Well done. Simple and addictive. Finding the exit kept me busy for a bit there.

Well done. Simple and addictive. Finding the exit kept me busy for a bit there.
Overall great fun, love it. Audio fits well with the graphics and sets the right mood. Those meteors or fireballs or whatever are tricksy!
What if the bridge would wobble for a nightmare mode?
I love me some lemmings. Well done.
Did find a bug, the critters' physics will with the object under your mouse cursor before you've placed it.
Really cool entry. Nice graphics, music, etc. Very good overall.
The intro music is nice, you should have kept it playing during the card game. Takes a bit to figure out, but seems well thought out.
Web link isn't working... I'll try again later.
Hah, nice and simple, good job!
This is the second game I've been unable to run - with the same icon. Is this XNA?
The music is nice, fits well with the game. A bit fast for me, but overall pretty good.
Great mood, the music does a lot. Nice and clean graphics, Love it.
Fun little game. Text and music are more retro than the graphics.
More difficult than it looks. Catchy tune setting a fun mood. Great job.
Great mood, simple but challenging gameplay - the controls are a big difficult. Nice entry!
Nice game and fun to play. The yellow snowballs (um, what?) keep you in the game - took me a few tries to figure out how the ratio of snowballs needed versus gained worked.
Avast does not like your game at all... (blocked as a virus) sorry, couldn't play :-(
Interesting concept, took me a while to figure it out though, perhaps a small explanation would help. Also, gfx update and some music would set a serious mood on this. Solid entry, with some polish this could be a really cool game!
Interesting concept, high score for innovation! Definitely room for expansion and polish, hope you will take this entry further after the jam.
Nice user of the theme. I found it pretty hard and took me a while to figure exactly what was needed. Overall good entry!
Really cool. I'll try again now that I know I need a carrier to destroy the enemy mother ship :)
Did get any audio although some people seem to be commenting it's good. Like the gfx, wish they were a bit bigger so I could see them better :-)
Great little game. Had an issue with bombs exploding on themselves right in front of me, probably because I was wildly clicking :-) But it's fun.
Great job. Good mood, fun puzzle to play. I like it, I'll have to come back to try and play through!
I really like the concept, works great and fun to play. The fork lift coming by every now and then is a nice touch! Placing boxes is a bit awkward - perhaps slowing it down as suggested by zaabi995 may work.
Had some issues with lag but seems like an interesting concept. Even if you didn't finish, try to finish it soon - don't let it slip!
Looks promising, hopefully you'll work on this after the competition. Could use a fast forward on the dialog.
Great game, the background chatter is hilarious! Sticky walls are a bit cumbersome but not too bad, my one issue is the graphics sometimes cause walls to be almost invisible. A few times I thought, hey I can go through there, only to see a wall appear as I was turning. Great mood, well done.
Love the style and graphics with fitting sound effects. Needs a great bleepy-blop soundtrack for a perfect old school mood :-) Overall really fun game.
Can't run it - crashes before it even comes up. I'm on Windows 8. Looks interesting though.
Really awesome game. At wave 9 and only lost 1 house so far. Not sure why you eliminated so many categories. Fun and Mood would surely have scored well.
Thanks for updating, changed my ratings :-)
Pretty fun game, the upbeat music is fitting. Overall good mood and great fun. Timing's a bit of an issue, but that's probably my lack of skills :-)
Nice, really liked it although I absolutely suck. Would be great with some 8bit music to go with that style. Great job.
Great job overall. Would have been nice to start off a bit slow though, right from the beginning it's pretty intense!
The camera got stuck at some point, not sure what I did or what happened. Overall good entry though.
Fun little game, I was going nuts on machine guns but that only works so long :-) Great job.
This game must be old considering Titanic is in the background!? Nice touch! Like the graphics, not very innovative but very nice entry overall.
Haha, pretty funny. I like the sound effects, where did you get those? I think if you improve your art skills for next time, entries like this do pretty well overall I think.
Pretty fun, innovative and nice interpretation of the theme. Good job.
Great entry, loved playing it. The end.
Nice. The level layout looks vaguely familiar ;-) Good stuff, great mood with the music.
Too bad you didn't finish it, I do feel you're onto something. It's fun already...
Fantastic. Great arcade fun, well done.
Thanks for all the feedback so far. I like the keyboard shortcuts idea that many people threw out. Showing a "ghost" image of where your block will be placed as your moving your mouse is one other thing I've heard that would resolve some frustration.
I'm not a fan of allowing to place blocks while in pause mode or prior to the ball rolling. Although it's an interesting idea it would change the game drastically.
Interesting concept, but needs a bit of work.
Great interpretation of the theme. Bad news is, I had nobody to play with. Good news is, I won!
Innovative and great use of the theme. Concept is great but - wait, I think I got a text...
Haha, great entry. Difficult controls, they remind me a bit of this old car racer game that I'm totally blanking out on. Anyway, great job.
Mouse seemed a bit too laggy for quick turning around, but great entry!
Enjoyable puzzle game. Will have to come back to play more. Well done.
I've never had "EXPECT GLITCHES" hold me back. Didn't run into anything major. Good job!
The loading keeps getting stuck at 83 or 88% :-(
I had no idea what to expect. And it wasn't at all what I expected, lol. A few bugs but solid entry for ld.
Nicely done. Music sets the mood well. Pretty difficult though. Well done.
Great entry, good fun. Well done.
I didn't realize out you could drag the windows at first though. Now that I do: interesting way to use the theme, well done!
Pretty difficult, couldn't finish it. Great interpretation of the theme.
Simple, but solid - great first time entry, congrats!
Good mood, interesting concept.
Like the graphics, simple but elegant. Interesting ideas and depth with the upgrades, but needs something to make it a bit more fun.
Hah, interesting idea! Surprisingly addictive :)
Booted out of office! I guess I didn't give those puny villagers enough of a beating!!
This is pretty awesome. Pretty innovative mechanics, very cool.
Great stuff, and the music didn't make me sneeze or anything (point for humor!). As usual you've gone into some depth, so I'll have to revisit to figure out all the upgrades etc.
Great puzzle game, not easy though. Jumping is a little hard to master. Well polished with the animations including the menu. I did manage to get stuck in the walls a few times =)
Option A. Adding music would allow you to really set a great mood.
Nicely done. Great job putting some variation in the gameplay. The car chase was great. Your animations are and graphics are pretty funny. The jumping controls need some work.
The deer go fast, that was a quick ramp up all of a sudden. Graphics could use improvement, it's a bit hard on the eyes, but the game is solid and I like the music.
This was really funny, great mood with the voice acting and the music - lol.
Great fun. Interesting mechanics, challenging. Fits the theme really well.
Great game, controls need work though. I guess we all know what game this reminds us off, but it's all good. Not sure how you found the time do all the voice acting etc. Great work.
Great game and love the graphics. Really great entry.
Funny game. The WASD controls didn't quite do what I expected at first, but makes sense.
Nice game, the puzzles are well designed with the dimension switching. Controls were a bit stiff, but that's probably a subjective thing.
Couldn't get the gamejolt web version to load at all. Not sure if it's my version of unity or what. Download worked fine.
Great mood, and simple and effective controls. Great job.
Nice game, but pretty hard with insta death on switching (without knowing where you'll end up), and complicated controls. Perhaps a way to get back to the help screen, or on-screen tutorials of some kind.
Ran out of ammo real quickly, drove around for a long time, avoiding the turrets (they did eventually kill me but it was relatively easy to avoid getting shot). But I couldn't find any ammo pickups?
Turning was a bit awkward but it worked.
Cool graphics and great mechanic. As others mentioned, checkpoints or ways to save progress would be good.
Was able to get my stuck in the level with some swapping :-) Great concept, a bit easy though.
Great entry! I like the puzzles, nice ideas of combining powers. Good music. Solid entry.
Nice effect on the graphics. A little hard for me but good game.
I was almost there but hit a wall full on and no way to recover, although I had almost full health. Nice game, would have loved to see the unconventional bomb at the end I guess, but don't want to start over :-) Maybe I'll come back later. Good job.
Overall a well made game. Nice gfx, great music. Simple put nice gameplay, fits the theme well. Great job.
Good job. I liked the music, great mood. Controls aren't too bad once you figure them out. The biggest issue is how you can get stuck when you have enemies in close proximity.
Simple but addictive. After hitting accept for that first hire the screen went black in IE11, consistently. Worked fine in Chrome tho.
Perfect game for the theme, great mood with the music and the gfx. Lot of fun, great game!
I got nothing. You win. Interesting idea. Had trouble opening the menu in the web version.
Great innovative idea on the theme. Takes a bit to figure out exactly what can be done, but great concept.
Squeek! I guess they can dodge too! Had some difficulty to correctly aim for a particular row (depth?). Simple but fun game. Plane spamming only works for so long :-)
Great game, fits well with the theme. Music sets a great mood. Overall really solid entry!
I like the music and the graphics. Solid entry, although a bit buggy. Did end up outside the cafeteria at some point, I assume that's not supposed to happen :-) Also had negative health but ended up winning.
Can't wait for my daughter to be old enough to help out.
Always fun to try some novel idea for gameplay. As said by others, controls are a bit hard.
Solid entry. Simple but fun to play.
Great entry. I hate to repeat other comments, but the music sets a great mood, well done.
Almost made it! Incredibly fun, great game.
Great idea. Audio would be good to set a mood. A bit short, but then who am I to say :-)
Good game!
Nice entry. Not as easy as it looks! May be a good candidate for a mobile game with touch. Just saying :-)
Nice game. I'll have to come back and play your after jam version when I get a chance.
Interesting mechanic, but not easy.
Great game and good mood thanks to the music and graphics. Solid entry, good job guys!
Lol, this is a challenge to rate. It's... interesting :-)
LOL!
Wow, didn't see that coming. Quite the turn of events (and mood). Great job.
Too much coffee and sugar for the baby, he can be a bit hyper :-) Although there's not many, I really like the graphics.
I figured the mouse was sensitive for other people, which is why there's a settings option to change that ;-)
Thanks all for the feedback!
I like it. And you're right, it's better on a multi-touch screen :-)
Good stuff for your first entry. Didn't quite get to destroying any houses. Great mood!
For sure one of my favorite entries. Love this game. Great mechanic, really fun and nice graphics.
Interesting controls with the head tilting. This could make for a good touch-enabled game maybe.
Addictive and innovative, great game!
Love it. You should make this into a mobile game and put it on the app stores, this seems like a perfect fit.
Simple mechanic but surprisingly challenging. Nice music.
Good game, challenging but in a good way. Music was fitting for the mood, good use of theme.
Interesting concept. Seemed a bit easy to just stay under the bed until I won? How do you get up to the top level of the house?
Great idea, simple but effective little game.
Pretty funny. Not sure if i'm just not getting it but some didn't seem to react to input at all, where others were pretty reactive. Like, you have a screenshot of the lego brick on the ground so it's clear what should be done. But I couldn't get that red brick to move anywhere...
Total destruction! Agreed it was pretty bad playing in Chrome, surprisingly. Audio gets a bit annoying after a while.
Great mood thanks to the music. The dino sounds are hilarious. Good stuff!
Great entry, perfect use of one of the themes. I like the animations! Great mood music but you turned off the category for mood and audio? Why? :-)
On Windows, using Chrome worked best - IE didn't work at all and Edge didn't have the background music (it did have the sfx.
Simple and effective. Great game with a message.
Of course I pressed 'J' at the end! Good stuff. No idea how I killed the mouse eventually, but I did.
Great game, addictive!
Fantastic game. Perfect for Ludum Dare. Congrats, one of my favorites so far!
The family sure takes a lot of upkeep. Can't keep the money in their pockets :-) Good game. The cows are a life saver!
Pretty disturbing. I guess the "game of choice" wasn't actually for the person playing through this since this was very linear, unless I missed it.
Cool stuff. This looks like a good candidate for a post-compo game. I did notice going back to a previous hut and then going forward again triggers the same enemies again.
I think it's been said plenty already but the collisions could be a bit better. It was a lot of restarting the level because of accidentally pushed boulders or swallowed burgers. Still, fun puzzler.
Took a bit to learn to use the controls but once I got the hang of it it was pretty good fun. Better audio cold have created a really good mood to improve overall score I think. Good work.
I was about to say, make a post-compo and then I saw your comment here. Probably a great mobile game candidate to publish. Great puzzle game.
A bit complicated to figure out (needing a PDF to explain is not a good sign :-)) but ultimately it's not too bad to get it. Music sets a good mood.
I really suck at this game :-) Takes some practice to master the controlling of the vehicle but overall I like it. Also, the exe crashed when closing - no big deal since I was closing anyway but just so you know.
194! Simple game, I like the gfx. A bit much of just going back and forth, perhaps some interesting powerups or jumping to expand it a bit?
Great entry. I like your randomness in the shapeshifting animation; my tetris blocks always shift to the same position. Some bugs with shape shifting and colliding, but then again I have something weird in mine too :-)
This looks to be your first entry so don't be discouraged by running out of time. You'll get better with each LD.
On the right is your "inventory" of shapes you can shift into. Every time you break through a wall you use that shape. To prevent running out of possible shapes to shift into you need to clear lines with a shape.
You can also clear lines to make room for a different shape than the intended one - if you're out of that particular shape for example.
Yes, I noticed that last night. Just looked at it again - was a stupid logic error. I fixed it and re-uploaded all builds and source.
For the record: for original build & code downloads strip -V2 from the filename. The only code change was two lines in ShadowShape.cs
@JJJANEE - if you're playing on PC I encourage you to use the mouse and not the wasd keys, but both should work and I haven't run into the issue you're describing... Are you using keyboard or game controller? I meant for this to work on a controller but haven't had a chance to try it myself...
@kiesenversiest - I agree it would be good to explain a bit better. I wanted to keep the number of buttons to a minimum which I think worked ok, but I didn't get around to creating a progression or a tutorial of some kind (which is what I've done on my recent LD entries). Feedback taken.
TEWT TOOT! Pretty funny commentary. Didn't play past level3 (yet :-)), but good game.
Well, it is (as listed on itch.io) a ripoff of an existing game, but nonetheless it's a good game :-)
Pretty fun, Tijn. I did pretty decent on the cuts, I guess. As usual, fantastic audio! :-)
Fantastic entry. I finally almost got to destroy everything but failed right at the end :-( Will have to come back to try and see the ending. The kitchen is tough.
Well done. I hadn't figured out that I need the mouse too, until I read the comments here so I went back. A bit short I guess, but well executed.
Great mood, great story with a message. 401K! I may have to let it sink in and play again :-)
I like the style a lot. The puzzles are ok. You need a different key to shape-shift... "shift" was a funny idea but I keep activating Windows' sticky keys feature :-)
Simple and easy to understand. Seems like a good touch-based game for mobile where you can move quicker.
Pretty challenging but I like it. Solid game all around.
Great narrative. Typically not my kind of game but I kept playing :-)
Nice music, good graphics. I like the idea someone said of gradually increasing speed, it would help to learn how to play the game.
Awesome entry!
Lots of bugs in your game! Yeah, really! lol
Anyway, nice entry with all the bases covered. Moving around was a bit slow.
Only saw one other spray can, not sure if I just missed any other cans anywhere?
Controls aren't easy but pretty fun game. Great entry for compo!
Simple but effective game. Solid LD entry.
Very innovative, and I have a weakness for puzzle games so I love it. Easy to play as far as controls go. Great entry!
Very detailed for a compo entry, great job! Also had issues with the cursor not activating on all the panels, only some. I couldn't get far because of that, but great entry from what I've been able to try!
I figured the colors had something to do with it. I managed 5 hours but no more than that :-)
Nice innovation, very original. Great entry, good job! Probably post-compo worthy!
aaaleee: you can use arrow keys to scroll around if that's what you mean by not being able to see it?
Genuinely creepy. Loved the graphics, music. Awesome entry. As someone else mentioned, thanks for skipping any screaming.
Good entry across the board. One day I'll get past the bears! lol
Ok, I finally beat it!!
And omg, where did you get all the Santaur jokes? I recognize some as Chuck Norris ones :)
I guess chemistry is not my thing :-)
Great entry, I like it!
Good compo entry. Still trying to figure a good strategy, I guess I suck at this game :-)
Some of the turrets/guns disappear between rounds. First I though they all were supposed to go as part of the challenge, but some actually didn't so not sure if it's a bug or I missed something.
Balancing Tower Defense in 48h is stuff, I had the same challenge. But solid entry and looking forward to any post-compo updates!
Good entry. I think you could add a lot of interesting things in a post-compo version, go for it! :-)
Considering my entry is same genre and all, I can appreciate the work here and the fact you have as much visuals as you do. Good mood and style, great entry!
Great game, fairly addictive. It's simple to just jump in and play. Obvious good use of the theme. I like what others have said about multiplayer... I think combined with some music which would set a great mood and you have a really neat multiplayer arcade game!
Challenging and surprisingly long for a compo entry. The mood was great, and I liked the graphics. Using the dashing capability was definitely needed. Took me a while to figure out using the "float" move properly. Great entry.
@incredible-ape yes I agree and actually I fiddled with the throwing force for a while, at least varying the force based on size or direction but couldn't quite get the feel right. Good point that allowing the player to control the force would have totally worked, that completely escaped me. Perhaps hold the mouse click to power up the force or something, hm.
I'm not sure how I was supposed to figure out the pattern. The "pre-fire" pattern shown didn't seem to necessarily match the actual firing? Also, first three levels you have enough health to get through but level 4 is all of a sudden way harder. Anyway, it was good jam game though, graphics are decent and music is cool setting a good mood. Controls responsive. Perhaps balancing the game more would make it even better?
Interesting mechanic, but a few bugs. I didn't figure out how to get moving quickly enough to avoid the red block blowing up my yellow ones. Guess I'm no good at it :-) I also had a block stuck at some point. In Unity you can block the physics of an object to rotate around a certain axis which should help.
Cool. I need to look at your source on how you did the tentacles, I need a string-like feature for a game I wanted to do. Anyways, great mechanic and not too easy. I tried ramming the keyboard to try and cheat lol. Almost worked until I started moving backward =) Great sfx as well.
@huitre ah yes I've tried the hinges. It worked but I need lots of them and it was a little cpu-heavy (I tried to run as a phone game).
After failing before 1000 forever, I finally found a strategy for the keys. Mostly used only two of them lol. 3388 is my best. It sure was going fast! Was the any benefit to killing things? (points or something?)
Wow, you took the juggling piece to the extreme. I have a stacking game and juggling is a nice side effect lol. I can appreciate the work you put in this. Hope you'll try to finish the game post-compo anyway and definitely try again next LD.
Really cool mechanic. As usual the simple ideas are absolutely the best. I had one bug where i had spawned two blocks (one half way down and a new one at the top) and they moved together. I agree with some other commenters - this deserves a post-compo version. I'm thinking powerups etc? The two tanks duking it out sounds like a cool idea too.
I quit anyway! :-) The trick was that the piggies don't move very fast vertically and their path finding around houses etc was simple so that's the way to avoid them! Simple short game but that's what the jam is about. Nice job!
Hit a weird bug first time I played. I couldn't kill the other guy and if I ran "into him" it would spawn beers like crazy. I gave but then decided to go back once more and then it behaved. Not sure what that first time was all about. Anyway, interesting idea, reversing the controls after too many beers :-) You could probably come up with more ideas for being tipsy... but I know, 48hrs =)
Interesting idea. But the blocks don't go faster over time it seems? So the capitalism part is just to cheat, because it's easy to get money. But perhaps that's the idea - hm, thought-provoking =)
Death scream scared the hell out of me when I first heard. Other sounds are subdued but that just jumped at me lol. Anyway, not an easy game but worked well. Sounds effects were well done (sure, even the scream ;-)).
The collision bug got me past a whole section lol! Anyway, died literally at the last turn on the last level. Nice game, I liked the animations to give the game a lively feel and the music set a great mood.
This.Is.Hilarious. Tears-inducing laughter. I'm still playing but just had to post something.
Hehe, nice game-over message. About bugs, only thing I noticed was sometimes it wouldn't actually shoot even though I had enough ammo? Anyway, not bad at all. Should have used the joystick for some button smashing :-)
Argh! I suck! :-) Didn't get to the end but I'll try to revisit later. Great mood with the music.
Really cool, simple idea and executed very well! Couldn't get past the wolves, kept getting mauled :-(
Waw, this was HARD. My burgers ended up looking good but just couldn't get it delivered. Ended up trying to kick it over to the customer lol. Anyway, serving was really hard. But really cool idea for a mechanic and great mood.
As usual, some very deep mechanics. I'll admit I had some trouble figuring out what was going on while playing. The explanation in the beginning helps, but once I started playing I wish I good go back to some help (or did I miss that option?) Took me several defeats before I started getting the hang of it. Great work!
Thanks for playing. The placing tiles until the game "starts" was a deliberate but admittedly debatable design choice. It would be easy to change. I also debated to let removed tiles go back into your inventory. Choices, choices. It adds to the difficulty, for sure. I agree more can be done for polish, more types of tiles etc. Did you play with the editor at all?
Working on a post-compo version. Physics issues addressed (required two different jump blocks to fix the levels). Bunch of other fixes as well as a level intro text, used also as a welcome message on startup.
Took me some time to figure out which direction I was facing, which is of course needed for the WASD shooting. Reminds me of the old Atari Asteroids game :-) Interested to hear more about your Godot experience!
It's funny how some here are saying it was difficult, others too easy. I thought it definitely wasn't easy. Really liked the art style and mood. The love as weapon concept and filling up hearts was a nice mechanic. I did get to 0 on the enemies but nothing happened?
AArgh,I missed that. Will go back!! Thanks :-)
Good stuff. Moving the ship was tedious but overall you could argue that adds to the mechanic and of course a ship doesn't just turn on a dime anyway. I didn't play fullscreen at first and couldn't figure out why it wasn't firing, but it's because the mouse isn't captured so i was clicking outside the bounds of the game window. Going fullscreen solved that for me.
Great jam game. Simple mechanic, simple but great graphics and music. Really great entry. One thing though, it's pretty difficult. Some tweaking and balancing can probably really improve the game; there's no good way to wait or get around viruses for example. Also can't pickup multiple items so to do one by one, so it seems almost impossible.
I was playing at first and couldn't really see the point. Came back and read some comment, and per what people were saying skipped to a much higher level. That was a lot better and it made sense! So I would agree, it builds to slowly, the first level seems pointless and I didn't get it. Maybe a few more clues to somehow indicate a cell is adjacent or not (red/green etc visual clues)? I think with a bit more polish to indicate the game mechanic, this will likely be a great puzzle game. Would play again, great work!
Great concept to blend the narrative with a simple mechanic (but not easy - some areas were hard to traverse) and stroll through the pixel art. I admit I missed the deer a few times and don't think I found the end. I will have to come back and try to finish it. Great game!
Others have mentioned, the delay is fairly long. I didn't use the teleport much at all since it could make a situation worse. Perhaps an extra system of getting 3 lives before you actually day may offset the teleportation randomness?
I've always wanted to try to implement a grappling hook myself but I just dread the physics lol. Anyway, great work here! There were some times where I couldn't quite see what would come next, and the hook doesn't reel in quickly enough to do like a spiderman move lol. I did get a lucky bug where I fell to my death on the health recharges, which happen to also be savepoints. So I died but came right back on the spot where I died :-)
230 coins is my personal best.
The slow movement was intentional to add to the difficulty, but it's good to get the feedback that it doesn't feel right. I'm using the standard camera follow option from GameMaker, which isn't exactly ideal. I could widen the margin so it starts scrolling sooner which may help. Thanks for the feedback!
@lazyalarm steel drums. The slow controls were intentional for the feel as well as difficulty but many people have commented on it so yeah... live and learn :-)
@lelulagames Yeah I'm really bad at art so this is about as good as I can muster on my own. Given the compo doing everything from scratch and having only 48h (minus sleep and eat etc. I spent 25 hours on this game), there's only so much you can do :-) I'm not much of composer either, so yeah I can only get a few sound effects recorded, and a small loop going within the time limit. And glad you found the mute button, that is EXACTLY what it is for! lol I definitely had wanted to do a bit more art (maybe more incohesion lol) like a parallax perhaps, and more bubbles as part of the scenery were part of the plan, but no time.
I'm not planning to take this game any further. It's not my style of game (playing or developing) but since I wanted to try GameMaker over Unity for once, this felt like an appropriate easy game to develop with a new toolset...
@gustavo-christino waw dude, thanks for the analysis :-)
Great entry! The music set the right mood for the frantic tapping (mobile) I was doing. The buttons are a little small for playing on mobile. I don’t quite understand how people are getting those high scores lol. I need to try again! Again!
Cool! Love the sounds! Got a high score of 48 after a few tries. Not sure if it's intentional but it's nice you can go out of bounds to catch a ship that got away lol One issue is that you can get hit multiple times by the same attacker, so your health can go down to zero with just 1 hit essentially.
I like the look, great polish. Fantastic mood with the music/sfx, the suspense is killing me! Not a fan of the mouse click for rotation, I think I would have preferred keyboard for rotation and mouse click for placement? I didn't quite realize the use of the bombs at first but once I ran out further down it hit me lol.
So... how deep does it really go? :-)
This was pretty difficult! I was a bit confused the first time around hitting the end of the pipe and ending up in a platform-style game lol. A few recommendations: I'm not sure what the collision box is when going down, but I had to sort of find the right imaginary boundary on when to move. Not sure if you can visualize the box or make it smaller or what, but that made it hard to figure out. Because it's quite hard, it would be nice to be able to retry immediately without getting put back in the bathroom. Don't get me wrong - the bathroom looks absolutely amazing and deserves showing off! :-) But to try and get into your game, it would be good to have quick retry options instead of the level select every time.
As usual the pixel art is outstanding. I can't believe the amount of content you put in during the jam (the art, the levels, the mechanics). My character had some lazy moments, when I selected an enemy for attack, a path lit up and I hit space, he would just wait for the enemies to come to him lol. I'm happy to see you're doing a post-jam game, this is very promising.
Good job guys. I liked the graphics and sounds, the concept is great. I struggled a bit with the controls, the jumping and moving while in the air seemed a bit stiff and sometimes unpredictable. I also did have a few unlucky runs where the platform disappeared and I had nothing nowhere to get to... I liked the different types of platform. The jumping one was good to have. I think you could make a nice post-jam version of this for sure.
Addictive! :-) I love the games that are simple to grasp (easy controls, simple mechanics to understand), yet are engaging and addictive. This is an awesome entry. I suck at the drawing but I guess it's pretty forgiving. I had a hard time getting far lol. But seeing streamers play it I wonder if you could add some difficulty setting... perhaps if you cover too many pixels outside of the drawing it doesn't count or something? :-) I was going to comment the left side seemed very favored by the demons but I guess you've already answered that I have to be able to get further down? Anyway, love it pretty much in all categories.
ASMR game, love it! Seriously though, this is a great entry. I had some trouble with the play area being larger than my browser window so had to scroll a few times... Loved how it got super dark. Unique puzzle mechanic. Great compo entry!
Great little game, like the idea a lot! I agree the camera was a bit cumbersome (couldn't really see where I was going) but happy to hear you found a way to fix it post-jam! I think it's a good idea and you could probably do other cool things next. Have you thought of the "exit" of a plate being special? Like, a jump? Or teleport to somewhere else? A plate with a hole somewhere in the middle instead of gate? etc. You could make many different levels with a few of these variations.
I like the bubbles in your game (compared to mine), lol. The art is good, the gameplay needs some work. There's not much feedback when you get hit... I didn't at first notice that regular fish also hurt you (and not just the bad looking one) - I just noticed all of a sudden my health was down. You have a nice thump when hitting the scenery, so an audio or visual cue when you get hit by fish may be an easy fix for that.
I like the idea. But it seemed reasonable to outrun the enemies, especially when using the clones (they also seem to dig faster?). I also hit a strange bug at some point where the enemies just ignored me and kept going up outside of the screen. I found the shooting command (mouse click) by accident, maybe add that to the instructions. Overall I like the idea and mechanic. But perhaps the difficulty should go up over time to make it a bit more interesting? Faster enemies, less rocks, etc.?
I think the cars need some more speed/strength given the very twisty course. I picked the blue truck first which was a mistake lol. The other point is definitely the camera. Moving cameras can be tough to implement, but I think just zooming out a bit would have given a better view... some of the steep angles you can essentially not see where you're going :-) I tried again with the red car. Nice and shiny!!
Good work! I kept thinking the controls stopped working but it was the TAB to move between mouse capture that got me every time. I think the oxygen/energy mechanic is interesting and worth exploring further if you want to work on this game post-jam. Maybe also find oxygen pickups so you can choose to convert either one into the other? Happy to read in the comments you had fun with blowing bubbles. So did I on my game lol
I agree with other commenters this is an impressive amount of content for 48h compo, both polish and amount of levels etc. Great job! I'm usually fairly bad at platformers, but I kind of cruised through this one. I only used an ale twice but didn't really need it all that much. So perhaps it needs something to dial up the difficulty a but (considering it was even for me, haha). FYI - there was a weird visual glitch every so often, I've seen something like this with tile games in Unity... it looks like a frame or so showing white seams between textures.
Loved this puzzle game. I couldn't at first figure out why some tiles were "walls" but you get it as you keep playing. The one level where you had to to a race line close to the edges to be able to make it... nice touch! :-) More levels please =)
Great game. I think the zoomed-in view adds to the atmosphere of discovery and not knowing what's next. Yes, there's a few surprise spikes you couldn't see coming, but the save-game implementation made it so I didn't feel too bad experimenting. The end boss took quite a few tries to find a tactic that worked. The spikes seemed very sensitive though. A few times I tried to get as close as I could to make a jump, and it felt like I kept walking into the spike before I actually touched it. Super fun, great job.
Thanks for the comments. I love interesting mechanics. But introducing something into an existing genre doesn't always pan out as sometimes it just looks entirely bolted on. In this case the clock mechanic was really central, which I think is what makes it work well. I agree the spawning enemies in the dark didn't pan out as well as hoped. I think part of the issue is you don't actually see them spawn in most cases. Or they did but when you get there it's light, so it's not immediately obvious. There are other ideas but I went for the ones that seemed easiest to test out or obvious they'd work. The gravity was an early idea and immediately seemed fun when I tried it. The doors thing I just dove right in as it seemed like a basic puzzle style thing that would work.
Very addictive, very satisfying sfx. I seem to have hit some sort of sustainable income at this point though lol Great game, I love it.

As for suggestions... the placement in a dense field is a little tricky. It seems sometimes even though my mouse was on the right place before the timer hit, clicking next time didnt work and I had to jiggle the mouse a little?
The screenshot game from above is still going =)
Very cool game. I did something not the same but somewhat similar for LD 47 but I think yours is better :-)
Not easy when the board fills up quickly and you have to navigate yourself and the mirror dude. I guess shortest path with the least bombs is the way to go? Great work.
I love the idea and the art and everything about it. It was just unplayable for me due to input lag. I have a gaming PC, and I tried both the html build and the windows download but I just could not enjoy my terrible off-beat creations. I used my speakers which are straight-wired into audio of the desktop PC so no bluetooth lag.
I will score it ignoring the lag though - as it seems from the comments either I'm the only having this problem, or the only one bothered by it.
Really cool. I love the tutorial bits to get me started quickly. I'm not sure if I missed an explanation on the "bad guys" slapping the passengers. Looks like you can throw the red ones in the river to make them disappear? Well executed, polished, great mood. Lovely.
Love the art and the sound on this. Perfect game jam concept as far as reasonable mechanics and scope. The one thing that bothered me a bit was the movement. Especially to pick up the stakes, I felt like wildly going around the tree to pick it up. Also the first night I hadn't noticed i didn't pick up all my stakes - I had been focusing on getting as many trees as fast as possible lol.
Art is great, music/mood is great. I have to say I had a hard time watching the attacking on the right while focusing on the tile matching. I was wildly just matching stuff as much as I could until I died. Missed most of the action. I will give it a few more runs though. EDIT: Doing better now :-)
217. Simple but effective game. Great mood, cute graphics. Great game! It took me a minute to figure out what to do, that would be my only suggestion is to give some hints to get started first.
The calming music helps the stressful work lol. It's a fun game. I thought the limited color palette would make things hard to see but turned out really well. Great work.
I really didn't get very far. I think someone here said to learn the positions of the ores. I thought they were random but honestly I hadn't looked. I didn't even get to build a gold one, which perhaps is what I need to try and beat it :-) 3 waves remaining is as far as I've gotten... I think making the ramp up slightly slower would be nice. There's not much time to learn and improve the game and that can get frustrating. Since you can't change the 10s timer because of the theme, perhaps balancing less ramp up of the waves and slightly less powerful turrets could give more time to get into the game without sacrificing the difficulty?
Haha, that was funny. But intense though! I was going to say to make it less stressful, but then again that's sort of the point of the game lol. Great entry!
Haha yes the collateral came before the second beam mode, but it turned out to work perfectly for balance!
I love that you were able to carry out this experiment. It's interesting, for sure. I think using C# with Unity may have gotten you better results with ChatGPT's code, as there's definitely more C# out there beyond Unity as well.
The next year or two will be interesting to see how the field of AI developers and how it will get incorporated into things.
Really solid entry with fun little story. Few glitches but nothing detracting from the game. The art was really awesome and sold the whole concept. It was a little difficult to figure out the exact rules, and I'm not sure I actually did understand but it worked for me... :-)
I updated the description. The game is a parody/critique of the currently abundant looting genre games that are essentially inventory Tetris simulators.
@vary yes the intent was to have more combinations of the mission objectives (puzzling inventory with a timer, etc.). I also wanted to added some sort of enemies or other dangers to add pressure.
@lou-bagel thanks for the feedback. To your points: - Yeah the fullscreen button of itch and the fullscreen option of the unity webgl build don't work together somehow... - Yes! One was to mimic many FPS games where E or F is used. Secondly the intent was to build enemies or other sorts of dangers (for added pressure), requiring a fire mechanic of the mouse click... - Did you see the mission text (once completed) described roughly where it was? Or you didn't know where to go look based on the description? - Yes I watched a streamer play and I agree it's not clear what's happening when it's full (looks like a bug). There also seems to be some bug where it's not always able to find a spot if the item has to get rotated to fit. Overall addition of sound, as in any game, would make a big difference.
@lou-bagel totally valid. Yes it's all random. Similar to FPS loot also respawns after a while, again randomly. Yeah for the silliness I see what you're saying. The balance of spoofing on the FPS mission/extract trope and being silly needs tweaking, I would agree.
I struggled a lot when starting. The camera bouncing to the bottom at his feet, and everything being gray I didn't even realize I could get out of the room at first... Once I got past that and got the hang of it, it went much better. I didn't solve the mystery though. Not sure what that potato cat at the top was all about lol
Really well done. I may come back to play more, now I want to know what the "special resource" is. I unlocked it but didn't get to see it... had 4 days left when I died :-(
The robots are essentially your Tower Defense builds. You can't control them or you don't fight them, they're your (energy-sucking) buddies. The matcher matches gems for you (and is fixed on one side of the jewel box) and the cleaner moves in circles cleaning up from the floor.
Hi @saoi-games - the upside down thing is something that happens in the WebGL build only. Never hit this in the editor or Windows. It's frustrating I agree but no clue what the problem is, it's somehow related to the mouse grab. As far as no gems appearing that is odd. As per the difficulty it takes longer and longer for a new jewel box to appear - did you check the timer in the upper right hand corner?
First try I immediately died. Second try was so good, I crashed it. After 8 mins playing it crashed with some maximum stack or whatever... Anyway, it was fun otherwise I wouldn't have played it for that long. Other than it crashing I did see one other bug where every now and then it would shoot towards the beginning of the queue regardless of where I was pointing... Good fun, great game!
