It appears flickery for some reason, it hurt my eyes and crashed my pc :(
Very good game, but aside from being red has nothing to do with being evil.
I really like the player's sprite, with a little animation it would've looked awesome. Also the shooting effect is great.
The theme is a bit too obvious though. My first idea for the jam was to make something similar except with people, the ending would've revealed that they were harmless bystanders rather than enemy soldiers as they were billed.
Very polished, fun and on theme. Applause.
If you want to actually survive/win you'd have to miss the best part of the game: reading the misbehavings.
It looks so great it makes me a bit biased :P, but great pawn spawning mechanic.
I couldn't understand how to play even after reading your comments.
Seems like I am the hero rather than the villain.
Loved it. Innovative (and great) visuals and badass player character :P
Couldn't run, MSVCP100D.dll missing :(
Reinstalled everything and the game still doesn't work, I'm sorry :(
It's interesting to find two entries with this unique take on the theme. Although each played differently.
Love the title screen art. Also superb use of sound and music.
Fantastic audio, probably the first entry that utilizes audio as the main aesthetic feature.
It's fun to maneuver away from the bullets. The tree effect is pretty neat too.
Amazing sprites and animations, too bad the fast nature of the game made it hard to see them well to appreciate them enough. Interesting mechanic too.
Maybe you could've added something that makes him look even more of a villain, maybe a hanged citizen or a locked damsel behind him?
Account suspended, couldn't access the game :(
Great concept, I could totally see it expanded into a great full game. Also the core mechanics are inseparable from the theme.
Well done :)
Forgot to say the first time I played it the player got stuck on the idol in the final room after beating a skeleton.
The concept is pretty nice. Liked to see how everything changed.
Seems like I'm the good gu.. person.
Stylish and fun, but not very villainous.
Change the title into Save the Princess and it would've worked too :P
You should've joined the jam instead, at least to make it a bit more villainous.
Good game. A bit on the easy side though, could do with tougher levels.
It's kinda funny how a reverse platformer is a puzzler.
Although I wonder why is the hero advancing through harder levels :P? Maybe you should've started with the hardest level but made most traps already there except for that one safe path.
Great game both conceptually and technically.
Good job, especially on the UI. Also fits the theme like a glove.
I think playing from Google's perspective would've been more fun. Also I don't have an Android but I doubt real Google is that good :P
Greetings from a Riyadh, a city nicknamed Rio by some :)
Good concept and solid AI. Extra points for the fact that I couldn't beat the game even after 4 tries :(
The combat is a bit hard especially control-wise so I simply ran from everyone.
Didn't feel like kidnapping when the princess followed me, more like I was her lover that her father disapproves of :P
Sorry but I couldn't run this game even though I tried to more than once.
Very good presentation and lightheartedness. Now if we only we can see our coins and know how to gain them :P
Totally love the graphics. Those retro style detailed inserts are a great touch too. Polished game overall, aside from the slightly annoying engine sound.
Unfortunately it has nothing to do with the theme. The typical video game hero is more villainous :P
Also I couldn't close nor restart the game, had to create another instance every time I wanted to retry.
Very good. My only complaint would be the hero's sprite just because it's only good as opposed to spectacular like the rest of the game :)
At first I was gonna dismiss it because it had nothing to do with the theme, then it hit me hard. I liked it a lot, beautiful and fun.
Forgot to say nice touch having a gameplay scene on the start screen.
Very good application of the theme, good job.
Simple and to the point with good sprites.
@nolacoaster That's the only thing you can do. Being a villain isn't always about being a badass killing machine that takes half of the screen, you gotta start small ;)
Notice how you aren't even a threat to the hero?
@Pitoum I wanted that as well, too bad I couldn't do it with my limited skills in limited time :(
@Frozen Fractal What is a game :P?
@cranha I wanted that, but couldn't do it with my skills and allocated time.
@Spelchan I totally understand that but I wouldn't have been able to make a full game anyway.
Also it is only around 20 seconds long, not enough time to get bored :P
The sound effects are great, so is the strategic component of choosing where each ghost should go.
Choosing the ghosts with the mouse is hard but you already fixed that. The only thing left is a really hard opponent so that the game requires some thinking (or just power pellets).
Good game but has nothing to do with the theme :(
Beat level 7 in 12 moves and level 8 in 21 moves.
Crushing people and cities was fun, could expand on that.
Good concept, needs more enemy variety and a few cues from tower defense games.
Boss was too hard.
The beginning was funny, but aside from that not really villainous.
Reminded me of SkyRoads a lot. Great presentation and gameplay but it's a bit too hard.
Unfortunately it barely has anything to do with the theme.
Cute and interesting, well done.
Maybe you could add different kinds of humans, heavy that makes you go slower and raging/violent that will move you as he tries to escape. Soldiers with anti-air missiles or something against you could be good too.
I really like the graphics and the freaky one-eyed people. The movement was a bit frustrating because I couldn't keep a direction button pressed to move.
I wish there was an indication that you were eating them in game, as it is I might be doing anything. A simple *gulp* sound or even text would've helped.
A bit too difficult and not very villainous.
Doesn't feel villainous at all, especially since I hate ants :P
If you replaced the food by something meaningless to the player and made him kill them for fun it would've been way better.
Seems like a good game, but I have to imagine someone else playing with me :P
Is pushing the guards upwards a game mechanic? Nice if so.
Besides that you aren't really a villain.
Good, but would've been better if I could control two ghosts - or more - at the same time.
Great name/concept and adaptation. The music is a bit glitchy when you move though.
I like how the dog's head changes depending on vertical direction.
Great art. The sprites reminded me of LCD games or Game & Watch, if there's a post compo version I'd like to see them refined to look more like that.
While I liked the choice mechanics and the random ammo I wish I could do a melee attack while keeping my bullets, I couldn't get through the game more than once.
I didn't understand the falling presents mechanics, what to do and how they end the game. Aside from that it's pretty good.
Awesome concept. The sprites and the intro are great too.
Beautiful and very fun. Although I wish it had keyboard controls because it was too hard for me using the mouse.
Also the second button/theme seems more like an afterthought.
I am not sure what is making me lose.
Thanks for all the responses. I did plan to have at least one more obstacle type but I lost motivation when I played the game and decided to wrap it up as quickly as I can. As for the bats I need to have the gap patterns be predetermined.
I do plan to work on the game more. I will figure out whether I can make it level based or just have the obstacles randomized on each trip (or even a combination of both).
@tyr_arcana I did realize that it could have been a one-button game, and I tried to challenge myself to come up with obstacles that require the use of both directions (but couldn't at the time).
As for multiple destinations I can't see how that would benefit the game. I did however consider having multiple shafts you can transfer between with different destinations at the ends of each shaft (although that's beyond what I could've done during the jam).
Fun game. I didn't like how you restart after each death (I've seen less than 1/4th of the levels).
Also the music is too quiet compared to the sound effects.
Not sure what the vomit button is for. I love the bellies.
I like this a lot. The timers are smart too.
Everything about this seems fantastic, aside from the fact that I can't play it.
The tutorial was a bit too much for one go, I forgot what each thing did by the time it was over.
The controls are unintuitive which makes the game feel like it was made in spite of the theme rather than for the theme.
Amazing game with beautiful art. Extremely similar to a game idea we did not go with at GGJ this year (the theme was "What do we do now?").
I wish there were fewer endings that were more distinct or at least had a few drastic changes.
Apparently I need a dll to run it.
Didn't work for me either, I can only see the falling snow (and that I'm getting score/losing lives).
Great game. I was looking for other elevator games and this one was the best.
I like the mechanics and the art, I just wish there were some level design to go with it.
I would suggest using Twine for this kind of game, more accessible for end users.
I love how the background and music changes depending on who is winning.
Loved it. I've reached giant baby/cows(?), are there any stages after that?
I love how the buttons are in game buttons. I wish the mechanic of throwing things revolving around me had an in game function.
Most of the questions follow the format "Do you want the good thing?" That isn't an interesting choice to make.
The Web (Firefox/IE) version works.
Neat game. Although the levels need to be connected (instead of having to go back to the main menu).
