The shop opens either when you run out of samples and meet the kill quota or when you meet the kill quota and press E. I had a slide in the tutorial that mentioned it but I forgot to add it, whoops :P
@phi & Every other commenter
Yep, it's also the first time I've ever actually made a game to any kind of somewhat playable state too.
Thanks for mentioning the game over screen, I'm currently taking all comments into account to make a post-compo version and the idea of a death reason hadn't even occurred to me :)
It definitely needs balancing, I feel it should have started with a kill quota of one and an inline tutorial. This as well as other general polish (like sound which can be seen as being started in the timelapse but didn't work flawlessly so I removed it again) would have been nice to have nice to get in but alas the time limit was on my shoulders so I had to go with what I had to make deadline.
Thanks to everyone so far for the help and I look forward to hearing more from other devs as judging continues!
Couldn't get this to run on OS/X Yosemite.
Quite tricky puzzles but I liked the mechanics
Loved the music, did have trouble switching to space from the home row though :P Did find I had to click in at the start of a song to make it take key input. Overall good use of the theme!
Could you provide a download version? I've tried to play a couple times but the web player hangs up at 100% loading
I adore the art style and the controls were very well executed.
Bit repetitive and could lag at times but generally a good giggle and a nice bit of fun.
Same here - FB is just a bit much
Very interesting mechanic!
I have absolutely no idea why I'm losing. Seems like a good concept but I can't figure it out at all
I tried to play and got a blank page
Your current game link is a 404! D:
Patched that bug now, thanks for letting me know!
Just patched the painting bug, really sorry about that!
Also fixed the crash after second planning, thanks FiveIronFanatic.
I will probably make a post compo version later this week with some of the features I just couldn't finish in time.
Guoboism, would you be able to run the game in cmd and post the error it gives you? It would help a lot. put the jar in your documents and run these commands in this order:
cd Documents
java -jar AdolfnoBaito.jar
Thanks!
Just uploaded a patch for that crash now if you want to give it a go! Glad you liked it.
Ah, if you're on PC you right click, go to 'Open with' and click "Java(TM) Platform SE Binary".
Was that on startup or in game?
Web version is currently not working.
I just get a white screen on both links.
Chrome error:
Uncaught SyntaxError: Unexpected token =
Line 719 of index.html
"Bird.prototype.update = function(catX, catY, catState, catVisibility, shallStop = true)"
Great concept!
Might want to include an epilepsy warning.
Really liked the concept, would play a full game of this!
Absolutely hilarious!
Fantastic use of the theme!
When you lose and play again, the message to press esc stays on screen. You may also want to make the web version link directly to the html file so it is easier to play.
Had some bugs when you lose but quite enjoyable overall.
