Wow! Nice job! The animations are really clean

plloyer 2020-10-05 21:09

Very good! Looks nice and fun to play

prostone 2020-10-05 21:20

This is really fun, I love puzzle games like these! Looks very polished and has all the features of a finished (mobile) game! Animations are great, music fits the graphics/theme. Was stuck in a loop more than a few times! Really polished for a jam game imo! Note: Possible bug, you can swap commands when the action is playing (it doesnt stop the time) and new commands are not taken into consideration, robot is still repeating the old ones. Stop and play works thought :]

bjornstahl 2020-10-05 21:31

Looks great and felt polished, I would have like some kind of indicator of how many instructions you could use. I thought I could only use 3 until the last two levels. Got unnecessarily difficult ^^

eneman 2020-10-05 22:03

Nice arts, animations and music.

floboc 2020-10-05 23:21

Very cool idea and execution! I was not sure however if it was expected that I could switch the list of logic actions while they are playing

hanra 2020-10-06 08:07

This was a lovely, soothing experience. Thanks for making it :)

fachscahfttf 2020-10-06 08:11

really cute take on "robo-rally". seen many games with this "looping instructions"-idea; but yours is by far the most polished one. Good Job!

core69 2020-10-06 09:54

A charming innovative robot game that i dont have the attention span to finish. well done!

life-lich 2020-10-06 10:00

I had a hard time judging your game, because the last thing I want to do right now is programming after the jam. though I have given it a good score, because I do believe that I would normally like it.

antaresvaldemar 2020-10-06 10:09

Fantastic game, I like the mechanic of using a loop of code and having the robot eventually reach the goal due to the obstacles changing its course. I beat all the levels! Was really just trial and error for the most part, though I did try to think ahead a bit as well. Loveley visuals and audio. 2020-10-06_11-06-24.png

bentebent 2020-10-06 10:12

@antaresvaldemar Damn dude, I'm impressed, well done!

Also thanks to everyone for your lovely feedback!

caladrius 2020-10-06 10:20

A tried and tested idea made your own with a cute aesthetic and heaps of polish. The level transitions were absolutely fantastic, and the whole flow of the gameplay was great

If I had any feedback, it'd be that it feels almost backwards putting the instructions in the top corner and the time controls in the bottom. Swap those around, and I think it'd be golden! Also, I think changing an instruction should reset the time setting, as on my first play it took me a while to work out I had to pause and press play again to get it to go.

Phenomenal job guys, really impressive for a team of 2!

duke 2020-10-06 10:55

Nice implementation of the theme! Those kind of games aren't really my cup of tea and I ended up having to brute force my way around the riddles :v: The tutorial in the beginning was a good idea because the UI wasn't self explanatory. Also, the soundtrack choice was spot on! Gameplay was fluid and responsive. The art, though a little bland, was put to good use. All in all a cohesive experience!

victor-reiner 2020-10-06 18:12

Very good idea and execution. The music and graphics are great. It has been difficult for me to pass any of the levels. But that does not detract from the great work you have done!

And above you have left the code for us to learn. Thank you very much for so much.

Good job!

citdev-chris 2020-10-06 18:21

loved this. really well put together.

mrwahloh 2020-10-06 19:16

Yes, this is definitely a game that I would play. Infinite possibilities when more complex commands are implemented, could even be used to learn kids the basics of programming like they do with scratch.

The visuals, animations and audio are great and fit together really well. The tutorial was a nice addition, it's so much better to learn the controls in the game instead of having to read text.

keithdae 2020-10-06 19:22

Very cute and fun game, great job! I do agree that an indicator of how many instructions you can use would be perfect. Great music choice

jamster 2020-10-07 01:17

Are you a UI/UX designer? Thought the UI was beautiful. The gameplay was good -- I felt like I wanted my choices to have to be locked in so it was more puzzle-y. Overall, this was very impressive for a game jam, I agree that this is almost ready to ship to mobile

firebelley 2020-10-07 02:55

Stellar art, great mechanic and adherence to the theme, and lots of fun as well! I will say the spike in difficulty after the initial levels was quite jarring, I would have liked more "easy" introductory levels to really figured out what I was doing. But that was a relatively minor thing, I loved the game overall!

tomeyro 2020-10-07 03:03

This was a fun puzzle game. The graphics and UI was also pretty nice. Well done!

rmheuer 2020-10-07 03:08

Wow, this felt really polished! One thing I would improve would be to explain what the new instructions do, as it is kind of hard to tell from the icons. I cannot believe you were able to make something this polished in the limited amount of time. And it loads really fast!

leo-red 2020-10-07 07:34

Fantastic game,Great art style. Nothing to complain.BUG REPORT: If you remove a command tile when the bot is moving the removed command will still be done.(I don't know if it is a bug, just saw that. You can maybe use it as a mechanic?)

patrickrmc 2020-10-07 14:05

I like the animations when the level loads, it makes it seem a bit less stiff, cool transition! The game was fun and easy to understand even without reading any tutorials or explanations. Good stuff!

toasteater 2020-10-07 15:27

Nice idea meets quality execution, resulting in a very solid game overall! I didn't realize that one could (apparently) modify the commands mid-movement until I read the comment section, after clearing the game assuming that I'm stuck with the loops. Well done!

forgeronstudio 2020-10-07 15:42

This is a really great game! I particularly liked the idea of using a level as a hub world for the other levels. The UI was also really nice, and the speed-up feature makes it clear you have lots of experience with puzzle games :) The only other thing I would've liked is to be able to replace commands by dragging new ones over them. Great job!

esphoros 2020-10-07 17:09

I liked this a lot! Firstly, the music is epic, really adds to the atmosphere, and the graphics and animation add to the smoothness of the game. Secondly, the puzzles are very fun to solve, I like the way the robot is stuck in the loop you set, good interpretation of the theme, and the speed feature was very useful. I also really liked the hub level, but I'd appreciate if the transporter things were different colours, or something, to make it easier to remember which one leads to which other level. Fun game overall. Also, if you made a post LD version for mobile, I reckon it'd do well, because the controls could be easily adapted, and it's a lot more fun than most mobile games. Just a thought.

tad 2020-10-07 17:38

This is such a cool puzzle game! Really inventive mechanics and lovely graphics to boot. Really well done, team! :)

clemonades 2020-10-07 19:20

Wow I really like the graphics/style. The concept is cool and there is a surprising amount of polish for the time limit. Great job!

radow 2020-10-07 21:04

Really solid entry, had a blast playing it! The visuals and audio were all really neat, but what made it great was obviously the gameplay. The amount of content was also pretty high for a jam game =) I will have to go back and solve the last few levels I'm still missing, but I'm actually quite hyped to do that.

renge 2020-10-07 21:44

Very challenging puzzle game with great puzzle design! I would complain that some puzzles just had me guessing random things and hoping for something that works, but seeing that I didn't manage to solve the last level, I clearly had the wrong approach.. I had fun playing this on stream!

yulia-li 2020-10-08 13:28

Great job! I cant believe that this game was made in 3 days!!! Very very neat and nice animation, I want play this game again and again/

polaliart 2020-10-08 16:26

I really enjoyed the visuals of the game as well as the music, and really love how it's tied to the theme. I would have liked a kind of little introductory story or motivation given to the robot to make it more personal in a way, but I really love it! Good job :)

nsadie 2020-10-08 19:45

Excellent visuals, music, UI and presentation! I enjoyed the puzzles, really good use of the theme!

glaas 2020-10-08 20:12

Is that really a jam entry ?? It's incredible ! Smart level design, incredibly polished animation, I could go on and on. Amazing really !!

jvdwijk 2020-10-08 21:09

This was pretty good! THe puzzles and maps were nicely designed but a bit difficult

eugenik 2020-10-09 00:29

loved the mood, graphics and audio

shadowhaxz0r 2020-10-09 13:21

Cool game! Would benefit from some more hand designed levels I think, in between I would get some levels where you would literally just need to take 1 step forward. Nice graphics and audio!

shelvid 2020-10-09 17:08

Very cute aesthetically pleasing puzzle game.

manusaiz 2020-10-12 21:12

Really polished experience, congrats on the work of putting all this together in a couple days.

Now that said, while everything works amazingly well, the gameplay itself could use some more interesting level design and/or progression mechanics.

With such few elements and no limit it was a matter of randomly trying and ended up feeling boring. And that's so bad because everything works so well and the concept is pretty solid!

Again congrats on putting together something so technically polished, respect!

adjo 2020-10-12 21:54

Very nicely polished for a jam entry! Levels were well designed and interesting. Liked the use of a level as the hub,

trexxak 2020-10-12 22:37

Stellar (huehue) presentation!

All I can really critique is that it's not obvious you can't change the loop once Cubot is running, as the tiles are still easily swappable yet Cubot will not follow the new commands. Maybe that's a bug though?

Regardless, incredible work for only 2 people!

dans17 2020-10-13 07:59

The UI, the cursor tutorial, and having the level pieces drop in one by one make the game look really polished, nice job! The puzzles were also very fun to solve, but like others have said, there should be an indicator of how many commands you can use for each level. I also got confused my first couple times at the level selection part, so I'd recommend adding some text saying Select Level or something similiar there.

Really cool! Nice polished game, lovely 3d art and cool music!

Gameplay is fun and simple.

r3l0ad1 2020-10-14 18:15

Nice game! well polished and the graphics are really cute :) simple, well thought out gameplay and good audio. Congrats!

sludgekey 2020-10-17 15:59

Cool stuff. Thanks for linking it in my comment! I thought the level select was a clever idea. I enjoyed the levels and the fast forward was something I was about to want to comment when I figured it was implemented. Nicely polished!

omiya-games 2020-10-17 16:25

Well done on the presentation, especially the tutorial. A lot of things were presented clearly, and most parts of the game were presented clearly and transparently. Early levels, did a good job of making me feel smart, as the solutions were pretty clear. Later, especially harder levels, however, felt like a complete guess-work and experimentation. I've managed to "beat" all the levels, I feel, using the same forward-sensor-turn-clockwise solution (with occasional additional forward step at the end if said solution didn't work).

Parts that I felt *weren't* presented as clearly include behavior of stop-sign bots, and the behavior of the sensor tile that I felt the tutorial did not do a good job of explaining its purpose. I don't think I've managed to grasp (or admittedly, bothered to care) how the stop-sign bots behave. As others have mentioned, noting the limit on the number of moves, as well as adding a hint that the same move can be plopped twice, could have helped. Perhaps a one-cycle guidelines indicating what the trajectory of the bot would look like may have helped the player better understand some of the behavior of certain game elements.

And small nitpick, but it would have been nice if the sound volume slider actually played a test sound to contrast with the music.

leon-oost 2020-10-17 16:50

My brain hurt, but very nice game you made here! Love the coding aspect <3

flying-basement-studios 2020-10-17 17:56

Hi, you were right, the concept of your game is really very similar to ours :D We really like your graphics :)

itsdanidre 2020-10-24 17:26

Can I begin by saying...I just spent the first 5 minutes on the start screen listening to this music, just taking me away ~~ :open_mouth:

I really like the intro, the instructions were minimal but really intuitive. First 2 levels held my hands dearly with their small and simple designs, and then the 3rd level went **BOOM** :joy: but I did solve it after all. The music is still mind-taking.

Level 4 was kinda trolley because of how many there were (I thought I had to get all ) so I was surprised that I couldn't make sequences for all 16 combinations chronologically since it ran out of space and there was no scroll; maybe I had to work backwards, so I'd just try one way first and...oh I only needed to hit one portal

One minor thing I'd say is to put the amount of sequences allowed as a number so we won't have to figure it out. But it's really minor. It was 2 once, 16 once, and the rest are either 4 or 3, easily discoverable.

Some levels witht eh wifi router icon were really easy to pass since I just put a "move forward; router/check; rotate" and put it on x3 speed and the robot'll navigate its way around chaotically until alas it arrived.

The difficulties in these puzzles really escalated but the sound effects and calming music kept me at em.

I don't think there was an end to it, but I completed all levels, and greatly enjoyed!

Epic! What an amazing game to put together in such a short time. Love the music and animations and the having to solve the puzzles. Nooooice job
