LD51 — Every 10 seconds

It's Getting Warmer! by Toster12D3 2022-10-03T21:14:36Z

It is a nice game, the graphics were amazing. I am however not smart enough, to get to the end. I got stuck in the middle of the game unfortunately. I also managed to get myself stuck in between the doors, somehow. I think this game has a lot of potential. I enjoyed myself!

QuickThink: Necromancer by Ganny 2022-10-03T22:06:21Z

I must admit I was a bit on the fence, given that it is quick maths, and if there is one thing I am terrible at, it is quick math. However I actually enjoyed it a lot. The art is good, the simple idea works really well. The game knows when to establish new concepts well, i.e. it is nicely timed. Such as introducing multiplication and division appropriately. It is a nice idea, and well polished, good job!

#1 Button Presser by Jvdwijk 2022-10-04T09:17:49Z

I really enjoyed the game, even though I was a bit frustrated, I kept finding myself coming back. I played this without a mouse and with a mousepad, which was a bit counterintuitive, as rotating the rocket was a bit slow and then switching to the button would not be great. But I believe that is on me. This reminds me of games, I used to play when I was younger, and the voices were pretty fun. I'll be sure to come back to this game, with a proper mouse :)

Cave of Secrets! by Kman 2022-10-03T22:27:06Z

It's a nice game. The mechanic is easy to understand and intuitive. An ending screen would have been nice, but I also do enjoy hanging out at the tents and watching the boulders glitch a little bit.

LD54 — Limited Space

Plan It Out! by Decipator 2023-10-03T10:22:34Z

The game was pretty fun to play, I relate to the main character probably a bit more than I should, haha. I really enjoyed the dragging of the events mechanic, it felt pretty smooth and satisfying. The visuals were pretty fitting for the type of game it was. Only two notes: I am not sure what the "Extra" block did, was it good? Did I clutter an already full schedule? I tried to plan in a couple of Extra blocks on my second playthrough so the main character would eat more, but it didn't seem to do anything.

All in all an interesting concept I would love to play more of.

Astromino by namnam 2023-10-03T11:27:05Z

I loved the game, pretty intuitive on how it work, except that it took me a bit to figure out how to rotate the pieces. Which to be fair is on my own as you state it in the game description. All in all an interesting concept I could see playing as a full fledged game with a whole background story. Nice use of audio and beautiful art. Great submission :)

Limited Judgement by velvetlobster 2023-10-02T23:20:43Z

I loved the idea of the game. It is quite innovative. Unfortunately I played it quite early, so I don't think I got all the potential from it, as some answers were blank. A fun concept to explore further, I'd love to delve more into the world, the vibe and the story. Good job :)

Melody of the wild: Panda's campfire quest by MarcoDeevil 2023-10-03T11:14:59Z

The game was adorable, as everyone else it was incredibly challenging, as the darkness came fast and the end was inevitable. I really enjoyed it, thanks for your submission. (PS: the banjo music was great)

Safe n' Snug by Tuile 2023-10-05T13:35:27Z

I mostly agree with @adele-illustration. The art we could see from the game was gorgeous and the idea is promising, however it didn't seem to work? Additionally it might be nice to specify the temperature, I wasnt sure if it was Celsius, Fahrenheit or an imaginary Unit, and consequently how high or low it should be. Also the points give relatively little feedback it might be nice to break the categories more down to see how good one is doing (overall happiness, temperature, state of the box etc.) Overall a nice idea, thank you for your contribution :)

Art - Official Intelligence (an AI fever dream) by Ben Parisi 2023-10-08T18:07:00Z

I really enjoyed it, I must say I am a sucker for point and click games, so I was immediately hooked. And the premises of it being all AI is curious. I think a devlog or stream of the process (or a process like this) would be very interesting to see. Given that that is one of the main characteristics of the game, but naturally hard to see in the endproduct.

High Caffeine Black Tea by SLEEPYMENACE 2023-10-05T13:44:34Z

A gorgeous game, with a fun premises. Indeed more balancing and quality of life updates would be nice (i.e. WASD and a restart button) together with some key instructions. I found it a bit confusing to use the mouse in the startup screen and then space throughout the game. But I understand how those get lost in the chaos of a game jam. Overall a great contribution with a lot of potential. I enjoyed playing :)

Furniture Tetris by GCghost 2023-10-05T13:12:17Z

I have the same problem as @minjutin

Forget-Me-Not by Nyla J 2023-10-08T19:51:30Z

I am a bit confused if I understood the point of the game correctly. I really liked the premises, but it seemed quite short. I did enjoy how everything was pretty off, and kind of foggy. I believe you brought the point home very well with that.

CRATE ARCANUM by Vegeo 2023-10-02T23:01:46Z

First of all gorgeous looks. When I saw the wizards little hat nodding on the menu screen I was in love. The game itself was also pretty zen, perhaps a bit on the long side. I played it until I got to GameOver and I think I spend quite a while. Perhaps picking up the pace might be interesting, or lowering the win amount (tho it would be a shame for the Rune art). Or maybe adding more music. Overall a gorgeous submission and very impressive given the Game Jam timeframe!

Congestion Crusaders by JDegs 2023-10-02T22:46:08Z

I loved it. The art is incredible and the concept is pretty creative. It was pretty intuitive to play, though it might be nice to get more of an indication on the pattern of the infection. In my first playthrough I was a bit irritated by that. Overall a pretty good game!

Cramped - 3D Maze Escape by Onsson 2023-10-02T22:32:57Z

The Player character is absolutely ADORABLE. Which is why I am incredibly sorry that I made him stuck in a big cube in (presumably) space. As someone with very little orientation it was quite hard to grasp the new space, but I would say it was an interesting challenge to figure out and a fun puzzle to play with. One thing to improve, the spinning motion (especially when spinning fast) kind of made my head spin. But I had fun, thanks :)

Roommate Rumble by DeadOnGames 2023-10-03T09:50:07Z

Heyo, played it with my IRL roommate, gotta say didn't hate her pink stuff tho, it was adorable. We were a bit unclear on what the goal of the game was/on how to get points. The furniture models were looking pretty nice, but is it possible to rotate them?

Room Life by Hinamarina 2023-10-08T17:46:51Z

The game was a pretty good representation of how it feels sometimes to deal with 0 energy. In fact when the energy bar was just greyed out, it was quite a powerful moment to me. Unfortunately emersion was a bit impacted by some spelling mistakes here and there.

I really enjoyed my experience tho :)

Payment Comes on Friday by Tetracold 2023-10-05T13:25:46Z

Seeing it as a prototype for a game jam I think it is amazing. The game play itself and the visuals were gorgeous and I can see so many directions you could go with this to make it a full fledged release game. (I.e. updates, currency management, quality of life/stress management etc.) It is a very smooth game to play and the game idea is fun. As others pointed out it misses a type of progression or change in game play to keep it fun and engaging, but the potential is 100% there. Looking forward to see where this goes!

LD56 — Tiny Creatures

TINY PACK by xk_the_name 2024-10-14T19:32:15Z

Very adorable, played with my roommate and we had a lot of fun. The art is legit gorgeous. It was a bit confusing to begin, the tutorial being after choosing your first animals didn't help hahaha. But we picked it up pretty quickly. This game has a loooot of potential and we loved to play it. Good job!

The Battle Of The Pixels by elZach 2024-10-20T17:23:39Z

This game had me hooked the moment I could make my own icon. And since I've been working to defeat EVERYONE. That being said it would be nice to see my own level! Super fun game, would love this idea to evolve further.

TinySim by JPatrick 2024-10-24T23:33:45Z

I really like this interpretation of tiny creatures, its really interesting to watch. A few of my tailed creatures struggled and got stuck at the side of the petri-dish which was weirdly mesmerizing to watch and keep track off. Loved the mutation system and how colorful it got, when high mutation was activated. Would have loved to have some form of legend or guide in game that helps recognizing some of the resistance traits. Or make it a bit simpler to look up. All in all really interesting and impressed you did this all on your own. Cool stuff!

humans.supply by prophet_goddess 2024-10-08T14:01:31Z

I really liked this game, I am a sucker for this type of upgrade/idle games. The idea is great, and I love the writing of the 'rude humans actions'.

The only thing: some of the messages were 'undefined', which seems like it shouldn't behave like this. Would be interested to see where this game develops too (if that is something you plan to do).

400 Days by Paulsams 2024-10-24T21:29:43Z

To begin with, this is not a game I would usually enjoy, as I am not a big fan of 'frustration games'. That being said this one really hooked me, I think I played for an hour or so. I did hate myself for part of it, but I certainly was hooked. The art is dropdead gorgeous, the voice lines are really charming, I am pretty interested in the story. BUT I couldn't finish the game. To be fair, I am not good at these type of games, due to never playing them, but I feel it may have been just too difficult. I don't fully understand why the health thingies don't come back when the player respawns (as I am in desperate need of them all of the times). The lack of checkpoints in level after we find Kerstin was also not great. And at the point where we need to collect a few resources at that different 'comet', I just couldn't. Whenever I respawned at Bob's I got swarmed by 8 virus thingies.

I think this game is meant for someone that has more skill than me, and I think if I did I would have enjoyed this a lot. I do wish I could have seen the ending, but oh well I have to admit to myself I am too much of a noob.

But again, it is a sign of pretty good game writing that I was so invested to begin with, and you should be really really proud of what you achieved.

Cute Animal Jigsaw-like Puzzle by Kobato Games 2024-10-24T23:40:45Z

Simple and sweet, really good at what it's supposed to do! It reminds me of mini-games I used to play on flash websites or as part of some nintendo games. The music is really nice too!

Which animal are U? by aaLN 2024-10-24T23:48:44Z

Sweet and easy, really strings on my nostalgia. I used to do quizzes like that in magazines too. I am a lil cthulhu thing!

Critter Slayer by mode_0x13 2024-10-19T12:09:02Z

I am really impressed, especially for a first game jam. There are so many reasons I am impressed (and a bit jealous because my Game Jam buddy and I definitely made soooo many faux pas our first time around, and frankly still do) A - Getting it done and staying motivated to pull through on your own B - Making a web-playable version C - Balancing it so it doesn't keep spawning hundreds of enemies making the game unplayable D - Making a well rounded game that works and is playable without (gamebreaking) bugs

There are of course minor things, its nice to have a win condition in a game (if there was one and I just didnt have the skill to reach it, ignore this point lol), and there is no way of respawning except for reloading the webpage. But for 48 hours and the first time around this is impressive, congratulations, excited to see how you'll do next time(s) around!!

RPigG by WeirdBitGames 2024-10-24T22:56:12Z

Really cute game, though it is a lot of information at first, the tutorial really helps with understanding what is going on. It looked really good, and felt pretty polished. There were minor things: it would be nice how strong a sword is before choosing to equip it, and I won the game and could play on, to loose it after all. But it really was more a bit funny than 'game breaking'. I think its a really cute game that shows a good sense of how to utilize the space of the UI, and a spectacular entry for one person.

Haunted House-Sitter by Philocode 2024-10-24T23:11:30Z

Really cute game, love the art of the ghosts and the characters as well. The clock was charming an the little giggling pumpkins. I would have loooved to hear little sound bites, for the atmosphere. I would have liked to know what exactly the numbers on the top right stand for. Otherwise I agree with the other people, I had a hard time sorting the colors of the potions to their effect, but that was fine. Fun game, and congratulations for publishing this all on your own!

Billy's Bed and Breakfast by ContraBlue 2024-10-24T23:57:03Z

It was fun, and I love the art. My ants were beating the IRS, for sure. Idk if my beatle did anything. And I am not sure if the hotel just got absolutely destroyed by insect poison or if I won? Shout out to Anthony the ant, wouldn't have gotten as far as I did without you!

Quackling Rescue by Laywelin 2024-10-07T23:20:36Z

Absolutely adorable, I loved the little duckling art, and that background song with the quacking was super cute.

I may or may not have left the ducklings in front of the TV at times, while finding their siblings, but it seemed to lead to some weird behavior with the counter of how many ducklings I had, when I called them away again. Also the revolving doors tended to push away the ducklings.

But all in all it was a really cute contribution and playing it felt pretty satisfying, well done :)

Petri Dish RogueLite by WiNic 2024-10-07T23:41:56Z

I really enjoyed it. You are right, it is fun to play around with the sliders, especially with the music (and especially after a game jam, it is honestly kind of meditative). We also weren't able to get the web upload to work on Ludum dare, I think it may be a website problem.

One thing I would have found nice is some type of insight on what the different sliders mean. Most are self explanatory, but I wasn't sure about Vision and Awareness, and what the difference is between those two.

All in all congratulations for your first Ludum Dare, especially on your own. I'm impressed, and hope to see you at the next one.

Strange New Tides by Indie Game Academy 2024-10-07T23:09:43Z

Really adorable game, I especially loved the unique composition of the different art styles. And of course the little sound bytes when interacting with the different characters. I enjoyed the different dialogues, and the story felt well rounded (I choose to stay). One thing: both walking and fishing felt just a bit tedious. It felt, like the reaction time was just a bit delayed, as if I am walking through quicksand and even when I got good at the fishing (I definitely tried that multiple times) it just had a bit of delay, that kept being a bit irritating. But that definitely feels like a minor quality of life thing, that happens during a game jam.

Also I wasn't exactly sure what the day-night circle was for, but I didn't mind that either.

Overall a great experience, and I am very happy I found this game, and will come back to see what happens when I leave :)
