LD24 — Evolution

Papillon by ChevyRay 2012-08-31T19:01:00

Awesome job and I love the style. I agree with others that running back and forth got a little repetitive. It would have been nice to have a map so you can see where each special thing was.

The Three Rituals by Birchmountain 2012-08-27T05:09:00

I've seen some other games with the dropbox problem. It doesn't work in Chrome, but I can load it in Firefox.

Magna Systems Inc. by recursor 2012-08-27T04:55:00

Great intro style. I like the grainy gameplay graphics too.

LimiT by Sakuyan 2012-08-31T19:11:00

Nice graphics. The ending was cool.

Conway's Revenge by Nick Knowlson 2012-08-27T06:56:00

Nice job. I used the game of life for my inspiration too. I like that you have a sandbox mode where you can experiment with the game rules outside of battle mode.

Vicariously by pdyxs 2012-08-27T02:44:00

Nice idea. At first it was cool to freeform name your own technologies and colony names, but it would have been nice to have technobabble generator give me a pre-populated choice or two.

Strike of Rage ! by deepnight 2012-08-27T05:33:00

Excellent job.

Slime World by Lancelot Gao 2012-08-27T04:36:00

The best graphics I've seen so far. More levels would be nice, but I think there is a great foundation to take forward if you want.

Ludum Labs Evolution by ethankennerly 2012-08-27T03:31:00

Getting shadowed by your previous life was pretty cool, I hope you can add more levels, different weapon types, or maybe some kind of power up system based on previous kills.

The Balance by mr_Hk_ 2012-08-27T05:22:00

Awesome graphics, music, and overall ambiance, But I wasn't sure what the goal was.

How evolution really works? by keenblaze 2012-08-31T19:08:00

Awesome game. I agree with all of the other positive comments. I really like the bouncy squares. My only negative is that the intro scene on the final level is kind of annoying to sit through after getting squished multiple times.

OF SPECIES by kato9 2012-08-31T19:04:00

Great ambiance. I think I may have reached the ending, but it was so sudden that I'm not sure if it was the real ending or just another death scene...

Biovolve by Cryptix 2012-08-27T03:22:00

Nice job! I was hoping the levels would get more complicated and require switching between two orbs in the correct order or something, but I didn't reach any levels like that.

RED PLANET by BuffaloPhil 2012-08-31T18:58:00

Great story, nicely done interface, and good theme. I felt the gameplay didn't give me a lot of choices, but I think a lot of big budget games work the same way in that there is a very linear progression through a set story arc.

Human 2.0 by dengzo 2012-08-31T18:54:00

I like the graphics and sound - it really sets a nice mood.

LD25 — You are the Villain

POW MIA by nolacoaster 2012-12-17T06:39:00

Cool idea. I felt the people were rushing the gate a little fast. Sometimes you could block a person, but they would still be too far ahead to stamp them.

NONEX by feiss 2012-12-17T05:25:00

Nice entry. The graphics look very crisp.

LD26 — Minimalism

DIG QUEST Deluxe: ASCII Mining Adventure by SuperDisk 2013-05-06T05:29:00

Nice music. I had a hard time clicking on enemies to kill them, but I'm not sure why I should even try because you can just dig around them.

Twinimalism by TenTonToon 2013-05-06T06:00:00

Very nice graphics. In the game it was a little hard to focus on the characters and find where they jumped to after they teleported to a new area.

The Lamp by Catman 2013-05-13T21:00:00

Really fun game. I died a bunch because I kept trying to shine the flashlight on monsters to see what they looked like instead of getting to the lamp. haha.

Tic Tactics by youdonotexist 2013-05-01T06:01:00

I liked the sketch style graphics.

... by Dir3kt 2013-05-13T20:44:00

Very fun game. Some of the puzzles are "harder" than others, but I like that each puzzle is quick to finish once you see how to solve it.

Bridge Crosser by Elemental Zeal Games Studios 2013-05-06T05:09:00

Cool idea to take a minimal concept and flesh it out with some fancy graphics and a bunch of obstacles. The music is pretty catchy too. One minor nitpick is that I would have liked a countdown timer at the beginning of each level instead of seeing the level but being unable to move until it says "Go".

Metahotel by Christian S. 2013-05-01T06:10:00

Very nice idea. It reminded me of those minimalist paintings.

Staring Contest by timtimtimtim 2013-05-10T03:06:00

Very funny

shon by bitnenfer 2013-05-01T05:23:00

I like that you just move the mouse around and don't even have to click.

simpLify by SonnyBone 2013-05-01T04:24:00

Great graphics, sound, and style. Wish it was longer!

XYZ by ataxkt 2013-04-30T05:22:00

The first time I played it I didn't understand that I was rotating 3D shapes. And if you just press WASD briefly the shape flashes and seems to rotate back to the original position. I only came back to see it a second time after another friend said it was worth checking out.

Anyway - cool game and maybe there is a good shape you can find for a couple intro levels to make it easier on people that don't get it right away.

.MONDR by Haette 2013-05-13T20:50:00

I like the idea that you become "immune" to colors that already hit you. It might be neat if orange, purple, and green only affected you for 1/2 in each shared RGB value.

S by rodrigomotta 2013-05-04T14:48:00

Nice mood. The graphics are really sharp. I felt like the synthesizer music didn't match the crisp graphical layout.

Hipster Pad by nimblegorilla 2013-04-30T03:26:00

I just updated the description to highlight that you can select levels from the left-side menu. There are 12 levels in the jam version.

Hipster Pad by nimblegorilla 2013-05-10T23:24:00

@GaTechGrad - you should be able to rotate pieces by pressing Q or E - or by double clicking the shape.

Platonic Dot Solid by Prelucid 2013-04-30T03:40:00

Looks like an interesting game, but I got stuck at the hallway with the crushing plates. I wasn't sure what to do to get by.

Frame Aim by Symmeteer 2013-05-08T06:16:00

Neat idea. Pretty good for two hours. To make it more challenging you might make it so that parallel lines always move away from each other. Otherwise it is pretty easy to just make a tiny box around the yellow one.

The Clicky Box Bundle by haloflooder 2013-04-30T04:23:00

Great game. I played this with Daft Punk playing in the background. It was a perfect fit!

At first I also really wanted left/right clicking to cycle in opposite directions, but I think it would take some of the fun/danger out of the clicking too many times.

Minimalism : Find the red Cube by Martin_Monosys 2013-05-10T20:11:00

Fits well with the theme, but yeah I agree with other people that it is kind of frustrating to play! I think it might be fun if there was some type of audio feedback to let you know if you were about to fall off the platform and then add a timer so that you can't take forever on each level. Then again - that is a different game from what you built.

Tic Toc Tac Toe by delfino 2013-04-30T04:01:00

Nice game. I don't think it needs to be easier. Tic tac toe is a solved game so there isn't a lot of challenge to get to a draw against a perfect AI.

Hexzilla by Bernhard 2013-05-13T23:53:00

Cool game. I think it needs hotkeys - I couldn't spend my money fast enough!

Frankslist by hypothete 2013-05-09T16:16:00

Really awesome idea. The only nitpick I have is that the prices change out from underneath you. I think when you mouseover the sell/buy button that it should lock in that item's price until you make a decision. The wide variety of items was nice to see too.

NightCap by ShuddaHaddaLottaFun 2013-05-01T04:55:00

Cool twist on the shifting realities idea. My favorite part was jumping on the bird. My game features a hipster arranging furniture - maybe it is a sequel to this one - haha.

Integrate by Bloated Hippo 2013-05-11T16:50:00

Cool game and really clean graphics. I think you should add directions for WASD to the game itself, I couldn't figure it out until I came back and read the directions on this page.

Root Route! by netpro2k 2013-04-30T03:54:00

I like the simplicity of the controls and it is an interesting mechanic I haven't seen before.

Pixi : The pixel that is not a square ! by Panda313 2013-05-10T17:39:00

The flight mechanic worked really well and I liked the way you incorporated toggling RGB colors to get around obstacles. Most of the time I wanted to set an RGB to either 0 or max - so it would have been nice to have hotkeys to instantly toggle those values.

Pivot by meat_popsicle 2013-05-10T23:58:00

Neat idea. I like the simplicity. Is there a way to restart a level if you get stuck?

Mind the Gap by shiprib 2013-05-07T04:27:00

Great game. The simple graphics work really well. I like the relaxing music too, most action puzzles like this tend to have music that gets you more pumped up and stressed out as the game speeds up.

Mind the Gap by shiprib 2013-05-11T19:07:00

Here are a few ideas after playing your deluxe version a bunch:
- trains should never drop shapes if they are going towards a station that accepts that shape (even if there is a "shorter" route if a 2nd train picks it up).
- trains should always pick up shapes if they are going towards a valid station (even if a 2nd train could provide a "shorter" route).
- the gameover state shouldn't get triggered if there is a train loading at that station
- trains shouldn't leave a station if there are other trains at the station which are still unloading.
- there should be a status window that tells you the total length of each track and number of stops
- it would be nice if there was a way to see if multiple tracks are overlapping on the same route
- it might be nice to be able to setup loops where trains travel in a circle

Ballisto by nemec 2013-05-14T02:32:00

The graphics have a really neat style. So refreshing to see something that isn't pixel art!

Gallery by Andrew Shouldice 2013-05-08T06:12:00

Excellent job and one of my favorite games so far. One nitpick though - I think the first few levels are too slow. I think you should introduce a flashing light to cover on the very first level. Also - I got stuck on the level with an 'R' where you have to get a light out of the corner - it would be nice if there was a reset button or something.

Steve Can't Zen by DaanVanYperen 2013-05-08T03:32:00

I like the storyline and over the top pixelated violence.

Synesthesis by TheFuntastic 2013-05-08T03:45:00

The musical tones sound really nice. The three dimensional aspect of the puzzle was also cool. I wish there was a way to add and remove nodes in a freeplay mode.

Minimal Run by calimeraw 2013-05-09T16:26:00

Nice idea and clean execution. The third level is kind of tricky, I think it would have been better to create a level with only a large gap to demonstrate the falling/jumping combo. Most games don't let you jump after you start falling off a platform so I didn't realize it was possible until I read the comments here.

Mobius by 3beards 2013-05-09T16:41:00

Great concept. I liked the levels where you had to do a lot of jumping across different gravity planes more than some of the other levels where you have to time your jumps to avoid the red spots.

Dragenvoy by Nolojen 2013-05-01T04:48:00

Neat concept. It seemed to take a while before the tail got long enough to get in my way and then all of a sudden it swings around in my face! haha

minimalism by tchagnon 2013-05-01T05:27:00

This is one of the best uses of minimal game components while still having an interesting game.

Harmonize by dakeese 2013-04-30T03:45:00

Very cool idea. I think it would be nice if the instrument volumes were a little more pronounced compared to the background music.

MinimaLand by Switchbreak 2013-05-01T04:39:00

I really liked the artwork changing when you touch it - I agree it would be nice if the white and red parts also transformed somehow.

Potato Gnomes Online by EpaceGames 2013-04-30T20:27:00

launch page looks cool, but I don't have anyone else online to play.

Budget Squad by deepnight 2013-05-08T06:22:00

Really nice and polished game as everyone is used to. It didn't seem to fully embrace the theme, but I liked playing it a lot.

Right Side of the Road by ethankennerly 2013-05-08T05:04:00

Very neat idea. I had a hard time adjusting to going up or down instead of left/right. Crashing was fun too.

Shaving Quest: The Razor's Edge by Milktoast 2013-04-30T17:33:00

Nice job. I like the simplicity.

Robot Meditation by triplefox 2013-05-01T05:16:00

Nice idea. It feels a little ominous and not quite relaxing though. heh.

Collision by MatrixBai 2013-04-30T20:04:00

Nice game. Instead of forcing people to figure out all of the mechanics I think you should have a simple not telling them to click on shapes to make them attracted to each other. They can figure out the rest from there.

A Game of Numbers by JoeDev_net 2013-05-06T05:01:00

Nice concept. I liked the levels where you didn't have to to calculate numbers in specific orders, but instead just had to get to various target numbers to pass through gate.

Highway 00101 by r3d5 2013-05-06T05:17:00

Nice racing game, but I didn't really get a sense of speed while going down the road. Some markers on the side of the road might help it seem like you are going faster.

Boximalism by poohshoes 2013-05-18T17:33:00

Really cool game. I think you could provide a hint or two at the beginning about keeping boxes next to the neighbors that they like without giving away spoilers about all of the rules in the game.

Orbfuscated by CaptainKraft 2013-04-30T04:08:00

I really liked your concept. I thought it was a little frustrating to have to reload the gun all the time. I thought it was neat to switch between a sticky bullet and a slippery bullet. The sound that the bullet makes when striking a platform was also cool.

Minizator by Dreauw 2013-05-11T16:46:00

It was cool to switch between worlds. It might be nicer to see clues in the real world that indicate what changes will happen if you switch to the minimal world. Example: clouds in the real world turn into bocks in the fake world.

LD29 — Beneath the Surface

Schist by ix 2014-04-28T02:50:00

Nice riff on artillery. The graphics and sound fit together nicely.

Beneath by gritfish 2014-04-28T04:05:00

I liked the block clearing mechanic, but I wasn't sure how many blocks I needed to clear on each level. It just seemed to happen.

Spaceship: Ocean by Kyle Wanzek 2014-05-02T02:06:00

Really cool game control mechanic. I wasn't sure if the fish were enemies because they didn't seem to damage my ship.

Under Your Skin by JumbocactuarX27 2014-04-30T00:24:00

I like the creepy music.

Under Your Skin by JumbocactuarX27 2014-04-30T00:30:00

oops - I guess the music I heard was coming from a different browser tab! I like the way you gradually add the controls in the game.

In the Black by HybridMind 2014-04-30T00:53:00

Banjo music is nice. The font fits your mining theme pretty good, but it is sometimes hard to read.

They Lurk Beneath by Nega Drive 2014-04-30T00:28:00

Nice music. I wish the controls were explained in the game rather than the description of your game on this site.

Underground City Defender by Switchbreak 2014-04-30T00:43:00

I like the idea of a tower defense game where you can move around, but I think the first waves should be a little easier.

Sink or Swim by noom 2014-05-01T01:15:00

The frowny face on the fish when it dies is pretty funny. The seaweed obstacles at the bottom are a nice touch too.

Ultimate Underground Fridge Runner by randomdragoon 2014-04-30T00:57:00

I think this is the first time I played a game as a fridge. Cool idea...

Necronomicon by lowcade 2014-04-30T01:03:00

The graphic style is really awesome. I am kind of confused about what to do. I wandered around for a few minutes and only ran into one bad guy. Then I guess I was walking on lava or something and died. Would definitely play more if there was something to do in the game.

Mole Position by Glint Games 2014-04-28T02:45:00

Took me a while to figure out that I should drop the chests on the spikes instead of finding a key.

Shanghai by Warboys 2014-04-30T03:53:00

Really cool game mechanic, but I had to read the directions a few times before figuring out where to drag stuff. I felt that the flags disappear a little too quickly. Music and graphics look nice!

Things for free by AugustSnow 2014-05-01T01:30:00

Hmmm, tried to pay and didn't get any pizza!

Bobs Incident by shane1090 2014-05-01T01:21:00

This game looks cool, but the pickaxe is kind of hard to use because most of the time you want to go up and not sideways.

Layered by Jessica Hayley 2014-04-30T00:47:00

Really nice and simple game. Most games like this tend to get harder and harder and you score points faster and faster, but in some respects this game gets easier as you take hits which is a really neat twist.

Kill or Kill by GreatBigJerk 2014-05-02T00:23:00

The art is great and the music fits perfectly.

Do not sleep by Dimir 2014-04-30T01:37:00

Interesting game. I downloaded the game from the dropbox link - I think you need to change something in that link so it opens in the browser automatically.

Cybs Submarine by Cybs 2014-04-30T01:42:00

Plays good.

Army of Gnone by cambrian_era 2014-05-02T02:19:00

Great puzzles. It would be nice if you could walk just a little bit faster.
