Awesome!
Great Game!
Cool idea and awesome game!
Awesome Game! Very interesting and fun idea.
Cool Game. But, I cannot see the HUD because the screen is too big for my monitor.
Amazing Game! Took a long time to understand but then it's really fun. Can't imagine how you made such a complicated game in 48 hours.
Awesome Game! Very addicting!
Great game!
Amazing Game!! Awesome job!
Awesome Game. Backgrounds are amazing!
Great game!
@eemmbbeerr I wanted to add more levels but I couldn't work on the game the whole weekend.
Awesome Game! Very interesting idea!
Great Game. Cool how the Shadow talks. Awesome music and cool fog effect!
Amazing game! Amazing concept! It's really hard though!
Cool idea but incredibly hard. It gets even harder when you have more cars stopped in the same spot!
Awesome but there is no game over screen and it is freezing. It's still cool though!
I was surprised at the end!
By far, the most fun and innovative game i've seen!! How did you do the grading? It must have been hard!
Great game but it takes forever to build stuff. I have all my laborers free and it won't build new houses.
Amazing game! But the controls are very hard.
Cool game. I just spammed all of the buttons.
Great game!
Cool but kind of hard. Great use of the theme though!!
Amazing graphics and amazing audio! Overall, awesome game!
Very fun!
Cool!
Cool game but really hard!
Awesome!
The backdrop.png could not load even though it was in the folder.
For people with security issues, on Java 8, applets are messed up. You will have to add https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com to your exception list (Found in the java config section) to get the security to work.
@elemel I am not sure what happened. I have only tried this on Windows. This error has appeared for me before though when I had a ton of stuff open.
@Zi weird... Have you tried adding the exception for the java applet?
If you can't play, try the download version.
Neat but you should put instructions.
Liked it!
GIANT SNOWMAN!!! SPACE, SPACE, SPACE, SPACE, SPACE, SPACE!
Great! Addicting!
Loved it
Awesome! The death sequence is so cool.
Great Game!
Awesome!
Fun!
Tried it out with just the leap motion and it looked cool! It would be cool if you could make a mouse mode to look around if you are not using an oculus.
Amazing! You should make this a full game. It's awesome!
Great!
How do you get that 3d effect everyone is talking about?
Liked it.
Loved it! Great idea and nice ending!
Amazing Game and great concept!
How did you not make the music if you are doing the compo?
I liked the idea but I don't understand how to win and what the conversations have to do with the infiltration.
I like the concept. I could not get past the repetition part though... The music is kind of choppy on the web player but I am guessing that is just the web player. If you ignore the choppiness the music is great.
The server is not working
It did before but it was lagging so I closed and reopened and now it is broken.
It is working now thanks
liked it a lot!
Cool liked it. But the granny is invincible
Cool idea!
@HellBlazer Ya. This is the first time I have used delta time so the soeed is multiplied by it and then the guys go off the screen. You can lose jets to that too.
Great Game! I wish you could shoot at different areas on the y-axis though. It is hard when there are a bunch of zombies crowding then they go too far down the screen. Great game though and like the highscore system!
Loved it!
Awesome game. If you work on this more it would be great as a published game!
Great Game. Liked it a lot!
Cool
Cool idea!
Amazing! You definitely should publish this after the jam. I didn't get to the end because I accidently hit the menu button thinking it brought you to the main menu ingame. Also, I am not really sure what it has to do with the theme since I did not fully compete the game.
Is there a way I could skip to where I was. I would like to finish the game. Thanks!
Played the game and got to the point I was at and now I'm lost all I can do is hit update...
Ok cool. Oops, I was spam clicking to get to where I was and must have missed the ending! I liked the idea though it was great!
Hey can you try my game again? I fixed the glitch.
Awesome! Can you please try my game out again because I fixed the bug. Thanks!
@Megalink It should be a jar file. Do you have java installed? I'm not sure what happened I just tested the link and it brought me to a page with a download button. Then you can double click the file to open it if you have java.
There should be 3 levels hmm...
I don't know this LD definitely wasn't my best. Sorry for the glitches.
I'll look into that...
It's weird I could not get a stack trace because when I ran it normally it froze. With the cmd it did not.
Figured it out it happens if you are falling and go to next level.
Fixed
Awesome! But there is a glitch where the lunge does not work.
Haha!
Great Game! Could you check out my game again? I fixed it. And your plot line is almost identical to mine. The twist at least.
Cool! Really hard did not beat. What does it have to do with the theme though?
Awesome!
Great! But there is a glitch where you cannot choose choice 3 in the german thing. it says "You can't choose '1' or '2' you idiot" when there is a 3rd choice.
So good!
Awesome, Loved the intro!!!
Music not loading
Confusing but got it working.
Awesome!
Awesome game! A few bugs and the WebGL bug doesn't work. Anyways, the webplayer one was fine! Graphics were so cool.
Sweet! Loved the graphics. Got stuck at one part where the planet stopped growing and I could not collect anything.
Sweet! Loved the Music. Got stuck at one part where the planet stopped growing and I could not collect anything.
They both were good.
@Aree-Vanier Fixed... I used == instead of <=. Stupid mistake...
@CaptainRed It is supposed to make it challenging.
@pianoman373 I'll look into that!
@Hot Box Games Yay!
@acotis hmm... I didn't notice a lot of lag. I'll look into that.
@anv ok thanks.
Haha! Buggy though...
Very awesome game and music. Haha!
Cool
Cool. Very similar to a game made from the LD with Entire Game On One Screen, but that one was made in java.
Nice graphics and audio and a cool innovative idea. The only problem is that it is pretty slow, and keyboard clicks take a while to register, even on low settings. I probably just need a better computer. Other than that, it is great!
I can't rate it no options are selected.
Haha
Weird... but cool...
Nice. And I agree, this has the perfect "mobile style".
nice
Aersome. Feels like antichamber mixed with portal. A little laggy (probably just my computer) and the mouse movement was glitched, but still a great 5 star entry!
Sorry, had a debug setting turned on. Fixed now!
@tsedate completely forgot to take Mac keyboards into account. Should have probably used the shift key instead.
Yup that is the one thing I ran out of time for.
@lanestp Thanks! I think I probably should have used shift instead, haha.
@local minimum Thanks, the level with the ball is pretty glitchy since it was made while I was at school on the Monday (on my phone partly, haha). I could have made that system better.
@Jupiter_Hadley Thanks, that's cool!
Awesome! I got stuck as the fish thouh right after switching to it accidentally and died from not being in water.
JUST AMAZING!
Interesting Idea, just very confused what items are the correct ones to shapeshift into. Maybe I'm just stupid...
Very confusing, seemed to be moving in the wrong direction, but was very interesting. I think some more detailed instructions could help make this less confusing.
Awesome. I think I found the easy way to win, I was about to go to the forest, then I realised I already have everything I needed. will play some more. Awesome!
Nice
The controls stopped working for some reason. But, other than that, this was a very cool idea and game.
Only got to the third level. Wish you didn't have to keep going to the beginning everytime you lost.
Awesome, the collision detection is a little bit glitchy, but other than that it's cool.
It is awesome. If this were rated you would get 5/5 , except for theme obviously. Physics need to be tweaked a bit though.
@Boberro I have it if you want it
@Kizler Thanks for the feedback! I wish I could give some on yours but I will try again.
The bomb pushing idea is actually a really cool one I never thought of, and the pushing enemies isn't actually supposed to be good. When you run into an enemy is makes you lose health. You can kill enemies by pressing space as the first guy (peasant), clicking to shoot with the craftsman, both with the soldier, and clicking for laser eyes with the pharaoh. Jumping on the does nothing but bounce you (I thought it looked cool) but they do have health and take 2 hits to destroy. (never got time to add more then 2 enemy types)
Once you kill an enemy you get a pyramid piece and once the whole pyramid in the top left corner fills up, a portal appears. You can jump into the portal to switch to the next character.
So, space to mele with peasant and soldier
And, click to shoot with the craftsman (throwing pots), soldier (shooting arrows), and the pharaoh (big guy with laser eyes when you click)
@Kizler Turns out a left a debug setting turned on to automatically start at level 5, oops. I will fix that soon.
@Arre Vanier Fixed!
@Zulman I never actually made the web version version, that is why it says TBA. But thanks for the feedback. I definitely should change the ground to a different color
@Smiley Thanks for the feedback. It probably would have helped if there was a countdown for respawn and if you respawned on the ground. I am happy there are no collision issues now!
@Mine10blox Thanks, yes I definitely need some more polish and better AI, but I also was planning on having more enemy types. Also, I never thought of using that format for comments, I will use that from now on.
@csanyk Haha!
Cool game, kinda psychedelic. Pretty confused what the goal is though.
Really cool!
That was pretty cool! The music was awesome and so was the art.
Music is nice and the puzzles are pretty good. Wish there were more levels though. The jump animation is cool!
AZERTY game? That's the first I've seen haha! Anyways, I think the game is pretty awesome but needs one imprevement. You need to make the turning speed a little faster, it is really hard to control at this speed. If not, you should implement some other control system, because with WASD/ZQSD it is really hard to control at that turning speed because you feel like you should turn faster.
Doesn't work, just a white screen.
Awesome animations, some arrows o so fast they go through the blocks and the game seems really small, but other than that it is a really cool game!
Pretty hard, but after many tries I beat it. The dinosaur is cool!
This is a really interesting mechanic, the hard version is really hard. There are some bugs though. One is that on the title screen, if you hover over the first button, and quickly move your mouse to the side, the instructions flash on the screen. The second one is that it doesn't seem to be lowering the remaining time.
Looks really awesome, but I can't really move because the movement speed is really slow. Is this supposed to happen, if so that is fine, but it is extremely slow.
Very cool game. The new version is so much better. I always get trapped in the bottom left corner because of lag spikes, but other than that, I think this is a great. Those half blocks seem impossible to climb (I think that is just my computer's fault though.
Thanks for fixing it! I'm kind of confused what the blocks missing parts are. You can go through them, are they anything special, or just like no block was there at all.
Really fun puzzle. This really could turn into a full game (maybe mobile). The graphics are great and the controls are great. The controls are easier to control than an etch a sketch, but that is not a bad thing, considering the control necessary for the game.
Nice game, I think you should have some visual signal of health left for certain enemies, like the big goblin. I also think you should explain why the shielded ones are not being hit (so people know the strategy). Other than that, I think this game is good!
Everything is black for me except screens, which display static. Weird...
The title screen is amazing, and the art style is really cool.
Really like the changing rules. It gets hard fast.
Really weird game, but cool.
@SoKette (responding to your response to me) Haha, congrats on your first LD! You were linked in a tweet from PoV.
Really confusing. I got to the ball shooting at the painting. I couldn't figure out what to do next. I like the idea though.
Really neat idea and i like the physics. Wish there was an extra level of difficulty though instead of just getting a low score.
Game is blocked at my school. It would be cool if you could upload it somewhere else too.
It got laggy quickly, but I understand the challenges of multiplayer. It is VERY hard to get right, and you implemented it pretty well for the time you had. I hope you can fix this up and make this a hit "IO" game. Congrats.
Like the art style! Congrats!
Really like the game. I died pretty quick though.
Like the idea. But, the game moves too slow. The graphics are a really good, and the music sets the mood. Congrats. And I hope you get a rating in the final 15 minutes!
Really like the SFX and animations! Good Job! I did not have anyone to play with, but just tested it out to try and make sure you got a rating. Hope you get one in time. You have 12 minutes!
Pretty cool. But, it gets pretty disorientating quickly. Good job! :)
Really nice shader. The stars are a little hard to see though, but it would be better if they were more visible because I missed a few and had to use the walkthrough. The music really makes the mood. And the birds are a nice touch.
@Kizler I was planning on having enemies, but decided to not add them thinking that they would take away from the puzzle.
There are actually 4 generated worlds, but I agree, I think it is kind of too many.
@George W. Bush what?
@impbox I really should have added enemies.
@Yami no tenshi I didn't know if it would make it too hard or not, so I decided not to include them. Also, I do have a mechanism to block spamming space, it hurts your eyes haha.
@Splendius Thanks! This is the first time of done level generation.
@Alecander Kondyrev I am using Google Analytics now so that's why, but I'll try to make it better (redirect instead of link)
@Alexander Kondyrev Fixed For you. Now you should get the download box without clicking anything.
@Justin Mullin I think that is because you can't hit space while looking with the overlay. There shouldn't be keys failing to register other than that.
@mirta000 Thanks, I probably should have lowered the amount I agree.
@Coauctor Awesome. I really like that mechanic. I'm happy I got it implemented. Thanks for the feedback.
@Geckoo1337 thanks!
I really like the game! The music is really cool, and I like the win sound! The animations are really nice too and add to the happy mood (the bouncing doors were a great touch!). At first I thought, like @MCRewind , that the controls were lagging, but I realized that you only need to tap once to move forward, and that's why it was acting like that. It definitely can get frustrating, especially having to start at level one every time (I wish you just went back 1 or 2 levels.
One other thing I think should be made clearer is the skull pits. On the first level, for me at least, the skull pits were inside the land, making me think it was a powerup. The green made me think that.
Anyways, congrats on another great LD game!
Cool!
Really cool idea. It gets very challenging quickly, but that's the point. This might be cool as a mobile game, because using the tiny arrow keys on my keyboard kinda hurts.
Very cool. But the low friction really makes it frustrating (maybe that's intended). I also wish this was in portrait mode because it seems too squished.
Anyways, I hope you get a rating at the end. You just need one more vote on your game after my vote. Good Luck.
It moves very slow, Unity has a default method for delta time. Just multiply all movement by that, that will make the game run the same even with low FPS.
@DecentSauce Ah, that's funny. Someone last LD also had a problem similar.
Good game. 4/5 game. I would suggest making the SFX a little quieter.
GaME
Awesome idea! The graphics are a really cool style.
Really nice. But hard.
And @Greek85, looks like we have another steph88...
Like it. Zombies are fast though.
Really cool idea. I like the Bob Ross like comment at the end haha. I wish it easier to switch between colours. That really made it annoying for me.
@endlessplumber Thanks for the feedback! Showing the active color is definitely something I should have done. Thanks for the compliments on the level design, it really took me a while to create them (that's why there aren't a huge number), and I felt really proud of the effort I spent making them.
@mrtroy Thanks for the suggestions! Also the time changing is kinda weird, because it's just doing subtraction (timefinished - timestarted).
The reset game code was added in the last 5 minutes of the compo, so I'm sorry for it not resetting the moves.
I'll make sure to try out your game when I'm on my computer.
@merrak a score would be a cool idea, never thought of that. Thanks for the suggestion!
@martenscedric yea, maybe mobile. Thanks for playing!
Hmm, my comment didn't go through the first time...
@david-cookie Those are some really good ideas. I am still learning how to make good music, and it's still hard for me to create a mood out of music. But, that's a good idea. And maybe highlighting would be nice.
@nedmakesgames Thanks for playing!
@doc-ill Wow, thanks!
@qzqxq Thanks so much for this feedback! And, that elegant point is really nice. I feel like I'm getting better and better with level design, and any feedback about it helps. I am trying to be more and more elegant, and I see how that could help.
@etucker1 Thanks!
@occultone Yea, sorry. If you have java installed there is no need for a batch, you just double click the jar file, and it should run with java, and not open with winrar to extract.
@wtoa @saxops1 @jin47 @devorc Thanks so much!
@atmospherium That's a pretty good score (better than me :) ). Thanks for the suggestions for mobile controls, those actually seem like they'd be perfect. Thanks so much for playing my game!
@gaiusjulius Thanks so much!
@philomory Thanks so much for the suggestions, I agree with it. I do think a ranking would be a cool idea. Thanks so much for the long detailed comment!
@daisychubb thanks a lot for the feedback!
Pretty cool idea. I was confused what to do at first, but then I figured it out.
Hopefully your internet starts working again, and great job on the game!
Really cool! Took me a while to get what was happening even with the tutorial, but it is a really cool concept one I figured it out. I think a multiplayer twist on this game would be really cool, or maybe a way for the map to grow.
The music is really simple, but still really helps the mood. It is out of the way and not too obtrusive, while keeping a nice tone. I also like the sound effects.
Great Job! Good Luck!
I really like the music, and the voices. I liked the ways it controlled (makes it kind of difficult), but I don't like the background. I'm not sure if it is supposed to be like that, but for me it really hurts my eyes. It made it very annoying after playing for a while.
The collecting stars mechanism is really nice, and I like how when you get stopped, you can be easily caught, but I kind of wish there were some way to know where the stars might be. On hard, some of the stars are hard to find, but I think this is just part of the challenge.
And I agree with @multiplexor , I think maybe a second monster would add a cool challenge to the mix (but probably wouldn't work with the storyline)
And for the controls, WASD support would be nice.
Overall, I really like this game. With the nice music and humourous voice track/storyline, the game is fun to play. There were just a few things I didn't like, and other than that, totally solid game!
Really like the long detailed tutorial, but the game is still hard to understand. Congrats on making such a big game though! I just think the game is **too** big for the time you had. I finished the tutorial and didn't really know what to do... But, the concept looks really cool.
Wow, such a cool idea. The turn based system is so great.
And the music, oh, the music. The fade ins are such a cool style. And the music itself is so great, I caught myself sitting there not wanting to proceed because the music was so good. Could you release it on soundcloud or something. It's so good!!!
Awesome work! 5/5!
Same name as me! :)
Pretty good. Really like the narration :). Good job!
Nice game, very good for 6 hours! This is much better than I imagined seeing your post saying "it's the worst game you'll play this year". I really liked it. The idea is really cool, and very challenging with the bugs coming so quickly.
I think with some improvements (if you had more time), this could be an amazing game! With some music, a few more bug types, and maybe other weapon types, it could be really cool. Good Job!
Also, I wish there was a limit to the speed you could shoot (and then you could lower the ant spawn rate). This would make the game feel like it requires more skill.
Very interesting idea. So many authors :)!!. I think I broke it, I accidentally hit space on a checked item and it went back in game, and I didn't know where to look for the next item.
Congrats on your awesome game!
Very frustrating on the web build because Ctrl+D makes a bookmark.
@reactor-scram Ok, thanks. Just my one suggestion. Other than that, it still is a really nice game!
PS. what happened to my username in your reply lol
Very cool idea, and I really liked it. But, I couldn't figure out where to go after the pumpkin king. But, it's still such a cool concept. Congrats!
Pretty nice, I think it would be cool with keyboard controls. The music is pretty nice. Solid entry!
The music is nice, and I really like the voice acting haha! Great game!
Very fun, I liked the idea, but it was a little too hard to control. This would be awesome with music.
Good Job!
So cool, the music made is really nice, and I really like the effects made. I wish I knew how to create something like this (I struggle with music) :)
Really cool concept. I got stuck on the level with the moon blocking it, after trying for a long time. I really like the SFX, and think that the graphics are a really cool design. It is a very innovative game, would be a great movile game (seems like how you designed it).
Also, I agree with @jones , the light beam thing is a little too far, but other than that I really like it.
P.S. Ads on an LD game? What is this... Can you host it somewhere else with no ads too? Thanks
The idea is **SO COOL**!! The graphics are also amazing, especially with the snow globe shaking and everything.
The music really fits with the game, but I wish there were sound effects. SFX would really improve it. And, did you use abundant music, it kinda sounded like it, still good though.
The gameplay did feel a bit like a spam 'c' game, but still interesting.
Anyways, good job! Hope you get enough ratings!
Really cool, was pretty confusing at first not knowing what to do, but then I realize you can bounce off of stuff. The art style was interesting... Haha. The floating babies are kinda weird, but cool.
Ya, the baby heads are really hard, but that's part of the challenge I think right?
Anyways, congrats on a very interesting game!
Hmm, sometimes it seemed like it did random movements everytime. But, it's a nice concept. Good job!
Wow really cool. Music and SFX are great and really help the mood. It can get really fun, but sadly a bit repetitive.
Also, I hit one part where there was nothing I could reach, and it can get kinda disorienting too. Other than that, it's nice! Congrats!
Really nice. I really liked the sound effect for returning. Sound effects in a music program? I never thought of that, that is such a good idea I might try some time.
Good Job!
So sad, ratings have been over since yesterday around now. Good luck next time though. You might not have gotten a rating, but you still made a game!
sorry triple post accidental
I really liked how the music changes in munch mode, it really puts you in the mood. The graphics style is really nice too. At first, I found it weird, and kinda nausiating from the limited view, but after playing a couple times, I started liking it. It started becoming very addicting.
Congrats! This is a very addicting game. The only thing you could probably improve is to maybe make the camera slowly move toward the player, instead of always being exactly over. I think that would make it a little less nauseating.
I wish you could bounce off of the wall, but otherwise a good game.
Really good level design and such a cool idea. My freind had a similar idea in the beginning but never finished. It's really cool to see this idea to an extreme level.
Awesome job! 5/5
Really nice graphics. The gravity seems a bit glitched, but that's ok. Also, I really wish you had a moving background. It is really hard to tell where you are when it is stationary.
Overall though, nice game!
So awesome! It reminds me of an old DSi game I used to play called 99 Bullets. The graphics are so nice, combined with the great parallax. I really liked the screenshake at the end when the scores, it kinda looked like a glitch at first, but it's awesome!
It is really hard, but after a bunch of tries I got 139. It is really addicting.
Great game!
Haha, realy good. It took me a while to figure out I could use the mouse to see stuff haha. After 3 tries, I got it! It's really interresting, and I love the voice acting! Great job!
One of the funniest games here!
I agree, the controls were a bit rough, but the rest of the game makes up for it!
Hey, I suggest adding cover art to increase visibility (you can add it when you edit your game)
This is great. The music is amazing, with a cool the FEZ feel. The atmosphere is really nice with the sound effects and music.
The shadows also really help with the mood.
Nice!
Very cool. I liked watching all of the people run around. If expanded, I think this could really become an awesome game/simulator.
If you go to the inventory and click the first item, it gives you more people. I don't know if that's a feature or not, so just wanted to tell you about it.
Congrats on your first Ludum Dare! You have made a very solid product, with great graphics and music!
Wow, such a cool idea! I just wish the numbers were written on the triangles instead of only being there when you hover.
Wow, such a cool idea. I really like the physics too. This would be a cool multiplayer game I think, in the Agar.io type.
11/10 too much greatness
Fixed sorry. Also, it looks like my web build has broken sound, so I only have a downloadable build for now. Will be fixed.
Edit: Web version now working!
@chris-coe @jahndis Sorry guys, yea it's infinitly large (well at least until you hit the integer overflow). I'm going to add a disclaimer.
I really do think adding exploration to the mix would really improve the game. Thanks a lot for the feedback!
@mcjammerdodger Thanks so much for commenting. I agree with the vertical exploration too.
@rikoclon Haha, I completely forgot that enemies only spawn in a small radius.
About the darkness, originally it was a black background, but I found it looked kinda bland, so I decided to add a background. But, I tried to make the background still "dark", and make it very dark in comparison to the normal background. Now that I think of it, I forgot to add the death animation. I was planning on making it so the whole screen slowly turned back into your bedroom
Also, thanks for complimenting on my music. I am trying hard to improve my music skills. Thanks!
@smbe19 I have added the source code. Normally I just use normal Java (no libraries), but this time I wanted to have a web version to make rating easier. I normally rate mostly web games, so it's not fair if I don't offer a web version.
In the HTML Launcher you'll be able to see my auto resizing code, it's pretty useful, I'm not sure if you have a similar system or not.
@smbe19 Fixed
@jason-kennedy Thanks for the list! You are right, I probably should have added a tutorial.
@ninjascribble @spice135 @peter-sheehan
Thanks guys! I really like the suggestions.
Multiple generators, a form of discovery, and a finite world are things I really want to add in a post jam release maybe.
Thanks for rating and giving suggestions!
@colozz
Thanks for the nicely formatted feedback. Also, I normally just use java without libraries, but this time wanted to have a web build, so decided to use Lib-GDX.
@justinooncx
I see what you mean about the difficulty curve. Thanks for the feedback!
I really like the game, but I feel like the character moves way to fast, it really was frustrating to aim toward characters, but I think the music and sound effects are excellent, and combined with the awesome lighting, really enhance the mood. I'm not sure if being so fast is part of difficulty, but it really makes it hard to move. If I had a joystick, or if it was mouse controls, this speed might be ok, but with only 4 buttons, it's really hard to aim toward enemies.
The game play is really great, but I think if it used mouse for aiming, it would make it far less frustrating, but then again, maybe I'm just bad at the game.
I suggest tagging as Unfinished
Could you post a Jam version?
I really liked the mix between 2D and 3D. I agree with the others about the mouse sensitivity, but the game itself is great. Congrats!
I really like the animations, they are great. Knowing they are hard coded makes them even greater. I hope you expand the game and implement the charging features, it could be a very successful game!
Nice game! I really like how when you die, the game keeps going in the background, and when you retry, you spawn back in. I wish the sound effects weren't as loud though.
Wow, such a cool idea! I love it! 5 star game! Even though the music is random, it fits with the game well. The batteries dying annoyed me a lot, making me not win, but it still is such a cool concept.
Very interesting idea.
One weird thing I noticed is, because of the big snake head, it feels like there is a delay between keypress and action, it kept making me mess up.
Otherwise, nice job on this cool concept!
sorry for double comment
Wow, this is amazing, easy 5 star! The animations (changing colours) are beautiful, and I really like the shrinking and growing circle animation. I think this could be a very fun mobile game! Great job!
You say there is an issue with HTML5? Could you upload another version? I found that the friction was way too low (it seemed like there was none at all), but other than that, the game is great. I really like the concept that each action consumes your fuel, but each action, but you can still get more fuel. I also like that you have to collect the fuel and don't just get it from killing.
Nice job on your first LD!
Very interesting take on the clicker game. Though, after a while, I did get very tired of clicking, so I only could get one guy to level 10 and another to level 5. With other clicker games, eventually, the game plays itself, and it is fully automated. I think that would improve this game, because clicking forever really is hard :)
Congrats!
This game was really cool. I think the only thing that would have made this better is a little bit of music. Congrats!
Also, I see you gave an extremely long and thorough review of this game: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/zynite
First, thanks for writing really good feedback! But, I regret to inform you that the game you reviewed was actually an LD38 game so you won't get coolness for it, but hopefully you helped the game creator out. Make sure you are rating from this link: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/39/games
Wow, just plain amazing. This is an easy 5 star for sure!!
The music is amazing, and the graphics fit perfectly with it. The music plus sound effects plus the awesome fade out effect when you die easily make this a 5 star mood.
I really like the game play too, it's really fun!!
Only nitpick would be to keep the faded out music a bit longer, but that maybe just because I like it so much.
Congrats!!
Really nice. It would probably work really well on mobile (as it was designed for portrait).
One issue I had is that the window was too tall for my screen, luckily I have dual monitors though so it was half on one monitor and half on another.
With a bit of music and SFX, I think this would be perfect.
Congrats!
Wow, this was super cool. The atmosphere is amazing, and I love all the lines the people say. I really like how the text is displayed. This is a 5 star in all categories to me.
Congrats! Can't wait to see you next LD
I really like the concept, I agree that it would be really cool as a mobile game. It just needs some music and SFX. Great job!
Amazing, very hard though. 5 star all around.
You say the music isn't yours, so please opt out of audio
It's a really nice simple game and the particle effects + screenshake really improve the experience and make up for the lack of audio by giving that feedback! Nice game!
Edit: Turns out my Autoplay disabler extention was breaking HTML5 game audio. I have adjusted my rating sorry. I like the sound effects, but I think a small background track would improve the game a lot. Nice job!
@seanbeans Ya, I tied using colliders mainly, and sadly that didn't work out
@wilco I was thinking of maybe making it so that the pieces would slowly follow you (they originally weren't all scattered and would be found by killing enemies).
Thanks for trying out what I have
Thanks @samusoidal ! I updated my description
@local-minimum originally it was on all 4 sides, but the left and right side were removed because of bugs in the last 10 minutes :/. Thanks for your suggestions though :)
This is a really cool game!
One thing I did notice though is that sometimes they get stuck in corners and I cannot tell if they are angry, which makes me lose health. I do like the mechanic of the baby sheep, and how you have to wait before eating them.
Pretty nice, I like the mechanic. Some music would make this game really good. Congrats!
Wow, that was amazing. The music is perfect, the mechanic is so cool (including the go through the side mechanic). It fits with the mood so well. That's a perfect 5 star game. I made it to level 28 before dying, and I wish it didn't send you to the beginning.
My only suggestion is to make this game smaller, it didn't fit on my 1366x768 monitor, so I had the top part on another monitor.
HAHA this is great!!! One of the No Thanks is almost impossible to click, but I did end up getting it. I really felt some pride and accomplishment with that.
It was really missing lootboxes though, why should I be able to pay 9.99$ to unlock the pause button, when I can pay 14.99$ to unlock a loot box, and another 24.99$ for a pack of 5 keys to unlock the box, and get the chance to unlock the quit button, or just get nothing.
This is such a cool game, I really like the 2D on 3D style, and really like how the players move all their joints to where you are.
One suggestion I would have is to change the music, it is nice, but it would be better if there was something a little more menacing (I'm assuming you used abundant music? I have to, but it would be cool if you found a more "battle" type theme)
Nice Job!
Wow I really like this game. I really think this would be cool turned into one of those mmo "io" games. I really like the idea, and think it's really cool having the shooting controlled by the arrows instead of the mouse.
My only suggestion would be to add some music and sound effects, but I understand the lack of time. Congrats!
Pretty cool game, there were some performance issues I was having though, which made it a little hard to play.
With the lower FPS, it seemed like there were way too many enemies, however the concept is really cool. Great job!
Really awesome, such a cool idea. With some music and sound effects, this could be really good. Great job!
One suggestion would be to add some visible consequences to your actions, like making someone die, and a message that they are angry they died, or that people are mad they died. But, I understand how little time there was, you completed a lot in the time.
Very cool. Graphics are nice, and I really like the music. I also really like the slowdown on the music when you die, it really adds to the mood.
Haha such a cool idea. What I did notice is that the best option is just to always be at work, because you can upgrade your gpu enough for work not to affect the rage. But, it's still so funny. 5 star game right here, nice job.
Very cool idea. One issue I found was that you could just stack items and make it easy, but I guess that ruins the fun :)
Really cool concept. Like others said, I wish there was a stat showing what level you are on. I also do agree with @samusoidal , the aiming is pretty hard on keyboard with the arrows.
However, I still really like the game, awesome job!
Really cool idea, I really like what @kodiqi is saying, making the player feel guilty would be cool. The mood is really nice. Great job!
Really awesome concept. I really like the art too, and the music fits right with the mood. Overall, really good game. I did feel like sometimes it was a little hard to pick up people, but it was still really good. Great job!
This game definitely doesn't deserve 7th worse. I couldn't figure it out, until I saw in the comments someone mentioned the space bar. Really like the sound effects :D
I find one of the most important things in Ludum Dare is to have controls shown to the user, even if they don't want it, because otherwise people will be confused. Even controls in the description are sometimes not enough.
Can placeholder be #1 in unfinished???
@katuiche yes, there is path finding to make sure it never blocks your path. Sadly, this makes it so that turns take long to process. Were you using the web verson? I think I might take down the web version if so because it cannot multithread the path finding, which makes the game freeze.
Thank you very much for the comment :)
@gabe thanks. I have removed the web version, hopefully people will have less issues now.
@terracottafrog Now that I think about it, I see how frustrating long tunnels can be, especially if one or two enemies get stuck in them since there is only a 25% chance the will move in the direction you want.
Thanks for the feedback!
@kassjak I had that feeling on the last day of making the game too haha. (World's Hardest Game is what I think you mean)
@divinenephron thank you and others who gave this feedback, I can definitely see how that could help.
@samusoidal Thanks! Lol. I put shrinking into Google Translate to latin, and one of the results was cunctans, and I thought it sounded cool :)
@derpyjish yea, that can happen. The processing was already taking too long per turn, so there was no way to also add in path finding to the buttons.
Thanks for commenting :)
@erikkire Hey, you just have to double click the file. However, you must have java installed to run it (it is an executable java file). The same .jar file works on any platform
WOO, that's fun!
Music and atmosphere are amazing. I really like the mix of the spam-click realm of the mad god feel with having a home base.
I can't believe you also got an online scoreboard working too, that's amazing.
@terracottafrog ah I see.
Very cool idea! The only issue is the camera angle. At this angle, it's kind of hard to see which row the projectile is flying on.
I hope you end up continuing the idea into something bigger in the future.
Really cool game. I think the player moves and jumps to quick though as it makes it very hard to control. I just keep dying. I finally did pass the point @gmaker got stuck at, but then died at the next part.
Nice job!
Very cool game. For some reason the controls kept confusing me, I always ended up moving in the wrong direction. Maybe making the circle rotate with the player's position could help solve this.
On WMR my hands are in the floor. Tried rebooting controllers but it didn't work.
On WMR my hands are in the floor. Tried rebooting controllers but it didn't work.
oops
The art style is great, and the music is nice and relaxing.
I also really enjoyed the legs in the background.
Nice job!
Wow, I really like the 2D on 3D art style. Very cool game!
Super fun game as always.
The art style and music are great.
I just wish holding control would delete a whole letter or the whole command for when you mess up a lot.
@electr1ca Most of the changes you made could be classified as bug fixes but not the balancing change. The rules officially state stuff that
"We allow you to fix crashes, win condition, or tiny bugs after the deadline. In a sense, this is like “porting” to support more players. We leave this open to interpretation, but generally speaking your game should be identical to the game you submitted. No new features, just fixing mistakes you should have caught had you been better rested."
So, changing a design would not really fit that criteria.
However, it's always nice to keep the original around as well.
Very cool game. It took me a while to fully understand how it worked, and I did feel the controls were a little hard to use, but it was very fun.
The only weird thing I found is that the button sound effects seem to play a bit after you press the button, but that might just be me.
Nice job!
Haha! This game is great!
The music is really good, and the artwork is great!
Did you make all the audio?
@limejuice123 That's awesome, awesome job! :)
Here is mine: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/42/cunctans-square
Really cool game. I really like how it forces you to look away from your target.
For some reason, I felt like the fov was very limiting, it bothered me, but I'm not sure why.
Awesome job!
Very cool game! The music is amazing!
I just wish you could go in fullscreen, or make the window bigger. While trying to shoot, my mouse kept going outside of the window and I would end up minimizing the window, which was pretty frustrating.
Nice job!
ooh thanks :)
I'm not sure what the goal is, whenever I hit the flowers, more moss appears. I did run around and try to prevent the moss from building up which I'm assuming was what you are supposed to do..
However, the moss destroying mechanic is really cool, and the moss continually spawning really is very good at keeping you claustrophobic.
One suggestion I would make is to change the controls. The controls are really hard to use. I think making W jump, and space or left click be attack would be best.
Congrats on your game!
The art is really nice.
Did you make the music? Nice job on that!
I agree with @xanderrread , it would be nice to have a death screen.
Wow, that music amazing! @cnb Please release it somewhere!
The game is fun too, but really hard. I don't really like how you can only aim directly up, down, or to the sides. I also feel the view distance is a little too small, but I understand these might have been purposeful choices to add to the difficulty.
5 star game, awesome job!
Nice game, really fun. It is really hard though, I wish there was a little more space when starting. The car mechanic is super cool.
You can post screenshots in the post
@anfaas1618 haha, thanks!
@bitdecay yep, that should say you win. Sorry about that issue, I didn't think to disable the shader on win :)
@slashee-the-cow it should only count when it is just pressed down, but it could be because you just started pressing to move when you died.
@exilegl the changing colours is my favourite as well :)
@brazmogu the camera spinning around is the powerdown of "random rotation", they are written under the large powerup. Could you send a screenshot, that could be a bug if it is unreadable. Do you mean the As displaying as triangles?
@brazmogu Ah, I see. I tried to make it resize at known screen sizes, try making it slightly smaller, it should resize to fit the text. Sorry about that :)
Fun game, I really like the mood and atmosphere. Though, like others were saying, the controls do feel a little floaty. I feel like this could be solved by having something in the background so that I have a sense of movement. With the blank background, I underestimate my speed and crash into the enemies.
Awesome job guys!
Very cool take on the theme, I love the music as well. I wish there was more consequence for cheating and using killing too many trucks :)
I agree with others about the reset button.
Nice job!
Pretty cool idea, really nice graphics!
Very cool idea, sadly I was unable to play/rate with my WMR because of a few issues. First, the throwing seemed to always throw into the ground even when I pointed up (maybe because WMR controller model is tilted by default?). Second, because of dead zoning on the thumbstick, I was always moving a little forward, which made me uncomfortable.
Hopefuslly you can find others to rate, very cool you can do all of this in just 72 hours.
I really like this game, it is super fun, and I love the graphics.
The controls do feel a little floaty as they feel a little delayed from when you pressed them though.
I found the cheaty way to win, go into a corner and hold left and right mouse button at the same time :)
Haha, I knew I shouldn't go with a red light, but I went for it! Jail time is a little too long though. Awesome job!
This game was amazing, I love it. I love the humorous level tests, even if I sometimes cannot fully understand what they are saying. The physics were a little weird, but it still was extremely enjoyable. Probably one of the best games in this jam :)
I got to level 14 "Down Runner" but was unable to beat that level after many tries sadly.
Wow, amazing. The music and the visuals blend so well together. The music is amazing, the lighting is amazing, the camera angles are so cinematic. Probably one of the best LD games! The perfect atmosphere/mood. I am not 100% sure how it relates to the theme though.
Very cool concept!
I was a little confused about the doors at first, but after reading the description once more, it made more sense. One issue I found is that I skipped the end screen accidentally because I was pressing e and didn't notice it finished (I was playing v1).
I liked the music, it fit well with the theme of the game, but I felt that it was a little repetitive.
Another suggestion I have is to have a better indicator that the sacrificed prisoner has an effect other than just turning red, and it would be nice if they always spawned in a position that could be jumped on.
Overall, a really nice entry, congrats!
After Comment:
I checked out v2, I like the changes you made, they really add to the experience.
I like the arrow you added haha!
I really like the variable zoom. It is a very cool concept, but I wish more was implemented to force the player to accidentally kill the good players. And, I do agree with @amastryukov , the soundtrack is a little too repetitive.
The models are nice.
Nice job!
Looks really nice, really fun. I did not know a music generator could make such beautiful music! By the way, you are allowed to be rated in audio if you use a music generator or sfx generator.
Very cool idea. I think the slimes took too long to hit though, as it made me want to just run straight through without even shooting. Nice job on the game!
@yyz it is always been this way, Ludum Dare is basically an honour system. It will be abused some times, but hopefully not enough to ruin the event too much (I've done this 14 times now, many people have cheated).
As for this entry, it does look a little suspicious, and the other top entries have 100+ ratings received somehow, which also seems weird.
cc: @archimagus @radical-dog
Really cool game, the controls are a little hard to use (it's easy to get stuck to the wrong wall) though. I love the graphics, they are really nice.
This a very cool game. I love the way you setup the graphics, nice particle effects, nice post processing effects, and a cool heart beating effect on the boxes.
The sacrificing mechanic is cool, but I feel it would be cooler to make it so that whatever you sacrifice will be given to the other person (you only use what the other person doesn't have). This would prevent both people from always choosing the same weapons to sacrifice.
Is there a reason why you opted out of audio (I like the lyrics :))?
I would love to see this idea expanded! Nice job!
Good luck on getting those final ratings!
Very interesting concept. I agree with the others, the rotating is really hard to control, but once I figured out how to do strafing, the game became much more playable. I really like the concept of ditching people to get further.
Very innovative idea, I did not realize that I could just set up two file explorer windows and drag between them, that made it much easier.
The fast file movements were kind of hard because of the inherent delay of the file system, but I ended up getting it after many tries.
Awesome job!
Very interesting idea! I like that you included a classic mode!
Haha, very fun. You get the pocket god feeling of power. A little in-game tutorial could have helped, but it's still pretty intuitive.
The sound fits well with the graphics, making for a nice mood. I got the resolution to work properly. I agree the game is a little repetitive at it's current state, but it is a very cool concept. It reminds me of an old DS game I used to play called 99 bullets. When you got hit, it also counted as your bullets. I played that game for hours, it was so fun, so I am a bit biased into loving this concept for this game :)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4zdaY_J9BfU
Awesome job on this game, good luck!
@simon-parzer go to options, change your resolution by using A and D keys. It is always in window mode, just the window is so large it looks full screen at the highest resolution.
Hello, as you used a unity asset store asset for graphics, you must opt out for graphics. If you used premade audio, you must opt out for audio as well.
Screenshot from [the rules](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/rules): Capture.PNG
You would not have to opt-out of music, just graphics. :)
@memoryleek could you please host the original version of the game for rating purposes?
@memoryleek oh ok, I am confused about the text:
>UPDATE: After a good night’s sleep and a day at work we gathered enough motivation to push ourselves to fix some of the most critical problems with the gameplay, resulting in a much more entertaining game. As a bonus, we also added gamepad support. The ugly goal sprite is now replaced with something slightly less ugly, but the end game is still only a simple congratulations screen.
>We hope you enjoy playing this updated version of the game :)
Was it originally published at the compo deadline, then extended to jam?
Ah ok, all good then :) ! That makes more sense! Just making sure as some people sometimes don't fully understand the rules and do that by mistake sometimes. Thanks for replying! I'll play your game now!
I love the mechanic, I also like how you tied it to a story (I did this a few LDs ago, back on the old site). The only thing I don't like about it is how the shooting works. I find it very hard to time my shooting to hit enemies that are jumping or too short to hit. I feel that if I could shoot in any direction, it would feel a little less constricting.
I like the graphics, I like minimalist graphics the most as I find it more communicative of it's purpose.
You did a great job!
Your itch.io link is broken.
@Le-Slo if you repel in the middle of a blob, the whole blob will go away. It should be variable.
@Le-Slo I see what you are saying now. That would make it feel more magnetic, you are right. But, it might make it a little too easy.
@irwatts thank you for playing :) I really wish I could have created more levels in the time, but I definitely want to expand on the concept at some point on the future.
Thanks @TechnoNugget ! Getting the liquid looking right took a lot of time, so I am very happy you liked it :)
@Lucas-Hoffmann looks like my game finally got to the first page of danger! Looks like one more rating for you, and you should be on the first rating. I'll go rate your game now.
Yay, I made it to 20 ratings, thanks a lot guys!
Such an amazing game. Awesome graphics, awesome music. Like @TheLucky says, my only suggestion would be some screenshake
I agree with @Ismael Rodriguez 's suggestion of having the paddle be mouse controlled. Also, there were some weird collision issues, for example, the ball could hit the bottom of the paddle and still be bounced up.
Other than that, this was a super cool game. Awesome job!
Wow, 5 star game, this is amazing. The atmosphere is so great, the sound and graphics are so great.
This is so fun.
I would love to see this developed into an online multiplayer game in the future, though I do not know how lag will affect the game.
Wow that's such a good idea!
Good luck, hope you get enough voted for a placement, and I hope my last minute vote helped you!
This is a very interesting idea.
The physics are a little too slippery though, and level 2 seems impossible. Maybe if you used bigger tracks it would have made it a little easier.
Congrats on your first LD!
Wow, this game has so much polish!
The music is amazing, and the screenshake effects are SO COOL!
There is nothing I can be critical about in this game, this is probably one of the best here!
Really cool idea, I really like how the player only moves every beat.
Really fun, but the controls are not so good sadly, and hard to learn. But it still was really fun. Nice job! I love the lazer guy
Very awesome graphics and audiom but I am very confused why I kept dying. After a little while, when I pressed X, I would die. It got very annoying. Sometimes it would not happen, but it happened most of the time.
Wow, such an incredible idea! THIS IS SO COOL!
One suggestion I have is maybe allowing players to only move one or two characters per turn, to add to the difficulty.
Warning, you set your game to unfinished, you will not receive a rank.
Wow that was so cool. I wish the jumps had to be on beat as well, but I guess that would make it really hard.
I do wish that there was a different key used for shooting.
Only issue I had was that jumping had feels sluggish, and the gravity wasn't fast enough for jumping. Other than that, that was an amazing game. I hope you continue work on this game in the future.
If you do use sprites from others, you must opt out of the graphics category though
Wow, this game is so cool.
I really hope you continue this game, this is such a cool idea. With shooting, and more puzzles, this could be a really awesome game.
Congrats on making this in only 72 hours!
Very cool game concept.
One thing I didn't like though is that the sound effects happened a little after you clicked, breaking the beat.
Other than that, awesome game!
No download links, how did 2 people rate your game already???
Very interesting idea. I am kind of confused why you had a gun model but still shot dodge balls but I guess that is to fit with the theme.
I also agree with @Mektidas you should add some screenshots and a cover image, but I understand you were busy the last few weeks.
Anyways, congrats on finishing your jam! :)
Awesome idea, so hard to play though, or maybe I'm just bad haha.
Wow, such a cool idea, but I wish the controls were a little easier to understand.
I also agree with @Smiling Cat Entertainment but I understand how little time there is so balance things like that.
The music is really nice too, which really adds to the expirience!
Awesome job!
Very cool game, I really need to relearn what an adverb is haha!
If they provide images, gameplay video, board pdf and printable stuff then it would be better.
Someone made a card game before
Not sure really
Wow, I loved it. Only suggestion would be to make the drumroll a little shorter. Really has that Jackbox feel!
Congrats on 1st in so many caregories!
I think there are a few excerts from http://ludumdare.com/compo/old-rules/ that are important to read

It's never been meant to be a perfect voting system, and is obviously easy to abuse, but that's ok. In the end, it still encourages people to create a game, and to give feedback to others. Finally, looking at the final results, you still can find amazing games like this one to play if you want. The exact placement doesn't matter much, what matters is what Ludum Dare helps people to do, and that the top games are well made.
I've been doing this since LD30 now (every LD from then to now inclusive), and there have always been abuses, but that is ok.
I feel Ludum Dare is fulfilling it's intended purpose.
@David-Boeger I agree with that. Encase you are curious, here are all the pages from the old site:
http://ludumdare.com/compo/rules/ http://ludumdare.com/compo/about-ludum-dare/ http://ludumdare.com/compo/faq/ http://ludumdare.com/compo/old-rules/
EVERYONE, please end the discussion here, on a good note. If you want to discuss about the voting system, talk about that here: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/bumper-buddies/the-closing-respectful-post-thank-you-ludum-dears#/comment-209771
please don't keep bothering @smallboss .
And @smallboss , you should be proud of your accomplishments, you made a very polished and fun game in only 72 hours, following a pretty hard theme. Just because people have had some accusations should not make you not feel proud, I am sad to hear this :( . Good luck on your future ventures as well.
Another note for everyone:
Take a load off....
relax.....

Very cool idea, I can't believe you made it in only 6 hours!
I was very surprised when the buttons switched. Sadly, they switched for me at a bad time, and made me instantly die.
Very cool idea. I have no idea how you got it done so quick!
It's kind of like browsing Google Street View
