Good try, but I don't see any enemy in the game, is that intended? I have no idea what I should do in this game...

asobitech 2014-12-11 00:23

Looking forward to an online version, or wrapped.
You want to make it as easy as possible for people to play your game.

jonnopon3000 2014-12-11 13:19

@Team Flashlight - is there any output in the browser dev console that might indicate what is going wrong? This issue has not been reported yet and I'd like to pinpoint the cause. May I ask which browser + OS you are using?

@asobitech Absolutely, I'm checking the progress of hosting regularly - it should be up very soon.
Problems caused by my site (where I normally host the games) being unavailable at current.

So I like the idea of shooting enemies on a rotating cube. However, the enemies were probably too easy (they do nothing to attack you, apart from the rare ones that can shoot).
Also on the white face, either your character or bullets are white too (so they are impossible to see)?

But with some polish and more challenging enemies, this is really solid :)

It's sad that you were not able to find a place to host your game (especially since it is javascript, and thus is very platform independent!).

(I had to edit the app.html to make it work: apparently the file "level/levelManager.js" was referenced in the html-file with an uppercase "L")

jonnopon3000 2014-12-12 22:27

@SneManden Haha, yes - more time was definitely required just to implement that one last planned enemy type (chaser), change the cube's colors (less saturation please) and find somewhere to host it.

Thanks for pointing out the LevelManager.js reference; I must've fixed this one just minutes after packaging the download and forgot to update it.

OK, so thanks to my good friend a hosted version is now up - we noticed a couple of dumb problems (incorrect relative paths on sounds since I was using localhost/ address for development, bad event listening) and fixed them. The fixed version (playable at last) will be available before the end of the day (11:55 AM here in England right now).

Thanks for the patience everyone.

Nice little game, but hard to navigate, i got confused a few times because I didn't know where I was facing, so i runn into some enemys.

blue-thumbs-gaming 2014-12-14 15:38

Controls are very precise and easy. Too bad there's not much happening (enemies are no challenge) and the white face of the cube was unplayable because I couldn't see my "character".

shadowstryker 2014-12-20 19:09

When I tried running this game everything but the cube was black.

01rafael 2014-12-20 21:59

It was so psychodelic! I still watch the cube on my mind!

Have you thought of putting the unzipped files on Dropbox? A lot of games (like mine) do that, and it seems to work OK, unless you need any server-side processing. (I'm presuming not because it's all JS and resources)
Interesting idea - though I don't think I quite understood why I shot faster sometimes than others. Maybe that's the ability-granting you mentioned, but going back to the same face did something different. I also ended up with a white player box on a white background in one case, which made it a bit hard to see :)

schnerble 2014-12-21 00:24

(Clarifying the above... I meant that you should be able to play your game using the Dropbox link if the files are unzipped - unless there's something else going on)

A pretty interesting concept, I liked the movement across the cube, however it got repetitive quite quickly with the small number of enemies and no real use of the mechanic other than a cool transition between levels. The sound effects were alright, there wasn't any music though.

danidre14 2014-12-21 01:34

Cooool, :v

superdisk 2014-12-21 04:03

This was a good concept, however the various sides of the cube didn't really seem to affect my abilities besides occasionally making me shoot really fast.

It's a good game, though!

trisquare 2014-12-21 05:19

Nice I like it every time I close my eyes I see a cube fml, good job

jachepe 2014-12-23 14:20

interesting idea but a bit confusing! good work!

kk 2014-12-23 14:34

homebrewed engine always rocks and fun :)

daviosmash 2014-12-23 15:18

IT was interesting - I would have liked some indicator on the character or something around it to easily know where I am facing, but it was a fun design, good use of the cube to rotate and change but still stay within the theme.

martial_cantarel_games 2014-12-25 20:54

cool game, its 5
and there are something similar to mine))

panda 2014-12-29 04:36

Original idea, worked well. It could use a bit more originality in the enemies, or a clear goal beyond just score. One level had me driving a white ship against a white background, that part felt unnecessarily hard!
