the fly, but I guess, that's part of the challenge

shmi 2023-10-05 22:22

Pretty fun game, bit stressful getting thing in and keeping an eye on the levels of everything. Loved the challenge.

gaer 2023-10-05 23:41

Well done! I reached level 7 and the difficulty is for sure ramping up! I thought the tutorial was a bit too long, the gameplay ended up more intuitive that it seems. The theme is spot on tho!

jaydex 2023-10-06 00:19

Entertaining and stressful game ;) It's pretty hard to manage with all the needs to satisfy (I finished level 7). The "caution" audio line was helpful but it should also state what's the problem. I had no time to always observe the bars; I needed all my brain to play the tetris... The color coding of the rooms is good but I think it would have helped me to see the room icons also when "parked" in the left side bar.

The jam's theme is perfectly set on stage. The art is beautiful and the game was fun. Good job!

deltamain 2023-10-06 10:51

Funny and polished game that interprets theme perfectly! This is one of my favourite games out here!

laserpanzerwal 2023-10-06 10:59

Very nice looking, easy to understand and theme fitting game. Only remark I actually have is that it got repetetive after a few levels. Good job!

nikaz 2023-10-06 12:53

Fun game! I like that the rooms need to be put in such a way that they can then be quickly replaced for resource management. Nice visual. Good job!

willoxs 2023-10-06 14:45

That had a very unexpected dynamic. I was not terribly impressed at first. "Well it's just a reskinned tile fitting game but even easier as you can just leave tiles out and win anyway". But after a few levels it got to the point were the puzzle became not how to fit the tiles but where to fit them and which ones to alternate. That was pretty cool and i like the narrative aspect - that must have taken some time to add.

Two quality of life features that would be great if you do a post jam version would be:

- An unobstructed view of the level before the journey starts.

- A slowdown when dragging tiles (to relief some of the stress and misclicks resulting from it).

Of course the artwork is beautiful and the tunes are great too. I think it notices when your about to run out and plays the "didididi didididi" soundtrack? If so, great touch!

I really have nothing bad to say - well done!

ottos 2023-10-06 23:07

What a well made game! It seems it's had a lot of work put on! It has an interesting gameplay, great art, music and so on! It feels like a finished and polished project!! It's also a really challenging one in my opinion, I'm so slow I failed the very first level lots of times. After the getting the hang of it it was much easier on the next ones, but the 4th one yeahhhh. I am really slow on both thinking, managing and moving my mouse ;w; i wish it was at least somewhat slower

Other than that it's a great game!! You really should be proud of it, it really is a really good one! I hope you do best!!

jerripo 2023-10-07 03:40

This game was super fun!!

olddog 2023-10-07 08:53

nice game idea, get boring after few levels ,but still a good game ,good job !

nash 2023-10-07 09:15

Very solid game!

The puzzle aspect gets lost a bit when most levels are solved in a same manner. You just put one element there permanently and swap other until the timer runs out.

Extra props for the music. It has a neat retro feeling to it - almost reminds me of Roland MT-32 which I had when I was a kid.

Thanks for the game! Awesome entry!

bloham 2023-10-07 09:29

The games art style is something I truly adore. The creativity aligns perfectly with the theme. Nevertheless, I can't help but wonder why the items aren't able to rotate.

dining-philosopher 2023-10-07 09:40

Ooof, hard! Made it to level 5, it took me a while to figure out that I didn't have to solve the level before the ship reached the end, but had to hold out until then - which I think is a great mechanic.

One thing that would be nice is to clearly indicate which blocks must stay in the ship, and which ones the player can swap out. Also, being able to unload a block with right click, and possibly having a panic-key to unload everything would be nice.

crygos 2023-10-07 10:43

Easy to understand and I really like the art style. Well done.

lucydango 2023-10-07 11:11

Uses the theme very well. I think my brain is too small to get that far in this game but I can tell it's excellent! The art as well is spectacular for such a short deadline!!!

danyclockworker 2023-10-07 20:30

Such a fun game, the mechanics are great!

fabula-rasa 2023-10-07 23:07

Fantastic aesthetics and so many awesome assets done in such a short time! You guys rock  The music and sfx were also great and very fitting. The whole atmosphere was really perfect.

Core gameplay is nice and gets really hectic on the higher levels, as you frantically swap the rooms around. If I had a penny for every time I wished I could rotate

Very well-made game and fun to play. Kudos!

2thegamechanger 2023-10-08 14:29

I really love your art style, reminds me a lot of stardew valley. I found the leves a bit hard to start with but well done!

neowedge 2023-10-08 14:38

Interesting and un puzle game, great entry!

zimny11 2023-10-09 19:23

Great game! It got way more intense than I expected :D The art style is really nice and clean. Good job with the game!

ruslana 2023-10-09 20:12

Great concept! I like the setting, mechanics and art!

lelulagames 2023-10-10 03:13

That was a challenge. I loved the graphics, and theme of the game. It got pretty challenging on the third one so I didn't complete it, but I could see myself coming back at some point to try again.

ciaranw 2023-10-10 23:06

First of all, the tutorial was really great at easing you into the game - well done on getting that in for a jam! I thought the level progression was very nicely done. The visuals and music went very well together, and I very much like the style - feels very polished. At times it was very tense, swapping different modules in to try squeeze to the end of the level, it was fun! I couldn't manage to get past level 8 though, the higher speed combined with the difficult level shape pushed me over the edge, and I couldn't get it after a few retries. Considering how many 'fit these shapes into the box' games there were this jam, I think you did a really good job of making this one stand out from the crowd, it feels really unique!

Edit: I came back to it and beat level 8! :tada:

annoyed-galaxy 2023-10-11 16:57

That was very stressful but amazing to the theme! I really liked the artstyle and like the mix of Tetrising the cargo and rooms together while also managing your crew's stats. Super fun!

ausstein 2023-10-12 10:53

Really really cool game, very well polished!!

Minor point of critique: sometimes the dragging felt a bit off. It did not place the tiles where I wanted it to. I think the point where the pieces are relative to the mouse coursor is pre defined and not the point where it is actually clicked. As long as the game is slow-paced, this is not an issue as the ghost blocks show exactly where the block will be placed. However, once it gets faster, there is no time to watch for the ghost block. At that point intuitevly you just move the mouse to where you want to place the particle. Now if the pickup point is pre-defined and not where the mouse is actually clicked, this feels off. and you don't place the blocks where you actually wanted to place them.

This was especially frustrating on the final level.

Other than that, I really enjoyed it a lot. I had to play with muted audio since I played this at work. This means I wont be rating audio and mood but I probably will do that when I can play this with audio from home :)

donvermo 2023-10-12 17:59

Amazingly fun game by being creative with a pretty simple mechanic. The only thing I had frustratingly hoped for was the ability to be able to rotate the pieces to find more ways to fit certain components in the ship. Continuously having to swap out components got pretty hectic when it required moving multiple pieces around.

Loved the overall mood and style of the game though. Good job!

petunio 2023-10-13 03:12

I absolutely loved the graphic style, but I could not figure out how to play this. I feel it could use at least one very simple level to show the player how the game works as I feel the components are there, it just needs a more accessible tutorial.

evilmurlock 2023-10-13 16:13

Good game, really nice graphics, cool how to balance the bars you have to keep sorting the space to fit the rooms you need now. Couldnt get past the final level, that one was really hard. Nice game

cheesepencil 2023-10-13 18:42

Oh, this is so polished!! I didn't get very far because I couldn't figure out how to rotate the rooms and kept running out of time, but the sounds is good and it looks great.

It looks like the character sprite is stretched out vertically in the game, but has square pixels in the art on the itch page. Was that a deliberate design decision?

Screenshot 2023-10-13 144202.png

sergio-nikol 2023-10-14 09:27

Nice game. Graphic style is great. But how can I rotate blocks?

agraffs 2023-10-14 14:21

A very nice puzzle game ! It was nice having to manage all the pieces together to go further in the game. The idea of having to switch places for the items was nice. Graphics are also super cool ! I could nitpick by saying that some of the text in color is not always fully visible.. But I'd be nitpicking. That entry is really good. Very well done !

kleinzach 2023-10-15 15:41

I like the concept, and the art was really well done. I personally am not a huge fan of "plate spinning"/managing decreasing bars as a mechanic. Organizing the airship like a Resident Evil inventory was fun, but I don't think the timing mechanics added to the experience. Regardless, this was really well put together. Good job!

austin-szema 2023-10-16 15:26

Super well polished for a game jam, it's actually pretty insane how well polished the game is. Good take on the theme and lots of very nice artwork
