you can fix that error by recomiling against java 1.6
Thanks for all the feedback guys :D Ive updated it with the bugfixes for arrows and throwing stars, and it should work on mac now, as its compiled against 1.6, sorry about that!
Did you get any sort of error? if you run it from the command line (java -jar villainous_windows.jar)
Great game :D Graphics worked really well. The zombies seem a bit hard to kill with a pistol though.
Love the graphics. Also the cannon jump mechanic is very clever :)

Vaiaphraim: Combat damage is dealt in a radius around you while mining is only directed to the tile you are "facing", which is the less direction you pressed(WASD). Unfortunately I didn't have time to add different player sprites for each direction so it's not obvious which way you are facing.
Nice entry - I like the reverse take on a Tower Defence. Especially impressive for a Compo entry. Well balanced, which is always tricky to get right. Great job :)
Absolutely fantastic mechanic of the bees, great implementation of the theme. Enjoyable platformer. As mentioned by others it is difficult to control the bees and the player at the same time.
Nice retro dungeon crawler - I do wish the movement was smooth though, felt a bit jarring at times. Also found a weird bug where I was stuck facing a wall, and ended up in a battle while facing the wall the whole time - I can move to face the right direction by holding my mouse button, but the second I let go it snaps be back to facing the wall. Nice combat system & the simple graphics work well.
Nice little game, love the skulls bouncing around on the floor. Music and sound effects set the mood perfectly. Some sort of indication that I was going the right way would have been nice, was convinced I'd gone round in circles somewhere just before I found the end.
As mentioned by others, a better control system would be nice - Hard to play any sort of tune as is. The base piano simulator is good though.
Nice take on the theme, and the result is fun to play. Some more feedback of what you're supposed to do next, perhaps for the first few order, might have been nice. Love the music.
Really like the art style of the Zombies. The choice of mission at the start is a good amount of content for 3 days. The weapon feels a little underpowered though, as I struggled to kill any Zombies.
Clever use of the theme. Nice sound effects and graphics. Great job :)
Got to love a tower defence. Nice lighting effects/graphics - Cool that the maps are generated. Missing some projectiles coming out of the towers to show the attacks I think. Great work overall :)
Very nicely implemented tutorial at the start. Great graphics and music. Enjoyable game, congratulations on your first LD submission. Some sort of indication which Slime was friendly vs enemy would have been nice, I don't think there was a well to tell currently?

I like the art style and concept - Reminds of of Lemmings almost. It did get a bit tedious when I had to start controlling them individually though.

Nice game, with good graphics - As mentioned, a bit jarring how different the enemies look. I've done a couple of LD tower defenses so I know they can be hard to balance, which I think you've done a good job with - Too difficult is 1000% better than too easy.

Enjoyable puzzle mechanics, as others have said some more levels would have been nice. Definitely has post-jam potential with more levels. I did find the web version to be a bit laggy.
Nice game, I managed to kill the goblins first try - I think it's important to use Larry's fire spell, perhaps people aren't finding that.
