LD22 — Alone

[Greeble] by McFunkypants 2011-12-24T06:51:00

As a lot of people have said already, slow, but cool, and the first HTML5 game I've ever seen. When I picked up the first guy, I thought "Wow, that's some great AI!" but then realized I was complementing myself.

Last breath by deepnight 2011-12-24T19:57:00

Amazing game! It's full of atmosphere, and it has (as far as I know) a unique key element. The original version is very difficult, I only managed to get 8 balls, but I beat it in Easy mode. I couldn't figure out if the dog survived or not...

This Sentence is False by wademcgillis 2011-12-23T22:57:00

Is the MineCraft-like appearance intentional?

A.L.O.N.E. by KunoNoOni 2011-12-19T05:32:00

Right-click on the game and do "Show all" to see the whole thing... At least that's what I did. This game is pretty cool, but I think it could use more types of cavemen. For example, ones that take two hits to kill, or ones that have bows. Also, it annoys me how there's a lives system that doesn't do anything... It resets the game completely, I might as well reload the page! And finally, I must say the jumping is terrible! It's like something out of a Scratch game (go to scratch.mit.edu), and a bad one at that.
Sorry for the purely negative feedback - trust me, this is the kind of feedback I always give: long and full of complaints. I have trouble with both complementing and being concise.

A Weekend Alone by Nolan C 2012-01-18T00:12:00

Well, that settles it. I'm definitely entering Ludum Dare 23.

We Are Alone by Tifu 2011-12-24T06:14:00

I wish it worked in Wine... :( Is there anything I can use to compile that BMX file for Ubuntu?

LD23 — Tiny World

6 Degrees of Sabotage by dukope 2012-04-23T02:59:00

The link just leads me to a page with some information about the game ans some other links... It sounds fun, though.

6 Degrees of Sabotage by dukope 2012-04-23T03:07:00

Oh, I made it to the SWF file directly, but my screen isn't tall enough for it... In fact, it amazes me that anybody's screen is tall enough for it...

6 Degrees of Sabotage by dukope 2012-04-23T03:21:00

I finally managed to play it. It's a really great game concept! The only problem with it is that at the end, when you shoot the saboteurs, both times I played I missed and hit a bystander and one person got away. (Sorry for commenting 3 times in a row, I can imagine that being annoying...)

Just keep dying by misson20000 2012-05-11T17:52:00

Actually, the listed ways are the only ways to die, but you need to get the zombie or the clone to follow you for a bit so you can use the mine to shrink the world and then let it kill you.

Earth Evacuation by Pitʶik4 2012-04-30T21:43:00

Yes... Sorry about the lack of instructions, everybody, but I thought I was out of time (I submitted under 5 minutes before the Submission Hour started). I haven't been able to fix the notes since, I've been too busy. I will add more as soon as possible.

Earth Evacuation by Pitʶik4 2012-05-05T17:32:00

Ok, it's aggravating to say the same thing everybody else has said over and over, so just wait for me to fix the notes, please!! This is really annoying, my first Ludum Dare entry is ruined by a lack of instructions...

LD24 — Evolution

AInts vs Robots by YSelf Tool 2012-08-28T21:14:00

I can't run it. When I run it from the command prompt it just prints a blank line and then exits. I'm using 64-bit Windows 7.

Cubevo by NostraDamon 2012-08-28T02:31:00

Great game! It's really fun if you're careful with your EvoGems, but it can be a bit tedious at times.

Obsolete Upgrade by RARoadkill 2012-08-28T20:24:00

Fun game! The moving platforms, though... I've always hated waiting for moving platforms. And when I got to the second level, I saw the arrow pointing down, waited for a platform to arrive, got impatient, and jumped off. This resulted in me dying. It's a fun game, though, I just have a hard time giving positive feedback.

Survival Of The Tastiest by zeh 2012-08-28T03:07:00

Very good! It's a bit hard, though. I noticed that the person who wins is always the one that just spawns hordes of Fillinis, but when I tried that, it didn't work. Very fun anyway, though! And the multitouch emulation isn't bad, either. I got used to it really fast.

Super Darwin by sev_inf 2012-08-28T00:54:00

How do I pick up skulls? I found a skeleton in a cave, but I couldn't take its skull.

A.D.A.P.T.I.O.N.: You Are What You Eat! by Kumquat 2012-08-28T19:12:00

Fun, but hard. What if getting hit just made you get really hungry instead of one-hit killing you?

The life of Cat by Amoaeba Junior 2012-08-28T01:05:00

Fun game, understandable if it's a bit short. I had to give it a not-so-great rating in theme, though. Good work.

Silent Game of Death by everchanger 2012-08-28T02:47:00

Awesome game! You really made the Game of Life constructs seem more alive to me by having me kill them. They really are systems that can be broken by destroying bits of them!

Octo-Darwin Vs Bat-Monkey by AaronGordon 2012-08-28T20:34:00

Never mind, I replaced jre6 with jre7 in the batch file and it worked.

Octo-Darwin Vs Bat-Monkey by AaronGordon 2012-08-28T20:52:00

Charles Darwin as a mad scientist? Hahaha. This is quite a fun game! But it's taking every bit of self-restraint in my body to not open up a new tab in Chrome and go to that URL in the code that sends the scores to the online scoreboard! You might want to see about removing that hacked score of 9001, too, by the way. No, it's not mine.

Kitty Breeder 2012 by turnip 2012-08-28T01:37:00

This is quite a fun and innovative game idea! For my 3rd order, though, the guy wanted green cats, and I kept breeding the cats but didn't get any green ones.

Tiimmmeeee by matheod 2012-08-28T01:13:00

This is a fun game, good concept, but if that statue to the far right is the end, it's really short. If it's not... I'll have to play it again.

Untitled by Pitʶik4 2012-08-28T18:29:00

It crashed a lot on one of the people who beta tested the game, too. It has never crashed on me (well, at least not this version). I don't know why it's crashing, he sent me the terminal output and he was getting normal FPS and no stack trace. So it's not a performance issue and it's not an exception. I do have a few more ideas, so I'll try to fix the crashes as soon as I can. It would be helpful to know your OS and JVM version, too.

Untitled by Pitʶik4 2012-08-28T19:34:00

Maacus: Yes, it is rather hard. I usually upgrade agility and avoid battle at first and then start upgrading health like crazy when those guys that can kill you in one hit start showing up. Then I go in and try to kill them. I usually fail, too.
Gidaio: Thanks, I'm glad you liked it! About the platforming element needing refinement, you're talking about jumping, right? Ha, yeah, this way of jumping does seem a bit crude, but I think that in the long run it's better.

LD25 — You are the Villain

Prophecy of the Villain by Pitʶik4 2012-12-20T02:11:00

I'm glad to be receiving positive feedback for this game! It's not finished, so as you can see the world is mostly empty, the directions are poor, and there's no winning condition, but now that I see people like it, I'm quite probably going to make a complete version. So, pretty much what I'm saying is, thanks, glad you enjoyed the game!

LD26 — Minimalism

Stranded by vico87 2013-05-01T00:13:00

A nice break from pixelated, vibrantly colored, rectangular games. A bit short, though. It's nice having the game entirely stored in a JSON file, I've been modifying it a bit and I imagine mods of this game could be quite interesting.

Conversion by Spiridios 2013-04-30T00:20:00

This was great, proves the importance of audio in video games. Was I supposed to die at the end? More importantly, was I supposed to shoot everything that breathes? I'm not really sure, but I think that not quite knowing if you could have made a different choice is a good thing in games.

Something Has Changed by nixeldev 2013-04-29T23:28:00

Ok, before my review: Yayy! This is my first LD where I actually have a phone I can try out mobile games with!
Now that that's done, this is pretty great! It is very minimalistic, and it is quite out of the ordinary to introduce rules with so little information about them. I can see what you mean when you say it's better on a tablet, but I played it with two thumbs on my phone and it was just fine. I can't get far enough to tell if it ever ends, though.

Platonic Dot Solid by Prelucid 2013-04-29T23:59:00

This is great. It was impossible to ever be mad about dying when the character said "Ba-dum, ba-dum!" or "Embarrassing..." when he respawned. The graphics are also good, nice cartoony style, and the transition between shapes looked good.

Trial and Error by Stiju 2013-04-30T23:18:00

This game is genuinely fun, which I definitely can't truthfully say of all of the games I've tried so far. It's not the best theme-fitting game, but the theme wasn't so good itself. It could have fit the theme Exploration really well, though - I couldn't have imagined it being this interesting to explore a small platformer level.

A-Void by kingsman142 2013-04-29T23:35:00

The fog makes it difficult to see the obstacles until you're right about to hit them. Other than that it was good for its type, I personally didn't like it much, but that's just because I don't like this kind of game.

QUEST SPACE by VictorGrunn 2013-04-30T23:08:00

A one-button turn-based RPG... You know, I actually like this better than those games that are pretty much just like this except with the illusion of free choice. At least I don't have to blame myself for dying, haha. Also, this is definitely true to the theme.

Minimal Gravity by DavidErosa 2013-04-29T23:13:00

This is very impressive for 16 hours. Not only is it polished all except for level transitions, it also seems like an actual game, unlike my entry.

Door by hockeygoalie5 2013-04-30T00:07:00

Great job, the color mechanic makes for some great levels! You are wayyy better than me at making levels. My only criticism is that the white doors look too much like the grey walls.

You are the Minimalist by pighead10 2013-04-30T23:38:00

This is a very interesting concept. I've seen games where you have to walk the minimum distance or something, but using "chunks" made of lines and squares is much more creative and makes me think a lot more. It could use some polish, but the concept is there, and it's good. I can imagine the algorithm to break up the level into squares and lines may have been time-consuming, as well.

D.RE.U by Pitʶik4 2013-05-17T23:13:00

Spiridios: That was the ending, and yes, it is very anticlimactic. I was just getting really tired of making levels at that point. I wish I was better at level designing, then I probably could have made an actual false ending, which would have been cool.

D.RE.U by Pitʶik4 2013-05-28T07:42:00

I forgot to rate games again! I always do that! Gah.

LD27 — 10 Seconds

Insert Token(s) to Continue by Sestren 2013-09-07T23:38:00

Whoa... A raycaster in Flixel? That is super awesome. The game is original and challenging, too. Great work overall, my only complaint is the refreshing to restart. Did you use static variables a lot or something?

Second Legend by misson20000 2013-09-02T01:00:00

The gameplay was nice and simple, I especially liked the idea of using items directly from the (very Minecraft-like) inventory. As I recall, though, the beta version of this game had nice hand-composed music, and I don't hear any audio of any kind, online or in the applet. Also, it would have been nice if the levels later on had been more interesting instead of being made of mazes full of empty chests, but the super-speed effect of "punching" through the doors made it less bothersome. A pretty nice game overall.

Pleading Rain by Brassawiking 2013-08-26T18:12:00

This game's art is good and its mechanics are quite fun. I couldn't figure out that you had to click on thoughts, though, and went into the code with the full intention of finding some hidden line of dialogue to progress me past "Please Lou/Don't kill me Lou" when I saw the word "insight" and thought of clicking on the thoughts. Once I figured that out, it got a lot more interesting, although I couldn't seem to get any endings except F-rated ones. It was exciting, though!

glitchme.exe by Sos 2013-09-02T03:05:00

This is the only game so far to make me laugh. :)
On one of my attempts I heard a robotic voice start to say something unintelligible right before it crashed... Does... Does that mean I win?

Slime Quest by drkrunk 2013-09-02T02:10:00

This game is very innovative, and I like the graphics! The reversal of the idea of 10 seconds - 10 seconds without time - was very interesting, and I liked the delayed mimicking behavior of the slimes. I would definitely like to play an extended version of this game!

Low Memory by wrongcoder 2013-08-26T17:25:00

This is a very interesting concept, and a fun game! It's quite new to use controls and not have immediate feedback about what position the character's in.
Welll... Actually, it's not... That happens to me all the time when I turn my quality settings up too high in video games. Anyway, though, this makes simple challenges in platforming very difficult. It's like playing with your eyes closed and with no sound, and then being able to watch a replay of your performance.
My only complaint about this game is that it could use a way of resetting without waiting 10 seconds.

10 Seconds of Joy by CosmicAdventureSquad 2013-09-02T04:44:00

A little polish can go a long way in making a game good, and this game abounds in it! The gameplay is original and fun, and the game seems very complete. I especially like the way the music gets happier as the number of living optimists increases. There are only two things I would recommend for an updated version: adding a background to the level (maybe brown grass that turns green as optimists are recruited), and making levels with layouts instead of just populating the room differently as the player progresses.
Very well done!

Ten Second Dungeon by Jimanzium 2013-09-02T01:50:00

This game, for its simplicity, is very fun! The way the time limit works reminds me of that game... What's it called? 30-Second Hero, or something like that. I was surprised by the variety of rooms that could be entered, and the way the rooms seem to be constructed as you enter doors and you don't seem to leave the main area reminds me of... Actually, it reminds me of my own LD26 game. Also, this is the only game where I like the constant beeping when you're low on "health", because it's easy for me to forget about the time limit.

<<Rewind! by NIGIC 2013-09-02T03:25:00

This game is fantastic! I found it to be very genuinely fun, and the concept is very innovative, which can often be a hard combination to make. I've said on several games I would play an extended version... For this one, though, I would pay for an extended version!

TimeTester by UnixXNova 2013-09-02T01:29:00

Unfortunately, both WinRAR and 7-Zip reached an unexpected EOF, so I couldn't try it. :(

10 Seconds To Live by eskivor 2013-08-27T03:44:00

The idea and the visuals are nice, but in the end it seems like all there is to do is walk around and die. This seems like a good candidate for further work, though.

Crazy Genetist by ratalaika 2013-08-26T20:26:00

This game is surprisingly fun, and the music is nice! I have to admit, I didn't expect much when I saw the word "genetist" - it's supposed to be "geneticist" - but I'm glad I tried it! I had a streak of incredible luck and got to the point where the little mutants that show up in the top row start going offscreen because I had made so many. It can be a bit annoying when there are no pieces that can be placed in the grid, but it's a very good game anyway.

The Barrier by xrm0 2013-09-02T01:21:00

At first I thought this game would be easy, because I thought myself to be an excellent fast-clicker. Both of those thoughts were proven wrong, and now all I have after about 15 attempts is two hurting index fingers.

TrI-Deca by futuristteletex 2013-09-02T04:47:00

I couldn't seem to play. The screen just flickered and then turned white. :(

YorkTime by Steve | tacospice 2013-08-26T17:31:00

As far as I got, this game was great! I couldn't seem to get past the scary face, though. But the textures are excellent, and the music is great. The mechanic seemed promising, and was fun to mess around with for a while, but doesn't seem like it was used to its full potential... At least not in the first two levels.

10 Second Sushi by mutilator 2013-09-02T01:55:00

The graphics are very nice, and so is the audio. The gameplay is simple, but fun. I like it!

Defuse in 10 seconds by archaeometrician 2013-09-02T02:27:00

I'm not sure if this game is possible to beat, but either way, I lost. I had a stressful but fun time. The audio really helped set the mood, although the graphics left something to be desired.

Antipodist by Zap 2013-09-02T02:38:00

Attempt one: Extend both legs and hold them.
Attempt two: Extend both legs rapidly.
Attempt three: Alternate legs rapidly.
Attempts four to twenty or something: Repeat attempt three.
Attempt twenty-one or something is when I finally got it. I enjoy getting the hang of a game, though, so it was fun. :)

The Village of Lost Time by EpaceGames 2013-08-26T17:46:00

This game was great! This was the kind of concept for which it would be really easy to not use it properly and make something really annoying, but I can see a lot of little things at work here to make it less bothersome - for instance, the totems seem to target gatherers last.
The graphics are great, also, especially for 48 hours, along with programming a pretty complicated concept. This is the kind of quality I would be impressed by in a Jam entry. The only thing that reveals the time limit is the ending. It seems a bit rushed, but I can't exactly complain. I am guilty of creating some rushed endings, as well.

Every Ten Seconds A Kitten Drowns by matthias_zarzecki 2013-08-26T20:09:00

I saved every single cat I saw, and yet I still got a score of only 45%. :( The game was fun. :)

Mercurial by sorceress 2013-09-02T04:29:00

A great idea, and well-done! I couldn't seem to get the hang of it, though.

Mr Moore's Last Seconds by Tainted_Code 2013-09-02T01:41:00

The gameplay may be lacking, but anybody who has participated in a LD will be impressed bu just how much content is in this game. The soundtrack is by far the best I've seen in any Ludum Dare game, especially. I like the dove-jumping level especially - it shows the player that Mr. Moore is really just fantasizing, since he can't really jump across a flock of birds to retrieve a ring. The concept reminds me of To the Moon.

The 10-Second Murder by Rose 2013-08-27T04:36:00

This game seemed very complete. I completely forgot that it was a Ludum Dare game most of the time and just enjoyed the game, which, unfortunately, is not true of all of the games I've tried. The correct option ended up being one of the last ones I tried, though. I would say more, but I don't want to spoil it to others.

Jackton Factory by Pitʶik4 2013-08-26T17:53:00

Thanks for the positive comments! The idea of the game is really to keep trying until you figure out how the game works, and then try to perform while. In case you didn't catch on, clicking on signs will take you to the room they point to.
Yes, it is possible to beat. I put a URL to a video of the best ending in the notes.

Jackton Factory by Pitʶik4 2013-09-02T02:23:00

Just finished rating the games of all who commented on this game. Even if you didn't get a comment, I rated your game... Except for UnixXNova, whose game I unfortunately couldn't play.
I'm currently working on a complete rewrite of the game, and I'm planning on adding LOTS of new levels and content to the game, because I think that a lot of possible gameplay is what could make this game great. Thanks for playing, everyone!

LD28 — You Only Get One

But You Want One More by spx 2014-01-02T23:54:00

Autotracker music! Great! The track on the third level really reminds me of the music from my LD24 game.
Anyway, this game is great! The concept is really innovative and easy to catch on to. I found the levels visually appealing and interesting to play. My only problem was that I often spawned moving off the map, and I couldn't figure out how the lives system worked. Thanks for providing a Linux build, by the way!

One shot by Jod 2014-01-03T18:36:00

I really enjoyed this game! I got all 4 endings, although the 4th took me completely by surprise because I was just combining stuff to get funny failure messages and wasn't expecting the most serious ending to suddenly appear. The writing is great, and I actually like the way none of the story is actually shown in the images, it made it a bit more like reading a book.

One Jump by Xanjos 2014-01-02T21:32:00

I eventually gave up on the level with the "chimney" of spikes leading down to the door because for all I knew I would have to line myself up pixel-perfectly to get down it. It's too bad, because it seemed like the levels were starting to get interesting.

alONE by Christopher Schulte 2013-12-17T00:56:00

This is a really bizarre. It gets really, really, really laggy really fast, though. Is there something you're forgetting to remove from the scene?

Cat Gentlemans Play: Insult Spinner 10 Cents by RobotLovesKitty 2013-12-17T02:01:00

This game is very funny, I really liked the visuals. Having the gloves flap around without hitting anything in the slapping part makes it even better.

Series of tubes by 2kah 2014-01-06T23:27:00

Fun to play, the precise, column-based movement let me feel quite confident in some really close situations while still being challenging.

Leap Guy: The Later Years by PizzaPranks 2014-01-06T23:45:00

The last level was definitely the best. Flying fast through a narrow tunnel, making sure not to touch the ceiling, the floor, the platforms, or the bullets, was quite fun, even though that's probably not how it's intended to be played.

Below Zero by Kinzata 2013-12-16T23:54:00

It's simple, but fun. It could have used sound, though, even though there is no sound in space.

Hamlet by derdragon 2013-12-24T00:21:00

I don't actually know how Hamlet goes, and I didn't notice the walkthrough, but I actually managed to get through it. Of course, a decent portion of my 25,000 notoriety came from shouting random things when I had a line. The graphics and dialogue are great.

You Only Have One ATM by Vectorizing 2014-01-02T21:16:00

The Linux build does work on my computer. It doesn't capture the mouse and I had to use killall to close it, but neither of these were big problems.
Anyway, the game actually looks pretty good for the most part. The gameplay was, um... Well, I don't think this is the first game I've ever played where I got several thousand dollars I didn't know what to do with and then jumped off the edge of the world. Both happen to me commonly enough, I'm sure they've both happened in the same game before.

Press X to Win by Lost King 2014-01-05T22:16:00

How do I write a review? Oh, of course. X

Spring Crate by torcado 2014-01-01T07:22:00

I stopped when I ran out of things to smash in rage. Next time, keep in mind that it's way harder if you're not the one who made the game.
Other than the obscene difficulty, though, this game is really impressive for 48 hours. It looks and sounds good, and the mechanics are good aside from a few frustrations.
If you try harder to make something beatable next time, I'll look forward to playing it.

Wiped by Pitʶik4 2013-12-17T00:14:00

That's not the end, actually. There are two more levels after the fight.

Wiped by Pitʶik4 2013-12-17T01:08:00

Yes, it's hard and it has a simple graphics style. Maybe you don't like it so much, but I wouldn't change that if I were to remake it.

Wiped by Pitʶik4 2014-01-03T19:14:00

psychonull, you can skip cutscenes with Enter. A few of my friends I showed the game to after submitting didn't notice that, either, even though I put it in the first dialogue box of the game. I'm not sure why.

LD29 — Beneath the Surface

Ripple Runner by DDRKirby(ISQ) 2014-05-20T04:03:00

This is absolutely stunning. You should port it to Android/iOS, I bet it would be quite popular!

Meddle by Pitʶik4 2014-04-29T03:10:00

Perhaps you're underestimating the length of the Meddler's reach. You can inspect something when there's a space of up to your own width between it and yourself.

Meddle by Pitʶik4 2014-04-29T05:39:00

Yes, I'm sorry about the controls. They're preeetty bad. I spent a while trying to figure out a better way, but nothing came to me. Oh, well.
Also, second puzzle: not in the pit, over it.
Anyway, thanks for all the positive comments! I'm very glad to see that my game is enjoyed!

Meddle by Pitʶik4 2014-05-04T19:19:00

Yes, as a matter of fact, changeType() was an inspiration for this. I'm not sure what Broken Age has to do with it, though.

The Show Must Go On by Sestren 2014-04-29T02:01:00

I love this concept! But man, what do I have to do to please the people watching? Hire some actual actors and crew? Yeah, right. Also, the tutorial wasn't so great, it was hard to read it fast enough, but it was easy to catch on to and a lot of fun, even though I did fail miserably at it many times.

The Sea Has No Claim by dukope 2014-05-02T23:55:00

This is very complete and a very good concept! It's also very easy, though. There's a simple and foolproof formula for every level, but in each one it's unique, which makes it very interesting and fun anyway.

Radices by mariscal 2014-04-30T23:34:00

This was very interesting and fun! It's a very innovative idea, and although there are some flaws, it is very fun to play.

The Tree by Joritan Cety 2014-04-28T04:03:00

I like the branching level tree of levels, but the combat is a chore.

Pressure by Nezzhil 2014-05-05T19:58:00

It took me a while to catch on to it, but once I did it was a lot of fun. It seemed like the control room was on fire more often than not, though!

The Worlds Beneath by jugglerrob 2014-04-29T02:47:00

This game felt very polished, I really liked the graphics! Aside from the length, it was easy to forget it was made in just 48 hours.

Sundiver by kmakai 2014-04-29T02:21:00

Is there any way at all to dodge those weird squid things? I started ignoring them after a few unsuccessful attempts. If those were friendlier, though, this would be excellent. Very simple and elegant in pretty much every way.

Something Beneath the Surface (Sea's will) by Striwx 2014-05-12T00:23:00

It looks very good, but I couldn't figure out what I had to do.

Beneath The Surface: A detective story of video game conspiracies. by taocayo 2014-04-29T02:04:00

This looks very interesting, if you make a Linux build I'll definitely try it. Unfortunately, the Unity Web Player doesn't work on Linux.

NOT THE ELEPHANT by snapman_GT 2014-04-30T00:40:00

This is a very fun little thing! It could have used a bit more challenge, though.

Bubble Cannon by Acuity 2014-05-04T01:31:00

There is no way any other games have been submitted this LD with music this good. And the charging sound actually harmonizes with it. I would rate this 10/5 in Audio if I could.
Game-wise, it's unremarkable, but addicting. But, man, I'm going to go download the music from SoundCloud! How can this even be Ludum Dare music?

Layered by Jessica Hayley 2014-04-30T00:44:00

I like it, the game becoming easier as you go is an interesting idea.

Above and Below by pighead10 2014-05-02T02:59:00

I found the spinning when beneath the surface made it completely unplayable. Too bad, since it seemed like it would be fun.

LD30 — Connected Worlds

elemens by Steve | tacospice 2014-08-26T07:15:00

Great game, loved the graphics, and the characters always had great dialogue. It feels like you put in some thought to your world, too.

Superconnected World by aDFP 2014-08-26T09:46:00

The Linux version works, but:
* The score is a bit hard to read
* I can't figure out a reason why I shouldn't just constantly shoot
* Is there any sort of ending?
* Sounds got annoying after a bit, but until then, they were pretty good
* Not very clear how it relates to the theme

Otherwise, it was a pretty fun game

Sunborn: The tale of connected worlds by Windmill Games 2014-08-26T09:53:00

You've got a good story, and the background look great, but the main character could've had better graphics/animation, the background noises got annoying after a bit, and the default resolution didn't fit on my 1366x768 screen

FLIP! by SetArray 2014-08-26T04:09:00

The mechanic isn't new to me, but the level design is quite good (certainly beyond what I could do). The music was great, too, I was going to ask if you made it yourself until I noticed that it was a compo entry.

The Worldly Duke by Pitʶik4 2014-09-05T01:04:00

(Posting as Pitzik4.)
BMacIntosh: Thanks. Although OotS wasn't a direct influence on the style, I did notice the similarity. The animation was done in Synfig. This game uses an engine I made before the Jam, and I also wrote a Python script that converts .sifz files to my custom animation format. I'm especially glad you like the animations, because this engine is also being used in my first big project, Spanner in the Works.

LD31 — Entire Game on One Screen

The Second Thought or Please, Don't Touch Anything by Four Quarters 2014-12-29T20:31:00

This was quite the experience! The graphics and animation were beautiful, as others have said. The only puzzles I couldn't figure out on my own were the simplest ones... the 1234 buttons and figuring out that you can press the red button more than twice. Well, OK, I also had to look in the guide to figure out where, exactly, the points of the pentagram were, but I didn't really have any way of figuring that out as far as I know.

Megamage by Pitʶik4 2014-12-20T20:08:00

Hmm. Well, first, I'm glad you guys liked the story and the writing so much! A bit surprising, too, since that wasn't really my focus. I may try a dialogue-driven game next LD.

Looking back on it now, giving the player a button and saying "figure it out" probably wasn't the best way to introduce them to this mechanic. In a nutshell, everything that's not visible from the focus point is nonsolid in the grass world. So, normally, everything in the grass world seems to be solid, since, if you can collide with it, you can probably see it. When you put down the focus point, everything that you can't see in the grass world is no longer solid, so you can pass through it.

LD32 — An Unconventional Weapon

The morning type by Liam :D 2015-04-22T01:35:00

I just switched from a laptop to a desktop PC, so this was tough, but I can also confirm that it gave me a great headstart on getting my typing speed back up. The player character sort of reminded me of Arthur Dent: "The word 'bulldozer' wandered through his mind for a moment in search of something to connect with."

Backfire by Marjie62 2015-04-22T02:48:00

This is quite elegant and polished! After a few levels, though, I started having to experiment a *lot* each level, since the way things work wasn't explained at all and things became so sensitive to very, very precise details. Some elaboration on the rules would have been nice; I ended up giving up on the checkerboard level where the "twinbot" is introduced because I was getting tired of experimenting.

The Goo Sword by DiegoEscalante 2015-04-22T01:19:00

I hit an unlucky streak after a while and didn't get any geysers for what might have been a full minute. 371 points.

The simplicity is very nice, though I would have liked to see some variation in gameplay. It gets repetitive after a while. Still, there's an elegance to this game that some people, such as myself, just can't seem to muster. No levels. Minimal text. Only one type of enemy, randomly spawned until the player dies. In the end, a game doesn't need to be more complicated than that.

Guide 2 Where? by Pitʶik4 2015-04-22T22:50:00

Huh, I never actually tried counting the endings before. I suppose ten would be a reasonable estimate, so, yes, there are seven more. The true ending is the one that says "Congratulations." I don't really expect anyone to get it, but it would be awesome if someone did.

Guide 2 Where? by Pitʶik4 2015-05-11T02:31:00

drludos, I hadn't previously considered doing a walkthrough. That is now a high priority on my "to do" list.

deadbodyoutline, what if I told you... I developed the entire game on Chromium for Linux? :) Because I did. Always nice to see another Chromium user!

LD34 — Two Button Controls / Growing

Wanderer of the Frozen Wastes by nassi 2015-12-18T00:39:00

I love the movement system. It's unlike anything I've seen before, and it really makes me feel like a ninja being able to pull off such cool maneuvers with just two buttons.

I can. by Pitʶik4 2015-12-18T01:46:00

Believe it or not, I've been told the text was too fast. I did all I could, but I worried from the start that it would be poorly suited for the Ludum Dare "rate 25 games and then keep going" judging style.

And, yeah, this game is not optimized for performance.

LD35 — Shapeshift

Linear Motion by Pitʶik4 2016-04-20T01:37:00

Thanks, but the gear isn't spinning in the wrong direction. It isn't rolling along the walls. It's just... spinning.
