I know you probably didn't have time but, implementing the use of mouse to select the tile would be much easier to control but the overall game mechanics are awesome!

@hitchh1k3r say no more fam.
That was amazing. Rubix may be a little too hard but that's my problem. LOL
I liked everything except how spread out or hard it is to find resources. At least, when you respawn, you keep your upgrades but i can't find anything shallower than 125m. Other than the resources, i loved it!
Hey Godot! nice job. I can't imagine playing on phone LOL. Everything was great! Maybe an icon next to the 5 slots so I know which item is collectable. I didn't realize the jelly fish were a sleepy thing at first.
Awe! I don't have my VR set up :( maybe later this week I will
Excellent! I got stuck on one but dang this was good! Love these types of simple puzzle games
I agree with @cninja. Wish I would have known about having to go back. too long to replay it but it the mode, sound and graphics are awesome. Check points would help.
As a fellow solo jammer, i totally get not having audio so i'm not gonna talk about that. there's too much as is in the comments. the gyro ball was the only one i didn't get a hang of. i was jamming on those buttons but it was going WAY too fast and I got it close and BAM super fast spinning again. I just let it spin. and still won! Great job though because 3D aint always easy and you basically made 5 mini-games! Bad ass!
Sensitivity is really high but it seems cool. i can't get past the maze though :/
This game totally has a lot of potential! I had to skip my turn a bunch (I also didn't have anyone to play with. I think that was necessary?) because I couldn't move but I really like the cards mechanic. With some tweaks, this game could really become something.
@baconinvader Yeah I figured. I took that into account. I just thought about this but, if you decide to continue to develop this game, I would like to suggest letting every unit move 1 or 2 squares but actions like torpedoes are strictly reliant on cards? just a suggestion.
Nice! Reminds me of Everspace, which is a good game. Controls are a bit slippery, even with the inertial dampeners but turning feels nice.
Really fun and polished. you definitely have a big team that works well together. Kinda wish it was longer but hey, that's ludum! Great work!
Very nice. Obviously very aesthetically pleasing. Curious how you did some of the effects like the scan. I did a scan in my game and would like to know what you did for yours. Anyways, great job team!
Yeah this is awesome.
The bomb spawning on my head got me trapped so many times LOL pretty fun. How do i get back though?
@juanj7 ohhhhh because it doesn't hurt you. you only have energy, not HP. didn't catch that at first
Pretty nice. Tough to get but I almost got it. 2 min feels short but doable.
It worked fine for me. Very funny. i got 30 bottles (29 perfect 1 good). Very simple. not bad for only 8 hrs
Yeah, i'm not sure how to put them back into their graves unless i'm missing something too. Looks and sounds great thought!
Yeah this is really good. Not easy by yourself but I get the idea.
I really like the art. the sound also really makes you feel alone. Great job.
I love everything synthwave and I loved this too. the space bar/drift button does not work for sure. Probably a bug.
very dope.
Pretty good! thought the spiker was an enemy for a hot minute. Didn't realize that IT WAS a spiker. How do you break the black rocks? i wish i could program in C++
Dude this is amazing! One feedback, turning and going up and down will smoothly move the radar points but going forward and backwards won't. This is visually confusing and caused me to crash multiple times. Other than that, stellar job!
NICE! Reminds me of dead space a little. i loved that game. fish people are sort of hard to hit and do cost a bunch of oxygen but very well done.
yeah this is gonna win the whole jam 10/10. only weird thing was, why Q and D to turn? very unusual from conventional A and D
Holy hardness batman! very fun though.
Pretty dang good! a little claustrophobic and sensitive and the surfaces are super specular but still fun. Roommate had to tell me to move on to the next game. How far does it go?
i played it admittedly much longer than I should have. I really like the game. Repetitive for obvious reasons so that's fine. Very well done. Does it have an end?
Nothing to complain about. Controls felt slippery but it felt appropriate for a drone. Tried to collect the ore once just to see what it would do but nothing so I just kept going. pretty fun and I liked just about everything. nice work.
i agree with @6smith. I had no feedback on when i should swallow or eat the next one. I was pushing the buttons as instructed but only got 3 points even though i had chewed and swallowed about 10 sausages. What am i doing wrong? Genuinely don't understand
once i got to level 4 i couldn't move and ammo kept draining by 5 or more each level. but the idea was pretty cool. Wish i could go deeper but the movement lock forced me to go backwards. Did i do something wrong?
I'm not sure I understand. food and o2 start at some huge negative number and it won't change. Broken perhaps?
I'm not sure if i can even play it. Sensitivity is WAY too high. Is it my PC?
I kinda wish there was an enemy but the atmosphere was creepy enough. Excellent work on atmosphere!
this is actually really really well done. I only wish the mouse was captured like most games instead of free. Other than that, 10/10
Very cool and innovative. a little confusing but you can figure it out. the terminal part confused me for a second and i'm still not sure i fully understand it but I eventually got to the end. Creepy audio was good.
Not bad at all. The character is a bit sluggish and slow but i like these ship management games.
This is really cool. The controls are explained pretty well. I did a bunch of things and feel like i got decently far but, at one point i started losing resources and don't really understand why. maybe too many 50$ entities? idk. other than not knowing how the points work, aaawwweeessssoommmeeee game
GJ, I hate it. JK JK the atmosphere was awesome. Creeped me waaaay out. I know SCP-087 and just said nope eventually
I don't know if it's just me or my machine but the sensitivity was insanely high. Pretty good though
wow. A little more explanation would be nice but enough trial and error could probably figure it out. I love the little animations and the board game feel.
SpookY! I wish it was longer! Moar content plz! :)
it's an overcooked clone... and I love it!!! Are there levels or end to levels because i only had time to go to the alter once
holy cow that's a lot of bandits LOL well done though.
awesome job. like the music. jumping was confusing at first but i got the hang of it. Only thing i would ask is to fix the doors a little bit. When going into a door from the left and then getting spit out in the next room to the left, i kept accidentally going back into the door I came from putting me in a loop.
I'm not sure if it's working? Igniting the frozen dudes isn't doing anything but I had fun roaming around! Excellent work on the graphics and lighting.
Excellent! One piece of advice for programming. STAY AWAY FROM ROTATIONS and Euler angles! I think this is called gimbal lock when something rotates like that. Try working with transforms or quaternions. They may be tougher to work with but perform really well. https://docs.godotengine.org/en/stable/tutorials/3d/using_transforms.html
Personally, I like doing the FPS structure for everything. Place an object that only "nods" (like a head nodding 'yes') inside an object that only turns left and right. The parent object (the left and right object) will turn the nodding object but never nods itself. this way, you don't get confusing angles. Each object only get's 1 rotation. this tutorial will help you see the object structure: https://docs.godotengine.org/en/stable/tutorials/3d/fps_tutorial/index.html
(I like Godot a lot btw :P )
building is a little tough but dang this is awesome!
yeah it's a little jittery and rough but it may be due to my higher res monitor. Pretty cool and props for 3D!
Thanks for the feels :( I liked it though :) Spoilers: I liked putting the mom in jail a hundred times
Seems really cool but i'm getting stuck. one platform is too high for me to reach so when you climb the wall so i can't progress.
@cheekibreeki One of the rooms is called "Item Room" in the source files (the heat vent is called that) because I was going to add an item but ran out of time. Also, yeah, depth meter was thought of but I went with a compass that points up instead since I had trouble with orientation. Maybe in later iterations though.
@smelly-games I KNOW! I REALLY wanted to add some more art to the environment and really wanted fish. Something big. I swear I actually had the idea of putting an eel next to a vent to make it hard/impossible to get to without dying but, not time :(
@xeke-death did you try the windows version? Getting the mouse to work on the web version is a bit tricky and doesn't work for everyone. I tried removing it but it broke both uploads so I had to put it back. Yeah more environment stuff was something i had more time for :(
Thanks. I really appreciate that! I wish i could change the oxygen mechanic but its too late but i promise i will later. Ive gotten that feedback a bunch and im sorry :(. The audio, btw, is me blowing bubbles in a glass with a straw or me rubbing the mic LOL very simple
@animatrix1490 that was great advice thank you! at least it's new advice and I really appreciate that. I did consider pointing it north but went with up so I'll change that when i'm allowed. You should be able to see the vent smoke from REALLY far away actually but if it's still too hard, I can reshape them to be more visible with sonar or just make them emit light so you can see it from much closer or something. Thanks! I got new stuff to implement!
@interface @wetburritosupreme Thanks! I really liked the way it came out but realized people really struggled with the TAB function so i made a few edits for the V2 but please don't grade me on that version out of fairness. Just posted it if people wanted to try to get farther with better controls.
@sharkmax218 I agree! given more time, i would have interpolated the camera and added more physics like acceleration and drag. I'll add it to the V2 eventually.
@fis thanks! yeah I thought about preloading but I've only done it once before and ran out of time to re-learn it but I'll implement it in v2, but yeah, loading is a bit long. For the mouse, I used Input.set_mouse_mode(Input.MOUSE_MODE_CAPTURED) and then Tab to release the mouse etc. Understandably, this doesn't work for HTML versions unless there's something I missed.
3D is a bit to get used to but it's really not bad! Hope you're good at vector math lol jk it's not that bad. Godot has a few tutorials that are okay.
@sorlok I implemented key bindings to the buttons in V2 version so you don't have to toggle the mouse if you wanna try it out but thanks. Yes, originally, i did it because I wanted to have a bunch of buttons to interface with but I'll stick to keyboard bindings.
WOW! That was very cool. Scroll wheel mechanic is weird but you can always ascend/descend so that's fine.
I really liked it but it's way too dark. How do the lights work? some won't turn on.
@lrl64 That's what i figured about the generator proximity except not the chaining lights but I couldn't even find resources. How about a really weak glow stick that was temporary to help you venture into the dark before setting up more permanent lights?
a little short but pretty fun! dang these critters move fast
dang this is a challenge to control but I actually liked it. sluggish and really hard to accelerate but the player can learn to balance and control both eventually.
Nice! took me a minute to figure out the game play but I got it eventually. Can't see the floor and sometimes got stuck in a loop where, no matter what, I immediately went into a pit and couldn't reach the next orb but pretty cool and visually awesome!
pretty cool. Takes a little too long to kill enemies but i like the fall FPS idea!
Nice work! can't defeat any enemies but that may just me fighting before being ready.
link is 404
This was really well done. I died at the wave length module on round 2 because I couldn't get the waves to match. I'm pretty sure I got the frequency right but the phase was shifted just barely so it wouldn't match up with the other wave so it wouldn't accept it. I went real slow to make sure i got it just right and sometimes it would jump a lot. I loved this game but for that station, add a slider for the phase instead of amplitude or use a button to change the frequency since the slider is a bit sensitive/hard to be precise with.
Pretty cool idea but I don't understand when it goes down. sometimes i'd stand still and it would hold and other times it would go down. Is that a glitch or did i miss something?
Also, it's hard to move him forward btw. he jumps high but not far forward making it hard to control every jump.
So does adding a reservoir of water actually increase the rate of consumption of water or does it only add 500 to the count?
Also, i think the physics may be backwards? maybe a negative because it kept leaning towards the side that was empty.
Awesome work! there's a little bit too much delay with picking things up and controlling the inventory is a bit tricky
i love B00-P :)
don't forget, if you want your game to be rated, you have to rate other games as well in order for the site to prioritize you.
we may have a winner. placement is a little tricky and i wish you could rotate in more than one axis but I get it... it's a jam
I had more fun with that than I should have. LOL
Please lower the sensitivity
I won so fast the first time but the second time, it randomized too fast. is that block in the middle of that one room the trap door? I fell through the floor without reason a few times. I think that, when the geometry refreshed, the collision disappeared long enough for me to just fall through.
Wow. great job. Couldn't figure out what to do about the blocks until i re-read the description but I got it. accidentally restarted because i used shift to sprint and activated sticky keys. May want to unbind that button.
took me a while to realize i could use the ice to cross large gaps but i beat that dark wizards @zz
@baknik did you find the beans?
@morepixels yeah, i didn't have time to implement stopping the timers when you won or lost :( Let's just say you won LOL
@scalphamission @emkani @ttu-hasan @cloistered @python-b5 yeah i obviously had no time to polish it and I"m not an artist so my 3D art abilities are limited LOL Sorry for annoying you with alerts. I could do something about it like only run it once or five times or whatever.
I appreciate all the feedback everyone!
Really great job. I agree with the controls thing. Really sluggish and hard to control but I get the idea. Maybe use the mouse to determine direction? just a suggestion. Also, maybe make the blue bar a little bigger and have set amounts of decrease for each ghost. Hard/impossible to know if i'm going to die from sucking up the next ghost.
All that aside, outstanding work!
very excellent. I gave you very high marks. my only request is that the player looks towards your mouse. Aiming is a bit difficult without that.
this was awesome. great job.
balancing the game was tricky and we tried our best to make it feel like it was manageable but that was tough. We did plan on having a laser gun and pistol as well as having an engineer, who could repair the walls, but we ran out of time and that was too large of a scope for 2 people in 3 days when everything was from scratch but we DID think about it LOL.
yeah we will be lowering the volume soon. maybe tomorrow. there is an indicator for hits but it's admittedly too small so maybe we'll make it bigger.
it was a lot of fun. As mentioned before, controls are a bit uncomfortable but I've seen them in games before. Nice art and sounds and pretty fun!
i loved this. I got 2 of the endings and i'll try for the third. Why no ratings? did you intentionally opt out of getting a rating?
so, is the planet a small sphere or is the curvature due to the cameras perspective?
thanks for the feels >:( no but seriously this was very well done. not sure if it was because i played the web version but, there was some frustrating frame lag, especially opening/going into the house. Also, some meshes only rendered 1 side and were transparent from behind, which is good in most cases. But, for example, the mini-pool hand chunks of transparent parts because we were looking at the back side of the surface (i think that's what was going on). FYI, you can render both sides of a surface if you turn culling off. in Godot, it's a drop down item in an objects material settings and i bet it's the same in Unity. Anyway, i didn't take any points off for these since it wasn't game breaking, very minor and i understand the time constraints of a game jam. just wanted to let you know.
yeah that was really fun. is there a downloadable version? planning to make a desktop and online multiplayer version?
excellent across the board.
I didn't take off for this but please tighten up the controls. not trying to be critical but your camera is facing downward and text was sort of high making it a little weird to read text. the camera also moved quite a bit when bumping into walls. also, there's a big delay when trying to stop. if i let go of a move button, he is delayed by more than a whole second making it awkward to control.
other than that, i love puzzle games and this was awesome for 1 person
them controls LOL had me struggling for a minute but i got the hang of it.
boost da powa
very chill.
pretty fun. your numbers in the hud are broken but pretty good.
I got passed the first 2. pretty good! but the UI is squished and i can't see for some reason. at least on the live version. Couldn't get the zip version to work.
how am i supposed to get gears? i pretty much only got screws? pretty interesting but i got stuck on the second jump. took me a while to figure out i needed to jump on the guy but i got hurt the first time trying that. maybe a bug? maybe i landed on the wrong spot? idk.
very cool, very fun.
I think i got close to the end but you have a door that opens (going to the right, if it helps) that just drops you into space/the abyss . I think that's a bug.
YAY! I DID IT! I solved it! This was super adorable and loved it!
I hope this doesn't come off the wrong way but
1) separate the text when choosing because it can be difficult to distinguish one option from another. maybe spacing or something?
2) i would recommend binding the camera to the bears head and not his feet. When the camera collides with the wall, is slides allll the way down to his feet. You probably just bound it/made it a child of the base character object but it wouldn't hurt to put an empty game object near his head and child the camera to that instead.
otherwise, this was awesome! super adorable characters. I'd love to pick your brain on how you animate, model and render some time. all of my 3D assets look super terrible and blocky and not smooth. Oh well. i'll learn eventually.
this is amazing! jealous i didn't come up with it LOL
that was pretty fun and clever. after saving 8 ppl, the UI was just blank and didn't work. either that's a bug or as far as you got?
this was really great but can you make the collision boxes (area for your mouse to click on) a little bigger? some of the things were a bit hard to click on or missed or something.
i'm really confused. How do i replenish things like food and thirst? which modules are which?
this is AWESOME and I LOVE the backrooms. could easily be one of the top entries this jam
i played a lot more than i should XD. awesome job. sincerely. can't figure out the last one but i'll keep trying.
this was great! that first island coming down really intrigued me. got stuck on the second island but i did finish it! not entirely sure about resetting the items and inventory but it wasn't bad.
Got it! great job
I only wish i could go on a squishing rampage LOL excellent
really awesome. don't worry you get high marks but if you alt+tab, you cant get the mouse back into the game and you have to restart it. The minigame also wouldn't go away making it stuck not being able to put it away or do anything but move around.
yeah this was really really fun. i love FTL and LiaDST ship management games! a little hard but i almost won. WASD please
not very difficult but i played it way longer than i should have LOL. Really fun to kill the little guys. Well done with the particle physics following the cursor too.
oh can't run it on chrome for some reason. had to use firefox
This is so cool! I know it's a game jam and it's not going to be perfect but the image darkness mattering could be emphasized earlier. It took me a moment to figure it out. Also, I would recommend having the character align when you right click instead of the camera aligning with the character. Seriously though it was so cool though. Very curious how you did it. i have an idea but not sure.
Started adorble, ended spooky. That sound, when the ghosts catch you, is very spine chilling.
Yay! i made it! got stuck at one part but figured it out eventually. i spent a lot of time on this so you know it's good. How did you get Godot to shade the geometry smoothly?? every time I make something, you can see every darn edge :(
Fantastic. movement is a bit weird. had my fingers stretched really far across the keyboard and depth was difficult but other than that, top marks. Seriously, really awesome in many ways.I'll have to try again later.
It's really really well done but a little frustrating when you lose power. Maybe don't have everything fully powered and on so I'm not scrambling to lower module power every time. can you even win? Just like kataStudios, I have everything off but 1 power and i use it for thrust and i still insta lose in the red area?
Definitely one of the top games i've played though!
Woah a IRL card game! cool! never seen that and never thought I would for a jam!
controls are a little bouncy but i loved it! reminded me of Star Fox 64
LOL alright that was fun and funny.
It looks great and is pretty fun but every path is a bad path? literally every path I try loses crew and eventually all of them. A no win scenario game? Is this a bug? there isn't a single path that is safe or worth going. I'm confused.
@rachenite I had considered using a different, more broad hit box so it wasn't so precise but i had already implemented the design choice. :( Thanks for playing!
@team-9tailed I know, sorry :( there wasn't much content. but, that's what happens when i jam alone. The bats floating up was actually a choice. I didn't want the player to simply go in and wipe everything out immediately before anything even attacked once. I thought it would be too easy so i had them fly out of range slowly and then attack (which brought them back in strike range). I know about the emptyness. I was, at the very very least, hoping to make just 1 more enemy. Thanks for the feedback and playing.
@mutilated-sauce Oh right! I forgot about the game over. Yes, I obviously wanted to handle game overs but I was using this feature as a debugging tool and ran out of time to implement "game overs". Thanks for reminding me though. I added it to my list :)
Interesting. I think I know how to fix that. Yeah, when you leave one room, that room goes invisible and when you enter another room, that room goes visible so there's probably a gap in between where neither renders. I set them to invis because I have backface culling on, so surfaces are "one-way". I did this so your camera can see through the walls when if it ends up outside the room. If both rooms or all rooms rendered, the walls from one room would block the camera when it hovers outside the room.
@wolfier Thanks, I'll try that. someone else also suggested it so maybe I'll come up with something. I wanted to make it so bats spawned away from the door (I did notice that) but it would have made the spawn code 2 or 3 times more complex and time consuming :( Also, I was afraid of the slow pace but, I've seen people play my games in the past and... not do so well so I wanted the first couple levels to be easy. The level number is actually used as a multiplier to determine how many bats spawn per room and how fast they attack so the later levels are probably pretty hard.
@jag ohhh yeah I guess I forgot about making the bats stop after hitting the shield. So, for now, they don't stop trying to move forward until the timer is completely done. You probably lowered shield before they were done with their dash. i swear it WAS on my mind at one point but forgot to come back around to that.
@jona-scheidig Yes, i did learn a bunch. This was my first time making procedurally generated maps (not rooms obviously QQ). I had to re-learn a lot too about animation. Boy animating was rough LOL.
yeah i know there's not a lot of depth (no pun intended) :\ Sorry. I did have plans for rocks and pits and spikes and different shaped and sized rooms as well as enemies, items and weapons (see my post for my list of things i didn't get to) but time, you know? Once again, my game idea was overly ambition but that's okay.
@ryusui thanks! I could probably make them a bit easier to fight. Their logic was very very basic: rise, dash, repeat. But I get it. There's not much there. I'll look into creating a tell of some sort (if i decide to continue developing it, that is). But thanks! I appreciate the feedback, sincerely.
@someone LOL sorry about that (about the shield). Yeah, I've seen games punish players pretty harshly when they lose but i wanted to kind of give the player the option to just keep going like "hey you lost, here's a sign that says that but feel free to just keep going" kind of thing. I know about the mouse sensitivity. I didn't get to make a menu with settings or anything but I know everyone's mouse and computer are different.
Thanks for the play and thanks for the feedback.
Ghosties! i got stuck once but eventually figured it out. the atmosphere changed quick but it was very effective.
looks interesting but i have no idea what to do :(
nice! struggled to get the elevator running because the boxes were in the way but moving them out of the way made them not count in the counter. also, are the guys on level 2 supposed to be that strong?? pretty fun though. I liked it. great job.
**web version:** Enter didn't work
**windows version:** Texture fickering and this from the terminal
[settings.c:52 @settings_default] error: [model.c:289 @model3dtx_add_texture_from_buffer] loaded texture0 0 0x0 [main.c:598 @main] [not supported at main.c:34] failed to initialize networking [model.c:473 @model3dtx_set_texture] program 'contrast' doesn't have texture emission_map or it's not a texture
it looks really cool though but I couldn't get very far :(
awesome. i spent more time on this than intended, which is great. It kind of reminds me of "Mastermind". Once i found all the recipe's i made it to level -10. Is there an end?
i think the link is broken because it just leads to a site that says "not found"
NOOOI hit quit instead of play! F**K! LOL more fun than i expected. great job. even though its the same level, the gameplay loop is really fun. you instilled that "okay just one more run and i can get this thing" so that's fantastic.
nice. Loved it. Controls were kinda loose/fast but that could be something on my end.
Pretty neat. great atmosphere. I see where you were going. Sensitivity is waaaaay too low though and my mouse is maxed out with a pretty high DPI. not sure how no one else seems to be experiencing so i'll just chalk it up to something on my end.
