10 sec. Fast Beef by Alexander Ponomariov 2013-08-31T22:24:00
Solid game, very polished presentation. Gameplay is pretty basic but fun. Nice work!

Solid game, very polished presentation. Gameplay is pretty basic but fun. Nice work!
A simple but fun game! The physics of the train crash and the people flying make it that much more entertaining. I like the art style too. Could maybe do with some more mechanics, but its good for what it is.
This is cool. I like how it all combines together at the end - and the LSD mode is obviously great. Nifty.
Not a bad game here. Quite difficult though, or maybe I'm just bad at it. :)
This game is great! I love the trippy visuals and the sound design. The way you time game elements with the music to create a rhythm to the platforming is fascinating. Really cool.
Graphics are decent. Game is a bit too fast and the shooting has issues - you need to be able to have multiple fireballs on screen at once, because at the moment tapping the shoot button just resets the fireball position over and over - kind of awkward. Some sound would have been good too. Otherwise not a bad effort.
Cool. Love the graphics and atmosphere in this. Took me a while to figure out what to do, but it seems like there could have been a bit more to it. Nice logo too.
Excellent presentation - great pixel art and music. Game concept is clever and fun. All round pretty good.
Really cool. Love the presentation and music on this. Its interesting that it is less of a puzzle and more about moving the blocks around quickly. The controls with the dragging were a bit awkward to deal with, though - would probably be great on a touch screen.
This is one of the best games I've played for this jam so far. Really charming. Love the music, and graphics. A clever implementation of the mechanics. Just really great.
Fantastic idea! Very well presented. I found it a bit difficult - but I guess thats the point. I was also never sure which powerups to bring along. Maybe some sort of preview of the level would be nice so you can make a plan?
Intriguing idea. Nice graphics and decent sound. I actually liked that it was a bit clunky to play, working out which keys go to which nodes and stuff, it adds something to it somehow.
First of all, the presentation is FANTASTIC. Secondly it is pretty god damn fun. My only gripe is its easy to get stuck in things when moving around. A bit of tightening up on the controls and this game would be spot on.
Haha, this is funny. Such a simple idea but executed in a fun way. I like it!
Surprisingly fun. Love the pixel art style. Feels like an old DOS game for some reason, in a good nostalgic way I mean. Enjoyed the shops and the levelling up.
Nice job with this. You did a good job establishing a dark mood with the presentation. The controls felt a bit finicky and sensitive at times but pretty fun overall and a cool idea.
More interesting than it first appears, actually. I like the idea of the rooms remembering your time limit. It's not much to look at though, to be honest. But its certainly something that could be elaborated upon!
You simply can't go wrong with physics-based flailing flying bodies - they are always hilarious. This is no exception. Nice game guys.
Not really a fan of button mashers myself, but other people are, and the concept is solid, so not bad. Nice animations and good music. I feel like there could have been more indication of how fast you are running when you're in the middle of the track - since all the lines are horizontal there's no point of reference.
Fun game. Interesting take on the theme, and nice pixel art. Nice job!
I tried, I'm sure there's something to it but I can't get my head around it. Seems like it could be interesting.
Neat game, if a little too easy. I like the basic idea of the game, it would be cool to see an expanded version. Love the 'cyberspace' look.
Really great! Gameplay is fun, and love the graphics and the music, just overall incredibly well polished. Wouldn't think it was done within 72 hours just by looking at it.
Fun game! Actually kind of hard, as well. I like your sprites, they are well animated and fun. The graphics in general are fine, and I appreciate the particle effects and small touches. The music is a little bit random, but it's decent enough to add to the mood.
This is great! Impressive that you basically managed to make 8 games in the alloted time. I love the humour and the nods to different games. Also the music is great - love that you put the Prodigy on the space invaders game. Found switching between different controls on the game a bit jarring, but other than that, fantastic work.
Interesting idea of breaking an RPG down to its most basic level. To be perfectly honest I didn't find it all that fun though, a bit monotonous and kind of too hard once you get to level 3. I found the idea of having to monitor the different resources simultaneously quite interesting. Nice simple graphic style too.
Interesting mechanics here, fun use of physics too. I love the music, and the minimalist graphical presentation is cool.
Not a bad game. Good idea. A bit too short though, and some sound would have been nice. Didn't really see any reason to shoot anything, either.
Love the music on this. You've established a really good atmosphere. Game mechanic is cool although controls take a bit of getting used to. Nice job though!
Nice! The mouse wheel for controlling the speed of time is really cool, I love how it also effects the pitch of the sounds on the fly too. Fun little game.
Bizarre concept but cool. The mechanics are a bit obscure, I had trouble figuring out what to do. Really like the presentation.
Fantastic art direction. Quite funny, although the game mechanics are a little obscure. Am I supposed to be saying the same amount of nice things as mean things to keep the meter in the middle? I'm not really sure. Overall pretty great.
I like the art style! The premise is odd but kind of neat, focusing on narrative instead of gameplay challenges. Good job.
The basic idea of a random platformer generator here is pretty cool. It didn't seem like there's much else going on here though. I'm not sure what my character is supposed to be. A small missile? I did enjoy 'paly'ing this game for a bit though. :)
Fantastic! Love the mood you've established. The old monitor graphics and the ambient sounds make it really atmospheric. Very cool concept too. Nice job.
Cool game! Very nice presentation touches, with the film countdown and the silent movie style caption borders. Really neat. I found the platforming controls a bit weird to deal with. Oh the mechanic with getting the pictures in order is interesting as well. Nice job.
Best god damn game. Love the trippy art! Also it has a dinosaur eating people. 5/5
The basic foundation is fun. I like the upgrade system. Could do with some more polish in the presentation. I feel bad shooting cats though :(
Loving the graphical style, although could have done with a bit of animation on the character I think. I like the idea, its an interesting twist on the theme. I found it a bit too easy though - it's quite generous with the starting health and the pickups. Overall well done, though!
Enjoyable take on the theme, fun use of physics, all round pretty great.
Took me a while to figure this one out, but turned out to be somewhat interesting. Very basic idea but tricky. Cool stuff.
Yeah I got a bit of an Osmos vibe from this as well. Took me a sec to figure it out, but cool game.
Even though I make music myself (although I don't play actual instruments much) this was hard as hell. I could manage when the cymbal rides came in, but then the cymbal crashes as well, ouch. Interesting take on the theme though.
Good work on this Jim! I saw bits of the stream here and there, looks like it all came together nicely. The graphics are very reminiscent of the Amiga days, and I enjoy the quirky sense of humour.
Fun little puzzle game. Seems quite hard though, feel like the game could give you more pieces to work with. Love the music.
I like the time reversal effect. A cool take on the theme overall.
Interesting idea. Nice minimalist style. Did you guys play Antichamber? Seems very similar to that. Good job!
The thing about having to work out which character you are is really cool, I don't think I've ever seen that before, so that's pretty interesting. Not a big fan of the music to be honest, but the game itself is good.
Thanks for the feedback motty. If you click the full screen button at the bottom of the page it should scale it down to your resolution. Hope that helps a bit. :)
And it seems you can also use the Page Zoom feature in your web browser to scale the game up and down. Usually CTRL + mousewheel.
VERY cool concept. Presentation is top notch. It was a little tricky to figure out though, and sometimes playing the same sequence of actions will result in different enemies dying or not dying. I didn't quite get it, but overall very cool.
Funny idea, although not sure what was being said/what I was saying most of the time. It all goes a bit quick.
Digging the isometric style. Nice music too, strangely entrancing. I found having to tap the keys to move quite annoying though.
Fun little game, very polished. Nice graphics, nice music and nice voice over. Good job!
Very cool narrative going on here. Spinning into the enemies is really fun and sharing the time out between you and the girl is interesting. Some audio would be nice!
Nice game! It would be really cool to see this game expanded with more crazy random things that could happen. The music is nice and the character is amusing. Also, did you play Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon? That title screen background looks awfully familiar. :)
I can see what you were going for here, but I have no idea where to even start. I think I've interacted with everything? Am I just dumb? I like the graphics and music though.
Neat game, quite enjoyable. Cute graphics and nice music. Amusing intro, although I had the bug with the player not showing too.
Good idea, controls seemed a bit clunky though and more effects would have been good, like an explosion for the bomb going off. The AI for the guard guy was a bit wonky too and I could easily avoid him. Otherwise not bad.
Very awesome mood going on here. Nice music too. The controls feel a little clunky though, I thought. And the link to the theme is a little bit tenuous, but other than that, very cool.
I like the idea of it, its pretty fun. I found it quite hard and a bit difficult to tell whats going on sometimes. I also fell of the right edge of the level on one bit and got stuck. The graphics are ok, but the music is great. Pretty good overall!
You had me on 'cyber viking'. I like the pastel coloured art style, very interesting. Simple but fun game. Are you allowed to use that music from Doom though?
Fun little game with decent graphics, and the variety of powerups keeps things fresh. The link with the theme seems a little tenuous though.
Awesome. Graphics are great. Cool take on the theme too. Reminds me of Hotline Miami a bit, except with more brandy and top hats. Nice job!
Seemed interesting but it was telling me I didn't have MSVCP110.dll - I checked in my system folders and its in there. I'm running Win8 64-bit.
Sorry, my bad, it was MSVCR110.dll - but I got it working now. Seems like an interesting idea!
I think you were onto something here but it really needs more time to be fleshed out. Very interesting concept though. The graphic style is really cool!
Great job on this! Very polished and well realised. I liked the upgrading the boat aspect of it. Nice graphics too.
I have to agree with other people that the movement is too slow. I get there's a reason for it narratively, and that time is going slower for the player, but having the ship move that slowly simply makes the game less fun. I do like the basic idea of the game and it's quite atmospheric with the music.
Love the graphical and audio style, reminds me of Rez. Controls were a bit clunky though, and it seems like I couldn't reach some of the red blocks. Overall pretty cool.
Love the graphics and music, and the voice-over. Interesting stuff done with the narrative and linking it in with the theme. Can't think of anything bad to say really!
Interesting idea, although a bit obscure to figure out. I really like the art style, and the music is nice.
Pretty fun. I'm liking the art style and music. My only real niggle with it is the enemy shots and grenades are a bit hard to make out, so it's a bit tricky to keep track of whats going on. More locations to teleport to would have been cool too. Other than that, pretty good.
How on earth did you do this in 72 hours? This is amazing. By far my favourite entry so far. My only complaint is some of the dialog is a bit heavy-handed, but the storytelling in general is really good. The mechanics are interesting too, and jumping around in the suit feels heavy, like it should. Graphics and audio are top notch. Awesome stuff!
Impressive stuff. The ambient sound was particularly good. The mouse pointer staying active was a bit awkward, but other than that, really cool.
Cool game. Interesting concept and clever take on the theme. I like the graphic style going on here, its simple but really slick.
I like these sorts of ambient exploration games so this is great! Really awesome sense of atmosphere, and the gameplay is spot on too.
Fantastic job! Really polished, impressive that you made it in 72 hours. Love the music, particularly the dynamic music change when you go underwater. Awesome graphics. Really satisfying when you attack enemies too (I think its the screen shake that does it.) Great game!
Interesting idea, definitely experimental, but really cool. I liked that there was no real win or lose, and if you delay or press too soon, its ok, its like your own version of the tune.
Awesome. Love the graphics and the dark yet humourous mood. The intro was great!
This is really impressive considering the time limit. The presentation is beautiful, and the multiplayer aspects are interesting.
Fantastic. I love the graphics and music. Was a game like this ever in arcades during the 80s? Because it seems a lot like something that would have been. I mean that in a good way, of course. Really fun!
Haha, pretty funny game. Love the animations and the music. The policeman getting his rave on was great.
Out of the quadrillions of ore-mining games this competition, this one is the best I've seen so far. Very awesome polished visuals and sound, and I wasn't expecting the upgrading mechanic, which added a lot to the gameplay.
Cool game! Very polished. Feels pretty intense for a mining game, I think its the music that helps. Love the different weapons. Awesome job.
Well that was morbid. Cool game, mechanics about as simple as you can get, but its still quite a gripping game. Good use of sound effects too.
Really interesting idea. Kind of has a Papers Please vibe. Like it!
Interesting game. I like the lo-fi colour themes, they are quite a unique look. The concept is pretty clever. I do feel like a lot of it is based around luck though.
Cute game. Interesting idea with the bouncing/direction thing, though tricky to get the hand of it. The music is good.
Pretty innovative game. It's an interesting dilemma weighing up whether to go sideways to get the energy or continue travelling down in the hopes you'll find some more below.
Pretty slick presentation, great pixel art and sound. Interesting concept for a puzzle game too. Not to be 'that guy', but it felt a bit weird that I was only killing girls. Why can't I kill some guys too? I support equal opportunity mole-rat-alien devouring!
Nice presentation here, slick graphics and music. I felt the gameplay was a bit repetitive, having to go back and forth between the tents. Other than that, its an interesting concept and pretty fun.
I like your take on the theme - chipping away at a surface rather than going underneath it. The game is cool and the flying and shooting feels solid. Would like some actual objectives, though.
Interesting mechanics, fairly basic but fun. Cute graphics and music. Nice work!
Really interesting game and nice take on the theme. Good graphics and music. I particularly like the effects on the cubes. Really slick.
I love the ridiculously epic dive. Surprisingly tricky game, my head can't get around pressing keys and clicking on the things at the same time, but its fun!
Oh man, this is so cool. You set off my PS1 nostalgia something fierce with this. The dodgy models and warped textures and tank controls are perfect! Nice atmosphere as well.
Very awesome graphics. I like that the encounters are creepy shapes under the water instead of just being random. Would be cool to see it expanded!
I find the ASCII art look of the game quite interesting. It's an alright concept, though I think it could use more feedback when you gain focus. It's also not obvious what direction on the controls matches which action, making the rhythm things into directional arrows might have been good.
Pretty fun. I dig the oldskool vector aesthetic, very arcadey. The gameplay is fun too, and the concept of being stuck on the waves that are affected by physics is interesting.
Wish I could play this with 3 other people, seems like it would be really fun. I like the idea though. Reminds me a bit of Octodad.
Cool little game. Seems like it'd be a great fit for mobile. I like the glass breaking effects.
I like this idea. This game is surprisingly tense when the sandworm pops out, good sense of atmosphere. Pretty cool.
Interesting game, I like the concept behind it. The graphics are simple, but effective.
I love the idea, and the graphics are sufficiently SimCity-ish to buzz those nostalgia centres. An impressive implementation considering the time limit.
I like the colourful background graphics here. Seems really fun (I don't have anyone else to play with), the gameplay is smooth and the presentation is really slick. Nice music too!
Interesting game! The isometric 3D is well implemented, if a bit confusing to determine the positions of things sometimes. I like the music, too.
Funny game! I'm actually quite fond of the MS Paint-ish graphics, they're quirky and charming in a way. Like other people said I think the jellyfish are a bit harsh, I seem to spend a slightly annoying amount of time being electrocuted. Otherwise its good!
Simple game but quite fun. Feels good to mine through stuff. The rotation effect when you die is neat. It did feel like a bit of a button mash at times though, and maybe it could do with more types of obstacles.
Those isometric bouncy effects are awesome, if a little impractical as far as actual gameplay goes. I like the concept too. Polished presentation all round and nice music too.
Quite an eerie game, with the heartbeat and darkness and everything. I like the deformable geometry tech, very cool. With some work this could become a neat game!
This has the makings of something interesting, but it doesn't really make much sense at the moment. It certainly looks quite nice, and the light beams coming from the squares look cool. I'd like to see where you're going with this.
Well I can't say I was expecting to play Anime Typing of the Dead during this competition, but there you go. Fun stuff indeed! The graphics and sound are top notch.
That slomo zoom is so damn cool. Even though the gameplay is basic, the sense of style, and the graphics and sound, make it into a surprisingly cool experience.
Neat game. Simple, but overall very slick and fluid controls. I like the worm effects, even though its just several circles it actually looks really cool in motion.
Pretty cool game. I'm liking the Gameboy aesthetic. Starts off a bit slowly but soon picks up. Good job!
This is fantastic. Loving the graphics, the dynamic music, and the humour. The divekick is really satisfying to use. I feel like it gets too frantic too quickly, but otherwise its great.
Excellent presentation in this, and sharp controls. It's really slow and a bit dull in the beginning though. It'd be better if it started off at a much higher difficulty I think.
Pretty fun game. I liked the NPC helpers, and teaming up with them to kill the blobs felt good. The controls felt a bit clunky, but I understand you can't do everything within the time limit. The basic idea is good though and I'd like to see it expanded upon. Nice music too!
Cute game. Pretty fun stuff! Controls are sharp, and the graphics are simple but functional. The music is nice too. Good job.
Visual novels aren't really my thing, but I did really like the graphics. And some of the dialog was kinda funny.
I like your take on the theme with this one - I don't think I've seen any other robot-fixing games yet. I love the atmosphere as well. Slick presentation all round. Nice job!
Nice game! I really like the music. The presentation in general is really good. Fun times.
Fascinating idea with the texture switching to change the properties of objects. I like the intro sequence, and the music is good too. The game itself could use some lighting, the max-brightness look isn't the best. Really cool though!
Cool game, really polished, great presentation all round. Getting a diamond is awesome.
Nice polished presentation, and great sense of atmosphere. I liked the concept too. I like how frantic it gets once you've got a lot of rooms on the go at once.
Really nice graphics, I like how the planet is round and you can walk around the whole thing, and going down into the various layers of the planet is cool too. Pretty fun game.
Interesting concept. Surprisingly good sense of mood for a text based game, with the font and the music. Some graphical accompaniments would have been nice, and a bit more depth to the gameplay, but otherwise pretty good.
Quite a cool game, very intense. The camera swinging actually made me a bit disoriented, and could probably do with toning down. The explosion effect is awesome. Nice music too.
Fun little game. Took me a while to figure out I was actually coming out of the water, I thought the background was just some sort of gradient. I could just be dumb though. I like the way the music changes instruments, that was neat. Presentation is simple but pleasing. Nice work!
Great game! Love the mechanics. I appreciate how the music grows as you get more powerful. Really cool.
Neat idea. I like your take on the theme. The tower defense mechanics are solid, and I like the presentation in general. The shop button is too small though, and it'd be nicer to have quicker access to selecting towers to place.
Really cool game. Reminds me of Thomas Was Alone, with the slanted camera angles and rectangular characters. Very good sense of atmosphere, and the juxtaposition between the monochromatic first level and the later more colourful style was interesting.
Neat game. I like the atmosphere, its very mysterious. Decent graphics and sound. Some gameplay aspects are a bit obscure and maybe need explaining a bit better (like the shift key mode). Good job though!
Not a bad start. The art is simple but pretty atmospheric. I like the streamlined point-and-click gameplay. Has a lot of potential!
Cool game. Sometimes the rocks would get wedged in and I couldn't carry on. The lighting effects are awesome, though, and combined with the music it creates a good sense of mood.
Really nice mood, I like the pastel colours and the ambient music. It's a bit buggy though, the game crashed when I bought some harpoons. Overall I liked it though.
Cool game. The concept is interesting. I like the music and the sense of mood. I feel like it could teach the player about the mechanics a bit better though.
Pretty neat game. Solid mechanics and interesting interpretation of the theme. Smartly presented with simple graphics and nice music too.
Cool idea. Certainly one of the better games I've seen this competition. Love the art style.
Nice twist on the classic snake formula. I love the glowy effects, they make the otherwise simple graphics look really cool. I like the music, too.
Really? It should be 720p. We're looking into doing an alternate web version with a smaller screen at some point, though.
Thanks for all the comments and criticisms everyone! We are currently working on a post-jam version with more balanced gameplay, and yes, POWERUPS! Hooray! And some sneaky secret extra stuff. Stay tuned.
Amazing graphics and presentation on show here. Perhaps the gameplay is a bit too hard? Some neat ideas with the side walls opening up. I also thought it was neat that your webpage fits in with the style of the game. I dunno, just a neat touch.
I like the paper cutout style of the graphics, really interesting. Pretty simple game, but the sense of style makes it more interesting.
Ouch, that fight was surprisingly difficult. Maybe the bright green on the first screen had burnt out my retinas? I like the bullet hell style though. I kind of want to know more about the story too, the small amount in there actually seems sort of interesting.
Pretty impressive 3D graphics. I like the music too. Having to surface for air seemed a little unnecessary, but pretty fun overall.
I like the backstory, quite a clever premise. The graphics are simple but establish a cool mood. Mechanics are generally solid although I found myself getting stuck on the edge of platforms quite often. Nice job though!
Loving the art style here. Cool game!
Funny concept. Really nice graphics and decent gameplay. It'd be nice to see it expanded into something bigger. I feel like the start of the race didn't need to count down all the way from 10, though.
The graphics in this are amazing. Combining stealth with turn-based gameplay was a good call. Very sharp gameplay. Just a slick presentation all round really.
Interesting take on the whole pipe-game concept. I like the sliding puzzle aspects, having to move the pieces around and manage your space. Pretty fun to play and decent presentation. Good job!
Amazing graphics here, especially the animations. The gameplay is alright but way too hard. The one-hit death just seems a bit unfair, and there are bits in the front that cover everything up when you're fighting enemies. Otherwise great job!
Not bad, the gameplay is a bit too basic I think. I appreciate the environmental message of the game though. Music is lovely as well.
This is awesome. One of my favourite games in the compo so far. The presentation is spot on, love the graphics and the music. And above all, its fun. I liked jumping out of the water for some reason.
Nice simple puzzle game. Clicking on the mirrors to rotate them was sometimes a bit annoying since it only registers clicks on the mirror itself, rather than the whole block. It was also non-obvious which portal was the entrance and which was the exit. Maybe some little arrows on the icons would help. Graphics and music are good. Nice job!
Nice polished entry! A bit simplistic for my tastes but probably makes a suitable mobile game. I really like the ambient sounds.
This is pretty cool. I've seen similar platform games in this compo with two worlds, one of which is upside down - but this is the best implementation of that I've seen so far. The whole using gravity to propel yourself higher in the upside down world concept is really cool.
Pretty cool game. Very polished - the graphics and music are excellent. I like that you took a strategy game concept and made it simple and accessible. Nice job!
QWOP meets Shadow of the Colossus? Can't say I was expecting that, but I like it! Excellent sense of atmosphere, in terms of both graphics and sound.
Cool game. Really slick presentation. Mechanics are simple but fun. Awesome!
Nice game, surprisingly clever with being able to take risks and grab the gems above the surface. Cute graphics and sound. Like it!
Cool concept. The black and white style is neat. The controls felt good, and while the wall jumping was fun, it got a bit too tricky when I had to do it reversed and precisely at the same time.
Cute game. Mechanics are pretty basic, but it works for what it is. The literary theme was interesting.
Nice graphics. The levels reminded me of Portal a bit? A fairly well polished game, with some cool graphic effects, and decent gameplay, gets quite tricky in parts.
Wish there was more to do in this game, but cool nonetheless! Very atmospheric. Reminds me a lot of Knytt (go check it out if you haven't, its awesome!) Nice use of ambient sounds.
Neat idea, I like the genetics and reproduction simulation, its interesting. Seems a bit hard to get anywhere in it though. The sprites are a bit too small as well, I lost track of where I was a couple of times.
Simple game mechanics, but polished and feels good to play. Really slick presentation. Could do with some sound maybe. Nice job!
Pretty cool idea. Gameplay is a bit slow though. Graphics are pretty basic but they do the job. Nice job!
Very basic mechanics, but neat game. I like the dual world concept. Maybe could do with some more graphical polish, I feel like the art style isn't very cohesive, but otherwise simple and fun.
You had me at the title, to be honest. Really fun! I liked having a selection of levels to pick. The graphics are simple but effective. The bullet time feels a bit odd, like its just decreasing the FPS or something. But otherwise its great!
Very cool. One of the most original games I've seen so far. I saw this on the blog and thought it was neat, but the gameplay is fun too. Awesome graphical style.
I like it, the graphics are really trippy and cool. Neat music too.
Although these sorts of RPGs aren't quite my thing, I liked your atmosphere building with the text. The game is quite deep for saying you only had 48 hours to make it. Pretty cool!
A bit too basic for my liking, although I'm not really smart enough to know what your state machine is all about so maybe some of the technical impressiveness is lost on me. Could be made into something fun though!
Unfortunately I couldn't download it because Chrome picked it up as malware?
Cool game! Solid gameplay, and decent graphics and music. I think the 'doge' thing is a bit overplayed in general, but whatever floats your boat. Still though, fun stuff!
Considering the time limit I'm impressed. The atmosphere is really cool with the in-cockpit view, sort of claustrophobic but also serene at the same time. I like the cel-shaded style too.
Interesting take on the theme. Quite an neat idea having to balance the temperature. I found the gameplay itself a little too basic though, and sometimes I found myself waiting for black spheres to spawn, making it a bit boring at times. Pretty cool concept though.
Very simple game but very playable and feels good to control. I like your take on the theme.
Really polished presentation here. The graphics, the music, it all works and is very cohesive. Similar to Papers, Please of course, but it does do its own thing too. I'd love to see this expanded into a longer game with a bigger storyline.
Very unique and interesting concept. The presentation is nice and the ambient sounds give a good sense of mood. Nice job!
Neat idea. Quite a funny game. I like the music!
Cool concept for a game. I love the art and music, very slick. Maybe not the most intuitive game ever, could use a bit more in the way of tutorials and hints to guide the player along - but I understand you probably didn't have time for that. Once you do get to grips with it its a bit easy, as well. Otherwise this is a great job and I'd love to see it expanded upon.
Amusing game. I like the PEW PEW lasers. The short draw distance was a bit odd, but otherwise the graphics are good. Seemed to go a bit too fast to control very well, as well. Pretty good overall.
Very cool presentation all round. I like the painterly art style and the music. I feel like you die to the knight guys a bit too quickly, and when I died I couldn't find a way to restart? Maybe I'm missing something obvious, I dunno. Otherwise very cool.
Cool little game, I like the general concept. It'd be nice to see an extended version with more interesting/harder levels.
First of all I'm giving you a 5 for audio, because box. I wish I had more people to play with because this actually looks like a lot of fun. Cool stuff!
Clever mechanics. Seems a little bit Lemmings-ish, sort of. The simple presentation looked cool too. Very interesting stuff!
I'm ... confused. I know what the game is and everything I just don't know how it fits the theme at all? Or why someone would want to just directly port it?
Really cool ambience, with the music and the lighting and everything. And a neat concept too. I feel like the mouse look was a bit too sensitive but that could just be me.
Not bad. I like the atmosphere of the game, very claustrophobic and oppressive, with the music and everything. I had a similar problem where I mined gold but there was no indication of it - even the '0 of 314' counter wasn't increasing?
I like the idea, I've seen it on another game in this competition, but still very cool. Fits the theme cleverly. Nicely polished presentation too.
Absolutely stunning considering it was done in 3 days. Amazing graphics and slick presentation all round. And fun too! I'd love to see this expanded.
It's an ok game. Pretty nice graphics. Gameplay is a little lacking, but the general concept could be fun. Wasn't too offended by the stereotype humour but it did seem a bit, well, dumb, to be honest. Not bad overall.
I'm not really sure what to think about this? I played to the end to see where you were going with it, but I didn't really find it "fun" as such. I'm just kind of depressed now. I guess that's the point. Next time please make another game about wearing lots of hats and you have a gun that shoots tiny men, to cheer me up, thanks.
BEST GAME 5555555555555555555
Seems like an interesting base idea, but its a bit lacking in things to do at the moment. I like the aesthetic though.
Very cool take on the typical mine/digging style games during this competition. Reminds me of Dungeon Keeper. I'd love to see this game expanded upon.
Pretty cool. I like the simple polygon graphics and the general mood. It's kind of soothing in a way. Simple but fun strategic mechanics. Like it!
Cool game. Very Zelda-esque of course. Love the Gameboy aesthetics, and the mechanics are simple but fun.
Interesting art style. The audio seemed a bit too quiet. I love all the visual feedback you get when clicking on the fish things, makes it more satisfying somehow.
Cool game! Nice pixel art graphics and solid gameplay. I love these sorts of screen-by-screen exploration platformers, so I approve of this!
Nice game! A surprising amount of depth (no pun intended) for an LD game. Pretty fun stuff. I feel like the music didn't quite fit in with the game, but otherwise great!
Clever game, simple but fun. Overall its presented really well and the music is good. Gets pretty intense when its speeding up and you start panicking trying to find which block to dig. Nice job!
Nice game. Cool graphics, and the camera concept is interesting. Best soundtrack I've heard so far, as well.
The basic concept is ok, I feel like its a bit easy. Adding some more gameplay elements would be cool too. Otherwise its not bad!
Pretty cute, sorta-vaguely amusing. I wish there were a bigger variety of funny themes and responses, since its really the only thing this pseudo-game has going on really, lol.
The idea was pretty neat, having to wrap my head around platforming sideways is an interesting experience. The game isn't exactly a looker though, to put it politely, and honestly it kind of detracts from the experience a bit, its all a bit messy visually. It's a good effort though!
Amazing pixel art here, and great music. Gameplay is interesting. Took a bit of figuring out what to do, but its interesting enough to keep you playing. Maybe some more different stuff to do other than digging and talking would be nice? Otherwise great stuff, though.
Very artsy! Fantastic graphics and sound, obviously. It would have been nice if you could have added some more gamey elements to it, but that's just my personal preference. It is what it is, and what it is is a rather nice interactive experience. Nice job!
This is an interesting baseline for something, but right now it doesn't quite feel like a game yet. I like the glowy greenscreen effect though.
It's a neat idea, I like the fractal stylings going on. Its quite nice as just as visual plaything more than an actual game.
Nice job! Very relaxing. I actually like how the area is sectioned off into 5x5 blocks, it sort of gives a sense of exploration, as well as fitting it into the theme better. Also bonus points for letting the player define their own controls before the game starts, that was pretty slick.
Cool idea. The seperate camera when you go out into the maze was neat. The 3D graphics give the game a distinctive visual style as well. Good stuff!
Lovely art in this game. There's definitely a solid base for a good game here. As it stands its obviously unfinished, but what you have here has a lot of potential. Nice music as well!
Very polished game, great pixel art and audio. Fun Smash TV style gameplay. Good stuff.
Really cool concept and a clever use of the theme. Be nice too see the presentation fleshed out a bit more. Good stuff.
I like the combination of game styles on show here. Despite the game being relatively simple for a pinball game, the powerups and moving enemies add an extra layer onto it. The physics were pretty solid as well. Good stuff! I like the chipmusic on the 49 hour one as well btw.
Neat idea, I like your incorporation of the other theme while keeping with the single screen idea. While interesting the game devolves into a mindless clickfest rather quickly - I fear this may be a fundamental problem with the concept rather than a bad implementation. Maybe there's a way to make it more compelling? It's cool anyway.
Fantastic idea, love the presentation and the music is awesome. A few control issues with jumping, felt a bit unresponsive at times, but other than that, great stuff.
Not too bad, presentation is decent, gameplay is simple but fun enough. The turning felt kinda bad though, the way it starts slow and speeds up just makes it feel a bit heavy and clunky. Turning at a constant speed but making the environment harder to negotiate might have made for better gameplay. Pretty cool stuff anyway though.
Pretty good idea for a strategy game. It's a bit slow for my tastes though, although maybe my attention span isn't the best in the world. It'd be cool to see it expanded into something bigger, though!
As usual from you, quality stuff indeed. A deceptively simple idea, but surprisingly challenging. Nicely polished presentation.
I love the idea of an RPG slot-machine, thats a pretty cool concept. Good use of theme and a good sense of humour as well. Love it!
Very cool idea, nice take on the theme. Love the presentation - the lighting effects and stuff are really cool. Fun gameplay too, even if sometimes its a bit tricky to parse whats going on with all the platform changes, and the insta-deaths when you take too long are a bit confusing. Nice job though!
Oh man, you basically combined Knytt with Shadow of the Colossus. You hit on a fine combination of things there in my book. Excellent pixel art here, and great sense of atmosphere in general. It all just makes me wish it were a bit more fun to play. I'd be interested to try a version with more polished controls.
Interesting mood to the game, you nailed the arcadey feel but it also felt unique with its interesting visual style. Gameplay was very Joust-ish, and I liked the teleport feature. Pretty good stuff!
Cool game, I like the switching back and forth between two totally seperate games, that was an interesting premise. Some nicer textures would have been nice, but overall the graphics were ok considering it was your first foray into 3D. The first person snowman laughing was kinda funny as well.
Great game. Simple concept but well executed and really fun. I died more times than I care to admit! Nice pixel aesthetic too.
Really cool idea, very mind-bending. The scuffly stampy sounds of the minotaur getting louder as he gets closer added a certain intensity to the proceedings. I wish the player sprite was a bit clearer as its quite easy to lose where you are on the stage. Nice work though!
Excellent presentation with this game, love the graphical style, very cute. Decent gameplay too, reminded me of Thomas Was Alone a bit. Good stuff!
Pretty good shooter. Reminds me a lot of Crimsonland. I like the variety of enemies and combining powerups with a shop mechanic was interesting. Something about the feel of the gameplay wasn't quite right though, maybe the controls? I can't quite put my finger on it. Good job anyway though.
SinistraGames: Unity on the web has some issues with focusing and stuff, have you tried CTRL+F5 to do a hard refresh? And make sure you're clicked into the actual game window, as well.
herofresh: Sorry! That was an oversight on our part. We also don't have a lot of time to add things like key rebindings etc. Also the game is supposed to be small, thats the whole point. Try the zoom key!
Thanks for the great feedback everyone! We're already working on an improved post-compo version with better jumping and tweaked map design. We've also added a Windows exe of the current version, for those having trouble with the web version.
bushmango: There are two of us. One artist/musician (me) and one programmer.
Cute little puzzler. Very Sokoban-esque, although the double player thing was a neat twist. Nice presentation too, the simple 3D graphics have a nice charm. Nice work!
How could I not try a game called Heer Dunter! Awesomely silly, I like your overly literal take on the theme and the oddly unfitting techno music. Quite difficult and slightly frustrating to actually play, but still, funny stuff.
Fun little twinstick shooter, very solid controls. I like the idea of tying it into the music, although it doesn't feel incredibly obvious that thats whats happening when you play it. Good job though anyway!
Cute game. Pretty good twinstick shooter gameplay, the explosions in particularly made it feel quite satisfying. Dialogue was quite amusing as well. Good stuff!
Neat game, feels pretty good to play, though the collision with platforms felt a bit off (I got stuck a couple of times too). Nice pixel art. I like how you portrayed a message with gameplay, as well, that's pretty clever.
Props for adding multiplayer, unfortunately there didn't seem to be anyone else on when I tried it, but it seems like the game would be improved a lot by it. It's a bit bare-bones, but its a good start. Excellent pixel art, and I like the epic vocal sound effects.
Neat game, I am a Grumpy McNoFriends so I couldn't experience it properly, but what I tried seemed pretty awesome. Excellent presentation, very polished. The train was really cool.
This idea is so cool. It feels like one of those ideas that should have been a popular arcade game in the 80s but somehow no-one thought of it. Nice use of the theme as well. Not a fan of the graphics unfortunately, but the concept more than makes up for it.
Great sense of mood, the alien popping out at me made me jump a bit. Nice pixel art, and great audio work too.
I like it! Pretty funny idea. Nice take on the theme. Quite well polished for what it is, as well.
Cool idea, really nice graphics, love the lighting effects, its almost a shame I couldn't get a closer look at them. Still the crazy aspect ratio is an interesting choice. Good sense of atmosphere too, nice job.
This was actually really cool. I'm surprised how tense you managed to make being chased down by a red square. Having to deal with multiple characters at once was a neat challenge as well. The visuals and musics were cool too.
Fantastic graphical style in this one! Love the transitional effects, especially the walls folding up from behind. I think the grid-based orthagonal movement doesn't do the combat any favours, it feels a tad clunky, and I wish the attacks had more punch to them. Some hit sounds would have been nice. Otherwise though, really well done.
Some neat ideas with this one, I liked having to remember keys from previous stages, pretty clever. I like the classical-ish chiptune music. Some iffy platform controls with the collisions and whatnot, but otherwise great.
Cool game. Great twist on a breakout concept. Kind of hurt my brain a bit trying to get the hang of it. Nice job!
Really cool idea for a game, combining a tile-based puzzler with a deathmatch shooty game is genius. Graphics are simple but effective, and the music is neat as well. Nice job!
Kind of a neat mood to the game, sort of vectory and minimalistic. I couldn't really figure out what I was meant to be doing though, since everything moves randomly and instantly its pretty hard to actually avoid stuff. Could be good with a bit more work though.
Since I'm basically a hermit I couldn't really try this game to its fullest extent. But it seems to be quite well-executed and satisfying to play. I love the graphical presentation, you can't go wrong with chunky diagonal text.
Bloody genius. I've seen slightly RPG-ey takes on pinball before but nothing quite like this. Love it. Fun to play, and nice presentation too. Only problem is it doesn't really follow the theme, but otherwise excellent!
Neat game. Chopping up the enemies feels satisfying. You somehow made the player square seem like a ninja without actually using any graphics.
Simple idea that works surprisngly well. The physics make it satisfying to play. The cinema screen thing is a neat visual style. I wish I could restart the game quicker when I die (does it really need to show the MPAA-style warning every time?) Otherwise good stuff.
Great concept! Nice retroey style graphics as well, has a certain ZX Spectrumy vibe to it. Overall very polished and fun.
This is really cool. Love the presentation. The guitar plucking sounds when you drag over the tiles are awesome, they make swiping them more fun than it has any right to be. Would make for quite a good mobile game I think.
Neat little puzzle idea, I wish the words went by a bit faster though. Pretty cool though.
Awesome game. I've seen a few games use the 'transforming levels' idea and this is one of the best I've seen. Nice graphics and music too. Bonus points for the level editor!
Excellent polished presentation all round with nice graphics and music. I like the animations of the driller guy. Solid gameplay idea too. Nice work all round really.
Oh man, this game is pretty cool. Really tense atmosphere, love the lighting effects and the field of view blocking. Reminds me of Teleglitch if you ever played that. The way you use darkness to hide the level transitions is a stroke of genius, it really makes it feel like you're lost and the walls are moving around you. Which, I guess they literally are. The monsters maybe kill you a little TOO quickly though. Good job anyway.
My concentration span generally isn't long enough for text adventure games but this was pretty cute. Loving the storybook aesthetic on show here , and the writing is good too. Nice job!
Nice graphical effects. A bit too hard for my liking though. Jumping was a little unresponsive and stiff. Good stuff though!
The visual style is really simple but really nice. Quite an interesting idea too, especially the 3D nature of it, and having to keep in mind all the different sides of the shape at once. I would have to repeat the concern about the lack of being able to move the camera angles, but I know you had limited time and you can't necessarily do every feature. Cool stuff anyway.
Very simple game, but its fun enough. The fact its in Javascript is pretty cool. I didn't quite see the point in having a specific run button instead of just making the player that fast anyway, but otherwise good stuff.
Pretty cool idea, reminds me various Spectrum/C64 games that I can't quite think of right now. Graphics are pretty simple but they work well for this game I think. Gameplay is generally fun but it gets a bit repetitive, it'd be cool to see an extended version with some gameplay twists.
Cool idea, mixing DDR rhythm gameplay with a sort of fighting game narrative. I like the graphic style as well. I wish there was more feedback when hitting the buttons, I never know if I'm getting it right. At least a little visual flourish around the actual arrows to indicate a correct key press would have been good. Cool though!
Excellent game! Difficult, but in that good, maddening way that makes you want to keep trying. I love the mood of the game, with the music and the robotic voice. Cool stuff.
Somehow you managed to make filling a progress bar somewhat entertaining, and then the twist. Awesome!
Cool idea for a puzzle game, bit tricky to figure out what to do though. The withdrawal where he only sees computers was darkly amusing. Really nice pixel art as well! Good job.
Awesome stuff! Very polished and professional. I like the powerups, particularly the one that extends your play area is pretty well done. My collision glitched out at times and the ball flew backwards into my own goal, but otherwise a cool game.
Pretty simple idea, but well executed. Very polished. Feels a lot like a mobile game.
Fun little twin-stick shooter, gameplay was fine, although I personally really didn't like the having to reload - I'm not sure it suits this sort of game very well. Graphics were decent. I liked the fact you had multiple music tracks, even if they were a bit of a tour of Toxic Biohazard's presets. (no worries, I'm guilty of it too!)
I like pinball games, I've seen a couple this time around, I guess it fits the theme quite well. I like the cute presentation, and its a good execution of a pinball concept. The ball physics are a bit floaty and slow, but other than that, good stuff.
The game has a really cool mood to it, the visuals and audio are excellent. Gameplay-wise its a cool concept, I just kind of wish there was more agency involved in how everything plays out, but you can only do so much in the time limit I guess. Nice work, anyway.
Quite a fun little platformer, though quite challenging. The teleportation stuff was neat. I like the player thing's running animation. Decent graphics in general really. Cool stuff!
Nice. I really like your take on the theme. Played through it twice for the alternate path. Pretty funny stuff!
Love the intro sequence with the voiceover. Quite impressive work for 3 days, the art is fantastic and the gameplay is solid. I wish the fighting had a bit more feedback to it, but other than that, great stuff.
Decent game, though the controls of the player character are a bit too slippery for my tastes. I like the gradual revealing of the game mechanics, though.
A simple game but with some cool gameplay ideas. It's cool that you do a lot with such a basic concept. I thought the clicking on the ball at the end was an interesting twist. I found the text narration a little long-winded. Good stuff though!
Very atmospheric game, a good feeling of tension and claustrophobia. Graphics and sound are simple, but add to the mood a lot. Quite a challenge! Fun stuff.
Good game, nice spritework on the robot guy. Time limit is quite harsh, though. Fun though!
Oddly compelling stuff. I like the tower defense element to it, so that there's a point to it other than a number going up. Cool game.
Cool twist on a breakout concept. I like the idea of the bat being on a curve, and being able to place walls was pretty clever too. Could do with a bit more audiovisual polish maybe, but certainly some good ideas here.
Since I'm a billy no-mates I couldn't really test this game to its fullest, but it seems really fun. The graphics are excellent, the feel of the game is pretty satisfying. The whole mood of the game is just intense and action-packed. Good stuff.
I'm not sure if I completed the game after lighting the big torch or if I went totally wrong, but cool game anyway. Quite an atmospheric experience, the lighting effects are good. Controls felt a bit sticky, I feel like I should have been able to go diagonally but couldn't. Overall cool stuff though.
Interesting idea. Combining Pipemania with a mining setting is neat! Decent graphics too. Some more direct control over the character would be cool. Nice job anyway.
There's definitely some potential here, despite some bugs and stuff the controls feel quite fluid, and I like some of your visual effects like kicking up dust and the screen shake. You could make this into a cool game.
Nice idea, definitely something that could be built on. Controls are a bit hit and miss, and its a bit difficult to get very far, but lots of potential here.
Cool stuff. Graphics were quite nicely done, and the controls generally felt tight. Maybe could have done with checkpoints so you don't have to go right back if you mess up, but the game isn't too hard anyway so its not that big of a deal. Nice job!
Really awesome atmosphere in this game, the graphics and audio fit together really nicely to make a solid sense of mood. I had fun exploring the level, and I like how the specific interior areas get revealed as you enter them. Good stuff!
Very cool idea. Could use a lot more presentational polish and gameplay tweaks though, I think the player control is a bit slow, and transitioning between the channels takes a little bit too long. Really cool take on the theme though.
Nice game! I thought it was a pretty basic if vaguely competent shooter at first, but then I found all the weapon upgrades and carrot farming stuff. Pretty neat! Gets quite intense as you get further. I like the constant ratcheting up of the action and trying to keep pace with the deluge of snowmen. I also liked that other snowmen go after dropped carrots, I thought that was a neat touch. Good stuff.
Cool game! Took me a sec to understand it, but the idea is pretty clever. I never did beat the boss though. :(
Pretty atmospheric game, I like the ambient sound effects and such. Graphics are well made. Reminds me of a 2D version of Gone Home. I feel like it lacked direction, though. I spent more time being completely lost and not knowing what to do than making progress. Pretty cool stuff though.
Nice little idea, surprisingly tricky. Could do with a lot more polish, the graphics are kinda basic and the ball glitched a few times and got stuck in walls. Lots of potential here though.
I liked the presentation of this, the graphics are minimalistic but neat, the chromatic abberation effect on the screen looks cool, and I enjoyed the slow motion effects when getting near a ball. Gameplay was ok, though pretty much as soon as the red ball appears it just got stuck on me and killed me. Maybe the player could move faster, but spawn more balls more quickly to balance it out? Good job though.
I like it! Pretty funny dialogue, and nice graphics. I got sacked though, I'm not sure if I did something wrong or if thats just how the game goes. It'd be cool to see it extended into a full game.
Neat little game, I liked the idea of spawning more platforms as you land, so that game unfolds differently each time. Player movement was a bit too slow. Good job though!
Nice to see some pinball games in Ludum Dare this time around. Reminds me of the Amiga days playing Pinball Fantasies and whatnot. Pretty good stuff. Graphics and sounds are decent, ball physics are a bit slow and floaty. Cool game though!
This is awesome! I've been playing Payday2 lately and this almost seems like a mini 2D pixel art version of that. The gameplay is cool, I like how the intensity ratchets up with the extra cops coming in, and how the bombs destroy walls. Nice music too. Good stuff all round.
It looks lovely, but I wish there was more to actually do. I know you can select your item and stuff, and upgrade the dungeon, but it still ultimately results in hitting space a whole lot. Still though, its a decent base to build upon.
I'm not really sure what I was supposed to be doing in this game, but its a cool audio/visual experience at least. Nice presentation and a good sense of atmosphere. Maybe a bit more explanation on things would be nice? Good stuff though.
This is by far the most epic soundtrack I've heard so far this Ludum Dare. Nice job! The seasons mechanic is pretty clever as well. Fun stuff.
Interesting idea. Its almost like Surgeon Simulator meets Cooking Mama. Nicely done graphics and physics. Good job!
I only wanted to try this out for a couple of minutes and here I am 15 minutes later. Why is watching numbers going up so addictive? I know this isn't the most original game out there but I really like the graphical presentation of it.
Cool stuff! Nice art, and I liked the educational aspects of it, quite refreshing.
This is pretty cool, I like the weird music and the colourful visuals, makes for quite a trippy mood. The gameplay reminds me a lot of a game called Sensitive on the C64, which had a similar 'move over falling tiles' concept, so it also had like a bonus nostalgia feeling for me. Pretty cool!
Couldn't really play it properly due to not having a second player but the idea is really cool. The dynamic terrain is well done, if a bit heavy on the framerate at times. Seems to be quite fun to play, the jetpack and guns being quite satisfying to use.
Awesome art! The gameplay is decent enough, but its kind of lacking in something, though I'm not quite sure what. Maybe it needs more interesting interactions with the platforms and enemy types or something. Not bad though overall.
Amusing game. Simple concept but works pretty well. Nice use of the old CGA style palette, perhaps you should have kept the resolution at 320x200 for added authenticity! Good stuff overall.
Fantastic presentation, and very cool from a technical standpoint, with the terraforming stuff. The gameplay was a little obscure, like I'm not sure what the requirements for damaging the towers actually were, and I'm not good enough at maths to really judge what the functions will do to the landscape. But otherwise very cool!
Neat game. The narrative is quite well done and funny. Nice use of the speech synth on the robot. Nice graphics too! The gameplay is a bit slow and not that interesting unfortunately, though I understand you can't do everything in the time limit. For the full version you're doing, hopefully the platforming can be a bit more exciting. Overall a good entry!
Cool idea. It's simple but pretty fun. I didn't realise ducks were such badasses.
Cool game. Certainly picked up on the Nidhogg influence. Would be cool to have multiple rooms of the house to fight through, though you can only do so much in the time I suppose. Excellent presentation and solid gameplay. Good stuff!
Cool game. Nice art and music, and solid controls too. Might have been better with a life bar or at least more checkpoints. Good stuff!
Excellent graphics, extremely polished. Great sense of atmosphere. Very cool mechanics as well. Nice job!
Cool game! Excellent pixel art. Gameplay is a very cool idea and quite satisfying when you get it right. It's a bit tricky to get yourself lined up right, and the enemies charge at you too fast. The tutorial text at the start probably shouldn't be covered up by the trees as well. Otherwise great job.
Very polished and cool game. Very Taito. Some of the controls were a bit fiddly, but otherwise very good stuff!
Simple but fun idea, kind of QWOP mixed with Typing of the Dead, or something? Funny presentation too. I imagine it would be pretty fun with multiple people.
Really cool game. Reminds me of a match 3 type game, only more interesting, and offers a lot more strategic depth with lots of opportunity to plan ahead. Excellent presentation, slick graphic style and neat ambient sounds. Very cool.
Interesting mechanic. I found it difficult to actually pull off a kill though, the timing of it is quite tricky. Those levitating cubes-o-death are pretty brutal. I'd have liked a mouse invert option. Neat game overall!
I can definitely see the Freedom Planet influences in the gameplay and character design. No bad thing mind you, that's a great game. Controls are pretty solid. Would be cool to see the graphics fleshed out into something more complete looking.
Great idea! Really cool take on a Typing of the Dead type concept. My only complaint is its slightly awkward typing one handed while aiming with the mouse.
Really cool game, very atmospheric, great sense of mood. Both graphics and sound are spot on. Gameplay is good too, though I feel like you run out of power a bit too quickly and it gets a bit annoying waiting to recharge. Maybe some recharging stations scattered around would be good? Still, really good game overall.
Awesome game. Very polished presentation. The combat is really satisfying! Would love to see a finished version with more levels.
Awesome visuals, loving the high-contrast style. Perhaps a bit shallow and easy in the gameplay department, though. Still impressive stuff!
Very polished. Loving the cutesy art style. At first I didn't know I was meant to be running the guys over, some sort of brief explanation would have probably been good. Cool stuff though!
Very polished game as usual from you guys. The asynchronous multiplayer stuff is clever, and ambitious for a jam game. Fun stuff indeed!
Not a bad start for a game, I wish there was a little more to it, though. It could do with some sort of adversary, be it police guys that chase you, or a time limit, just something to flesh the game about a bit more.
Fun idea. Never thought I'd be smiting my foes with a lemon stuck on a fish stuck on a stick. Nice graphics considering the time limit you had. I wish the combat had a bit more depth to it. Otherwise good work!
Next time I want some bacon I'm going to have to try that.
Game was better than I expected, great dark humour and oddly satisfying to play.
Being a Grumpy McNofriends I couldn't really experience this game to its fullest extent, but its a really interesting idea. Nice art direction too.
Really cool idea. Took me a minute to figure out but eventually I did. Neat take on an artillery concept, having to get as near as possible without hitting. Nice graphics and audio too.
Neat little game. Nice concept overall, using a yoyo as a weapon is cool. It's quite tricky and the yoyo doesn't always seem to go quite where you want it to, but its quite satisfying, especially when you get multiple people in quick succession. As far as graphics go, maybe you should try teaming up with an artist or something. I've found the programmer/artist team combo seems to work ok for our projects.
I don't usually go for these visual novel type of games, but the art style in this is really cool! Definitely a great sense of mood in this game. Nice writing too.
Pretty fun game! I was having flashbacks of knocking the bad guys off in Lethal Lava Land from Mario 64! Gameplay and controls are solid and feel great. Interesting concept too. I like you have different options for knocking enemies off the edge. Fun stuff.
Nice sense of mood. Simple graphics but they manage to look pretty cool with the interesting use of perspective and such. Gameplay is decent, though I think using the coffee on enemies could have done with some more feedback, was never quite sure if it was doing anything. Nice job overall though.
Great graphics! Gameplay is alright, though I don't see how the different letters factor into it, unless I'm missing something? Would be cool to see a more complete version with some more fleshed out mechanics.
Cool idea, I like the variety of weapons on offer. I think the pace of the game is a bit slow and the constant knockbacks don't really help. Also despite the different weapons, the gameplay isn't quite varied enough to keep things interesting while grinding. The graphics are quite nice and the music is pretty chill. Definitely a good entry overall, has a lot of potential.
Actually kind of a neat idea controlling two rockets at once to hit the enemies with. Graphics are pretty basic but have quite a nice mood to them. Simple game but surprisingly fun.
Nice minimalist theme and interesting gameplay concepts. Kind of reminds me of BIT.TRIP Void a bit. I would say that it'd be nice if the screen scrolled faster, because if you're moving you can see very far ahead. It's also a bit obscure to know what to do, so more explanation in the game would be good too. Cool stuff anyway!
Nice sense of mood in this game. Love the painterly art style and the music. Gameplay is functional but a bit repetitive. Overall though, good work!
Awesomely polished game. Solid controls, and very cool concept too. Making the turrets shoot eachother was satisfying!
Not bad. An RPG is pretty ambitious for Ludum Dare! I like the inventive elemental stuff instead of just the usual fire, lightning, ice etc. The pacing of the battles is a bit too slow in my opinion. Good job overall!
I'm not sure what I just played but I'm pretty sure it was incredible. Seriously though I'm actually impressed at the amount of stuff in the game. Nice job!
Neat idea. I think the game needs more polish, but using black holes as a weapon is a cool concept. I wish the holes had physics that suck enemies in or make them orbit or something rather than just being a stationary instadeath thing. The fact that you're digging dirt to get 'black hole ammo' seems a bit odd to me. Like I get that its a video game and doesn't necessarily have to make sense, but I'm not sure how the digging dirt thing really helps the gameplay. It just seems like two different game concepts stuck together. A game just focusing on making black holes would have been fine I think. Graphics are fine, I found the weird running animation on the character oddly amusing. Not bad overall!
Cool game! Very nice presentation, great graphics and music. The interface maybe could be a bit more intuitive. Would love to see a more polished version.
Cool game! Interesting use of stealth mechanics in a 2D platformer. Good presentation, and responsive controls. Nice work.
Nice game! Very interesting puzzle gameplay. Nice graphic style too. Would love to see a bigger version.
Cool game! Pretty funny idea. Makes for some neat puzzle gameplay too. Graphics remind me of an Amiga game, with the limited colours and rainbow gradient backgrounds, which is nice. Good stuff overall!
Nice game. Very slick presentation. The combination of 2D sprites and 3D environments works pretty well, though I think the wall textures could be redone a bit to look more like the sprites. Gameplay is fun, knocking the monsters off the edge is satisfying, and using the blanket as a parachute when jumping is a cute idea too. Very cool game!
Mechs are always good for a laugh. I like the retro 80s aesthetic with the title screen and stuff. Pretty cool. Was difficult to distinguish the civilians from the bad guys though.
Great game all round. Solid presentation, music and gameplay. The jam effect is actually really impressive.
Not a bad game! Nice spritework and music. Backgrounds are ok but a bit basic. Controls are solid too. I feel like the theme could have been worked into the gameplay better, as even though you have a TV remote it still just acts like a gun (maybe pause/rewind functions or something would be neat!) Anyway, good job overall.
Cool idea for a game. Turning the soldier guys to my side is quite satisfying. I like that my gun sounds like both a BFG9000 and an Arch-Vile.
Nice idea for a game. It's quite Titan Soulsy, but also does its own thing, which is cool. It really needs more explanation of what to do as it took me a bit to figure it out. Also the controller/keyboard thing was a minor annoyance, though these things happen under such a time limit so its understandable. Cool game overall though!
Cool concept, but a bit overly difficult. Once an enemy is active they seem to shoot and kill you very quickly, even from the other side of the level. Nice simple pixel art and music create a cool sense of mood for the game. Solid entry overall.
Cool idea. Very difficult though. Great pixel art and awesome soundtrack. The spikes blend in to the background a bit too much, and I wish there were more checkpoints. It's also not obvious that your possession power can go through walls, maybe an indicator appearing over an enemy that you can possess would be good. Very solid entry overall though.
Awesome! It's about time Blast Corps made a comeback. Really fun mechanics and great presentation all round!
Interesting mechanic for a game, though once you've sussed it out its quite easy if you just keep an eye on all the teddies until one of them moves. It's still really cool though. Would be nice if you added some spooky ambient sounds as well.
Good game. Very atmospheric, and nice concept. It's a bit dark outside of the light around the player to see the platforms you're jumping to very well. Maybe a flashlight or a bigger light radius around the player would have been good? More checkpoints too would have been good. Otherwise very cool stuff!
Interesting mood here, and I like the low-poly 3D. Love the ending, was a neat twist. It would have been cool if the "unconventional weapon" could have been used as part of the game itself. I dunno, just would have fit the theme better I think. Oh, I also liked the multiplier for flying lower, thats a nice risk-reward mechanic. Good stuff.
Cool idea. Very AaaaaAAaaa-ish. But still has its own concept, which is nice. Would love to see this polished up with some sounds and more destruction effects!
Cool game! The panchinko game on the side is a neat idea. Graphics are ok as well. The controls are a little sluggish and unresponsive. Definitely lots of potential here though.
Cool game! Amazing graphics, even though everything is a bit small and its sometimes difficult to distinguish stuff and I had trouble finding where I was sometimes. Gameplay is fun though, having to fight against the lice replicating around is a neat idea. Combining cursor keys with mouse control isn't a great idea for anyone right-handed and is super awkward, unfortunately. Otherwise the game is fun and very slick overall.
Cool game. Nice character/enemy design, particularly the animations. Pretty neat take on the theme too.
Love the presentation, graphics and music are all great. As for gameplay, you have a good basic idea but its a bit frustrating to play. Deaths happen too quickly, and it takes too long to get back into the game when you do die. Being able to aim the souls in a non-orthogonal direction would have been good too. I really like the teleport though. Good stuff overall.
Cute idea. I like music-based games and this was an interesting take on it. Would have been cool if the robots appeared in order to play a tune, rather than just randomness. Good stuff though!
Very cool game, very slick. Excellent art and sound. Game is simple but well executed. I like the risk/reward aspect where you can attack but you fall faster until you put your umbrella back up. Seems like it would be a candidate for a good mobile game. Cool stuff!
Pretty cool game! The 'unconventional weapon' is pretty funny. Liked the randomly on-fire bears. Controls were decent and the graphics, while a bit simple, are clear and functional. Nice job!
Not a bad platformer. Controls are pretty responsive. It would have been cool if the Rubik's cube was used in the gameplay itself a bit more, like you have to solve the Rubik's cube before you can throw it (ok maybe that's a bit overboard) or maybe the different coloured sides of the cube could mean something? Something to think about maybe. Still, good job overall.
Cute game! Was strangely satisfying to dig through the pink stuff. I like the music too. My only complaints were already addressed so I'll just say nice job!
Cool game! Nice presentation, I'm particularly liking the pixel art graphics and the ambient music. Found the jumping control to be a bit fiddly. Good stuff overall though.
Not a bad idea actually, having to knock enemies off the bottom of the level is sorta fun. It's definitely too slow as other people have pointed out. Graphics are ok, but a bit dull. Still though I like the general idea and it'd be cool to see a tweaked version. In future I'd recommend not using github to host your file, its a bit obscure to find how to download from it.
Interesting take on the theme. I'm not really big on politics myself and so a lot of the jokes go over my head, but its a neat game and quite unique. Nice artwork of the politicians too.
Telefragging! How did I not think of this! I loved telefragging people in games like Quake and UT so this is pretty awesome. Telefragging people is fun, and its nice that you use it as both a combat and a platforming tool. The graphics are pretty slick, even though the models are pretty basic the lighting effects and such are nice, and the whole thing has a nice mood to it. Very cool game.
Very clever game. Cool art style, nice gameplay concept. Just a really charming game.
Quirky idea for a game. Nice work on the sprites. Controls are a bit off, it keeps messing up while trying to go diagonally for me. Otherwise not bad!
This is awesome. Great concept, somehow you made rock paper scissors fun! Amazing presentation too, with great pixel art (nice use of god rays on the sun too) and music. Fantastic game overall.
Cool idea. Decent graphics. Quite difficult though, the harmony counter drops really quickly. Found the constant sine wave noise a little grating, even when the harmonies were on track. Maybe some more varieties of sound would have been nice. Interesting game though!
Cool art direction, very moody and atmospheric, with the spooky lighting and everything. The hug leap is a fun weapon even though I messed up a lot. Good stuff!
I like the reflective effects and the variety of ammo types. Gameplay is alright, though I feel like its a bit shallow. Maybe it could use some more interesting enemy types or something? Pretty good game overall though!
Couldn't try this in multiplayer sadly, so I couldn't play it to its fullest extent. Seems like a cool game, graphics are simple but quite slick, and an interesting weapon indeed. It seems like its a bit hard to judge the angle of the eye shooting, there's no real indication of where its going to go. Perhaps making it into a gamepad game, so that multiple players can use analog sticks to aim the eyes, would be a better option. Good stuff overall.
Fun little game. I like the variety of enemies, the duel sections and the cute sense of style. Really solid entry!
I got to about 300 before getting a bit bored, but still a good game and a cool idea. Very nice graphics and solidly put together. Nice job!
Certainly very atmospheric, but I'm afraid the game is too obtuse for my liking. Couldn't really get anywhere with it. And as someone else pointed out, I found it annoying to have to click Submit every time, I think the Enter key should have been enough. Seems like it could be interesting, but its just not for me I'm afraid.
Fun idea! Nicely polished with good graphics and music. Deceptively tricky gameplay.
Pretty cool idea! Controls are ok and it plays alright, though as other people have said your 'past self' seems to have a mind of its own sometimes. Nice job overall.
Nice presentation and music! Very interesting central concept. It could use a bit of work on the block-throwing controls maybe, as I found dragging the blocks up and clicking on the arrow to be a tad fiddly. Good stuff though.
Messing with the star and swinging the little planet around is really satisfying for some reason! The difficulty is pretty brutal though. Cool game.
Since I'm a Billy No-Mates I didn't really get chance to test this properly, but the idea seems really fun.
PS. I, too, took great pleasure in mashing space bar constantly.
I think this is an idea with some potential, but I think it needs polish to be truly good. The tile swapping is neat, but I didn't really know what I was meant to be doing with it, can I use it offensively? Or is it just to mess around with the world itself? A good start though!
Funny idea, interesting reversal of the usual setup. Game is well executed too, the shooting is satisfying, the controls are solid, and the graphics and blood effects are pretty great. Nice music too. Good stuff!
I think this game has a lot of potential and looks great, but the controls aren't very intuitive at all. Needs a bit of work, but a good start so far.
I'll have to remember to try this next time the back garden needs mowing!
Cute game though, very polished, and quite amusing. Good stuff!
I laughed, I cried, I pooped
Awesome! Probably the best game I've played so far. Love the concept. I find it maddeningly difficult, but its addictive. Brilliant music too!
Very cool game. Impressed at the size of the map, and the variety of music. Interesting weapons too, though some seem to rely too much on hoping they're go in the right direction for my liking. Good stuff!
Really neat idea for a game. Having to do homework too was a nice twist. Overall simple gameplay but nicely polished. Apparently I would make a crappy game reviewer!
Quite a basic game but pretty fun, and very polished and well executed for what it is. Cool take on the theme as well. I haven't managed to win yet, but I'll give it another go.
Cool puzzle mechanics, seems simple enough but becomes deceptive challenging. Nice presentation too!
Awesome job! Great presentation! Gameplay is a bit shallow maybe, but the visuals and sound make up for it a lot. Love the Machinae Supremacy style soundtrack.
Great use of the theme. Awesome pixel art and just great presentation overall. Good job.
OH YEAH!
(you get an extra point in Audio from me for that btw)
Cool little game. The mechanics are really simple but deceptively challenging. Pretty fun stuff!
Great game! Simple gameplay but fun. Extremely polished presentation. Could easily be a proper sellable game. Nice job!
Awesome game! A fun twist on the Snake idea. Great pixel art as well.
Cool idea! I don't think I've ever seen a turn-based puzzle platformer. You've crammed a lot of mechanics for a game with only two buttons, by using the environment to give different abilities, which is interesting to me. Cute graphics and a nice soundtrack too.
Great take on the plant growing game. Certainly the most thematically interesting one, the contrast of nature in a manmade environment was cool. Love the timelapse style of the background. Awesome work overall.
Neat mechanics, interesting fusion of a Pacman style arcade game with puzzle elements. Cool presentation as well, maybe tone down the bloom effects a little? They seem a bit overblown at times. Nice colour choices though. Fun stuff!
Cute little game. Seen a few of these tree growing games, this is a good example. Simple mechanics, easy to pick up and play, very smooth controls. The tree graphics are well done too.
Awesome game. Love the art style, the animation of the plant growing is excellent. Definitely the best 'endless runner' style game I've seen so far.
Fun game! Nice to see some Katamari style action going on in the 'growing' theme. The titles at the end are great. The control felt a bit too heavy, I kept wishing the snowball was a bit more responsive. But fun stuff overall.
Interesting puzzle gameplay. Deceptively simple, its harder than it seems at first. Nice use of the theme.
Fun stuff! Looks great and controls are spot on. The music getting slower and faster adds to the frantic and mindscrewy nature of the game. Nice job!
Very polished game with a lot going on. I like the presentation, you nailed the Risk of Rain aesthetic pretty well. Having different character classes is cool too.
Excellent mood in this game. Very chill. Love the minimalist graphics and music. Gameplay is paced well and matches the presentation in a nice way too. A minor gripe I have is the colour choices are a bit harsh in the beginning of the game, the roots and some of the rocks contrast a little unpleasantly with the background. This is less of a problem later on as the background darkens, though. Good work overall.
This is great! Awesome sense of atmosphere. The reload mechanic is interesting and adds a sense of panic when enemies come after you. The dissonant soundtrack is a nice touch too. Have you ever played an Amiga game called Behind The Iron Gate? This reminds me a lot of that.
Fun game. A surprisingly expansive game area considering the time limit. Enjoyed the various physics effects, especially knocking trees out of the way. There's something satisfying about that considering how many video game trees in general tend to stop cars dead in their tracks. Great soundtrack too!
Neat idea for a game, presentation is pretty clean and nice. As people have said, the sound effects are a bit abrasive, but thats a minor gripe thats easily fixed. Would like to see a single player mode.
This is awesome. Nice art style and solid gameplay. It's very One Finger Death Punch, although I like that you added player movement into the equation too.
Great take on the theme, a clever way of getting around the two button limit, even if it does get a little tiresome sometimes. Wonderful audio atmosphere!
I actually really like this. Very simple, but the ever increasing speed and keeping up with counting the trailers and keeping up with the correct amount is really fun. I liked that the music gets faster and faster too. I think it needs more indication of which stack on the ship is the 'current' one, more than just the crane position, like an arrow or something. Just to make things a bit easier to track.
Gorgeous pixel art and very polished presentation over all. Gameplay is well done, and it has great beard physics. I don't think I've ever praised a game on its beard physics before, that's a new one.
Love the voxel graphics, great presentation overall. Wish there was a bit more player agency in the gameplay. There's not a lot you can do before more tesla coils are built. Not bad though!
Simple but fun little game, very accessible. Nice sense of aesthetics with pleasant colour choices. Good job!
Pretty experimental, but cool. Very chill. The tree's talking was cute. It did crash for me unfortunately, I guess because of Unity's WebGL stuff still being a bit wonky. Oh well, good stuff anyway.
Cool game! Very cute and polished. It took me a while to see where I was as the character starts out so small and relatively indistinct from the background. Also it would have been better if you dropped the two buttons theme and just went with growing, as the two button controls are a little confusing and don't really improve anything. Good stuff though.
Fantastic art style! Music is awesome too. Really great experience. Controls are a bit fiddly, and also felt like they were backwards, as plane controls are typically inverted up/down, so that should probably be an option or something. Great work overall.
Amusing little game. Controls weren't immediately obvious. After working it out though it was pretty fun. Interesting use of the two button theme.
This is pretty good! I like the effort put into the narrative. I like the dystopian future style. The gameplay is well paced, its nice that the new features are introduced over time. Working out which direction to press when walking downwards was a little confusing, but I suppose thats part of the difficulty of it. Good stuff!
Great concept! I've seen a lot of these games where you're fighting enemies coming from the left and right, but the way you combined projectile attacking and movement makes it pretty interesting. The obstacles make for a neat addition too. Nice presentation as well. Good work.
Nice game, love the presentation. Interesting use of the second button to switch between 'modes', also the block creation stuff was a neat alternative to just having a jump button. The graphic style reminds me a lot of an indie rhythm/platformer game called 140. Not a bad thing at all, it has a cool look to it.
Fun game. It's a bit tricky to control at times, seems a bit too easy to flip over. Maybe add more weight to the car? Also the camera is a bit too zoomed in on the car. Otherwise its pretty good for a first time using UE4.
Some nice twists on the two button fighter idea here. I like the element of verticality to it. The progression system is interesting, especially building up the settlement in the background. Controls were a bit sluggish though. Might be good to reduce the delay between attacks and make the enemies stronger to balance it out, might make for more lively gameplay. Good work overall though.
Decent game. Voice acting is amusing. It's an interesting idea, and I like the way you implemented the difficulty levels by 'raising the bar'. It seems like you don't get enough time to react when a boom box appears, and it always seems to kill one of the goblins. Maybe I'm just bad at it though.
Great job with the C64 stylings on this. It's pretty effective! You even got the music right! The game is pretty fun with interesting mechanics, though I found the controls a bit slow and weird to get to grips with. I think its the lack of feedback of exactly which direction the plane is going, but then a C64 wouldn't have been able to do smooth rotation very easily, so its sort of understandable in this case. Nice work overall though!
Quite a fun game, pretty challenging. The physics and sound effects are amusing, and the vine graphics are decently done. I take it you've played Grow Home? It's extremely reminiscent of it. Thats's not a bad thing at all though!
Neat game. The quirky way the ship controls was actually quite interesting. Not bad at all!
Great game. I like the guy over the radio. Graphics aren't the best but they're functional. The aliens evolving is pretty cool. Reminds me a lot of Alien Breed from the Amiga. Fun stuff!
Cool game! Nice pixel art, good use of the theme, great music too. More responsive controls are needed though, I feel like sometimes I didn't jump when I wanted to. Nice work overall though!
Cool concept. I liked the idea of the little hacking minigames, gave the game sort of a Warioware feel. The actual game reminds me a lot of the hacking in Deus Ex Human Revolution, which is cool. Love the music too!
Interesting game, took a few mins to figure out, but when I did it was neat. Very cool physics effects with the pixels. The game gave me a weirdly Lemmings-ish vibe? Maybe Lemmings 2 specifically? The bridge building stuff reminds me of it. Cool game anyway.
Excellent presentation on this, love the clean minimalist look going on. The way the colours accumulate around the circle is nice too. I wish it were a bit more evident which colour was currently selected. Also I didn't quite get enough time to get accustomed to new colours as they appear. But overall, awesome work.
The hand drawn pen and paper style is pretty well done in this. The idea of having powerups change the second button control is a nice way to add a bit more variety to a theme that might limit that sort of thing. Good music too.
Nice happy mood to the game, especially with the music. Simple mechanics, but they work fine. Nice use of both themes.
Nice idea to use the two-button concept for an adventure game. The graphics are great, amazing backgrounds and I love the use of retro-style polygons. You got that Another World/Flashback look down perfectly.
Great game! Very nicely polished, particularly the audio work, which was punchy and satisfying. Gameplay is good too but I did find myself getting cheap damage from enemies spawning from behind pillars, maybe a more prominent spawn effect and making the pillars transparent when the camera is near them would help. Nice work overall.
Cool game. Love the island rising up as a mechanic. I think the game would have been better it you just had the island rising as the 'growing' theme, because the two button controls are just kind of awkward and don't really help the game. I quite enjoy the tiny pixel graphics, reminds me of the 'all on one screen' theme from a previous LD.
Great sense of style in this game. The rotated arrows were a tricky twist on the formula, but unfortunately it seems like you can mash the buttons to win. The penalty for missing needs to be much harsher I think.
Not bad. The cutout style is interesting. Gameplay works ok, though I feel like pressing both arrows to go forwards felt a little odd. Maybe constant movement might have been better. Good stuff overall though!
Fun stuff, simple but deceptively challenging. Controls feel nice, with just the right amount of physics in the movement. Beautiful presentation as well!
Interesting puzzle idea. Nice atmosphere too. Good stuff.
Nice game! I like the norse mythology style, and the enemy design was really cool. An interesting spin on the two button fighter concept, and the dilemma of which side of the screen to focus on was a neat gameplay aspect. Good stuff.
Nice game. I like the variety of powerups. The effect of the darkness constantly spreading is well done and is satisfying to fight back against it. Nice graphics and music too.
Fun game. Nice graphics. An interesting take on a Canabalt style game.
Great game! Very polished, I like that you spent the time to explain the game mechanics, and you even did it with full voice acting! The sound in general is good, some of the sound effects are really cute. Gameplay is an interesting blend of action and strategy. Good stuff!
This game is screaming for a tutorial. Not a bad game though, presentation is nice, and I like the story and voice acting. Gameplay mechanics could probably use some expanding a bit, and definitely needs more in-game explanation. Good work overall though!
Cute game. Nice graphics and decent fluid controls.
I knew there'd be a lot of Osmos/agar.io style games in the Growing theme. This is the best one I've played so far, its a great twist on the concept. The constant zooming out and escalation of hazards appearing makes it frantic and keeps you on your toes. Excellent presentation too.
Nice little game. Interesting way of using the two button mechanics to do a 'simon' type game. Awesome style and presentation. Would love to see multiple levels with more complex combinations etc.
5422.507! My hand co-ordination is quite bad though. It's a decent concept but I think there could have been more to it. Also I felt a bit weird brutally beating a character to death that didn't even fight back? Maybe there could have been some like counter attacks where you had to hit a specific side or combination or something. There is potential here for a neat sort of Punch-Out style game or something.
Pretty cute idea. Controls are nice and fluid. Good job!
Doesn't explain itself very well and is quite confusing, but is interesting when you get the hang of it. The idea of one game fuelling another game is pretty clever. Neat graphical style as well.
Nice idea for a shooter with two buttons. The whole ship rotating for different weapons is very cool. Good stuff!
I like the presentation of this game, its simple but looks good. The gameplay is pretty simple too but it works for what it is. My main gripe is the spikes are way too hard to see, and sometimes they just unavoidably spawn underneath you, resulting in some cheap deaths. Still, not a bad game!
Cool game. Nice pixel art. Love the zoomed-in bullet view! Controls took a bit of getting used to, I didn't know the focus button was a toggle rather than a hold to focus thing. Maybe add that as an option?
Crotch rating 5/5
Cool game! The menu selections in between games made things more interesting. Awesome UI work and overall presentation is great, but maybe speed up the transitions between screens. The gameplay was a bit too easy too, once you got used to the controls. Nice work overall though!
Nice idea. Interesting use of the growing mechanic as almost a 'health meter'. Like people have said it's a bit too difficult though, and the game could use some extra easier sections beforehand to ease you into the it. Cute graphics and music though. Pretty good stuff.
Kinda cute and amusing. Incredibly hard to get much score though, I didn't get any more than 5.
Interesting strategy game. I like the glowy neon style. Needs a lot of work in regards to teaching the player about how to play it, but I understand that the time is limited and you can't implement everything. Good stuff.
Neat take on the 'endless runner' theme, very challenging. I think it accelerates a bit too quickly though, and the sharp turns made me feel a bit ill. Interesting atmosphere, love the 80s synth ballad soundtrack going on.
Cool concept, the physics are well implemented. The visuals and audio make for an interestingly moody atmosphere.
Nice job! Lighting effects are good, and the gameplay, though simple, works fine and the controls are smooth. The music isn't bad and gives the game some flavour.
Beautiful pixel art in this. Nice music too. An interesting idea to mix Snake and oldskool zelda-style adventure games. I wish controlling it was a bit less clunky. The way the snake moves in blocks seems a little unpleasant to me. Also I don't think you necessarily needed to stick with the two button control theme, the game would have been less confusing with normal directional controls. Still though, impressive work overall!
Neat game. Soundtrack was good! Feel like the controls could have been explained better.
Interesting experiment. Graphics are minimalist but fit the mood pretty well. Would be great to see this sort of sound design in a more fleshed out game.
Cool idea. Nice pixel art too! I had a bit of trouble getting into the corner areas with the scope at times, though I was running it windowed so it could be that.
Cool game. I like the isometric style. Simple but fun!
Cool idea. Kinda like Worms meets Patapon, or something. Great artwork and nice audio that ties into the gameplay. I wish there was more feedback for entering the button inputs though.
Neat and interesting concept, mechanics are pretty solid. I like the sort of strategic aspect of keeping the followers alive by giving them orders. Good work.
Nice style. Excellent music choices. It could have gone further with the synaesthesia theme though. Might have been cool to have visual effects that pulse to the music or something, or even match the timing of attacks to the songs. Perhaps make the colours more vivid as you make progress? I know there's limited time and these things are hard to implement in the time limit, but these are just some ideas for possible improvement later. There's potential for something awesome here.
