Amazing!
The soundtrack is great, one of the best I've seen in this jam so far. Great art style too.
Wow, this is a REALLY good game, congratulations on the entry! Love the mood and the style
Wow..... The atmosphere really is amazing. I also love the sense of urgency the draining health bar presents for you to scramble to regain your memories. Amazing. Having to restart after dying felt a bit counterproductive and a bit triggering, so perhaps retaining some of the progress would help. Still, well done on all fronts.
Absolutely awesome!
Stunning, that soundtrack is beautiful together with this game! hope you add more levels haha would love to keep going
Great game, the atmosphere is amazing !
I really enjoyed the mood and tone of this game. It's very calm, yet has moments where you can get anxious when it comes to your health being equaivalent to time. The art and sound give the game a great aesthetic. I did find the walking sounds to be a bit jarring though, but it wasn't enough to ruin my enjoyment of the game.
Just a good game. And a job well done. Only the text quickly goes through, you do not have time to read the story. Good :)
Fun game. Looks great. Interaction with lever didn't work for me (Chrome/Mac). The music was great.
Very good job on the atmosphere. The visuals and audio come together nicely. Honestly, the pillars and items on them confused me. And since the game is timed, it doesn't really give the player a lot of time to figure it out. I'm not keen on the timer really, but maybe as someone else mentioned, some retention of progress could make it more balanced. It could also give players the leeway to slowdown and enjoy the writing and nice mood the game has going on.
The feel of this game is just great. It's calm, yet very tense at the same time. The theme of losing memories (and yourself, as suggested by the bar) also fits very, very well. The snippets of Eleph's role are a great touch too. Coupled with a lot of white and other light colors it all adds up to a very nice experience. Some parts could use some work, because slow puzzles don't mix too well with timers of impending doom.
The artwork is so clean and beautiful, and the sound is tight, feels very good to play. The small particles too, it all feels very polished.
the music is super relaxing, and I liked the idea and how it ties to the theme. I'm still not sure what the water is for, as I finished the game without using it at all.
The ghosts are really cute!
It's only a shame it's too short, I'd play more.
Great execution, well done.
I really like the atmosphere of the game. The pixel art though simples is really well done. The mechanics are very interesting, I loved this idea of using the trumpt of the elephate to solve puzzels. The Game also respondes very well to the jam Theme. Overall really great job.
I loved this! Love the music, love the aesthetics. I find it a bit hard, but it didn't influence my rating. I think it was a bit short, I want more!
I got tuck figuring out where things like the key are. I kept trying to shoot the projectiles but that didn't seem to help.
@shadow30 @gibss @philarmon @syem @kekkodude @gnomik @sprotex @pedro-rosa @sbrianz @adecon @corny Thanks for compliments and feedbacks guys!! We are really glad that you all liked the game! :)
@cyberstarlight Thank you for the kind words and feedback! The water stuns enemies but it's not easy to hit hehe
@pinosaur Yes, the game is quite difficult because of that... We tried to sell the sensation of losing all your memory again and again, but maybe it is too harsh. But thank you for the feedback and compliments!
@thecritterscove Yes, indeed. The pillars can confuse the player and we didn't have too much time to think how to introduce then, so they became something harder than it could be. Thank you for the feedback!
@emmyoop thanks for the feedback! We wiil try to fix it!
@taophoenix You should shoot the projectiles to the buttons. If it's not working then it's a bug and we will try to fix it! Thank you for the feedback!
This was really (ele)fantastic. The level design was great, and I love how one room sort of locks you out until you've explored the rest of the world. The art was totally on-point and helped carry the mood quite well. On top of all that, the writing was really well done and served to tell the story without taking me out of it. I was curious to hear more. It took me a little bit to figure out how to use the pedestal effects, but once I did it was smooth sailing.
My only criticism is that the ending came somewhat abruptly. I would like to have seen a couple more rooms, perhaps.
Overall, this was a really great entry. Kudos to everyone involved.
Very soothing. I loved the color palette.
Interesting and beautiful experience! I had a little trouble in the far left room. I feel that the rooms could have been used to create a more progressive difficulty... Congratulations to the team.
Gorgeous aesthetic, brilliant palette
simply beautiful, this is amazing. An awesome take on the theme, very touching and moody. You had a great idea for a very simple theme. The execution is superb, I really loved the music. Great great job! Congrats!
Very fun to play !!
The art style here is great and fits nicely with the music. The sound effects were perhaps a little too intense though, in my opinion. The puzzles were pretty simple but still interesting. However I found that the limited time and fast enemies were very punishing, especially for what seemed like a more relaxed "artistic" type of game. Personally, I'd suggest that the enemies just send you back to the beginning of the room if you wish to keep it difficult (so you don't lose all your progress and time) or alternatively just ease up on the enemy speed and amount of "memory" (?) they consume when you get hit so it's harder to reset. Not a bad experience overall though.
I got invested in Eleph. Great game! The game was difficult for me at first but I finished.
It looks so amazing, the graphics, the SFX... I could see a longer version of this on Steam.
Wow, right off the bat the first thing that has drawn me in was the level design. Very good use of toned down colours that fits the theme extremely well. I am not very good with puzzle games, and the time limit definitely put me under pressure to quickly search every room and corner for memories! I'm not 100 percent sure if your choice for an elephant character is supposed to be a play on the saying "An elephant never forgets", but if it was, you definitely made the perfect choice for the character design. Overall, an awesome game, very fun to play.
As others have said before, the art is phenomenal. It's so clean and polished, it feels like it could be in a full version. I like that there are tight corridors, keeping everything confined, and the music adds well to the serenity of the game's mood. I think that the timer is an interesting choice, and I yet have to form an opinion of it, but I love the simplicity of the game's mechanics. It's really good!
Absolutely amazing game! Really nice art style & music! The timer was annoying, but otherwise the game is incredible for a game made in Ludum Dare
Great art style and sound, very challenging and lots of fun. I was able to glitch through the walls at the room transitions, but wasn't able to replicate this more than 2x. But very solid entry. Great Job!
Beautiful game! This has to be the nicest looking game I've seen in the jam so far! I really liked the use of the theme. I Would love to play more! I did find it a bit confusing when you shoot the ball up though, due to the character looking down even when it's pointing upwards. Perhaps if the character continued looking up when it was pointing upwards. Other than that the game was great and definitely a good submission.
This is wonderful, soothing, your color choices and art style go together so well, and each little tidbit that told me more about Elph wasn't just mechanical, it made me appreciate him more! You guys did a great job. (And the animations were very satisfying as well)
The art in this is really great and gives a pretty good atmosphere!
I don't think anyone above mentioned it, but I noticed you could actually clip through a lot of the walls. One example is you can clip through the walls in the room with the switch and the gate and clip into the key room.
ok now this was one of my favorites so far... right from the start the music was special
the walking sound effects were in sync and the color choices help set up the mood, the character is charismatic and the visual effects add an interesting layer to the narrative ...
i confess though that i had some trouble going pass this part
Screenshot Capture - 2019-10-09 - 00-25-12.png
gameplaywise it was a bit hmmm frustrating perhaps, that feeling you have when you constantly die for missing a platform ... not necessarily bad though, just wanted to see the end of this story though
This was a fun experience! The style is very pleasant and cohesive all around, I enjoyed it a lot. Just a heads up on my first attempt I was able to glitch myself out of bounds on this screen:

Once I restarted I had a good time solving the puzzles. Very nice work! I think if the timer paused so I had time to actually read the popups that would be nice. As is you kinda have to ignore them because your time is running out so you're too busy trying to get through the puzzles in time to really take in the story. Minor nitpick but figured I'd mention it
What a lovely game. Sets the mood very nicely. I think that you could remove that time limit. It made me loose text few times, because I was in a hurry - don't know if that's right for this game. That's the only minor issue I'd say.
Story, music and art hooked me in right away!
I absolutely adore the art style! The puzzles were mostly fun too, but I don't really like a time limit in a puzzle game, tends to make it more frustrating than fun.
Really beautiful game, the aesthetics and ambience music are outstanding! Great job!
;-; <3
There are some collision bugs but the graphics are just phenomenal. Great music choice too!
Looks cure but gameplay is a little bit slow. Anyway good entry, congrats :)
I love the graphics, the music, the adventure game style, the intepretation of the thema, and the fact that he's a cute little elephant. Great job !
This game sooooo cute! Visuals looks amazing!
Whoa, this is wildly good. The timer feels a little bit too tight, but I love the simultaneously tense and relaxing environment you manage to cultivate in the game. There's a bit of what feels like jank with respawning in rooms, since it seems like it doesn't remember what door you entered from, though maybe that's intentional.
I thought this game was a bit more cute and clumpsy, but it was basically Dark Souls, but with elephants ;) Beautiful graphics, I really adore them. The controls are also smooth and everything feels polished. It is a bit hard, which is only a problem for noobs like me, and the music is perhaps a bit too depressing. Other than that I think this is an amazing entry!
I loved to see another story driven game. I think it is great in every aspect and good implementation of idea
Such a cute and moody game. I really liked the aestetics and the calm soundtrack. The Memorys are lovely too and give a nice storyelement, without beeing too obvious. I had problems with aiming the water but the rest was very well executed.
Very nice atmosphere, sound and art! I wanted to keep playing after the end and find out more about the little elephants past! Great work!
Wow this is an awesome game, thanks for doing it. Really enjoyed it.
What a lovely puzzle game. Really nice artwork and music and combined with the story was really good!
Short and sweet! I loved the music and art. Puzzle wise, I found it easier to just ignore all the water fountains and rush straight for the pickups. Spraying water was kinda slow, and not very accurate and worsened my time. Otherwise, I loved the rest of the elements and would love to see longer and more levels! Some of the elements were great but underused e.g. chaser enemy.
Excellent art and fits the theme really well! Very cool!
Beautiful and melancholic entry, your choice of music greatly contributes to the atmosphere. I loved the plot and setting as well, it is a great -even if potentially sad- take on the theme.
As for mechanics, while the dungeon exploration and puzzles are well thought, there were some issues with the keyboard controls and the enemy collisions that frustrated me a bit. Switching to a controller improved the feel dramatically.
Lovely work, congratulations!
Beautiful little game! Graphics and audio were all fantastic, and the puzzles were simple yet effective. The biggest issue I had was on my second or third playthrough, I had opened the room where the key would manifest, wandered into that room (ultimately for no reason), only to have to make it all the way to the far left room to avoid running out of time (which I didn't). A bit of tweaking to the placement of the rooms I think would have fixed that, or more linear progress so that I wouldn't backtrack too early.
That's really minor though, the game was really cool, and I would love to see an extended version where Eleph is fleshed out!
Well done! The mood is perfect. I like the washed out look combined with the smoothing sound; it just works so well together. The simple enemies are nice. The timer is a bit harsh, but ok. Would have loved to play more of it.
It's unbelievable how smooth, polished and self-contained this game feels. It actually rivals a lot of published indie games quality-wise. I'm usually not very good with timers and limiters, but I think there they spiced the things up just the right bit.
Also, our main hero is ridiculously adorable.
Art and ambiance are really cool and mastered. To be honest, music is doing a great job serving the melancholic mood of your game. Even if you sourced it, it was a great direction choice ;)
A small feedback on *SPOILER* the first rock you need to shoot against a wall. At first run, I was focused on the spot where the rock impacts, and didn't noticed it had opened the door as the rock collides a bit before the button to activate.
Solid entry, last one I played before going to bed, it was calm and relaxing enough for me to feel like I'll be able to find sleep peacefully :)
Well done!
This game is beautiful! The art style is so cool and the story and vibe really sucked me in. It took me a bit to figure out the puzzles, but I was able to get the key and finish the game. The music and sounds chosen were also fantastic. It feels really polished, great work! :elephant:
Such a mood-full game! The art and the atmosphere really did a great job. Relaxing and soothing game. A well-polished entry!
Great mood, palette and artstyle, good choice of music. Sadly I couldn't finish the game, I kept dying at the leftmost puzzle and it started getting frustrating having to do the game over and over again. It's a bit hard to read the story bits when you're basically stressed you're going to die again if you don't hurry. It took some time before I realized I could throw the ball, since I had seen pedestals I thought it was an object I had to put somewhere, maybe a prompt with the throw input would have helped?
Absolutely wonderful. I loved this game. This so nice and touching. Love ! ps : when walking along the right wall in the ghosts room I went through the wall and arrived in the closed next room.
Totally agree with everyone else -- it's musically and visually stunning! I'm really bad at time-sensitive games, so I died a lot trying to get to the end -- unfortunately a bit too hard for me, but beautiful and intriguing enough to try for a good while! Overall, excellent job!
The only suggestion I have for future games (or this one if you go further with it!) is to make it a little more clear when an object is interactive. For example, I had no idea hitting the little circle with the ball did anything -- a pulsing glow and/or slight animation may have helped me realize that sooner, or in keeping with your existing UI, a textual hint saying something along the lines of "if only I could hit that switch somehow". But I really had to rack my brains to find even that much feedback -- the overall quality is so polished and professional! Fantastic work :)
Graphically very nice and polished, I really like the art style. The level design could be a bit more intuitive, guiding the player a bit more at least at the beginning, I felt like there is too much choice and you don't really know what you're doing. But overall is an excellent submission, bravo to all of you guys!
superb  it's very soft and appealing. I really liked the obstacles/enemy patterns, but some of them felt a bit unfair/too hard, clashing with the overall peacefulness of the game (which can be both a good and a bad point I guess). I'm not sure I understood what all the items (rock, water...) did. (FYI I got stuck a few times behind the pedestal here, and couldn't get out (collider issue?)): aze.PNG
Lovely music, good art, I just found the game to be a little short. Some nice mechanics with the water and rocks, but didn't feel like they were explored much. Apart from that, good work!
Very beautiful and wonderfully fitting and melancholy music. The game is short, but I like that, it's also fairly easy to beat once you know where everything is, and most monsters really pose no threat.
I think the sound of steps should have been softer, it's a bit grating as it is and goes over music too much. Also the water projectile doesn't feel good. It's either too slow (for a projectile) or too projectile like (for a spray)
Great job with creating a full story in a couple of days! It's one of the few LD45 games that kept me engaged until the very end, very well done!
Great atmosphere, great art. Short, but very nice story in this little mood game. Well done!
Wonderful one! The mecanics are great as the universe and the audio. Bravo:)!
Beautiful game ! I love the mechanics, the sound and music ! Eleph is cute ! Amazing work ! Congrats !
I love the art in this game! It's really well done  Also, definitely one of the moodier games I've played this jam. Well done!
One point of feedback: the first time I lost I tried interacting with the baseball but nothing was happening. I already had water in my inventory and so pressing space did nothing (and I didn't know you could press space when not trying to interact to use the water yet). I'd recommend swapping out the inventory instead of ignoring the interact if there's already an item in it.
Amazing game! Great puzzles, beautiful graphics, also nice choice of music! I don't really get the idea of the memory loss though, as they are all not connected (idk though, maybe I'm missing something lol). Great job!
Loved playing the game. Puzzles were nicely set. The calm music added greatly to the art to set the calm mood even though you are always on edge. Amazing!
Wow. This is probably the best game I've played so far.
And I'm not kidding. The ambiance felt finely tuned, the difficulty is challenging but not too hard (though I abused the stone throwing mechanic instead of using water in the last room on the left). The story was so well delivered, humble and eerie but nice. I LOVED the artwork, both the chara and environment design was so beautiful for me. (Dude that elephant is cute af ... I love it)
Could CLEARLY be expanded into a true game. I instantly picture the backstory of this elephant, he's like the Ugly Duckling of his kin (because elephants do normally have good memory, right?) and we could iterate so much on that. I love it.
You have kind of a Zelda's gameplay meets Celeste's narrative vibe (well, a tiny tiny bit of Celeste's narrative).
I'd love to work with you on future project if you'd like? I'm a composer and sound designer (I guess?). I've worked on two Ludum Dare. Check out the soundtrack I did this ludum: https://soundcloud.com/pl4typus-dude/sets/planet-7-no-data-soundtrack (don't hesitate to check out the game through my profile page)
Either way, huge good luck on your future project @vcesauron @fredbernardo @leandroc , you guys are talented :)
Mood, visuals, and music were all top notch! I enjoyed it, although I found it pretty difficult and unforgiving. If you made a mistake and hit any monster, it seemed like you had to start all over again because you wouldn't have a chance to catch up. I like the little memories you snuck in there about his life though - good work!
It's so hard for such a cute game! I love your visuals. They are super.
Short but so sweet! Everything pairs together incredibly well here - the art, the sound, the writing.... All of it is polished to a shine! How could such a cute elephant make me so sad :(
Cute!
There are cute characters. Music is classical. The game is luxurious because of the music. Playing is not easy. The game is interesting.
nice
Great game! :D Nice graphics, nice soundtrack. Really like the story of memories. It was a bit hard for me though :) (Also there's a minor collision bug where you go through a wall if you move diagonally into a corner.) All in all such a nice experience, thank you for making it! :)
Very nice elephant ma dude!
The graphics and music combine to give the game a really nice atmosphere, and the sfx complement it nicely with their subdued, minor tone. The map design is also nice, but, some of the gameplay implementation doesn't feel very well thought: * The way the ghosts interact with the water is just unpleasant to play with, especially coupled with the way collision works for them. In a game that was otherwise easy I had to do that spit-water-at-ghosts screen more than a dozen times. * The timer just... isn't very fun. I know it's the only source of a fail state for the player, so I'm not sure removing it is the right option, but, maybe extending it? Or make it so running into an enemy doesn't take away any additional time beyond the time you already lose by having to redo the room? Some sort of tweak, anwyay.
Other than that I did really enjoy the game, good work!
Great job, guys! I was a bit worried about the balance of the game at first, but the entire level layout was short enough that it provided a nice little challenge. I would echo the water feeling awkward -- I think people would (maybe??) feel less frustrated by the time limit if that were made to be a more useful thing, for instance putting the ghosts down for good.
I would agree with the sentiment that the gameplay and mood feel slightly at odds at times. I didn't bother me that much, but I did wonder about it. I sort of liked the idea that you had to sort of piece together the dungeon by memory, which I think echoed the theme you presented, but the pacing of the gameplay vs the pacing of the storytelling felt conflicted.
Didn't prevent me from enjoying this though! Great job for a jam entry :)
I find this a little hard, but great style !
Nice gameplay too, no need for a tutorial, etc...
Truly amazing what you were able to pull off during such a short time frame! Feels so polished and well executed! One of the best entries I have came across, Thanks a lot for this amazing experience!
Beautiful artstyle, music and atmosphere! :) I also really like the setting and story of your entry. Really unfortunate though that the game was so difficult and you need to start over again everytime you lose. It prevented me from fully enjoying the experience :/ Also it's a bit weird that the character always faced towards you while he stands still (for example when you want to shoot the ball upwards to hit the button).
I loved the artstyle of this game. It was the first thing that called my attention. Besides the graphics, the gameplay is really enjoyable and the story fits the theme very well. Good job!
Nice little game. Quite challenging to complete.
The timer felt a bit out of place in my opinion. The game reminds me more of an explore/puzzle type of game.
I did really enjoy the game.
Absolutely lovely game. Graphics and audio are wonderful. I'd really like to play without the timer, it just feels like a game where you wander and discover puzzles etc at your own pace.
Visual style is cool, combined with piano song it reminds me of "One Shot" game. I like idle animation of little eleph.
Things to enhance/tweak: I'm not a native speaker and maybe it' just mine problem but sometimes I'm too focused on game play/art/level that I have no time to read whole text, it vanishes too quickly for me. Maybe adding more delay would be good; that's need to be play tested of course.
Anyway I like the game difficulty. It is not hard not boring, just my level. Thanks for that game artifact and good luck!

The timer mechanic and the relaxed atmosphere seem to work against each other here. Seems like the kind of game where you can try over and over again until you succeed, but it's actually quite punishing. The water squirting mechanic was a bit strange, I wish it made the ghosts also inactive, so you can walk through them, because sometimes I would freeze them right in my way, and then I'd have to go back, get more water, wait for the stun to wear off and try again, which is a lot when you have a timer ticking down. I really did like the atmosphere and art style. Overall it's an interesting game that just feels a bit conflicted on what it's trying to be.
good stuff!
I loved the art, its beautiful, everything apart the water mechanic I liked in the game. I think when you hit monsters with water they should not damage you, thats just stupid I died couple of times like this
