LD38 — A Small World

Escape The World by Ajayajayaj 2017-05-02T14:31:29Z

great puzzle game that puts an interesting twist on the theme. i love how simple this is yet can make you try to master it for much longer than you expect it to, with charming sound effects too

i also agree this would be great as a mobile game, love to see what you create in the future!

a very unique puzzle game that controls and transitions smoothly; lots of fun! it could use a quick reset level button as a little additive, but probably not necessary.

What Remains. by Fiote 2017-05-02T14:25:48Z

fun little strategy game that looks very complete given the limits that you had! very well done, definitely one of the games i've spent the most time playing from this jam

LD42 — Running out of space

Cunctan's Square by Ajayajayaj 2018-08-13T14:00:11Z

this is great! the main mechanic hits the theme spot-on, and i feel like the white blocks slowly encompassing you in a natural way without blocking your path feels fair and suspenseful (in a good and fun way!) the bloom effect and transitions are also so darn pleasing to look at :D

it's been said already, but i think giving some indication on where the red blocks would go would eliminate the unfair aspect of the randomness involved in their movement. also there are some cases where you can move directly through them (if you're standing right next to them, move into them and they move to your original spot, the level doesn't reset)

overall a very pleasant game, good job!

so far the most time i've spent with any ludum dare game. nice work!

a very clever twist on the theme! the main mechanic caught me a little off-guard at first early into the game when i couldn't figure out why i was colliding with myself, but you get the hang of it when levels require you to take advantage of it.

i've had some cases where i accidentally skipped parts of a level because of the trail collision, the most noticable one being the level where you have to go around a one-way gate facing left in order to get to the goal (i clipped through it) but getting stuck because of how you move honestly feels fair most of the time

i'm in love with the simplistic yet super clean graphics and animations as well, really great job!

@ajayajayaj @torcado i've applied fixes that make the backspace key function how it should when held and prevents the same prompt from appearing multiple times in a row. thanks for the feedback!

@hegemege just to clarify, would the changes i've made so far not be classified as bug fixes? i'll post the updated version to newgrounds or something and keep the 1.0 on itch.io if that's the case

@ajayajayaj @hegemege thanks a bunch, i'll keep those things in mind! (the character balances have been undone.)

this game's got a unique visual flair to it that i haven't quite seen in other ldjam games, and the story was solid and wonderfully fit with the theme. good job!

most of my thoughts about the game are pretty much what's already been said; since there wasn't really any diversity with how enemies showed up, you can cheese a big high score by sitting in one place and mashing the attack key constantly.
