There are so many targets looking for samples, it's extremely difficult to get past the first kill. Very interesting concept and take on the theme, though.
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD32 → Free Samples

Also, I'm not sure how to open the shop.
The shop opens either when you run out of samples and meet the kill quota or when you meet the kill quota and press E. I had a slide in the tutorial that mentioned it but I forgot to add it, whoops :P
the concept brings an interesting game mechanic, keep moving and choose wisely. I found it hard to get past the first stage, and then i spent all my money on addons and no samples ._. I like it though.
Interesting concept!
The game mechanics are really interesting, but it is really hard to succeed because of how many people there are at once on the screen. Otherwise it would have been a really fun game I guess.
Very interesting take on the theme. Perhaps a few too many people on the screen at once, difficult to keep track of what is going on.
So damn hard
I thought it was awesome. But I refuse to read or play separate tutorials lol. I spent all my money on junk and no samples and couldn't leave the shop after that.
The tutorial is very nice, but I don't think the controls are mentioned anywhere. It took a while for me to find out how to play. I like the graphical style. The lack of music was a bit disappointing. The is a lot of fun though.
It seems interesting, but it wasn't explained how to toggle between regular and poisoned samples, so I had to do the button-mash-until-it-happens thing. Anyway, it was actually pretty fun, but difficult.
The game mechanics are pretty interesting, but the game is really hard.
Even though there are so many things to look at and observe, it's very hard to tell what's going on, and the game over message appears so unexpectedly that I wasn't always sure what I was doing wrong. I was quite overwhelmed with the features and didn't even get to use the shop yet. :(
It seems like an interesting story and concept... Maybe next time you should keep it a bit simpler and have it more polished. If your profile tells the truth and this is your first entry, you've done an amazing job though. The graphics are nice, the UI is intuitive, and it's complete. :)
@phi & Every other commenter
Yep, it's also the first time I've ever actually made a game to any kind of somewhat playable state too.
Thanks for mentioning the game over screen, I'm currently taking all comments into account to make a post-compo version and the idea of a death reason hadn't even occurred to me :)
It definitely needs balancing, I feel it should have started with a kill quota of one and an inline tutorial. This as well as other general polish (like sound which can be seen as being started in the timelapse but didn't work flawlessly so I removed it again) would have been nice to have nice to get in but alas the time limit was on my shoulders so I had to go with what I had to make deadline.
Thanks to everyone so far for the help and I look forward to hearing more from other devs as judging continues!
There is a lot of potential here, and for a first entry this is a strong submission. I suggest with future jams you try to limit your scope a little so you can focus on the core mechanics- I was unable to make it to the shop as I found the gameplay too confusing. There are great ideas but they need refining to make it a more engaging experience.
Nice graphics and good game idea :)
Original, I'll give you that. Dubious thematic though.
That was such a cool concept! That was really cute how he was on a skateboard. And simultaneously grim poisoning strangers. It had an odd quality that I really liked :)
