Very cool for what it is. You could definitely take it a lot farther too. I wish I could rate you on controls, because I found it a little frustrating ;^) a hover ability would be great, because the jump was hard to manage. But I love the theme of throwing the baby to defeat enemies, it really tied into the theme well. Thanks for the game!
Thanks for the Christmas-themed game! I love knocking over the tree. The difficulty is pretty steep, but love the charm of this game!
Very nice. It played very slowly for me. Maybe my browser? It's good, but maybe too similar to other professional games. Novelty is important for smaller games.
Neato! Lot's of potential there. I wish I could have full hit points between battles. I had a hard time understanding the Attach/Defense screen at first, and I wish I could most cards after setting them down (even if you can't switch them between Attack / Defense) still, very novel and cool. Would be excellent multiplayer!
Great art, and the mechanics played really well too. But the concept was weird. Am I trying to avoid girls and get further to the village to get the best one or something? I can't control which one I pick up. Shows promise, lots of talent!
Wow, you make us all look bad! This is really high quality! Thanks for the great game.
Heheh, that's kinda fun. Lot's of room for expanding on it. I appreciate that everything is generated randomly, but it would be fun to see some stages that were a bit more planned. I think an over-the-shoulder like view would make it more exciting as well. Still, it's neato!
Hahah, I love this. Super hard because I don't have a number pad. It's like the typing games we'd play in Junior High. I think words would be more accessible than numbers. The design is fantastic, in one look you understand the scenario. COol!
What a strange experience. Just mash on space bar repeatedly right? Wow, you only get one... button! I don't think you need the other arrow icons. Because the action hero just kinda runs on auto.
That's fun, I like the bouncing of the harpoon. I wish I was better at judging how it would bounce. Like a trajectory guide or something. Fun!
I wish I could play your game, but I don't have windows. :^(
I'd thought about this concept, so I'm curious to see how it turned out for you!
I like the drawing style. But a little more walk animation and interaction would be nice. Scarry Christmas!
My Hi-Score: 19400
Simple but fun. Thanks for the game!
That was cool. I'd like a larger stage, and does it repeat for every level? It took me awhile to realize that you need to destroy the base. I like how there are different goals you have to think about, and mecha is always cool.
Very cool. Great economy of style, theme, and mood etc. Cool music too. But it's not quite done? The music would cut out part way, and I'd get to the end of the stage and nothing would happen. I thought the controls could be better. I could not remember which color was mapped to which button. The zombies may be a little too fast also. Or maybe have them at different speeds so that they don't bunch up like that. BUT! There's an ineffable quality to the piece, it's very cool.
Really really solid. More than I'd hoped for. I don't usually go in for these kinds of games, but the mood was excellent. Still, I wish it was a little more guided, kind of felt like I was wandering aimlessly, and just spent my accusation as soon as I got tired of playing. Still, super cool for what it is!
I like the general idea, needle in a haystack, right?
Ha! I love the idea! Really great color and design.
Aww man... What a terribly sad scenario... It's a really solid experience for what it is. But, man it's sad.
I wish I could play this, but me have no PC :^(
Was that a game? I think it was more like a neat cutscene. Definitely intriguing with great music.
I don't know why they ever gave me the missle! I fly like I'm coming out of a comma. There is so much right going on in this game, so the down sides are that much more stark. I wish I could see more of the environment and not just the inside of the ship. I also found the control frustrating. I guess I'm a inverted guy. Still, really impressive!
Oh wow, that was essentially perfect. I was really into that. Kinda felt like I was playing the Last of Us or something. Looked great, played great, the only thing I can't give full marks to is sound. Very cool.
Wow. I don't really care for Joss Whedon, so I didn't know what to expect. But I appreciated the games sense of humor.
I wish I could play this, but I'm a Mac user. We both went for the Only One Planet theme.
OK, thanks for the message. I'll look into Love2D and check out your game and rate it. I'm always up for learning about a new game software. Please return the favor!
I'd like to play it, but I couldn't figure out how to run it.. :^(
It feels so good to control. Real classic fun. But what is the 'only one' theme?
That was neat. I think I got kinda far. I think the cavern was a little big. Sometimes is was neat to be walking down a long hallway towards the light, other times I was left wondering "how much further?..." I felt a sort of dialogue between creator and player, I enjoyed getting items and seeing how they'd be used. Thanks for the game!
Oh, thank you j_stirk! I'll get on that ASAP.
OK, Windows link is fixed. Please rate us!
Thanks mactinite! I'll return the rating favor. Cheers.
Thanks Phi6. Yeah, the game picks up from the 2nd stage. The 1st stage is pretty slow...
Thank you Caranha, very constructive comments! If my partner is up for it, I'd like to pursue your suggestions. Keyboard change is cool, and more of tutorial would be helpful. I think a "save" system is needed. So you don't have to start back at the beginning if you time out. Thanks for playing to the later stages! I'm going to check out your title!
Thanks for the comments and rates! It's funny, because we never even thought about setting the resource selection to the keyboard...*facepalm*
Yeah, I think it would be more fun on an iPhone. I think where we messed up is that the first stages are too long. I think it gets interesting later on... but honestly, while I'm playing, I want it to end. But after it ends, I just want to play it again. Weird, huh. Next time we'll try to find the fun!! This time we were just trying to make it work! hahah
Wow! Excellent constructive review ShellfishGames, thank you! I like your suggestions, especially for rotating the camera. It's been a great suggestion to map the resources to buttons. Stage length has been the largest revelation for myself. This is our first attempt at LD. So learning a lot! おかげさまで!
Wow, I'm impressed. But why does the other team get two players? It's hard enough, huh.
Very good effort! But, I had to turn down my mouse sensitivity because the camera was out of control. Also I tried several times, but couldn't get past the fallen barrels. But excellent environment, mood, theme, and sound!
Very cool! Great music, graphics, and mood. I wish I could speed up or skip the intro. If you choose the wrong person, it should just let you choose someone else right away. Also, because the way it was worded, I thought I was choosing who would live. So I was surprised! It'd also be nice to see them die...right?
Neat, I like how much the concept has been developed in both the gameplay, narrative, and setting. Great quality all around. It seems like a game they would have on lumosity.com or something. It's really difficult to control both at the same time. It's funny that the theme is you only get one, because we've got two! Great quality.
Wow, my first impression was that this could be a paid game. But I ended up getting frustrated early. It's a really fantastic concept, the kind of thing I've daydreamed about before. But the movement of the ball is a little too unpredictable. Still... wow.
Wow... 48 hours? This is excellent. Solid, all the way around. Thanks for the game!
Retro goodness! I dominated with the multi-shot! I wish that enemy bullets were easier to see. When I start to think of constructive criticisms, I have to remember one guy did all of it!! Then it's super impressive!
Neat, but yeah too hard. I wish the design were a little tighter, for such sparse graphics maybe less scale would be appropriate. It's all so well made, with great sound and controls. But, it's somehow lacking in the fun factor. Having to stop and be delayed for both shooting and summoning is little weak. Sorry to be so harsh, it's just that this really is a great project! Thanks for the game!
