LD27 — 10 Seconds

Panda Starvation by Mozzo 2013-08-26T16:12:00

Funny little game =)

The win/lose condition seems to be a bit bugged though. You might want to fix your variables when starting a new game.

I'm a bit sad that the panda has such a short lifespan. And it's all my fault :(

Seriously, it was a fun time playing =)

Insert Token(s) to Continue by Sestren 2013-09-10T08:07:00

Oh man, I didn't realize back then, how quickly you actually spent these tokens, and how much money was converted to these^^

I never really lost a game due to the continue thing up to now, but I extremely can remember the struggle to wait for a cool game to be *not* occupied =)

For all those, who didn't beat the game so far: try pressing <Shift> while running and insert the coin to the right, pick up the token on the left of the dispenser. I was technically banging the head (and fists) against the machine, without realizing the token needed to be picked up first :D

TimeRunner by calzoneman 2013-08-31T18:13:00

Took me a while to figure out that the arrow was meant to show me the next clock :P

I think it's unfair that the red guys don't expire after 10 seconds like the player does. Anyhow, nice little game, a key to restart would be great (apart from restarting it that is)

10 Second Urf Defender by Verrazano 2013-09-06T19:37:00

Nice graphics. The hand-drawn style looks great!
I also like the implementation of the theme. Better to have 10 secs to build the ship and fight infinite waves of baddies than having time forever, and only 10 secs to actually *use* the ship.

Btw, too bad that the sun won't actually burn the ship or recharge energy or something ^^

tiny terrors by berkano 2013-08-31T13:58:00

Great game! Just... wow! I love RTS, and the survival concept... maaaan^^

Snap Encounters by Spiridios 2013-09-10T09:11:00

Oohh, a textbased adventure. With graphics. I liked it =)
If it only wasn't for that 10 seconds constraint =/

7Tulips by pinkmonkeyhead 2013-08-26T12:15:00

Took me a while to understand the goal^^
Crosshair for the gun-part would be nice. Aiming is rather hard that way. Oh, and, I wasted one "Tulip" game because my rabbit was running in a circle around it. Bad timing I guess^^

Rhythmo! by TideS 2013-09-10T08:54:00

No source attached =/
Gameplay is weird; I'd say it's rather hard to hit the target.
Graphics and sound are weird too, but in a good way, nothing else like that around the compo (from what I've seen). ^^

Tale of a Lost Soul by eolhing 2013-08-26T12:59:00

Hm... won't run on Win7 x64. It's stuck at the startup screen... Didn't rate so far =/

Time and Time Again by BrothersT 2013-09-01T01:33:00

Had to n/a this one... only brought me a black screen on startup. =(

Legend of Troll by Christina Antoinette Neofotistou 2013-09-15T18:29:00

All hail the queen! ^^
I can see this as a prototype of a great puzzle.

Great sprites, decent music, what more does a game need?
Btw: would you mind telling me the instrument/VST you used to create your sound?

Up-Run by garygreen 2013-08-26T12:34:00

A racegame with the goal to finish second - ten times. Now that's something new to me. It's totally win-able, but you depend quite a bit on luck, once you reach the upper border of the screen, since you can't evade anymore...

Broken Controls by ryebread761 2013-08-31T23:44:00

It's fun to play it for a while, but it's a bit too easy. I actually never moved at all, or - depending on the currently broken direction - only moved on the axis, which allowed me to use either direction.

11 Seconds by TheJackiMonster 2013-08-26T15:51:00

Web version wasn't working for me - Download version works fine.

The character looks quite funny :P The sfx for walking are a bit strange, but apart from that, a solid recreation of sokoban with enhanced functionality =)

Too simple by tryzor 2013-09-05T16:21:00

Totally like the chiptune, even if the sound is a bit too loud^^ I believe your character is supposed to jump higher, the movement speed makes up for it to a certain degree though. Not really sure what the wincondition is, but I believe you need to collect all the green squares in order to win. Still I lost the first level somehow, even if I did collect them all. I won on second try though :P

Boxer's Seconds by madk 2013-08-26T16:23:00

Oh maaan... Killing all those poor people for not liking Batman. If the "10 Seconds" would know the game rules, I'm sure they'd have agreed on something and worked for you.
Love the randomized character generation, btw!

DotFight by se1by 2013-09-01T01:49:00

Would be great to have some "preparation time" before you're being shot at, I believe the player is at a disadvantage, when the level starts. (Or I just suck at this game. Lost at level 5)

Apple Harvest by Spelchan 2013-09-01T01:29:00

I believe this would be a designated game for a (multi-)touch screen. It's quite hard to collect these apples with the mouse. Highscore 200, but I admit that I totally click-spammed *blush*

Don't sink by Doctor Broccoli 2013-09-01T18:55:00

Just... wow!
This game is one of the best I've ever seen in a LD!
Cellular automata for the win. My best was 30 days, 2219 score.

I actually "precalculated" a strategy in order to actually beat the game and continue playing it as long as I wanted. Still, I never managed to actually use that strategy, since I don't have enough moves to apply the needed changes...

V... Village
S... Swamp
F... Forest
f... Field
0... any supply (Forest/Field)
?... any non-village (Forest/Field/Swamp/Sand/Water)
~... Water

~~~~~~~~
~VfFFSV~
~S0000f~
~F0??0F~
~F0??0F~
~f0000S~
~VSFFfV~
~~~~~~~~

That way, you have 4 actions (4 villages), and each turn, you can fill up 4 swamps, and 4 new swamps will be created, which can be filled next turn until infinity =)

That should work... right?

Worst Gnome at the Factory by Crowbeak 2013-09-09T14:40:00

Argh... the character's movement speed is so slooooow. Doesn't really make it easy to reach everything in time. Or I just suck at this game^^

No Time for Nibbles by larb 2013-09-01T01:24:00

Oh my... a TRON / Snake crossover? How cool is that? With actual poop! Adds a lot to the realism, and I really mean that, even if I still chuckle from the idea of death through poop^^

Alien Attack by KayZ 2013-08-31T18:35:00

Yeah, comes quite close to "Upgrade Complete" indeed... Too bad your project wasn't finished, without dying, an actual "goal" and stuff, it felt more like a cinematic to me.
Having to draw each opponent in various graphic levels must have been quite some work.

As far as the "mouse oscillating" is concerned... I didn't check the source so far, but I believe it's some bugged <= vs. < check on the x-axis...

Terminal 10 by alts 2013-09-10T10:08:00

The parachute is now safe! :D
Well, I should have thought about putting it on first^^
Not before tossing it away though. Oh well^^ Fun and short game! (Btw, is it just me, or does the guy still die, even WITH the parachute, just that the success overlay is hiding all that :P)

Rewind by sergilazaro 2013-08-29T18:13:00

The game is quite simple to beat - still, the idea is just awesome! The hardest part was to find out the game rules. After all is said and done, it's a nice new style of a puzzle game.

Zombocalypse by paulfysh 2013-09-09T21:53:00

@Vard: Need to unpack the .zip first...

Speaking of installers - does it really *have* to be?

Gameplay is a bit repetitive... cutting down stuff for resources is always awesome though, as long as it doesn't feel like grinding. Zombies are cool, too^^

Theme representation is a bit low, if there was any "reason" for Zombies to spawn at that rate, it would make sense, but right now, it just feels a little random (also, I wouldn't even have noticed that without the programmer's comment)

The game

10 seconds of hope by tobbez 2013-08-26T16:08:00

Wow.... that's really fast paced... An easier mode with slower ticks would have decreased the difficulty a bit.

Also, I'm unable to change the screensize... on my wide-screen monitor, I can't even see the entire game.

But hey, nice concept, and all that within 48 hours. =)

Pathfinders Delight by Exergy 2013-08-31T23:29:00

Oh yes, pathfinding! And all that against the clock. Decent game all in all =)

High Demand Secretary by TheColorMan 2013-09-11T10:08:00

It felt like there was a lot more time than 10 seconds... Too bad there was no actual "goal" of the game... I thought at first, that after a while you'd win or something, but as I had to re-type what I already typed before, I decided to forget about this, and go for some sort of highscore instead :P

I believe there should be penalties for mistyping, after all, there's no point in having a message including the letters of the assignment, but having whatever amount of wrong characters mixed inbetween^^

Nice graphics, btw =)

Tardis Robot Hospital by Binary Gambit 2013-09-05T16:38:00

I like the Box2D physics though. These turning wheels stopped my progress more than once :P Too bad it's quite laggy for me... It also told me that it took about 1.5 GB of RAM. Maybe my PC just can't digest it properly. Must be because of the fast food, I guess...^^

Umbra Machina by TheMaster99 2013-09-08T22:42:00

Damn, that evil guy is fast. And evil. I also encountered that problem with dying due to falling down the platform instead of jumping first. Liked the graphics, even if the skyscrapers are a bit less detailed than the shadow enemy or the character itself. Soundtrack is awesome, btw!

Quickfire by Aaron4576 2013-09-08T22:48:00

Damn, that enemy is jumpy. Not sure if it wanted to hit me at all, or if it was just randomized... It's a bit unpolished, could use some SFX, etc. All in all a nice minimalistic shooter =)

Thief Escape by psc1997 2013-09-05T16:26:00

Entertaining little game =)
Took me a while to figure out what you meant by "jigsaw", but managed to beat the game eventually^^

Essentrika by Hologuardian 2013-08-27T10:25:00

Is there any way to change the screen resolution?
It's "taller" than what my widescreen monitor supports...

10 seconds twine adventure by Fabien Porée 2013-09-10T10:43:00

Calling your own submission a "good idea", well...
I'm not a fan of not capitalizing nouns and such, but the choices are interesting with some built-in humor =)

Silver by SnoringFrog 2013-09-10T08:30:00

I was very very very close to resigning, maybe not even attempting the last challenge. I really hated the arrow stuff over an extended period - tossing things around is not too bad, since the mashing doesn't last too long... fun fact - I managed to beat the hurdles without jumping and had to wait at the finish line for a few secs... does this mean I overdid the button mashing? o.O

Anyhow, even if my keyboard is still smoking, I had my fun playing ^_^

P.S.: Runs fine on win7 x64 for me

Mission: Save Gliese by thetheodor98 2013-09-15T18:07:00

Screen resolution killed it for me =(

Is there any way to scale it down? / Launch fullscreenmode?

I managed to beat level 1, but I couldn't leave the upgrade section anymore =/

10s Castaway by meszka 2013-09-10T21:23:00

Not sure why this game is believed to be that hard... The hardest part is having enough time to retrieve the treasure, everything else goes smoothly within 10 secs.
Solid survival game, congrats!

Frantic by Joritan Cety 2013-08-26T12:55:00

I was a bit astonished about the rather large filesize for a small game - then again, you used .wav as a soundformat. That explains it :D
It was extremely fun to play through the levels. The hardest one was I think 2 before the end, where you actually had to move diagonally and only had one opponent.
Nice go for a minigame!

Duel by zlowrance 2013-09-09T22:44:00

Rock-Paper-Scissors all the way ^_^

Would be nice, if it was possible to change the decision, if you misclicked (then again, the hole in the cards make it even *look* like a final decision^^)

Nice background music, btw =)

Potato Lagoon by rezoner 2013-09-17T07:33:00

You should have totally scored #1 on audio =)
I read in one of the above comments that linking to soundcloud through your game is not working correctly, maybe you can open it in a new tab rather than creating a new window? Not sure if it works, though ^_^

Hot Potato by Tater_hater 2013-09-08T22:56:00

A neat Minigame collection... Too bad you can't choose what to play (also, I had to play the spam-E-key 3 times in a row... not my favourite...)
Win/Lose conditions weren't always obvious, and the pilot-cloud-avoiding could have had smoother controls, and the yes/no buttons of the "dress" girl shouldn't jump THAT fast. That's just my personal preference though. Solid entry!
Still, must have been quite some work putting all that together

Make Me a Pizza! by thomtaniel 2013-09-05T15:49:00

It's quite hard at the beginning to differentiate these ingredients... Bacon and... was it canadian bacon? I was really puzzled when I suddenly lost :P

It would be awesome, if you'd have to put the pizza in an oven or something, I'm not the type eating it raw^^

Not sure about the soundtrack, isn't the opera "Carmen" supposed to play in spain? Anyhow, the synthies sound nice, congrats on the sound-design =)

Fortris by mollrow 2013-09-09T13:57:00

The game is a bit too slow pace-wise... The 10-seconds are more like a pain to wait for, once your blocks start to slow down. The concept of combined tiles for clusters and such is awesome, I believe it might be a bit related to HexCelle.

Fast-Paced Card Action: 10 Second Card Game by Baknik 2013-09-09T14:04:00

Nice concept, easy to learn. Could still use some polish/balance, since it's quite easy to stack up a lot of multipliers and finish it all of with a nice time increase.
It was fun to play, can't remember when I stopped, but I played for quite a few minutes =)

PYRAM1D by CogentInvalid 2013-09-09T14:24:00

Randomized levelgeneration? Just great ^_^ The minimap is quite pointless, especially since your timer continues and the only "safe" area are gates themselves.
Liked the different music styles depending on room-colors.
If you add more traps, it could be a bit like the movie "cube"^^

The Master of All Magic by marbu 2013-09-15T20:26:00

/me likes randomized levels

I kind of missed a bassline on the soundtrack^^

Funny minigame, congrats on your submission =)

inTENse by polarkac 2013-09-15T21:12:00

Not bad, not bad. Reminds me of humanity in real life. Everyone chasing the weakest guy. Humor+ for the credits =)

I encountered a (probably unlikely) bug - after level 3 or so, the portal was unreachable in the water^^

Baking Bread by soerensen3 2013-09-15T21:28:00

Hm, never got to actual 10.0... 9.9 was my best. Still, I got 1000 points for that ^_^

A_VOID by manofdoom 2013-09-09T22:00:00

Glitchcore... I thought of it as some sort of electronic music genre :P

It *does* have flashy graphics, and the sfx are fitting nicely. I tried to avoid entering the next area once, since I wanted to see what happens after these 10 secs ^_^

fastDefense by little-automaton 2013-09-01T19:38:00

Big remote ball is the best. The enemies can never reach my castle! The automatic level increment is good to keep players on their toes, especially, if the enemies spawn close to "your home". Still, there's not really much to do, nor an actual goal... in any case, solid entry =)

exposure by zillix 2013-09-15T18:00:00

Loved the different endings (btw, aren't there 4 of them?...)
The camera should be able to "zoom out", it was hard to see sometimes, if you were "behind" a building.
Btw, I didn't really find any "excess" pearls. Also, it's funny that the black ones (and the shadows) only exist to give the game a bad ending. :D

Didn't really "get" your theme reference, until I checked the description and actively searched for it while rating ^_^ I think it's great that you handled it that way!

Your synth reminded me a bit of Faster Than Light, but that might be just me somehow connecting that. Speaking of which, would you mind telling me the name of your DAW / instruments?

Sustain by James Foley 2013-09-09T22:12:00

Would be nice to have a marker or something to know which way to go, the sprites are basic, but neat ^_^

Too bad the game doesn't differentiate between "killed by terrorists" and "killed by mine", I actually walked on a mine on purpose to verify that :D

The "princess disappeared" reminds me a bit of the good old Super Mario series :D

Congrats on your submission!

<<Rewind! by NIGIC 2013-09-01T01:18:00

Great innovative gameplay, backgroundmusic sounds good aswell.
I believe that it was hard for me to make a few connections, such as passing the first guard WITHOUT waking him up, or using the crowbar to open the hidey-hole in the (skipping that to avoid spoilering) Wouldn't have made it without peeking in the walkthrough. Would play the next chapter immediately (if it's ever created)

10 Second Waves by Erigitic 2013-09-09T22:33:00

Finally a playable game below 20 MB + installer! (Can I give innovation bonus for this? :P)

The game is extremely hard... enemies moving fast (and diagonally), the player is limited to one movement direction... I wonder if anyone survived all the waves o.O

I agree with the other comments, it definitely needs more content. Even a HP bar above the enemies would be some improvement, apart from that, yeah, probably more weapons and such. (And medi-kits! Please!)

10 Second Destruction by Integershift 2013-09-09T22:19:00

Didn't manage to install the pygame thing, it told me it didn't find python even after installing the version noted in the description =/

Blackout by X-0r 2013-08-24T18:17:00

It's not actually working yet. See it as a teleport pad rather, until I implemented the stair functionality :P

There is no game "goal" just yet, and the 10-second-theme is also not in my code yet.

I'm uploading and updating my log, so I got a backup in case my HDD crashes.

Apart from the "game start", the other buttons don't work either so far. If you're a bit patient, you'll be able to play the finished game, once I'm done. =)

Blackout by X-0r 2013-08-26T11:44:00

Yeah... reaching the game menu means that you win. I didn't have enough time to design the win-screen. In fact, I thought of linking the ending to the 10-second sequence to make the timetravel more logical. Also, you're not actually talking, it's using a baseball bat =) Unless my "great" user-interface bugged out, that is.

Blackout by X-0r 2013-08-26T14:50:00

Well, intended to a certain degree... I wanted to find a way to let the player interact with tiles he could stand on, aswell as with not accessible tiles - such as switches in the wall. I became aware of these troubles during mid-to-late gameplay, but I was used to it already since I implemented the tile interactions... Rewriting the engine wasn't really possible anymore at that time. I also planned to give the player the opportunity to play with the keyboard only, but time was running out =( I also added a marker, flashing on the tile you looked at, but I believe it didn't help much...

Blackout by X-0r 2013-08-29T06:23:00

Thanks a lot for your critics. Appreciate it much =)

Blackout by X-0r 2013-08-31T18:41:00

Using the bat means you win. I thought of making it possible "only" to hit Mr. White but decided against it for some reason. I just know that I was short on time (and I was tired a bit at 3 AM), so my decisionmaking might have been a bit biased back then.

Blackout by X-0r 2013-09-01T22:22:00

Nope... never heard of that game. But I'll definitely search it out and try it ^_^

Blackout by X-0r 2013-09-05T13:26:00

Thanks so much, guys! I start to get proud of my soundtrack, which is really motivating. I think I need to fire up my DAW more frequently now =)

Blackout by X-0r 2013-09-09T17:13:00

I wanted to map the listeners to keyboard aswell, but I had trouble with callbacks =/ There should have been more possibilities for each NPC, apart from talking... RPG like combat, I even semi-implemented a weapon system. I also had a health bar, which is even visible on one of the screenshots. I ended up using it as a volume-change bar, since health wasn't needed after all...

In fact, I wasted a lot of time on things I never used... The entire text within the game is dynamic, all I'd need to do would be a button to change the "language" parameter, and the entire game would be translated (if I actually put the translation into the text arrays).

I planned to add a lot more variety to the intro aswell. I know that it totally sucks. My plan was to give the player hints through sound, making you basically listen to your environment during the blackout. I ended up recording myself tossing things around, banging at my desk and making weird noises. I don't like the intro, and honestly, I never liked the theme. It was one of the few I rated -1, since I found it to be waaaay too limiting. Limiting any action to 10 seconds, or making the game last 10 seconds was nothing I ever considered, so I ended up making the intro last 10 seconds instead.

Blackout by X-0r 2013-09-12T16:52:00

Congratulations ^_^

Honestly, I wanted to go for keyboard only. As I noticed the flaw of the controls (apart from the messy part of forcing the players to "look at their feet"), it was too late to reprogram the engine. Changing the controls from arrows to WASD would have been 4 values to edit, but I tested my game using arrows, so I was kinda used to them; I don't really know why I went with arrows at all.

Sleep Well by bassarisse 2013-09-09T22:55:00

The hero moves soooo slooooow =/ I tried everything to be faster, shooting energy "downwards" to use the recoil, getting hit by evil guys from below to launch myself up...
The breathing SFX is really relieving though, I caught myself holding my breath during a level once. Good job!

Low Power by sapermysz 2013-09-09T23:01:00

Whee, what a precise timer! 6 digits after comma *chuckle*

The lighting is totally sub-par =/ maybe the collectibles should act as a light source or something...

Save Them by Jason 2013-09-09T23:21:00

Resolution too high for my screen in windowed mode =/ Should support full-screen for that, I suppose...
I like the way of placing markers, but still, some of the astro guys failed to follow my directions. A bit less randomness would be good, I believe (perhaps only when hitting a wall?)
I don't get the point of using a 3d engine to build a 2d pixelart game, but oh well, it works and runs stable ^_^

Ten Second Clock by JasonG 2013-09-09T23:07:00

It's a bit bugged... you can actually click on the same tile again and again... and again... Not sure about scoring either, it seems to add +50 score each time, regardless of glyphs.
I'd also recommend to avoid the extra keypress for the right bar. The second mousebutton, maybe...
Congrats on your submission =)

LD#27 Ghost Protocol Alpha by lasertictac 2013-09-09T23:13:00

Shaking waay too much... Good background music (and yay for bloodsplatter!)

Hackfield by Katamori 2013-09-01T19:07:00

I totally fail to start the game, the executable won't even show in the task-manager. I'm using win7 x64... If any of the .dll's are in another folder, I recieve a warning about missing libraries, if all are within the same folder, there's no warning, not even anything happening at all...

Are there any prerequisites to run this game on my machine?

Angry Guards by Diptoman 2013-08-27T21:42:00

Awesome game! I totally like the innovation on that one =)
I'm not sure, how this mind-control thing is working, but wielding this power is just awesome. *another guard jumps down the ledge* Mwahahaha!

Invasion of the Cones by Xinchro 2013-09-10T10:00:00

Good concept! The debug(?) message area would have needed some background color or idk... white text on white screen isn't readable too well =/
Didn't get the "healing" part... Also, it would be nice to add some visual (or audible) feedback for attacking.

Prelude of the Vorpal Blade by oxysoft 2013-09-10T08:49:00

Running perfectly on Win7 x64. Not much to do here, but yeah, it's an engine ^_^
Probably should have gone for a jam entry, maybe?
Watched your timelapse, and I must say, your pixel art is mint! Didn't see any DAW or other means to create sound though :(

Entropy by Supercannon 2013-08-29T18:04:00

Would be nice to have a bit more "info" about what's going on... I'm not even sure, if these dropships(?) can be shot. I believe I took one of these down, but my shots usually exploded like fireworks as they reached them.
I liked the neon effects ^_^ and the amount of different weapons. That plasma-gun-ish projectile deals a hell lot of damage. I never recieved a full automatic weapon, but it might just have been bad luck (by that I mean, it would be awesome to riddle the cubes with massive amounts of projectiles :P)

Reload by zn01wr 2013-09-10T09:42:00

Best 2d pixel graphics I encountered in the whole LD so far. The jetpack flame - plus the effect you leave behind on the ground made you actually "feel" you used a powerful tool, which upgraded the already good mood into really great experience!
Took me a while to figure out that the jetpack and dash(!) could be used over a longer timespan, if held down longer...
Nice percussive beat, btw!

Keyboard Slap by Velro 2013-08-31T23:37:00

I wonder if it's easier on actual drums... It's totally challenging, looks much easier on the screenshot :P

Bomb defuse - 10 seconds by choqaae 2013-09-10T09:17:00

I liked to concept of adjusting yourself to the map, however... losing all upgrades (even after WINNING), while having to keep the money stats constantly was not too nice =/
Will play it again though, trying to increase my money rather than wasting it =)

Cast Out by Seihi 2013-09-10T10:13:00

Too large screen resolution for such low amount of pixels =/
I managed to win by randomly spam-clicking on my inventory stuff. The win/lose screens are designed quite well, imo =)

Attack of the n00b Models by metranil 2013-09-10T09:03:00

Didn't play it until the end, tbh.
Totally like the idea of randomized stats. Seems like your focus was on creating a lot of different 3d models. Some of them are really basic, but all in all, you managed to pull off good graphics =)

PILLOWMAN Defeats the Robots by Spencer Alves 2013-09-10T09:24:00

Lagged my firefox down to like 2 FPS after a while... Garbage collecting troubles maybe? Graphics are nice, liked the splashscreen =)

Lord Of The Watches by Coconut Mage 2013-09-10T09:47:00

Screen resolution changed nothing, top-left corner - still nothing. Clicked everywhere on the screen (since I assumed it would check the mouse location, instead of the actual buttons), still nothing. Also, there are no screenshots of the actual game, so I can't rate your entry at all, sorry :(

Feed Me Word Things by beaugunderson 2013-09-10T10:50:00

Picking favorite words after losing is fun :P I so much hope to see a final most awesome word or something like that^^
The glitchy graphics gave it a nice look, but the sfx didn't fit too well, imo.
Anyways, it seems to be a good game to start learning how to type =)

Earth Defender by GNecro1 2013-09-10T09:54:00

So... your first game? or your second? I know that the other has been deleted, but if I lost my files, I'd restart instead of using another concept... What would your first game have been about? Just curious^^
Graphics are quite nice, sfx are good, too. Too bad you never finished placing towers and such, would have been a great addition to the game.

Crazy Genetist by ratalaika 2013-08-30T13:27:00

Aaah, a pipegame! Took me a while to figure out all the connecting and stuff, also that you can only attach "valid" parts. I believe that there should be some sort of destroy/remove possibility, either on screen, or on the ones to choose from. The way it is now, you're quite a bit dependent on luck (which means, trying again could lead to better results ^_^)

It's time to Cow by Wulo 2013-09-10T10:55:00

Wow, that cow has a loose head. :P
Gameplay mechanics are easy to learn, the game is still hard to master. Would be nice to know what "stubit cow" stands for, btw :)

10 by caluca22 2013-09-10T11:13:00

Survived :D
Game mechanics are very simple, but it seems there's not more to add anyway. Nice little game =)

Scorpio 10 by javifugitivo 2013-08-26T12:27:00

Nice game overall. The soundtrack isn't exactly what I'd expect a hacker to listen to, but it's fun, and I think that's what counts!
I also think that the game is primarily designed for touchscreens, hitting the buttons at the right time with the mousepointer is extremely hard!

QuickHunt by MvdLaar 2013-09-10T22:40:00

Love the looks of this one! Only thing I didn't like was being stuck in the woods, not even seeing my character, apart from that a very polished and - at least seemingly - finished game =)

10 Seconds to leave by Caracole 2013-09-01T00:11:00

Intriguing gameplay. I think there should be a button or something to cancel the endless fade-out of text... Speaking of text, the way you use it in a 3d environment is just awesome. Best level imo - the flashing platforms =)

Hellish Copter by Laelien 2013-09-01T00:56:00

Funny gameplay, great mouth-made FX (with one exception: *pew pew*, but I think it was only because of the frequency it was heard)
Took me a while to understand that the actual countdown was related to my remaining fuel... nuclear... unrealistic... nevermind :D

Deka Sektor by Nega Drive 2013-09-01T00:36:00

Now that's what I call action-packed =)
I believe that the amount of cubes is somewhat random, so it's not always clear to me, whether luck plays a role of the final score after all. In any case, it's fun to play, and I think that's what counts.

10 second maze by connorwiniarczyk 2013-09-01T00:17:00

Too bad it was that short... Only thing I'd ask you to improve would be to start the timer after the first button has been pressed, maybe also having some arrow to the player, since all I saw at first were a few squares.^^

Quizz Ball by KamikaziUk 2013-08-26T13:50:00

10 seconds? ... Sorry, but I fail to see the connection...

Other than that, nice sci-fi layout. Too bad there's no sci-fi music. Something similar to your backgroundmusic on your trailer maybe? SFX? No comment...

Tested multiplayer, too... would be nice to configure gamepad controls and/or balance the mousesensitivity.

Chrono Defense by Cardanis 2013-09-10T22:12:00

The sfx were far too loud compared to the background music, imo... The game needs balancing, right now, it is really too hard. Once you can select units, move them, etc, it would give more control to the player. Right now, it seems to depend a lot on luck... Still, it was fun playing it =)

Burger Hunter by euvl 2013-09-10T22:00:00

Eating all that stuff made me hungry, somewhat :P I think there should be obstacles, hazards, ... anything which would stop the player from running in straight lines. =)

Super Paper! by FakeHair 2013-09-10T21:41:00

I'm being flooded by massive amounts of paper o.O
Love the recycling / conversion mechanics =)
Sound or music would add to the game ;)

Delayed by Jordo76 2013-08-31T18:25:00

Oh wow... these ten seconds definitely felt long the first levels, when you already finished, but your bit didn't even start to move yet. I think the tilebased levels totally messed with my eyes "5 tiles? no, wait... 6?"

Baldaquin by Marcellus 2013-09-10T21:53:00

44 hours you say? Don't you ever sleep or something? :D
You should suggest that to NASA - preventing an apocalypse with apples ^^

Zombie Pop! by nthird 2013-09-11T10:31:00

The blood splatter on the wall. Even if it's just a red line, it looks great^^
I didn't try all of the levels, since the gameplay didn't have much variety. The idea of feeding zombies to kill them is totally anti-mainstream. No shovels, no shotguns, just raw(or rotten?) meat^^

Ship Escape by pcmccull 2013-09-10T08:15:00

Managed to beat it without wall-glitching ^_^
It took me a while to find out to know where to go in lv6. (Thanks soooo much for not letting me restart at level 1 upon drowning - and purposefully walking into the electrical machine)

DynamiTEN by pedroka 2013-09-10T22:31:00

2nd place on highscores first try. Yay :P
Interesting mining concept, all I wonder is... how on earth does the poor fellow get the way back UP? :D

Korn Land by GigaBass 2013-09-11T10:00:00

Carrot-hell o.O
I know it's written somewhere that you do have 10 lives, I just missed a counter for that. The corn-artwork is great, and the way the corn recieves an impulse to the direction you fly(?) atm gives a nice feeling of the actual motion of your character. Also, thumbs up for the hitbox-debugmode-thing, made it much easier to understand the game =)

Long live the potato king!

Defuse in 10 seconds by archaeometrician 2013-09-01T01:43:00

After saving the princess while risking my own life (actually I blew up once after looking at the graphics), I could hear chiptune. 'Nuff said =)

@archeometrician: Which VSTi did you use for the chip sound, or is it something included in FL Studio? Cheers!

Defuse in 10 seconds by archaeometrician 2013-09-01T17:00:00

@arch: Thanks for your response =)
I create my sound with another DAW (REAPER), I doubt that 3xOSC is available outside of FL Studio. Will have to do some searching, I guess.

Re-Curse-Sive by Dracae 2013-09-11T09:49:00

Minor name-inconsistency :P You called it "Re-Curse-Si[z]e" at your submission^^
Had to chuckle at the intro, cute drawings (especially the witch :P)
I kind of hoped that there would be some goal to reach, such as finding the witch, having some sort of boss-fight and revoking the curse. The way it's now, the game is a bit unforgiving. I liked the way the character "rolls" when moving, and hey, you even do have some sort of randomized room generation, congrats on that!

Not sure, if your question has already be answered, but editing the game after the compo isn't allowed - the only exceptions are fixing minor bugs and porting the game to other platforms. You can release a post-compo version, but you need to notify the players, that they cannot rate the game judging the changes/improvements you made.

10 Seconds of life by Hexicube 2013-09-11T09:18:00

Love the customize options, traces, fullscreen(!). Not being limited by screensize, yay =)
It's really a bullet-hell, I ended up collecting one power-up after the other, just to make my shield last longer. Oh well, still died in the end^^

Next Gen Cat Gameplay by UltraRat 2013-09-11T10:36:00

That's almost a reality simulator! Works on dogs, too, btw^^
From what I've experienced, distance pointer to pet also plays a role somewhat. If the cube followed the pointer at speed depending on it's attention, it would feel a bit less minimalistic =)

Rob n' Chase by AIalumni 2013-09-11T10:20:00

Glitch-mania^^ I ran over the policeman, and as a reward, he pushed my through any wall :P
Is the policeman supposed to make me lose? All he does is following me around upon contact (and pushing me through walls, yeah^^)
Walking outside the level may be cool, if you need a trick or something and laugh about your success, but on level two, it seemed to be almost asking for it^^ Music was good, too, maybe try not to interrupt it when switching levels (just because I hate skipping tracks midway, no matter on what occasion^^)

Naskea by Ninquo 2013-09-11T10:26:00

10 secs for all that is really hard...
The graphical design is great, but I don't like de-capitalized text too much (won't deduct anything for personal preferences though)
The concept is nice, and the game appears to be finished - congrats on that!

Still Charging! by xfxian 2013-08-26T12:46:00

It's a bit easy, yeah... But I like the reflection physics, shields, and the optional laser gun. First game you say? Damn, you're good =)

Ten Seconds To Home by MrSecretUnlock 2013-09-05T12:29:00

Unable to get any further than the medical dart. Travelled everywhere, even to that museum, etc. There is nothing to use the dart on, no way to find any other equipment part, nothing to use the DDD on. Is the order of visits even relevant?

Ten Seconds To Home by MrSecretUnlock 2013-09-05T12:41:00

Ah. Solved it. Spoiler(?) You *can* use the DDD in order to have an effect.

High Jumper by GVmakesGames 2013-09-10T11:10:00

Oh man, my highest is only 10... no need to be proud of that, I assume.
Music is nice, but detuned too much for my taste and a bit too many rhythm issues.
As simple as they might seem, I like your neon platforms :P
Btw - is the player supposed to move faster diagonally? Maybe I only imagined it, but I could swear I could jump over a further distance that way ^_^
If you ever update/continue this.... maybe give a short overview of the map beforehand, rather than starting the game in the splitsecond you reach for the restart button ;)

Thanksgiving Hero by Amber 2013-09-05T16:55:00

Did you create the music yourself? I believe it fits quite well =)

The starting dialogue should be even faster forwardable, or moved to a seperate "how to play" area. I believe it's funny how you really tried to make sense with the "correct order" of eating food^^

Btw, your sprites are decent, good work!

10x10 seconds by Anton_D 2013-09-05T10:30:00

I couldn't move my character at all, not with arrows, not with WASD... Does anyone have a hint how to fix that? Also, a few enemies seem to ignore my shots. Assumption: If the enemy spawns after a shot bullet, it won't check for collision, maybe? In any case, great to see another newcomer around =)

Justify by ChrisPugh 2013-09-05T11:35:00

This game definitely serves for a dark mood - seeing as it is text-only, it's quite something. Most of the categories can't really be rated... Graphics and Audio aren't really existing.
Awesome idea to collect all the entries ^_^
10 seconds to think and type was a bit too short for me, I didn't really get I what was expecting me (which I probably would have, if I've *really* been in that situation)
But hey, I'd go for the mutant racoon virus rather than immediate death :D

Network Intrusion by vulpineblazeyt 2013-09-05T15:56:00

I agree to most of the above comments... There's nothing refering to 10 seconds at all, unless there was some clever out-of-the-box connection which I didn't get.
Beating the game is too easy, imo, just click the adjacent pixels again and again until you win. I believe that the other "bases" might have been supposed to take over terrain aswell, but I don't see anything on the screen doing anything :P Also, please try not to force an installer, if possible =/

The Village of Lost Time by EpaceGames 2013-08-26T13:33:00

Overall 5/5 for me! This game is just awesome!
The gameplay reminds me a bit of chronotron, where past instances of yourself press buttons etc.
The storyline behind all this is deeper than I initially expected. Thank you for submitting this gem!

ChronoCards by alfie275 2013-08-26T13:17:00

Got a blackscreen, with hearing the "Chronocards" voice in all different pitch levels... Can't really click anything. I run windows 7 x64.

Anti-Grav Drive by bnhw 2013-08-27T10:15:00

Two-dimensional gravity for the win! Even if it's not the point of the game, trying to get your ship to orbit around a planet is fun, too^^
I'm not sure, if there's a way to continue forever, if you had the skills, or if you do depend on luck a bit.

Limitactics by Killswitch 2013-09-05T16:13:00

Got it to work in DosBox even on Win 7 x 64
Integer-only input is a bit tedious, especially the cipher conversion takes a lot of calculation. Might be a great educational program for highschool IT, letting them learn binary, octals and mathematical patterns :D

Gimme 10 secs, I gotta kill this horde by Gear 2013-09-05T15:37:00

Great game =)
SFX are only very basic, but the graphics are pixely-awesome.
There seems to be a minor glitch when the weapon switches, you can actually shoot two rockets before the first reload, but the different types of weapons are really cool! (P.S. I love destructible terrain^^)

10sShmup by rzfmzn 2013-08-26T12:16:00

No links :(

10 Sec Hero by StabAlarash 2013-09-10T10:39:00

Looking at the comments, I was expecting quite much. And I got what I hoped for. Great game!

Jetpack Jacob in The Quest for Time by Jacic 2013-09-11T09:37:00

I agree with most others about the difficulty. Apart from the robot "deadliness", at the beginning, to the far left... once you go in there, it's nearly impossible to get back, since the character thinks he's hitting a wall... the jetpack speed needs to be almost at 0 to pass through. Maybe make the character-hitbox a tad bit smaller, just a pixel or two, unless his hair are supposed to be made out of steel or something^^
I managed to clear the bottom two floors eventually, never came any further than this. Maybe add a bit more variety to your tiles, making the playfield appearing less "empty". Also, please don't deduct jetpack energy for regular jumps, I'd really like to have it recharged after jumping up the "stairs". Having the timer count on and on, while you need to wait for it to recharge is driving me crazy :P

Timed Strategy by Zelosfan 2013-08-26T13:14:00

Neat gameplay. I like strategy in general, tbh :P
The music was a bit too "uplifting" for a wargame.. you know, killing stuff etc... Too bad that the game crashed on me after the tutorial, but what I saw was great. (Man... you actually coded an AI from scratch? That alone is an epic achievement!)

The Ten Second War by Cake_Catastrophe 2013-09-01T00:28:00

Oh yes, strategy! Took me a while to grasp the concept of power, and I'm still not sure what all the spells actually "do". Still, nothing beats the feeling of winning a battle with only a few units left (soooo close!)^^

10s Zombies by Myyyvothrr 2013-08-27T21:51:00

Movement speed is a bit too slow =/ Apart from that I like the Human > Zombie > Guard food-chain :P (The guards don't actually *eat* the zombies, right?)

T.I.M.E by MetroidMan347 2013-08-31T18:06:00

This is one of these projects where you probably need a lot more time to polish. It reminds me somewhat of the movie "In Time", following the principle of using time as money. It's great to see that concept in a game!

I noticed a minor bug (or feature?) in the jumping minigame - if you stand on the top platform and hit the jump key again and again, you'll spawn a lot of these time "pixels" making it very easy to... well... grind your way up^^

Robots Save the Day by udo 2013-09-06T19:58:00

Neat game! Reminds me a bit of Light-Bot (and Light-Bot is awesome, too!)

Korrod by eelfroth 2013-09-09T22:38:00

My char was stuck in boxes a lot, sometimes, I was unable to move even in "open" areas =/ Too bad the intro theme is that short, I kinda hoped for a soundtrack^^
You should probably add some sort of epilepsy warning, there's a lot of flashing going on here (which is a good thing, imo).

Mutatris by CiderPunk 2013-09-10T21:47:00

Oh maaan, even a single mutation thingie is sufficient to totally throw me off. Reminds me of the good old game boy times ^^

BIOFUEL by Ciaran54 2013-08-26T12:41:00

In the modern world, fuel has been always an issue. We need these plants!

Took me a while to figure out the double jump for the jetpack, other than that the controls have been logical^^

I was a bit confused that you had to hit "enter" at the explanation screen - I mean the "empty" lines required an extra keypress^^

Stare by Drabiter 2013-09-10T08:58:00

Got 2 right in a row. To be honest, looking at it after reading the description, I played it the wrong way. I actually clicked the one disappearing last^^

Factory Wars by The Evil Cult 2013-09-01T20:53:00

Woo, RTS! I liked the mech-gunner the most. With a bit of repair assistance, it can deal quite some damage ^_^

Neat graphics, and the background music is nice and squeaky =)
The game is a tad bit too easy, but I'll definitely check your homepage for more!

E.B.D.S by EggDestroyer 2013-09-09T22:26:00

Never knew that democracy was *that* evil :O

The moving targets + sandstorm are the hardest part, imo, still, it's not too hard to beat the game. Hard for a good total rating, but easy to play through - adds replay value =)

Not sure how to rate graphics and sound, since they aren't self-made...

LD28 — You Only Get One

Binary War by Jogy34 2013-12-16T04:06:00

Something different concerning the theme, really nice idea =)

It's really hard to see the enemies though (and their shots) because of the flashing background. And... it took me a while to "find" the button to restart (or actually start the game the first time :P)

Warrior by LPGhatguy 2013-12-18T00:23:00

Wow... I was prepared for a tough challenge reading the comments... I had an easy time - against the AI. Not sure, if I'd also win against a human (since there might be a timeout :P)
Just charge your attack, and wait for the enemy to charge his attack... while it's charging, just release your own attack. I'm not sure about the attack range - but this strategy worked very well with the Knight ^_^

The Colosseum by CryoGenesis 2013-12-16T21:28:00

Swinging the weapons serves for a lot of realism :P I hardly ever used the stabbing attack, due to the masses of enemies.
Nice entry! =)

But You Want One More by spx 2013-12-18T00:28:00

Crashes upon startup without any designated error message =/ Can't rate, sorry...

Constrained by Split82 2013-12-16T11:18:00

Nice little puzzle / jump'n'run combo. Too bad you didn't have enough time to design more levels (or whatever you call the sections between the safepoints) and add sounds. The graphics are quite basic, but very appealing - especially the parallax scrolling of the text gives an awesome effect!

Destructoblast by Doctor Broccoli 2013-12-18T17:10:00

SERIOUSLY?! (Oh my, I laughed really hard on that one)
Awesome game =)
The grenades seem to be bugged a bit - the arena is only damaged by them, if they fall through a hole... but if they land on solid ground, they don't damage the arena.. at least not visibly. (Win7 x64)

One Twisted Button by etabubu 2013-12-16T15:28:00

I died due to a signpost. Twice. Everything seems to be so... lethal :P I guess I'm just not a professional train runner^^

Pixel Factory by ZwodahS 2013-12-16T10:35:00

Running Win7, works without problems.

Nice mechanics =) I believe the timer is too short, you can't really maintain any resource flow... Replacement parts (even if not the same, could swap a duplicator with a part forwarder and get *some* output) are just generated by chance... I'm sure that you could take the game really far, just because I can't gain money here after 5 tries doesn't mean it's impossible ^_^

Leap of Faith by Ysty 2013-12-16T11:31:00

Reminds me a bit of portal^^ (are you sure there's not a portal gun hidden somewhere?)

I guess the accident means that you get freed from the simulation? :P

Servassacre by doonay21 2013-12-16T11:53:00

Wow... that game is *hard* - I can't really move a larger group than 4 minions at the same time, and even then it's hard to avoid the walls. Managed to "wake up" the guys in level 2, but the channel to go back is nearly impossible to pass...

There Is Only One Traitor by LukuluK 2013-12-18T16:55:00

Haha, great concept!
The UI was a bit confusing (you actually need to clic on the "You win" square, as it seems) but the gameplay is just great =) The face of the traitor when he kills you... priceless ^^

Moment of Interaction by Lockyy 2013-12-16T20:15:00

Nice thing to toy with. Seems to be some sort of "Idle Game" :P Checking back sometimes later - and the village is already huge ^_^ Good job!

YOGO - The Detective Story by psc1997 2013-12-16T12:39:00

Does the police and detectives really yell at a witness, threatening to arrest them, even if they are not guilty? /me shudders

Anyway - nice short story-based game with a lot of options to try =)

Treasurequest by andrewkennedy 2013-12-16T03:55:00

Nice graphics! Was there anything I missed during the bossfight? The loops I was going through didn't seem to contain any items (something I didn't try... keep the bomb, and be hit by the boss, then toss the bomb against the environment :P)

Good job!

parallelsync by 0x0961h 2013-12-20T12:15:00

That's a great gameconcept! Procedural levelgeneration is great, too - even if it creates trivial "puzzles" every now and then =)

Food Survival by van noctar 2013-12-18T12:38:00

Really funny game :P
One of the best things is, that the following guys can also fall over obstacles - at least it's fair that way ^_^

You Only Get One Earth by oskardevelopment 2013-12-16T21:36:00

Moving the units was also odd to me... I believe you need to wait one turn, before you can move them the first time...

Jameson The Pilot by rezoner 2013-12-18T11:26:00

Nice game! Loved the AI (they carried good selling resources, which helped to find some traderoutes for myself^^)

The combat-system isn't too great, since I never managed to evade enemy shots. My fights ended up with whoever had the better ship winning. But well... maybe that's just how it goes :)

Synesthesia by fullmontis 2013-12-17T14:23:00

I've never seen such detailed darkness ever before^^

Great game mechanics - totally loved rolling the mousewheel =)

Crystalline by X-0r 2013-12-16T16:26:00

That's because of my hacky upgrading system... "Repair" means "Repair planet", you spend all your energy to increase the resources which the humans are mining (I should have probably ommited that option, since you just lose the time you actually spent mining in the first place). To repair your damage, you need to click the "Armor+" button.

Crystalline by X-0r 2013-12-16T21:14:00

Ugh. The controls. I guess I'll never manage to make them intuitively correct. At least I know what I need to focus on during the next LD. :P

The reason for using the mouse to aim, but the keyboard to shoot is... I'm still not very experienced with events. I already needed a helper function to even toggle the key between pressed and not pressed - which is why I just assigned another key as the fire-button into the already working switch-statement.
Aiming is easily done without anything like that... just calling mouseX, and you already get the relative x-coordinate.

Sorry for the inconvenience =)

Crystalline by X-0r 2013-12-17T13:27:00

Post-Compo version with improved mouse controls is now online. I'm not really sure, if we are "allowed" to make these changes. You might want/have to rate the game according to the original SWF - therefore, I put [POST COMPO] to the link.

Crystalline by X-0r 2013-12-18T16:34:00

@Ras: Yes, unfortunately, there is only one level with increasing difficulty. I had a huge map in my mind initially, then I thought of linking together a few small ones... but I never came to that point.

@doctor: Yes. I agree. The GUI isn't really... existing (unless you count floating text). I had a lot of sci-fi style ideas, but never got to realize them on time =/

Thank all of you for your comments, they're helping me a lot to improve my future entries, and my understanding about what people expect in general :)

Alien Plant by internetpaulicy 2013-12-18T16:49:00

Oh yes. Down with humanity :D
Crashing buildings to see these guys fall down is just great ^_^ (luckily the plant doesn't mind dead bodies :P)

Only One World by j_stirk 2013-12-18T11:45:00

How about you add some explanation to your entry page? I'd really like to play this game properly, but I fail to understand the mechanics completely... I found out how to build and how to deactivate etc. But that's about it =/

Uno Terra by Diptoman 2013-12-17T17:17:00

Nice concept. Fitting the theme perfectly =)
I'm just not sure, if I got this correctly, but trees seem to decrease population growth... which doesn't really make sense to me... but anyhow - great game!

Agent LD28 by Steve | tacospice 2013-12-16T11:41:00

Who would think that a single shot can cause that much havok? :P The mechanics and interaction between the entities is awesome! Also loved the assignment texts^^ Good job!

Impoverished Starfighter by danbo 2013-12-17T13:58:00

Wow.... Awesome entry! Cool concept of ship upgrades - and an epic reversed coin sound when selling :P
One of the best jam submissions I played so far!

One Touch Of Music by KumoKairo 2013-12-18T19:57:00

More instruments would be great (then again... you only get one? ^^)
Not bad at all, but not really challenging either, once you know the "sound" of each color :)

Planet LD-28 by Tragon 2013-12-16T15:20:00

1 FPS... I'm so glad you didn't create that game for LD 27 (Theme: "10 seconds") xD

For a game, there are a bit too many adjustable parameters...
Maybe use difficulty presets, and add a customizable one. It's just that I prefer to play games the way they have been designed... without "modding"

Dare to Dig! by Mirroar 2013-12-16T22:08:00

Mining FTW! Nice pixel art, and really fun to play =)

Protoport by Und[0]ne Devs 2013-12-18T00:06:00

Wow... that's hard. Especially these thumpers keep killing me >:[
Cool game!

Isles of Solara by ashen 2013-12-18T15:46:00

Are there any shortcuts to lower the anchor and such? Would come in handy as emergency brake :P
Cool game, it's great to shoot down pirates and collect resources ^_^

Card Encounter! by Mechatodzilla 2013-12-16T16:16:00

Nice concept - it took me a while to find out what "choosing a card" actually meant for the game (when I started, I thought it would apply that damage directly^^)

Would be definitely nice to have more options in cards and such, but 48 hours isn't too much - good job!

Pilot's Last Stand by phi6 2013-12-16T20:11:00

Awesome game, reminds me a bit of the Descent-series.
Nice idea to include voice instructions, fitting perfectly.
Too bad that there's no audio for hitting the mothership, I almost was sad not to hear Command's voice after completing the mission ^_^

Robogenesis by JavadocMD 2013-12-16T19:22:00

A memory game with moving pieces. Definitely something new to me. I also like the graphical design a lot :)

Earth by george_prosser 2013-12-16T04:00:00

Wow... that game is hard... Masses of asteroids o.O
Liked the gravity-ish effect as they speed up when they are close (doesn't make it any easier, though) - also, it's great that you can actually damage the planet with your own gun :P

You Only Die Once by Arkrothe 2013-12-17T13:48:00

I think I died 5 times or so (but only once per try^^). Needed to check all the endings ^_^ Sharing, not sharing, stabbing before resting, stabbing right after, stabbing myself... I believe things like that show, how complicated it is to have a story with open endings... It's not possible to survive, right?

Light and Mirrors by Pantzar 2013-12-16T10:10:00

I like that neon-design, but I agree with the others on the particle count^^

There should be some indication about the mirror - what angle it is in, especially for these 45° parts, it would have been useful sometimes...

Weapon of Choice by Benedikt Vogler 2013-12-16T16:00:00

Well, destructible terrain is certainly awesome^^ Cool little game =)

A Space Game by SerialVelocity 2013-12-18T17:21:00

Oh yes, locking on enemies to blast them with rayguns =)
Almost beat the final boss, it only had one or maybe two cannons left... I might try is again in a while :)
The shift-key isn't too easy to reach for bullet-time (says the guy, who's game uses shift to activate shields^^) but it's an awesome ability to dodge!

Startrader by Nessic 2013-12-16T16:22:00

Sending ships around the universe, yay :P

Took me a while to figure out the controls, eventually could play it "seriously", but I never managed to gain the 1000$ required for the big red button.

You Only Get One by Ras Lyon 2013-12-18T12:30:00

Nice graphics =)
It's funny how you "learn" the types of events and how to counter them, the gameplay is sadly a bit repetitive.
The hardest part was to spot the society spots, these dark clouds were really hard to see...
The movement of the camera took me a while to get used to. Since all actions require the RMB (Turning planet, selecting resource, filling the leaks on the planet) - it might be a good choice to make the resources selectable via the numpad, or by using the mousewheel :)
It was fun to play it until the end; nice submission!

One Earth by seantheartist 2013-12-18T16:28:00

Hm. I seem to explode randomly. Apart from that, I loved destroying these oil platforms. Who needs oil anyway, when you got a couple of rudders attached to your ship :P

Dungeon Run by gusanolocovg 2013-12-16T15:02:00

An ASCII-roguelike in the good old console? Just... wow. Congrats on your submission =)

POLITICS SIMULATOR by gnargle 2013-12-16T15:11:00

Does the executable leave any data behind? I mean, it's great that you only can play it once, but... I don't want any remnants (cookies, ...) on my computer.

Apart from that, it's a nice text-adventure (I believe that's how you call the genre^^)

Only One Chance by johnfn 2013-12-18T10:55:00

Definitely the best game I played so far. Might come back later to "find" the secret ending, too. I read somewhere that it should have won as a compo entry - I like it the way it turned out for the jam, since the extra 24 hours surely made polishing it to that degree even possible.

Also... I checked the timelapse... in one of your composing sections, it only took you like 10 minutes (not sure which theme it was, though). You've created good music at an incredible speed. Congratulations!

Bermuda by Scifer 2013-12-18T11:35:00

When I tried playing the game, the menu seemed to be bugged... The text of the previously selected NPC didn't go away, making it impossible to read any other description =/
The intro should be skippable, it's great to look at it once (amazing graphics, especially when the plane goes down. Perfect use of particle systems!), but when retrying the game, I'd rather jump straight into action.

The Gourd of Water by Clutchford 2013-12-17T16:29:00

I get an error about a missing .dll: MSVCR100D.dll
Is there any way to fix this?

Unicode by natpat 2013-12-16T09:59:00

A dungeon random generator within 6 hours? Even if there isn't really much to *do*, it's a nice litte gameworld which you created. Might check the source for the ASCII-display, since I wanted to code one myself a while ago, but didn't know where to start^^

Defusement of the Pyong by Kvisle 2013-12-18T17:54:00

Pretty fun game =) Quite easy with 100 HP, though...
Would be great to be able to control the aim with the mouse.
I have no idea about WebGL, so I can only guess from the other comments that it's not easy to use :)
Good job!

Last Minute Christmas Chopping by Notch 2013-12-16T15:46:00

Down with the tentacles!!!

Unicycle Messenger by Sanguine 2013-12-17T14:17:00

My favorite one: The off-road (almost extreme) version :P
And of course the final one... I just loved going off-track as shortcuts ^_^

I never coded in GameMaker, but you might want to check the x/y speed of your unicycle as it crashes into a building - and let it bounce off with that speed instead of getting it stuck...

Anyhow, was fun to play :)

Destroy The Core by StabAlarash 2013-12-16T14:54:00

Reminds me of the good old death star II attack :P
Great graphics and lighting! Movement was okay, but... the "crosshair" was quite useless - probably, because the camera was slightly pointing downwards. (as much as "down" exists in space) I'm not suggesting to put the camera right behind the ship, it would only block the view and you'd only see the engines, but adding a second crosshair at a different depth would make it easier to predict, where the shots are actually going :)
BTW, huge plus for the intro, especially the part, when you approach the entry point, and your headlights fade in :)

Press X to Win by Lost King 2013-12-17T14:51:00

It was really hard to hold myself back from laughing :P
The game reminded me of a passage in Portal 2 ([Space] -> Say "Apple")

Bullet by GingerMess 2013-12-17T16:43:00

My targets seem to like hats a lot. Maybe there's a connection... <:[

Drain by hydancer 2013-12-16T19:17:00

This is really a great entry!
Cool graphics and sound, neat gameplay. The scrolling was a bit tedious, though... is there any way to zoom out? (similar to your screenshots)

Ultimate Wish by Carduus 2013-12-18T15:57:00

Awesome artwork! It was quite hard to estimate the angle of the shot. The hard part is really... hard btw. ^_^

Monoskill by Smitty333 2013-12-16T10:49:00

Took me a while to actually use the swapping thoughtfully. The AI isn't too smart and enemies overlap frequently... but it's still fun blasting them to pieces :P

Immortality by Kane 2013-12-18T15:26:00

Yay! ASCII roguelikes for the win ^_^
It doesn't even have too overcomplicated mechanics (I still hit "Q" to Quaff - instead of P for Potion. Oh well :P
Awesome game!

ONE COLOR by howieV (binarygirl) 2013-12-17T16:13:00

I kinda like the concept of a "level down" upon death.
Congrats on creating your own music and sfx, I know how time consuming it can be =)

LD30 — Connected Worlds

Hex by datahaven 2014-08-28T00:38:00

I agree with madk, the AI isn't really hard. Not sure, if you invented the game rules, but they allow for some nice strategies :)

Sky Crystal Adventure by George 2014-08-25T17:47:00

Very nice game! It was really fun to solve the puzzles :)

Epic Galactic Conquest by madk 2014-08-26T22:27:00

The game starts out really slowly... I wish there were some enemies, or anything trying to stop you. But for the (very) short time - good job!

Tinyverse by Xaychru 2014-09-15T20:33:00

Haha, awesome mechanics! It was really fun, glueing all these planets together^^

Blend and Bobble by rezoner 2014-08-26T23:34:00

Cool game, loved the background music! The order seems to be a bit hard to grasp. I mean, I could usually tell the last color needed, but the first two were quite hard to guess...

GET Connected by sephyka 2014-09-09T13:32:00

These are just about the best flash graphics I ever saw! Amazing job!

Flicker by PapaCheech 2014-09-14T22:27:00

Great visuals and audio! I also liked the enemy AI variations =)

Solar System Hero by X-0r 2014-08-25T16:14:00

Damn, sorry about that =/ I'll remove the link...

Solar System Hero by X-0r 2014-08-25T17:36:00

It's supposed to be impossible to solve each map without using carrier ships... Depending on the planet type, some resources can be produced more efficiently - the rest needs to be taken in by carriers.

To guide your ships, you need to click on the "gearwheel", it's to the right of the screen, next to each ship in your fleet. If you click the "help" button in the overview, you can get more information about how to play... I also included a detailed walkthrough in the game description. I initially planned for an ingame tutorial aswell, but the time wasn't really sufficient for that :(

Solar System Hero by X-0r 2014-08-25T23:09:00

A YouTube-tutorial is now online, for everyone interested :)

Solar System Hero by X-0r 2014-08-27T12:51:00

Thanks for the feedback, everyone!

@Floko: You might want to check out my YouTube video, it should show you the mechanics^^

Solar System Hero by X-0r 2014-09-15T21:28:00

I totally agree! Putting the surplus/demand values next to the planets would have made the game both easier to understand and easier to play.

Depending on the results, I'll either work with the concept, refining the mechanics and everything (and most importantly UI and controls), or try creating something new entirely :)

Interplanetary by mactinite 2014-08-25T17:31:00

Took me a while to find out, who is good and bad. Seems like everything wants to kill you^^
I liked the map overview, but I almost never spotted my own ship. Some sort of marker would be helpful :)

Celestial Impact by Boodog 2014-08-27T23:30:00

Cool game! It's really hard to master, but fun to play. It took me like 2 levels to know what the different colors meant - connected worlds^^

Dominions'n'dominoes by Benjamin 2014-09-14T23:54:00

Cool game mechanics and design!

I must admit that I haven't played many games of that genre so far. It was a bit hard to get into but became "easier", once I started planning ahead.

I didn't beat the AI yet, but victory will be mine soon!

Chipset-0 by deepnight 2014-09-15T21:42:00

Incredible game! Good job!

Two Islands by Donutttt 2014-08-25T20:39:00

My highscore was 21310 ^_^ The computer had about a quarter of it. Loving these cellular automata :) Simple concept to grasp, but great gameplay!

AlienScape by Kerdelos 2014-09-15T21:03:00

Now that's a different perspective! Loved the mechanics of the traps, too :)

Inverted | Endless Runner by oranebeast 2014-08-25T15:45:00

Cool stuff! The game was really fun to play, and challenging aswell.

Btw, I also encountered the "random death bug" - maybe you have a second level running in parallel or something?

Pink Parent by Maxom 2014-08-25T17:03:00

It was really fun to connect the small pieces to bigger ones, until everything is one big system!

To Hell and back by Shujal 2014-08-25T15:54:00

Loving the retro graphics!
I miss the ability to strafe, and a crosshair (sometimes, I didn't know, if I hit something)
Nice game concept, too :)

100 Days by CJ K 2014-09-15T20:51:00

Great game! I wish there was a gamemode without timelimit aswell :)

Troika - how long will you cooperate? by Tomker 2014-08-25T18:05:00

I couldn't rotate the planets, and the concept of energy was a bit unclear to me - how can you get it in the first place?
It was quite fun to blast hundreds of meteors apart, though =)

Alterned Realities by Norfinel 2014-08-25T15:31:00

Wow... that game is fast! Did you consider "deltaTimes" between frames to adapt for the speed? I couldn't really test your game properly, because the turret spinned like 10 times per second :(

IRMCO Space Miners by Josh H 2014-08-26T23:11:00

Nice one! It started to lag on my PC after a while, but otherwise - very smooth gameplay :)

Permeable Connected Worlds by MyougaHiroshi 2014-08-25T16:35:00

Took me a while to find the... item... needed to win the game.
Cool effects, like the different colors or "looking around", before you are being chased.
I liked the game a lot!

Invaders From Another World by Love Albatross 2014-08-25T16:13:00

Your game is really fun - especially, if you fire faster than the enemies are coming. The fixed jumping height is a bit of a challenge, but it would be too easy otherwise.
Also, congrats on your physics engine, the way the enemies react to your shots makes you almost feel the impact of the bullets :)

MS. PORTAL MAN by nickculbertson 2014-08-25T16:05:00

Lovely graphics, and cool design. It's good to be able to rely on the order of where the blades come from. Makes it easier to plan (and to facepalm, if you forget the connections again)
The bottom-left portal is a bit tricky, because you fall down from the same area as the enemies... I suicided that way more than once.

Hack the Mainframe by Candlite 2014-09-15T00:15:00

Cool mechanics! It could be a bit more complex, but we all know how limited the time is... Good job!

Spectral Divide by rmeier 2014-09-15T00:37:00

Very cool usage of the RGB system! I especially liked the general overview, where you could actually see the mixed colors.
Also, the method of storing seeds using actual readable words makes remembering old levels so much easier :)

Elementry by FineSpun 2014-08-26T23:22:00

I liked the way enemies swarm at you, and combining action with a bit of thinking to actually use the correct weapon.

Switching the firemode is a bit counter-intuitive though :( I need the left hand for movement already, so it's hard to reach the keys.

Not sure if it's a bug, but... going diagonally makes you move faster. Anyhow, nice flashy graphics, even if more enemy types would be appreciated :)

Clashing Galaxies by lkr 2014-09-14T22:18:00

The game's really hard, but fun to play nonetheless!
Great music, too :)

Connected Collective by Aumni 2014-08-26T23:43:00

The bridges build very slowly for me, but it's definitely worth the wait ^_^
Playing other characters, and using their abilities is really cool!

Reticulum by MattThePie 2014-08-27T23:09:00

Is there really only one level, which can't be beaten? I managed to control the left guy (who was not trapped), but couldn't really do anything, besides killing off all enemies, including those behind the lasers...

ConnGame by TeamConn 2014-08-27T22:53:00

Not sure if it was supposed to be that way, but I was able to create more than one portal... a lot of them, actually^^

Great job on the responses of the player character, sometimes it was a bit snappy, but it played it's role just perfectly well :D

And yeah... searching through 2500 games isn't exactly the greatest method, so I admit that I made use of the rot13. It does fit the theme really well, though ^_^

Icecream and World Domination by KigurumiDevs 2014-08-27T23:45:00

The game didn't fit my vertical screen resolution... I wish there was a fullscreen option, or something to adapt the resolution... Still, it was fun to fire a few rockets, lasers and poison warheads :D

Super Galactic Trader by JoeDev_net 2014-08-27T13:31:00

Cool puzzle game! I was a bit scared about the warning that it's hard to play. The only really hard thing was the tactical DEconnection at the correct time.

Sol by Mali 2014-08-25T20:01:00

Nice and quick game!
Not sure, why there's a maximum fuel #/10, but you probably planned it to be regenerable. Anyhow, thanks for sharing your work!

Space Age by john111898 2014-08-28T00:16:00

I'd really like to try this game, and I can see the buttons and the tiles - however the menu is blank. It's white with red horizontal stripes... And there are buttons to close it, but I still can't really play that way :(
