Interesting, but I had no idea what was going on! The art and sound is top notch and it feels really polished for a 48h game!

Interesting, but I had no idea what was going on! The art and sound is top notch and it feels really polished for a 48h game!
Really weird, but cute!
I loved this! It is a innovative idea and feels very polished! My favourite game so far...
I would have loved a little pause before the level begins to plan my approach and sometimes the keys does not feel very responsive, but I will definitely play this again!
Quite a nice match-3 game, but did not really fit the theme. The sound made my cat jump!
I enjoyed this a lot! Graphics are nice and simplistic, music is cool, and gameplay is fun!
Quite cool! I enjoyed it!
This was great! Cute graphics, responsive controls. Quite difficult, I am terrible at platformers :(
Nice gameplay, good graphics and excellent controls! Very bizarre, but fun!
Interesting idea and well executed!
I'll see if I can sort out some of these crashes. I definitely did something wrong - not experiencing any here...
Thanks KayZ! I found that as well, and uploaded a fixed version.
It is quite hard!
The 10 seconds makes it really difficult to finish a drawing, but it becomes much easier once you start to really learn the runes. I actually draw the base shape as quickly as possible and then remove the extra pixels by right-clicking, missing pixels are penalized more than extra pixels!
Very nice game! The platforming feels nice and responsive, and I like the mood.
Sometimes restart does not work...
I really liked this! It fit the theme very well, was fun to figure out and the art was fantastic!
Nice controls, like how you mapped the items to the mouse clicks. Impressive and nicely polished!
Excellent gameplay, graphics and sound! Will play this again!
Excellent graphics, nice gameplay!
Nice entry! A lot of fun, the names are a nice touch!
I really liked this! The pace is very quick which makes it quite difficult, but is looks great and plays well. Sound effects would bring in a lot of character!
Fantastic entry, great controls and nice puzzles. The art really tell the story! Very impressed!
This worked really well, very intuitive, great atmosphere and quite tense!
Wow, great entry! I really liked the concept, would have loved more levels as this feels more like a tutorial setup for a couple of very difficult puzzles! I would play a full version of this!
Fun game! Well done! I am not very good at the game, and the controls seem to take a bit of time to get used to, but it was fun!
Thanks for the feedback! We were planning to make contracts so that you have to have a contact to distribute the goods in that continent. Which would make it more strategic, but we just didn't manage our time well enough!
Look out for a post compo version with better balance, rule tweaks, supply routes, more unique contacts and random events!
As to several comments relating to theme, it fits in that the game is about managing a criminal enterprise from a single computer screen! Maybe a bit vague or meta, but that was the intention! :-)
Excellent graphics, great gameplay! Feels very smooth and polished, just a shame I am terrible at shoot'em ups!
Not working for me, virus warnings and can't open file at all :(
Link still down!
That was pretty cool, does remind me a bit of desktop dungeons! Could do with some variations of enemies and a couple of things to spice it up!
By the way: Look at Hoplite if you are into simlar turn based hex games https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.magmafortress.hoplite&hl=en
Great game. Great atmosphere. Was happy to be able to finish it in the end.
Actually quiet fun. Got the hang of it after a few tries. Love the graphics and the idea. Could use sound. After I stopped playing my whole desktop was spinning :)
Hahaha, the art made me smile! A bit too easy, but a nice quick diversion.
That was quite clever and innovative, but pretty hard! Fun graphics! I enjoyed it!
Nice solid entry, but now my finger is sore from all the clicking!
Nice short adventure game! Some quirks and bugs, but still enjoyed solving the puzzles! Well done.
Really struggled with the controls, the jumping feels very slow and inaccurate.
Nice idea, well executed. The screen was a bit small for my eyes! I got one unsolvable level, but was fun otherwise!
It took me about 5 tries to figure out what to do. The game starts so quick that I haven't even seen the player and I already died. Adding a pause before the game starts might help making the start easier.
I really liked this! It fits the theme very well, looks great (that is better than programmer art!) and plays well! Excellent entry.
Quite nice, a bit lonely as a solo game, and the AI got the shooty powerup and destroyed me!
Im not sure if it completely fits to the theme but love the game. Really cool and original art and gameplay.
Quiet difficult actually. Died a few times not really knowing what killed me or why it happened so quickly. The spikes are kinda hard to see at times. Liked the music and lighting.
Was fun to play. Overall look is great but struggled with the aiming until I realized I shouldnt play it in fullscreen.
I quite enjoyed this! As many people commented, the controls are a bit iffy, but the game is fun and pretty solid.
Amazing entry! The art is super polished, just a shame I could not enjoy it, as I was too busy concentrating on hitting the notes!
Pretty funny!
Very pretty pixel art and excellent mood, but the two button controls felt a bit forced and tedious. I still finished the game and enjoyed it!
Your game looks incredible, it fits the theme really well and the vines look great. Buy the camera controls are a bit too sensitive and it actually ties my stomach into a knot!
Nice mood and presentation. Very slick. UI text is a bit small on higher resolutions. Some visual feedback on scoring or placing blocks will go a long way to helping understand the game better!
Really fun too play and well rounded game although the flower moves a little too slow for the amount of variation. Loved the weapons.
I really enjoyed this! Well polished, good looking, and very well executed.
Could not finish it as it freezes every now and then. Still, looks and feels really nice and it is a good match for the theme. I like that I can control how fast I want to go to get a higher score.
Funny game! Could really have done with a bit more polish, but still fun to play!
Very strange indeed, but well pulled off! This was definitely something different!
Excellent art and really fluid responsive controls! The music is nice and the quick level was a lot of fun. Wish it was a bit longer!
Incredibly impressive art and end result! I really liked it, glad I played the version with the recipe book, otherwise it might have been a bit frustrating. I stuggled a bit with the perspective and some of the jumps, but a great game!
Amazing art and sound! The game is fun and fits the them pretty well. Great job!
Sounds intriguing, but I don't really get how it works.
Absolutely brilliant. Addictive and challenging. Loved the atmosphere.
Nice clever little puzzle game. Good use of the two button mechanics!
Good solid entry! Excellent use of the theme. I quite enjoyed it, but crushed so many of my own :)
Good job! Very short and sweet. Nice vine growing!
Nice entry, clever use of the theme, but very difficult to control!
Nice lighting and clever little puzzle game!
A lot of fun, but could not really enjoy the art, because I had to focus on hitting the notes!
As Oneiric Worlds mentioned, the beginning is a little fast. Either put Jack higher or pause the game at the start until the player clicks or something. Nice graphics and mood. I wasn't very good at the game though XD.
I like the idea. But got stuck because I didn't have enough Aether to cast spells or I only got spells that give me Aether. Would be nice to be able to discard spells or have a larger selection.
That was fun, but the characters are a bit to small to really distinguish between them. My mouse fingers are not what it used to be, so I am a bit slow ;)
It does fit the theme well!
Amazing graphics and presentation! A very good implementation of the theme.
Nice! I loved the terrible puns :) Nice art and sound, and game is fun!
Nice and challenging game.
Haha, gross...
While the gameplay was a bit simplistic and easy, it was great listening to the story!
Great innovative game.
A very nice, very short game! I enjoyed it, was fun seeing all the different outcomes, and I think it was a very good match for the theme!
Very good entry! The beautiful visuals and audio create a very calming mood, the gameplay works well, and it fits the theme!
Very impressive entry! Great use of the theme, excellent graphics, and very good way to control the game.
I loved the way the city changed as you passed laws!
Always like me some roguelike, especially with scary growing ooze.
Pretty fun. Would be interesting to know how much resources I wasted or have some kind of score or timer.
Excellent pixel art, fits the theme well!
Great atmosphere! Felt a bit slow paced, but was nonetheless and interesting experience!
Nice art style and idea! I struggled a bit to figure out how the attack works and after I died I stayed on the battle screen.
Excellent pixel art and well thought out!
Great graphics and very nice responsive controls!
Nice art style, but the UI is way too small, I could not read the tooltips on my screen so struggled to understand what to do!
Mood was pretty good. Scared me a few times. The last lazer puzzle had my hands sweating. Jumping felt a bit odd. It felt more like floating than jumping. Especially with the double jump. Also, if you fall while using the grappling hook, you grapple yourself and stay in mid which is a bit weird. With the last level, I feel like you should be able to jump when sliding down that incline.
Cool little game. All elements are nicely polished.
That was pretty cool. Loved the music. More types of buildings would have been nice :)
Pretty good! I enjoyed playing around with the various objects and seeing the effects! Quite funny ;)
Awwww...only 2 levels :( Nice simple art style. Unique and fun game
Pretty cool! Enjoyed the humor and the game was fun to play.
That was sick. All round great experience. Well done!
The art and music is great. It would be nice if interactive objects stood out more.
Excellent mood and music.
I got some serious flashbacks from the hedge maze in the original Alone in the Dark game!
The movement could have been a little bet better, would have loved to be able to step back and maybe walk a little bit faster there are some weirdness in the animations and some clipping going on, but still very impressive in the time frame.
Not bad. Walking sound could have sounded more spacey. The green crystal did not explode when shooting it with the green colour. Only worked when using all colours.
A bit confusing at first. Interesting concept but would have liked more.
I really liked the art and sound design on this one and the controls are pretty good!
Very punny! Enjoyed it, excellent idea!
Is this inspired by Islanders? I enjoyed it, got 139, would have liked some sort of visual feedback when you place buildings and variable grid sizes could have been cool as well. Good job!
Very cool! The voice acting made me laugh ;)
As some others have mentioned it would have helped if the frog rotated depending on his direction. I also struggled a bit to read the text and play the game at the same time. But otherwise I liked it a lot!
I got too cocky and the fox got me! Nice little game. Speeding up the gameplay might make it more of a challenge though.
Well done on your first game jam! The sounds were pretty funny.
Hahaha, very funny! I liked it, but it is a bit annoying going back to the wizard scene every time you go back to the fail a mini game!
Pretty fun and addictive
Excellent art style and pretty cool story! The notebook was a bit "reluctant" to pop up and the conversation sound effects was slightly annoying, but well done on the rest!
Such a cute idea! Very cool, would love to play this with my 5 year old and a stylus!
I enjoyed the music!
Very impressive and well polished! Would love to see a fully fleshed out version of this!
I really enjoyed the art style! Excellent idea and well pulled off. Movement feels a little floaty, but otherwise great work!
Wow, every aspect of that was great!
This was really different and unexpected. Story, art, sound and mood was pretty good all round. The gameplay/fighting was a bit weird though.
Very cool and fun game! I liked the way you handled the tutorials!
I did not really understand the controls, I could only move in one direction and could not quite figure out what I was supposed to do. There are some issues with regards to running in full screen on a high resolution screen as the menu is middle with the default unity screen in the background.menu.jpg The same applies to the game, but otherwise the art looks good!
Very impressive for a jam, nice puzzles! In traditional point and click there is quite a bit of walking around, but good solid entry.
Very polished! It plays and controls so well!
Well done, nice story and a good way of telling it!
Enjoyed the voice acting, not something you hear in a lot of game jams! Nice atmosphere.
Nice! I liked the artwork and the concept. The game is fun!
Awwww...I was just getting into it! Nice little game. The zig-zag walking is a bit weird though. And it took me some time to figure out how things worked. Tooltips in game might be useful. For example when you hover over one of the recipes a pop should be displayed. I feel like the "Something happened!" notification shouldn't be a red alert colour. A more neutral colour would be more appropriate unless something bad happened.
@Zsombro Sound was so close to being ready, but we only had one minute left before the cut-off!
@nachtwitch Thank you so much! We put most of the effort into the look! My brother did an excellent job with the modelling while I concentrated on the lighting. It was our first real try on a full 3D game.
@crochar which build did you try? There seems to be a bug surrounding the icons, especially if the window is small. Try rotating the camera, or playing fullscreen, click in the middle of the little icon!
Hey @daria-toni @rrawrr @attala @leonard-graf @crochar, thanks for your comments!
I think I managed to fix the input issues. I think it was an issue with accidentally having multiple event systems for the UI. I also added the missing music and sound effects.
Thanks @gasgiant, Lara Croft GO was definitely an inspiration! I loved that game!
@lightwaves try the bug fix version, I added some music and it makes a big difference!
@hiroboto we used unity plus blender for all modeling!
@trevor-shoe that is a good idea!
Thanks @philstrahl! That was very cool! Excellent feedback, and some of the suggested changes we have already started implementing.
Full disclosure, my brother designed the puzzle you struggled with, and I made him playtest it because I was too tired to figure it out, and to proud to admit it ;)
Pretty impressive for a weekend! There is a lot of content in!
So cool! Struggled a bit with the timing on the gargoyles, and there were a couple of bugs where the wizards got stuck on each other, but very well done.
Very good effort, I enjoyed it. The UI is minimalist but easy to understand. Would have loved to move a little bit faster!
Very polished! And I love hexes, but then again, who doesn't? Good job!
It was a all round nice looking fun game.
Spent way more time than I should have on this game! Some more gameplay mechanics or puzzles would have been great
Excellent art and fits the theme really well! Very cool!
Nice relaxing experience!
By spamming science I got to 1,000,000,000+ but the human race died by depression. If only they had this game to play...
Great artwork and a nice little story! I see from the comments you could fight? Never needed that... Music a lit bit grating, but otherwise a really good entry.
I struggled with the keys, the arrows sometimes worked, but would stop every now and then. I could not quite figure out what to do. But good job on the art and the concept.
Very nice atmosphere.
I really liked this, nice clean graphics and UI, fun to play and figure out!
Oh, and fantastic title!
I liked the art style a lot, I think the smashing part goes on a bit too long, but otherwise cool little narrative game!
Very nice entry, very polished, a lot of fun with some really interesting puzzles!
I would have loved an auto move of some sort and some more camera controls, especially a zoom.
Impressive entry; fun to play, nice level generation, simple and very polished!
It took me a while to explore the environment and figure out what all the different interactions were, but really great mood and graphics!
Wow! This is a lot of game for a weekend! I really enjoyed it, there were so many lovely little details in.
Really great art, very polished and well thought out mechanics!
I would have loved it if the game paused while reading the book and I struggled a bit to read the font used for the letters. I would have loved some tooltips or labels on all the items!
Pretty cool game. It gets challenging. Think what got me the most was when two shots are fired in the same spot.
Wow! Really nice entry! Very polished and a very cool idea with excellent graphics and mood.
The randomness makes it quite difficult, it would be could to have little more control over it to be able to plan slightly better and I think the dialogues are slightly too long.
But enjoyed it quite a bit!
I would have loved maybe some extra UI touches like showing a bot's health (or even use a damage texture) and would be cool to see their intended paths/if you are in LOS.
Good idea, but movement felt a bit unresponsive for this type of game.
I also think you went a bit heavy on the depth of field effect, which actually made it hard to see some of the items.
Wow, really beautiful artwork! The gameplay is simple, but very well executed!
Very nice pixel art with lots of cute little details!
On one of the playthroughs something weird happened and I was only asked to press S, no other keys... I did that for more than a minute.
Very impressive artwork, sound and mood! I am amazed at what you managed to fit in.
There were quite a few slightly odd English phrases in and some spelling mistakes in, but it is a lot of text and in two languages! Well done!
Nice art and a good fit for the theme. Something about the controls felt a little bit weird, I felt like I was driving in reverse or something.
Cool idea. Slightly on the easy side. There seems to be a ton of information that seems completely useless. I would stick to only showing the info relevant to the game mechanics.
Quite fun! Easy to play!
Nice art and music. More variety would have been cool.
Lovely cat model and I liked the camera movement. It's a shame you could not fit in more, but Ludum is all about learning and having fun!
Super cute! I really liked the visuals!
The flight controls feel a bit sluggish, and sometimes poops are in areas that trigger transitions to the next screen or behind buttons. I would love to see this fleshed out a bit!
Think my 5 year old dragon obsessed minion would really love this, will get him to try it a bit later today!
Short and sweet! Was fun to try to speedrun this. I got to just above 30 seconds.
Wow, gorgeous visuals, I especially loved the rain drops! This was very relaxing!
I got stuck one some of the rocks once, but pretty cool otherwise!
I had fun, but I have to replace my F key now ;)
Nice art and quite fun, although a little repetitive and not a lot of depth in the fighting except for hitting the attack as fast as possible.
There were quite a few spelling mistakes (understandable for a jam) and the fonts used in the conversation was too small.
Vertical parallax on the background would have helped, on one of the elevators I wasn't sure if the elevator was moving or not, because the background was static.
Cute graphics and nice idea! I found the intro text a bit difficult to read, it was a bit dark. The map is huge and it is easy to get lost!
I really liked the art style and effects, and the dice mechanic was well implemented. I was not sure what exactly the different dice actually did, but interesting concept that should be fleshed out a bit more!
Very cool idea and nice art and effects. The controls felt a bit off, it was strange to rotate the camera with the keys when trying to throw and I would have appreciated crosshairs or something to indicate where the shot would go (helicopter or baby).
I really enjoyed it! Excellent writing and very well done. I enjoyed the mood and the music.
I played the latest version. Awesome idea. It definitely caught my attention. Loved the cut-scenes. Music and sound affects were great. All-round pretty polished game. Well done.
I was slightly confused at first and had to play a second time and read the tutorial again. IMO if the game is played using the keyboard, the UI (menu and tutorial) should also be interactable with keyboard. Esc menu mouse position was a bit off. Needed to aim much higher to click on continue and accidentally quit twice.
Some really good work on this one! I love eco style games!
I would have loved some more clear instruction, but had fun trying to figure out what to do.
Nice little game! Fun, simple mechanics and the addition of a high score tracker makes it so much more compelling to play just one more round ;)
Good job!
Very well done! I really liked this! Art was great, gameplay was simple and fun, lots of little details and the turtlecats were fantastic!
Great concept and very nice graphics! Excellent use of the theme and very original.
Wow, amazing voice acting, not something I think I have said before in a game jam! Good application of the theme.
I struggled quite a bit with the controls and I think if the enemies were more predictable it would be better to plan.
@fuchsi @weine @wilhelmstein @flying-dog-fish @ecmjohnson @japes thanks for playing!
I agree, it is a bit easy, but you can also lose pretty quickly on a unlucky run. We only got to play testing VERY late (like a couple of hours before submission!)
We were thinking of only allowing one radio card in the deck every round, that would stretch it out a bit more and you would burn through the deck much faster, meaning your fire would burn out easier.
@ecmjohnson The web build seems to have issues with some text disappearing, especially when changing resolution, it must be some sort of unity bug.
@wilhelmstein My wife drew the card art for us in between trying to keep our small kids happy during lockdown! And it might be my favourite poem...
@zoarfy @nick-biglin @cobear25 @whatnamegames @noirdrive @andre-fremaux I am glad you enjoyed it!
We are definitely going to polish this up!
First pass is on getting the mechanics a bit more solid, tweaking the difficulty and adding more interesting choices and cards!
@taran-unraveler The original idea was to have multiple locations to visit, so the fight would have been in a clearing or something.
@hiisileiri Isn't the whole point of Ludum to bite off more than you can chew?! :-) Very strange, that is the first time someone has mentioned any crashes. I know the text disappears on the web build when switching resolutions.
@honey Did you have no audio?! That is weird, there is a lot of music and sound in.
Otherwise, thank you for your extensive feedback.
I agree stretching the game is not the solution, but adding more interesting choices. I want to double down on the idea of a narrative solitaire card game and have quite a few ideas for doing this!
@turncoda I agree with the choice comment, the only real reason to pick the ? is that you really want the radio parts. So the main tweak we want to do is to only allow one radio part per turn. This will cause the deck to burn through faster as well, upping the pressure a bit. Thank you for the excellent video reference!
@honey Correct! We spent quite a bit on audio as the mood of our previous entry suffered because we did not have sound. I used some assets I bought from the asset store.
Next Ludum I am going to get my 3 and 5 year olds to do the sound effects! ;)
@fuchsi @weine @wilhelmstein @flying-dog-fish @ecmjohnson @japes @zoarfy @nick-biglin @cobear25 @whatnamegames @noirdrive @andre-fremaux @honey @turncoda @epicular
Based on all of your feedback I have made some updates to the game!
It was pretty easy to win because you could quite easily get all the radio parts in a few rounds. So I made the change that the deck contains two radio cards that draws from a radio deck. You can therefore only get a maximum of two radio parts until the discard. This gives more incentive to pick the ? card. This also makes you burn through the deck faster, causing the fire to drop faster which adds more pressure.
I tweaked the rewards for beating monsters. You can also sometimes get a radio card by beating a Monster 3. This makes it worth fighting, although risky.
I also added three new cards with some more interesting game play scenarios with positive and negative effects.
I felt inspired so I updated all the card art to fit my original idea better.
@zenris There are some text rendering issues related to Unity's WebGL, especially when changing resolutions. Can you try without going fullscreen, or going fullscreen as soon as possible before the main scene is presented?
@macdoom Blank screen? You don't have a screenshot? There are some text rendering issues related to Unity’s WebGL when changing resolutions. Can you try without going fullscreen, or going fullscreen as soon as possible before the main scene is presented?
Haha. That was pretty weird! It took me a couple of tries to finish level 2 but I couldn't stop until I made it.
Very impressive game! It is complete, polished and fun to play.
I really liked the cohesiveness of the art and it is a fantastic use of the theme!
Really cool fonts, what did you use?
I thought it might be! Nice, helps with the unique look!
Wow, this is a lot of game and polish for a weekend! Very impressive entry, solid graphics, nice gameplay.
The only negatives is that the platforming was a bit floaty and frustrating when falling into the acid. A checkpoint would have been welcome!
Haha, very nice! A fun silly game with excellent art! Really original idea!
Nice art style!
Nice!
Wish the camera was zoomed out a bit so I could see ahead a little more and I struggled a bit picking the babies up consistently.
I found it a little bit repetitive, but otherwise good job! The pixel art is quite nice.
Very nice atmosphere and a interesting game!
Interesting game! I loved all the little details you put in! I named my mushroom Audrey!
Nice retro entry! Clever use of the theme and good art.
I got stuck on the left side of the screen on one run and couldn't die or move.
Cool characters and atmosphere. The game is a little confusing. Its not clear what you are supposed to do. The ladder scene is too dark to see whats going on. Its weird that the girl just starts climbing a ladder you cant see.
Nice job with the mood!
Was reaching the people the end of the game? For me it just stopped there.
Solid entry! Nice art and well executed.
I did find it quite difficult, my mouse clicking ability is not especially quick!
Nice style and I think it fit the theme really well!
All in all a solid entry, but it would have been nice to have the camera zoomed out slightly to have more time to react to enemies, holes etc. I felt that I had to sort of die once to learn of an obstacle and then restart and try it again, but because you don't have checkpoints, that means all the way from the beginning.
I had fun! Nice fluid controls and action!
Congratulations on your first Game Jam! Its pretty solid. Character/enemy art and animations are cool.
More sound effects would have added a lot. Also ramping up the difficulty would have made it more challenging. Upgrade mechanics would keep it interesting.
I really like the idea, but struggled a bit with how to play, a tutorial or even explanation on your itch page would help. Nice job on a first game and entry, though! Keep on working on it and really try to polish it!
Nice atmosphere. I liked the sound. The head bobbing is a bit too much imo.
Good idea, with some decent art, but like others mentioned the dragging controls definitely needs some fixing!
Pretty funny idea!
Nice game! Quite long and a bit grindy, but fun idea with some decent art! It really missed some arcade sounds for atmosphere...
The Gods work in mysterious ways... I had fun trying to figure out what they wanted me to do!
A nice idea, would have enjoyed it if there was some goals, like achieving a specific output or something like that!
Very nice, I loved the cute little fish balls! Very polished, the only thing that I did not enjoy was the slow movement of the claw going back to the pond in the middle, wished a mouse click could skip the wait!
I liked how it looked, but I struggled a bit to figure out what to do.
I played it on my big 4k tv, but found the UI buttons so small that I could hardly read them.
Excellent atmosphere and a pretty good little story! I enjoyed the characters and exploring your world!
The only critique I can give is that I wished the robot moved a little bit faster as there is a lot of going back and forth (but this is almost a staple of point and click games)!
This is incredibly impressive for a weekend's work! The art, presentation and feel is amazing! I really hope that you continue working on this to add some more strategic depth and push for more synergy opportunities with the characters!
I liked the concept, but it took me a while to figure out what exactly I had to do! Maybe posting a tutorial video would be helpful!
Really gorgeous art! I would love to live in this world!
A solid and polished entry!
I liked the simple shapes, they are easy to read! Freya's library is the best!
Very solid entry (as usual)! The gameplay was simple, but fun and I liked that you could wrap around the edges, even though the art does not really suggest that as the island is surrounded by water. The sound design and graphics were really good and you managed to make it feel really polished!
Really fun little game! Excellent presentation and good effective art.
On my first try I did not realise you could add tracks and just waited to fix things, which was a little boring. Maybe that could have been better indicated, but luckily I then figured out you can lay more tracks and had lots of fun.
Other little issues I found was that some times the trucks bunch up a bit and get stuck in each other, also it is difficult to see where the train is going next as the tracks don't really overlay each other in a logical way.
Very funny!
The art is good, the gameplay simple but fun! A really solid entry.
The only thing I did not love was the mouse control felt as if it went in the opposite way, but I got used to that pretty quickly!
That was quite fun! Controls took a bit to get used to, but nice effects!
Super polished, great graphics, music and gameplay and a really good concept!
Excellent voice acting and good funny writing! I enjoyed your game!
That was so much fun, really good idea, executed exceptionally well!
My only complaint was the music was a little bit repetitive!
Pretty good application for the theme, I quite enjoyed the puzzles!
Great concept and very good execution!
I really enjoyed it! The only thing I would missed was a restart option!
Very relaxing and chill experience! Really enjoyed the music!
As far as the mechanics goes it does not feel like you have a lot of control, some extra juice with movement would help a bit with game feel. Maybe speed up while in the air and slow down again once you land?
Haha, what a lovely and silly take on the theme! Nice effort!
Good fit for the theme! I enjoyed the mood and visuals, I felt the controller or viewpoint was a little bit too high (maybe I'm just used to being shorter!)
Excellent graphics and a fun world to explore!
I loved how the world transformed as you died over and over!
I would have loved to be able to rotate the camera, and I think the UI could do with some more love, the font in particular clashed a bit with the rest of the game's presentation.
I found the first traps on the stairs a little bit too difficult would have loved a way to disable that so that I would not have to go through it again if I messed up somewhere further along!
Wonderful mood, audio and art! I really enjoyed this!
Being not great at music, I did not feel I have a lot of control, I merely played along, pressing buttons semi-randomly.
Wow, apparently I am the worst meteor! Only wiped out 70% of the dinosaurs!
Fun game!
Nice solid entry, good innovative use of the theme!
I got up to wave 3, I enjoyed it. I think the UI needed a bit more love, presentation of the build list could have been better.
So shiny! Nice effort, good atmosphere and some nice storytelling with the logs!
Very nice art for three days! The rewind animation was very nice. I did manage to fall through the world on one occasion when I rewinded.
Very well done, excellent art, UI and atmosphere! I enjoyed it, but struggled a bit against the licky monsters!
Others have also mentioned it, but the pickup animation felt a little bit slow, I think I would have liked if I could just run over an item to automatically pick it up! I would rather throw it away then with a button.
Fun game! It is definitely a very annoying way to time travel! Haha, it took me a while to understand how to use that!
Excellent visuals, music, UI and presentation! I enjoyed the puzzles, really good use of the theme!
Nice entry! I liked how you taught the controls and mechanics, and the grannies were hilarious!
Very nice art, you built a huge world with great variety in such a short time! I managed to save Granny! The intro movement was way to fast, and the game's pacing felt so rushed, I did not really have time to read the conversations.
@japes @inanimatecarbonrod Thanks for your feedback!
I agree that adding that indicating which object is closest might make it less confusing! I am also adding tooltips to the element to help remember what the different cards do.
Some additional cards might also mix it up (like switch positions with closest object, push all objects away etc.)
@steffo There are less push cards, because you have to try and use the AI player to keep on getting closer to the exit. The AI always tries to move as far forward as possible and the least amount of moves backwards. Knowing this, you should try to move so that he can slingshot using your ship and get into a position so that you can slingshot off him!
@kotovnav I thought I caught most of the bugs! Thanks, will fix that one!
@rongo-matane Thank you for your valuable feedback!
I added a note for the changes, based on the feedback, we added color to the tutorial text to indicate the colors for pull, push and tractor as well as a tooltip to the elements to remind the player what each element does. We also added a selection ring to the closest object to help with the mental calculations!
@cedric86 @lamossus @steambrain thank you for your feedback!
What I like about the mechanics, is that it is impossible to get to the end on your own, as you cannot finish using pull cards! You have to "assist" the AI so that you can slingshot past him in the final stretch.
The AI follows some simple predictable rules so that you can use that to your advantage. He always tries to move as far ahead as possible, and if it is not possible to move ahead, he will move back as little as possible.
From most of the feedback I gather that the amount of pull cards vs push cards is a bit of a problem, but I tend to win quite often, but it is because I am so familiar with the mechanics. Balance is so hard to get right in a game jam! I've been thinking that the best solution to this is multiple difficulty levels!
@samuli @rei-dunamis More players is definitely on the cards, and I think it would be much better against human players!
@coleslaughter Thanks for playing, it looked like you had lots of fun!
I really loved to see you play multiple rounds and gradually figure out what to do and I am glad you managed to win (win percentage is pretty low)! I enjoyed how you were caught off guard by the sudden appearance of the AI ;)
We are planning on adding quite a few additional things to this project!
I really struggled to figure out what to do, but I went back and tried again and figured it out!
Nice game, cool idea with some really nice graphics and mood!
Quite fun with some nice art! I would have loved for gameplay to mix up a bit as you go further!
I loved it! The graphics (and audio, I think) did not seem to load on any of my browsers, but I could still play!
That was a lot of fun! I really enjoyed the application of the theme, the art and the gameplay. Really solid entry!
Nice graphics, excellent use of the theme and some pretty good puzzles! It is a very polished entry! Some particles/tracks showing the previous couple of moves of each cube might have been interesting as well, as I found it hard to visualize (remember) the route each cube takes. As there are only a maximum of 2 moves per puzzle, some visual indicator would have been nice!
Very nice game, good gameplay and full of great little touches - I especially enjoyed the hats!
Very nice moody artwork! I figured out how to open the safe, but did not know what to do after that?
Quite nice! Sometimes the food items seem impossible to avoid in the unhealthy land, but I guess that's life? ;)
Excellent overall entry! The presentation was especially slick, and I enjoyed the puzzles, but found them a little bit easy.
I would be great to record the number of moves and compare them against the optimal amount, otherwise it is relatively easy to solve by just playing around.
I really enjoyed that! Excellent presentation, minimalistic design with great gameplay. I like how the puzzles ramp up and teaches you along the way without using any instructions!
I struggled with the controls quite a bit, it felt inaccurate. Otherwise nice looking art and some good atmosphere!
Quite a fun game, and you score extra points for using one of the coolest animals!
Beautiful art! The dice felt a little weird, and I could not quite understand how it fit in with the rest.
As a note, I played on a 4K tv and the font was VERY small, I had to stand next to the television to read it. But I did read it ;)
Excellent (but gross) art! Great application of the theme. A good polished entry!
Such a polished incredible entry! The visuals, sound and presentation is absolutely top notch!
Interesting experience, thank you for sharing this with us.
Very cool and very funny! The sound made me laugh, and I loved that you used stop frame animation!
It is a shame that is was so short as I wanted to play some more!
Very nice and juicy! The gameplay was really nice, the controls were responsive, the screenshake perfect!
Nice old school game, it was quite fun. I think you start with a little too much health and a pause before each level starts would be nice!
Very cool idea and excellent art! I liked it!
I would have loved it if the churros you made in the first game was reused. For example, if you made a short one that would affect the timing for the filling.
I also want a churro now...
Such a great game! Art, music and mood are all fantastic. It is fun to play and quite challenging!
You used rotoscoping? Very cool! Check out https://ebsynth.com as another interesting project!
I enjoyed the push-your-luck design!
A nice chill game!
I would have loved a little more depth (haha) in the gameplay and I was not crazy about the font choice.
I melted the snek! Fun and silly, with adorable art!
There are so many great little details in this game! The reflections, the running animation, the character expressions! The writing is great, the story is interesting and the music really adds to the mood.
The game play it self feels slightly tacked on, but that is also just driving the story and the experience.
Fun game, a little bit too grindy.
When I came to the blue planet there was no resources I dug down until my oxygen ran out, but did not see any!
I preferred the keyboard controls. The gameplay needs a little more depth or interesting choices. The voxel art was quite nice!
Nice game! I enjoyed the story, colours and the voice acting!
The controls felt a little imprecise to me, I felt like there was a bit too much slide when jumping onto a platform and with the relatively low jump height I would often miss jumps or slide over the platform when making the jump.
Very cool game! I liked the art and it was fun to play. I think there are a little bit too much going on to get a hang of it in a short time!
Excellent game! I really loved the mood and art direction on this!
As mentioned in some of the comments above I agree that you are a bit at the mercy of the random number gods. It might make sense to weight the numbers based on requirements (if energy is low boost the odds of getting energy). As you can't see that far ahead you can change elements and the player won't know.
I don't think it is necessary for players to click on the root node every time they want to make the next decision, simply clicking on the next target should grow the roots there.
Pathfinding occasionally took some strange paths, but overall worked very well and most importantly looked natural.
On my final run I ran into a unpassable bit where there were obstacles across the width of the screen.
You can split nodes?! I completely missed that. Went back to try it again and it makes a big difference strategically!
Maybe just increase the energy gain slightly?
That was quite fun and well done. The guy was such a bro bro!
Very impressive game, so polished and fun to play. You guys are a very good team who seem to consistently produce really interesting experiences!
Initially I struggled a little with the hand as a cursor. I wanted to place the fingers over the spot instead of the middle of hand, but it was easy once I adjusted.
Very nice game, I really liked it. The art was great, especially the animation!
The controls are nice and responsive and the puzzles, while not particularly hard, are fun to solve. I really wish for some more of the types of puzzles that we saw in the last level.
It would have been nice if the crystals light up more when the flashlight is over them.
I really liked this, the atmosphere was amazing! I liked how small I felt in this huge place, but also at the same time wished I could see the characters a little bit closer! Maybe for a full version a dynamic camera system can work well to allow for close ups and zoomed out scale shots.
I wished there were a little more for each character to do, especially the mage felt a bit like a passenger. I was also not a fan of the rangers aim mechanic, I think maybe using a mouse for aim and mapping the interact button to left mouse and switching to mouse wheel can work?
I hope you continue working on this, as I would love to explore the mines further!
Very pretty and relaxing, I really enjoyed it! There is no real challenge or purpose except enjoying the lovely art!
Great concept, it took me some time to figure out exactly what to do, and how everything works, but after that it was a nice puzzle!
I think some more work on feedback to the player will really make it come alive! Things like sound effects, particles, preview of what will happen once I place something, cards that cannot be played should be grayed out.
Good art, with an interesting mechanic. I think maybe the timing bar could display close to the character, because it felt a bit disconnected having to constantly watch the bar instead of the playing field!
I got a time of 0:00 as well! Otherwise, amazing design, you teach all the new abilities so intuitively! Great job!
Decent little game! It could definitely use some sound to improve the atmosphere. I found a bug where I finished the game and then a spider thing killed me after the win condition.
Is your site down?
Amazing entry, fun to play, gorgeous to look at and really addictive with a great push your luck design.
The only thing I feel is missing is some sound effects especially for the UI to add that little bit more juice!
Pretty good effort, some nice art and concepts.
It was a bit buggy! I managed to get stuck in the first door's pillar and floated upwards. When I got to the second duplicating totem I could not switch between the characters, they both moved at the same time.
I solved the puzzles, but the game got stuck when I went into the laboratory.
The picture puzzle would benefit from snapping the rotation more, and allowing rotation to both sides.
Ah man, I can't believe the ending was cut off!
Otherwise really solid entry, excellent art, mood and storytelling!
There were some issues that I saw: Struggled to click on the locker with the flashdrive in, the circle sort of disappeared without triggering, but eventually it worked. Got a weird inventory message when I used the key card (cannot be consumed there is no space in inventory). Could not use oxygen tanks that was in the last slot.
I really liked this, and you get extra points for the snake in the boot! The animation and style was very charming and made me laugh!
Quite a fun game! I really liked the little shark and water texture. The controls feel a little bit sluggish, but it was fun trying to time my jumps with the ships. The sound was VERY load!
Such a cool game! I loved the graphics, the mood and the story. I would love to play a longer version of something like this with some more interaction with the environment and some puzzles!
Great atmosphere and mood! The gameplay is a little bit repetitive, but it is nice looking, controls well and very solid!
This was a great entry! Charming art, fun gameplay and very nice mood. You also got the seal of approval from my boys (4 & 6), this was there favourite game yet!
I loved how you effectively managed to tell the story as you go along. Are the fish randomly generated?
I played this with my boys (6 and 4) and we loved it! They liked saving their friends!
I thought the controls were interesting in that the fish moved on their own and you just control the camera. Would have loved a little more interaction and some sound effects.
I loved the voice acting! The game was cool too.
The camera angle made it a bit hard to see the back of the grid once lots of things are placed. Was there a way to rotate the camera that I missed?
I could not place a block in the front right cell for some reason.
A fun little game! I went down REALLY deep and did not find anything there! Would be lovely to have some interesting creatures at the bottom!
@fabula-rasa thanks and good score! I had randomized levels in but had a weird bug that I just couldn't fix in time! It is definitely coming in the next couple of days.
@microchasm I want to add little particles and effects to EVERYTHING ;) The connection to the theme is that the Dutch had to build dikes and polders to basically allow them to reclaim land from the sea. Huge tracts of land there is actually below sea level! The original plan with this game was that windmills can only remove water from one level below it, that would have meant adding windmills on progressively deeper levels to clear land! Hope that makes sense?
@g12345 Excellent score!
I am glad you enjoyed the Dutch names! We are Afrikaans (from South Africa) speaking which is a language based on Dutch. You can pretty much add any two nouns together to get a valid name ;) Yours means "to the South".
@fabula-rasa thanks a lot for the reports! Are you playing the web build or the windows version?
I fixed some backend stuff so I should be able to recreate it now!
@vesper thanks for your kind words! Dorfromantik was definitely an inspiration!
I wanted to create something without conflict or the concept of losing that is fun to create something beautiful!
@fire-soldier888 thanks for playing! An in game tutorial would help for sure, but it is ALWAYS last on the list in a jam! For our entry this year, it took quite a bit of time for everything to come together and we were furiously coding right up to the end to just get it in a polished state. At least it is first on my list for post-jam feautures ;)
@loveapplegames Thanks! I agree it is sometimes difficult to see which tiles are open especially when next to a windmill on a high block. I like the current angle so I was thinking allowing camera rotation and limiting the height difference between tiles.
We are South Africans, so close enough
Nice entry! Atmospheric and quite fun. Some more sound effects would have been great, maybe when a monster comes in range, a warning sound? The UI was slightly confusing when buying new skills, as the icons look like buttons, did not know I had to click on the crystals!
I loved this! The art, music and UI are all excellent and everything just feels good.
I think some of the rules are a bit unintuitive (damage from falling makes sense), but on one level the enemies died as I moved towards them (like 3 blocks away).
Very innovative concept and well pulled off! I really enjoyed this and it is quite impressive that you manage to even add upgrades in. Great job!
Very nice game! I loved the art and exploring the caves! Missed some sound effects to fill the world!
Nice game! Your presentation was excellent, everything works well together. The concept was simple and fun!
It needs a bit of polish, especially for the UI. I struggled a bit to figure out where to click and read the text, especially while diving. Pretty cool idea, I like the fact that you have multiple divers with their own stats!
As a test of your art skills I would say this was very successful! There are some inconsistency issues with pixel resolution (if that is the right word), but the overall look is great with some very nice animation.
I wish there was a little more game here as I would love to explore your world.
Nice game! Some of the jumping puzzles is a little bit frustrating, and it was a little bit hard to aim with the crossbow, but I liked it!
Quite interesting experience. Nice particle effects!
Like others mentioned, the movement was a bit jerky and distracting, but otherwise very nice art and a clever take on the theme!
I love isometric games, but I always struggle with directional keys, it would be nice to have mouse click to move in there as well.
Design wise I think the levels are a little bit too large (especially at the end), as there is not any real "puzzle" element to it, you sort of just struggle through it until you find the exit.
Simple, but well executed. The sound levels was a bit off, think it was to loud.
A nice twist on snake, and there is a nice ramp up in difficulty! I would have appreciated a slight pause before a new level starts to be able to plan a little better!
How old is your son?
I want to make our boys (4.5 and 7) part of a jam in the future as well! As they are quite young, I was thinking of either trying to get them to draw me monsters that I can animate or do all the sounds!
Nice mood and some solid lighting and level design. I loved the fact that I could dress up the cat!
I think the art style is actually quite interesting, although it is a little distracting, tone down the squiggliness (is that a word?) a little bit?
I also think you could give the player a little more feedback when hitting a enemy or landing, maybe a bit of screenshot or some visual indicator, like briefly flashing the screen red.
The game was otherwise fun, I got around 900m!
This was something different from a lot of the other games!
Good job with the visuals, story and mood! I felt the platforming jump should have jumped a little bit further.
A very relaxing, beautiful game!
The only critique I have is that very small on my 4k screen, and I struggled to read the text in the upgrade menu.
Excellent work for such a short time! The mechanics worked well, the mood was excellent and it was a different take on the theme!
Nice and fun little game, I also agree with @dylan-morrow that there were a little too many hourglasses!
Quite nice, I suggest to make it easier to restart by restarting with a key instead of just pressing on the button.
I really liked this game! Funny and very well executed. The gameplay was fun and engaging!
The controls and animations was a little rough around the edges, but an interesting art style and the wrapping levels were pretty cool!
I really enjoyed that! I can see you put a lot of effort into gamefeel. I loved the controls and thought the mechanics were clever and well thought out!
Although I think the theme is a bit of stretch, I would much rather have this than ANOTHER mining or diving game ;) The idea of the theme is to make you creative, and that is what you deliver on!
What a lovely game!
The writing was excellent, the pixel art really lovely (the croak animation was super cute) and the controls nice and responsive.
I really missed the ability to swim with all that water ;)
Quite nice, we had fun finding the treasures!
Nice game! Some of the jumps are pretty difficult and I got a bit frustrated with restarting completely if I died. But the art is nice and it was fun to play.
Great take on the theme! I really liked the world you built and would love to explore it more.
I found the combat quite hard, especially underground. I struggled to aim the hat. I felt like the hat defaults to down even if I was moving upwards.
A nice! This is a great entry! It controls really well, looks great and sound good too!
It is pretty challenging, edging on frustrating, but I guess it becomes a lot easier with more practice!
Nice fun entry! I would have loved to be able to see a LITTLE bit further, I normally didn't have time to react to mystery boxes except if they were really close to me.
I think the art is quite well done, but would have loved some more details for the borders on the side (rocks or something).
Good first entry!
You don't really make any choices in the game, but it was a cute and sweet story that I really enjoyed.
Great pixel art and smooth movement controls! I missed a little splash of colour and some more complexity as you go deeper would be nice.
Quite a nice game, it was fun to play! It would be nice if the animals moved a little bit away when they exit the hotel and maybe queue instead of all stand in the same place.
Very nice game! Soothing music, fun gameplay! The font seemed a little blurry, but otherwise very good effort!
A very nice puzzle game! I loved the gecko, and especially the transitions and the animation for entering a hole was great.
I struggled a little bit with walking backwards and hated accidentally going forwards and bumping a mushroom in the wrong direction! I think a undo key would be nice here instead of just a full reset.
I would have also loved to see the gecko do some more gecko-y skills like go up walls etc!
Nice game! Great pixel graphics although I did not really have time to admire or plan before the lava came down. I could not really figure out how the shop worked so I just kept on digging down as fast as possible!
Very clever mechanics! I think this was an excellent out of the box application of the theme with something I have not seen before.
I like the simple clean presentation, chill music.
I feel the tutorial screens are not particularly useful as there are a few too many screens without any context. But as the mechanics are simple it does not really matter.
As a small nitpick I wished clicking on another card would swap it, instead of having to press esc to deselect.
I would definitely play this some more! Especially if you can add some more scenarios, like maybe multiple enemies to block etc
Wow! By far my favourite entry up to now! Everything is so polished. I could really play this all night instead of rating other games!
Very funny and good use of the theme! A game does not always need to feature deep gameplay to make me smile!
Amazing sweet story with gorgeous art and music! The animations are wonderful! One of my favourite entries this jam.
Wow, there really is a lot going on in this game, I feel like I need more time to get a hang of all the mechanics! Excellent graphics, nice UI and fun gameplay!
A fun game with some decent artwork! There are lots of nice little details everywhere! The gameplay is not particularly challenging as it mostly just doing some slightly awkward conversions to BU, maybe some timers can add a bit more depth to it?
A 1300 on my first run, was a fun experience!
The jumping felt a little bit janky, but the rhythm bits worked very well!
@spooderdooder don't be too hard on yourself! I don't think it spoils the game, but look into using a tweening library and do the jump in code as it is easier to tweak!
Wonderful mood, the intro sets the tone beautifully!
The controls are quite unique and difficult to master in a good way!
Another excellent entry!
Beautiful art, it really felt like a real place! I like the way you told the story and while the gameplay is not particularly deep or difficult, this was a joyous cozy experience! The only thing I wished for was for not having to type the same function every time . Or having to perform different tasks for each of the to dos.
Fun, visually impressive with a lovely sense of humour!
The UI looks and feels great, but I would have loved some sound effects to just add that little bit. Maybe a different one for each of the action buttons! The panel with the result I feel needs a little bit more polish, it feels a little bit small in relation to the rest and I found the font also was a little bit too small. Changing the backdrop depending on the action chosen can also make it feel slightly more important.
Excellent entry overall!
Wow, amazing! The graphics and mood is really top notch. So many great little details! The gameplay was also very enjoyable and I really enjoyed exploring Mars!
I have a soft spot for minimalist space limited city builders so this is exactly my jam! I really liked your art and presentations.
Some small suggestions, a visual preview of the building about to be placed would be nice, and I think you could add the effects of each building type directly on the card as it makes it easier to compare which type of building you want to place without having to click again on each card.
It would also help if the different residential zones were slightly more distinct, currently this would be very hard to play for colour blind persons!
I hope you keep updating this as I would love to play more!
A very polished and fun game with excellent art! I especially loved the concert and the converted priest!
Nice idea! I also played the web version and everything was a little bit small for me and found it difficult to actually find my characters. Sometimes it felt that clicking for selecting was not responsive. Was the clicking based on tiles or characters? If it was characters maybe you could add a bigger collider around the characters for slight miss clicks. A button for quickly cycling through characters could also help. Some sound effects whenever a character is killed off would also add a lot!
I think you are officially my first unreal engine 5 game!
Some technical notes: The download size is pretty big for a small game, not sure if that is just due to the engine and performance was a little bit sluggish on my laptop.
It was a little bit hard to determine what the outcomes would be, which I think is kind of the point, but I would sometimes get the same cards which would lead to different outcomes. This makes it feel pretty random and I can basically choose any card as I don't know what the outcome will be and can't learn based on a previous run.
It was not obvious to me what the counter in the top right was, I think it was your age? But I only figured that out after the game.
Still, I had fun, the cards are nice to look at and the writing was good!
@danonino Thanks for playing! The game is actually saved from the beginning, if you go back to the main menu you will see a continue button and it goes back to where you were!
@nerzal Thanks for the detailed feedback! I also watched the stream and really liked watching you figure it out! The bug on the end was the game trying to go to the next level instead of to some more conversation and a "thank you for playing" screen.
@udo @teenythanos Thanks for your feedback, I slightly tuned the restart level timings, so it feels a little snappier.
@okamit I agree, this one should be reasonably simple to convert to a mobile game!
@adriannowak97 thank you, but surely https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/50/shotgun-king is the best chess game!
@japes thank you for the feedback! Puzzle design is so hard! For every person that says it is too easy someone also said it was too hard  Are you sure you played the latest build? I fixed the bug with the pieces (accidentally forgot to add the enemy layer to the raycast) and the game not ending properly on the last level.
Very nice graphics and mood! I wasn't 100% sure how everything worked together, but I guess that is business! ;)
For resetting the game in the web build you can just reload the scene! I hide the quit button for web builds as calling that leads to issues.
Quite a nice game, with good story telling, but my kids were disappointed that the cat did not get to explore! I really missed having mouse input!
Really nice artwork! I found it quite difficult, but fun!
A nice fun and quick game! I liked how you discover things as you go along!
I found it quite stressful and the game confirmed that I am not great at keeping plants alive! Really good presentation, I love the fun notes and writing and the art is cohesive and really nice overall. The gameplay was quite frenetic, but fun and I often caused the plants to accidentally fly off in all directions!
Pretty creepy mood and some nice visuals. I think it was a good innovative use of the theme!
Good, innovative use of the theme - also, unfortunately, very realistic in the current times  I enjoyed the game play, although I got stuck on the grass in the second level on some grass a couple of times (because I am a terrible driver).
There are also some weird clipping issues on the grass edges where I can see through the terrain.
Haha
Haha, quite enjoyed this! Gameplay was fun with lots of things going on! I liked the fact that a restart was so quick, which meant I played many more rounds that I thought I would!
A very cool game! Really good application of the theme and innovative mechanics! Like someone else said it would be nice to know where the reaper is at all times, so maybe a minimap could address that and help to plan a bit more! Runs are also quite random depending on how close spells are to you. Maybe make sure that at least one spell spawns close to you when the game starts.
Great art style and nice story telling! The only little nitpick was that the background panel for the inventory was just the default one, contrasting with the rest of the style!
I had fun, and my kids gave it two thumbs up!
Nice little rogue-ish! Looks like there is all sorts of hidden things in here!
Really nice art style and a good application of the theme! I enjoyed it, but could not figure out how to complete it. I put all the sheep in the circle but nothing happened!
I loved the music and the nice calm atmosphere! The wind effects were excellent. The only complaint I have is that the UI did not scale and I found it very small and a little bit difficult to read on my 4k screen.
Nice game! The controls felt good and it was fun to ramp a LONG way with the nitro on. Nice low poly art style!
I struggled a bit to find all the components, a mini map could maybe have helped to find the delivery drivers a little bit easier.
@ashashza While I was testing I only played in a small area while my brother was working on the camera and world. I realized later that not only can you not see the order anymore, you can also not see the timer, which makes it very difficult to know when the time is also up! I added an indicator for the active order as a small bug fix.
@jaco-van-hemert Thanks for playing! I like the idea of putting the resources in more logical places.
@sbeif There is definitely an ending after you complete the 5th story point (although it is not much more than going to a thank you screen)!
@aevek @japes One of our friends joined for the first time to do the writing. We used YarnSpinner for the dialogue system. He is not a developer, but it was really cool that he could write it!
@rjdrag I am really happy with how the art came together (except for the main menu, that is AWFUL).
The sides of the minimap was cut off for me, and it would be good if it was slightly more zoomed out, but I managed to find the bomb locations easily enough. Fun game!
I finally got a chance to play this and I really liked it! If you mix in some more mechanics in the next levels I would play this for a long time!
I think the only things missing is some more sound effects when things merge and when you place them, and I think highlighting the next block more would also help. I sometimes got them mixed up trying to think a few moves ahead and not concentrating!
Nice game! It was fun to play, I liked the chill music.
Very cute art, found the contrast a little bit too low. It was a little bit hard to easily see obstacles like spikes. I did not really figure out how to use the pelobati and I found some of the double jumps a bit unforgiving. But overall really nice.
Lovely art, I really liked the dissolve effect and the colours were nice and creative. The gameplay starts out a bit slow, but once it speeds up it is more fun!
I liked it! I managed to reach the end with 3 days left in very dire straits!
Very nice art and writing!
As some others mentioned, if we could see our position on the map or even the route that was taken it would help orientate us a little better. It would be cool to show at the end some statistics like number of people lost and gained, resources used etc.
Nice art and good atmosphere! Was fun, even though the controls were sometimes a little wonky, especially the dash allowed me to go into the air or out of the screen.
Nice concept and I like the art. It feel really hard to progress. Maybe allow some hits before you instantly die?
Really nice controls, good graphics and animation. It was fun!
I died quite a few times, it would have been nice to spawn at the bottom of the cliffs instead of back in the lab so I could try again faster.
Nice game, was a bit hard to figure out how it works exactly. But I loved the art and the cutscenes were funny!
I played this with my boys and we all agreed that this was epic!
I loved the fact that the rig steers itself, and that you add to the rig.
Some minor nitpoints: The trading part was a bit confusing. Showing the routes between the stations would probably have helped. The UI could probably get an extra pass. It felt a little bit disjointed
Great game! I played way longer than I intended! This was a very creative use of the theme!
I would have been nice to preview the level a little bit, or to at least start from the same template if you restart with a clear button if you want to completely redesign. Some descriptions of what the different parts are would also be helpful, although I guess part of the fun is discovering it.
Nice little game!
I found a bug where if you press Q while the inventory is open I was unable to close it again. When moving the truck it might make sense to leave a bit of space in front of the track when moving the camera, it feels constantly if I am going to be involved in a hit and run...
Really good atmosphere, and very nice graphics. Especially the card art and the lighting effects are really nice. I think it is a bit difficult without the hints, and frustrating to zoom in and out to the card and then back to the tablet. Maybe if you could pick something up and hold it close?
Very nice! I loved this!
UI wise, I would have loved to see current totals displayed when you summon monsters, even a preview would be cool as you hover over the spots. I am going to let my 9 year old play this tonight!
Very nice art and mood! I struggled a little bit to find out what to do or how to do it. It feels like there is an overwhelming amount of options to discover! Maybe could have worked to more gradually introduce some of the concepts. Like first time the goddess wants only something you planted, but then she asks for more next time?
Really lovely art and mood! I had some issues on my 4k display, where the UI does not scale so was very tiny, but changing my desktop to 1080p at least made it better.
Yeah! More word games!
I liked this quite a bit. It was well executed and I enjoyed figuring out the words.
Amazing entry! The graphics are so good, I just want to explore more of the world. I spent much longer than I anticipated playing this . I think the arrangement method could have been made a little bit easier, but it does not detract from the game.
This was quite hard, but fun to figure out! I really enjoyed the mood and I loved how it looked.
Great take on the theme! Nice well executed game with some good art and funny writing.
Nice game! I took a few tries to figure out the controls (even though you described it), but once I got it, it fun!
Wow, really well put together game! The visuals and mood is excellent and the puzzles difficult and satisfying!
Nice fun game! The hitboxes on the spikes are a little too unforgiving, but the controls are nice and smooth. I loved the look of all the different cultists. Good solid entry!
I played that for much longer than I expected! Really nice game, excellent art and sounds and a fun game loop.
Nice graphics and some solid gameplay! I feel like this is a good concept that can be made into a very cool game!
I really liked this! Fun gameplay loop and great graphics! The buttons does not really fit with the style of the rest of the game, but otherwise very cool!
Quite diffi(cult)! A really original idea, I liked it!
Nice game! It took me a while to take out the tower, but I did it! Graphics was really nice. Gameplay wise some slight adjustments might help, like highlighting the current selection of units, and allowing hotkeys to select them quickly, like 1,2,3.
@sicosiber I think you caught me just as I was uploading the build! Please try again!
@sicosiber Thanks for playing! I LOVE word games and strangely have never made one before!
@doot Glad you liked it. I was going back and forth on the font, as it really fits the look I wanted, but is not the easiest to read.
@fenix131113 Word games can be sometimes be tricky for people who does not speak the language natively. I think it is usually more about the math than the actual words, although a good vocabulary does help. The way I coded the word checking library it could work for any language, but I would need a full list of legal words for each.
@matthiasbroske Jolene is quite difficult! To get the required power is not so hard, but getting all the other resources can be tricky and you do need some luck for sure. I made the rounds short so failure is relatively low cost. @firellon Nothing beats the feeling when RNG Jesus smiles at you
@fishmasterino @stesim thank you for playing! I made a very small tweak to the RNG, to increase the probability of the resources you still need in the final rounds. There are some interesting discussions to be had around probability in game design!
@dreamscale I love word games too! I was thinking of things like multipliers, but ended up just using the word length for that because I ran out of time.
@rubikon It was really late and my brain was fried  You should have seen my kids faces the next day when I showed them the game with their art in and then they read the names!
@dartdimon that is a good round! Thanks for playing!
@hexy Glad you enjoyed it! I am so thrilled to have my boys join me, it was a nice creative family weekend! On randomness, I feel that as long as you keep the cost of failure low (short rounds), and cheat a bit, like boosting probabilities when needed so you feel luckier, it adds to the experience.
@cat-lab to be honest, I found myself playing this quite a lot, especially when I found out by accident it runs fine on mobile!
@pelmanable Thank you for playing! Three rituals completed is actually really good, no need to bash your English! I have lots of English friends who can't finish off Jolene
@digitaliliad Thank you for hosting!
@anifan-gelati I have never played 20 minutes, but the music I used is from John Leonard French. His pack of great tracks on the Unity asset store was in a Humble Bundle a while back and is quite widely used!
@frederikja163 It is really weird that you found some words that did not work, as I think I have a very comprehensive dictionary implementation! Almost any English word that is not a proper noun and that is more than 3 letters should work. If you can remember the words I would love to improve my dictionary.
Yes, my wife and kids did all the drawings! I did not have time to put them all in, but you can see the kids' raw images at the top and then I process them into the shadow things! monsters.png
The only other art is this sheet, that my wife did! combined.png
Thanks for playing! I always enjoy watching you guys stream these!
Fun factory style game! I wasn't really sure which items would come out of which portals, but it is easy enough to find out. I would add a fast forward and a reset button, but otherwise nice!
Pretty fun game, although it was very short! I struggled a little but to read the font, but the rest of the graphics was nice.
Very nice art and good intuitive controls! I wish the gameplay had a little bit more depth to it, adding for example a second cauldron could spice it up a bit!
Really great art and some very clever ideas! I really enjoyed it, excellent game!
Good simple idea executed well! Some really nice art and good controls! I enjoyed it!
Pretty interesting idea! Feels like you very little control, but there seems to be some strategies that work well. I managed to win!
Nice game! I enjoyed the art, the music and I thought the lightning strikes is a really good way to count failures! I also struggled a bit with the keys, but managed at least to finish the first two songs. No way on the Entertainer
The web build is not working that well for me. The UI is stretched all over the screen I have to zoom out the itch page to 50% to be able to play. I think it might be because I'm playing on a 4k tv. Any case, I loved the game! It reminded me of Inscryption. I liked the mechanics a lot and can see myself coming back for some more rounds!
I am not great at rhythm games and found it pretty difficult! It was interesting to let the notes come from the various sides and not in a straight path. Nice music and well executed game!
It was fun and funny! Good atmosphere, nice art and a fun mechanic. Would have loved some trickier puzzles, but great entry!
A nice looking and very polished game! I enjoyed it!
Nice match 3 game, although as others mentioned as well, the battle part is not super clear. I think the block dominated the screen so much (and are bright colors) that the auto battle part fades a bit. I think you could have gotten away with a smaller grid and larger battle scene.
It was a fun game! First tried on easy, which was easy, normal was a lot more of a challenge for me!
Saw it played on twitch and immediately tried it myself. I loved it! Excellent gameplay, well balanced, good graphics with some nice card art! GUI wise I think it would be better with the summoning circle in the center, but that is really a very minor complaint. Are you planning on expanding on this?
Wow I really loved this! Very cute art style, but I also really liked the puzzles! One of my favorites so far!
I could not download the windows file! I just get a message saying Not found.
Nice word game! How did you do the associations? I had fun playing this, but there were some weird graphical artifacts, black flashes over the screen that is a bit distracting.
Weird, I cannot take a screenshot or video capture of it, which makes me think it is some sort of vsync/refresh rate issue. It looks almost like black flashing scanlines, but I don't think it is in danger of making anyone feel ill.
I played with Word2Vec a few years back as I wanted to use it to associate words with categories, so that for example a certain theme is picked like Beach and these words score higher points on a round.
Very nice, I loved the art! I had a good time figuring out the combinations. With a bit more time you can really expand on this!
Nice game! I liked the art and the game was fun.
It was really fun! I loved it, the puzzles were excellent. One of my favourite entries so far!
Great puzzle game! I like how you introduced the abilities of the wizards! It was not always clear which way the wizards was facing, but simple enough to figure out. I really wanted to burn those crates
It was very cool! I loved figuring out all the puzzles!
Interesting game! There is a lot going on and it can probably do with some tutorials/hints. I was a little lost in what to do and how to achieve things, but still fun!
Nice fun little game with quite a bit more depth than what is initially apparent! Add some juicy animations, music and bit more polish and you have a winner that would really well on mobile!
I found it very difficult, but still fun to play! Good entry!
Nice game! I think you made great use of the theme and did something different! I really liked the art you made, the wind particles are the standout.
Very well done, excellent mood and pretty creepy! The bobbing effect was a bit too much for me, but I managed to finish the game!
Lovely art style! The controls are very busy, I found it difficult to type and move with the mouse. I think if I could move using the arrows it might be easier to control.
A-mazing gameplay . Very effective art style, nice and moody with an interesting story. Good job!
Good job on the atmosphere and the mood! The kyes are a bit hard to spot and I spent quite a bit of time going in circles, but it felt nice and quite old school with the thick fog
Incredible art and animation. Really polished work. I could not quite figure out how to get deeper into the mouth of the crocodile.
Incredible graphics, really well done with really fluid animations. It was a little bit dark for my liking, but I guess that fits the theme!
Good job, having full voice acting is great! Hope you had fun making it. Delightfully weird!
I really liked this, very nice mood and fun to play! I liked getting new tools to things in different ways.
@generictoast thanks for playing! It was my first time creating pixel art so that was a fun experience.
The discard thing has been bugging me as well, I wanted to have a confirm button, but dragging and dropping to trash/whirlpool is a really elegant solution.
@prvaak @P1x3lc0w thanks for noticing the small things! Every jam I try to improve on this.
Previewing the effects of placing a card would be great, will see if I can add something like that in the future!
@buckmeister 66 is a good first try! I think my high score is around 90.
@generictoast the main complaint from basically everyone is the discard, so I managed to add a whirlpool based on your suggestion to drag to and it makes a huge difference. I don't know why I did not think of it before
@kingmaharg thanks for playing! One of the design goals was to make you discover the rules as you go along to fit in with the idea of being a scientist studying the ecosystem. So every subsequent round you improve as you understand more how the different creatures work together.
@donutshoes that is a good score! For post-jam my number one goals are adding a bit more personality to the current inhabitants - variations (like different corals, tiny reef fish etc) and animations to make the playing field less static.
@0x-void-x0 Really? That's your first score? NICE!
I am a huge nature nerd, and a BBC fan, so I tried to copy the feel of the original Planet Earth intro, but with pixel art.
@miku thanks for playing and the valuable input. I added the whirlpool to the side so that you can still decide which creatures you need, but one option I guess is that the FIRST time we hit the discard phase to add something to explain it.
@caer thanks for playing! That is an excellent first score!
@yorsh 90 is a really good first score! I don't know how balanced it is either. I think mantas are a bit overpowered, but there are several different strategies. In the end I don't think it matters as much especially in a jam.
@piero-pbes-studio previewing of effects and animation is on the cards for the post jam version. I think specific goals or points would make a good addition!
@momotiktik I would love to enter the audio category, but I can't create my own sounds and music so used a pack. I spend a lot of time to make everything work together, but always see this as part of Mood instead of audio.
@alvaron thanks for playing I am glad you enjoyed it!
@senso thanks! there are plans for a bigger version, I was thinking of exploring some other biomes as well
@wallted thanks for the comments! I will see if I can squish those bugs!
@tygrak Excellent score! Glad you enjoyed it!
Very interesting concept! The actual jumping controls are a bit floaty and it takes a bit of getting used to switching colours quickly, but well done!
Nice art style, well used to stretch it a lot! Gameplay was fun, I found boosting the attack guy all the time combined with repeat actions made the fights pretty easy.
The first time I played, I lost mouse control for some reason and was really confused on how to steer the ship, but luckily I tried again and it worked! Good atmosphere and nice fluid controls.
Really nice game! Great use of colors, it really sets a nice mood along with the music! I like how you managed to bring in so many different mechanics for the letter sequences.
I enjoyed that!
Like some others have also suggested the controls are a little hard to get used to, in one round I never jumped I just dive onto enemies and then float the rest of the time, when I did land I instantly died, diving into the ground. Two possible suggestions: make S dive and space jump, or if you press dive when on or very close to the ground negate it?
Otherwise good fun entry!
I really liked this, it was a lot of fun to play! I found the font a little hard to read, and I would have loved to be able to see a summary of the skills I applied to each of the balls when hovering over them, but a really solid game!
Nice music, and great job with the intro. This has real flash game vibes from the olden days!
The UI was really really small on my monitor (4K tv) so I could not really read anything, but a fun game with some nice art!
Haha, nice twist on the theme! Very silly, and sweet and short.
I played this with my boys and they really like it! Good gameplay loop! I loved the useless setting in the menu
Really nice art style, and fun to play. I liked the UI design a lot, great job!
Nice game, art worked well even though it was minimalistic, but think the contrast could be boosted on for example the spikes. They are a bit difficult to see and the timing needed is quite precise.
Really nice art, but without visual feedback it is a bit hard to really understand the attacks. With a few tweens you can make it feel much more lively with relatively little effort. The gameplay is pretty solid, and I got to the dragon pretty easily, but the jump to the boss was quite big!
I just realised the art style looked familiar! You made that very cute game in LD55!
Nice game! I enjoyed it and would like an expanded version. As someone else mentioned full screen did not make the game larger so I had to squint a bit to see the text, but managed to beat the king quickly. I think the swapping ability was a bit wonky as he swapped to the position literally in front of me without any backup.
That was fun! A really good case for a online leaderboard!
The graphics are really nice, but for some reason the scaling is really weird on my pc, making it really hard to see. Screenshot 2025-04-09 212535.png
I struggled a bit with the controls and got stock on the terrain in a few places. But nice art and mood. I think changing it to an auto shooter might be fun.
Breathtaking art! I would love to explore this world more!
There were a couple of weird things with the frame, for example when reaching the end it looked like this Screenshot 2025-04-08 220840.png
Fun little game, well done!
Nice! Simple idea very well executed. Certainly has that just one more try feel!
Great job with the tentacle! Gameplay was simple but fun, with a good push your luck idea.
Congratulations on finishing your first game jam! Hope you had fun making it and learned a lot!
Not much gameplay, but some solid writing!
I played the web version and it is a bit zoomed out, fullscreen would help a lot I think, but it is a fun game, with a nice loop in.
Very silly and fun! My boys loved it and was laughing so much. Especially at the characters booty
Beautiful art, but could not quite figure out what to do. I found the mushroom, ring and guitar, and managed to do something with those, but got stuck on the backpack. The compass just bounced, but did not do anything and I could not get back to the main screen from there.
OK, I tried again and could figure out the backpack. After I used the ring, the screen went black. Is that the end?
