LD37 — One room

DISCOCUBE by BathPirate 2016-12-14T00:35:00

This game is really cool! I think it has a unique puzzle mechanic that is really easy to learn but hard to master. The music and sound effects are pretty perfect. It has enough levels to keep you entertained for a bit. Very nicely done for such a short amount of time developing it!

Roomba's Revenge by MessinaBrothers 2016-12-13T07:09:00

The intro was super cute and creative! The game matches roomba's sounds perfectly. I love how it feels like poor roomba is dying when the battery level is critical. The overall style is great, from the menu to the scoreboard, the design is fantastic. The graphics are perfect as well. The music made me feel like I was on a noble quest to destroy all the lamps. The actual gameplay could use a little variety though, as there isn't much replay value. Overall, a cute, fun and well-executed game!

One Cock at The Top by kn2322 2016-12-13T06:08:00

On Windows 10 and get same error as the others: a cmd prompt comes up, some text appears, a window opens, then they all close. Cannot run game.

Norton and Mary by dude_the_hero 2016-12-13T03:39:00

It's surprisingly hard! The rat's AI is pretty good as he kept slamming me into the spikes. Drawings are very cute. Good work!

Coloroom by rootools 2016-12-13T02:08:00

Cool concept, and the color "moving" works great! But it's pretty hard to move your character around. I found myself falling all the way back down multiple times since the cursor would snap down there without me realizing.

ants. by mkl 2016-12-30T06:54:00

As danielilett mentioned, the text cutting off was a bit odd, but the intro cutscene was cute! I liked the music and how it built upon the music in the cutscene. Game was really simple and quick, but now that you've made the first level, you should be able to make lots more and make it a full game. One note: it would be better if the camera tracked a little farther in front of your ant. Congrats on making your first game!

Witching Morning by not-a-hazard 2016-12-15T07:03:00

The art is so great! The hourglass is very well done, and the game is fun. It was satisfying to finally be ready for class! Great work.

My Name Is LD-37 by goncalo-monteiro 2016-12-14T00:41:00

I think you've got the beginnings of a cool game! I like the art, animations, and music. The story itself is very short, but now that you've got the game foundations set, you can make it a full-fledged game!

flwr truss plus by wscones 2016-12-14T08:32:00

A very weird and sometimes frustrating game with a handful of cool moments. I really like the effect when going through the "portals" and the visuals in general are delightfully trippy. The gameplay itself isn't much fun, and the controls are not pleasant. Overall, it's unique, but I ALT-F4'd out of it after a few mins of putting the same stuff into the same bucket.

Escape The Room by egordorichev 2016-12-13T07:23:00

I love the way that the light from the character causes walls and rooms to light and dim realistically, even though it's all represented by ASCII art! It's got a dwarf fortress vibe to it, but it a much more accessible way, and has hints of metroid and zelda. Who knew a bunch of ASCII characters could sum up to such a cool and deep game!

VR Block Buster by jerwil 2016-12-23T20:58:00

Thanks for trying to launch the game! Those that have had trouble with it, I have found that chrome works the best, and it may take a few page refreshes to get the game to load without errors. However, it doesn't seem to work at all on Mac.

Little Sandwich by NumNumDude 2016-12-14T07:03:00

It's a cute and surprisingly long adventure to get your sandwich assembled (and then eaten)! It got frustratingly difficult in some areas, but with the right timing it can be beaten.

Incinerator Room by joh 2016-12-13T07:01:00

Very cute intro! It's tough, but addicting. The controls are tight, but I wish that the control buttons could be reconfigured since I dislike pressing the up arrow for jump. Overall a cool concept!

Army Of One by lekiy 2016-12-15T07:18:00

A very cool game! It seems impossibly hard at first, but I got the hang of it and eventually made it to the bank. The game has cool little details, like how destroying just the plane would cause the bombs to fall on the cars, and how throwing items at enemies kills them. The sound effects are a bit grating, but it definitely sounded like a laser. Good work!

Window Crawler by Chao 2016-12-15T06:45:00

Such a cool and well-executed concept! It was also fun to play too and quite addicting as I wanted to see what each new room would contain. The enemies were tough and pretty cool! I really like the sound effect used when the skeleton throws it's green fireballs. Overall, a really great and innovative game. Great job!

The Undersea Room of Jack Sisu by dingotime 2016-12-15T07:32:00

THIS GAME IS SO GREAT! The concept may not be completely original, but it fits the theme well, and it's a very well-made game. I like the little details like the propellers killing the fish, and the diminishing returns on photographing the same whale. The game is quite funny too, and the art and music are great. I can't wait to try it with my girlfriend so we can well at each other about whales and fish :P. Overall, very great job!

Table Jockey by BluShine 2016-12-30T07:31:00

Definitely and innovative game! Who knew arranging a room could be so hard. The controls are a bit zany, but that adds to the challenge of the game. The sound effects were a little annoying, but it was better than silence. The graphics were simple but effective. The whole thing was pretty funny as well. Overall, great job!

Defend the Room by shaulor 2017-01-03T05:02:00

Pretty good game! I like the variety of enemies, and the graphics work well. I felt like a badass shooting 4 bullets at once! But then I ran out of ammo and died. Quite fun!

Magic Trial by dusho 2016-12-30T07:23:00

Very well done! The graphics and sound effects are simple, but they work well. I liked feeling like a badass and destroying all the "minions" with a single charged shot before they got to me. Good difficulty ramp as well, and it was challenging, fun, and addictive. Great work!

eCubed³ by flwns 2016-12-15T06:34:00

Very well done! I like the portal effect, and for the most part it is implemented well! The sound effects work well too, and the gameplay is pretty interesting. I did find that most of the puzzles were guess-and-check style since it was hard to figure out where the portal would exit before venturing through. Overall, very impressive!

Turtle Fork by aucguy 2016-12-30T08:00:00

You shouldn't be so hard on yourself... this game is very cool! You managed to get a text based "programming" language inside of a game, and it works well! It would be nice if it could be sped up to make testing quicker, and some audio would be nice, but overall it's a nice concept that is well executed!

Man Cave Defense by Interface 2017-01-03T05:29:00

Some pretty cute concepts at work here. I like that you're "killing time" and the resource management is interesting. It would be cool if other items could be damaged instead of just the stereo and TV. The sound effects were pretty cute as well!

Upwards by mao 2016-12-13T06:21:00

Very hard to control, so near impossible to advance past the start. I feel like there needs to be more "stick" time during the wall jump. Would also help if jump button was something like spacebar to make it easier to control (arrow key up is awkward). Graphics are cool, and dog animations are cute!

Cozy Christmas Village by juxipolo 2016-12-30T07:50:00

Very cute! I like how all the action happens on a table in a room. Like others have stated, some UI improvements would help, but this is super impressive for 2 days of work! I love the RCT games, so this was easy to pick up and fun for me.

Softlock by MCRewind 2016-12-13T06:47:00

This game has really good concepts, and is so clean looking! Some of the puzzles are pretty punishing if you push a block too far, but once you figure out the puzzle it 's satisfying. There are some game-breaking bugs though, causing the block not to be able to pass certain points, making the game impossible to progress. Work out the bugs, and it could make for a great game!

Don't Help Me by lgbpaiva 2016-12-13T05:33:00

Really cool concept and vibe! The graphics really fit the mood, and the weapon is innovative. Cool art as well! But some problems with execution: killing multiple enemies at a time makes for an awful noise, game can be beaten by just standing in the middle and holding the left arrow down, game time is too slow/takes too long to beat, ending is confusing. You've got a really cool idea though, and I think with a little tweaking it would be a great game!

O.R. Escape by CookieMonster249 2016-12-15T07:43:00

Pretty cool! I like the lighting, it makes it mysterious and added to the difficulty. The room design was great as well. It was a little hard to figure out that the crates were ammo at first, and sometimes zombies just spawned right in front of me and caused damage. I would have also liked a way to "win" the game. Overall, good work!

Otaku Den by Tezra 2016-12-13T06:04:00

I think this one is great! It fits the theme perfectly, and it's really cute and innovative. I actually found it quite addicting to get the "perfect room" with $0 and 0 space left. Thanks for the cool game!

20 Seconds to Die by Squid 2016-12-13T05:53:00

I really love this one! It's a cool concept that takes a few rounds to understand, but it's very nail-biting and satisfying when you finally figure it out and beat it! Graphics are great, and it fits the theme perfectly. One suggestion: it would be nice if your "program" from the last round persisted so you could just tweak what you did last time. Also, ability to add steps between steps when "programming." But I do think it's great overall.

Frank Shatner in The Helmet of Destiny by ThatGuyMiniB 2016-12-13T07:39:00

The good:
-The lighting is great, especially the light cast by the projectiles.
-Controls are fluid, and it's easy to aim well after some practice.
-Camera shake effect is satisfying

The bad:
-OMG, as others have mentioned the voice overs are just terrible. The self-deprecating ones were the only slightly amusing bits, otherwise it's a large detractor.
-Game gets very repetitive. I guess I didn't get enough kills to unlock further modes or levels, but it was too boring to hang on at that point. Ramping difficulty would help!

Overall a fun game with some good looks (and some bad sounds)!

Gun Shop Loadout by Green Soda 2016-12-15T07:56:00

This is a great, fun game! The art was great, and I thought it was funny how the other survivors ran around. The music fit the mood well, and it was well made. The game even has a pause menu! There were a few bugs away, such as survivors piling up near their "interaction spots" and the zombie groaning just loops during the pause menu. But overall, a very solid game that was fun to beat!

The Last Fish by PickleCrew 2016-12-14T06:52:00

Very funny, and decently fun to play! It's a lot more morbid than it seems at first, but that makes it even funnier. Good work!

behold the cryptic by ooku 2016-12-30T07:03:00

Very innovative! I've never played a game like this before that involves rhythm. the visuals were quirky, but cool and well done. The typing effects and wrong tempo/letter indicators were perfect. Main complaint is that the pulsing of the letter drifted from the beat of the song, making it even more difficult. The scoring was also quite confusing as I had 0 or 1 points after completing a few words in a row. Overall, great job and very unique!

Mr. Barbel VS Hell Vise by onixowl 2016-12-13T06:33:00

A great concept with some really interesting control scheme! It's fun for the first 20 or so rounds, then it becomes pretty repetitive once you've figure out the best way to control your character and the levels start repeating. The "time limit" mechanism is confusing at first, but then it makes sense!

RoomEscapeEscape by ijona 2016-12-30T06:49:00

The voice was cool, reminded me of Dr. Sbaitso. Although he does say "nothing strange" about a chair attached to the ceiling! The ending for me was just a black room, so not sure if I beat it. Pretty amusing, and plays with the theme pretty well!
