Nice little game. Well played :)
Love difficult games too. Had fun, thanks ! :D
Funny game, good job :)
Cool idea :) Nice job
Great mood. Had a little difficulty with controls :(
Nice executed ! Love the chara-design, good job ! :D
So bad for the intro... :( But cool graphics, and a funny game !
Great work for a 3 hours dev, and discovering a soft !
Good graphic style :) Nice
Well done ! Had a lot of fun :)
Nice graphics, and also nice game. Liked it pretty much :)
Like the idea pretty much ! As it was said, the difficulty starts too high :( But nice job !
I +1 errorage ! But I had fun doing it ! :)
That's a funny game with nice graphics ! But I couldn't finish it too :( !
Graphics are cool, but I'm a little bit disapointed by the "GO" and the Title screen :(
Good game "yolo style" :p
Good graphics, nice job !
Great concept ! Very well played ! ;)
Tried this game because of the LOTR ref. ! And I really enjoyed it ! ;)
Way too hard. I think the idea was great, but you should make difficulty a bit easier.
Really had fun with this game ! Nice work :)
Love graphics and audio ! Death by spikes for me !
Nice graphics :) Well played !
Love the graphics though ! Simple but effective, nice job !
Gave you 5 in humor and fun :) Well done.
So bad for the zombie-spawn instakill :(
Nice entry, good job :) !
Impressive game, but I'm not good enough to finish it, haha !
Can't go over lvl1. Maybe because I had no mouse. But love the concept, good job :)
Had fun for the first levels :) Good job.
Really great cause *applause*. Very nice entry, well done.
Original concept. Liked it pretty much ! :)
Nice artworks. It would be even better if the animation was a bit more developped. And the more you kill enemies, the more you wait. A little viariation of tempo should be enough to make this game addictive !
Nice work !
Love concept and graphics. Had a lot of fun playing this, even if it's a bit hard ! Great job !
Love the "wtf-style" :3 Good job !
Nice start, and nice first LD. Keep goin' !
Absolutely amazing graphics O.O
Very nice idea :) Graphic style is a bit simple, but it works for me !
Difficult game, but very intersting idea :) Nice.
Awesome graphics ! Very well played !
Cool concept ! Congratz
Nice graphics and narrative ! Liked it !
Nice dynamics / game ! I only played one minute, I'll take my time later :)
Nice little game, but I also experienced the low FPS problem. Sure it'll be better with higher one ! Good job !
Love the mood of this game, and the idea is very nice too :)
Love the idea of "One Bitcoin" ! Well played ! ;)
Very, very good entry. It definitely has its place on applestore :p
Too bad I'm currently on a laptop. Found it hard to play :( Bug good game anyway !
Good concept ! I think it would be great to work on it a little bit more !
Good little game :) Maybe graphics are a bit simple.
Nice game ! Good luck ;)
Good entry for a second LD !
Please continue with this project. Nice idea, wanna see it finished ! Nice job ! It was my first LD jam too, i'm pleased to see other games from beginners like me :)
First puzzlegame I test, good job !
Congrats guys !
Addictive Gameplay, and cool graphics. Nice job !
Good story, good job ! ;)
Thanks a lot :) !
@romandtom : I've made this game as my Curriculum Vitae. I'm currently student in Game and Graphic Design, and i'm searching a 6 months internship. I took the Ludum Dare opportunity to make an original, interactive CV which present my abilities and all the games I've made :)
@Scifer : The grey colors are used to make contrast with the three different games :) It also represent the grey color of the walls of my school (seems like a jail to me... :D)
And thanks for the comments :)
Thanks Jack !
I hope too ! Thanks a lot. It's really nice to have support from other game creators :)
Thanks a lot :)
I really thank you all :) So cool to have your support !
Thank you ! :) Appreciate all your comments, and I know that we're a lot goin through this ordeal :p
Thanks again for your support !
I know for the text...A little adjustement I had no time to fix. I'll do it as soon as possible !
Thank you ! ;)
Sorry :( I'm actually searchin' how to do a Web version !
Thank you all for the support :) I take all of your advices ! They're really useful to me(I'll call a friend of mine, native english speaker. He'll tell me what goes wrong with the grammar, thanks ^^)
@MrBlade, well, your comment is awesome, and very precious. Thank you !
@ENDESGA : for the lack of graphics, time was against me :( Leading this project alone forced me to make choices. But I certainly will take the time to make something cleaner as soon as possible. Thanks a lot for the feedback !
Thanks for your support !
Hey, good job ! Really enjoyed to play this game. I even finished it with my trackpad o/
Very nice, at the end you can take few minutes following the move of the mass of animals... :) Poetic and nice to watch too.
The graphics are just amazing. Really clean, really nice. I feel some FFIX inspiration for the enemies-design ?
Great job to the team !
Well played ! Funny game, enjoyed it !
Nice graphic style ! Original :)
I had no mouse to play. But I'll retry later. Seems like a good game !
Love the mood and the narration. But the zone to click on isn't exactly on the text, which makes the experience less immersive. Great job anyway !
Interesting graphics :) Well done.
Nice controls, and nice plateformer. I enjoyed it well, even if the simple graphics feared me at the beginning :) They're finally easy to watch !
Nice job ! And graphics are smooth :) Liked it !
Nice concept ! Well played.
Had problem to run it too :(
Like the reference ! Good job for the ring, aha !
Very nice writing, and an interesting idea ! Would love to read a novel based on that kind of story. Well played !
As the others said, great mechanics ! Pretty cool game, good job !
Very nice game, with beautiful pixel art, stress and fun ! :) Good job !
Good graphics, simple but with a great style ! Good job !
Nice game ! A bit punitive but love the minigames also :) Good job !
Great idea, but maybe a little bit repetitive. Nice job anyway !
Too bad for .love :(
Great implementation of theme, as Piscythe said. Can't play a lot because I'm at work, but will do it again :D
Zombies always work ! Nice entry, good job :)
Love the pictures :) Nice work !
Good graphics, cool game :) Nice job !
Enjoyed it ! Thanks ;)
Love that old-school thing. Nice work !
Pretty cool ! Well done :)
Great style ! Like the graphics and the idea pretty much :)
Nice looking entry ! And so is the atmosphere. Nice job !
Not shure I totally understood the game. But looks pretty nice.
Too bad you've not implemented a "try again button". We have to wait and it breaks dynamics.
Good game ! Enemies'run animation seems bugged, but I really enjoyed the multiple choices at the end of each lvl :) Nice job !
Good game :) I will take time to re-test it later, but seems really fun !
Great graphics and ambiance :)
Shame on you to have done a game on MLP, hahaha ! But what a pleasure to make it die !
Joking, well played that's a good entry ;p
I enjoyed this game. Especially graphic design (background is pretty cool !) Good job !
Love the background and the "all-black" design. Well played !
Really nice art. Cool details, I had a lot of fun with that one :)
Would be good if all the sprites had the quality of the main character.
Maybe your awves are a bit slow too :)
Very nice game ! And a great level design, had much fun watching a bud playing it !
Really enjoyed it ! Nice job, from a fan of the art of Storytelling. Happy to see that this kind of game is still practiced !
Very well played. That's an addictive game. I played several times, and I will again !
Good game, and absolutely fan of the title screen o/ !
Really like the concept of this game ! Nice job !
Great graphics, congratz !
Also loved the explosion ! But as it's said, better graphics would have been a big plus :)
As zconnelly said, it would be nice to see more levels ! Well played !
Really great game ! Make me think about an indie game I saw few days ago, even if I can't remember the name of it.
Graphics are simple but very smooth. Love it :)
The game is maybe a bit short, and the graphics a bit simple. But it's an interesting one :)
Good job ! Went to level 3 and then failed...Bug great game, well played.
Maybe graphics are a bit simple and repeated.
Very awesome work !
I just can't imagine how you managed the time limitation. You must have made days of 30h O.O
Really great job
Yay, a train simulator ! Well played, even if I don't particularly like trains, I had fun :)
The mood is great, and the music is too. Well played !
I join esayitch, it could have been bigger.
But nice, anyway
Nice shot. Even if the graphics could be improve, good game ! :)
Nice adaptation of the theme :) But the "no-wall" thing made me crazy haha !
Good job
Love the atmosphere. It was a really nice experience, but as icedvariables said, it could be a bit more challenging :) Well done !
My 5 stars for the mood and graphics, which are absolutely amazing :) Well done !
Nice shot !
Back to the basics of the roleplaying game. I will definitely finish this one when I have enough time :)
The game is really fun ! Too bad we can't see more characters from different universes.
Good job, though :)
A few bugs, and the GUI isn't truely clear, but the idea is great and the game is good and absolutely in the theme !
Well done !
Nice mechanics ! The theme is well executed here. The music is...absolutely tetris-like (still got it in my mind and I played 5 min. ago).
Like the way you teach the mechanics, though :)
Realy nice shot !
Absolutely fan of the art, btw !
Liked the all mood :) The theme is also well incorporated. Nice work !
Make a god game in 48h is quite a challenge. Nice try, though !
And thanks for sharing the difficulties you've encountered :)
Always interesting.
thanks a lot ! :)
Oh, sorry for the web link ! Miss clic, though ! I remove it right now
For the controls...I thought about a QWERTY version a bit late in the night, and as I'm french, I originally made it for an AZERTY keyboard... u.u Sorry for that (dunno if I can update the game with a QWERTY version or if that's forbidden ?)
Thanks Robinerd!
Hahaha ! Had not enough time to deal with that level of collision :p
But as a powerful witch, you're able to switch to the earth world and unlock yourself ! ;)
Thanks a lot Louis :) See ya!
I just have to agree that an integrated tutorial would have been great, since I wanted to make one but...no time, you know these things :) I will definitely do one as soon as I have time for it.
Also, @local minimum, you're absolutely right. As I'm french, my V and B are just over the space bar, so shooting and then using skills were alright to me. I just said "I will put a QWERTY binding as soon as I've finished that featu...what ?! Already 2:30 am ?! heeeeeell...".
And that's how the game was done with a really counter-intuitive binding :( Sorry for that ! I will start in a QWERTY version next time ! Promis ;)
@nerd burglars = thanks a lot ! I really appreciate. I wish the game was longer too ! And may be there will be a better version one day :) I like what I've got here (and that's not so often, in my case, haha !)
Nice shot !
Love the mechanics, and really had fun playing the first two levels :)
I'll finish it ASAP :)
The art is pretty cool, despite what you said ! Love the mood, and the "unite" of the group is pretty awesome, though. I killed one guy, just for fun, but as ViliX said, the run and don't fight seems to be the right strategy.
+1 for the "non-violent" message of the game :)
Cheers !
Very nice idea ! The controls on keyboard were a bit hard (forced to keep walking to change direction) but after a while it made a great part of the fun !
Great game. Good job to all the team ;)
The concept is really good, but it seems to much "wall of text".
Mechanics work well, though
The concept is really good, but it seems to much "wall of text".
Mechanics work well, though, and the story is nice :)
One of the best game I've played since the beginning. The mood is amazing. And the animation...wow !
Just a comment, I think you could improve a bit the keyboard binding :)
Nice shot ! ;)
You should re-work a bit on the difficulty (maybe think about a difficulty curve with less rocks after a while / more gravity which could speed up the game and make it more and more difficult !)
For now, if you reach the top of the screen you just have to keep clicking and you never loose. But anyway, pretty game :)
Cheers !
Pretty nice game ! The controls are a bit hard to get, but in the end it's pretty fun to play.
I really loved the mood (relaxation music is awesome in space) and the cam. movements are so cool :)
Definitely not a jam game, but something to develop more to make it a complete great game !
Keep going, and thanks for the experience :)
Nice idea :) The jump sound is a bit too loud compare to the music, and as we often have to jump, I had to play without sound after two min haha !
But pretty cool game, good job !
Love the character, though :D
Pretty amazing work. Love the mechanic, and pretty much looking like my game on the paper (a wizard who travels between two worlds), but totally different on application !
You really did a good job, and there's a great level design with growing difficulty. Do an app, and I buy it :)
Loved graphics and music ! Made me think a lot about Happy Tree Friends ! (especially when you die...hahaha that's so hard !)
Great overall, the mechanics are pretty cool and the gameplay often switch from one to another. In two words : Liked it !
I've tried to launch it, but it definitely don't work :(
Great graphics, and very nice gameplay feeling too. Well done, one of my fav. so far !
As some mates already said, it was kind of hard to play alone, but challenging !
Thanks for the game :)
DMC jam game ! Love the idea ! Nice shot ;)
I reaaaaaaally had fun with that game ! :D
Known mechanics, but damn it works so good ! One of my favourite so far (fun-speaking :) )
Great game, thought ! Well done !
Special mention for the level art, which is pretty awesome..
5 stars for the mood. I finished the game, and I've to admit that the mecanic is great !
I wish I could use it in more different ways, well done !
Awesome concept !
With a bit more polish (family members' comments, like Germanunkol said), it could be really great :)
I had to take time to get it about the rooms (like some other fellows), but great game !
Nice work on the graphics, and original design though :)
My five stars for the theme interpretation. It's a very clever choice, nicely done (what a work on the "GUI", though!)
Good job!
Nice shot ! Like the idea, and the way it's been executed (the snowman gave you a bonus star on Humor ;p). Well played guys :)
Great mood, and nice pictures!
I join others, I wish I had more than one chance to make it before I loose.
Great, and original concept, though. Well done!
win on the first try, haha !
Well done, the game is pretty fun and the graphi style is good :D
Pretty fun ! I made a couple of runs.
Hard but makes me want to try and try again, great job !
Nice entry ! Graphics are nice. GUI a bit less, but anyway, I had fun !
Nice concept and interpretation of the theme :) Well done !
Remind me of "Don't Starve" :)
Nice shot, even if it was a bit difficult (food & water decrease quickly !).
Thanks ! :)
Thanks Meta-link !
@joppiesaus, I had in mind to give less time per hacker over a certain score, but had no time for this... :(
It also explain the few bugs, unfortunately. But will polish it asap!
Thanks again, and yeah, censorship sucks :)
@dsoft 20 & davient, yeah, I'm awared about the collisions bug. As my knowledge in coding is limited, that's the kind of stuff I wasn't able to get over in 48h, unfortunately :(
Sorry for that, hope it still was a good experience, though!
@asobitech sure, but imho censorship isnt' a solution to illegal download. There are other ways to make people pay for something, and illegal download can be seen as part of marketing (HBO thanks the illegal download for making Game of Thrones one of the most viewed show in US).
Well, debate on torrent and stuff has no end, but still censorship is NOT why the internet was intended for, though :)
Did you like the game, anyway ?
@PlasterPhantom thanks a lot!
Glad you liked it :)
Finlal, there's no audio 'cause I made the sounds but not the music (that's why I'm in the Jam category, and not in the compo on).
So, as I didn't do it myself, I decided to remove that category :)
Thanks a lot :)
Haha nice !
Oui, le problème de résolution s'est posé malheureusement...J'ai voulu travailler un peu trop en HQ, et choisir le 1920x1080 n'était pas forcément une très bonne idée.
Une erreur que je ne referai pas :)
Thanks Roan! :)
Haha, glad you noticed Srakowski!
And thanks Arcturus for the nice words!
Haha will, noticed for the next jams! ;)
Valeour, could you explain a bit more ? I'd like to hear your point of view :)
@Tifu, known issue, and truely sorry for that...I made the mistake to make the game in a High rez, but had no time to add lower rez...
Have no clue if I can upload a fix for it, though ?
Thanks for the kind words, hbocao ! Glad you liked it despite the bugs :)
My 5stars for the Theme :)
Would love to see the chopper, but anyway, the game works and the little scenario make it deeper.
Zombies are a pain in the a$$ (work as intended, I'm sure !), so it's even more awesome to kill them all !
Great job, mate.
Best game I've seen so far...
The level of polish is absolutely amazing, I'd say the game is nearly finished and adding more content would make it a complete game.
Well played, great work from all the team!
Well, good game. Maybe lacks a bit of feedback to make the kill easier.
My 5s for the fun, my roomate and I had a lot of fun. All my respect for the C++ thing, though.
As it was said before, maybe you could polish a bit the power-ups, but anyway, great job!
Liked the mood of this entry :)
As others said, it may lacks a bit of background information. Well done, though!
As others said, fun but hard game. Graphics are not "originals", but it works like that! I did a couple of tries, thanks for the experience :)
The game is well executed :) Graphics are awesome, congrats !
I'll say, as others, that the strike "z" makes it hard to kill anybody.
I've search for the "single screen", and I think the scrolling is an easy answer to the theme.
But well done, anyway !
My 5 stars for the theme interpretation !
I wish I could play this game with combat :(
Nice goal and pretty cool context. Jump sound is maybe a bit too loud, though :p
Well done!
I had the idea of a game using camera switch. You made it happen :)
Maybe the level design could be polished and improve, but still, that's a nice entry.
Good job :)
Nice game, but the difficulty (randomness) could benefit of a bit of polishing :)
Nice entry, anyway!
The concept is really great !
There's multiple way to play it, love that kind of stuff :)
Best replay value I've seen so far for LD31
Love the switching channel feature :) The theme interpretation is nicely done, but the game is quite hard imho!
Anway, great job! (+1 for the RRR, which made me think abuot VVVVV :p)
Nice tribute to Mr. Pong who unfortunately left us few days ago.
A (bad) coincidence, though ? :)
Still, the association of the two gameplays works, nice entry!
Nice entry ! Gaphics are simple, but great, and the overall is pretty good :)
For the difficulty issues, I ask my roomate to play the game during its developpement.
Friends & Family are good for balancing :D
It's great being honest for the assets!
The mood is awesome, and game is great. I'll take some time to play it more these days !
Nice job :)
Graphics are pretty cool, but the jump feeling coule benefit from polishing. It makes the game a bit hard, but I enjoyed it anyway :)
Pretty nice entry :)
Pretty cool :) Graphics & effects are great ! Why did you choose not to be rated on it ?
VDZ said a lot of things about your game, and his feedback is pretty complete.
I'll just add a thing, about the graphic part. Actually, art has its own style, but GUI seemed to be done in a hurry.
Never under-estimate the GUI stuff, it's part of the game too :)
Feedback apart, it's a really cool game, well done!
Little game, but love the idea haha.
A pretty mix between the forever alone guy and the "fuuuu" one :D
My five stars to the mood of the game. I was instantely propulsed in your universe. Also the game is really smooth, and the camera has been worked well.
Had big troubles to understand what to do with the "boss fight", but I liked to have to go back and forth in the room to finally discover the escapism of the child's Dreams.
Well, well thought.
Cheers!
Good job guys.
i tried it with a friend, we had a good laugh. nobody does local multiplayer games nowadays...
thanks
Cute and crazy design, leading to a very specific mood :)
As some others said, adding some elements to make diversity in the gameplay experience could have helped a bit :)
Well played anyway!
Good ol'fashioned game! Great execution, and a nice art with again ol'fashion colors. Prety well paced, I really enjoyed playing it! Well done :)
One of the strongest entries I've seen so far. Everything is smooth and well thought (even that "jump" mechanic). Visuals are also awesome :)
Very well played!
At first, I thought the game would be easy to play. But after a couple of drinks served, things weren't so easy after all.
The fun is here, and manage drinks + ice on different "stages" is a good idea, as you need to keep an eye on everything (and by as asynchronous as you can to score max)!
Very good entry, well done!
i was a bit lost at first but then i understood what i was supposed to do! (sorry i'm slow). interesting litte story. The drawings are a nice touch! Gameplay a bit slow indeed, but it's normal for that sort of games i guess!
Like the concept of doing a parkour game. It's a good take on 3Cs (being able to crawl on plateforms).
The sound of Kotor's movement was a little bit annoying, tho :)
I like that game, it's was fun to multi task with the keyboard and my mouse, but one thing annoyed me unfortunately. The fact that it's difficult to serve somebody, you should may be just program that if you have the right beer and you walk on the right guy that's ok! it would be cool as well. thanks for sharing that interesting game anyway sir
Hello there! There is a nice idea behind the game, but I just had big troubles playing it. I guess my AZERTY keyboard didn't helped much on that point!
Mechanics are fun to use, and even if it's hard to figure out at first how to get things done, it's working fine after all.
Nice work on the animation, and the different ideas are pretty interesting.
Maybe making each method to capture a monster a little bit less obvious could have make the game a bit more challenging. Well done!
Very nice concept. Maybe the pace could've been speeded-up a bit by speeding the drone itself and its execution
Anyway, it's a good take for an innovative idea :)
Nice mechanics involved (grappling)! It's pretty inovative. The graphic execution of the black hole is pretty nice to, and so is the physic. It just lack a bit of context (scoring me vs the other, for example) :)
Well done!
My 5 starts to the mood. With only one room and a very few interactions, you managed to create a universe in which I totally projected.
This is for me in the lignee of games like The Beginners Guide.
Excellent :)
Ahah! *Pull out* to quit. Really nice game, unfortunately i felt like the controls are not very polished, i died a lot, but it's ok since the guy's well loaded. :)
Pretty accurate sound design !
Really nice entry! The fun is there, and it's actually incredibly rewarding to tick the little dudes from the paper-battlefield!
Once you enter, you're immediately in and ready to kick some bad guys out.
Well played!
There is a strong message behind the actions you have to take. Thanks to the graphics the mood is powerful and the character design is full of sense. Very well done!
Pretty nice entry there. Concepts are good, but a bit of tweaks could help a lot!
Shooting takes too long, and maybe the use of the mouse click and hold could have been replaced by a "click only".
As it has been said, an in-game tutorial could have been nice too, for those who do not read texts before playing.
Portals could also be a bit more feedbacked, so the player definitely wants to go in.
Anyway, well done!
The game is indeed fun, even if a bit rough! You've got the essential here. Really enjoyed playing it!
Congrats :)
Pretty surprised to see a rythm game during LD, as it can be quite long to balance and synchronize...But here it's well executed!
One Room is a pretext here, but it's not an issue as we seem to go for a journey through the Music itself.
Well done!
Thanks a lot for the feedback! Glad that you liked it!
We haven't voted yet for entries, as we had to go back to work as soon as we published the game...That could explain the lack of comments for now :)
But for sure we'll do it (starting tomorrow at noon!).
Hello there! First of all, thank you guys for all your feedbacks. We're glad to see that you enjoyed it (really)!
@Khaoz Fang, please do not hesitate to watch the YouTube video, in which you'll find the solution for each symbol.
@Avon, I'm curious about the breaker you found in the game. If you ever have any screenshot of the situation, we'd be very happy to look at it.
@Drkr, we wanted to give some weight to the blocks, in order to make the pace of puzzles a bit slower, more on the peaceful reflexion side. Maybe we pushed it a bit too far...! Thanks for the feedback :)
Hello guys! Thanks a lot for the great feedbacks!
Balancing the difficulty was one of our biggest challenges during this LD (previous LD game was far too difficult), so we're glad most of you felt we placed the cursor at the right spot :)
@Pierrec, special thanks for the comment about the design, meaning big from l'Oujevipo-guy ;)
@Smokenmirrors, could you try to download it again ? Then extract the eqqxe from the rar archive and launch it directly from your computer.
I just tried to redownload it and didn't had the issue (nor other players it seems)
You may want to ignore the warnings of your antivirus. It's an exe file that is not verified as it's a custom executable (like others submissions I guess?)
Really great job! The idea is one of the most crazy and original I've seen so far :)
The game has a particular pace, and it seems you never have enough time to be able to do everything, always going back and forth the different mechanics.
Well done friend!
So you made this all by yourself? impressing! Yeah as i read in the comments, a Diablo1 like feeling was there.
I like that kind of games.
Nice puzzle game! I spent a lot of time trying to solve each of them.
Not even tried the hardest, as even the easy one is quite tough!
Well done, nice entry!
Zoom in is pretty cool! Also like how you have to immediately focus on a new part of the room when you goes from down to up :) Made a couple of tries before handling the gameplay, but it was enough fun to die and retry.
Nice work!
Simple but efficient mechanics,
I would have liked better lisibility as we had really hard time trying to shoot each others xD
Well Done anyway!!
Strong entry! Played it alone, so everything was a bit too quick and difficult to get through but I can easily see myself playing it with friends and have fun with them.
Well played also on the art part, the game is pretty nice ;)
A nice mood, that pushed me to go to the end, and finally find the cute little fox! At some point it was hard to figure out what to do! The upscale/downscale thing is a really good idea, and so is the radio thing!
Well done!
Hello there! Nice little game :)
The only thing I'd have like to be able to, is to use a keyboard button to stomp, as I already need my mouse to move the shoe.
Otherwise, well done! (+1 for the changeable music directly from the radio ^^)
This game is so cute!
I really loved the sound design of the tomatoe!
The difficulty s not really there unfortunately, same for the fight mecanics but with a game like this i did not really care. Nice nice, i shared it to some friends.
That idea is really cool!
I really enjoyed playing it.
My five stars to Innovation and Theme. One of the best take on the subject. I went to the 4th sub-level, and then I was even more surprised to see the autoplay mode. Cherry on the cake.
Chapeau, sir! A really great concept more than well executed.
Good level design with the color blocs, but collisions can make it quite annoying :(
Funny sound atm you start to go up to the door (made me thought about fez)!
Really nice and original take on the theme :)
Like some others, my first run didn't change anything, but it offers a good replay value (definitely wanted to see what happen in different scenarios), and the runs are short enough to let you go for a few on a single session.
Well played :)
Nice gameplay! May be it's common, i don't know, but i never tried this before. A bit difficult at the beginning but then, it's pretty cool.
I really like that pixel art.
The game is pretty fun and intuitive. I managed to score 500pts at first run :)
The "fat" mechanic is really well thought, also!
Well played!
Pretty clean job! That's also a good take on the theme, and an original adaptation of the tower defense.
Could have been even more challenging, but it's already pretty satisfying.
Strong entry, well played to the team!
Really liked the humor. The fights are quite hard, maybe due to a Strange timing on the shooting units. +1 for the ex-panda-ble :D !
The idea is very interesting i never tried a game like this.
Nice!
Nice Art!
This is a nice game for christmas on mobile!
Not being able to get through platforms from below adds difficulty but sometimes feels a bit buggy
Well done for a first submission! 3Cs are enjoyable. But on a Level Design part, as others said, first ghost could be easily removed. Keep jamming!
A really nice idea very well executed. Graphics are really cute (love how the dragons are when frozen). The melting/frozing animation is also impressive (detail, I know, but anyway!).
Could easily see this game with a dozen levels more :)
Really enjoyed it.
Good job sir!
The game is quite complex to get in. I finally managed to create a path and deliver some objects I ordered, and it was pretty satisfying!
Maybe a little more of a tutorial/exposure on your features would make the game even more enjoyable!
The game seems pretty solid on its management mechanics, tho!!
Well played :)
Wow, this is really something great!
Loved the art, loved the storytelling, would love to see a full game of it with short stories coming into a big story like in Gods will be watching!
Well played! :D
The game is very clean in its execution, and he global idea is really interesting. Your core mechanic could have benefit from a little tutorial to let the player know better what he has to do :)
Anyway, good job!
Tried to control/move thing around, but did not succeed :( I'm using a touchpad actually, so the issues I encounter may come from it?
Interesting concept, controlling the background instead of the character is a good idea!
It can be a bit frustrating when you have to wait for the bear to reach the next block to make him turn back..! :)
Otherwise, very strong entry, with nice visuals and a fun gameplay.
Well done!
Really good entry, with a simple yet really solid concept :) Won't say much more as everything has already been said by other jammers.
Smart move to port it on smartphone, it's exactly the Platform I was seeing myself playing your game on! Let us know if/when released :D
The idea is interesting, and having to guess which type of content could best fit the top trending hashtags may not be that far from a certain type of influencer's way of thinking oO
The game made me think about it twice, well done!
Just updated the links!
Thank you guys for your warm feedbacks!
@SamuraiSpark, yes we considered having that kind of feedback, but you would have lost the "always keep an eye on" thing ^^ For your first remark, could you tell me what happened exactly ? You watered the first plant of the tuto and then nothing happened?
Thanks again guys for all the love!
Thank you for your kind feedbacks!
The issue with the zip format is quite annoying, we'll try to reproduce locally and fix it asap.
For the plants being surrounded by other ones, that was kind of a conscious choice, to make you cut "good" plants in order to keep a clean garden and avoid fire starts ;) Sorry if you felt it was too much penalizing!
Thanks again for the warm feedbacks!
Yes, balancing was definitely one of the biggest challenges we faced while developing the game. I'd say it's been a team effort of playtests and tweaks to make it as it is!
48h compo in 3D with 4 levels, you man are crazy :) The concept is really cool, but as I was being forced to cambriole (\o/), I felt a bit slow at the end of the 4th level! Light system is nicely handled, and I loved the cop design. Last question, what's it the back of the ninja cube? Did not figure out while playing.
Good job dude.
The art style as much as game mechanics are simple yet efficient! The only fact that I put 152 cats into orbit must be a sign that the gameplay hooked me at some point :) Well done!
Very well executed. I struggled with the wall jump chaining, which was a bit technical, especially after the 3rd flag I think (or I missed something?). Good take on the theme, with the gold vs hp bar which was a addition :) Couldn't stop my greedy dark side to try to collect one and every coins of the room!
Nice job!
Nice addition to the shooter style! It's really clever to use the fact that players are always shooting, no matter the number of ennemies (be it 0). I didn't read the description first, and then realised my shooting-fury was leading me to the game over, by my own fault.
Really nice thought!
The mood is really awesome. Got this Dead space feeling all the way. As some others said, aiming was a bit difficult, but I totally get what led you to this choice. It's one of the strongest entries I saw yet, with a solid realisation and a surprising yet great gameplay. Theme relation is the only thing that I felt a bit under the rest.
Good job!!
We finally see the true face of superheroes : mass murderer :D It's a really clever take on the theme, and I'm absolutely impressed by the level of interactions that you managed to pull out in such a short period of time, and alone!
It feels great to play as well, and I'll definitely not watch superman the same way ever again.
Great job!
It's the game I enjoyed the most yet. The mood is just exceptionnal, and being about to become a father, the message stroke me directly in the heart. The realisation is absolutely clean and well made, and the theme is applied both in narration and gameplay (except for the last step, that was a bit too easy compared to the rest of the progression).
It's totally mastered, definitely one of the gems of this LD to me! Great job, guys.
Art style is a blast, and the intention behind the combat system is really interesting. Talking about combat, I think it would have benefit from a little twist to bring more variety into it. Otherwise, mood, art, awesome :)
9 days ! Nice looking art, and a cool sound ambiance (the "reproduction spell" sound made me laugh as it was so unexpected). The mechanism are well fitting the theme. I lacked of feedback about where I am regarding the fail conditions, it just happened at some point :( It could have helped and add a lot of pressure if I knew that I was about to loose.
Well done!
Oh ok, didn't get it at first look. I'll give the game another couple of tries knowing it then :)
Really impressive for a 3 days work, be it in terms of gameplay or artistic direction. And the traffic...! It's a solid entry, with a nice match to the theme, and its own personality. Loved it, congrats to the team!
I saw the video of your post-compo version, and decided to play the compo version first. But man is it already that fun! There's a great feeling to navigate through all this chaos, and when it goes well, you basicaly feel like a superstar driver :D
Great entry, well done!
Really interesting take on the theme! It's simple, yet challenging and perfectly fitting. The only thing that could have make it even "worse" (if we keep the theme's words) is to change the order of the reindeer from time to time, to force the player to go out of his comfort zone (I managed to go up to 29 just by saving my first reindeer alive :)). It's efficient and impressive, even more if we consider the time you had to make it! Great job!
Nice little characters art style, and nice music as well (great job on that). Regarding the gameplay, I felt like the ennemy spawns were randomized, which was a bit frustrating when I wanted to progress through the game. Counting the ennemies vs bullet shot in order to don't hurt civilians was a hard thing to do also :)
Anyway, you achieved a game alone in 48 hours, and well done for that!
As a lot of other players, I felt the start a bit slow. But once it's passed, the game is really enjoyable :) Graphics are really great, even though the ui of the different drinks could've been clearer. Once you got it, the concept of managing the number of clients by serving them good or bad drinks is clever and not that hard to master, allowing you to chill and manage the best you can.
Well done!
The realisation is absolutely great. I did not really get about the theme implementing, and control feeling could have been pushed a bit further, tho :) ! Good job
The idea is so silly and funny, and fits the theme :D Same here than Raphael, I'd have like to benefit from a Wild Card regarding the Producer, right now the game feels really unforgiving on the first tries!
Once you get used to it, it's still hard but feasible.
Great job!
Nice polished game! I tried first without reading, and it was pretty hard to tell what was positive or negative. I re-ran the game after reading more carefully, and had fun! :)
Maybe having a bit more feedback like the character becoming fat as he's eating too much could've been a nice addition?
Anyway, good job!
My 5 stars for the mood. Graphics and Audio are awesome and contribute to it. I really felt immerged in a very particular world, with a great story telling, while focusing on the clever puzzles. The theme feels a bit off tho, but it doesn't matter at this point :)
Very well done, it gave me chills!
Firenados strike back! It's a pretty original take on the theme, and shooting tornados can't be else than cool :)The placement of fire pits could have been more penalizing, but making a lot of them pop at the same time make it "worse" anyway, well-fiting the theme. Good job!
A really clever concept, well fitting the theme. Puzzles are well crafted, with just the right difficulty curve to me. The idea of slightly changing the music background when shifting from one "matter" to another was nice, but the music itself became a bit annoying after a few minutes playing.
Overall, one solid entry! Thanks for your game :)
My 5 stars for the Mood! This game manages to create such a deep, oppressing ambiance...! It's impressive. Add to it the effect on screen and the character inevitably fading...Well, everything on the art and sound design are awesome :)
As WetDesertRock said, some glowing items I couldn't interract with put me in some trouble, as I feel that I lost some "steps" trying to make something about them.
Anyway, really "bravo", because it's not an easy thing to set a true identity on a 72 hours game. Good job to the team!
Impressed by the result for 8 hours of work...! As it has already been said, the game feels fair even though getting harder and harder, which is not that easy design speaking, especialy in such a period of time.
Well done!
Really clever concept, simple but damn it works so well! Tried to get as drunk as possible, and felt so rewarded to be able to jump over that 3 last platforms even though I didn't know what I was doing at all :D
Well played, it's a great entry.
One of the most creative mechanics I've seen so far :) Associating movement and balance, which forces you to stare at both screens to manage to keep everything on track is super hard and super fun at the same time.
Well done!
Well played! I'm not a big fan of randomness in games, but I have to admit that red ennemies never bothered me in the way they acted. I'm super curious about your pathfinding algorithm for the level reduction, as I went for some similar interpretation of the theme (but with a different execution, ofc). It was really pleasing to play, the process time was not a big deal to me.
Great idea, very well executed :) I found in your game kind of the same approach that I had, meaning walls getting closer are a tactical element in some levels, while in other it's used to put pressure on the player.
Well done!
My 5 starts for the Mood! It feels really nostlagic and the rain only adds more to this calm and relaxing music while exploring the ship and the environment. Super inspiring, as I'm looking to prototype that kind of experience on my spare time. Thanks a lot for this game, it's super well made. +1 to the rain sound that goes down once you enter the ship. Awesome again!
Yeah unfortunately I know about that issue... The. Exe is not considered as official by Windows, that's why. You can launch it anyway. Sorry for the inconvenience!
Hey there, and thanks for the feedback!!
To answer you guys about the Q & D binding, it was a reaaaaaally poor choice made at the last minute from a french guy with a french AZERTY keyboard. Wanted the game to be playable with one hand, but was super tired at this time and just totally didn't take into account QWERTY keyboards...Shame on me :D
I'll make sure to make a proper QWERTY build tomorrow! Sorry for the inconvenience, and thanks again for all your warm messages!
@blight-radiance, nice little bug there :D Actually I guess there are a couple of these ones left in the game. Repositionning the entire level at each shrink caused me a lot of troubles, as it's one of the first time I actually code a game (always sticking to Game Design which is my day job, and Art/Level design in addition in classic jams). Thanks for reporting it, I'll see what I can do to avoid this case in a post-LD update! Thanks you for the music, first time as well :)
@nam-nguyen thanks for the warm feedback!
Thanks a lot @MZA! I used Fusion 2.5, awesome for quick prototyping and bigger games!
The game is indeed quite easy, as I lacked of time to implement the harder levels I had designed :( I guess that's the compo effect ;)!
Thanks a lot for your feedbacks @historymaker118! Indeed, there was a bunch of bugs regarding the shrink making the character stuck in some situations, as well as killing him in some unpredictible ways... All of what I tried to fix in the post compo version, as you said!
The air control & deceleration are some points I wish I spent more time on... Thanks again
Hey all, and thanks for the warm feedbacks!! About QD, it's because of my french AZERTY keyboard. I was super tired at the time, and totally forgot to rebind before shipping... :) Sorry about that!!
Thanks a lot for all your warm feedbacks!
@megalink so glad to hear all that... :)!
@poffle hopefully there's only one format of controller, so I won't mess up with the controls ;) Thanks a lot!
Thanks a lot for all the warm feedbacks!
@rytannic Thanks a lot for your feedbacks!
Yes indeed, a lot of issues have been fixed, except for the binding that I didn't find time to update yet... Thanks again for your input on this :)!
Gameplay is really efficient :) As it's already been said, it's not immediately clear what needs to be done, but from my experience it's still been pretty quick to get.
Graphics are great as well, and so is the theme interpretation :) well done!!
My 5 stars for the theme. That's super, super clever :) Having the space limit being the 3 pictures but also what you can see in your camera...(because of course, you end up watching only through it). Awesome concept, well done!
Awesome mood. Went to talk to the second thoughts, no additional orb to find right? It's been a super calm and relaxing experience for my lunch break. Thanks for that! :)
Waow. Just, waow. It's been intense, that's the least I can say. The game is super well done. The pace, the mood, the visual and the feeling of power are totally nailed. It's like Diablo with steroids. 3C are super fluid, which is so rare in a Jam. Overall very well done guys!!
Super interesting to see another type of execution with the same interpretation of the theme than the one I did :) Although sound is missing, all the rest is well done! I can only understand how hard it is to nail different levels while crafting a game in compo mode (was the first time I did it alone, and man I suffered). So to recap in a few words, well played sir!
Great entry! The tutorial is super efficient. The space felt massive once I finished it and accessed to the "main game", just before it started to collapse, creating a real "running out of space" feelin'. The only remark I would do is, I kept on messing with Left & Right clicks, so I often unselected my ship because of a miss click :(
Funny concept, well done for 5 hours, continue to make games ;) Shadows help to see blocks coming, which is clever.
Impressed by the quality of the game for a Compo event. The execution fits well with the theme, and once you got that cumulating power is more efficient your start playing with the level design and add some tactics in your moves. The pop of power sources seemed random tho, which can be a bit frustrating if it keeps on spawning in places locked by rocks that you can't break. Anyway, I had a lot of fun, and again impressed by art and audio quality :)
Great entry overall :) The good ol' Tron feeling is definitely there, and fits the theme! It's cool that you even took time to plug dialogues in, but as it's already been said, it would have been a nice addition to be able to just restart, as a fail can happen pretty soon in the game.
Awesome mood...I had a very similar feeling than while playing "Firewatch", probably because of the combination of art style and music. Quite short, but tensed experience (even tho I'm not sure the rocks do anything to the ship, I played as if I had not to even touch them). Great job here!
Original idea and nice execution :D The game is really fun to play. I mean, exploding things is always fun, but the game makes it fluid and even more enjoyable.
Well played!
Super interesting idea and take on the theme! As a french guy with AZERTY keyboard, it's been kind of hard to master the hand position x) Other than that, background music and notes were an awesome fit, it's pleasing to compose while playin. Well done!
Nice entry, super efficient :) you easily enter in the fun of the game, sorting things responding certainly to a compulsive human need of putting things in the right boxes :D. Art is also really well executed. Well done!
A Game of puns :D Actually laughed a couple of time while seeing what I was about to serve to my clients! Surprised they gave me tips for bringing cat soup to the table, but anyway... ;)
Sometimes the validation can feel a bit off regarding what the characters initially asked for, but other than that, funny little entry.
Mechanics are easy to get, yet challenging. I didn't get the theme interpretation, tho ^^' There is a real strategic feeling that I only got after a couple of runs, but that made me feel good when I finally figured out the key to each level. As a fellow of the Compo LD, I can only salute the effort! Well done sir.
Super funny game! Totally fits the theme, and the evil grandma made me truly laugh the first time I saw it :D Super original take, well done!
Good to start doing game jams at your age. Continue doing it, that's how you learn the most... :)
Innovative idea! :) As it's already been said, movement is a little rough. I often ended blocked against the monster. Maybe having something like a double jump with a bit of air control could've helped :) Anyway, cool concept.
That's one of an original idea :D good job for the art as well, it supports really well your tone and Gameplay o/
Maybe the pacing could've been worked a bit more, but other than that, good job!
Super fun and nailed art technique! The controls felt a bit clunky, tho. It seemed like there was a way to start by going left at the very beginning of the level, but I didn't manage to find a way to reach the top. About the last comment before mine, I really hope it was intented from your team, because dying of over-oxygen would totally fit in your crazy universe :D
Nice entry, well done for a first submission! It's a super hard kind of game, but it's assumed and not caused by unbalancing, so it feels quite fair for the most of the levels I managed to play.
Cool to see another take on the same interpretation that I did :)
Interesting to see a different take on the same theme interpretation that I did :) You really nailed the mood and art, well played!
PS:18 levels is already a thing ;)
Nice first entry and welcome in the LD crew! :) The arena feeling works well. While triggering a fail condition after the 4th reduction felt weird while reading, it pushes you to action, so that's kind of a clever move.
Good job!
Same here… :( Please tell us when your game is up and running!
My 5 starts for the Mood. The treatment and execution are absolutely perfect. Dynamic move on the camera adds on the immersion feeling, and the simple character conveys a lot of emotion. Very well done sir!
Litteraly running out of space :) as it's already been said, the game is super well made, with awesome intense action. The only thing missing is a bit of predictability on the tiles behavior, as the game is randomly generated, which prevent from learning and improving.
Other than that, congratulations, the game looks awesome!
Really fun idea there :) I agree with some of our fellows LDJammers, the controls are a bit off there, making it harder than expected, but it only adds on the tone of your game, giving it this special feeling of the "physic I love to hate". Failing is half the time not my fault, and that's what kept me in the loop. Strange but refreshing feeling :) Other than that, everything crumbling is a top notch interpretation of the theme. Good job.
Super interesting take on the theme, and alterning relaxing phases in which you can stare at the lovely shapes formed by your moves, and super stressful ones the more you cumulate orbits. Really awesome idea and execution, everything feels smooth!
One of the most polished game I played for this LD. Congrats to the entire team, the game is fun, but most and foremost really consistent in all aspects. Well done!
Hello, and thank you all for your warm feedbacks! We're super glad that you enjoyed the experience :)
@flywolfe there are actually 7 different endings. We really hope that the community will find them all! @shaddo I guess that time is always consuming faster than what we wish...;) @argon @alienplay @bramreth @ja-viera @ougrouk @palsina thanks for the kind words!
Thanks for your feedbacks!
@skyball life is not always super fancy! That's part of what we wanted to illustrate. There's no such things as loosing. It's just one end amongst others :) But I get your point!
Hey there. Thanks a lot for all the warm feedbacks!
@tapehead haha we wish we could have done even more...It's part of the Ludum Dare experience, I guess :)
@jvolonte haha, didn't even notice it could be interpreted like that
@fahim-faysal thank you so much. Music is not at all what I do for a living, so I'm happy if it reached its goal!
@Andreadbx and it was a pleasure to watch you playing it ;)
@lola merci à toi!
@gaming-night Really touching, thanks a lot! We'll see, but the most important part is all of you playing it and enjoying it
@stark Thanks! We've used Fusion 2.5 (Clickteam) to create the game
@nayaki-anandan please do so, but don't forget to rest from time to time...:D More seriously, thanks for the warm words, and glad you liked it!
Hey there, thanks a lot for the kind words :)
@deprecat we thought about that but had no actual time left to implement it! Jam rules, you know :)
@euler-moises thanks! We'll try to give it a shot asap
@hugimugi7 haha too much pressure! The funny thing is that I personally didn't knew about Minit while doing the game. Discovered it post release, looks awesome :)
@ianlux thank you so much! I agree for the music, but unfortunately piano is only a hobby to me, so it'd have taken too much time to compose a longer music sheet ^^` will try to go further next time!
@mika-la-grand Hey Mika, thanks for the feedbacks!
Indeed, the game turns a lot about world exploration and multiple playthrough, as we wanted the player to explore the game unguided. It's more on a philosophical point tho, that we never have enough time in a life to do everything we want :) We wanted the Gameplay to replicate that feeling. But thankfully, in a game, you can get a lot of different lifes!
Thanks again, we hope you enjoyed the experience anyway!
Thank you all for the kind words!!
@ursagames, I watched the video, and you actually only missed one ending in the game... Pretty impressive!
@omiya-games sorry for the late answer! Spoilers ahead!!! First of all, you found everything the game has to offer at the moment :) My explanations follow :
Actually, doing things with the family is a way to live your life! And also it diminishes strongly the cost of everything, as it's always quicker to do things when you're two rather than alone. To us you can then finish with two, or three family members. We also consider dying alone anywhere in the world as an ending, because you know, life isn't always that special :)
For the farmer NPC, he only tells that he would need help as a teasing for your taking care of all the animals (which you found already) For the weird guy, we had something planned for him, but had not enough time to go to th end with him. Sorry if it was a bit misleading!
@syrapt0r just watched it, thanks a lot for your feedbacks! About the ending you were looking for with flowers, maybe you should try to talk to the guys at the farm first ;)
As usual, totally out of the box story :D Concept it cool, and the art style super cute. Well done dude!
Interesting interpretation of the theme :) As it's already been said, the left/right click was a bit confusing, and it sometimes felt like the coins should be placed carefully if you want them to count as damages (dunno if it was intentional?) Another point that I had hard time to get is, is it finally possible to win the game & escape ? :) It felt like you can't run from the Devil.
Other than that, the soundtrack is pretty engaging, and graphics fit well to the mood you're creating there.
Good job on creating a game!
Really loved what you made there. Resonate a lot with our own entry, what we tried to accomplish (aka triggering reflexion about life and choices) you did it there really well, and in a different way. Super interesting to look at from my point of view!
Congrats, it's a great experience.
Original concept :) Had trouble to see the link with the theme, but passed that, mood and graphics are pretty neat!
I'm not sure to entirely get your initial thought for the project. It seems like having a couple of rooms would've helped to better understand the subject :)
Anyway congrats for coming to Ludum Dare and actually challenging skills that are out of your comfort area!
My 5 stars to the mood. Thinking that you made it alone in 48 hours is impressive. Took me a while to die the first time, and didn't red the comment at the time, so I was wondering when the theme would become obvious. Then, I felt in the hole on the bottom right of the map. Then it became obvious !
I wasn't expecting at all that rogue-lite twist, it's really smart.
Two points of improvements that I see : - It's hard to see where the dash/attack ends, so sometimes it's hard to figure out if you'll hit the enemy/fall into a hole - Despite the rogue-lite aspect, dying can happen. Then not being able to skip the texts (be it at the beginning or during the death part) becomes a bit painful :)
But as I said, really impressed by the quality of execution for a compo game!
Good job !
Nice twist to the melee genre! :D Pixel art is great, and overall game artistic direction brings that nostalgia beat of old games… Well done!
My 5 stars to the mood. AS it's been said, the game feels really polished, but more than that it's a pleasure to just wander through the world, seeing the landscapes changing the more you go... Loved the "exploration" mode, it's really awesome. Good job !
5 stars to the Humor. At first I thought "Ok, I can't stand this introduction cutscene anymore". And then I realised. Everything in the game seems made to make you angry, just like the character is, which is really Genius (especially the elevator, that made me laugh a lot while considering it from that point of view). Gameplay against the boos is a bit approximative, but throwing stuff away and flipping table is really enjoyable.
Well done!
Mood, sound and art are perfectly nailed. You made an awesome job...Really.
If I had to suggest a few things:
- We lack a bit of context at the very beginning of the game, making it hard on first hand to really be immersed into the world. - Considering the awesome quality of the game, I have to admit that I had high expectations on the end and so was a tiny bit disappointed by it (but hey, it's a Jam, and what you achieved is already mind-blowing) - On the control of the character, I had sometime trouble when it came to background collisions (a bit sticky). It could be a small immersion-breaker for some players
Overall a really great entry, with nothing to add nor change on anything related to art direction.
Great job!!!
I know it's already been said, but it's pretty crazy the amount of polish this game brings...Considering you were a team of two people, it's insane!
Loved the creature design and this powerful retro-feel.
Complete experience, super solid entry. Well done!
Hahaha that audio!
The game is really funny (especially thanks to the audio) & super easy to get. Pixel art style is really nice as well!
Turned off the sound after a couple of days as it was becoming a bit redundant, but other than that, really well done :)
Really efficient and good looking game! Moreover as it's been done alone. Pretty impressive. As it's been said, it's a bit easy, but that makes the game really pleasant to play, watching all those minions going to a bullet hell is really enjoyable ;p
Went up to level 5, good job!
Really interesting entry. The random feeling was sometimes a bit harsh as it'd feel like you don't have that much choices...But maybe it's intentional, considered we're talking about life here, and sometimes the illusion of choice doesn't bring you anywhere...
The mood of the game and the mechanics lying behind it are really great and innovative. Wasn't expecting to stumble upon an entry like that when looking at the theme.
Really well done!
I think you can be proud about what you achieved with those graphics. The game is truely beautiful. I had a hard time to understand the timing, and having to start all over again at each new ennemi encounter because you have to learn his specific pattern was a bit harsh. Other than that, it's reaaaally a great entry. Well done!
Really engaging! The pixel art is efficient, and the controls are cool and rewarding :) The sacrificing HP mechanic fits the theme, and can make emerge multiple strategies. The randomness didn't prevent me from getting better and better at the game, which can often be the downside of it.
Managed to go a bit further than the "Don't Move" room a couple of times (but don't remember the name of thoses levels!)
Well done, it's a solid entry!
Hey there! Interesting takes on the graphics, demons were really funny to look at!
I had trouble understanding the controls as it's wasn't pretty clear that demons were changing anything. But maybe I just missed it!
Looking forward your post-jam build to retest it in proper conditions :) Congrats for making a game!
Hey there! Move control is pretty smooth and pleasing, but hit boxes were quite unprecise, leading to often die because of not reaching the unit targeted. I also had a pretty hard time to figure out what was my life and where it's displayed. Other than that, pretty fun little game, congrats!
It's a really nice idea, well executed! Like some other players, I had a bit of trouble on the first round (up until my first object, the scythe) to figure out the gameplay and the way to deal with it. But once I got it, it became really quickly addictive :) Went up to the second object, and then I had a bug with ennemies spawning while I was talking with the reaper...So it kind of messed it up.
Other than that, it's a really solid entry. Well done, I had fun playing!
PS: Totally see this as a very efficient mobile game
My 5 stars for the mood of the game. It has a pretty unique feeling, that support very well the gameplay. Great entry, good job!
Woah, thanks a lot to all of you for the warm feedbacks! Super awesomely awesome if you had fun playing our game :)
@mrabnox not knowing where to go was a bit of an intent on our side, hope you found your way crushing minions everywhere ;)
@barracudadisaster yes, I think that with more time we could have worked ennemies behavior to make those things clearer
@nocity glad you experienced it that way :id:
Thanks for your comments guys, we're glad to know you had fun crushing those minions against walls and platforms :D
@barrier @namnam For explanations, we certainly lacked of time to implement proper tutorial situations, so we did our best to put first ennemies and doors in front of the player way to make sure core mechanics would speak by themselves.
@arzi yeah, sorry about that 🙏 we had not enough time to think about how to bind the throw mechanic to a non-directional input. Hope you still managed to explode them all!
Thanks a lot guys for the love!
@deepnight you are absolutely right! Cancel punches has been out of our mind, as the LD has been a total rush from start to beginning. But we'll definitely keep that in mind for any future implementations of those kind of features ;)
Thanks for the feedback @saucygames!
Indeed, we considered it strongly but had to cut it because it wasn't a fit into our 72h scope :)
The game is really neat. Great execution, and interesting concept :)
About the ledge grabbing mechanic, it's not really clear when you can or can't grab. On the combat side, flying ennemies can be super hard to defeat, so you end running around to avoid them.
Other than that, it was a really cool experience. Well done!
Really nice concept, lovely graphics! Pushes my Curiosity hard on knowing what's the final item we can unlock.
Gives me the need to come back later to see if the Community worked well :D Congrats for the cool concept, and neat execution!
Hey there! I got into the loop, but experienced the game in a really weird way :D I was always going back and forth between thinking I understood the rules of the game, then figuring out what I was thinking was wrong, then understanding a new rule, and then being wrong again...
It was really disturbing, but in a good way. Trying to figure out what to do with which actor, and understand their interactions and life cycles was entertaining.
I'd have like to manage to grow my population, which doesn't seem to be possible as they are dying as fast as they grow. Maybe now growing too much, but having a sense of success at some point could have been a nice addition to the management feeling.
Other than that, nothing special to say about the art, it's solid enough to understand the global loops and roles!
Congrats for making a game :)
Nice little game! As it's already been said, the art direction and popping things works well. On the control side, I was a bit frustrated and stopped after a couple of tries because of the character deceleration that wasn't fast enough to my taste for platform challenges.
Good entry, congrats for making a game :)
Really nice, out of the box idea :) The experience overall was complete and qualitative. I the rythm is good, pretty easy to get (but I'm playing music as a hobby so maybe I'm not the good client to stress that part).
Slick design, solid execution. Nice entry, well done!
Not that much to add from other comments.
Most important thing is that you should be proud of making something :) That's how progress comes in!
Nice little game!
Different take on the same theme-driven concept that we used, interesting to see! Controls are a bit too much reactive, making tiny platforms hard to handle. I'd have accepted more challenge on the ink management as well, to feel like I should count them and use them carefully, turning the game more into a puzzle-platformer than a pure platformer.
It was nice to play anyway, congrats for making a game! :)
Good idea to start simple as a first jam game! Well done on completing and shipping something!
It's hard to give any constructive feedback as we don't know what was planned initially, but keep on going :)
Art and ambiance are really cool and mastered. To be honest, music is doing a great job serving the melancholic mood of your game. Even if you sourced it, it was a great direction choice ;)
A small feedback on *SPOILER* the first rock you need to shoot against a wall. At first run, I was focused on the spot where the rock impacts, and didn't noticed it had opened the door as the rock collides a bit before the button to activate.
Solid entry, last one I played before going to bed, it was calm and relaxing enough for me to feel like I'll be able to find sleep peacefully :)
Well done!
Thanks a lot everyone for all your feedbacks and kind words!
@coolestdoggie could you precise what was creating that lack of convenience in your experience?
Hello @brotherbyto => have you seend the intro tutorials showing-up? When you start the game, follow the Arrow next to the Bird and reach the first Big Note. Seek for the 4 of them that are hidden in the world and bring them back all together to the place you started in ;)
@aurel300 thanks a lot for the complete feedback!
Regarding the turn radius, having it shorter when you accelerate would make the bird harder to control.
I totally agree with you regarding level design and level art elements, that's the part we had the less time remaining to iterate on, unfortunately... So that's why it is less detailed and varied than we expected.
@cheesepencil Get the first three birds, then activate the shield to go through dark zones! ;)
Really reminded me of the mobile game Heart@Hack (in a really good way). Writing is great, it's easy to enter into the story and fantasy behind it. AD is nice as well!
Nice entry overall, well done!
Well done :)
Gameplay was a bit unforgiving (sometimes it'd have been helpful to benefit from a bit more tolerancy), but rewarding. The overall idea and mechanisms really fit to the theme! Music is cool as well, but can be a bit repetitive when you struggle a lot on certain lvls ^^
Good job overall!
A lot of things have already been said. The game is working super smoothly, with a huge feeling of Plant vs Zombies in the mood. Animation and small camera shake on hits are really rewarding, and the loop is working well (I spent more than 15mins on the game without knowing!)
Congrats for your entry!
PS: how do you get that nuke anyway? Special cheat code? :D)
Loved the humour there. It's on point, and you can feel the criticism from the game loop to the art style. It all fits together in a nicely executed, quick experience. Congrats for your entry :)
Feels like a real-life bad company simulation (as hard as it can get :'))
Feedbacks on difficulty have already been mentionned, so I' ll just go for the overall. Idea is nice, and everything fits together! Well done on creating a game!
That's so sad and fun at the same time xD Graphics are really on point, and mood is powerful.
It was a bit too hard for my taste to direct the birds, and a bit hard as well to predict when the cars would cross the road. Maybe so preventing sign like the lights of the car would have helped!
Anyway great job guys!
Thanks everyone for the comments! @fabioecco we added a walkthrough on YT if you wanna take a look :)
Thank you so much everyone for the warm feedbacks! @chillertyp CORE is providing different templates to start with that are interesting and already networked. Perfect for prototyping and keeping the focus on where your added value stands!
Really nice mood and level art! I maybe had a bug because the portal to CORE WORLD was already available after taking the first portal :(
Congrats on taking the challenge of making a game on Core! We had a lot of fun on our side, we hope you had as well!
Oooooh right! I think if an instance isn't closed I could land in a finished game. What you could do is either lock the game to 1 player by modifying propeeties, or turn the portal activation code to client and not networked :)
Nice little concept! Definitely improved my skill when I understood that you can keep the bomb and decrease the range before throwing it :) As it's already been said, a bit more predictability on the physics and a small tolerancy on the momentum vs bomb trigger would increase comfort, but really enjoyable already.
Thanks a lot for the game!
Neat entry! The rendering and game feel are cool, really enjoyed playing it :) Only small bug that annoyed me was the sound bug while transitionning from your starting scene to the actual game, as I failed a lot and fast on the first tries ^^ Might be nice to hotfix ;)
Thanks a lot for the game, I had fun!
Kept me engaged and super focused! The game is well balanced, with a great progression curve that kept me hooked up until lvl 18 (then I died...badly :D). At first I was spamming random spells, and then the more I moved forward the more I understood the logic and tactical choices needed to achieve the spells. Due to the randomness, I have to admit I ended up doing the same key combination, and then choosing how to cast the spell based on the situation rather than choosing the spell itself. Would've been interesting to test with a fix setup, or with a slow motion when the wheel of spells is opened.
Really enjoyed it anyway, thanks a lot!
Fun little game :) I was a bit confused at first on two mini games (the horse one I had three tries to understand it was about typing on the keyboard ^^' and the houses wasn't clear that you need to click on them at first. Maybe a bit of UI or a declarative "DO THIS!" could've help at least on the first three levels? Else, really neat and well executed, in addition of being original!
Congrats ;)
The attention to detail on gravity effects, curved trajectories and the effect on black holes really got me. The game tutorial step by step is well built as well, and the music is chill enough to keep you engaged without being disturbed. Solid entry, well done!
Impressive result using Core! Definitely interesting to play, it makes me see how far we can go, as we only scratched the surface and stuck to the more "meta" layer of the tool rather than diving in a specific game. Really cool to see and play, congrats!
It's a fun little game :) I ended up spamming my jump button while holding the left/right keys, and passed through it that way! Very original use of that many platforms, especially the stream, never seen before. Also, tapes were well positionned, easy enough for me to get them all while feeling great finding them.
Congrats!
Having both balancing and switching rails proved particularily hard to maintain in the good way throughout the game....especially on an AZERTY keyboard :') Thanks for the fun little game, and congrats on participating to Ludum Dare!
Great pixel art, with a style I haven't seen much recently! Sometimes a bit hard not to fail probably because of some randomness in the platform generation. On a side note, I had to relaunch the page the first time I failed because the interface for retry wouldn't display.
Congrats on making a game!
5 stars to the mood. As it's been said you're really soon hooked into it. This is really smart and well executed. Couldn't finish in time but I'll definitely come back to it later on. Well done and thanks for the fun! :)
Really nice, have you been into jams before? Noted it's your second LD, if it is also your second jam overall it's pretty impressive :) I have some bugs with random damages while being close to "holes" without actually going in them, which made me loose a couple of times. Maybe a nice bug to get rid of to polish the experience ;)
Well done!
Engaging little game :) Sometimes the timing is a bit tight considering the elements have to be drag and dropped. Could think of an improvement with hotkeys dropping the different items based on mouse position!
Congrats on shipping a game !!
