I've seen some other games with the dropbox problem. It doesn't work in Chrome, but I can load it in Firefox.
Great intro style. I like the grainy gameplay graphics too.
Nice job. I used the game of life for my inspiration too. I like that you have a sandbox mode where you can experiment with the game rules outside of battle mode.
Nice idea. At first it was cool to freeform name your own technologies and colony names, but it would have been nice to have technobabble generator give me a pre-populated choice or two.
Excellent job.
The best graphics I've seen so far. More levels would be nice, but I think there is a great foundation to take forward if you want.
Getting shadowed by your previous life was pretty cool, I hope you can add more levels, different weapon types, or maybe some kind of power up system based on previous kills.
Awesome graphics, music, and overall ambiance, But I wasn't sure what the goal was.
Awesome game. I agree with all of the other positive comments. I really like the bouncy squares. My only negative is that the intro scene on the final level is kind of annoying to sit through after getting squished multiple times.
Great ambiance. I think I may have reached the ending, but it was so sudden that I'm not sure if it was the real ending or just another death scene...
Great story, nicely done interface, and good theme. I felt the gameplay didn't give me a lot of choices, but I think a lot of big budget games work the same way in that there is a very linear progression through a set story arc.
Cool idea. I felt the people were rushing the gate a little fast. Sometimes you could block a person, but they would still be too far ahead to stamp them.
Nice music. I had a hard time clicking on enemies to kill them, but I'm not sure why I should even try because you can just dig around them.
Very nice graphics. In the game it was a little hard to focus on the characters and find where they jumped to after they teleported to a new area.
I liked the sketch style graphics.
Cool idea to take a minimal concept and flesh it out with some fancy graphics and a bunch of obstacles. The music is pretty catchy too. One minor nitpick is that I would have liked a countdown timer at the beginning of each level instead of seeing the level but being unable to move until it says "Go".
Very nice idea. It reminded me of those minimalist paintings.
Very funny
The first time I played it I didn't understand that I was rotating 3D shapes. And if you just press WASD briefly the shape flashes and seems to rotate back to the original position. I only came back to see it a second time after another friend said it was worth checking out.
Anyway - cool game and maybe there is a good shape you can find for a couple intro levels to make it easier on people that don't get it right away.
Nice mood. The graphics are really sharp. I felt like the synthesizer music didn't match the crisp graphical layout.
I just updated the description to highlight that you can select levels from the left-side menu. There are 12 levels in the jam version.
@GaTechGrad - you should be able to rotate pieces by pressing Q or E - or by double clicking the shape.
Looks like an interesting game, but I got stuck at the hallway with the crushing plates. I wasn't sure what to do to get by.
Great game. I played this with Daft Punk playing in the background. It was a perfect fit!
At first I also really wanted left/right clicking to cycle in opposite directions, but I think it would take some of the fun/danger out of the clicking too many times.
Fits well with the theme, but yeah I agree with other people that it is kind of frustrating to play! I think it might be fun if there was some type of audio feedback to let you know if you were about to fall off the platform and then add a timer so that you can't take forever on each level. Then again - that is a different game from what you built.
Nice game. I don't think it needs to be easier. Tic tac toe is a solved game so there isn't a lot of challenge to get to a draw against a perfect AI.
Really awesome idea. The only nitpick I have is that the prices change out from underneath you. I think when you mouseover the sell/buy button that it should lock in that item's price until you make a decision. The wide variety of items was nice to see too.
Cool twist on the shifting realities idea. My favorite part was jumping on the bird. My game features a hipster arranging furniture - maybe it is a sequel to this one - haha.
Cool game and really clean graphics. I think you should add directions for WASD to the game itself, I couldn't figure it out until I came back and read the directions on this page.
I like the simplicity of the controls and it is an interesting mechanic I haven't seen before.
The flight mechanic worked really well and I liked the way you incorporated toggling RGB colors to get around obstacles. Most of the time I wanted to set an RGB to either 0 or max - so it would have been nice to have hotkeys to instantly toggle those values.
Neat idea. I like the simplicity. Is there a way to restart a level if you get stuck?
Great game. The simple graphics work really well. I like the relaxing music too, most action puzzles like this tend to have music that gets you more pumped up and stressed out as the game speeds up.
Here are a few ideas after playing your deluxe version a bunch:
- trains should never drop shapes if they are going towards a station that accepts that shape (even if there is a "shorter" route if a 2nd train picks it up).
- trains should always pick up shapes if they are going towards a valid station (even if a 2nd train could provide a "shorter" route).
- the gameover state shouldn't get triggered if there is a train loading at that station
- trains shouldn't leave a station if there are other trains at the station which are still unloading.
- there should be a status window that tells you the total length of each track and number of stops
- it would be nice if there was a way to see if multiple tracks are overlapping on the same route
- it might be nice to be able to setup loops where trains travel in a circle
Excellent job and one of my favorite games so far. One nitpick though - I think the first few levels are too slow. I think you should introduce a flashing light to cover on the very first level. Also - I got stuck on the level with an 'R' where you have to get a light out of the corner - it would be nice if there was a reset button or something.
I like the storyline and over the top pixelated violence.
The musical tones sound really nice. The three dimensional aspect of the puzzle was also cool. I wish there was a way to add and remove nodes in a freeplay mode.
Nice idea and clean execution. The third level is kind of tricky, I think it would have been better to create a level with only a large gap to demonstrate the falling/jumping combo. Most games don't let you jump after you start falling off a platform so I didn't realize it was possible until I read the comments here.
This is one of the best uses of minimal game components while still having an interesting game.
I really liked the artwork changing when you touch it - I agree it would be nice if the white and red parts also transformed somehow.
launch page looks cool, but I don't have anyone else online to play.
Really nice and polished game as everyone is used to. It didn't seem to fully embrace the theme, but I liked playing it a lot.
Very neat idea. I had a hard time adjusting to going up or down instead of left/right. Crashing was fun too.
Nice job. I like the simplicity.
Nice idea. It feels a little ominous and not quite relaxing though. heh.
Nice concept. I liked the levels where you didn't have to to calculate numbers in specific orders, but instead just had to get to various target numbers to pass through gate.
Nice racing game, but I didn't really get a sense of speed while going down the road. Some markers on the side of the road might help it seem like you are going faster.
Really cool game. I think you could provide a hint or two at the beginning about keeping boxes next to the neighbors that they like without giving away spoilers about all of the rules in the game.
I really liked your concept. I thought it was a little frustrating to have to reload the gun all the time. I thought it was neat to switch between a sticky bullet and a slippery bullet. The sound that the bullet makes when striking a platform was also cool.
Really cool game control mechanic. I wasn't sure if the fish were enemies because they didn't seem to damage my ship.
I like the creepy music.
oops - I guess the music I heard was coming from a different browser tab! I like the way you gradually add the controls in the game.
Banjo music is nice. The font fits your mining theme pretty good, but it is sometimes hard to read.
Nice music. I wish the controls were explained in the game rather than the description of your game on this site.
I like the idea of a tower defense game where you can move around, but I think the first waves should be a little easier.
The frowny face on the fish when it dies is pretty funny. The seaweed obstacles at the bottom are a nice touch too.
I think this is the first time I played a game as a fridge. Cool idea...
The graphic style is really awesome. I am kind of confused about what to do. I wandered around for a few minutes and only ran into one bad guy. Then I guess I was walking on lava or something and died. Would definitely play more if there was something to do in the game.
Took me a while to figure out that I should drop the chests on the spikes instead of finding a key.
Hmmm, tried to pay and didn't get any pizza!
This game looks cool, but the pickaxe is kind of hard to use because most of the time you want to go up and not sideways.
Really nice and simple game. Most games like this tend to get harder and harder and you score points faster and faster, but in some respects this game gets easier as you take hits which is a really neat twist.
The art is great and the music fits perfectly.
Interesting game. I downloaded the game from the dropbox link - I think you need to change something in that link so it opens in the browser automatically.
Plays good.
Great puzzles. It would be nice if you could walk just a little bit faster.
