LD42 — Running out of space

CRAMMM: Totally Accurate Studying Simulator by tuism 2018-08-14T01:08:15Z

Lmao this game is great. It's gorgeous, clever, and a decent sound track. Although it's true that not knowing the right word is a bit frustrating, I think it's kind of funny to see a word pop up and be like "wait Roy IS a video game, rick and morty told me so! Wait what if Farmer is a video game?...what am I saying. Ok Kideo obviously is - oh". What do blue words mean?

What did you use to draw it btw? Did I mention that it's gorgeous?

Huke by Hegemege 2018-08-14T00:46:51Z

This game is incredibly fun, and the mechanics felt like I was in VR. Swinging is a bit tricky but I guess that comes with the game. It's cute how the blue balls sound omnious when there's a lot of them bouncing around; unexpectedly adds to the mood. Such a good piece!

Acropolution by Chronodrax 2018-08-14T03:59:50Z

This is a really fun game, even playing against myself! The graphics look really good, and the game is easy to pick up. I really enjoyed the gameplay, however I have one problem: if player 2 copies everything player 1 does, or moves even remotely similarly, player 1 will lose first because once they run out of room, player 2 will have one less pollution than player 1 (since player 1 goes first, and so they lose first).

I had fun playing it though, and I really enjoy the graphics. The music was relaxing and fit well too. This fits the theme perfectly and was pretty innovative as well. Great game!

Deluge of Doom by deathray 2018-08-14T03:43:33Z

This game was fun while it lasted. Once I realized you could move the game, and I turned off all the coal factories, the game was basically over. You win by not playing :( Also, I may be missing it completely, but I don't see where the number of boxes you have is. Like I was able to purchase and build things when my boxes said "0/0". I like the idea of the game though.

By the way, what benefits are there to increasing happiness and housing if you win regardless, once pollution is cleaned up?

Flesh Packer by nervous-composers 2018-08-18T23:26:14Z

Everything about this game was a 10/10. A premise, a satisfying ending, and a hilarious delivery. The art is so simple but fits perfectly. I laughed out loud quite a few times. All the beginning steps I got on my first try, so naturally, I think the game is clever ;) Even the music gave us a sense of lighthearted urgency - made me check halfway if there was a timer. I can't wait to see the extended version. I love point and clicks.

The TV Install Man by doomshmuck 2018-08-14T02:37:54Z

Maybe you have the game set to private instead of public on itchio.

Better Than Thanos by Vekstr 2018-08-18T23:37:53Z

Why would anyone choose a smaller brush size? This was actually a lot of fun, I replayed it at least 6 times trying to beat my own score. It was satisfying cleaning off the sphere. Imagine how satisfying this would be if it was pimples on a face. Took me a while to get used to the controls but, I guess it would be far too easy otherwise. Love the low poly graphics, and the intense pumping music. Fun game!

Zachary's Memory by namnam 2018-08-15T19:15:54Z

I really like the concept and I played through twice. I didn't figure out how sorting worked until the end of my first play through, so I think a tutorial (even just in the description here) would be good. And maybe even some hints about what the categories should be.

The art and music compliment each other perfectly and really sets an ambient mood. This is one of the most beautiful interpretations of the theme I've seen so far.

Disk Allocation: Typing Spectacular by electr1ca 2018-08-15T15:42:57Z

I really liked the graphics and animation, and the sound effects fit nicely. Having 3 chars to choose from made it feel really done. I wish the could do damage whenever you typed and you didn't have to wait for your character to finish taking damage/AI to do its turn. That way, faster typers could do more damage. More variety in text would also be nice, but this is a solid game overall!

Avarus by jeplmr 2018-08-25T19:26:54Z

I can't click and drag the pieces after a few seconds (I've refreshed 3 times, on newgrounds and itchio). I watched all the videos and read all he comments here, and I feel like it must be a bug? The controls are just click and drag, right? It worked the first time, but afterwards, the mouse kept changing to a circle with a bar across (the no smoking sign, without the cigarette). Also, when the dragging was working (the fist time I tried), I dragged the red-green coin to the green-red coin, and it didn't do anything? Clicking to make more coins of equal value works though.

Please let me know, this game seems very fun and I can't wait to play it.

Dictable by ThePoulpator 2018-08-15T22:57:26Z

I loled hard at the 3rd cat that fell. I won my second attempt without any glue! Somehow the cats made great walls. What a fun game. The voices cracked me up, and I loved the cough at the end, after the credits. It's true that the audio when things were falling sounded really rough, but I really liked the music, especially at the end. It was really fun, good game!!

Line 42: Space Subway by isubka 2018-08-25T21:04:33Z

Wow straight 5s. What an addicting strategy game! It's so replayable! The graphics are amazing, and it's such an innovative use of the theme - with you having to choose whose lives matter more (who gets to be happy vs who gets eaten).

Are there any consequence to letting aliens get eaten? I feel like there's no downside to killing off passengers that have high stop numbers.

And I don't know if this is an oversight/bug or if it's intentional, but if I move someone near a 1 mindcontroller, then move the mindcontroller away, the first alien keeps the 1 (see image, where I made everyone a 1, except the 4, who was the last placed guy).space.PNG

Although, they didn't all disappear at the stop. The ones that did disappear were the ones I faked out using the trick above. space2.PNG

It's a great thing that you removed the seating timer or else I think it would be way too stressful when there's already quite a bit of thinking needed.

I just read the comment above about how the eaters don't eat the big alien? That's interesting, and I didn't pick up on it. I guess it's true that there are a few things you discover only while playing, but I don't think that's a bad thing. I had a lot of fun, great game.

Smoke: it's ok to feel by Lumpy 2018-08-18T20:47:48Z

Really beautiful graphics, and thanks for sharing about Dan Fesslers HD painting strategy. The mood was really good with the music and sound effects. I wish there were different endings based on your choices. If the player can't impact the game in any way, it feels more like an interactive movie than a game. I really enjoyed the dialogue though, it was a downer but made me feel for Smoke. Lol at the theme intepretation. Clever.

Damage Control by nolanfa 2018-08-15T20:03:35Z

I love balancing games like this. However, some things were unclear. I didn't really understand how the gun and radio worked. I thought the gun+humans killed birds? But if that's the case, it was far too slow. The birds got a bit hard to see too since they're dark and the ground is dark. I played it 3 times and don't understand how the island keeps getting over-run with foxes. The only way I was able to clear them was by starving them. The hawks eat foxes right?

Also, do hawks eat rabbits and cats too? I noticed when I only had birds and rabbits+cat, the rabbits+cat died.

Chinese astronaut by Enot487 2018-08-16T21:52:21Z

The game itself is very simple, but the story makes it interesting to play and look at!

It would also be good to have less health, but instead, have some health packs that appear along the way. I notice I don't start worrying about his health at the start since there's so much health, and the rockets come so slowly. But once it picks up, the health starts draining fast, and obstacles become harder and harder to avoid.

I liked it, good game.

Crumbling Dungeon by JSMCAG 2018-08-13T16:58:11Z

What a great story to have for your game! The graphics are beautiful, and the simple mechanic makes the game very replayable. Good call letting us skip the story at the start. I also get stuck after getting that first key though. The theme is perfect, of course.

20000 Leaks Under the Sea by webthingee 2018-08-14T01:32:12Z

I played it 3-4 times and it was fun the whole time. I don't know if it got patched or something, because I did not have trouble with holes appearing too frequently at all. The graphics are beautiful, and really set the mood. The controls were smooth and it was easy to figure out how to play. A great game!

Noninterferance by Dumivid 2018-08-15T20:19:08Z

I smiled when I saw your preview image for the game. I love the concept and the art really drives it home. I played it twice and then let it just run the 3rd time so I could read what they were saying. I think the pink, orange text is too dark to see (could only read them after they slowed down and near me), and the text in general is a wee bit too small considering the speed they're going (didn't get a chance to the see the last dark red person's message at all). It's a great idea to have kept your game short (something I should keep in mind myself, when the next LD rolls around). Replaying games is way more fun than struggling through them.

Thanks for sharing this game, I enjoyed it.

Chill Daddy by guilhermesouza 2018-08-18T23:47:09Z

Whoa the ending scene was so beautiful! Felt so rewarding (unlike ours)! Short games like this are perfect for LD since it seems like the general attention span is around 1 level. The graphics were very pretty and the orca scene felt intense. Glad I remembered the boost thing. I liked that you guys had a narrative - it enriched the game a lot.

The Subway: horror within by Bibilega 2018-08-19T00:18:23Z

I appreciate how short the game is. The art is phenomenal. The X button doesn't work. I love the concept and mechanics, and wish it will be longer/ramps up in difficulty post-dare (eg. after the timer ends, you get off where you want to go and take a transfer bus). I also like the hints that you're a demon and how you low-key kill everyone on a rage. Great entry!

Too Close by Zayah0_0 2018-08-15T01:38:44Z

This game was fun! The red frame really added to the mood, and made me panic. I liked the idea of running out of personal room. Good work! Small bug: After you beat the game, it goes back to the main screen, but your character is still there and can move.

I'm B'walkin' Here! by Ziamor 2018-08-14T01:20:01Z

What a great iteration of that joke, I actually laughed when I started. The graphics are beautiful, there's an actual soundtrack, this is a neat take on the theme, and the gameplay is so fun. This is the first game I gave straight 10s to. I love it.

I loled again when the idiot was intentionally blocking my way. So relatable irl. (How can stationary car kill me though! also I wish I could push those idiots into traffic)

Snobs like it clean! by GentlemenTeaparty 2018-08-15T23:57:55Z

This was extremely fun and I still can't stop playing. The graphics are good, and the music never gets annoying somehow. The picking up sound effect wasn't great, but the controls were so smooth.

Notes: - all the controls being on one side/hand is a little bit taxing - reset button needs to not be so close to the most used button (E). - ending screen shouldn't be swiped away with "any key" because I hadn't noticed I lost and clicked away the message before I got to see how many generations I lasted. - the devil's (2) upgrade needs to be changed to making the snob hit an extra time on each monster. This would slow down the timer, essentially. This seems fair considering the price tag and description. As it is now, you're just paying a load of money to make the timer go faster against yourself (he still one-shots, but now there's MORE than before, making it messier, faster), with no way to buffer it. It's just a huge, expensive debuff.

I'm only being so nitpicky because it was such a good game and I want to play more.

I'm hope you make an extended version of this, with more upgrades - like speed, faster cremation, super expensive second ladder, etc. Fantastic game, I thoroughly enjoyed it! Please, please make this a bigger game. I need it. 41.PNG

PhoneBreaker by Daniel Rincon 2018-08-25T19:50:11Z

The sound effects made it soo addicting. It was the perfect amount of stressful. So is there an ending where you get a phone? Or do you just lose either way? The graphics are actually beautiful for the phone and background (ignoring the silly icons ofc), and it added a lot to the final look. This was genuinely thrilling to play.

I can see this game easily being built upon (in the future) where you can't delete the posts of the girl too frequently, for example. Or just having levels where you keep get better phones, like someone above suggested, or enter diff stages of life and so need to be more careful/specific about frequency of deletions.

No Space In My Stomach by Roman Petrov 2018-08-16T23:03:40Z

The graphics are absolutely beautiful.

Since pills of the same color erase different platforms, you need to restart a few times in order to figure out which exact pill erases which platforms. The prob is that the character moves so slowly, redo-ing feels long. Maybe I'm just being impatient.

I liked the level names and I enjoyed the game.

The Curse by jiukka 2018-08-15T02:18:55Z

This game is my favorite kind of puzzle game. A small bug: after restarting a bunch of times, every time I would go left of the fire, my character instantly appears on the other side of the first pit. At first, not a big deal other than being slightly disorienting for a second. Except that normally you can't fall into pits, but in this case, I could walk right in and then get stuck in the pit (so need a restart button, or a bug fix).

I enjoyed it a lot, and would love to play more/an extended version.

Oniria Times by 0nironauta 2018-08-15T19:48:01Z

Wow what a great piece! I was so engaged, I played through 3 times. Loved the stories. I still didn't manage to solve the arena thief mystery unfortunately. The graphics and animation were so clean and satisfying. I loved seeing the published article as if I had actually made it myself. Great fun, 5s all around.

Lest mynyt vacation by Akaneiro 2018-08-13T16:41:18Z

The graphics are really nice and fit the mood well! And naturally the theme fits perfectly. The music was charming except when it ended abruptly.

It would be awesome if, later, you made it so that it saved your highest score under each of the difficulties.

This is a fantastic example of a simple game executed well! Good work.

Flash Flush by BustosMan 2018-08-14T04:07:41Z

Hahawhen I saw the cheese in the screenshot, I thought the character would be a mouse - but it's a block :') The setting is funny and the controls are intuitive.

Flood Of Pirates by Stefan Jovanovic 2018-08-19T00:02:13Z

Lol at first I thought the controls were space, mouse, and ONLY arrow keys to move...I was like I don't have 3 hands. But WASD and space was manageable though. The graphics are fantastic. It got hard pretty fast, as you said, but I feel the gameplay would be more fun if I could one-shot enemies, especially at the start (or diff types of enemies). Because chasing them down is really the heart of this game of tag anyways, right? And the one-shotting power trip would just be so satisfying.

Growth Rates by kalcoslinder 2018-08-14T02:50:54Z

Wow, this was unexpectedly clever! When it first opened, I heavily questioned how good the game was going to be, but this is by far one of my favorite game mechanics I've seen so far! It fits the theme perfectly, and the idea is sublime. I was shook. 5 stars all around.

Tale of the Bagger: A Love Story by trozen 2018-08-15T02:38:14Z

Incredibly fun! Loved that that the bag turns red when you're about to make a mistake, and the level select feature. The music and sound effects were really nice, and the graphics are so crisp and pretty.

I loled when I saw the customer flipping in the background. Great game. Gave you straight 5s.

Plant's Conquest by Sam Estep 2018-08-15T02:57:54Z

I'm glad I beat it, but I feel like I did it kind of randomly, so it's not really satisfying. As others already said, I think it would be good if you made it clearer what was happening. It seems like it could be fun. I think it may just because you ran out of time though. Can't wait to see the game after the dare!

Pathcloser by Suchista 2018-08-16T23:23:14Z

Wow. Great game. I didn't expect to like it as much as I did. 'you ded' actually made me lol each time. I'm too simple. The graphics were charming, and I actually really liked the music. Winning made me feel good :^) I had fun.

I think the level I felt the most clever for was the one big empty room with 1 baddie, 1 button, and 2 boxes blocking the exit. I insisted on doing it through trial and error instead of counting, so beating it was sweet.

CheatDay by Stames 2018-08-15T20:32:53Z

Don't step in your own poop LOL this game was funny and I love the graphics! Great work! I think this is the first 5 stars I gave in humour. It's actually a pretty innovative idea too, haven't seen it yet.

WearOut by Abhis1Kadian 2018-08-25T21:17:20Z

The story was very funny. Does the quit button on the start menu not do anything?

At first, I kept running out of health too fast, but I realized that's cuz I tried moving. If you stand in place and keep kicking, your score just keeps going up, even without hitting a red guy, and it becomes like a clicker game. kick.PNG

I really appreciated that the water and clouds were animated, and the storyline. Good game!

stROLL by jerripo 2018-08-16T20:54:55Z

Thanks everyone for playing, and your kind words.

@hegemege That's a great point about the higher refresh monitors. And I agree that the death audio is too loud. I plan to tweak collisions a bit after LD. It does bounce off the end of lines incorrectly.

@suve The game is definitely leaning more on the frustrating side, due to the controls, I think. I plan on making the restart button bigger to highlight that it's a key component of the game.

@akaneiro spawning from the sky would get in the way of future levels :) He spawns where the last exist was.

@alex-adedge It's ok. Saints go to heaven.

@suchista I'm shook. You may be the first stranger to beat the game. That makes me really happy! Sorry the end screen is so unsatisfying, I plan on adding counters later on. Thanks for playing it through!!! You did it!! St. Roll loves you.

@dumivid Yes, the controls do need to be looked into and I definitely plan on adding in a nice soundtrack after LD. It's also true that the art style for the hamster, lines, and bg are completely different (bg was painted w PS, lines were programmed in, and the hamster was from paint MS). Sometimes I'm looking at it, I can't help but think a white bg would have fit the lines and hamster better :) I hope to make it more cohesive later on. Thanks so much for the constructive criticism!

YTTRE by Drabbning 2018-08-13T16:26:08Z

This game is actually really fun to play! Good work!

Graphics are nice, but the text at the start is a bit hard to read since it overlaps with the white moon.

Music would definitely enhance the mood. Looking forward to seeing it in the future!

Save Me A Seat by chaitae 2018-08-19T00:29:27Z

So charming and fun! I played it through twice. The graphics fit so well and the gameplay was genius - the ums stressed me our perfectly! Mood was on point. Great entry!

Planterror by Rafig 2018-08-13T23:08:37Z

Wow this is so addicting! The graphics are fantastic, I love the way the plant stretches. The fact the the stretch part gets thinner like rubber is really satisfying. It would be cool if you added a player's highscore for them to see and try to beat. Great fast-paced game with good audio.

Ultimate Question - 42 by Usanio 2018-08-15T02:31:38Z

So simple and addicting! The graphics are so clean, and the sun is beautiful. The full browser game makes it feel really immersive and adds to the mood. Great work here!

Park & Match by Carlos Giraldo 2018-08-25T20:22:18Z

LOL This game is hilarious. I laughed every time something new happened. So many relatable moments. Someone above me mentioned that hitting a car too hard throws it off the road. I'd like to pretend that is strategy for clearing space :) The graphics suit it well, and I actually really like the fact that you can park the car anyways you like and it still counts for full points (mostly it's hard for me to beat the timer before the space even becomes an issue, but also because it makes the whole scene look funnier). Super fun and funny game.

Super Overachiever 42000 Deluxe by suve 2018-08-14T00:58:39Z

I actually found the jumping mechanism fine. The slow falling let me do things like position my char to jump on monsters better and get over gaps - something I appreciate a lot as someone who doesn't usually like platformers. I wish some of achievements were a little clearer, so I can see what I "did right". The achievements can also be a good way to add extra humour, like in the game "Achievement unlocked". The sound effects are nice!

LD43 — Sacrifices must be made

Sons of Vanity by nkrim 2018-12-05T03:14:54Z

The mechanics are simple, and the art is funny and does what it needs to do. The story ties it together perfectly. The game is very elegant in its ensemble. It also fits in the theme nicely because, even though you don't see the other sons being sacrificed, you are sacrificing certain facial features for others.

What I wish for, but know that it was due to time constraints: -more genetic drift as game progresses to amp up the difficulty. I was pretty excited the first time when completely foreign options came up, and I thought it was about to get hard. But then, I easily brought back the forefather's appearance :( Being too easy takes away from any sense of achievement. -counter so I can at least track progress -not super clear what the bar on the top of the game tracks

I also like that it tracks your highscore.

Fun concept, hope to see you expand on it!

really liked the percussion theme to all the player movements

Maw’d Hatter by jerripo 2019-10-08T02:47:49Z

@alexander-crane Thanks for your comment!

For reference, casting spells is left mouse click, and punching is right mouse click. The toggle controls switch between which spell you will cast, not between punch and spells.

@skdf Hello! What operating system are you using?

Maw’d Hatter by jerripo 2019-10-08T17:20:11Z

@skdf Thanks for letting us know. We haven't been able to reproduce this but if we can figure out why it happened to you we'll fix it asap. If anyone else encounters the same issue, please leave us a comment to let us know!

Temptris by Alexander Crane 2019-10-08T00:40:00Z

WOW!! What a clever idea! The game was short and fun. I would like it if the player could move significantly faster, and the timer just be shorter. Such a cool game though, I hope you decide to develop it even more!

Something Special by SKDF 2019-10-08T00:47:42Z

The ending "ding" sound feels good man. Really like the satisfying border color change. It's like slow enough to really sink in, but fast enough that it doesn't interrupt the game.

That bug everyone's mentioning sounds like a dev tool that you forgot to disable. It makes it great though for when I want to skip a level ;)

Hotel Null by AndrewPatton 2019-10-08T05:30:43Z

The Reincarnation by TimoSch 2019-10-08T00:26:56Z

This art and animation is so good!!

For LD players: I thought I was "stuck" too, but it turns out you can break those two square blocks with b! :) And then, just a hint for ppl since I know from experience that I give up on LD games way faster than normal and look for help in comments: after getting the arms, you can continue left.

Very cute that the full human still paws like a cat. However, I'm stuck - when the dog shoots me with laser eyes, I can't walk or do anything (wasd or b). I don't know if this is a bug or just me ([rbably the latter).

The excellent visuals really set the mood!

Sow Happy. by changemewtf 2019-10-08T00:30:08Z

Hello, I'm also having a hard time moving past the inital black screen with red bar. I've tried my best to mash buttons but it never seems to get higher. Is there another way to start the game?

LD46 — Keep it alive

Creature Keeper by akai_0okami 2020-04-21T21:34:33Z

I played this multiple times because I really love pet games, and I wanted to see all the endings. The alien part made me sad too. The humourous bits were really sweet, and I was very sad when he died of hunger by accident. I fed him obsessively the next game. It spooked me when he turned into a teen and his mood was permanently content. The evolutions were nice and they were satisfying. Great game!

Torchkick by Wekaj 2020-04-20T03:18:24Z

This game is LIT (get it??)

Well coded torch kicking mechanic, feels natural and looks good visually. Always nice to be already having a good time just by moving the player around. I think I'd prefer if I could dash in my last moved direction just by tapping shift while immobile, but oh well.

Have you ever played An Untitled Story? The art style on some stuff reminds me of that.

Bait by Jcourt 2020-04-21T22:27:54Z

Love the concept and the story. Loving the whole pacifist dungeon thing. I enjoyed this game a lot, despite not usually playing this genre. I also think it's funny the way the character looks :) In a good way! Great work!

Keep It Alive by danman9914 2020-04-21T19:54:13Z

Ok the first time I tied my shoes, I laughed out loud (5/5 humour). Thought that was such a funny character building thing, but wow when it became an actual task, it was intense!! Such a fun game, left me wanting to play even more. The difficulty was quite easy, but I think that's great for an LD proof of concept game, so that everyone can play and finish it and see the ending. The graphics are perfect and I enjoyed the audio a lot. The world-building was next level, especially for such a short game. The narrator had so much character and the story was so immersive. I had a great time, this is a model LD game.

The Busy Gardener by elektropapst 2020-04-23T00:23:19Z

I couldn't get past score 14 so I guess I might not have figured out the optimal placing strategy. Nonetheless, I enjoyed it while I was playing. The graphics are clear, and the straw hat kind of reminds me of onepiece :-) The music was nice and deceptively relaxing. Great atmosphere.

Gaia by Rodrigo Denúbila 2020-04-22T00:09:02Z

Very fun and hectic. Beautiful graphics and smooth gameplay. The audio is the right amount of chill and up-beatness. Great game!!

Keep it alive by Hexa3 2020-04-29T07:20:08Z

A simple addition that could help a lot is some sort of timer for how long one has kept the flame alive!

Crater Critters by Jimanzium 2020-04-21T20:57:25Z

It got chaotic at the end and I was stressed trying to keep them all fed, but I guess they all get ..."freed" at the end anyways :-) Very cute game, I love these kinds of pet games. The story you spun around it is really sweet too.

The art is incredible, and the title design is stunning too. The music is perfect, and I was completely immersed in the story. I finally got a good ending, and it was completely playing it ~20 times :-) Great entry! I had a lot of fun!

The graphics are fantastic! The idea of multitasking seems fun too. Can't wait to see this post-jam!

This is cool! Hard to make a game like this during 48h but you've put together a very solid base.

Could get a lot more playability out of it with a few balance tweaks. ie. on level 2 by wave 4/8 no enemies could clear the first quarter of my screen, and by wave 5/8 every station had a Rocketer on it. Wave difficulty should definitely ramp up harder. Also, spiders aren't quite fast enough to induce a demand for the freezing tower, so there's no real reason rn to final build anything other than Rocketers.

A bug I experienced: After beating level 1, I returned to the main menu and tried level 2. No enemies spawned no matter how long I waited, I even tried a couple more times and nothing. Refreshing the page did the trick tho.

EDIT: Speedrunning level 2 I was able to get a full map of Rocketers by the time wave 3 started

I really enjoyed the game, and the dog design made me LOL. The story is funny and clever. I appreciated the hint it gives you when you redo a level a few times (I didn't see the stop sign at first either LOL! My bad). Nice work!!

This is a great example of a perfect LD compo game. Simple yet clever concept executed cleanly, and provides the right degree of challenge to keep you hooked until the end. I already loved it when I thought the game was just going to be the same as Incident 1 but with diminishing time rewards, but the side effects was an awesome way to add another dimension to the game.

Only note: Could use a quit button ;) unless there is one and I missed that

Awesome game!! I loved the graphics, they were charming and fitting. The way each task revealed itself was a masterful lesson in "show don't tell". I liked how compact the game was and how the player always had something to do. Balancing tasks are one of my favorite genres to play. Great work!!

I really like time management games like this, and the graphics were really fitting! I had to play it a few times but I finally baked Olive a pie! :)

The Consequences of Gardening by JMad 2020-04-21T18:43:57Z

The art is so nice and the story is very interesting! Since this is a serial killer story game , I would have liked an ending. I liked the array of characters, and how put-together this game felt. The audio is fantastic and I still have the end audio playing as I write this. :)

I love these idle gardening games, and the cheat made me LOL. Perfect for mitigating the grow time though, otherwise it would have taken forever to get money.

The daytime audio was really nice and relaxing. The night time audio wasn't as relaxing. I think a mute button would be nice too since it's meant to be an idle game running in the background.

The whole day/night cycle was really pretty too. Nice job! Excited to update a picture when my plants are grown.

EDIT- OH! I see the mute option in the intro now! Sorry, my bad!

I've had it running for 10 hours now, watering it periodically. Am I doing something wrong? 123.PNG

Edit2 - Awesome, it works now :) The plants look great and I'm glad I get the satisfaction of seeing them fully bloom!

I like the Spud design, and the game was definitely enjoyable for a while!

Save the torch! by eduardogacn 2020-04-29T07:32:01Z

Cool game, graphics are really nice and the mechanics are fluid. The music too doesn't get grating or anything, it is comfortable to listen to! Not sure if its mentioned anywhere but the enemy sprite is from Super Crate Box. The only thing I don't like is being sent back to the very start after each death. But maybe that is the difficulty balance you were going for.

Monster Munch by SilasAdams 2020-04-21T22:17:23Z

Love the graphics, and the sound is very fitting. I love how satisfying a one-hit kill feels like, and the evolutions were fun! Great game!
