LD30 — Connected Worlds

Cosmic Conqueror by MunkeeBacon 2014-09-04T02:02:00

I don't really know why, but I really liked this game. Perhaps it was because of the adventurous feel it had to it or something...

The Octate Worlds by Jogy34 2014-09-06T20:59:00

Wasn't a huge fan of the audio, but it wasn't bad either. All in all there was a lot included in this game, and I like what you did with the connecting of the worlds. Good job.

Galactic Pest Control by HeyChinaski 2014-09-06T21:04:00

I really like the spider AI. Especially how they only occasionally run straight at you and follow you for a short while, and then go back to ensnaring all of the planets. I really liked this entry, great work man.

Dua/el by Galan 2014-08-27T01:24:00

Mouse sensitivity was very low, and rather difficult to play with. The blue player's shooting would have been better with rotation, but all well. The art was fine. Lack of audio was a disappointment, but we can't all be awesome audio-creators ;). Lastly, hitting ESCAPE crashes the program all together. It was a good concept and has real potential though.

Break-Vaders by NukeTheBunnys 2014-08-27T00:19:00

I got a "Computer missing OpenAL32.dll error when trying to run it. All other games have ran fine though, so who knows.

Just an Otter Game by Logan 2014-08-27T00:58:00

That's a pretty amazing concept and game you have there, wish I'd thought of that. I really like the change in view from game-to-game. Great job man!

Evacuate by Cherno 2014-09-06T20:43:00

Definitely amazing audio. I won the game, although I'm not entirely sure how I did it. Perhaps clearer instructions would have been nice. Great job on the audio though, and the concept was nice. I like your videos as well. ;)

Starving Symbiosis by Lasty 2014-08-27T02:03:00

I didn't understand why you used the name for the game you did until I actually played it. It was pretty intriguing and definitely has potential. Once you add that zombie defense portion I have no doubt I could play this for extensive periods of time.

Blue Screen by varun 2014-08-25T03:29:00

Very good game, I love what you did with the wireframe cyberspace.

Karma Cycle by atrodo 2014-08-25T03:32:00

Interesting take on the theme :)

Voxel Ville by Jordan Kniest 2014-08-25T03:16:00

It says it because it isn't downloaded often, I'd ignore it.

I like how you got it to connect people's houses into a city, very nice.

Sandbox Battle by jpverkamp 2014-08-31T20:02:00

I like the concept. This would be one of those games you just play in your free time. Similar to the original Pinball game on the old Windows operating systems.

Connector World by Tom 7 2014-08-27T01:35:00

"Oh yeah, sometimes there are metal balls around. I don't know what that's all about..."

Had me laughing haha, good game man. I like how you made it "connect" and humor the player.

Timehop by Lord bobyness 2014-08-27T01:48:00

Fun game and a cool concept, I thoroughly enjoyed playing it. The music and audio all-together was very nice as well.

Into The Shadows by Dans17 2014-09-01T03:26:00

Definitely had a spooky mood to it. Love these kinds of horror games. Although it was difficult, you did a good job.

The Bacon Uprising by Tigro 2014-08-28T00:28:00

Definitely not something I'd have expected. You certainly have a creative mind.

Lava Is Last by Crefossus 2014-09-04T01:43:00

I really like the concept. As someone had already stated, for some reason I couldn't stop playing until I had won...which is a sign of a good game. ;)

The Interplanetary Armada Defense Squad vs. The Neverending Saucer Fleet by alangamebot 2014-08-27T00:12:00

It was an interesting concept, however I agree that it gets very difficult very quickly. Nice music though, it seems fitting.

Flipping World by TheBoat 2014-09-04T01:48:00

Kind of gets tiring constantly clicking the arrow keys to move one tile at a time. Graphics could have been better too, but all in all it was an interesting concept and a decent game. I think you deserve a nap.

Sunny Days by Jacob123 2014-09-04T01:26:00

Compo version is pretty buggy, but it was a nice game regardless. I love the animation in this, I could have never integrated such smooth animation into my games. Even the little things like the flower movement were great, good job man.

Darkness by kevinAlbs 2014-08-26T02:19:00

Very hard after the checkpoint, but excellent and very fun game none-the-less. Loved the ending!

Steam by Pinktreeleaf 2014-09-13T04:27:00

Pretty good story. I kind of got bored half-way into it, but I'm glad I stuck through to the end,

Sinister by Joe Williamson 2014-08-26T03:44:00

Ten out of ten. Amazing graphics, music and story had me totally immersed. You got the mood spot-on. Simply amazing.

I.A.N by GoudaGames 2014-08-31T19:50:00

Instructions weren't very clear, so it took me maybe a minute to understand what to do. After I figured that out though, it was pretty fun despite it getting difficult quickly.

Cut And Upside by gamesbyangelina 2014-09-06T21:21:00

The music set a pretty creepy mood for this. I wish there was more to this than just walking around houses and t-models, but with some extra content and animation this could potentially become a really nice game.

Beyond The Horizon by Lazdo 2014-08-27T00:37:00

Agreed, this was a pretty nice game. It made you think a little when doing the puzzles, and the music to go with it fit pretty well.

Yocast by HuntTheWumpus 2014-09-13T04:14:00

Really nice game. You can't get too far due to running out of money rather quickly and not being able to obtain enough to buy the line you need, but a fun game none the less.

Warp Corp by seantheartist 2014-08-26T02:48:00

Entertaining game, but I agree that the push effect is rather drastic.

Clone by theCoder15 2014-08-30T05:22:00

Good concept. Gotta love programmer art haha, I know how it feels. The constant shooting of the gun does get very annoying however. Level creation was pretty good though.

Colonized worlds by Gabe 2014-08-29T03:14:00

It was a pretty good game in my opinion. It kept me occupied for a while and I enjoyed playing it, so I guess that's what is important when making a game. Good job man.

State of Mind by Nylonica 2014-08-26T02:26:00

Menu controls are rather odd, but all well. It was a pretty entertaining game, although difficult to shoot the enemies at times. It seems to me like you have an obsession with Beyonce though. :p

Space Explorer by Rock48 2014-08-26T02:59:00

Like the concept of having a market, most people don't add a store because they are too lazy. ;)

Antipode by BROWNY_09 2014-08-26T02:01:00

I think this would/could be a very entertaining game if more levels were included. Implementation of the theme was pretty creative, yet it seems like it'd be difficult to add difficult, "mind-boggling" levels. Good game for the lack of time though.

Connection Lost by Enzo42 2014-09-06T21:34:00

Really the only difficulty I could find with it was getting the recipes. Other than that everything else seemed to work alright.

The Circle Of Life by Tom Snively 2014-08-26T02:38:00

Pretty different take on the theme compared to everyone else. Interesting game however.

Affix It by SaxonRah 2014-08-27T00:15:00

I couldn't get the game to download.

Precipice of Eternity by tjp7154 2014-08-27T01:55:00

I got stuck and the game froze as well. I applaud you for being the only one I've seen so far to interpret the "Connecting Worlds" as the real world and dream world. I really liked the concept.

InterVersal by micdoodle8 2014-08-29T03:22:00

Whilst loading the first level, nothing appeared but the two bots. Movement and collision works, but otherwise it is nothing but a black screen.

Polypus by Code White 2014-09-01T17:54:00

The idea was good, but the execution could have been better. Game also crashes after three or four losses.

Card Split Wars by SpringPowered 2014-08-29T03:35:00

Interesting concept. Confusing at first, but I like it. This is the first card and/or turn-based game I've come across so far in this LD.

DimLey by Simaflux 2014-08-29T03:32:00

Good mechanics and a good concept. Spice up those graphics and it would make a great mobile app.

UnderWhelmed by catchthefloaty 2014-08-26T03:30:00

Amazing art style and animation you have going there. Music really got my attention and immersed me into the mood of the game.

OmniCorp by tigerbyte 2014-08-27T01:28:00

One of the few games with a trading system in it, I like it.

Filter Prism by spacedoubt 2014-08-29T03:28:00

I couldn't even make it past the first part. Nice concept though.

Humanity VS Samuel by ebolbe 2014-08-31T20:13:00

Pretty humorous game. The audio was pretty good. I wasn't able to figure out how to reach the portal though. Perhaps clearer instructions would be better?

FLIP! by SetArray 2014-08-27T02:19:00

As per what was advised, all downloads have been moved over to DropBox links.

FLIP! by SetArray 2014-09-01T19:52:00

@jpverkamp Chrome has flagged almost every single game on LD as malicious for me so far. It got to the point that I had to disable Chrome's malware filter just to Play & Rate. It's a result of it being an uncommonly downloaded file.

FLIP! by SetArray 2014-09-01T20:54:00

Since everyone seemed to be least satisfied with the collision detection, I went ahead and changed it over into a circular bounding box instead of a rectangular one. Hopefully that makes for a better experience for you all.

Find my Sun by stink123456 2014-08-26T03:13:00

I could not load the webpage to play your game.

Two Worlds by Lord Draficus 2014-09-03T02:16:00

I like the concept, and it is indeed an enjoyable game. My only problem is that 90% of the time I could only move and play the game if the pause menu was open, as having it closed would actually pause the game.

The Maze Of Worlds by rd127p77 2014-08-27T01:13:00

Not terrible for a first game. I would focus a lot on collision detection though. Jumping while touching a wall and simultaneously moving freezes you mid-air, and left-hand collision is extremely buggy. When it comes to left hand collision, based one the way the spikes are set up, it looks like each block consists of two parts, and I assume you just accidentally set it to spawn you on the right side of the block instead of the left side when you collide with the right side of another block.

All in all for a first game it wasn't bad though, and it did keep me entertained.

The Maze Of Worlds by rd127p77 2014-08-27T01:18:00

**Adding on to my previous comment:

Also don't forget that they allow you to fix minor bugs such as the collision thing if I was correct about it simply being a typo or something.

Bald-Faced SPACE TRUCKERS by Axebane 2014-08-26T02:34:00

I like what you did with the different depths of meteors, stars, and ships. It was an interesting game.

Everything is CONEcted by fauge 2014-08-29T03:04:00

The shop worked, but took me a while to figure that out since it gives no indication. I started with -100.0 money, and jumping off a high ledge and spawning in the middle caused me to continue falling infinitely until I jumped on land again.

All in all it was a decent game though. While basic, it wasn't bad.

Cablage by Allchimik 2014-08-26T02:44:00

Definitely set an eerie mood for the game. Slightly laggy at the beginning when looking down the hallway but it clears up afterwards. Game definitely has potential with the storyline you could plan out.

Shadows and Lights by aucguy 2014-08-29T02:57:00

How are we supposed to run this? All I see is a .zip file with source code and assets.

Disconnect by banana4life 2014-08-26T03:11:00

I like the style, and I've never seen your take on "hidden" tiles hidden by walls before. Also very entertained and loved your interpretation of the theme. I am very impressed with this.

Amphibian by ConciseBit 2014-09-03T02:26:00

Interesting little game you have here, definitely raw though. In the web version movement and transformation wasn't working, so I had to download the .jar file.

Meet The Moon by K55 2014-08-26T01:56:00

Very slow on my computer and kind of confusing. Great graphics though, that is undeniable.

mast by jmf 2014-08-27T00:08:00

At times it was slightly difficult, but all around it was an enjoyable game. Despite having the retro 8-bit graphics style, you still managed to pull it off. Good job man.

SpaceM by madmaw 2014-08-26T03:06:00

Double-clicking the file generated the folder for the .dll files, however I could not get the game to launch.

SpaceM by madmaw 2014-08-28T00:36:00

Got around to playing your game after the fix, it's pretty good. I like the shooting upgrade concept, and I think the breaking animation of asteroids is pretty cool.

School Schism by SusanTheCat 2014-09-01T03:18:00

I like graphic novels, and this one was pretty good. It really sets a mood for itself doesn't it?

A New and Beautiful World by TKia_ 2014-08-31T19:59:00

pretty good story-writing in my opinion. I couldn't have come up with that much story in such a limited amount of time.

Space Age by john111898 2014-08-28T00:31:00

The UI doesn't even work for me. It just comes up as a completely white/red-striped square with nothing in it.

Space Warfare by someone9999 2014-08-27T01:41:00

It's like a game of Risk...loved it.

Geometrismo by 2A1S 2014-09-03T02:08:00

Excellent RTS. Enemy AI was fairly difficult, but the game was fun none-the-less.

The Nether by GFM 2014-08-31T20:24:00

Honestly I wasn't expecting to see a game like this in LD30, but that isn't a bad thing, I really liked it.

Sender by toranoko 2014-08-25T03:18:00

Chrome refuses to allow me to downloading it, stating that it is malicious.

Sender by toranoko 2014-08-25T03:25:00

Turned off the chrome setting and played it. Pretty enjoyable, and I like the graphics.

Delving by kakuremino 2014-08-27T00:31:00

My Anti-Virus BitDefender detected this as a malicious file. Game doesn't seem to be working as it should be, and if it is then it isn't explained what to do very well. Interesting concept with the sound though.

LD31 — Entire Game on One Screen

Little Dude's Epic Adventure by Jim Haslett 2014-12-09T23:00:00

I really liked the narration. It was an excellent game, and it's always nice to see a fellow LWJGL user! Only issue I had with it was that I was able to outrun the narrator's voice, starting the next sound-clip before the previous one had finished. Playing both at the same time.

That doesn't take away from the game at all in my opinion though. Great job!

Space Melee by reverso13 2014-12-24T18:08:00

Agreeing with what peejaygee said, I have no experience with Adobe AIR. Just as with him, I chose against running the application. I'm not accusing you of anything, and please don't take offense from this. I just have no experience with it.

Your Screen is Mine! by D3zmodos 2014-12-24T07:28:00

Excellent game, and I love how it adapts to your screen. Only complaint is that it was rather difficult to survive more than maybe 15 seconds.

Zombie Maze Escape by Thepattybeast 2014-12-20T05:33:00

Windows 8 x64 could not run the game.

Happy Snowball by gmaker 2014-12-10T03:50:00

I liked the graphics style. I could never make graphics like that, my art-skills are too poor, haha.

Don't you touch da bouncy by Phyyl 2014-12-25T23:46:00

The download link is broken for me.

SLY SHORT-SIGHTED SNOWMEN by explosivose 2014-12-25T23:55:00

Loved this game. Especially how all the snowmen follow you with such a simplistic path, it almost felt like the game "Snake" to me. Amazing entry, very unique and fun. Good job!

One Scene Prison by nbilyk 2014-12-21T03:55:00

Pretty fun, and it kept me interested until finish. Also, I was able to get an infinite amount of light bulbs :p

Modern Dwarfare by PoQA Games 2014-12-13T01:32:00

Really enjoyed this game. I played until I died, and then considered trying again for a longer time. Definitely a quality of a good game!

PixelFighterZ by Rothens 2014-12-09T22:49:00

Pretty much agreeing with everyone else. Has potential to be an excellent game. Currently though, I agree sound and a menu would be nice. Unlike the others though, I like the jerky scrolling.

E' Tempo di Combattere by superfrog 2014-12-12T23:29:00

Good game. I loved the music as well, it seemed fitting. I especially respect the music since it was self-made.

My only complaint is the collision detection with the bullets. At first I thought you had to aim at a very specific point on the zombie's collision box, but then I realized that there WAS ray-tracing being done, it was just...off. At times I was aiming places where there was nothing in the way, and slaying zombies at the same time. Despite this, it was still a fun game and I enjoyed it very much.

Sad Little War-Bot by sorlok 2014-12-13T01:44:00

Definitely had some great humor in it, and this is one of the few entries I actually loved playing. In fact, I didn't want to stop playing. Nice art style, subtle story, sound, all of it. I enjoyed this one. :)

Existential by LukeZaz 2014-12-10T02:29:00

Your website or whatever website is hosting the file seems to be down.

FlipDrop by ForeignGuyMike 2014-12-13T01:35:00

Very fun. Kind of strikes me as one of those apps that could surprisingly catch on and be very popular. Maybe try it out? It definitely has the potential.

Mind Traveller by Ogniok 2014-12-09T23:35:00

Amazing gameplay, however it was incredibly difficult in my opinion. Good game regardless, and it really set a nice mood!

Broken by SetArray 2014-12-08T14:21:00

@rincewind_cz It isn't so much that I didn't focus on gamer experience as it is a bug in the code with the random chance of an enemy/pixel spawning at lower frame rates. I can fix it when I get home from work.

Broken by SetArray 2014-12-09T03:45:00

Okay guys, random chance spawning has been fixed

Broken by SetArray 2014-12-09T23:55:00

Alyphen Thanks for posting the stack trace. Unfortunately, I don't have a Mac so I cannot delve further into the problem. Guess I'll just have to remove the Mac address. :/

Broken by SetArray 2014-12-12T23:00:00

Okay guys, enemies no longer spawn on top of you.

Broken by SetArray 2014-12-20T23:23:00

@zompi
I wasn't being racist when I made the game. It's just that, when it comes to RGB pixels, black is the absence of all color while white is the presence of all color.

Also, the space key was a debugging thing I forgot to take out. It resizes the window to a different resolution.

Broken by SetArray 2014-12-22T19:04:00

@peterthehe what was wrong with the execution? If it's because of the art, that can't really be prevented. I am definitely not known for my artistic ability.

Start the Screen ! by bobombe 2014-12-12T23:49:00

I agree with what everyone else is saying. It was a very cool idea, and the core logic has great potential. If you had more time for game design I feel that you could have really shown this.

Escape The Creeper! by DarkCart 2014-12-13T01:48:00

Going off what Soron said, the game was extremely laggy. At first, I thought you had to continuously tap the movement keys to make the player move. You should really look into some optimization.

The Room by Kain.Oborin 2014-12-20T05:22:00

Loved the story line...definitely kept me interested the whole time!

Just a Little Screen Time by ppupae 2014-12-12T23:35:00

I tried to complete the first level, but it wouldn't let me open the door.

Solus by InToGames 2014-12-20T19:06:00

I got an error: OpenAL32.dll is missing, so I could not play this.

Brofist Simulator 2014 by Johnro 2014-12-13T01:12:00

Very creative

Rainbow-Maze by grid96 2014-12-10T02:21:00

I thought it was a nice game. I also like how (I noticed at the end) that the level numbers are made up of the level themselves. Very nice.

On a side note: While I do think the added elasticity to the blocks was cool, it wasn't entirely necessary for a maze game. :p

Captain Wupcroix by Detocroix 2014-12-09T22:53:00

Good art. Only thing I have against it is that trying to look at the night sky with the spying glass only shows a random island. :p

Bionic Bliss by Mechamew 2014-12-09T22:38:00

Definitely a nicely made game. It kept me entertained all the way through, which I guess is what counts.

Blacklaby by fauche_j 2014-12-24T05:04:00

I got the game to run, however I was unable to control the player

Ethics Simulator: Fishbowl Life by Mindcake 2014-12-24T05:11:00

Awesome game, I thought it was very humorous seeing all the animals around the fish die!

Shoob by jonnopon3000 2014-12-20T19:09:00

When I tried running this game everything but the cube was black.

Deep Side by 2A1S 2014-12-20T19:21:00

I really liked this one...especially the mood is sets with the crazy man and story.

Pushy Blockbuster by Darthone 2014-12-21T03:57:00

Interesting concept. I like the mechanics, however it is very difficult to keep track of everything with so many blocks.

V for Vectory: Maximum Overquill Edition by quill18 2014-12-09T22:42:00

Absolutely loved it. It was extremely fun, and games like this are the kind that I aspire to make in my future Ludum Dares.

LD32 — An Unconventional Weapon

A Punker's Tale by ChronusZ 2015-04-21T00:25:00

The .jar would not run for me. (Windows 8.1)

Mechanically Enhanced Nano Unit by Frosnite 2015-04-23T02:01:00

Amazing game, but some instructions would be nice. It took me a really long time to figure out that the pause menu was the weapon, and I still don't know how to activate the faded platforms.

ZombieDefend by Robert 2015-04-21T00:17:00

As with Sim, it took me a while to notice the icons in the corner.

Mary by SetArray 2015-04-25T00:53:00

@sorlok all good mechanics. If only I had the time to do it haha.

Coneopolypse by fauge 2015-04-23T01:43:00

The zombies would only hit me once, meaning I could stand in one spot and never take damage. Other than that it was alright. Controls were confusing, and at first I thought I was supposed to run the zombies over with my block. :)

Letter Spray by Megapiemanphd 2015-04-21T00:22:00

Loved the music and voice acting. Controls were kind of awkward, yet manageable. How you came up with such an idea I have no idea!

noisecontroller by lamogui 2015-04-29T03:48:00

Excellent game. Really like how we can use our own music for it.

Brainzaxd "a stationary traveller adventure" by tughan 2015-04-23T01:51:00

My only complaint is that my ammo was going negative, and for some reason hitting reload shot green projectiles as well as reloading. Looks very nice, however.

LD35 — Shapeshift

Geo Shifter by Turkey 2016-04-30T02:11:00

Woohoo second best score!

Fun and challenging game, good job mate.

Lycanthrope by Nnnnneeeedddd 2016-04-29T15:53:00

The game crashes instantly for me when trying to run it. Here's the stacktrace:

Error in shader: ERROR: 0:1: '' : Version number not supported by OGL driver
ERROR: 0:3: 'layout' : syntax error syntax error

Geo Fighter by SetArray 2016-04-19T22:51:00

I'm working on it, sorry for the trouble guys.

Geo Fighter by SetArray 2016-04-21T20:11:00

I fixed the crashing issue. It wasn't a missing file, there was just an issue with the file-loading code.

Geo Fighter by SetArray 2016-04-21T22:30:00

Thank you so much for finding that chocobyte. This was my first time using shaders as well, and since it ran on my computer I wouldn't have known what was wrong.

I sincerely apologize for all the problems guys, I'm sure this is as much of an annoyance for me as it is you guys.

Geo Fighter by SetArray 2016-04-26T08:00:00

Not my first LD, just my first 3D game. :)

I appreciate the input. The repetitive patterns were going to have a part in the gameplay based on what you'd be fighting but I didn't have time to implement that. But yeah I agree, the tiling could have been better.

I'm not sure why the controls acted that way for you, never seen/heard of that being an issue before. This wasn't the intended goal of the game, I literally threw what I had together in the last hour to make it something "playable" haha

Theme is very subtle, but I with the music I was definitely feeling the mood.

It was difficult at first but the more I played the better I got. I like the concept, it reminds me of Guitar Hero.

When I open the game it shows the "Made By Unity" animation, then a floor of some sort and then the screen just goes black.

Maybe I'm just not smart enough to figure it out, but I can't figure out what you are supposed to do after you shapeshift into a spider. The jump directly above you is too tall to make it onto that platform.

Yes I restarted the level and figured that out. I just didn't notice it, my bad. Although now I'm stuck inside of a triangular platform. :)

Played it through. I really enjoyed the plot behind it. The relation to the theme was simple but implemented extremely well. Nice game!
