Pretty ingenious idea in my opinion. Fun game.
I'm not really sure why you submitted this.
It's a really buggy tower defense. The text was unreadable and the game crashes when an enemy passes my turret.
Makes a loud noise, the screen goes brown then is unresponsive. I'm using Windows 8
Neat game. I won in about 3 tries though.
It was actually pretty nice, but I couldn't seem to get past the third level. There seemed to be a huge difficulty spike there. The main frustration comes from the bomb's timer; if the bomb just detonated when it hit a robot, it would be far more easy to play and more fun. I can't evaluate further because of the difficulty spike in room three.
@surpy I think you might have misinterpreted the game. It is poking fun at the people who scream at Obama for whatever he does, right or wrong. The MC level was definitely one of the buggier stages, but I can't fix it now
:(
Thanks for the feedback.
Yeah, I'm not really sure how I would put ingame help in without jacking up the flow of the game. There is a Readme that is called PLZReadme so I figured people would read it.
@Spelchan The game wasn't really meant as a golden game to show to friends, rather a "glorious trainwrecks" esque thing that was hacked out in MMF2 in one night.
@Joseph Most people don't notice that you can just dig a straight 2 block wide hole straight up and due to the collision issues you'll just bug right up it. Thanks for the feedback.
@zenmumbler Blame MMF2 for the collision detection. We started out with its crappy platform engine, then tried to switch later but it really broke it, so we changed back to the crappy one and stuck with it.
Ridiculously hard. It seems that you kinda ignored the theme then slapped in some "I'm a villain" at the last minute. You could have easily renamed this "Block Parkour" and no one would have noticed a clash.
The gameplay was rather fun, however unoriginal. Seemed like an extended version of Spuck.
This is one of the better games. I dunno what "Vixen" or the fox means though but whatever, still a very cool game.
Didn't make much sense at all? I am the enemy? Eh?
Actually, I get it now. It didn't make sense at first, but for some reason I came back, and I get it :P
I, too, brute forced the Modulo thing.
The SQL attack didn't work for me. I tried multiple times your walkthrough for that problem, but still no dice, with the response:
Unknown character "'"
I think this is the ' located in your original SQL query, so I couldn't change it :(
The mood was pretty ok but it was treacherous to get commands to register.
Works on an iPad and was still fun :)
Still though, you can just tap the top left then he bottom right and just own. Neat though.
While the idea was ingenious, I got some megalag when connecting to localhost with 4 telnets. I must examine the source and see how it was done however!
Examined the source today and am now wondering why you don't kill yourself after working with AutoIT..? It seems so ridiculously verbose and messy! I commend you.
The controls were fluid enough but it's ridiculously hard. You walk out of that dungeon and immediately get slaughtered by blueball throwing guys.
Controls were awful. But it was a neat concept. Dunno how I felt about defecating on plants though :P
Kicking animals off of your bridge sounded fun, but it's rather finicky and hard to tell when you're kicking an animal or not.
Thought I already rated this, but I guess not. It's broken now but when I played it last I remembered it was really easy and all you had to do was basically hold down one button to win.
I liked the monochrome palette and the art. At first though I thought the cat was the guy's hair and we were viewing him from a topdown perspective.
Was a great mood game, but after a long while of text and reading, I did get a bit bored. I didn't really know what to do once I got control so I grabbed the phone, called Anderson and reported Richard as the killer. An exception occured, then Anderson said that Richard WAS the killer and the game ended...???
Quite a weird game. Neat idea, but I can't really get it to go anywhere.
Kinda cool but nothing was really explained. Who was the character I was controlling? Why did Mr. Plumber fall down? Why was he surprised in the first place? Why am I going to a castle? Still, art was nice and the music was neat. Fun while it lasted.
Neat game. However, the controls were kinda erratic and while mashing space to get the soul, the cutscene would show up and I'd accidentally skip it. Still cool though.
I liked the villain graphic but the sound was quite grating. I agree that the main game aspect is kind of a bug. Perhaps you should polish it up a bit.
This was quite depressing! You really hit the mood nail on the head. The theme was well played as well.
Works on Mac too. The idea was cool, but there were some bugs. If you are touching around and you make a Blok it will fall through the ground, wasting your RP. Also, upon the second damage that Bytt receives, he just pauses for about 3 seconds, then the game proclaims he wins. Still, the idea was great.
Quite a weird game. The graphics were ok but the music was kinda yick. I guess it's sort of fun but there's not much more to do than just run around and grab little vectors. :\
Feels very nice with the platforming and such. The concept was rather funny as well, and the flowers going 'Woo!' whenever they sprout was nice. Very solid.
Also, my high score is 19192.
It's just a convoluted maze that requires no strategy because you don't know where you are wandering. Could use more polish.
Generic gameplay, but nice polish.
Your download doesn't seem to be working for me.
Quite a funny concept. The 'bwaaa bwaa' coming from the pastor thing was very humorous, plus PSY capturing brides from a tree while the groom doesn't even notice is hilarious.
This is probably one of my favorites. The graphics and the gameplay were quite funny. When do all the police show up though? Once that happens you're guaranteed to lose.
While definitely unfinished like you said, the idea was pretty neat. There was some bugginess though, like dead slimes 'attacking' but it was fun
The screen is too stretched out to see what's going on, and the title screen is half cut off.. it seems like a bug.
The controls were kinda doodley, but overall a quite polished game.
The art was quite nice, and the concept and implementation are great. Very nice and polished entry.
Was actually kind of cool to see the transition from peace to ultimate destruction.
The concept is actually pretty good. I played it twice. I also liked the funny sound effects of 'sh sh sh' and 'choo choo'. The chocolate coins were pretty humorous as well.
The gameplay was rather bland, as it's just clicking random crap with a cursor with an awkwardly place hotspot. I couldn't get past the balloon one.
Quite weird. Seemed like all art was ripped and slapped together within an hour... Quite buggy as well, if you walk into trees you get hurt, and if you just stand still in a crowd of ghosts you're fine.
While funny, it's not really a game.
I somehow doubt this was completely made in 48 hours, but if it was, you are some sort of legend.
Quite cool, the art was nice and the gameplay was great. I didn't really know what the goat is relevant to the plotline, but whatever. The ending was great.
The idea was cool, but the graphics were rather horrid and you could just spam the right ladder to the top and win forever. Still neat before you discover that trick.
This is a great puzzle concept that would fit right in with Portal or something. Nice job.
Might be some sort of bug. I'd defeat the protagonist once, the game-over screen would show up, count down about 4 seconds, then the game would restart. After I defeated the protagonist again, same thing would happen except it would only count down 1 second before it replayed. It did this infinitely. Shame because the games were quite neat. Idea wasn't very original though.
Quite a funny little game. The instructions font was the most ridiculous thing ever and I couldn't read it, so I just kind of skipped past and winged it. Still pretty cool, kinda makes you feel bad to make smilies feel bad :O
Music helped the mood.
Quite good, except kittenman was some sort of hulking beast that was indestructible. I blocked his attacks but he killed me every time. :O
Maybe you should try to soften him up.
Erm. I'm not really sure why it gets all the raving reviews it did. Most people comment stuff like "You made a game congrats" signaling that they're voting on it for you rather than the game itself.. anyways
The game was.. not themefitting at all, and actually quite weirdly put together. It uses MMF2's built in 8direction movement, you get stuck on walls, the theme doesn't make sense, the graphics were subpar, and the stars look stretched out by MMF2's resizing tool. Sorry :\
Once I beat the first level, I could bear to play on because it was really just clumsily floating through a maze.
Kinda neat, but your d00dz get in the way a lot and would have just been better if they were gone. Also, some of the towers start firing like crazy and there's no way to shoot them.
One of the better games. The writing was great, and the concept of a town obsessed with crime was really funny. RPGMaker was a nice choice as well.
I'm not really sure what I was supposed to be doing here. There are some options at the bottom that don't seem to respond, and eventually when resorting to mashing random keys it just took me back to the title screen. Might want to write a readme.
O_O It got crazy after a bit. Just imagining some kid sitting at a picnic and burning hoards of enormous ants shoving his sandwich down a hole makes me laugh inside. Didn't really conform to the theme though.
Played it on Newgrounds and came here to rate it officially.
Cool idea but that darn lady catches you all the time.
No idea what I was doing. Controls say that I use space to use items, but it seems like Z and X to me.
It's very nice eye-candy but not much in the way of gameplay. You kind of randomly swing your arm while pitifully slow bullets come out.
The plane things just came too fast to destroy. Also, once you've been hit once, you get knocked back and can't shoot in a proper direction, so once you've been hit you're pretty much dead. Could use some work, but the graphics are definitely nice.
The music clash was hilarious.
Controls were quite nutty.
Fun puzzle game. We beat it completely.
BLAAGH! Just found a huge bug in the game, patch added. You can beat the game now.
@jubjub. Thanks a bunch for the comment!!
@atraxgames ASCII was so it'd be minimalist. I love the look of em' too!
Kyyninen Use K to skip the sequence. Thanks for playing! sorry the game over and restarting bit is kinda cheesy.
@muton It's a bug, I think. Everyone seems to suffer from it... It might be that health==0 and since the healths increase by 1, your health might have gone up from -1 to 0, killing you.
@Tyro The lag goes away once the little black particles fall offscreen. We couldn't really find a way around it, sorry :\
But thanks for the feedback!
@MagiMaster Push K to skip the intro.
BAUGH! I had that bug fixed, then forgot to save.
Whenever I updated just an hour ago the bug was reintroduced with the build. Sorry about that! I'm updating again, thanks for the report, your notes made me happy.
@Deathray The diamonds and gold are just for score, and are totally optional.
Good one. Ending sucked, though.
This one's really cool. I was ready for more, but it ended on me :(
Nice work, though the guitar was kinda repetitive.
Can't beat the puzzles, but I get the idea. Cool!
Neat little game.
The polish was great, but we kind of failed on a puzzle.
I liked the Cancel Christmas game, so I decided to try out this. I was not disappoint.
Not really an RPG. You could have spent more time on it (if I recall, you actually finished on the first day)
Doesn't seem to be a way to lose, but still a cool concept.
Great idea! I play an instrument so this kind of makes sense. (up/downbeats)
Cool game! I really like this one a lot.
Weird/fun game. The sounds kinda hurt.
Graphics were nice.
Hilarious.
It was incredibly hardville, and we couldn't beat the first level. Concept was good, and the controls were good if the gravity wasn't so powerful.
Weird. I tried following my finger on the river and the display slowly collapsed then dumped me back on the title.
Game was good. Couldn't muster up the strength to beat it, however. Why does the technician have some sort of painting corrector? Why do the paintings need corrected, weren't they perfect from the artist's point of view from the very start? It's all very deep.
This game's a nice one. Graphics are great, Sounds are ok. The only problem is that you can just rapidly click while moving your mouse up and down and left and right (like a sine wave or something) and it would just spit out an impenetrable wall of colour and you'll pretty much just go on forever.
0_0 This seems like something from glorioustrainwrecks.
It's rather funny.
Weird. Level 3 seems impossible..?
It seemed really easy to me for some reason.
Agh, why am I so slow *FOOT*
Not a game, but funny.
I like it quite a bit. The "crap-ify the world" theme was interesting.
Menaces are funny!
It got tricky trying to match up the color with its counterpart. Also, the fading thing doesn't really work that well. Cool game anyways.
It's ok.
Kind of like the "runner" games (canabalt, etc) except in a different format.
Wasn't much of a game, but more of an editor. Weird.
Not quite sure what I was doing.
Cool game! Sad that there's only 4 games.
Actually, I had this EXACT same idea, it's scribbled on some graph paper. It involved going from PONG up to modern day games, but we decided on an ASCII thing instead.
Really fun game! The concept was very well implemented and it's quite addictive.
It's too bad the level doesn't seem to be randomly generated, so it's the same thing every time, but it's still quite fun.
It's really hard, in my opinion.
Bwagh! I thought I'd finally figured it out, then it spontaneously killed me. Fun.
What a glorious game. It kind of reminded me of Slayin' (http://www.pixellicker.com/games/games_slayin.html) and even somewhat of my warmup game.
Great polish and great mechanics! 5's all around.
Great idea, bad implementation.
The collision detection is awful and the scrolling needs work, but I liked the idea.
I also kind of figured JEB's speech would get more slurred as the parts came off, but I suppose not.
It got pretty hard, but this is one of the better entries.
Graphics were good, but you can just get stuck in an endless thing with no potatoes and no way to get any more.
Really funny. Mostly consisted of just randomly smashing mousebutton though.
I won! Ending sucked though.
Still, great recreation of Windows 3.1 and the initial surprise of closing Dragondrop.
Hey, I won! Cool game, though it seemed to take forever to destroy the color blocks. Is it even possible?
That was rather hilarious.
Nice game!
I learned that you can just spam the clicker to make a shower of bullets in front of your fort and just go forever.
I had almost no idea what I was doing.. :L Graphics were really cool and sound was nice as well, though!
The controls and camera were kinda fiddly, but it was a good game and a good concept.
Neat game, but rather confusing on the first go.
Simple game, would have done nicely with some music. Neat visual style.
Wurrr....
Neat game, however the controls and sound were atrocious. The concept was cool, I just couldn't really get into it, sorry :(
Also, I've seen you on Tigsource! Did you make this with the Frank engine?
What a glorious game. The music really made it. Too bad I couldn't beat the first level, it was so big and time was so short. 5star overall.
Can't play it, but the picture looks absolutely hilarious.
Funny idea, but the sound effects were loud and evil.
Creative use of Swing buttons. There's not a time limit, so it was quite easy, but still. Nice!
It's quite weird and stuff. Fun for a bit, but once you've seen the powerups that's all there is to it.
Nice game nevertheless!
Really funny game, but the art was rather bad.
Also, restarting at the bar every time was not very fun.
Cool little game. Got 193.
Weird, but also not a game.
It was nice to slap your face into the ground though.
Controls made me want to kill innocent children and boil their eyeballs.
Excellent game though.
Scary. We wussed out before we even got into the game at all, so we left some generous ratings. Sorry.
Yup, windows binary is quite fickle. Its framerate is ridiculous on my computer.
Music was ok, but as the others said, gameplay was a bit repetitive.
It was a neat idea, not so neat execution.
It mostly involved running around randomly and throwing down mats until you beat the level.
Also, the beginning instruction texts only stayed for about 0.5 seconds, so I couldn't read them, I had to look at your screenshot on what to do.
Controls were quite wacky, but fun game. Stumbling over the enemy legs was a bit annoying, however.
I like it, however the controls were quite fickle, and it was really annoying when I had to backtrack when I could turn around.
Neat story, but not a game. Nonetheless, pretty deep.
This game is deep, yo. Not really, but it's quite fun to play.
Fun little game! It seems like you can get into one position though and pretty much just make minor movements to go on forever.
Incredibly hardtown (we do not play shooters) but the music and the polish was actually incredibly nice.
We're playing this on a projector in a dark room, and it's pretty freaky. We expected some sort of demented screamer when we touched the amassing cloud of stuff so we quit.
Incredibly weird game.
Footsteppings reminded me of chibi-robo, but the game can be summed up in basically this:
-Catch fish
-Deep quote
-Goofy question
-Go back to step 1
I guess it was deep, or something.
Ho ho, I guess it's something. Neat for a few seconds.
I can never get very far before running out of fuel. Cool game, and neat musics and story.
Not really a game, but the graphics were nice.
Wow, great game. Final boss was quite hard.
Very polished and such. I got stuck in a room. My only complaint?
You seem to be suffering from a case of "music clashes with the game a lot" syndrome.
This is a nice game. I like it
This one's a lot better than your last entry! Nice work.
Cool idea! Sometimes you'd reach an unpassable jump though :(
The version I downloaded is nothing like the screenshots...
It's some sort of 3d world I can pan around in, and the controls you specified don't work. All there is is just 2 3d planes that I can't control.
No idea what was going on. What was the actual game? What is life?
Really though, I couldn't figure out how to play the level with the spheres and the X's, so I randomly mashed keys until the cursor was on the right one.
Also: Is this actually a console? If so, nice work!
NYERGH
And I thought it'd be easy...
I got held up on the one with the three stick and the small triangle.
I'll agree about the "too hard" part, but it was a cool game.
I, too, remember you from the last LD, so I came to rate your game.
Great! Concept is quite original. Sometimes it seems like you'd get stuck behind a couple of cacti and the gear wouldn't let you dodge them, but other than that it was quite nice.
Wrugh. I had a hard time knowing what I was doing, the instructions were rather cryptic! Also, I had a hard time picking up those light thingies, but it was a neat concept anyways.
What a weird game! I like it, however there's not much to do but spam the left side of the screen. Like texel, I couldn't figure out what towers do. Cool anyways
The starting timer was kind of long. The jump physics were a bit weird as well, but still enjoyable.
Gahaha. I love how it's a subtle jab at LD by actually including real themes (Potatoes and Kittens, Entire Games on One Screen) as well as the satirical ones.
Not a game, but it's really funny.
Haha, this was actually pretty funny, which I wasn't expecting it to be. The meth pants made me chuckle.
The dying is annoying, but otherwise pretty good!
Definitely one of the better games of the Jam. I love a good puzzle. Unfortunately as soon as I started to get into it, it ended :(
Good stuff!
I think I fixed the "page not responding" bug. It was from some laggy javascript code. Doh!
@sorlok I saw your addition! That was the first field test of the upload mechanic. Good to know it works.
@Roan Contreras
That game was a huge inspiration in the creation of this. Funny that you remember it too :)
Hunter X: Yes, firefox is the only browser that doesn't support this, since the game transmits images as giant PNG "filmstrips" that have a hight that commonly is in the hundreds of thousands of pixels. It does this because uploading individually takes 20 times longer to do, reinitiating an FTP transfer every time. Incidentally, much of the lag upon starting the viewer doesn't come from download time, but splitting the strips into individual frames. Alas, what can you do?
Thank you muchly for the detailed information!
Sorry. It's broken in Firefox, because it can't handle huge PNGs. My error detection code for this was to just say "Firefox not supported" when it failed to load all of the images, but apparently someone uploaded a few machines that were small enough to be loaded by Firefox, thereby thwarting my errorchecking and messing it up even further.
Madball: Try it in chrome instead of firefox if you're having that issue.
Klianc09: Yeah it's laggy and horrible, but I tried.
I won! The graphics were great, though I'll admit the gameplay was somewhat uninspired.
It's no biggie though, it did ramp up in challenge which is a great thing if you're a level designer, as it means you've done the right thing.
Good art. I'm not quite sure what the story was? Girl goes to the graveyard to lament her girlfriend, then... a snowgirl starts beating up monsters? I'm sure it would've made more sense if you had more time.
The gameplay was smooth, and the special attacks worked well! Neat stuff.
I, for one, really liked the art even in its current state.
What it really has an uncanny resemblance to is Jonny Smeby's stuff.

"This was made by a disturbed kid"
Awesome game as always Mohammad. We played this as the music and it fit perfeclty. : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AgLzJm83bZ8
Since you don't allow ratings, here is my manual rating:
5/5 overall
5/5 fun
5/5 theme
5/5 mood
5/5 audio
5/5 graphics
Reminds me of the slug game from a couple years ago. (Hermit, or something?)
Good idea, though at the moment it's nigh impossible to beat.
The graphics were good, but the gameplay was rather nebulous. It was pretty neat, though one real annoyance was that you couldn't switch walking path mid-movement. Otherwise, cool.
We plugged in two controllers, and it worked just fine the first time around. When we booted the game again it didn't.
Anyway, the game's graphics and gameplay was actually really cool; The music, however, was most bogus.
Good game!
I feel like there's more to this that I somehow can't get to, since I never had to enter the password (Even though on the screenshot there is a password entry box) and never got to see the room in the 3rd screenshot.
The game just faded to white after I opened Internet Adventurer, which I can only assume is a bug.
It's a neat concept, but I just ended up standing at my gate and mashing the X key.
This was a great idea. Unfortunately, I couldn't get any money. :(
Maybe it was just because I was playing on a laptop with a touchpad though. The music was nice, but I was mentally starting to get frustrated with the paintbucket and my lack of mixing skills by Customer 3.
Great game. You might have a winner on your hands.
I like it, man! The music is a strong point. It has a certain beepy charm. The graphics were also nice, reminiscent of a newspaper cutout or something, which fit well with the tunes.
My complaints are that the enemies are a bit finnicky and you can get killed very easily by them. The bomb's sound effect is a tad grating, but otherwise a pretty solid bomberman game.
I liked the signs calling you back. It reminded me of a game I made about an unreliable narrator. Weird game. Would've been much more enjoyable with good music.
Cool for 9 hours. Unfortunately the postprocessing messes up my mouse positioning, and it wouldn't register that I was shooting (apparently it only works in the web version, which is laggier than the download one?
This was a good idea. Great art. Sadly, the Action 52-calibre controls made it nigh unplayable.
Graphics were good. Gameplay was good. Unfortunately, controls and audio were not good. We played until the end and slayed the kraken!
Good game. We followed your updates throughout the competition and looked forward to playing the game; Not bad!
I lost, but it was a good game anyhow.
Yeah, it does have potential. I thought it was hilarious that those mobsters must have brought a freakin' parade to this guy's office, and the only logical thing for him to do is just mow them down (with a pistol, no less.)
Humor 5/5, if not unintentionally. :)
Good for 8 hours. Reminded me of TagPro!
Nice concept, but it did get borign after a bit. Neat game!
Neat game. Unfortunately, bad collision detection can be the death knell for a platforming game, and it seems to be the case here. Otherwise pretty neato.
Don't mind the newgrounds guys tearing you apart; they do it to everyone.
Nice music! It's pretty simple, but it does what it does right.
I liked the graphics, but unfortunately it was too hard to really get a good run through. Neat anyhow. Nice work on developing a game engine!
Great concept, and good art/mood. I couldn't beat it, but oh well.
It'd be nice if you could just provide a .LOVE file to run, instead of either source or a Windows binary.
Anyhow, it's a funny game. The ending is pretty realistic as a parallel to real love, no? Plus the excellent coincidence of being made in LOVE.
GWAAAA-HAAA-HAA!
I keep dying for seemingly no reason. Other than that, it's actually nice. Meteors seem to come in pretty often.
The graphics were definitely this game's strong suit. The different enemies and their actions were definitely cool; If this were an NES game boss rush it would be great. Unfortunately, bad physics combined with having to pump each enemy full of crazy amounts of lead makes it nigh impossible to defeat the game.
I liked it, though!
I liked the idea too, though I think the voice acting threw it off a bit. Overall a neato experience.
I hate to sound so harsh, but your female voice actor sounded more like a young hairdresser than a man's mother. The guy's voice was on point mostly, though.
The audio is one of the game's strongsuits; How it changes to fit the item you're inspecting creates a cool effect. Tell your composer well done!
Nice little game. I'm not going to lie, the phaser sound was grating. Otherwise, cool.
It is what it is, eh? Neat for a first game. I didn't grasp trigonometric stuff until much later after I created my first game (and still don't fully).
Neato!
Sheep walking around with a big bite out of them are funny. Unfortunately, I don't think this game is lose-able? I intentionally gunned down all of my sheep at one point and they just came back.
Broken on chrome, but works in IE. The score collision doesn't seem to work very well, but it's a good idea otherwise.
While the game did boot for me, it didn't render anything. I'm on a Mac and the screen just stays gray and unpainted (though the console did emit a lot of messages indicating that the resources were loaded)
Don't know what to say, since apparently other Mac users have gotten it going.
Can't say I cared for the music.
The game itself sort of reminded me of a game my friend and I created, except not really the same. Y'know, while I was playing this game my microwave went off and I stopped for a bit to grab the Chef Boyardee (c) Beefaroni (tm) inside of it. Unfortunately, the magnetron in my microwave had broken and the brew was completely ice cold. I keep the cans in my fridge, you see; While preserving freshness, it also renders the unheated cans completely inedible. In despair about the lack of food in the house, I came back to the game in a dour mood to see that my friend had already beaten me in a few rounds, putting me at a disadvantage. Anyway, I digress. The game was pretty neato.
I played it until it looped, and it's pretty neat. The changing level is the game's main interesting thing; The enemies are just annoying. They get in the way and you can't kill them without having your health slaughtered, as they each take at least 1 billion swings to kill.
You could've made some sort of game where the level tries to shake you off somehow, but this is fine too.
Dude, this game rocks. I don't know why you just showed a picture of the settings as the main screenshot, since the game itself has a very cool aesthetic.
What really made the game was the sort of broken-english phone calls and the equally broken level names. Reminded me of VVVVVV. I don't know if that was on purpose or if you're just french, but it was neat anyhow.
fun
Good game. Music was crazy annoying though, but hey. Music is hard to do/get in 48 hours!
The collision detection is a bit silly but for the most part alright. I died more times from hitting walls than the enemies, though.
This was a pretty cool idea. Unfortunately, we ran into a variety of bugs:
-When playing in Chrome, when you walk into boxes from the left side, you get stuck. Forever.
-When playing in the downloaded version, Player 1's controls work, but Player 2's just.. don't. He is immobile.
-The punch sound effect is on a weird delay.
-Joysticks are very flaky, at best.
This really was a great concept, killed by bugs. I hope you get it polished up, because then it'd be heaps of fun!
Graphics were good. I always liked the sharp polygons look. Sound was annoying though.
I got 12 done. I like the concept, but I've seen it before (Though in a collaborative way in Cursor*10).
Overall pretty cool. I do wonder where the story was going. I might come back later to find out!
Huh, I thought I had rated this already. Anyway:
The game's atmosphere is pretty great, and the sound effects fit quite well. Unfortunately, the game little sense and I didn't quite understand it. Good job on the other stuff, though!
Really good game. Me and my friend played several rounds. First game of the night with good music. Nice innovative idea! Bouncy walls are a must. I wish the spawning blocks would have a cheapness detector so they don't just appear right in front of you, though! Good game nevertheless.
I liked the graphics and music, though the gameplay was somewhat uninspired. Very reminiscent of tapper. I'm not sure why you have to silence the soldiers complaining, though it was funny, I'm not really sure why.
The piano music was perhaps the best part.
Hey, I got to level 10! It's actually a pretty neat game. The controls were terribad, I'll admit, but it was still a good one in the end.
Love the crazy marquee.
Definitely just a clone of Achievement Unlocked, right down to the level design, but it's still neat and a cool java game.
Nice game. Unfortunately, the menus don't open sometimes, even after I push the icons multiple times. Song's good, as well.
I didn't know what was going on at first, but I understand now. Cool game! It would be cool if you could select your own .mid file to play on (kinda like that one game? beatrider or something)
Hey pepi! I got around to playing this. It's definitely a novel concept, and somewhat disorienting to move the player and window while the player moves himself. Nice job, I've got to say! I think you could create a level editor with ease and expand the gameplay just by community effort.
Neato.
Neato! I didn't really get it at first but once I picked up an arm it all fell into place. Cool game.
I figured I'd stop by and play your game since you played mine :)
The game's pretty cool, though a bit small and fiddly. I think the music is the best part. My only serious objection is perhaps that there's no list of things you did wrong at the end so you can rectify it on the next play; I was sort of in the dark about how to progress. Otherwise, good stuff.
It really is a shame that you have to start over every time you die. There wasn't much of a theme connection, and the music is terribad. The graphics were very nice, though!
Great mechanic. Cool graphics! It reminded me of Cave Story.
My friend and I busted out the joysticks to play this, but only the XBox one worked. Could be on account of silly driver stuff, but oh well.
Anyhow, the game itself had good music and art, and was an overall nice concept. Unfortunately the controls were a bit slippery and the attacks cheap. The game crashed twice for some reason (Just stopped responding).
Nevertheless, it's still a fun game.
Unfortunately when you get to a two-spike or three-spike swath, you're screwed. Otherwise, a good concept.
Don't beat yourself up man. It's a good game, just a tad laggy. Having trouble is expected for your first LudumDare.
This is a really cool game! I like how the babies follow your movement exactly.
Tired my hand out.
Unfortunately I got stuck since after I restarted a level, a water block became immobile.
I love the face of the slime block! The music was also nice.
It's flappy bird, what can I say. It was a pretty faithful clone. I liked the screen transition thing!
Once I got the hang of it, it was pretty neato. I found that a handy solution is just to create an array of ropes at the top. Just like real life, it seems that the kids are useless, but hey. Good game!
Hahah, great! I love the dour mood of it all.
Cool game. Dang those sandstorms! They seemingly just pounded my farms until they produced nothing. I think the highest I got was day 500. Oh well. Otherwise, the game was nice.
A couple of points:
-I'm not sure what the scrolling did on the planet, except for allowing to scroll out and see the broken landscape
-The tutorial is only somewhat confusing
It's pretty cool to see the different outcomes based on the combinations of tubes! The soviet tubes are kinda funny.
The graphics and idea were good, but it seemed to just boil down to mashing your thumb against the phone while Samuel blathers on about things that sure aren't sex.
Also, when the "r to reply" text shows up, hitting both Q and R just restart the game.
Actually a really good idea. Reminds me of the old trick with Sonic 2 and 3, where you could go to the debug screen in Sonic 2, then take it out with the power still on, plug in Sonic 3 and you'd have access to the debug screen.
Another thing: the games themselves reminded me of was those weird pirate creations that come on the powerjoy and other NES clones. They share similar music and, no joke, the EXACT same sound effects. It's pretty uncanny!
The music was grating and just bad though. Sorry. Otherwise, cool.
Hey, this was pretty neat. The incompetech sound sort of spoiled the mood but otherwise it was really cool. I liked that there's a "secret admirer" and that the text files sort of lied to you. It reminds me of a game I made once (but was much less polished than this!)
Cool stuff.
Pretty cool, simplistic as it is. You can sort of cheat the system by just being near the top and shooting the hat straight on.
Yeah, this is really hard, simply because of the controls. Otherwise it's a quite good concept; I can only think that it'd be better if you ditched the "platform creating" aspect and just had premade levels with puzzles being colorshifting. I digress, though.
The name is awesome.
This could've been pretty cool had the movement / collision been a tad better. I liked it anyway. Hope you had a fun first LD.
I liked the aesthetic, however it's easy to die as the character has only one hit-point. I only got to the second stage after a couple of plays, though it seems that you can simply hide in an alcove and win.
I liked it though. Allegro is cool.
The title is funny and the game works well; My only complaint is that the game would be a lot better had the player not been a one hitpoint wonder. Just popping back to the beginning, while minimizing restart time, is jarring and somewhat annoying, especially when you didn't even know what you hit.
Apart from the controls and retina-searing background, it was cool. You should have had ghost players that you can see going around doing your previous run every time you start a new round.
You can definitely tell where you were going with this, what with the seemingly nonfunctional items on the map. It's a good game for what it is! I wish the bombs had sped up though.
My friend and I played with controllers. The concept is good, but the music is misfitting and the controls are difficult.
I expected it to be a fighting game. Sort of surprising when it was just about getting mushrooms dead. Also, the time limit was a bit small; I'd suggest perhaps adding powerups to spice up the game and then increasing the time limit. A pumping beat would dramatically help.
That said, it's not a bad game, and the graphics were great.
The mysterious game with 3 names. Is it Faryad, Blocky Deathmatch, or "Educational Beezwackz?"
Despite the intro weirdness, it was actually a neat game. I played it with my friend. Unfortunately there was no score, so we couldn't see who won.
The ending was #deep, yo. 5/5 great mood
Kinda funny, it reminds me of a game I once made.
Only the Xbox controller worked, not the generic one. :(
It's really hard to figure out what's going on in this game.. I couldn't really figure out how to do any of the button things (pushing 1, 2 and 3 didn't do anything, and clicking on the buttons and bars didn't do anything either).
A veritable classic, right here. I played for at least 3 hours. Put it on Steam and rake in the dough, I say.
This was a good concept, however the various sides of the cube didn't really seem to affect my abilities besides occasionally making me shoot really fast.
It's a good game, though!
Hi Hempuli. The art really is fantastic, as well as the atmosphere. I'm afraid it's really a visual novel of sorts though, but the excellent art, sound, and overall experience makes it forgivable.
Real mindboggler. I, for one, liked the main character's swift movements and I thought it was fun to fly around in the open area for a bit.
Rad game! Probably the most enjoyable game of the compo. Online networking with a raspberry pi is great. Unfortunately it broke and I got disconnected. No matter, it's great fun.
Sarcasm is funny. Neat work!
Pretty good, but hard to play with a touchpad. That's my fault though.
It's pong, what can I say. The recreation was cool, and I like how it's called ping. Could be cool if you had all of the old classics.
Great visuals and sound but I'm always trash at these rhythm games. Nice work!
Yeah, the client was pointed at the wrong IP address. It should all be in working order (along with a better description) by tomorrow. Sorry!
Believe it or not my server's power plug was one that was toggled by the light switch. When I left the room I turned the light off and the server died instantly. Should be back and running now. Sorry for all the problems folks!
I'm not sure why it's not working now; My server seems to be up and it's running fine on at least 2 computers at my house. I'll check in on it. Thanks for the comments!
Alright, I migrated my client to dropbox and updated youtube-dl so this SHOULD be 100% true and honest functional. Knowing my code though it probably isn't. Good luck!
Thank you guys all for the comments but with all the technical problems and votes streaming in from people who didn't even play, I just decided to throw in the towel on this Ludum. Someday I might expand this game into a proper program or game.
Really cool art and atmosphere but I couldn't really get the hang of it; those rabbits kept destroying my plants and I couldn't fend them off faster than they were multiplying. I really did think it was cool though and I remember blipseq from you which was equally neat.
Really cool graphics! There's a bit of a problem with sliding vs dropping down a layer but still cool.
Pretty sweet game, although very difficult in later levels. I enjoyed the Mario Paint plane sprite!
Cool idea but unfortunately I can't really play it due to keyboard chording.. When I hit the jump combination my keys are cancelled out and there's no momentum. Reminds me of Enough Plumbers!
Cool game. The wonky controls were, I think, part of the challenge- the music fit as well.
Actually really cool. Unfortunately I couldn't figure out how to get the lasers or stuff in your screenshots, or how to ride a bee, but it's a really charming game.
Also I recognize you from tigsource!
A cool game for cool people.
Wow, grade F! I suck. Reminded me a bit of Super Hexagon. Pretty cool game, but could have been better if it were a little more analog... e.g holding left and right would rotate the shape by a few degrees.
Cool nonetheless.
Pretty cool idea. The game did crash before I installed OpenAL. Shame there's no gameplay, this was pretty creative.
Neat game. I liked the voiceover guy, he reminds me of a friend of mine who does equally dramatic voiceovers.
I did eventually get the hang of the game, but I found the best strategy was to just grab and then body slam everything in sight; I'm not sure how you're determining who is "too damn crunchy" but it seems like I only went for a little bit before humans became inedible.
Game of the year 2011
It's a cool idea but I'm not sure how to steer the plant so getting water was difficult. Neat game, reminds me of Sunshine by Kyle Gabler.
The humor is top notch. "What a guy" hahaha.
Really neat game. The bouncing geometry gave it a fluid feeling unlike a lot of other runners where stuff just disappears.
Although I didn't really notice a marked increase in difficulty I was up to a good 100,000 points and full shield and powerups all over, so I could probably play forever.
Really cool game. It's a neat roguelike but I only wish there were better controls.
Definitely has that c64 vibe, with the bouncing stuff and level names displayed. The first screenshot looks a lot like a level in that old game maker game What's In The Box.

Neat game. It's surprisingly easy to actually keep yourself in balance. I enjoy how the sex meter is a male and female sign yet it is replenished solely by whacking off.
Yeah, it's just asteroids with some controls, but I love it.
Also, if you just don't fire your weapon they don't fire theirs. Makes it pretty easy to avoid 'em.
Charming little game. Friday was the only level that gave me a bit of trouble, but I cracked it eventually.
I will say the music is a little misfitting, but it's a nice composition anyway so it's still good.
Hell yeah, online functionality! Dig it. I tried to make a level but unfortunately I am a mere trackpad user, and it was incredibly sensitive so I couldn't really select what i wanted to use. Good choice of music, BTW.
Lol, very interesting game. I enjoy nontraditional entries. My order was white, black, pink, blue.
We flipped a lot and fell through the map at the end, but it was sort of enjoyable as a 3 player team. Needs AI.
